Tell the story of your nation, or of one of the characters within it. From sweeping narratives of diplomatic intrigue, to the struggles of an individual citizen, help make the world of Amardom come to life through the stories we weave together.

566 readers have visited Amardom since BlackswordSteve created it.

Overview: Amardom is a fictional world set in modern times designed to act as a sandbox for players to tell stories in, great and small. While it is focused on a nation-building style of roleplay, relying heavily on themes of diplomacy, politics, and war, more "traditional" roleplaying is also available, as players can play as both the leaders of nations (and by extension, the nations themselves) and as individual characters within those nations. Thus, the roleplaying in Amardom can range from large scale military battles to tense diplomatic meetings between nation leaders to the personal lives of ordinary citizens who witness the world around them. Amardom has no singular "plot". Its goal is to provide an outlet for storytellers and roleplayers to create interesting characters and environments to play in...weaving a unique, detailed, community created world, story by story. Continue reading to learn more about the features of this roleplay, and its rules.

Nations of Amardom:

*Nations without an owner may be played by anyone (see rules)*

-Partopia (Owned by BlackswordSteve)

The Amardom News Network

The Amardom News Network (ANN) is a "character" I will be playing that will simulate an international news organization, reporting on the world's events. News will be posted regarding recent roleplaying activity, as well as player submitted "headlines", which can be sent to me in a PM. An example of a player submitted headline would: "Citizens of (player's nation) are mourning today after one of its most influential celebrities was killed under mysterious circumstances earlier this morning". Such headlines do not have to be groundbreaking events. They are simply another way to enhance the roleplaying experience of Amardom.

Toggle Rules

  • Humans Only
  • No magic/paranormal stuff
  • Play reasonably. Don't make you or your nation too powerful of an adversary.
  • Combat should be played out realistically, but keep in mind the above rule.
  • Make sure to ask questions if you are confused
  • Nations/Characters can only be destroyed/killed after a mutual agreement between both players, or if the GM decides so (if a player leaves, for instance).

Character Creation:

There are two different styles of character roleplaying in Amardom: Nation-focused and Character-focused.

Nation-Focused: Playing as the leader of a nation (either one of the unowned nations, or one you create yourself), and narrating how your nation responds to the events that will unfold. Involves diplomacy, military strategy, and a broader scale of roleplaying than Character-Focused. To create your own nation, fill out the Nation Creation profile and post it somewhere in the character profile for your nation's leader. *It may help you to read some of the OOC information when creating your nation*

Character-Focused: Playing as an individual within a nation, and roleplaying out more plot-specific events within Amardom. For instance, a nation declares war. A character-focused roleplayer could play as one of the individual soldiers on the frontlines of that war. Character-Focused players are more flexible with what kinds of scenes they can roleplay. While Nation-Focused characters handle the larger scale politics and wars, Character-Focused characters could be playing any genre of scene, as long as it follows the rest of the rules mentioned below.
