GENERAL INFORMATION

Role: The Isolated “Doll”
Gender: Female
Nickname(s): Doll, Goldie.
Age: 12
Race: Human

APPEARANCE

Height: 4ft 8in
Weight: 87lbs
Build: Small,
Hair Color: Golden Blonde
Eye Color: Emerald Green
Scars/Tattoos/Piercings: None

Description: Grace has beautiful golden locks that falls freely, right down to her feet in a 'V' shape. So she can read without her hair getting in the way, she keeps her bangs cut just above her eyes and one either side of them she has her hair kept at chin length. Grace has thin almond shaped eyes that are an emerald green color and shine just as brightly as the jewel itself, as well as with the innocence of the child that she is.

Grace being a child still, lacks any real curves, but even with her slight shape, her hip width is noticeable. Grace has a small frame, she indeed has the body and face of a doll. She is of a healthy weight, her skin along with her rosy cheeks, reflect this. While she is not considered “pale”, Grace does have a fair and light skin tone, like that of a pale peach. While her face still retains a roundish and youthful look to it, she even has a button-like nose! Grace is often told her face would thin out, making her appear older, if she stopped munching on sweets so much.

Grace's expressions are usually that of seriousness, irritation or simply a distant look; which she usually has when she is reading one of the library's books. She does not often smile or laugh, and even when she is pleased or happy, it is more of a smirk and chuckle.

Preferred Clothing: Grace prefers the elegance of floor length Victorian type dresses, with matching headbands and a pair of well-made ankle boots. She loves the fact that they not only make her cute factor but she simply finds them comfortable over pants. (Plus when she spins around in them, they poof outwards, making her feel like a princess.)

MENTALITY

Oddities: Grace can go for hours, possibly even days, without speaking to anyone. She seems accustomed to silence.
Grace also has a tendency to sing random parts of songs and hums the parts she doesn't remember or know.
Grace does not like being directly under the sun when she is outdoors, therefore when she is outside on a sunny day, she sits under a parasol.
Grace likes to roll around on the floor when she is bored.

ImageSkills:
Bookworm – Grace practically lives in libraries and has read many books, any books she could get her hands on. Thanks to this Grace's mind contains a lot of information and facts, but she rarely ever has to use it.
Riddle and Puzzle Solver – Grace loves solving riddles and puzzles, as well as making some for others to figure out on their own. This has led her to be adept at figuring out riddles and puzzles out rather quickly and correctly.
Distraction – Grace uses her childish looks and emerald eyes to her full advantage, she finds it easy to distract adults with her charm and child-like questions and ways, so she can get whatever it is she is after.
Sleight of Hand – With Grace's small build and innocent childish looks, she can deftly reach in to pockets or bags, or in the case of Grace; the sweets jar, and walk away without anyone being the wiser until to late.

Likes: Reading, Gardens, Warmth, Cats, Dogs, Her Bubble Pipe, Dancing, Sweets, Puzzles, Riddles, Mysteries.
Dislikes: Disruptions, Boredom, Invasion of Privacy, Sharp Objects, Thunderstorms, Being ignored or forgotten.

Hobbies: Grace simply loves reading in silence, and since she is more often than not alone, she is content. Other things she likes to do is solve riddles and puzzles while blowing her bubble pipe. Grace will sometimes go out among other people and help or talk to them because she has nothing else to do.

Phobia(s):
Pyrophobia – Fear of fire.
Ceraunophobia – Fear of thunder and lightning.
Athazagoraphobia- Fear of being forgotton or ignored.

Personality: Grace has a sharp tongue, abusive bluntness and eccentric attitude. She also possesses amazing detective-like skills and maturity. This, however, does not discount the fact that she can also possess a personality of a typical girl of her age: childish, overly curious and fond of sweets. She also has a very low tolerance to pain, a result of her refusal to step into the outside world too much.

Grace has developed a type of nihilistic attitude, where she rejects of all distinctions in moral or religious value and a willingness to denies all previous theories of morality or religious belief.

While in spite of possessing a brilliant mind, she does not have any knowledge when it comes to love and affection. When Grace meets others she initially treats them as an entertainer of sorts, usually seeing them as a cure her boredom by either telling her something interesting (which often times fails to meet its purpose) or giving her a mystery to solve. The latter never seems to satisfy her however, as she has yet to find something that is truly challenging or intriguing.

COMBAT

Weapon: If Grace had to fight... It would be whatever she has handy, whether it be a book or her parasol or strictly her hands and feet!

Fighting Style: Grace does not really have a set fighting style. Should she happen to have something that can be used as a weapon in her hands, she is most likely to throw it or swing it at her assailant. If someone were to grab her, she would be likely to pound on them with her fists, kick, bite or claw, aiming to do as much damage as she could till they released her. Or she can do what most children would do if someone tried to hurt them... Scream for help!

Abilities:
Brilliant Mind – The ability to use one's sense of logic. With a capability to deduce facts at a far better speed than normal people and not pull conclusions out of thin air, to come up with an answer or solution.
Eidetic Memory – The ability to recall images, sounds, or objects in memory with extreme precision in extraordinarily detailed and vivid details.

ImageBACKGROUND

Relationship Status: Single.
Family: None – Deceased – Orphan.
Guardian – Elric LeBlanc

Personal History: Grace was born on a cold winter day, near the end of the year. Her mother had been in labor for hours, the pain from the contractions she suffered was excruciating. The doctors made the decision to surgically remove Grace from her mother's womb, risking the life of not only Grace but her mother's as well. But all seemed well, the surgery and stitching went well, so when Grace's mother was deemed fit to leave, her parents took Grace home. Everything should have been fine, but it wasn't.

A few days after Grace was born, her mother fell ill. She had lost a lot of blood throughout the birthing process. A few nights after that, Grace's mother woke to Grace crying and went to tend to her. She lit an oil lamp and began the small journey down the hall towards Grace, when she collapsed. The oil lamp fell to the floor and broke, oil spilled on to the floor, the flames followed. It didn't take long till the small flames became larger, and began to light wall-paintings, furniture, curtains... Anything the flames licked at, soon was swallowed by them. Thick smoke filled the house, and had it not been for someone simply passing by on a late night stroll, the smoke and flames would have taken Grace.

Grace was the sole survivor, merely a babe and now an orphan. It was later recorded that her father had been stone cold drunk when the fire started. He died of smoke inhalation, while Grace's mother had collapsed from blood loss and the fire had taken her life.

Grace grew up, raised by no one, unless you count a man who teaches, what history the world knows, to others in a school setting. It is this man Grace stays with, but neither one of them tie each other down. He allows grace to do as she wishes, and she does not cling to him as a child would. Grace is allowed her freedom and independence by the man who has taken her in.

This man, Elric LeBlanc, is the only riddle or puzzle, Grace has yet to solve. Why did this man take her in and raise her, who is he and where did he come from?

Grace, shaded by her parasol, walked next to her guardian and keeper Elric. A man in his late thirties, with dirty blonde unkempt hair and he was just over a foot taller, as well as one hundred pounds heavier, then Grace. She watched from the corner of her eye as this man, who raised her, popped another round, dough like sweet in to his mouth and began to chew.

“You told me, I must wait until we get back and eat something healthy before I may have sweets.” Grace stated as a matter of fact, still watching him. “So please tell me father why you are allowed to have one now?”

Elric swallowed the sweet and smiled down at Grace, his blue-green eyes shining mischieviously. “Because daughter, I'm a grown up.”

“That is a poor excuse of a reason.” Grace muttered, more to herself than to Elric, as she watched him closed the sack he held which not only contained books, but sweets and other necessary supplies as well.

The 'father and daughter' routine, while it could be considered the correct terms in referring to one another, Elric was not her real father. Or related to her by blood in any way. But he did raise her and it was much easier to travel among others by stating they were family, than it would be if they were to admit that he had taken her in. That always led to the two having to retell the story of what happened to her real parents, which led to more questions and then led to the question of why would he take in a child whose family he not only did not know, but take her on his travels as well. Whenever it came to that question, Elric would just laugh and tell them they wouldn't understand even if he told them.

He would not even tell Grace the answer, and she has asked him, many times before.

The town of Inversa was small town, one free from the so called “God's” rule. Rock formations of varying sizes were all about the area immediately surrounding Inversa, which made it seem either abandoned, but really it was just one of the more isolated town's of Manus Solis. To Grace it was just another rest stop along the road Elric was taking her on. Elric took a job, granted upon himself and of his own free will, to teach or as Grace saw it, preach, about the history of our world. Which he has pieced together from reading and finding various books during his travels.

Elric is the one who taught Grace how to read, as well as write, and since then she has had a love for books and all that they contain. Facts, fiction, stories, theories and everything else in-between. Grace currently was reading a book that told the stories of the “God's”. She honestly did not know why she was reading it, Grace did not believe these “God's” existed and it was some excuse to hold power over the people of the world and nothing more. It was this very attitude and belief that Elric seemed to like in Grace... She would never understand this man.

Arriving at the building that served as a rooming house, Elric opened the door with his free hand while Grace closed her parasol and entered the building. She headed straight for their room, while Elric greeted the owner, who stated lunch would be ready shortly. Grace heard Elric thank the owner as she opened the door and stepped in to the room, setting her parasol next to the door. She walked over and sat in a chair by the window as Elric came in, closing the door behind him.

“So what are we doing today?” Grace asked, resting her chin in her hand and looking over at him.

Elric chuckled and moved to the table, sitting in the chair opposite of Grace, placing the sack on the table and opening it. “Today, we are researching.” He said pulling three books, one of which fit in the palm of his hand. “Shall we see what we can find my dear girl?”

Grace saw a glint in his eyes, one she had seen before. It was always there when he felt he had got his hands on a valuable book of information. She always wondered how this man got his hand on books. They were so rare to come by and so few even existed still. Without hesitation, Grace snatched the small book from his hand and carefully opened the worn cover. “If there is anything of value or use, and can remedy my boredom... I will be pleased.”

Glancing up Grace saw a smile spread across Elric's face as he set to work on reading the other two books. Grace did not know why, but somewhere in her gut, something told her this small and worn leather-bound book may give her the puzzle she has been looking for.
