Introduction
I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn't know who I was - I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I'd never seen, hearing the hiss of steam outside, and the creak of the old wood of the hotel,and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceiling,and really didn't know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds. I wasn't scared;I was just somebody else, some stranger,and my whole life was a haunted life, the life of a ghost.

Nobody knew why, but it seemed whatever the scientists had done to those people had caused something strange to happen to them. A phenomenon that seemed to make them all begin hearing noises, and seeing things that were not there. As if a veil had been lifted. Of course, the scientists didn't know that the things those people were seeing were spirits, and because they didn't know what their testing had done they shut down the program, and let the volunteers leave of their own accord.
It was years later that those Volunteers were 'recruited' by an independent company for 'medical' testing. Its no secret that those people went missing, though nobody outside of the Company knows exactly what happened to them. For those in the know those people were examined, tested on, and finally deemed ineffective to the research as their 'power' was barely developed. However the scientists surmised that if the people were to pass on this newly acquired ability to their offspring then it would garner a much better result in their tests.
Thus the volunteers were essentially forced to have children, and shortly after that were killed so they would not interfere with the experiments. The children were adopted into families that worked for the company. They would be raised in a place where they could be examined, until the time came that their ability could truly be harnessed.
The most commonly known facts are that they are led by Charlotte McKinley, and that that they supply medical equipment to various hospitals around the globe. A lesser known, though public fact is that they also have a hospital for obstetrics.
The majority of the Order is based in California, though they have small groups all over the world keeping an eye on various patients. The most notable branch being the one in Oak Haven, a small town with a 5k population in the middle of nowhere that supports several of the Anathemas.
Their company logo stands for Life, Death, and Rebirth.
Their symbol is Artemis, goddess of the Hunt, and wilderness.
Unless they happen to get lucky. Its been happening all over the world now, Anathema are figuring out that their lives are lies. Finding out that Ouroboros has staged everything that has happened to them. Even their own parents are a lie, agents for Ouroboros made to watch over them as they grow. These few lucky Anathema have managed to run from Ouroboros, long enough at least to try and warn the others before The Hunters track them down.
The freed Anathema have a hope for the future, that if all of them band together they can take down the company that created them, and hopefully find a way to live peacefully.
The Anathema are self named, the meaning behind their name being Cursed or Damned.

2. Meta gaming, god modding, anything of the sort will not be tolerated.
3. Be nice to each other, nobody likes to see Drama OOC. If its in game drama its okay, but settle arguments on your own, because if you bring it to the OOC and I have to settle it then it will be much worse.
4. This will be mildly adult in content, it may involve crude language, gore, and death as well as a darker tone later on.
5. Please don't disappear, I promise if you get bored you can just tell me. We can find a solution easier that way, and if you absolutely want to leave then just tell me, I won't be mad. I just don't want to have to deal with kicking someones character if they disappear only to have them come back later and be upset about it.
6. If you go somewhere tell me. I take frequent out of state trips on weekends, which means no internet, and I will be telling everyone about those trips. I expect if anyone else has to leave for a number of days that they will also let us know.
7. I type fast and make mistakes on wording and grammar a lot, I try my best to proofread several times but always end up missing mistakes. Don't worry if you make small mistakes, I won't badger anyone about it. Also I tend to write longer posts, but if you can't write posts longer than a few paragraphs that's okay, I know everyone is different. As long as posts are at least a paragraph, and detailed then I will allow it.
8. Reserve face claims in OOC, and be sure to check there often as updates and announcements will be made there.
9. I am currently not accepting Ouroboros characters, but perhaps if this gets enough interest I will open that option.

Collectibles

Speaking with the dead allows the player to speak with Ghosts, even ones that are not specifically connected to them.
Seeing Ghosts, and sometimes death echoes (which are looped visions of the ghosts gruesome death)
Controlling Ghosts, or more specifically being able to control the Ghost that is connected to the Anathema. Other Ghosts cannot be controlled.
Self-Possession, which is allowing a Ghost to posses you in order to get a message across. Can be helpful in the event that a Ghost cannot 'voice' by themselves.
Seeing Through A Ghost, again more specifically the Ghost that the Anathema is connected to. If the Ghost is somewhere away from the Anathema they can look through each others eyes.
Telepathy, between yourself and other Anathema. This rarely works on anyone who isn't an Anathema, but can be very helpful in the event that you need to get a message to someone quickly without anyone else knowing.
Possession, of humans, and animals by your Ghost. This skill allows the Anathema to create a passage way to another person/animal in which the Ghost can enter and begin manipulating the body. A noticeable problem however is that the possession will be visible to others through the eyes, which often times roll back as if the person is having a seizure. The person or animal being possessed will also walk weird, and if the Ghost is not particularly practiced at possession they will be unable to properly speak.
Astral Projection/Switching, a practice between Anathema and Ghost where the body of the Anathema is possessed and the Ghost forces the Anathema out so that they can Astral Project themselves. This is a power most effectively used during sleep, as the Anathemas body will be able to rest while the Anathema themselves continue on.
Drawing Energy, an extremely painful process (for both parties involved) that makes use of a Ghosts spiritual energy by drawing it - kind of like a magnet - into the Anathema. This power if underdeveloped can lead to nasty migraines and awful nightmares, and usually isn't all that fun to do. The Energy gained from the Ghost however is one that can heal physical wounds, and give extra strength to the Anathema.
Memory Sense, the ability to see a memory by touching a person, animal, or object. Memory Sense can only happen if the Ghost connected to the Anathema is also touching the object at the same time, opening up a pathway between past and present in the Anathemas mind.
A Few Rules When It Comes To Powers And Skills.
All Anathema have the basic powers + 1 Special Skill. However if anyone wants an additional skill they have to give up two of their basic powers. If they want three skills then another two basic powers would be given up. 3 is the maximum amount of special skills an Anathema can have without losing all of their basic skills. This may seem a little unfair but it allows for less power playing.
