Demon Name:
Kaika Daikirai

Human Name:
Chijin Ayashi

Description:
Methinks you can tell which one is human and which is demon. In demon form, Kaika's left eye glows whenever he activates Blooming [insert emotion here]. Kaika is a tall, lean demon. His hair is very, very messy and both his pale skin and black locks seem to have an ashen sheen to them. Ever movement Kaika makes is purposeful, and there is just an aura about him that makes others get out of his way quickly. While he has the makings of a good leader, Kaika firmly believes that he is most efficient on his own. However, this demon is also the brooding sort, the type to over-think things, especially if they confuse him

Image

Area of Power:
Emotions. For example, Kaika's signature attack is Blooming [insert emotion here]. He levels up when he achieves the purest form of that emotion. The attack can be something that represents the emotion, and his aura will carry it out. A positive emotion will be a non-aggressive move, such as sight or smell. A negative emotion will be something aggressive, like strength or speed. But it always has something to do with his body. It's not like if Kaika achieves pure kindness, he will gain the ability to heal. It will probably be something to do with his senses, or how flexible Kaika is, or how sticky his skin is. Things like that.

So basically Kaika has experienced one emotion in it's purest form so far, and that is Rage. Now, whenever Kaika chooses, he can activate Blooming Rage and he gains super strength.

History:
Kaika has always had two siblings. His older brother was the perfect demon, cruel to the core. His younger brother was the sweetest little tyke one could possibly imagine. Kaika always had fun with his older brother. Kaika loved his younger brother more than he did the sky. One day, a 'joke' went too far and Kaika's older brother killed his younger. Thus he experienced rage. As it was his first time experiencing that emotion, Kaika became completely ruled by it. When he awoke, both of his brothers were dead.

Nowadays, Kaika has been sent to the Human World as a spy, taking a human form. Unfortunately, he has no idea how to talk to humans, as their customs, emotions, and slang words are completely foreign to him.

Signature Attack:
The only emotion Kaika has acheived so far is Rage, giving him superdemon strength. Kaika can only activate one emotion at a time, for if he activated more than one the emotion wouldn't be in it's purest form.

Blooming [Insert Emotion Here]

Catch Phrase:
"Do you really think I would lower myself for a... catchphrase?"

Current Opinions of Serafina:
"Why did she wave to me in the middle of the street? That was idiotic... but I am all the more foolish for rescuing her."

So begins...

Three Months Ago

Kaika was fuming. As in angry. As in the kind that bubbles and threatens to explode thus burning everybody in range. He took a deep, calming breath. So. While everybody else got to roam the Human World, Kaika was to be a spy, stuck in a human shell. The demon looked down in disgust at the boy laying unconsious in the dirt. He had dragged him from far away, so Kaika wouldn't have to pretend to be someone else. The problem with the human form, despite it being weak, ugly, and gross in general, was that other demons would attack him. Right now, he had three options.

1) Ignore orders and go on having fun.

2) Let his demonic aura seep through the form, thus making sure the other demons would stay away from him. Unfortunately the angels would probably know he was a demon. Some spy he would be.

3) And then, Kaika could just possess the human and suck it up.

After a moment's pondering, Kaika decided. Number three then. He sucked in a breath, then entered the human's body.

Wh-who's there!?

...Let me in, mortal...

Who are you?! Where's my family!? In truth, Kaika had disposed of the bunch in order to avoid search parties for his new body.

I am... you... Kaika mentally sniggered.

What!? What happened to my family!?

We killed them, don't you remember...?

I-I wouldn't-!?

You wouldn't... but we did... oh, your baby sister screams of mercy were so delicious.... Kaika offered the human images of their mauled bodies. With a smirk, he knew he got his foothold in the boy's dispair.

Kaika opened his human eyes. Heh. That was easier than he had thought. The demon fingered his earring. In it, was sealed all of his demonic power. As long as he kept it tucked away, nobody would know he was a demon.

Present Day

The new student had slipped into the academy unnoticed. The boy was the wallflower type that simply sat back and observed the goings on about him, and after his novelty passed away he simply faded into the backround. A boy like him didn't want to participate with the humans; he probably wouldn't know how if he had tried. No, he had a mission. He just had to wait for his targets to appear.

Serafina watched him walk off as she started to walk off she checked her school bag and blinked as she noticed she left her book in school! “Oh no!” she cried out as she ran towards to the school tripping a bit as she did so causing a scuff on her knee. “Oww…” she muttered as she continued running not really looking where she was going, her amulet swaying from side to side as she continued her trek. She hopped over a short fence as she stopped to catch her breath.

She wiped her head as she continued running, as she was crossing the street she saw a male classmate with black hair nearby, she offered him a wave as she heard the unmistakable sound of a car coming too fast, she turned towards the noise and saw a car barreling towards her honking their horn.

Bored bored bored boring bored.

Kaika, though he had heard some angels had finally shown their oh-so-holy faces, hadn't spotted any of the feathered warriors quite yet. So, he was amusing himself by observing the daily life of a human in town. In any case, this was a potential lesson about the mortals and their strange mannerisms. The demon couldn't quite figure out why they did half of what they did.

He was leaning against the brick wall of the 'Ye Olde Candy and Cookies', feeling the cold leaking through his jacket and thin cotton shirt. Kaika frowned, and folded his arms across his chest. This human body was far too weak for his liking. But movement caught his eye, and Kaika glanced to his right.

There was a small child, sniffling with a bloodied knee. A women whom he assumed was the mother was crouched in front of the little boy, carefully placing a bandage over the wound and cooing words of comfort. Now, that was the kind of thing Kaika did not understand about these mortals. Every single demon Kaika had ever met has always told him about how weak and delightfully evil humans were.

So why was the woman helping the child? To preserve humanity? Was she going to eat him at some point in the future? Maybe, but those didn't explain why she was making him feel better mentally. Why would she even care?

But once again, movement caught Kaika's eye. A girl from his class was hopping a nearby fence, and he spared her only a glance before returning his attention to the mother and child.

But then the girl -named Serafina or something similar- started sprinting across his field of vision, her long brown hair flying behind her. Kaika stared blankly at the girl as she ran recklessly into the the road. But then her eyes met his, and Serafina waved her hand at him.

Kaika frowned, trying to remember what exactly that meant, before he remembered that humans did that to acknowledge another's presence. The demon was confused. She was in an obvious hurry, and yet she found time to notice him.

And then it happened. Time seemed to slow down as Kaika's heightened senses caught sight of the oncoming collision long before the human noticed the possible danger.

Two seconds passed before Kaika did anything.

But then his eyes widened.

His earring flashed.

Just as Serafina's head turned towards her oncoming demise, Kaika was dimly aware of the fact that the concrete was probably breaking under feet from the force of his running leap. As he was launched into the air, Kaika realized that he was too late, and the two seconds he had wasted were going to cost this girl her life. The car would hit her before he had the chance to do anything to anything about it.

...the concrete was... breaking under his feet...

In the muffled quiet of Kaika's slow motion reality, the boy realized his demon powers must have been released at some point. He would worry about the consequences of that later; with his power he had might be able to save the human.

And with that decision made, reality suddenly went back to it's normal speed. Which, at the moment, was very fast.

The screeching of brakes and the honking of horns exploded into Kaika's ears, and his nose was filled with the smell of burning rubber and fear. He was suddenly aware of his sneakers landing on the concrete, and that he was in between the Sudan and and Serafina.

The car was going to hit both of them. There was no time, even, to push the human out of the way. Why he would even consider that, Kaika didn't know, but... his eyes found the hood of the car, that was no more than a foot away from him.

It seems I am going to die because I wasted time wondering why I put myself at risk in the first place... His thoughts turned to Serafina. The girl is going to die as well...

Was it that last thought that triggered Kaika's protective instincts? Well, no matter, because before he himself knew it, Kaika's body was reacting defensively in the only way it knew how.

Because as soon as he saw that car coming, the demon's leg swung around, and Kaika felt his foot connect with metal.

Kaika's mind snapped back to his body, and with horrified eyes watched as the brown automobile was sent flipping through the air with a brutal force, straight into the Ye Olde Candy and Cookies.

He had kicked the car out of the way.

But not even then was Kaika allowed to overthink things, for his body once again began to act on its own. More cars and possibly an explosion was coming, and he certainly didn't want to get in the way. Without hesitating, Kaika's hand yanked the girl off her feet, and intending to drag her with him, Kaika covered the remaining expanse of street in two long bounds.

The car must've finally crashed into the store, because a shockwave that could only be from the resulting explosion knocked Kaika off his feet, sending Serafina and him rolling across the sidewalk. When a razor piece of car shrapnel shot dangerously close to his ear, Kaika wrapped his arms around the human, crushing her against his chest protectively. After rolling a few yards down the sidewalk, the rolling finally came to an end and Kaika hauled himself and the girl up to a standing position.

The demon's back was to the burning heat behind him, and the light from the fire was outlining his dark form in a halo of red and orange.

Kaika looked down at the girl, his hands still on her shoulders though he no longer held her. The demon was about to step away when something combustable inside the shop ignited, birthing yet another explosion.

The force knocked both the girl and Kaika off balance, and he stumbled forward, not really knowing what he was doing until he had pinned Serafina to a nearby wall, steadying both of them and to protect her from the heat and flying oven parts.

Which was a good thing, because if he hadn't have done that, the molten chunk of metal that plunged into his upper back would've hit her instead.

And with that, Kaika was out like a light, collapsing unconsious onto Serafina.

Serafina closed her eyes as the car came towards her, “I am going to die here…” she thought to herself, and with Lascial resting there was no one to help her.

She felt someone hug her and opened her eyes only to see a shirt and neck as someone was protecting her. “GO! I don’t want you to die as well!” she cried out in worry for her classmate as tears filled her eyes. She did not see or feel the car impact, but she did feel herself being picked up by her class mate.

She let out a yelp as she and him rolled across the concrete, her head started to bleed a bit as it scraped against the sidewalk, her hat flying off her head as her hair whipped around. When they stopped and she was hauled up by her classmate, she dared to squint open her eyes seeing a halo of fire around his head, it was strangely fitting for him. “Thank-” she started to say as she was pinned against the wall by him. Again she was dragged to her feet and pinned against the wall by him, as she let out a little whimper as the heat overwhelmed them. She closed her eyes at the light and instinctively raised her arm over her face. She heard a sound of something hard hit something soft and felt him slide down on her. She quickly caught him, almost sliding down the wall from his weight, she wasn’t that strong. She gritted her teeth and wrapped her arm around him; everyone was staring at her and him. “C-can someone help?!” she asked, “Please help him!” she asked but no one helped her.

She shook her head and headed to the hospital walking all the way as blood dripped down her. When she got there the doctors quickly took him away from her as she followed ta nurse stopped her, “Miss you cannot go with him!” she called out. “He saved me! I have to help!” she proclaimed as she ducked under her and followed them, but she was stopped again and this time dragged to another room, “miss you need to be checked out yourself.” A nurse told her as they dragged her to another room. As they checked her out she thought about what just happened and the scene afterwards.

I was sure the car was going to hit me… and no human can run that fast… is he… like me now? Is he an angel?” she pondered, it was the only explanation that seemed to make sense to her.

She was snapped out of her train of thought by the doctor, “you miraculously suffered only minor injuries, by the way you looked we were worried for the worst, we still need to keep you here for a bit and inform your parents.” They told her.

“They are overseas, b-but that is unimportant! How is the Ayashi-san?” she asked finally remembering his name. The doctor smiled, “Well I am not supposed to do this… but he is in a hospital room resting up now I think… be quiet and do not disturb him…” he told her as she gave her direction to the room. She quickly ran to the room quietly opening the door as she did so. She pulled a chair close to the bed and sat down as she waited for him to wake up, “…what should I say when he wakes up? Thanks doesn’t seem to cut it… this is the second time today I have been saved… should I ask him if he is like me? Oh brother… I wish you were here right now…” she muttered softly as she fiddled with her necklace.

"you need to lay down and rest!" a nurse screamed at Atlus as he moved towards a window, 'what the bloody hell were those explosions about?!' Atlus questioned himself as he walked by several rooms one of them having another injured person with the girl whom he had saved earlier next to him, he quietly walked in, "hey, do you know what those explosions were, by chance?" he asked silently standing at the door looking at the boy, "don't tell me... By what looks like your and most likely his injuries, you were there..." he said brushing his hair aside, "to my guess and this is a shot in the dark, you got yourself in a mess and this chap saved you and shared fate with me huh?" he smiled, 'now Atlus that's not nice to assume like that!' Ikaran snapped, 'and you have nobility and act like that?' Atlus didn't acknowledge Ikaran's statement to him and just looked at the boy, 'poor chap...' he thought in sympathy.

Yes, Kaika was not exactly at the top of his game at the moment. People usually aren't when three inches of molten iron are embedded into their skin, but yeah. Oh, and don't forget the many minor cuts, bruises and burns that now cover his person.

The demon-turned-human was lying facedown on the hospital bed, shirtless, but it didn't really matter because his upper back was wrapped in bandages and covered with a cold compress. The demon's lung and spinal cord had been narrowly spared, but the muscles on the right of the spine nest to the shoulder blade were torn apart, plus what damage burning metal can do to a person.

His wrist was hooked up to an IV and life support, the beep, beep of his heartbeat a constant reminder he was alive.

Kaika awoke to find his mouth and nose filled with cotton and his whole upper back completely numb. "Ugh..." He made a weak attempt to move, but failed early on. His reddish eye blearly looked about him, before finding a familiar face. "...Sera... fina...?" The demon groaned again. Why was she here? Looking to the other side, he noticed someone with long, coppery hair. Kaika stared at him blankly. Now who was this?

Serafina blinked as she heard a familiar voice, “Oh thank goodness you are okay… I-I was afraid you got caught up in that as well…” she told him. She looked down at Ayashi-san, “…yeah he saved me… it-it is my fault he got hurt like this…” she muttered as tears fell from her eyes, she clenched her skirt tightly making her knuckles turn white. “It is my fault that the explosions happened… I-I should have watched where I was going…” she muttered as she closed her eyes tightly. “And now he is hurt… when it should be me not him…” she commented as she wiped her tears away and turned to the boy, “A-are you okay? You are not badly hurt are you?” she asked him trying to change the subject quickly.

She heard Ayashi-san and sighed in relief as he spoke, “Ayashi-kun! I am so sorry, if-if it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t be hurt!” she told him as a few tears fell down her face as she smiled happily, “But I am glad you are not…” she didn’t finish as she wiped the tears from her face. “Sorry, the first thing I should have said is thank you for saving me…” she told him. “and… well I have something to ask you… but I’d like to ask you in private…” she told him, not wanting to say anything in front of others.

Atlus looked at Serafina in shock, "Hey for my injuries, its my fault..." He said, "don't hold yourself accountable for my brash actions, I decided to help you because I was being a brave bastard... And hurt myself in the process..." Atlus looked at Serafina, "don't worry about me though, doctor said I will heal up just fine!" He smiled as he stepped into the room, "By the way, I'm Atlus, Atlus Tesla" he said bowing, "at your service" Atlus rose back up seeing the boy look at him, next to glaring at Atlus, Atlus thought he just looked at the boy and his injury, "What he get hit with? A molten piece of metal? Thats a bit of a stretch but..." Atlus said as he looked at the bandages and cooling pad, 'Well being with that cooling pad I might not be too far off' He thought as he looked at Serafina , 'Hmm... She's not too badly hurt...' he looked out the window seeing the smoke from the two explosions, 'if they're both human... How'd they get out of the way? And how's the boy conscious? Gah! I can't wrap my head around this?! Is that boy an angel? That seems logical but... We'd know right?' Atlus turned around to see a nurse helping the boy, she notices Atlus' bandages, "Here let me change your bandages.." she said to him and he looked a bit irritated, "I'm fine, thanks..." Atlus said as he looked at the others, 'Ikaran... Could this boy be an angel?' he asked in his head, 'I wouldn't know, I'm not able to sense angels in human form... Sorry...' Ikaran responded as Atlus but his hand on his chin in a thought.

((just wanted to post something!))

A demon, unlike the one currently about to attack Haru, peered into a hospital window. He knew there were two angels in the room, and one... human? The imp-like creature wasn't sure, but that didn't matter. He was smarted than the other demons, who went around killing people willy nilly. This imp knew, if a demon slayed an angel, he would be rewared handsomely by Lucien. The monster licked his lips. He was small, only about a foot tall, but this demon had a secret. The imp popped something into his mouth, the remains of dead things caking his razor sharp teeth, and swallowed. The demon crept into the room, sliding underneath a nearby table. Anytime now, the pill would take effect and...

The demon grew... bigtime. The imp was now twice as large as Kaika's hospital bed.

Serafina blinked as she saw something in the window start to grow. She saw what it was and looked at Atlus and Chijin. She had to do something! She looked for a weapon in the room and her eyes settled on a coat rack. She ran to it and picked it up, as she ran to the window and hit it with a thud! Not breaking the window but hoping to shake this demon off. “LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!” she cried out to it as her necklace came out of her shirt.

Atlus looked over at the window Sarafina broke, 'what the?' he thought as he walked over to the window, "Atlus, there's a demon down there!" Ikaran yelped, "oh bloody hell!"Atlus said as he jumped out the window going into angel form to fight. Atlus landed next to the demon drawing his scythe to kill when he realized the demon is growing larger, Atlus raised his scythe to decapitate the thing as he got it to the top the demon booted him away into a building. He was stuck and helpless.

"Ayashi-kun! I am so sorry, if-if it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t be hurt!” What was the woman ranting about? It was obviously Kaika's own spur of the moment decisions that were ultimately responsible for his current condition. He should have, by all accounts, allowed the vehicle to pulverize Serafina's weak human body. “and… well I have something to ask you… but I’d like to ask you in private…”

Ah. Of course she wanted to ask about her rescue. Any creature with half a brain would do so. But before Kaika had the chance to contemplate what this might complicate, a bolt of alarm fired through his skull.

A shudder ran down Kaika's spine, sending jolts of pain through his injured shoulder. A hiss of pain escaped from between his clenched teeth. His every magical sense was straining towards his left. A demon. Just what he had predicted. No, this wasn't good at all. Kaika would win easily if he discarded the human body, but... his cover would be blown. Permanently, unless he was prepared to kill the witnesses. Not a problem, but... Kaika's thoughts flashed back to Serafina's wave. It would be a waste, after all he went through to save the human. Perhaps it wouldn't be necessary, after all, the demon wasn't so large...

Wait. Nevermind.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kaika watched as the creature grew many times it's original size. Serafina stood up, and seemingly without any hesitation, stormed over to the window and swung a coatrack at the glass, failing to break it. His reddened eyes widened. Is she attempting to engage the creature? That would be suicide!

But one surprise came after another, and in a shower of glory and glass, the other person in the room transformed. Kaika sucked in a breath. An angel. Right under his nose. The angel wasn't too strong, however. From what Kaika could see from his poor vantage point, he was punted out of the game seconds after attacking the monster.

Well. How anti-climatic.

Kaika turned his attention back to the human woman. How would she react to all of this? Would she continue to fight, even after witnessing the defeat of a soldier of God? Surely not.

Serafina would run, or die trying. Either way, Kaika would then be free to transform.
