At just seventeen years of age, Aman left his home in Haiti in search of a better life in America. When he came to the states, life was very different - it was 1976 and racism was only just beginning to be frowned upon. Aman worked tirelessly to generate enough money so that not only could he sustain his life in America, but also send money back to his family in Haiti.
Beginning work in a printing factory, it took years, but Aman managed to work his way up the ladder to becoming supervisor of the company. It was then that he bet Archie's mother. Ciara was a fresh-faced, intern at The New York Times, having just left Fulton University with a degree in journalism, she was excited and ready to start her career. Aman's company was the one who printed The Times, and so on a supervised trip to the building (all interns went) Ciara came face to face with Aman. He was a sweet, hard-working man who, despite having little money, never let that get him down. It was impossible for Ciara not to fall for him.
Quickly, Ciara began making excuses to visit him at work - be it a minor misprint or an ever so slightly smudged word - she wanted to see him as much as she could. The pair became fast friends, despite coming from incredibly different upbringings; Ciara's family were wealthy, she had gone to college and her father had managed to wrangle her an internship at The New York Times (being currently employed as an executive at The Wall Street Journal).
It took time, as both were afraid to admit their feelings for one another, but eventually Aman plucked up the courage to ask Ciara out on a date. She agreed with a grin and they spent one glorious night dancing. However, things didn't go quite so smoothly when Ciara introduced Aman to her father - Joseph, a very traditional old man - who found it hard to adjust to the thought of his daughter marrying a black man. It was the early 80s by this point, and seeing mixed couples was not completely uncommon but it also wasn't common place yet. It took Ciara explaining that it's exactly the same as Joseph marrying her mother Sofia, who is portuguese, for Joseph to change his mind (although Ciara didn't care either way, she was in love with Aman and would be with him whether her father was ok with it or not), and Sofia was always supportive of the relationship.
Within three years the pair were married, it ended up becoming a far more high profile marriage than they had wanted, being the daughter of an incredibly wealthy newspaper executive and relatively famous actress meant quite a few paparazzi were crowded outside the sweet little church they married in, waiting to take photographs of the happy couple (and their well known family). Even Aman's parents managed to visit from Haiti and make the wedding.
Archie couldn't have asked for a better childhood. Dividing their family time between America & Haiti, Archie grew up surrounded by vibrant culture and adoring parents. He'll never forget cooking elaborate christmas meals with his Granmè (Grandma), using a heavy hand with the pepper for the mains and a multitude of different beautifully ripe fruits for dessert, while is little sisters danced around in the sunshine, to their Granpapa playing the bamboula. Sure, Haiti was a lot different to America, his Granparan (Grandparents) weren't as affluential as his American Grandparents but they loved their grandchildren and made the most out of what they had, instilling in Archie a sense of humbleness, despite having a very wealthy family back 'home' (America) and therefore typically getting whatever he wants.
However, don't let Archie's humbleness fool you into thinking that he is modest. His family are wealthy and while Archie does appreciate that, that could all change one day if his mother lost her job or his grandparents died, he'll still make the most of it while he can and isn't one to hold back if there's something he wants, Archie's gonna get it. This was never too bad as a child because the boy had some self restraint, but after his father died, Archie began acting out.
Aman got sick around Archie's 13th birthday, he suffered a stroke during the night and was hospitalised for days. It was a truly terrible time for the otherwise idyllic family, and when Aman was finally released back to them, he just wasn't the same. The stroke had damaged the parts of the brain responsible for memory, learning, and awareness. His attention span dramatically shortened, and he began experiencing deficits in short-term memory. Archie would be able to have a conversation with his father, leave the room to get a drink, and when he comes back hoping to continue it, Aman has already forgotten they ever even spoke. The young boy did everything he could for his father - the man he looked up to the most, Aman had taught him everything he knew and the thought of losing him broke Archie's heart.
It wasn't until two years later that Aman suffered another stroke and this time, didn't survive it. The entire family was shell-shocked, Archie was only 15 and dealing with the loss of his father at such a young age really hit him hard. Archie began staying out late, going to parties and coming home blackout drunk. He did this so often that Archie began missing large portions of school and got so behind that they threatened to kick him out. Being such a prestigious High School, they couldn't have anyone flunking their classes.
Ciara decided that Archie should go and stay with his Granparan for a while. Sending him off to them over the summer, Archie ended up staying there far longer than that and completing school with very high marks at the local high school in Haiti. He loved being with Fabi and Issy, they made sure that he was always fed, rested and happy but also that he wasn't going crazy. In Haiti, Archie learnt even more about his ancestry and about how amazing his Haitian side really was, honestly, when Ciara asked the boy to come home, Archie wasn't even sure he wanted to go. High school was over, and there weren't many colleges in Haiti, especially ones that would offer the qualifications Archie needed to become a psychologist (something he had decided he wanted to pursue over the summer). Before he left, Issy taught Archie how to play the bamboula, an instrument his little sisters adored and when he arrived home, that was the first thing they asked of him.
Playing the bamboula and watching his little sisters dance around, making up little songs to go with the rhythm reminded Archie that while he loved Haiti, America would always be his home. This was where his mother and sisters were, and he needed to stay here now. Applying to Fulton, amongst other highly regarded schools, Archie was accepted and felt overjoyed that he got into his mother's old school. Ciara was an Alpha Theta Pi when she went to Fulton and would often talk about how amazing her college experience was, so Archie decided that he would rush Alpha Theta Pi's sibling house Beta Gamma Omega. Joining them, he felt almost at home in the place, Archie loves his frat brothers and going out partying (plus the fact that his house is the most popular isn't too bad either), but he will always remember his family's humble beginnings and how hard they all worked to get to where they are now.
Although his time in Haiti changed him, Archie is still that rebellious teen deep down and whenever he's with his frat, that side of his always seems to come out. Archie can't help but go a little wild at parties with his bros and flirts with girls nonstop - however he always does it with an air of charm. Unlike the Sigma Chi Delta, who seem to only really care about partying, the Betas make sure that they divide their time properly and Archie studies just as much as he parties, keeping his grades high in college is a must if he ever hopes to be a psychologist.

(i.)
Archie has, and always will be, an outgoing boy - and with that outgoingness comes his flirtatious side. While he's not the kind of guy that's gonna flirt with anyone with a pulse, if Archie finds someone attractive there's no doubt that he's going over and talking to them. Rarely feeling any shame, Archie usually doesn't get rejected but when he does he simply brushes it off and moves on instead of pouting about it. His father and grandfathers taught him to be gentlemanly, and so Archie wouldn't ever dream of forcing himself on a girl or taking advantage of someone while they're drunk or otherwise inebriated. He's the kind of guy who will walk a drunk girl home and see she gets in safely rather than trying to get with her. Although that being said, if a girl is into him and able to consent, Archie has no qualms about taking her home. Of course, one night stands aren't exactly gentlemanly but if the girl's fine with it, then why shouldn't Archie be. Sometimes, however, Archie has known to be a little too flirtatious and exceeds cheeky to almost border naughtiness. He loves to mess with people, not typically women, but because his frat brothers know about his sexuality, Archie will sometimes profess his love to them and watch as they squirm, it's hilarious to him and uncomfortable for them - until they realise it's a joke, which is when they'll typically give him and shove and chuckle.
(ii.)
As stated earlier, Archie is incredibly charismatic and has had a certain magnetic aura around him that has attracted people to him, ever since childhood. He's never short for friends and always loves to hang out with pretty much anyone (apart from boring people). His grandmother used to say that Archie would be trouble as a teenager - endearingly of course, but boy was she right. During his rebellious, party-boy phase, the only reason his High School kept him on was because all of Archie's teachers loved him. He'd managed to manipulate and charm his way into almost every employees good books at that school but when his attendance got so bad, his mother knew it was gonna be sooner, rather than later, that he'd get kicked out and so sent him off to live with his Granparan for a little while. Ever since then, Archie has realised he has a real talent in manipulating people, he doesn't usually do it on purpose but Archie's magnanimous personality makes it easy for him to accidentally slip and get people to do stuff for him that he either doesn't wanna do, or can't be bothered to do.
(iii.)
Living with his Granparan, taught Archie to appreciate what he has. Luckily, what his family has is a lot of money. However his Granparan do not so while living with them, Archie learnt how to make the best out of what he has. Of course, since Aman became rather successful, Isidor and Fabiola have managed to move to a far nicer house but they could still never be described as rich or upper class. Aman instilled a sense of responsibility in Archie, his father worked so hard to make sure his family could have a nice life and he isn't just going to squander that. Despite having a good amount of wealth, Archie doesn't let that go to his head and he doesn't think he's better than others simply because he has more than they do. He'll befriend anyone, their social class doesn't matter to him; if they get along, that's all that matters to Archie. However, just because he is humble about his money, does not mean Archie is as modest about his appearance. Growing up, Archie received compliments about how handsome he is since birth, the perfect mix of his mother and father, Archie and his little sisters are very beautiful people and they definitely seem to know it. While his sisters aren't outright vain, Archie finds it hard not to be. It doesn't help that being in the Betas means he can pretty much get any girl, or guy, he wants.
(iv.)
Archie chose his major after staying with his granparan in Haiti. Witnessing many of the local people struggling in poverty was devastating to him, but as was watching how their children's mental health deteriorated when they were less able to access school and forced to have to work to make money. Of course there's a wealthy side of Haiti, but before Aman left to go to America, Isidor and Fabiola lived within that large group of people who had little money. It was a tough decision between becoming a medical doctor or a psychologist, Archie wasn't sure of the best way to help the children. But after hearing about how almost all people who live in poverty with mental illnesses never get diagnosed, his mind was made up for him. He would offer those people the support they so badly needed. Having always been a rather curious and observant child, Archie finds it easy to read people and so he excels at his studies and loves what he's doing. However, with this observance skill comes an analytical mind, Archie is constantly watching people and trying to decipher what they're feeling, thinking or why they're doing a certain thing. It's not always good because when people just want small talk with the guy, Archie ends up reading too much into it, making him not the best at it - but very good at deep talks. A lot of his frat brothers come to talk to him because Archie is so easygoing and approachable which will make him an excellent psychologist in the future.

"I mean, I can't exactly hate life at Fulton - especially being a Beta. We can get a bad rep from some of the lower houses, but that's for sure just pure jealousy. No one does, well, anything as good as us Betas. We may not be the Sigma's but I'll be damned if someone thinks we don't know how to throw a fucking amazing party. Not only that but I genuinely see the other Betas as my brothers, not just 'frat bros', we're a real family and I know that I - at least - have always got their backs."
AFTER COLLEGE ||
"It feels pretty damn good to finally know what I wanna do with my life and I won't let anyone get in my way. Sure I enjoy partying and lighting up with my friends but that doesn't mean I'm not still completely focused on getting my degree, becoming a psychologist and returning to Haiti - at least for a few years."
Archie is one of the lucky students at Fulton, he doesn't have his parents dictating his future and so has been free to choose his own path in life. Currently, Archie plans to get his degree and start working locally as a psychologist, when he feels he is experienced enough, Archie will then go back to Haiti and help all those children he promised himself he would many years ago.

HEIGHT 182CM/5'11.5" / CHEST 81CM/32"
WAIST 66CM/26" / WEIGHT 126LBS
Archie is a fit young man, he makes sure that he works out and often goes to the gym along with most of his frat brothers. His build is tall yet not lanky, he fills out his clothes but could definitely not be defined as fat.
DEEP BROWN / ALMOST BLACK
Being quite proud of his hair, Archie makes sure to always keep it in pristine condition and whenever it's beginning to get too long he'll go visit his favourite barber. Archie keeps his hair typically short at the sides but long on top.
GREEN / HAZEL
One of Archie's most stand out features are his eyes. The contrast of his incredibly dark hair against his light eyes is certainly striking and makes Archie look even more attractive. People often ask if he's wearing contacts which is annoying but usually just makes Archie laugh and shake his head.
Archie has rather a lot of tattoos, consisting of a crescent moon on his left arm, a Hamsa hand tattooed on his chest and a rose on his arm. His piercings are his septum (which his family weren't too happy about) and his left nipple which no one but his friends know about - because Archie knows both his Grandparents in particular would not be happy.
CASUAL / STYLISH
No one really has a style like Archie, he has his own sense of fashion and likes to keep thing casual but usually with a cool twist. One day he could be wearing your typical shirt and jeans combo, but mix it up with ripped jeans and a weird denim shirt. Or he has an even he needs to dress up for, Archie would probably opt for the smart casual look but spice it up with a different blazer to the usual plain black one.
LANGUAGES
Archie can speak French, Portuguese, Haitian Creole and of course, English.
