Childhood/Family Life:
Eliza Li grew up with one brother and her parents. Dad, Chen Li, was a doctor, mom, Jennifer Li, stayed at home and her brother was annoying. It was a pretty standard affair. Almost too idyllic for Eliza. The expectations were high on her and and her brother, Matthew, from the beginning. Matthew was pretty a-ok with the plan. He was good at science anyway and was scarily interested in surgery. Eliza wasn't cut out for the medical profession or lawyering. Still, her parents weren't exactly ride or die on the whole 'two doctor kids' plan. Eliza tried to be good at science at least, often turning to Matthew for extra help to keep her GPA score up.

Eliza was good with computers though, often tucking herself away to teach herself something else that a computer might be able to do. She also became the family's built in tech support, even though most issues could be solved with crtl-alt-delete or turning it off and back on, not that Eliza was complaining. At least none of them had blown anything up inside. In high school, Eliza fell in love with video games and was pretty much set on working in the industry once she got to the world of work. She was talked out of majoring in game design by her dad, who pointed out that nothing was guaranteed and game design was a pretty specialist subject to major in. With the exception of biology and chemistry, Eliza was pretty consistent across her subjects. Sure, there were some she had to work a little harder at, but she wasn't woefully bad at any of them.

Eliza pretty much kept her head down at school. She had a few friends but she wasn't queen bee. Truth be told, Eliza preferred it that way. She'd rather have a few good friends that she could trust than be surrounded by people who were just waiting for her to screw up. She dated, but there wasn't really anyone serious, especially since books and video games were taking up all her time. That and the small issue of her dad hating just about any guy Eliza mentioned on faith. No one was good enough for his daughter. He didn't have to meet them, he just knew. Her mom was way more laid back about boys, but Eliza never bought any home. She was, and remains, a complete daddy's girl at heart. To say that Chen Li was anxious about his daughter going away to college was an understatement, but he managed to come to terms with his anxieties when Eliza was accepted in Fulton.

Quirks//Habits//Oddities:
Eliza is a corner folder. All her books have dogeared pages
Flaps her hands when she's thinking
Talks to the rubber duck on her desk way too much for any sane person
Drinks insane amounts of ginger and lemon tea.

Good personality traits:
Compassionate|| Curious|| Patient|| Loyal|| Laidback

Bad personality traits:
Stubborn|| Fickle|| Indecisive|| Naive

Personality:
The majority of people who know Eliza would describe her as being laid back. For the most part, this is true. Eliza is very laid back and has a very long temper with the people around her. Rather than getting angry at setbacks, Eliza takes them in her stride and changes the plan accordingly. With her patience, Eliza stays calm in a crisis, and is pretty good at keeping a cool head when the situation starts to heat up. Eliza is intensely loyal to her friends and often goes above and beyond to make them happy. She has a very dry sense of humour and can be very sarcastic with her friends. Eliza is a very principled person and she holds true to his beliefs. She doesn't like to be proven wrong about things, but she will, eventually, own up and be the bigger person, adapting her world view to fit with the new information.

Eliza is very careful with people's feelings, and tries to find the best way not to hurt anyone's feelings, even if that means her own get hurt. She hates to be the one to dish out the harsh home truths to people and usually just lets people get on with their own lives. Eliza is the kind of girl who will always have your back in a fight unless. She refuses to take sides among friends however. It really is more trouble than it's worth. She tends to avoid arguments, but when she's in the wrong, she will apologise as soon as she can, sometimes, straight after the words have left her mouth. If she believes that the other person is in the wrong, she will hold a grudge until they've apologised and then, as far as she is concerned, that's the end of it. She can be the kind of person to give someone way too many second chances, but she does try to see the best in everyone, even if no one else can see it.

Eliza is a naturally curious person, who has to know the ins and outs of everything. When she finds something that really takes his interest, she can be almost childishly enthusiastic about it, often becoming an avid collector of anything related to the subject and speaking about it at a mile a minute. Eliza likes being around people and comes into her own when she's within a group, so long as she knows a few of them quite well. Large crowds of strangers aren't her favourite thing, unless she knows she has something in common with them. She often has several personal projects on the go, and can seem to be quite scatter-brained with all these things to do, bouncing from one to the other. Eliza can be very indecisive at times, and hates being limited to just one option. She'd rather have a whole myriad of options open to her and explore each one, often going back on what she's decided for another option, making her seem a little fickle at times.

Greatest joys in life:
Video games, Her brother Matthew, Late mornings, Summer Rain

Greatest fears:
Having no one

Life philosophy:
Kick ass and be kind

Thoughts on Greek Life:
Eliza wasn't really expecting to enjoy Greek life. When she filled out her application for Fulton, she wasn't even considering joining a sorority. Curiosity got the better of her during her first few weeks and she checked out the houses and totally fell in love with the Theta Chi girls. She couldn't have asked for a better group of people to fall in with. The later benefits weren't really something she considered at first, but she knew that they were there.

Plans for after college:
Ideally, Eliza wants to go into games design after she graduates. She knows landing a job with a big name company straight from college is unlikely, but she'll make it one day.

Image

Image
Build:
Eliza has a slight build and stands at 5'5.

Hair Colour:
Brown

Eye Colour:
Brown

Distinguishing Marks:
Eliza has a scar on her left forearm. She ran into a door when she was a kid and caught her arm on the latch.

Style:
Eliza favours comfort over style. She can generally be found wearing loose harem pants and oversized jumpers. If it starts to get cold, she might be found wearing jeans. She usually wears earthy tones in her clothes. She has a tiger eye bracelet that she always wears that was a gift from her mom. Eliza only wears dresses for special occasions, and even then it is with much grumbling.

So begins...

Location: Miami, Florida, USA
Time: 8:15 PM
Most people spend Sunday trying to prepare themselves for the droll and unwanted responsibilities that come about come the dreaded Monday morning. They sip their tea, drink that last bit of wine, and lay in bed trying to decide if they're really going to be petty enough to pretend like they're sick in this call to their office, scrounging up every excuse in the book as to why they can't go to work, school, or wherever the daylight happens to take them. However, for the students at Fulton University, instead of the lackadaisical doings of their typical Sunday evenings, the air around campus (and throughout the city) is alive with anticipation as people pre-game and prepare for a night of carefree drinking, dancing, and even drama...

...especially drama, particularly when the Greek life students are involved.

Some students are still in dorms, apartments and houses getting ready for the Guys in Ties & Girls in Pearls event hosted by Fulton's own Greek Life Alumna Association. Girls are just finishing the finishing touches to their hair or just sliding into velvet dresses, lacing up and slipping into heels of various styles. Sipping on glasses of wine or champagne, giggling over their shared excitement over how the night could unfold and the plans they've already made. Maybe even the tipsiness they already have. And guys are fastening on cuff links, straightening up the suits some just got from dry-cleaning or delivered by their favorite tailoring services. Quaffing glasses of scotch or taking shots to the head in preparation for how absolutely trashed they're bound to be by night's end.

Regardless of where everyone is - even those who are known for being rather prompt as opposed to fashionably late - it's bound to be a night of sensuous, luxurious, riveting and possibly even scandalous fun...so just like the Alumna Association asked on twitter, where can we find you?

Location: Kappa House || Danny's Bedroom
Outfit: Black and Grey Suit
Hex Code: #804080

Traffic is a bitch.

This was all Danny had time to think about as he stormed from his car, into the almost empty Kappa house, up the stairs, and to his bedroom. He should have left home early that morning, but his mom wanted him to come to church with the family. Danny could never so no to his mother. He didn't leave Orlando until the afternoon. This would normally be okay, but the traffic had other plans. So here he was, running extremely late for the first major social event of the Greek year. He threw open his closet and pulled out the first suit he saw. It was one of his favorites though, paring a black jacket / pants combination with a grey shirt, black tie, and black collar. He must admit to himself as he peeked in the mirror, he looked "fresh as hell", as he would probably tell Ben later on that night. Danny smiled at himself and peered back into his closet for shoes and a belt. He selected his pointed grey Tom Ford dress shoes with laces and its matching belt. Funny enough, his suit was also Tom Ford. Danny didn't just like to match color and concept wise, but he was typically found wearing outfits that were all the same brand.

He paced his way into the bathroom, wondering why the house was so quiet. He hadn't really talked to anyone all weekend, opting to focus on his family. Nick was probably with Amaris, but where were Ben and Hayden. Danny reached into a drawer and pulled out his favorite cologne: Bleu de Chanel. He sprayed it on his, rubbed it into his hands, and rubbed his hands along the outside of his sleeves. This was his typical cologne routine, just as his father had taught him before his first date. After brushing his teeth, Danny pulled out his phone and shot out a couple of texts.

TO: Nick Reyes
I assume you're with Amaris... tell her she better save me a dance tonight. :)

TO: Hayden
Where you at bro? Just got back, headed to the party in a second! See ya there? You better show!

Danny slipped his phone in his front right pocket and went back to his room to grab his wallet. Just as he grabbed the Versace wallet his father had given him for his 18th birthday, he heard Benjamin's announcement from the lobby, "If you're riding with me, you've got two minutes to get your ass downstairs and into the uber!" Danny hustled out of his room, only stopping to grab a wine cooler from his mini fridge on the way out. He descended the stairs just as Benjamin was shutting the door. He followed him and slid into the car just before it took off. He looked at Ben jokingly, "Way to rush me out the door bro. I hope I didn't forget anything." he laughed as he turned his attention to the people they passed outside of the window. Now that he thought about it, he really hoped he had his Student ID. He pulled his wallet from his back left pocket and smiled with relief when he saw the card in the top slot. Daniel took the down time to send a few more texts between sips of his cherry wine cooler.

TO: Daisy ;)
Headed to the party. You wearing that dress I like? ;)

TO: Eliza ღ
What time will you get to the party? Can't wait to see you! Missed you this weekend!

Danny's standing with both girls was confusing. Him and Eliza (or El as he called her) had been on a few dates, but things had faded over the summer. He had no idea where her head was. Daisy, on the other hand, had always intrigued Danny. He didn't know if there was a serious emotional connection, but he would smash in a second if given the chance. He didn't want to mess up their playful friendship though. While lost in his own thoughts he noticed Ben glancing nervously at his phone over and over again.

"You good bro? Is it YaYa? Danny made sure to place a note of concern in his voice. He didn't like seeing his friend down. You gotta quit being down over that. It's either gonna work or it won't. Whatever happens will be for the best though. I can tell you that. Don't be nervous! I'm pretty sure she's thinking the same you are." Danny smiled at his friend. He really looked up to Ben, so it was weird to be trying to give him advice. But Danny knew the situation between Ben and YaYa and wanted to see it resolved for Ben's sake.

From the entrance of the kitchen, a sharp left and following the length of the hallway, and Amaris was in the great room of the Theta Chi house, eyes trained on her phone as she began to receive text messages from her babies. She hadn't heard anything from Eliza, which was why she immediately set to text her Little in favor of knowing where the girl was. She had also gotten a text from Eliana, which led to Nick holding the front door open for her (he did it anyway, so it wasn't like she was moving without knowledge of the happenings all around her) and responded to that as well just as they were halfway down the neat brick-lined pathway which was framed by neatly-trimmed green grass on either side. Amaris made a habit of parking across the street from the house, particularly so that her Bentley wouldn't suffer from direct exposure to the sun (nothing to worry about tonight, obviously) when the daytime returned. She was sliding her cell phone back into her clutch just as Nick reached over to grasp her elbow, assisting her in taking the step off the curb. She smiled.

To: Eli
Aren't we? He thinks he's gonna be the sober one tonight and something tells me I'm going to be the one driving us home with all the drinks he'll be offered lol. On our way

To: Liz
How are you getting to the party? It'll be a tight fit, but are you still home? I can give a ride.

"Such a gentleman," she commented quietly, a playful glint in her eyes as she peered over at him from under her long dark lashes and Nick rolled his eyes. "Stop flirting with me," he replied with a raised, daring eyebrow and Amaris chuckled quietly, stopping only when they had arrived at her car and heard Daisy exiting the house as well. While Amaris beamed at the girl's compliment, Nick flushed and hurried to unlock the vehicle, clicking the button and opening the front passenger door for Amaris. "Please, babe, you're a doll," she said, a bit of a response for the both of them since Nick offered a quiet "Thanks!" as he reached through the front passenger side to put the key into the ignition and at least start the car up. Luckily, simply because it was Florida but also because global warming left the night warmer than it typically was this time of the year, they wouldn't have to turn a little heat on. "I figured, since it's senior year, there was no point in not showing off," Amaris continued to explain as Nick moved out of her way so that she could enter the car. Once she was seated and was looking back at her phone (she really should just keep it in hand at this point), he was opening the back passenger side door for Daisy, inquiring loudly so that Amaris could hear from the back, "Is Yuda coming?" Amaris nodded for a second as she set to type out responses to the Theta Chi alumni she knew were already at the venue and Yuda herself. "Yeah, should be coming down now." Once Daisy was in, Nick closed the door for her and as he walked to the driver's side of the car, he pulled his own phone out to see no response from Wes. Which made him frown, a sort of deflation in his mood due to the disappointment and uncertainty he had yet to truly verbalize or confront, but he hurried up to fix his expression and shove his phone back into his pocket in favor of getting inside the car.

To: Yuda
At the car. Parked across the street.

To: Ya Ya
Thanks, love. Though I'm pretty sure you're already there looking like a supermodel and whatnot.

As soon as Danny and Ben arrived at the party, Ben was off. Danny rolled his eyes. Of course his friend was gonna run right to YaYa. Not that Danny objected. He wanted Ben to be happy, and YaYa made him happy... until she started talking to other guys. Then Ben would get pissed off, come to him upset, and the cycle would begin again. After taking a seat at the bar, Danny watched Ben wander for a second before spotting Ayala. It was almost funny to watch. Ben seemed to shoot out of a cannon towards the girl. Danny turned his focus elsewhere when he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He spun the bar chair around and leaned his back against the bar.

When he read the text from Hayden, he chuckled out loud. That boy was like his brother. They were close enough that Danny could laugh off Hayden's freshman year crush. The other text from Daisy left a smile across his face. He couldn't lie. She was right. She looked good in anything to him. Danny wanted Daisy. There was no denying that. The problem was that she was tight with Eliza, and the feeling he felt at this moment when he realized he had no reply from her. That muddled things, but he couldn't let it stop him from having fun. Not until he was sure about Eliza at least. He shook off the inner dilemma and went to type out his replies.

TO: Hayden
lol just get here fast.... Ben ditched me for you know who.

TO: Daisy ;)
You're right ya know ;) I'm chilling at the bar. Come see me when you get here?

The party was filling up, but Danny's friends were absent so far. He swung back around to face the bar and waved the bartender over to order a drink. As he waited he pulled out his fake ID. He'd be 21 soon, and he could throw it away. He slipped the ID across the marble bar top. The bartender took a glance and slid it back to him. These bartenders weren't too concerned with underage drinking. Danny smirked to himself before looking up to order, "I'll take a glass of Johnny Walker Blue Label on the rocks. Please and thank you." Danny slid the bartender his card. When his order arrived, he leaned back and relaxed as he sipped his liquor.

ELIZA LI

[size=80]Location: Theta Chi house her bedroom

Dialogue color=#88a899

Eliza looked up from her computer screen. She blinked. The time didn't change. How could it be that time already? Eliza sighed and saved her work before spinning her chair away from her screen. She needed to stop doing that; getting so absorbed in her work that she lost her already fragile track of time. Eliza stood and stretched, a groan escaping her body as she arched her back. When she had told her mom about the formal, she had insisted that her daughter was getting a new dress. The whole thing still seemed a bit ridiculous to Eliza. A whole new dress for one night. She looked at the red number. It wasn't what she usually wore, in fact it couldn't be further away from her usual uniform if it tried, but her mom insisted that she looked amazing in it.

Eliza grabbed a quick shower. As she climbed out of the shower, she heard her phone buzz. She picked it up from her desk and saw Danny's name light up the screen. Her heart flipped. No, nooo, bad heart. We do not flip when we see Danny's name. Danny's just a guy, she told herself. Yeah, but he's a cute guy. "Snuffie, my subconscious is a traitor, don't ever get one," she said to the rubber duck on her desk. Eliza opened the text.

From:Danny
What time will you get to the party? Can't wait to see you! Missed you this weekend!

Her heart flipped again as she read the text. This was ridiculous. She dropped the phone onto her bed and began dressing. There was no point texting him right now, she'd just embarrass herself. She liked Danny, there was no denying that. She liked him a lot. But she wasn't one of those girls that could just walk up to a guy and ask where they stand. Eliza was something of a wallflower and she was happy like that, but sometimes, she envied Michaela and Amaris their sky-high confidence. This was one of those times.

When Eliza was sure that she was ready, besides her hair, she grabbed her phone from her bed and text Danny back.

To: Danny
I'm still getting ready. Me and my bad sense of timing. I'll let you know when I'm on my way.

That left her with one thing to figure out. How were they getting there? Sure, she could shout through the house for Amaris and ask her, or she could just text. Amaris would know, she always did. As the thought occurred to her, her phone buzzed again. Danny didn't usually respond that fast.

From:Amaris
How are you getting to the party? It'll be a tight fit, but are you still home? I can give a ride.

To:Amaris
Still here. Lost track of time again. Gimme a minute or so, and I'll be down

Eliza dropped her phone back on her bed and checked her face in the mirror. Acting on her mom's advice, she kept her make up light. 'Let the dress do the talking'. She had a pink tint on her lips and a soft brown shadow swept over her lids. Jesus being a girl was a nightmare sometimes. She swept her hair over her shoulder. Anything more would have been overkill. Eliza studied her reflection for a moment. She looked good. Really good. Smiling with a sense of confidence, as fragile as it was, Eliza skipped downstairs, her heels clicking on the steps as she did.

As she stepped outside, Eliza looked up to see her sisters waiting for her, with Nicholas who was by Amaris's side as usual. She took each of them in. Yuda in pink, Daisy in black and Amaris in a red number that Eliza would never be able to pull off even on her best days. "Sorry I kept you waiting. You guys look amazing. You too Nick."

BLAKE TYLER
Image
Location: On Route to the event
Outfit: suit
Dialogue color: #593c59

Blake tapped the steering wheel. Why was there always traffic when he needed to be somewhere? If he was being honest, he'd rather be back home with Rose and Johnny than going to this formal. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy them, they were great if the company was good, but the company back home was better. Blake smiled at the thought of his siblings. Rose was doing great at school, to the point she was making the teachers look inept. Mom was talking about finally moving her to a school for gifted students. Blake had no idea where Rose got her brains from, but he was glad that she had them. Johnny, it turned out, was going to be the family sports star. He'd been accepted onto the school football team and had spent most of the weekend talking Blake's ear off about it, as ten year olds only could. Taking advantage of the stop-start traffic, Blake opened his phone menu and dictated a message to Cyrus.

To:Cyrus
I'm on my way. Traffic is a nightmare, how dare it? Has the apocalypse started without me?

As he finished speaking, the traffic opened up, Blake began to pick up speed as his sleek, black BMW rolled through the late evening. Sure, he might not like his dad, Blake thought as he changed gear, but he was quite happy to spend his money. Mom was the trophy wife, he was the trophy son. Surely the same rules applied? He dictated another message, this time to Amaris.

To:Amaris
You're going to this formal, right? I will be very disappointed if you aren't. There'll be pouty faces and everything

Yuda made a quick dash from the upstairs bedroom down to the living quarters and out the front door, trying not to trip on her heels. She hoped no one would be too upset that she was running a fraction of a second late. She's usually punctual, but tomgight was gonna be pretty hectic so it might as well start hectic. She fixed her hair as she ran it the spot Amaris' Bentley was usually parked in. It was pretty far from the house because something about sun exposure, she doesn't really know or care. She immediately swung the door to car open, and basically forced her way next to Eliza. Which reminded she forgot to text Eliza, oops. Well she was here now and that's all that really matters. "Hey everyone."She said, sort out of breath. She didn't really run to the care it was more of a run walk because who can even run efficiently in heels. You all look pretty good, be careful not to outshine me." She teased as she took out her phone to respond to a text she had gotten.

To: Naomi
In your dreams sweetie, see you at the party and ALWAYS check the drink if someone offers you one.

She put her phone back into her purse and looked up at everyone. I have all the feminine necessities you might need ladies, so don't be afraid to ask She said, sort of proud of herself that she had become kind of a reliable friend. Well, I am all ready to go.

The bar area became very congested very quickly. It was an interesting mix of people, including a few people that Danny wasn't very fond of. Danny noted how fast Ayala got flirty with another guy right in front of Ben. Okay, maybe she wasn't being a flirt, but still. It was almost like clockwork. As soon as things were okay, she was talking to other guys. Danny chose not to say anything though. Ben was gonna do what he wanted. Danny just didn't want him getting hurt. He smiled when Ben approached. "Who're you waiting on, kid?" Ben asked him as he got his drink from the bar.

"Daisy, Hayden... Liz, the usual. Nice choice on the drink." He nodded towards the drink in Ben's hand, placing his own in the air for a toast. The boys laughed at their faux toast, and Danny leaned back once again as he checked his phone. He smiled at the text from Liz. He was ready to see her. He just wasn't so sure what he would say. Daisy's text, on the other hand, made Danny beam. He was in a free spirit, do what I want, kind of mood for the night. Daisy was just what he needed. He shot back text to both girls.

TO: Liz ღ
I'll see when you get here then!

TO: Daisy ;)
I'll order us some tequila. Your shots will be here when you get here ;P

He turned back to the bar to examine the selection of tequila. After a minute or so of consideration, Danny settled on Patron Platinum. He waived down the bartender, "I'll take six shots of Patron Platinum... oh and keep it handy. I have a feeling I'll be needing more." Danny smirked as the bartender walked away to fill the order.

Sure enough, about the time the shots arrived, so did Hayden. Danny laughed as he heard the unmistakable joking voice of his best friend. "So, um you come here often?" Hayden laughed along with him, and the friends did their version of the "bro-dap" handshake. Hayden turned to order a Bloody Mary at the bar, and Danny bristled as he spotted Cyrus in the near vicinity. The arrogance on his face made Danny sick. Hayden's next question snapped him out of it, "So, any woman so far that caught your eye?" Danny glanced around playfully.

"Eh.... not really. I think my cup of tea for the night is on her way." He remarked back at Hayden. He didn't say who, though Hayden could probably figure it out.

Once Amaris was sure that Eliza had a ride to the event - and that meaning that she herself could be assured that she had gotten her Little there - Amaris didn't bother responding, she simply filed it away in her head as a positive. She simply went through the rest of her text messages, rolling her eyes on a demand that Ashley be brought back home if she's already white girl wasted because there was no way in hell Amaris was going to permit her to continue on for the night when she knew the other girl's propensity for throwing back vodka as if it were nothing but distilled water. She paused in her rant when she heard Daisy ask if there was any advice to be given and Amaris chuckled, staring down at her nice little paragraph of text and shot Nick a look just as he choked back a small laugh.

"Did you give your boys a speech?" She asked pointedly and Nick only grinned in response. "Didn't have to. Not sure anything could affect our, what did the board call it, historically sublime behavior. Pretty sure five of our guys could walk into a lecture right now and still be considered the sanest in the room." Amaris hummed in agreement, nodding her head along as he spoke before addressing Daisy. "My point exactly. As much as I know the Alphas and Betas give their speeches on good behavior, and the Sigmas and Zetas have a history of perpetuating a disposition of nonchalance, I don't need to tell you girls anything. I don't pretend to think that rebellion against stringency and unnecessary codes of conduct does not exist. You girls are grown and I'm going to treat you like such. Get drunk? At least remember to Uber home if you don't already have a ride. Sleep over at such and such's place? Make your walk of shame look classy and keep it pushing. Our reputation is too pristine for you to really do anything to tarnish it, but also don't push it. I like being the one house on campus everyone else underestimates. We get away with more stuff." Which set Amaris at ease at all times. Regardless of how much the Alphas thought they had more than the Thetas and sometimes even the Zetas sneered down at what they perceived as the Thetas being goody two shoes, at the end of the day, there was a privilege in being a Theta Chi sweetie-pie. People anticipated them to not party hard, to not be stealthy and evasive, to not be like the others. Which meant that their slate remained clean, they got stars across the board for good behavior, and they could still do as they pleased. Theta Chi, for Amaris, had never meant that any of them were inherently innocent. It simply meant that they could be the thorns that covered the roses everyone else assumed they were the caricature of, and no one would think otherwise. And if they did, they had a history that stretched back too far and too pristine for anyone to truly accept such a "lie." She finished her message to a few of the girls and replied to Blake respectively at the end of that thought.

To: Blake
Feeling the love already, baby boy. Omw

"Seems like we're all here," Nick commented as Eliza and Yuda both entered the car, one seamlessly after the other. Which meant they could leave and while Nick was sure he wasn't going to drink anything more for the night, a dirty martini was sounding a bit nicer than he thought it was going to. Amaris beamed at the two girls, though her eyes did linger on Eliza a bit more now that she saw that she and her Little had been on the same wave length with red. "Hello, my darlings, I'm glad we're establishing the goddess titles that we all have. It's nice to be on the same wavelength and all that," she greeted before turning back to Nick. Alright, babe. Let's get this show on the road. Ms. Ndoye is already there and there's a cosmopolitan calling my name."

Eliza squeezed into the back of the car with Yuda and Daisy while Amaris took the shotgun seat. Eliza hadn't intended to match her sister's colour scheme, but the coincidence was a happy one if Amaris's reaction was anything to go by

"Hello, my darlings, I'm glad we're establishing the goddess titles that we all have. It's nice to be on the same wavelength and all that," she turned back to Nick. Alright, babe. Let's get this show on the road. Ms. Ndoye is already there and there's a cosmopolitan calling my name."

Looking around the car, Eliza could quite easily say that there wasn't a single one of her sisters that wasn't gorgeous in her own way. It was a boost to her confidence to have them around her. She'd seen how the Alphas worked, and Eliza wasn't sure she could keep up with that level of cattiness and expectation, but they always looked impossibly perfect. Eliza didn't want to be impossible perfect. She liked being her, flaws and all. And according to Amaris, that made her a goddess.

Eliza felt her phone buzz in her lap and fished her phone out of her bag. She switched the screen on and saw a notification from Danny.

From:Danny
I'll see when you get here then!

To:Danny
We're on our way. ETA ten minutes or so. Don't hold me to that.

When they arrived, Daisy took off, heading straight to the bar. Eliza watched her friend go, smiling as she did. That was so Daisy. In Eliza's mind, besides Amaris, Daisy was the most extroverted one of the group. She was the life and soul of the party. And also the one most likely to get drunk. Each to their own though, Eliza figured. She wasn't one for getting drunk. She'd tried it a few times and didn't really like it. Buzzed, sure, buzzed was good, but she would never be able to keep up with Daisy at the bar.

Eliza's smile dropped when she noticed Danny at the bar, right where Daisy had made a beeline to. She looked away for a moment, her confidence faltering for a moment. She was probably reading way too much into it. Daisy had a lot of friends, Danny was probably just another one. They were just getting a shot together, it's not like they were making out. It's not like Danny and Eliza were even together, so it didn't even matter if they were making out. It would be kind of crappy, but Eliza didn't have any claim to Danny beyond a few dates towards the end of last semester. Eliza rubbed the bridge of her nose. Her life was so much easier when boys hadn't been involved in it. Maybe her dad had been onto something with his no dating policy. It was a headache she could do without.

Yeah, but it's Danny. We like Danny

Eliza smoothed her hair down. Right now, Danny, and where she stood with him, were an issue for another time. Still, at least she wouldn't have to text him to let him know they were there. He could probably figure that out by Daisy being at the bar. She reached for her phone, deciding to check in on Michaela.

To: Mickey
Heey, are you at the party yet? Or do I need to wait a few?

Blake parked his car as his phone buzzed twice. He reached for it and checked the messages, Amaris's first. He smiled to himself at the nickname as he typed his reply.

To:Amaris
Cute. Very cute. I'll make sure there's a drink waiting for you because I'm nice like that.

Blake opened Cyrus's response and his face dropped as he slid down in his seat. Well, that explained why Alexander Sr hadn't been at home. Who in the hell had invited his fa-- Andre. Son of a bitch. Blake climbed out of his car and slammed the door shut. He pocketed his phone and car keys as he headed to the venue and headed straight for the bar, where the blissful sight of Cyrus and a shot awaited him.

"Alexander!"

Blake's foot stopped mid-stride as the familiar and unwelcome sound of his father's voice met his ears. Blake smiled thinly and turned to face his father. For a man approaching his mid-fifties, Alexander Sr didn't look so bad. For an absolute bastard of a father, Alexander Sr had the most punchable face Blake had ever set eyes on. "I go by Blake," he answered, shaking his father's hand in a vice like grip. "I assume Andre invited you? Since he's actually a Beta man."

"Yes, yes he did. You know I was al--"

"Always surprised that I wasn't a third generation legacy. That's wonderful," Blake interrupted, already knowing his father's spiel. "I have friends to meet, networking and what have you. I'm sure you busy being wooed by better people than I." Blake dropped his father's hand and disappeared into the crowd before Alexander Sr could protest. Blake weaved through the crowd to Cyrus.

"You, my friend, are a sight for sore eyes," he said as he picked up the shot glass. He signaled to the bartender. "A Manhattan and a Cosmopolitan, and whatever my friend here wants," he said, tipping his head towards Cyrus. The bartender hesitated a moment. Blake shook his head and pulled his ID out. One of the advantages of having a birthday early in the semester was that by the time these things rolled around, he had already turned twenty one. He knocked the tequila shot back. "I'm blaming Andre for this. Just so you know."

As delicious as the drink was and as tempting as it is to have a dozen more, Maddox decides against it. He's never been a fan of getting drunk, mainly because he'd rather have full control over his on actions. Luckily a couple of heavy drinks aren't enough to send him mumbling and stumbling. Tipsy perhaps, but still in his wits. "You will have a long night if I have any say in it.". The corner of Mad's lips curl upwards the slightest bit. There are infinitely many answers to that statement, but the blonde is clearly not looking for a response this time. "So, you've met the famous Reid James tonight. Did you know he's a news anchor?" The forced enthusiasm in Cyrus' voice pulls a soft chuckle out of Maddox. It's amazing what one can do for the sake of appearances. "Of course, he's everything I thought he'd be" he states with is fictitious admiration, knowing Cyrus will understand. That's perhaps the most honest sentence Maddox has said all night. With the way Cyrus talked about Reid James, Maddox imagined him to be just like his own father, and that he was. Two tequila shots are slid across the bar in the blonde's direction, causing Mad's eyebrows to raise, ready with a comment on how he'd probably end up driving them both home tonight but is momentarily distracted by the scene just a few chairs down. He watches as Archie maneuvers his way through a conversation with three girls, and can't help but send a tease in his direction as well as responding to Abby's incoming message.

[To: Archie – I see you take after your big brother well :) ]

[To: Abby - Good. You're the only girl I want to dance with tonight]

As flirtatious as that may sound, Abigail knows him well enough to know there's no hidden meaning behind it. "A Manhattan and a Cosmopolitan, and whatever my friend here wants,". With a turn of his head, Maddox spots Blake Tyler now standing near them ordering several drinks. After glancing at his own empty glass, he shoots the bartender a quick wave. "Those are on me he says, shooting his usual heart winning smile in Cyrus and Blake's general direction before turning back to the bartender. "As well as a Gin and Tonic, please and thank you". One more drink can't hurt, and he certainly isn't anywhere near being drunk. The bartender slides each of them their drinks and Maddox doesn't hesitate to take his own.

"Maddy!" drink in hand, Maddox turns in the direction of the unfamiliar voice. The girl's face doesn't look all that familiar either, but she clearly knows who he is and for his own good, he needs to remember who she is. "How've you been? You look really good in that suit" she chimes, while Maddox scrambles to remember her name. Abby...Annie...?

"Allie?" the satisfied smile on the girl's face immediately tells him he's spot on. "Well, look at you. As beautiful as ever" He compliments, shading her cheeks a light pink. Mad's always had a knack for remembering names and faces and it always comes in handy. As Allie carries on more of a one sided conversation, Maddox's eyes drift towards a lonely brunette in the middle of the room. One he actually remembers. Setting his empty glass aside, he sends Allie the most convincing apologetic smile he can manage. "I'm so sorry, Allie, I don't mean to be rude but there's something very urgent I need to talk to someone about. I will search for you later and we can have that dance, yes?" he says, leaving her with a wink and a fresh drink. He also shoots Cyrus a quick I'll be seeing you later look before heading towards Eliza. The less time spent near the blondie, the better. As he walks closer to the brunette, she finally notices him and he responds with a soft smile.

"Alone by coincidence or by choice?"

To: Blake
Such a gentleman. How ever am I going to repay you?

Amaris was just a bit slower than Eliza and Daisy in getting to the bar inside the venue, but it was definitely her destination once she finished schmoozing, as they all joked that the Alphas and Betas were wont to do at any chance that they got. Just the thought made her smirk, but there was no denying that that was exactly what Amaris was doing. The second they had all exited her Bentley and Nick had gone to park elsewhere (he had decided to drop them all at the entrance so that the girls didn't have to do too much walking in their heels) since the place was packed, Amaris had been swept away by a couple of alumni, the majority of whom were alum Thetas and Kappas, and two who were Alphas. As much as the cosmopolitan she knew Blake had gotten her was calling her name, there was no way in hell she wasn't about to charm her way into more money for the Thetas and at least several internship possibilities for her Theta and Kappa babies. Particularly since Ms. Ndoye, a former Theta Chi president, was living in Atlanta and had a host of charitable events that the girls could collaborate in.

"House of Ruth was such a...humbling and inspiring environment when I visited," she remarked upon their entrance into the rather spacious and luxurious modern home turned venue for the evening. "I am more than certain our girls would feel honored to come and volunteer, at least with providing an Easter meal for them in the spring semester. While it might be a bit last minute now for them to have to change plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, particularly with the resurgence of mid-term and final cram sessions, I'm pretty sure if we sit them down before at least Christmas and incite a conversation on how they want to go about things during the spring, we will more than likely be able to participate." During a visit to Atlanta for a talk with Ntozake Shange and a host of other black feminists who sat on a panel at one of the schools in Atlanta, Amaris had happened upon a representative for House of Ruth who was incredibly close with one of the professors. After a conversation or two, and discovering their shared Fulton University affiliation, she had kept contact with the woman since last semester and they had promised to have more conversation on the Thetas participating.

"I look forward to the collaboration, my dear," Ms. Ndoye stated warmly and Amaris smiled at the hum of agreement in the air. "And might I just say, if I hadn't before, that this is a new look for you, Miss Hamilton. You look really nice." Amaris could feel the telltale flush alight her cheeks and her smile grew as she ducked her head shyly before swiping back a stray curl. "Thank you, ma'am." She glanced about them to see that they were only a room away from where she knew the bar was going to be and when she turned back to the group, a few more had been added. And Amaris knew then that that was when she needed to leave. Not because she couldn't handle anymore people, but their conversation wouldn't steer back into the direction that it had been in and it would take her the rest of the night to do so. "With all due respect, ma'am, I think you all did a wonderful job on the venue and you should enjoy your evening accordingly. I'll try to find you before the night is out or give you a call first thing tomorrow?" A response of affirmation was given and Amaris smiled cordially, shaking a few newer hands, and then parting ways with the crowd.

It didn't take long for Amaris to find the bar, especially considering the people lined up alongside it. Running a hand through her soft, dense curls, Amaris ran her eyes over the room, not particularly looking for anyone, just scoping out the room. It seemed that the louder and slightly more rambunctious music was being played outside as the atmosphere seemed jovial yet calmer inside. It made sense; considering how many people could be found inside closer to this bar and the various seating areas, this atmosphere required the networking and conversing crowds as opposed to outside where current students would probably benefit more from letting loose in lieu of upcoming exams, both for Fulton and for the various graduate studies institutions they would more than likely have to prepare themselves for. It was a bit of a reach as far as reaches went, but the thought of examinations and graduate school brought Eliana to Amaris' mind and she took the time out to text her girl before walking in the direction of the bar, smiling at a few familiar faces as she went.

To: Eli
I'm here. Nick's parking, but I'm getting a drink with Blake.

It didn't take Amaris long to find the aforementioned Sigma and while she wasn't necessarily close with the Sigma he was currently with, it wouldn't be Amaris if she couldn't identify one of the few Sigmas with stark white hair. Painted lips curving into a smirk, she approached from behind Blake, wrapping her arms around his waist and (with the assistance of her heels) resting her chin on his shoulder. "Good evening, gentleman," she greeted, eyes initially on Cyrus out of respect before said eyes lit up as she turned them to meet Blake's gaze on a grin. "Hello, handsome. I do believe I was promised a drink earlier."

It wouldn't be Mickey if she didn't immediately find where the livest music was at any place a party was hosted at and considering she wasn't in the mood for rich snobs and networking on a Sunday night (that honestly could have been spent with the homemade cheesecake she was letting firm up in the fridge and the rest of her marijuana), she had immediately found herself dragging Jazmyn to the pool area. Not only was she more entranced by the outside air and general easy-going atmosphere, the music was a touch better, there was still a bar outside and there was a pool. Being near a pool where there were lounges and such meant fun. Being inside with a bunch of old wealthy people trying to both relive their glory days and act all high-and-mighty now that they were gray (which totally had her thinking that some of these guys were sipping from the fountain of youth because there was no way in hell you could convince Mickey that these men had been in the class of 1975) just wasn't the business and once she and Jaz had gotten at least two shots of tequila in, it was lit. At least, for Mickey, once she had wandered off and found herself talking (yelling) with the DJ over the music. Come to find out, they had even DJed for the same place once or twice before, and that he had been to one of the parties she had DJed at back in Los Angeles. She also made sure to text Eliana.

To: Mama Li
Good news, I'm here. By the pool. W/ the DJ. Bad news, tequila is bomb and my car keys are kinda in my wallet in my pocket. Don't worry, honeybear. You know I don't drink much.

It probably wasn't going to convince her Big to just let her drive home after the night was over, though it was debatable whether or not Mickey was going to feel like listening once the time came. This wasn't one of the times where Mickey just didn't bother with listening or adhering to authority. Unlike a few people in this world, Michaela actually respected Eliana more than most. It probably helped that this was her Big and so their connection had to be something for the two of them to work as well as they did, but still. Eli earned Mickey's respect and for that, Michaela listened from time to time. The music changed to a dubstep R&B mix and Mickey nodded in enjoyment, giving a thumbs up to the DJ. "Dude, that's sick," she commented loudly and he grinned, earning one in response from her. Michaela looked over the crowd outside before turning back to the guy, moving one of his headphones out of the way so that he could definitely hear her. "Headed to the bar. You want anything?" Once she got his order and gave a confirmation of its reception with two thumbs up, Mickey was sidling by the group of dancers and headed to the outside bar when it occured to her that she hadn't heard much from Charlotte yet, which just didn't do. There was rarely a party she had attended since meeting the Arnault that she didn't get to have the brunette by her side, so while one of the bartenders was focused on another guest, Mickey whipped her phone back out to text Charlotte and respond to Eliza, belated realizing that Cyrus and Cas had text her.

To: Lottie
I'm hurt babe. No response, no nothing. Starting to feel unloved.

To: Lizzie
hey babe!! I'm poolside

To: Cas

To: Cyrus

"How do you do it?" Hudson and Audrey had allowed Weston and Charlotte to go off and get to know each other, since that kind of seemed like a necessary step in two strangers suddenly dating each other. Hudson had picked up drinks for himself and the Alpha President, and caught up with her a few minutes later, to find her doing what she did best - wowing people. She was involved in a conversation with an Alpha alum, who Hudson immediately recognized as Emily Perry, a girl who had been Alpha president a few years before he had even gotten to Fulton. Hudson was only privy to who she was, because his Big, who had graduated a year before, had always spoken about the insane crush that he had on the girl. Hudson had met her a few times, mostly at events like this, where she returned as an alum, when she was able to get time off from work. Like most Alphas, she was already highly successful, moving her way up the ranks at Nordstrom's department store in the administration field, all while additionally working on her own swimwear line that was supposed to launch at the department store in a few months. His own Big's obsession with this girl probably played a role in why Hudson had developed his own on Audrey. His Big had instilled in him that the Alpha girls were perfect, and that they were more than just one-night-stand-goals. They were wife goals, and if you found one that was perfect enough to actually make you think about marriage, you couldn't let her go. In addition to Emily, whose mere presence only made Hudson focus on Audrey more, the group consisted of a few older women and men, who were introduced as Beta and Alpha alumni. Hudson conversed with the Beta alumni more than the Alpha, but he listened intently to what Audrey was saying, and how she always seemed to know exactly what to say.

When the conversation fizzled out, Hudson and Audrey excused themselves and gravitated towards a

"Hmm?" she answered, her eyebrows furrowing only slightly in confusion as she looked at Hudson over the drink she was raising towards her lips. After taking a sip, she pulled the glass away and stirred the straw in it around some, deciding that it had tasted too strong at first. Audrey always loved a good buzz, but events like these were not just for fun. They were for networking, and she would be damned if she ended up making a fool of herself for the sake of a few cocktails. There was a time and a place for being sloppy, and the Guys in Ties and Girls in Pearls event was not that kind of place.

"How do you do everything so... flawlessly?" he marveled, resting against a high top table that they were standing by.

"You're sweet, Hudson, but isn't it time for you to go woo a girl who's actually going to end up in your bed tonight? I don't want to take away from your sexual endeavors, you know," she said, giving him a pointed, yet playful look. She had to find her girls anyway, after reading and leaving Ya Ya's text unanswered. She hadn't seen the junior all afternoon, and she missed her Ya Ya, for one, and secondly, had to make sure that she (and the rest of her girls) weren't being swarmed by all of the people that Audrey was sure would be attracted to them tonight, given how good they looked. Then, after she checked in on her Alphas and maybe mingled a bit more with some of the alumni at the event, she certainly needed to physically check on Charlotte. Until then, though, she opted to send the brunette a text instead.

To: Charlotte
Are we behaving ourselves?

To: Ya Ya
Coming to find you, my love <3

Hudson could only smirk at Audrey, trying to read her more deeply, but deciding that she was probably right. If she didn't want anything fun to come out of tonight, it wasn't going to do him any good to cling to her like a lost puppy. There were Betas to mingle with, current Beta brothers to monitor, drinks to down, and like Audrey said, girls to woo. When Audrey walked off, he finished off the glass of scotch he had been drinking, and headed towards the bar for round two. That wasn't before crossing paths with Maddox, who was talking to some Theta girl. Hudson didn't slow his pace, but smirked at Maddox in passing and offered him a thumbs up, a reference to the demand that his boys needed approval to take a Theta home for the night. He didn't make it to the bar after that anyway, due to being intercepted by a few Beta alumni members.

Audrey made it to the bar with fewer interruptions, though she was tempted to approach Naomi first, since the girl was standing a few feet from the bar, but still within sight's view. She had seen her earlier, though, so getting to Ya Ya seemed more urgent. Spotting her near Archie, Audrey graced the pair with a smile, ignoring the irrelevant Zetas who stood nearby. "She never fails to impress, does she?" Audrey smiled, looking to Archie and nodding at Ya Ya. "I can't say that I was happy with you abandoning us earlier, but given that this is the finished product, I'll forgive you for it," she teased.

Eliza checked her phone to see the text from Mickey. She looked around the room, planning her pathway to the pool, and apparently getting in people's way while she did. She apologised quietly as she shifted to the side. Pool, pool, who decided there was going to be a pool at this thing anyway. It's not like any of them were dressed for a pool party. God alumni events were stressful. She should have made plans to meet with people beforehand before flying in unprepared. Of course, none of this would be an issue if she wasn't so scatterbrained half the time. Eliza took a deep breath. She was a confident, smart young woman, who looked incredible tonight. She was powerful, and

And oh God, Danny was dancing with Daisy. Eliza felt her stomach drop as she saw them. Jesus Christ, Eliza get a grip. It's a crush. You went on a few dates, she told herself. From the corner of her eye, she spotted someone heading towards her. She didn't recognise him, not on sight. She looked around herself, no one else seemed to have spotted him and he was looking right at her, a smile forming on his face. "Alone by coincidence or by choice?"

Yep, definitely here for her. Life had apparently taken a crazy turn. She didn't get approached by boys at these kind of things. Not ones that looked or dressed like him anyway. "A little of column A, a little of column B? My, ah, friends are a little busy," she said, indicating to Danny and Daisy, "Wouldn't wanna interrupt them or anything like that. Sorry," she caught herself before she could babble too much, "Eliza, hi," she waved at him awkwardly. She was good at many things, casual conversations and flirting with strange boys who walked from the bar to talk to her was not one of them.

"Those are on me, As well as a Gin and Tonic, please and thank you."

Blake held his hands up as Maddox shot him a winning smile. Sure, Maddox was hot, the kind of guy Blake might just go after, but there was something between him and Cyrus, Blake was sure of it, even if the two weren't quite aware of it themselves. And so Maddox was not pursued, mostly because Blake had a feeling that Cyrus wouldn't hesitate to give him a black eye if he did. "Be my guest." He thanked the bartender and nodded to Maddox when their drinks arrived.

Blake took a sip of his drink. He stood up a little straighter when he felt arms wrapping around his waist. "Good evening, gentleman," came the delightfully familiar voice of Amaris Hamilton. Her chin rested on his shoulder. "Hello, handsome. I do believe I was promised a drink earlier."

Blake detached himself from Amaris's arms. "And what kind of gentleman would I be if I kept a lady waiting?" he asked, handing Amaris her Cosmopolitan. "Maddox paid, he insisted on it." Blake went to indicate to the Beta, but found he had disappeared. "Nevermind. I probably don't need to say it since nearly every guy in the room is practically drooling, but you look incredible."

Cyrus rose from his seat and whispered in his ear, "I've got some green, join me later." Blake nodded. "I'll catch you in a bit."

"So,"he turned his attention back to Amaris, "How was your summer?"

The party around them is loud and buzzing enough to distract anyone including himself, still, the brunette seems completely baffled as to why Maddox is talking to her. A rather genuine, endearing reaction, he notes. It takes a her minute, but she eventually finds the words to respond. "A little of column A, a little of column B? My, ah, friends are a little busy," she nods towards a couple on the dance floor near by. The male's face doesn't seem remotely familiar, but Mad almost immediately recognizes the girl. Daisy, if he recalls correctly and he usually does, the girl that works at the local starbucks. Maddox knows her face well; result of being unable to make it through the day without a cup of coffee. "Wouldn't wanna interrupt them or anything like that. Sorry," he turns his attention back to the brunette just in time to catch a trace of something that almost seems like jealousy, but not quite. It’s subtle, but it’s there. He nods slightly, already knowing where this is going to end. She’s not the type of girl Maddox tends to be attracted to, but she’s exactly the type of distraction he needs right now. Cyrus has had a firm hold of his mind for the past few hours, which means it’s time to forget the infuriatingly attractive Sigma and find someone else to focus his attention on.

"Eliza, hi," she waves as if she’s afraid of physical contact, pulling a chuckle out of the Beta. That name certainly rings a bell, and so does her face. Pushing the blondie to the very back of his mind, Maddox decides to turn on all of his charm. ”Ahh, Eliza, of course” he chimes with a soft nod. ”Daisy has mentioned you before” he adds, gesturing towards the girl on the dance floor, but quickly regains Eliza’s attention by taking her hand. ”Maddox” he says with a soft shake of her hand and a smirk for good measure. He’s not entirely sure if the girl knows or has heard his name before, but unless she’s heard bad rumors attached to it, that’s completely unimportant right now. Out of the corner of his eye he sees a familiar face give him the okay. His dear president’s usual antics.

”Well…” he says, turning his full attention back to her. ”Since your friends are busy, and I’d hate to leave you out here alone, how about a dance?”. He gives her just enough time to process the question, but not quite enough to respond. Still keeping a hold of her hand from before, he guides her towards the dance floor, purposely within view of the friends she gestured towards earlier just as they are leaving the dance floor. ”So your friends are dating, I assume?” he says as they fall into step to the slow rhythm of the song. ”That’s the only reason I can come up with as to why he would be dancing with Daisy when he could be dancing with you” he adds, slight gesture towards the man now walking past them. Much to Mad’s surprise, focusing his attention on Eliza is distracting him enough to forget about one he shouldn’t be thinking about, if only slightly. It's becomes habitual to use girls as alternatives, but unlike most nights, his intentions with Eliza is not to take her to bed. Not that he wouldn't like to, but he's already been booked for the night.

Danny walked by Eliza talking to some guy he didn't know. He got a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, but he shook it off as the alcohol doing it's work. Eliza was the last thing he wanted to think about tonight, simply because he knew it would make him rethink his intentions to end the night with Daisy. He walked to the bar and was ordering up another drink when he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. It was the group text with him, Nick, Hayden, and Ben. Noting Nick's location, he proceeded to the poolside.

He arrived to find Nick standing by himself looking down at his phone. Danny hollered a quick "Nick! What's up?" to gain his attention before leaning in to dap him up. "You look lonely out here... Waiting for someone?" Danny asked as he looked around for any sign of Amaris, Hayden, or Ben.

”Ahh, Eliza, of course, Daisy has mentioned you before.” Eliza raised an eyebrow in surprise at the idea of Daisy casually mentioning her to anyone. They were friends sure, but Eliza wasn't quite sure what Daisy and this guy had been discussing that resulted in her name being dropped into the conversation. Her attention was brought back to the moment as she felt someone take her hand. ”Maddox.” Maddox introduced himself and shook her hand. Eliza returned the smile that she saw on his face.

”Well…Since your friends are busy, and I’d hate to leave you out here alone, how about a dance?”

Before Eliza had a chance to think about an answer to the question, Maddox was already leading to the dancefloor. She would have said yes anyway, if only to give her a bit more time to place his name and his face properly. He seemed familiar, but she couldn't quite figure out where from. She found herself swaying with the music, keeping in step with Maddox as they danced to the slower track. ”So your friends are dating, I assume? That’s the only reason I can come up with as to why he would be dancing with Daisy when he could be dancing with you.”

Eliza dropped his gaze for a moment, her cheeks warming at the thinly veiled compliment. Where they dating? Surely one of them would have mentioned it to her, especially since she lived with Daisy."I honestly don't know," she said after a moments pause as she brought her eyes back up to his. She caught sight of Danny in the corner of her eye as he went passed. No, she wasn't going to go down that path. If Danny wanted to talk to her, he could do that. She wasn't going to chase him, not while he had whatever thing he had going with Daisy. Eliza had more about her than that. "I think it's more a casual thing. You'd be better off asking one of them."

"Oh, you know, the future best defense attorney in the continental US' work is never done, after all. Internship with US Embassy in Spain here, cruise with your sorority there...visiting schools in the US with their own museums and various workshops with feminists and activists. "I mean, all I'm sure you've had experience with, you know, to make your resume up to par and everything. Law school's real competitive, after all," Amaris laughed. As she spoke, Blake raised his eyebrow and nodded, quietly impressed if it was all true. "But in all honesty, it was fine. How about yours?"

Blake opened his mouth to answer, intending on telling her about his own summer spend schmoozing and working, when they were interrupted by his president. "Don't worry, Blake. I'm here to rescue you from having to listen to Amaris go on and on about museums and feminists and workshops and whatever other kinds of boring shit she's putting you to sleep, talking about."

Blake rolled his eyes, shaking his head slightly as Jack spoke. Jack's sense of humour was something that had taken Blake a while to get used to. After a few months, Blake had learned to brush off his obnoxiousness and laugh at it. Whether Amaris took it that way was another matter. "Instead of bragging about herself, what she should be talking about, is how it's so obvious that she wore that dress just to impress me. And hey, Amaris, I'll give credit where credit is due and admit that you achieved your goal there, but come on, you know that Blake is the only Sigma you'd be able to handle."

Blake placed his drink down on the bar top as Jack clasped his shoulder. Most likely, Jack was already drunk, in which case this was going to be a fantastic night. "I don't know how Mr. Future Lawyer made it into the Sigma house. He's gotta be good in bed, or else he would've ended up in the Kappa house, but you weigh in on that, Mare. Give us the inside scoop."

Blake sighed. His relationship with Amaris wasn't exactly a secret, but Blake prided himself on having a level of discretion when it came to the men and women in his bed. A level of discretion that Jack lacked. Sure, Amaris was a great lay, but Jack didn't need to know that, not unless Amaris wanted him too. He leaned against the bar and ran a finger along the lapel of Jack's suit. "Jack, sugar, if you want to know how good I am in bed, all you had to do was buy me a drink and ask for a demonstration. But, I'll let you in on a secret," he leaned in close and whispered in Jack's ear, "you probably couldn't handle me or Amaris even on your best day." Blake pulled back and raised his eyebrows, silently daring Jack to make a come back as he took a sip of his Manhattan. Blake cast his eye out on the dance floor and spotted Maddox dancing with a dark haired girl Blake vaguely recognised from the handful of times he'd been caught leaving Amaris's room. "Is that your little with Maddox? he asked, tilting his head in the couple's direction.

Amaris pursed her lips the second she heard Jack's voice, not out of displeasure though. They were friends, good friends even, when he wasn't being an annoying little shit, which was pretty much 99.99% of the time. She rolled her eyes the second he went on about coming to rescue Blake and her wearing the dress for him, which only made her turn to him an unimpressed raised eyebrow along with a subtle quirk of her lips while she played with the lime that sat on the rim of her martini glass. Leave it to him to both show up late and make time out of his not-so-busy schedule to still find a way to antagonize her, which honestly wasn't as unwelcome as she occasionally liked to pretend it was. Besides, she liked laughing in his face whenever Jack told himself that Amaris couldn't handle him - considering nothing he had done in the last four years had been enough to convince her to climb into his bed.

And even if she wanted to, she almost could barely suppress the urge to flush red or lie upon him bringing up the fact that she and Blake were sleeping together. Again, not much of a secret, but she wasn't about to yell it from the rooftops. More importantly, which was why a bit of her irritation welled up in her chest, this wasn't the place to bring it up at. Not only were they in a public place where any one of their classmates, a few of whom were actually colleagues of hers or at least people she had worked with in the last four years, but there were alumni here - important alumni. People who could possibly further Amaris' burgeoning career and the fact that he had the audacity to blurt that out had Amaris looking around them on a breathy laugh, appearing as if she was brushing hair from either side of her face when in reality, she was making sure no one had seriously heard Jack. Luckily, Blake beat her to having to say much of anything so Amaris only narrowed her eyes at Jack while adding, "You're a real piece of work, Decker. Just classy." Which wasn't exactly one of her best at the moments, but it also included a hint of her accent which made Amaris just a touch madder than she actually was. Because that was never something she wanted.

Ever.

It seemed that luck was on her side because Cyrus had returned, a surprise considering how close the two of them, in no way, were. Yet the addition of one more person to their little group was just the safety net Amaris needed to maintain the calm, though slightly miffed, demeanor she had held and she smiled tightly at the newcomer. "You know I was just thinking in my head how we needed one. I feel like I was left in the lumberjack section of Home Depot with all this scruff I'm surrounded by." At the last second she caught where Blake's eyes had gone and narrowed her own in the direction of Eliza with Maddox, having to stamp down on the immediate surge of protectiveness. Maddox was the last person she needed her Little to even be conversing with, let alone getting up to half of the shit Maddox was known for. "Eliza's a smart girl, one of the smartest, actually. She can handle herself." It was spoken mainly to comfort herself, but Amaris turned a playful yet frosty Jack's way. "Though, since we're all so concerned with what I can and can't handle, let me just say that what I spend my spare time handling, for lack of a better word, is more than likely a lot better than anything you could give me." She made a point of running her gaze up and down Jack's frame, a blatantly appraising stare, before flicking her eyes back upwards to meet his with a smirk as she finished, "Bigger probably, too."

Yuda didn't really know what happened, everything went by in a whirl. Before she knew it, she was dragged to some unfamiliar place by an obviously lying Abby-Yuda knew something was up-who was obviously just trying to avoid the subject Yuda had brought up. Yuna would find an answer soon though, she hated not knowing anything and Abigail was her best friend so she'd be sure to tell her sooner or later by force or willingly. Yuda protested as Abigail dragged her to who knows where, she didn't have time to order olives or anything! Unfortunately, Abigail was just as stubborn as Daisy and wouldn't respond and continued. Yuda hoped they'd reach their destination soon because her feet were starting to hurt in her heels. For some reason, Abigail stopped in tracks. Yuda was going to ask what was wrong, Abigail had already mustered up the courage to walk over to a small group of people. Yuda was not excited for this. Luckily, there were some familiar faces to be seen. Archie and Naomi were there. Naomi shot her a weird flirty smile which was met with a Yuda original glare.

Yuda was introduced to the unfamiliar faces that were there. There was some pretty girl named Ayala there, everyone seemed to call her YaYa instead though. The guy's name was Ben. Yuda didn't really care about all these formalities. The atmosphere felt kind of uneasy here anyway, an awkwardness hung in the air and Yuda didn't know why. Ben said something about something working out, Yuda honestly did not care. Her stomach was beginning to distract her since she hadn't even eaten yet. Yuda didn't really want to interrupt whatever was going on here, but she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with this whole situation. It was a little too ominous, something much more serious was lurking about and this was one of these cases where Yuda wouldn't like to know whatever was going on. Maybe whatever Yuda was sensing in the atmosphere was what was bothering Abby? She seemed to have tensed up when the Ben guy had approached to her. Yuda made a mental note to ask her later, she could probably be the therapeutic remedy Abigail needed to calm her nevres. So, is anyone else starving? This was her first verbal input with this group of people so hopefully that her stomach didn't bother them too much. "You all look a bit peckish or maybe my stomach is making me see things." Yuda gave an awkward smile and whipped out her phone while everyone gave a response.

Eliza, Daisy
Was dragged into an awkward situation with some strangers, please tell me you guys are by a bar or something I am literally going to die of hunger in 8 seconds

"I honestly don't know," Eliza answered after a short moment to herself and there was that thing again. Something in between uncertainty and disappointment. It was clear to Maddox that whatever was, or wasn’t, going on between Daisy and the unnamed man was bothering her, regardless of how much she tried to hide it. Though not exactly obvious, at least not to the point where the subjects of the conversation would notice, it was obvious enough for the Beta to pick up on. She added a comment on how she should ask them personally if he truly wanted to know, which he didn’t, not in the slightest. After glancing in the man’s direction for merely a second, his gaze returned to hers as he made a subtle gesture towards him. ”You can do much better” he stated firmly, making sure she knew her discomfort hadn’t gotten past him. Few things ever did.

Eliza looked up at his comment about her being able to do better. She smiled and quirked a brow at Maddox. "That implies that there was something between me and Danny to begin with. He's a good guy," she finished weakly. Eliza wasn't quite sure why she was trying to defend Danny to Maddox. She had barely heard from him over the summer. That was mostly a two-way fault given that her dad wasn't exactly great whenever Eliza mentioned a boy, but still, Danny's attempts at communication had been few and far between. And now he had apparently moved on to Daisy without so much as a word. "But thanks anyway."

Her comment pulls an almost amused smile out of him. "A good guy, huh?" he repeats, not exactly expecting an answer from her. Many guys on campus could be reffered to as "good guys". Including himself, according to most. Of course, comments like that weren't always accurate. Maddox never considered himself a good guy, in any sense of the word, but if you asked most of the people that didn't know him that personally, they would tell you otherwise."Well, since you seem to like good guys, maybe I shouldn't have pulled you out to dance" he notes, his features contorted into somewhat of a worried expression. "Your house president would most definitely not approve". Amaris Hamilton had made it very clear that she was unimpressed by Maddox. The Beta could probably pinpoint as to why that is, and though it may or may not have been a bad move on his part, it still felt kind of unfair for her to hold something that happened so long ago over his head like she appeared to be doing. "She seems to be convinced that all Betas are bad news" he adds.

"I'm sure Amaris has her reasons, but I'm not her." Eliza had always been a big believer on judging people on their own merits. Good people fell in with bad crowds all the time. Sure, she didn't like Andre from what she'd heard of him, but she was pretty certain that not every Beta was a carbon copy of Andre. "Some people are good, some are bad, houses have nothing to do with it as far as I'm concerned." The song faded away as a new one started. "Why did you ask me to dance? I mean, if you knew it would annoy Amaris, why ask?" Eliza asked while the music was quieter and she didn't have to shout.

Maddox nodded as if to agree with her statements, almost caught off guard by her question. He had a feeling she would question his motives for asking her to dance, something he didn't entirely have an answer for. Well, he did, but it wasn't the kind of answer she'd like to hear. "Why not?" he replied with a devilish grin. "Do I really need a reason to ask a pretty girl out to dance?" he added, continuing his habit of answering a question with more questions. He could feel his phone continiuosly vibrating in his jacket pocket, but decided to ignore it for now. It would be rude to answer texts while talking to someone. "It sounds like you could teach your president a thing or two about judging others". Though that sounded a bit harsh, it was nothing but the truth. Maddox was many things but judgmental was not one of them.

Eliza tilted her head. A small smile tugged on her lips. "There's never a straight answer with you is there?" It was annoying that Maddox wasn't giving her any clear cut answers, but he had piqued her curiosity. She wanted to know more about him, and she had the feeling that it wasn't going to be easy. He was guarded and Eliza wanted to know the reason why. Eliza felt her phone buzz and resisted the urge to check it "Like I said, I'm sure Amaris has her reasons, but I'm not about to walk around telling her how to treat people. She regarded Maddox for a moment. "It was nice meeting you Maddox, but I have other friends I need to catch up with. I'll see you around I guess." She afforded him one last smile before she disappeared into the crowd. She didn't need to hear his answer, the likelihood was that they would see each other again at the back to back events that were happening. God knew she needed the distraction from Danny.

Maddox waved her off with a soft smile, watching her disappear into the sea of faces. Never a straight answer he repeated in his mind, deciding that was a very accurate way of describing him. he never gave straight answers because doing so could lead his guard being let down, something he didn't plan on doing with anyone or anything. Distorted, vague answers was his way of making sure that never happened. After he was sure Eliza was gone, he checked the buzzing device in his pocket, chucjling slightly at Archie'a response . he read over Abby'a message as well but opted out of texting them back when he realized they were both by the door in a rather large group of people. Sensing there may be drama currently in play, he prepared himself mentally before approaching the group. "Right here" he said, answering Abby'a text as to where he was, extending his hello to the rest of the group afterwards. Some he knew well and some he didn't. A particular face caught his attention and he smiled at her deviously, knowing that that's all it would take to annoy her. "Omi" he said, bowing slightly. [color=#0000cc]"And here I thought I'd have to get through the night without getting to see my favorite tsundere"[color]

Once she saw a reaction from Charlotte, Michaela knew she still had a firm foot in this situation, and that she wasn't exactly as in over her head as she thought. There was a telltale flush on Charlotte's cheek that appeared as the girl's eyes widened and Michaela didn't even pretend to hide the self-satisfied grin that crossed her features. The lust that danced in the other girl's eyes was enough to placate the part of her that typically felt like Mickey was taking things too far. It absolved her of any guilt; Charlotte had started this, if they were being honest. For once, it wasn't just on Michaela to have been the one to push limits, act on her own dramatics. It had been equal parts on both of them and she felt more smug than she probably should as the girl who was pretty sure she was about to be hooking up with one of her best friends. She noted when Charlotte made somewhat of a face before trying to make a retort, but it only served to make Michaela chuckled as she replied, "Harm? Well, babe, maybe you should ask your wrists that in the morning once I'm done with you."

Michaela had no shame in admitting that she had gotten herself involved in some...less than vanilla sexual escapades. In fact, she bragged about them and had no issues with some of the things she did. Granted, as she had been pretty open about before, she hadn't truly delved as deep as she could have - not out of fear, but simply because it hadn't truly interested her as much. But she had always flirted with the idea of something more, and sue her - she had thought of it more than once or twice occurring with Charlotte. And right about now? Being questioned? Almost...doubted? Yeah, that did something to the ego she liked to dramatize having, not to mention offering a spike to her libido at being challenged. So, she waited until Charlotte had taken that last sip, having been smirking the entire time to herself and ignoring the vibration of her phone that alerted her to another text, waited until Charlotte's attention was fully back on her before speaking. Since, as far as everyone was concerned, if there was one person who could do a lot of talking, it was Mickey. And as she had been told more than twice, she could say some absolutely devastating things. Things she was pretty sure both her Big and her mom would be trying to rinse out of her mouth using holy water. "See the thing is, baby girl, you ask what harm handling me can do..." Michaela slowly let her gaze wander to Charlotte's lips once more, voice dropping an octave, "when I'm the one already aware of all the ways I can have your pretty little ass writhing on my bed. And see, the thing of it is that the only one doing any type of handling tonight is me to you. You just need to decide how much harm you're willing to take cuz trust me," her eyes, the black of her pupils practically swallowing the hazel color with barely restrained want now that she didn't really have to hold back, "you won't have anything to complain about once I really get my hands on you."

Giggling coquettishly and backing off only slightly, Mickey eased the drink from Charlotte's fingers, not even bothering to waste her time in reaching back for the other one since neither of them were staying long enough to finish them, Mickey took the same straw Charlotte was using into her mouth, all the while maintaing eye contact. She wasted no time in sucking up a strong pull of the cold alcoholic beverage, moaning lowly first at the subtle taste of Charlotte's mouth having been there but also at the slight burn of the alcohol. She didn't order Zombies often simply because of how strong the drink really was and how much she wasn't trying to get smashed on the first cup since only two of these were rumored to have knocked people flat on their asses. After two strong drinks, she set the glass back on the bar and grinned. "And come on, ma chΓ©rie," she teased lightly, one of the few times Mickey reminded people of her French-Creole background and her minor grasp of the French language, "you and I both now that if you really wanted me to, I'd rip all of this off right now to have my way with you." Feeling a bit like she had made her point, Mickey grasped Charlotte's hand again, making sure her phone was out in her other hand as she tugged on the other girl, "Think we're ready to blow this popsicle stand, don't ya think?" Already turning to leave, Mickey rolled her eyes at Jazmyn's immediate response, and decided to text her and a few others of her departure.
