The Buckley School is one of the oldest co-ed day schools in Los Angeles — and one of the few with all students, grades K–12, on one campus. Our beautiful 18-acre location is home to 830 students. Escaping the clamor of city life for a serene natural space to learn may seem unrealistic in the middle of Los Angeles, but that's exactly what Buckley's campus provides. Students can push a stool away from a state-of-the-art microscope and eat lunch at a table overlooking the canyon.

Students are safe — physically and emotionally — to simply focus on being students. Visitors to our San Fernando Valley campus are struck by the close-knit nature of the Buckley community, characterized by the warmth and enthusiasm of students, faculty, and parents. Among other things, our facilities include 67 classrooms; two libraries; 725 computers and campus-wide WiFi; 35 interactive whiteboards; 20 interactive projectors; 150 iPads; an indoor gymnasium and theatre; a 4-acre outdoor field and stadium; an indoor pool; a weight-training facility; an outdoor basketball practice court; two Lower School play yards; a nature trail; and a garden and outdoor classroom/patio in Lower School.

Buckley draws students from more than 70 zip codes across Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Culver City, Encino, Hancock Park, Hollywood Los Feliz, Pacific Palisades, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Westchester, and Westwood.

Student Life

There is something to engage each student’s interest here at Buckley. We offer a wide range of activities that help students expand their horizons. From athletics and clubs to the arts and community service, Buckley students are in action beyond the classroom and beyond the campus.

THE ARTS
Buckley students delve deeply into their chosen craft through an extensive arts program. Middle and Upper School students select arts classes based on their growing interests. Visual arts classes include photography, ceramics, jewelry-making, painting, sculpture, and drawing. Performing arts classes include dance, theatre classes, band, and orchestra.

ATHLETICS
Physical development is a key component of Isabelle Buckley's 4-Fold Plan of Education. At Buckley, athletics encompasses traditional team sports as well as various types of games and movement activities. From the Lower School physical education program, in which students learn hand–eye coordination and cooperation, to Middle School dance classes and the Upper School strength and conditioning program, students across divisions learn the importance and experience the benefits of physical development.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Buckley School is committed to service, which enriches all the members of our community. Community service experiences help students expand students' perspectives while benefiting causes, agencies, and individuals in need. Community service can include individual or group projects. Our community service program is broad in scope and integrated with other aspects of our curriculum, including classroom lessons, special events, and the school's clubs and special programs.

MULTICULTURALISM AND INCLUSION
By emphasizing multiculturalism and inclusion across our campus, we commit to creating a community where everyone, regardless of their ability, age, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or socio-economic status, feels welcome and all students can thrive. Our program helps students develop skills for living in a highly connected, diverse society where a multiplicity of perspectives and experiences are recognized and valued.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Student activities complement the work students do in the classroom and foster strong relationships among classmates. Niche organizations such as the Martial Arts Movie Club and the Kite Club round out more time-honored institutions such as Student Council and National Honor Society. With more than 40 clubs, groups, and after-school activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS
Our thriving Afterschool Programs include sports clinics, enrichment classes, and private music lessons. Sessions are a semester long. Recent offerings include chess club, cooking, dance, hockey, a mock trial club, musical theatre, sewing, science, and yoga. Buckley’s Performing Arts Conservatory also arranges private lessons after school on campus, in several instruments including electric bass, guitar, piano, strings, and voice. A recital at the end of the year showcases student talent.

SUMMER PROGRAMS
Buckley offers a variety of activities as part of our Summer School and Summer Camp. Children can take part in fun academic pursuits and team-building athletic opportunities or explore a number of special topics during week-long sessions. Summer programs are open to both Buckley students and students from other schools.

The Bell Schedule & Posting

Image

To keep time flowing and the days moving over the course of the role-play there is going to be a post counter that will keep the time and the periods moving throughout the role-play. How the counter works is that during the weekends and during non-school hours an hour will pass with every 15 posts. So, let's say that in the starter post that I make that kick start the role-play I have my characters do x,y and z and by the end of my post, it's 7:30 a.m.That means that up until whoever makes the 16th post whatever happens to your character will be taking place before 8:00 a.m. So, you can have your character wake up at five o'clock in the morning and whatever happens over the course of your post is happening before 8 a.m. By the 16th post time moves forward and another hour is playable. So, everything that happens with our characters will take place between 8 - 9 o'clock. This aids in making sure that people don't unrealistically move time forward to suit their own needs or out of impatience as every second counts.

Now on school days, once that first bell rings, the post counter restarts and with every twentieth post, a period passes. So, the second someone posts about the first bell ringing the timer restarts and between the first and twelfth post we will be role-playing the first period. On the twenty-first post, second period has started and time moves forward and that we will keep going like that until then end up the final period and which the counter once again restarts and we go back to the 15 post counter. This will keep things from coming to a standstill, and no one is confused about when we should switch to the next class or start a new day. This roleplay is a slice of life roleplay that follows the lives of the middle and high schoolers that attend Buckley. I plan on roleplaying out the daily lives of our students which means that while the roleplay does focus on the Buckley school, a lot of the roleplay will take place outside of the classroom and off of school grounds. Particularly since, when we do begin posting, our story will begin in December during the last week of school before Winter break.

In the beginning, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some confusion so if anyone is in any way puzzled about the post counter let me know and I will attempt to clarify and make things easier to understand. Be mindful that if you are EVER confused, say something in the OOC. We both can be a touch sarcastic at times, yes, but also understanding. Your question could be anyone's question and as stated before, we're expecting the confusion on how things are run. Just ask - I promise you that you will get answered and you'll also be helping someone else who might be in the same confusion boat as yourself.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition for 2016 - 2017
Lower School (Grades K–5) | Tuition: $33,430 || Middle and Upper Schools (Grades 6–12) | Tuition: $39,320

Tuition covers the annual costs of instruction during the regular academic day, as well as the cost of textbooks, workbooks, certain school supplies, physical education uniforms, school publications, and support of extensive classes in the visual and performing arts. Tuition is higher in the Middle and Upper Schools to cover extra items such as laboratory and art supplies, uniforms for interscholastic athletics, etc.

Students who enroll at Buckley for the first time will be charged an additional nonrefundable $2,000 fee. This new student fee should be paid along with the commitment deposit at the time of enrollment. For new seniors only, the new student fee will be $4,000 to cover the costs of college counseling, transcript preparation, and graduation.

Financial Aid

The Buckley School offers financial aid to families with demonstrated needs based on an evaluation by School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS. The school’s Financial Aid Committee makes financial aid awards to students who qualify for aid on the basis of financial need and who, in the school’s judgment, are able to make a significant contribution to the Buckley community through their academic accomplishments, talents, and personal attributes. Our review process involves applying consistent principles across all applicants to determine the families most in need of a financial aid grant.

SSS is an independent needs assessment program used by thousands of independent schools nationwide. Families interested in applying for financial aid may begin the process on November 1 each year by completing the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online. Schools that subscribe to SSS can use the information collected on this form about your family size, income, expenses, etc., to help determine your family’s ability to contribute to educational expenses.

The Rules

1. Reservations. Don't start a sheet unless you have every intention of finishing it. Reservations will be accepted and last for one week. There's no need to tell you or assure you that you'll be getting an extension because a week is a rather long time to get a sheet in (and most people get it done in at least 72 hrs), so if you cannot adhere to that, then you do not need to be involved with this RP. Upon submitting your reservation, you need to provide the following:
~Face Claim
~Grade
~Clique
~AP Student or not?

2. Character Limits. You can have a maximum of 14 characters (although I can't see anyone making that many). Try not to make more characters than you can handle. If at any time it becomes overwhelming or you just lose interest in certain characters we can find a way to write them out of the role-play.

3. Ratios and Diversity. As important as things like activeness and inclusiveness are in a role-play, ratios are also critical (or, at least, I feel so). In the high school role-plays that I've been apart of and created I've noticed that every character that is created is either a junior or a senior, and they are often popular. This lack of diversity I feel makes the role-play boring and is what often contributes to role-plays dying.

No one makes underclassmen because their characters won't have anyone to interact with which is boring because their character has nothing to do which ultimately leads to disinterest and the person leaving the role-play. And again, this is an RP about a school with K-12 and I can assure you, the K+ was not added for shits and giggles. Having all wealthy and famous characters is also boring as it's no longer impressive or unique. Naturally, this role-play takes place in California and plenty of students will probably have dreams of becoming famous singers and starlets. But, not everyone has to be a multi-selling artist or from a family with millions upon millions of dollars. Diversity is a good thing.

I will stress this again once I get to the reservation tab, but if you're gonna reserve, you need to be considerate of all of these things: the fact that we need just as many guys as there are girls (which means no reserving more than one girl without a male reserved somewhere), we need more than just seniors and juniors, and I'm mandating that people create characters from the other grades, and that middle school students are on the line as well (if you are reserving more than two characters [and also, DO NOT try to change your mind about the number of characters you reserve simply because you're being asked to consider playing middle schoolers], then I am asking that third and/or fourth character be in grades 6-9). If you need help with finding baby faces, here is a face claim directory and considering people use gifs, I'm sure you know how to search Tumblr for more.

4. Activeness. This should go without saying, but in inactive role-play is a dead role-play. I'm not asking people to dedicate every hour of every day to this role-play or to make this role-play their sole focus because that would be stupid and crazy unrealistic. As much of I love role-play I also love the real world and the real world often takes me away from my computer- which isn't a bad thing. All I ask is that if you're going to join this role-play then be a part of it and be active. Get your characters involved with other role-players' characters and be considerate enough not to keep people waiting for your response for days at a time. You don't have to be on and post every day, but if you're only posting once or twice every week, then it's best that you not join.

5. Inclusiveness. I feel like I've touched on this already and it really shouldn't need to be a rule because roleplaying is all about togetherness and stuff, but I'll say it anyway - don't exclude people. This is a school-based role-play which means that the characters are going to be rather cliquey. However, just because your characters aren't in the same clique or group, it doesn't mean that they'll have to have zero contact with each other. It's school. Teachers don't give a damn about cliques. Partner your characters up through projects or after-school clubs and teams or taking it outside of school and get creativity. The best thing about high school is that drama is never far away. Don't be afraid to start drama!

6. Relationships. Before you sign up for this role-play, you should know that there will be a relations tab and before anyone is allowed to post in the IC, your connections and links to other characters need to be documented. I'll make the relations tab after the majority of the characters have been accepted. You'll only be responsible for working out relations between your accepted characters and the other already accepted characters. As other characters get accepted, you will be expected to reach out to new role-players and work out relations between their characters and yours and, of course, update your sheet.

7. Face Claims. Being that this is a realistic role-play face claims are, of course, a given. In some role-plays the gm asks that people try to use face claims that aren't used often, but I don't really care. It's your character use whoever face that you wish. However, you all know which face claims do not fit the middle school/high school genre, which means that no Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Hemsworth will not pass as high school seniors. I will tell you to try again if the face claim chosen is too old.

8. Character Sheet. I have created a character sheet template because I feel like it's easier for everyone that way. All the information asked for must be given but you can add, format it and dress it up however you like. I am all for quality over quantity, but that doesn't mean I am for one sentence answers. This is a semi-literate role-play, and while I don't need novels, I do expect at least a couple of paragraphs (paragraphs include 5-7 sentences each). This goes for both sheets and the role-play in general.

9. Maturity. This role-play about middle and high schoolers going through life and along the way, things like violence, drug abuse, self-harm, sexuality, profanity or other adult themes can find it's way into the narrative. Be mindful of what you right and remember that this is a friendly role-play not some tasteless 50 Shades of Grey fan-fiction. Keep it tasteful and overall respectful.

10. Have Fun. After all the rules I feel like I also need to state that this is meant to be fun, and I want people to have fun. Keep the drama between the characters, not each other. Don't be afraid to communication with me and the other role-players. Share your ideas and if you get stumped and get hit with writer's block - LET US KNOW! We're all here to have fun and create a story full of interesting characters and drama. I look forward to taking this journey with you all! =D

Malcolm pointed towards his close friend. He had a point. Poppy did have a parade of guys who wanted to be with her. She just didn’t have the one she wanted to sleep with in that parade seeing that he was in a relationship with Malcolm’s little sister and while Derek was like a brother to him. He would kill the guy if he even thought about hurting Rhaps, not that he would. Which was probably why he was acting so quiet around Poppy. Sure, he was never told directly that Derek slept with the girl before he and Rhapsody became… close, for lack of a better word but, he could assume. The guy was good at picking up hints from people especially from his sister who was terrible at keeping secrets from him. Her face read like an open book and so did Derek’s, but he didn’t need to know about his friend’s ‘sexcapades’. “He’s got a point, you know? You could get a poor sucker in days if you wanted to.” The redhead rolled her eyes and scoffed. “Relationships are boring. You spend all your time with the same person, sleep with the same person, and I mean, Derek, that’s cool for you. I guess but, that’s just boring to me! We’re young, we’re sexy, it’s our time to explore our horizons. Besides why get a guy when I’m heading down South in less than a year?” Malcolm raised his eyebrows, taking a sip of his beer. She kind of had a point, kind of. Not that he would tell her that, her head was big enough. “What? Lookin’ for your Southern sugar daddy?”

“Please, I am the last person on Earth who needs a sugar daddy. I’m worth more than any guy could afford. But, am I wrong? No, I’m not. Dating in high school’s boring and they all end up doing the same thing; crashing and burning.” Jesus, this girl was cynical. “You are actually very wrong. They do not all crash and burn. I mean, just look at this ‘love guru’ over here. He seems to be doing just fine.” Poppy didn’t say a word about that as Derek starting talking again, inviting the jock to the other room. He nodded his head. “Sounds good. Thanks for the great advice, Pops.” She tossed him a sarcastic smile to match the sarcasm in his voice. “You’re very welcome.” As the guys walked away, Poppy winked and just to make things, not awkward Malcolm acted like it was towards him. After a while of them playing, Malcolm felt his phone vibrate. Taking it out of his pocket, he furrowed his brows. Standing up without a second thought. He turned towards Derek. “Hey man, there’s something I have to take care of. Let me know when you and Rhaps get home.” He walked out of the room, looking for where Leah was and what the hell was wrong. What did she mean she couldn’t stay warm? Not to mention to grammar was a mess and she never outwardly admitted when she needed help. That just wasn’t how she was. Which was the main reason he was so concerned. He grabbed the arm of a Royal softly asking if she had seen Leah. She said the last place she saw her was heading towards the backyard. All he did was thank her before making his way through the crowd towards the back.

He looked around for a minute before spotting a girl huddled up in a chair, knocked out. As he got closer, he noticed who it was. He bent down next to her and softly shook her, trying to wake her. Nothing. At least she was still breathing. He took a deep breath, taking off his flannel to cover her up. He didn’t care that he only had a black tank top on under his shirt, he’d survive. Besides Leah was freezing. “Leah, wake up.” She groaned but still didn’t open her eyes.“Alright, I’m gonna get you home, okay? Everything’s going to be okay.” He didn’t care who was around. He didn’t care what people thought of him taking care of her. All he cared about was taking care of her and finding out what the hell happened in that hour or so they had separated before he took her to the hospital, or home, God he didn’t know. He was trying to stay calm but, he was freaking out on the inside. He’s never had to deal with this before. He pulled out his phone, ordering an Uber before turning his attention back to the queen bee. “Leah, baby, I ordered a car but I need you to wake up to know what’s wrong and if you’re okay.” He continued to softly shake her to see if she would come to before he did anything else.

Shut up.

It was the first thought when awareness crept back into the corners of Aaliyah's eyes. There was an incessant buzzing in her ears and whoever the hell decided that letting a bee into the house was a grand idea was honestly an idiot. They were stupid and Leah was pretty sure that she swatted it away and told it to stop, but what had actually happened was her right hand twitching, raising weakly but then falling right back down, and she also groaned. Of course, she wasn't actually aware at that exact moment that the buzzing was not at all a bee, but Malcolm speaking. Everything was fuzzy and her eyelids felt heavy, weighed down by some invisible force. Just like the rest of her body. She was pretty sure she was dreaming, too, but that could've been because her mind was no longer at the party. She wasn't even aware that she was still at Ace's party in the first place. Where was she? In all actuality, Aaliyah couldn't tell you even if she wanted to. All she knew was that, Oh, that feels nice, there was this random blanket of warmth that she needed to curl into, which she slowly did.

Eventually, though, she had to muster the energy to open her eyes - and that was some serious work, mind you - and blearily peeked at Malcolm's face, not really seeing him but the fuzziness in her head abated enough to let her actually hear him. And oh, what was he doing here? Wherever here was didn't seem like it would have him. He was warm, so warm, and here was cold. He didn't deserve that. That didn't stop her from missing him, though. And wasn't that a revelation? Leah was so lost in this space - that seemed like an accurate word to use since it clearly was not the party, in her head - that it hadn't occurred to her that she had missed Malcolm until he was randomly here and warm and safe and good. Or even conjure up the thought that she shouldn't miss him at all. But she couldn't focus on that. Aaliyah swore she smiled up at him, but it was more of a grimace and a tentative, weak, one at that. "Mmmmmmalc..." She tried going for his full first name, but she was trying to hold her head up as well to fully acknowledge him and her body rejected that. That was a lot of work and the head space from earlier - the unconsciousness - sounded like such a better idea. A chill went through her and she desperately needed to focus more on huddling under the warmth. "I'mmmm...missssssd you..." Her voice came out soft, barely discernible, and Aaliyah couldn't even fathom that he didn't understand her. Then again, she drifted back into weightlessness soon after, eyes drifting closed because obviously if Malcolm was here, everything was okay. She didn't need to be awake, right?

Finn was pretty drunk, so he was already feeling good and light because of that, but even if he was sober, he would have been on cloud nine if a senior Royal, nonetheless one as incredibly beautiful as Juliette Arnault, was insisting he kiss her like she was right now. He wasn't incredibly unattractive or so awkward that he never got girls. He had had a girlfriend at one point, and because of that, he wasn't a virgin, but still... as a junior, getting a senior to want you was a big deal, especially when she was one of the most popular Royals in school. Part of him hoped that Alan would tell the other guys about how Juliette was texting him about wanting Finn so badly as soon as possible, just so that word got around and he gained a bit more respect in the Jocks clique.

Finn could tell that Juliette was drunk, there was no denying that, but he was drunk too and because of that, his normal inhibitions weren't present, allowing him to believe that she wasn't too drunk. It all worked out perfectly in a tragic sort of way that she mistook him for Ace all while Finn had been ensured that Juliette wanted his company by his friends, and that they were both more intoxicated than they needed to be. He was ready to take her up on her offer when he noticed a small amount of blood trickling out of a cut on her hand. It wasn't too serious looking, but it looked fresh, and out of instinct, he felt the need to tell her. "Oh, your--" he stopped speaking before finishing his sentence where he would have told her that her hand was bleeding from the fall that he didn't know had occurred a minute before. He figured that she knew and just didn't care, or at least that was what he told himself. Not even a little bit of blood was going to get in his way right now. He would be damned if he distracted a girl as beautiful as this, when she was literally telling him to get on the floor with her and start kissing her.

In Finn's defense, while recognizing that Juliette was intoxicated, there was not a single signal that went off in his mind to tell him that this was wrong. He was too drunk to notice the signs of her being drugged or even wasted, and his friend's story was matching up perfectly with how she was behaving, so intoxicated himself, he had no reason to think otherwise. That was why he didn't even take a minute to say "nevermind" after ending his sentence halfway through, or even engage in conversation anymore before getting on the bathroom floor himself. What started out as just making out quickly led to him gently pushing her onto her back so he could continue to kiss her while laying on top of her - following Alan's informative remark about how she liked guys who took charge, and Juliette's own comments about he would have to do the work. It couldn't have been more than two or three minutes of them making out before Finn was peeling her clothes away from her body and then digging into his pockets for that condom Alan had given him, completely oblivious to the fact that it wasn't normal how she had grown more and more limp feeling. He still got moans out of her when his lips pressed against her neck or when he slid his hand down her then-bare thigh, so it didn't seem to abnormal in the moment, as his hard was pounding and sex was the only thing on his mind, that she wasn't talking or speaking fully.

Danielle's anxiety disorder meant that feeling like something was wrong was nothing new. This time, however, she felt like it wasn't just her brain freaking out over nothing. While she'd been talking with Charlotte, Aaliyah Shanks had sat down on one of the lawn chairs, having seemed perhaps a little drunk, but perfectly still in control of herself. In the alarmingly small amount of time since, the Queen Bee seemed to be passed out. Danielle hadn't noticed a drink in her hand at any point, hence the feeling that something was wrong. "Fuck it," she muttered to herself. Even if they weren't friends, she felt like she had to do something. She wasn't going to just be an idle bystander. Putting down her plate, she started her walk over to Aaliyah.

Then she saw Malcolm heading over to her, and alarms started blaring in her head. Even if she did know that Malcolm was far from the worst of the jocks, seeing him around a girl that was that drunk was a huge warning sign. Her walk became more of a march, her pace made faster and more aggressive by her anger and her concern.

"What the hell are you doing?" She asked accusingly as she reached them. Aaliyah was either passed out or pretty damn close. "Get away from her," she added, glaring at him for good measure. "Aaliyah? Can you hear me?" She called, putting a hand on her shoulder. Even if they weren't friends, Danielle would stick up for any girl at this party if they were in danger. Even if she hated them. She felt like her resolution in that was perhaps slightly reinforced by the alcohol in her system, but she also wasn't going to fight it.

"How much has she had to drink?" She asked, perhaps a tad harshly considering she didn't know for sure whether or not Malcolm was actually involved.

Had Camila been sober, she may have been able to pick up on Ari's attempt at luring her outside, but the more seconds that crept by the less in her right mind she felt. She may have denied it all she wanted, but for the first time in a long time, she'd had one too many shots and emotions rather than common sense were taking over rapidly. She gently tugged back on Ari's hand, though not enough to pull away or prevent the girl from pulling her along. "But I'm not hungry..." she grumbled, running a hand through her still perfectly curled locks.

Brown eyes fixed on Arizona's face, she stopped abruptly as if having some sort of epiphany. "Oh my god Ari..." her voice was lower than normal, but loud enough to be heard of the trafficking of drinks and scattered yells over the thumping of the music. There was a short beat of silence before Cami's red-tainted lips curled into a smile. The usual smile she put on the rare occasions she felt like being flirtatious. "You are gor-geous!" she added, breaking up the last word into its syllables. It's funny how alcohol makes one notice things they wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Not that Camila hadn't found Arizona pretty before, but the tequila made her look at things in a whole new light, Ari included. "Seriously, you're makin' me look bad" there was a subtle pout added to her comment before the brunette linked arms with her friend, tugging her in the direction she imagined was the bar.

"Come on, I need another drink." she urged, because in her mess of a brain she was nowhere near being drunk. Another martini or two would do the trick for sure. That's really all she would need to drown out any and all irrational and emotionally charged thoughts that her fast paced life had no time for.

Rhapsody loved when her friends or others in her group called her 'guardian angel' because as much as she denied it, that was exactly what she was. She was the angel on one's shoulder, saying that probably wasn't a good idea. And getting Cat drunk definitely didn't seem like the brightest of ideas. As much as she loved Cat, she was like a little kid; innocent, sweet, and Rhapsody didn't believe that Cat would drink anything alcoholic unless it was completely watered down with soda or something. Hell, even Rhapsody herself had a low tolerance for liquor, just imagine how the small redhead would be. The young artist took a deep breath as she shook her head. "I do not know. It does not seem like a good idea, love." But before she could deter Cydnee anymore, Cat bounced towards the pair with her usual bubbly energy. Rhapsody just smiled and chuckled. With Cydnee rolling her eyes, Rhaps just kept staring Cyndee to try and tell her no with her bright eyes. But, that didn't help anything as the pair walked away with Rhapsody shaking her head and mouthing the word 'no'. This was not going to end well. She sharply groaned with a rolling of her eyes.

Looking around, she tried to find her brother, or Derek, or someone to spend her time with. She hadn't seen Malcolm all night, half of her felt like he left around with his 'girlfriend' even if he denied ever having one, to Rhapsody she just liked poking fun at the idea, not having an idea that Malcolm was right outside helping with Aaliyah. And with Derek, she had no idea where he was. Knowing him he was having a beer with Malcolm and their friends playing video games. He hadn't texted her so she assumed he didn't know about what happened with Luke just yet. Looking through the crowd, Rhapsody locked eyes with Poppy who threw a fake smile towards the artist with a small wave as she made her way towards the smaller girl. "Rhapsody, hey! I gotta admit you look really... cute tonight," Rhapsody knew there was something else was coming. Poppy never just gave her a compliment. It was always a backhanded compliment at most. The two made it apparent that they were not the best of friends but Poppy did love to try and get under Rhapsody's skin whenever she was around her. "Also! Malc and Derek are just the best company. They're just so... amusing especially D." D?! Really? Poppy was calling Derek, D now? Rhapsody grinned towards the redhead despite wanting to roll her eyes towards Poppy and question why she was even talking to her brother and more importantly, her boyfriend. She knew she couldn't control who the boys spent time with, she knew she couldn't demand that they never speak to the royal, but she could definitely ask Derek what they were talking about without coming off as that possessive girlfriend she could... sometimes come off as. Rhapsody shrugged.

"I know, he is pretty great. But, I would know that seeing that I get to wake up to it every day." Poppy scoffed, looking the small girl up and down. Still not getting what was so great about the artist. "Lucky you." Rhapsody nodded her head as Poppy started to walk towards the backyard. "Yea, I guess you could say I'm pretty lucky." Poppy shared one last fake chuckle with Rhapsody before turning around, rolling her eyes. Rhapsody groaned, taking out her phone to text Derek when she heard a familiar voice coming closer to her. She looked up from her bright iPhone. When she took in the compliment and saw Jasmine's face, she grew a bashful smile on her heart-shaped face with heat coming to her face. She didn't do well getting genuine compliments from others. "Thanks, Jas but I really don't. You look pretty though!" She looked around for a second with her brows furrowed. "What have you been up to? Have you made Sam have some fun?"

When she barely opened her eyes. Malcolm took a deep breath, knowing that something was definitely wrong with his girl. This notion was only cemented when she couldn't even say his name completely without struggling. One of his hands rubbed her head to see if she had a fever, maybe she was sick but she physically seemed fine. She wasn't burning up or anything. He couldn't even make out what she had said after attempting to say his name. Malcolm knew this was not just from drinking, hell when they were together she was barely tipsy, if not sober. She had a higher tolerance for alcohol than this, he's seen it. So, he knew something was truly wrong with her. He wanted to someone who could probably help more than he could. But, he wasn't about to leave her alone where anyone could do God knows what. Whether Leah liked it or not, the jock was very protective of her. He knew she could take care of herself, which was a major turn on for him but she couldn't take care of herself right now. He took out his phone about to message Rhapsody, or Derek, hell anyone could help more than he could. But before he could even type a word. He could hear someone yell at him, asking or more like demanding to know what he was doing. "Great." This was the last thing he needed; some drunk asshole trying to be the hero when they probably couldn't even take care of themselves. When Danielle came into view, he only remembered her because Rhapsody was helping her in one of their classes or something. When she demanded that he move away from her, he got off of his knees and backed away from the queen bee.

He didn't need to make a scene. Then it hit him exactly what Danielle thought Malcolm was trying to do with the unconscious girl.
He shook his head. "It's seriously not what you think." But she wasn't paying attention to what he was saying as she checking on Leah and as much he was just wanted to get Aaliyah out of this party and to the emergency room. He had to respect the fact that someone who wasn't even Leah's friend was wanting to help her. He just wished he wasn't on the other side of the girl's scorn. When she asked how much Leah had to drink, he shrugged his shoulders. "I have no idea. I saw her an hour ago and she was completely fine next thing I know she's texting me saying that something was wrong, she couldn't stay warm, and she needed help." Now he was started to get stressed out. "I have no idea what to do except take her to the ER but, if you can help her please do."

Jazz's eyes focused on the blue-eyed brunette, silent. Jenna said nothing to change her declaration, shrugging at Jazz's inquiring eyes. Luke wasn't exactly the quiet goody two-shoes, but he was never one to get into the trouble Roman Eliades got into. While Jenna and Luke weren't particularly close, the former knew that the two Kim siblings were friends with Derek's little brother. The blonde then turned to her brother, who nodded, confirming Jenna's statement. Jazz's eyebrows quirked up, clearly concerned.

"What was Luke doing in the middle of all that?" Jazz inquired, genuinely curious, her eyes flickering to Sam. Out of everyone there, he seemed to know Luke best. The pair may seem like unlikely friends, but to be honest, unlikely friends was kind of Sam's thing. After all, no one truly expected Sam and Jenna's friendship, but it definitely worked out. Sam simply shrugged in response to his sister's question, glancing back in the direction of the scene.

"I don't know," Sam mumbled, glancing back down at his phone. He was most likely checking for a response to the text message he presumably sent Luke earlier that night. "We only saw the end of everything and then he and Roman left."

Both Jenna and Jazz caught the subtle shift in Sam's expression. The latter tried to help out immediately. "Don't worry too much, Sammy," The blonde chimed in cheerily. "I'm sure he's fine.". Jazz continued on with her somewhat cheerful ramble, clearly attempting to give her little brother a change of scenery. "Luke is more fierce than Jenna and I combined." she joked, throwing Jenna a playful look as she grasped her brother's hand.

"I'm insulted," Jenna gasped dramatically, putting a hand on her heart in a joking manner. "But seriously Sammy, anyone fiercer than even one of us," Jenna referred to herself and Jazz, "can handle himself, no problem." The brunette smiled at her artist friend, attempting to ease his worries. She was never the sensitive one of the two, but Sam was one of her best friends, and she wanted to help. Jenna was known for her rather harsh nature, but didn't put too much effort into treading lightly with Sam, mainly because she knew her friend was quite used to her bluntness. Sam knew Jenna meant no harm.

"What you should be worrying about," Jazz continued, in a teasing tone, "is making sure you don't end up snatched again." Jenna swore she saw a hint of a mischievous smile.

Sam's cheeks flushed at his sister's teasing, and Jenna laughed. Jazz gestured to the back door, inviting Jenna, and even Nick, who was downing a shot of beer, for some fresh air. Nick had a slightly surprised look on his face, but started moving with little hesitation.

"Well," he started, grinning, setting his glass down. "Getting drunk isn't ideal." He slid out of his seat.

"Why aren't you hanging out with your little gang of jocks, Nicky?" Jenna questioned, her tone slightly teasing. Hey, they were friends. Sure, Jenna wasn't as close with Nick as she was with Sam, but they were on good terms. The light-haired jock raised a brow at the nickname, but let it slide.

"To be honest," he started, "I have no fucking idea what the hell they're doing right now." Nick shrugged. "Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, they're probably just doing their own thing. We're not exactly a giggling group of Royals." Nick's tone as he said the last part showed that what he said wasn't meant to be offensive.

Jenna shrugged. "Good enough for me."

Danielle's hand went to Aaliyah's forehead, checking for a temperature. As Malcolm insisted that it wasn't whatever she thought it was, she turned around to glare at him. She was tempted to say something, but instead turned back to Aaliyah. However, what Malcolm said next made her stop and hesitate. He genuinely sounded panicked and concerned... Not at all like somebody who was the type of guy to get a girl this drunk only to sleep with her. She straightened up and took a step towards him, looking him up and down.

"Okay. I'm going to take you on your word for now, because frankly, we don't have time to waste. The interrogation can come later. But you're going to help me out on this, okay?" She asked. "And you need to stay calm. If you pass out on me with panic, I'm leaving you wherever you fall. Got it?" She demanded. However, she didn't wait for an answer, spinning on her heel and bending down to Aaliyah again. She was going to give Malcolm the benefit of the doubt. Like she'd said, she didn't have the time to interrogate him... or to doubt him. He seemed like a decent enough person, and she was guessing it was his shirt covering her. Aaliyah needed the help.

Aaliyah wasn't conscious enough to walk, that was for sure. Danielle was hesitant about calling an ambulance, though. It would cause a lot of unnecessary attention, attention that Danielle was pretty sure the Queen Bee wouldn't want. "What do we do? Do we try and carry her out? Or do we just say fuck it and call an ambulance?" She asked, looking up at Malcolm. "Is there a side way we can get out? Because, I'm guessing that Aaliyah wouldn't want any unnecessary attention, right?"

Cat's Outfit
There were a lot of crazy things that came out of Cat's mouth, so Cydnee's first instinct was to not think anything of the girl's petulant demand that she wanted her drink the way that everyone else got it; with powder added. Her first thought wasn't to assume that Cat was referring to drugs, but she still knew better than to just roll her eyes and demand that the girl drink what was given to her. She eyed her with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism, saying, "What do you mean, 'add powder to it'?"

"You don't know how to make drinks as well as you acted," was how Cat opted to respond, as if Cydnee having to ask what she meant spoke volumes on the girl's lack of mixology experience. She wasn't angry or upset, but rather a bit smitten that she seemed to know more than her friend.

"You just don't know the difference between Kool Aid and an alcoholic drink," Cydnee scoffed in return. It literally would not have surprised Cydnee in the slightest if someone had randomly decided to use Kool Aid or a similar form of powdered drink as a mixer for their drink, and Cat assumed that it was some magic potion that every drink needed to be deemed alcoholic.

"Juliette and either Ari or Camila got powder in their drinks and they weren't drinking Kool Aid," Cat answered defensively. She definitely knew the difference between Kool Aid and alcoholic drinks. If the drinks she had seen being made with a powdery substance were Kool Aid, Cat most definitely would have recognized the powder as having bright colors, not to mention the fact that she would have gotten a chuckle out of mimicking the way that the Kool Aid man on the package spoke in commercials when he broke down the walls of houses. "Aaliyah didn't get it, though. Hers got a lime instead but I don't like limes."[/color]

The mention of the Royals was the only reason why Cydnee started to take Cat seriously. Her cousin's name being brought up automatically made Cydnee feel more defensive than normal. Obviously, Aaliyah was very popular and could hold her own. That didn't mean that everyone liked her though, and especially being in a different clique, nonetheless social level than Aaliyah, meant that Cydnee often encountered people who had bad things to say about Aaliyah. Normally, they didn't realize that Cydnee was close to her until Cydnee corrected them (and she always did), but even knowing that Aaliyah wouldn't give a damn about what lower level listers had to say about her, Cydnee still felt a need to defend her. More-so, though, Cydnee knew that girls like Juliette, Ari and Camila weren't the type who would want a Kool Aid mixed drink. They were too classy and uptight for anything that didn't look like it came straight out of the bar of an upscale New York hotel rooftop bar. On top of that, for some reason, it was when she thought of pretty girls like those Royals that it clicked in her mind that some ugly, asshole of a guy might want to take advantage of their looks and popularity with a date rape drug. "Someone put powder in their drinks?" she asked, more serious now as she spoke quieter and grasped Cat's arm to make sure that there was very little space between them.

"Yes! Well, they crushed up something and made it powder and then put it in," Cat explained, frowning slightly at the tight grip of Cydnee's hand on her arm, but not pulling away.

"And who might that someone be?" This would be the telltale fact that would tell Cydnee whether she had to worry or not.

"Alan and... I forget the other boy," Cat answered after a moment of thought. She tried to mimic Cydnee's seriousness but soon found herself getting wrapped up in her own thoughts that were more enjoyable. "I was fixing all of the bottles back there. Did you know there's a bumble bee on one of the kinds of bottles? Like... what flavor could a bumble bee taste like?!"

She didn't have time to humor Cat's airhead remarks right now and the way that she squeezed Cat's arm, somewhat out of frustration, but also as a signal for her to focus, reflected that. "Why was he making drinks for them?"

"To be nice, I guess?"

"Did they ask him to make drinks for them?" Cydnee said, knowing she had to be more specific if she wanted to get the answer she was looking for.

"No, Ace did."

"And did Ace watch them make these drinks in the way that you're describing?" Cydnee didn't know Ace, but she knew that Aaliyah and him went way back, and that in itself was the only reason why she followed up with this question. It would have been easy to assume that Ace was behind this, because he fit the mold of a spoiled pretty boy who looked like he thought he deserved every girl on the planet to bow down to him. Cydnee could have assumed that he had drugged the girls, but she decided to delve deeper.

"No."

"Okay. Go find Charlotte, I'll meet up with you in a minute," she said. That was all she needed to know, but as she spun away, she quickly turned back and grabbed Cat once more, pulling her in closely once she was facing her. "And don't you mention this to a single person, okay? The powder, the boys making drinks for those girls? They did something bad and I don't need you telling anyone about it, you hear me?"

Cat nodded, only because she still didn't think anything of the powder incident, even though Cydnee called what had happened "bad". She assumed that they had made the drinks poorly, as if it was Cydnee's way of saying that her skills were superior to theirs and that Cat was better off without the powdered version of the drink, and knowing that was enough to get her to sip the drink as she wandered away from Cydnee. It was definitely sweet, but she still grimaced at the taste of the alcohol that the small sip left in her mouth.

With Cat gone, Cydnee didn't know what she was going to do next. She had to do something, but she didn't know what. She did text Aaliyah as she moved towards Ace's home, saying "wya", but she didn't seek out her cousin first. According to Cat's recollection, Aaliyah hadn't been given a drugged drink. Cydnee had no reason to worry about her, and was only texting her so that she could inform her of what had happened to her friends, if she didn't already know. She didn't see Malcolm and Charlotte tending to the referenced girl on her way inside, but she did see Camila and Arizona in passing as she entered the house and they exited. Neither of them looked drugged, though Cydnee didn't observe them for long enough to truly tell if they were intoxicated. She had witnessed a girl who had been roofied last summer when she was back in Denver, and it definitely didn't look anything like the state the Ari and Camila were in. The fact that they weren't with Juliette made Cydnee feel like she needed to be more concerned for that one... even if she definitely had a love-hate relationship with Juliette (with the love part only secretly existing on Cydnee's end of things).

Through a few small conversations, Cydnee found out that someone had seen Juliette go upstairs a while ago with Ari. Obviously Ari had come down since, so Cydnee assumed Juliette had too, and had just separated from Ari since then, but she decided to investigate anyway. Part of her felt weird for suddenly wanting to play Sherlock Holmes and caring about a girl who was only ever rude to her, but yes, there was definitely a part of Cydnee that wanted to come out of this looking like the hero. That was why she didn't follow up with Aaliyah more urgently, and instead, found herself pushing open a bathroom door after she heard movement inside. The scene that she found inside involved Finn Maxwell standing up, putting on a condom, with Juliette nearly-naked laying on the floor in a state that Cydnee could tell at a mere first glance was not a normal or consenting one. There were a lot of people in LA who were immoral, but this was the first time that Cydnee had ever witnessed anything firsthand that made her feel like she was about to be sick to her stomach. Had she not walked in at that very moment, what was this boy about to do to this girl who Cydnee normally liked to hate, but right now, wanted to just wrap up in a blanket and carry home? "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

By now, Juliette wasn't unconscious, but within the past five minutes it seemed like her arms and legs had changed to feel like they weighed one hundred pounds each. The space between herself and reality had grown intensely, and though her body felt weird and foreign and broken, her brain was still functioning. She could hear what was going on around her, and when she garnered the strength to open her eyes, she could make out the boy on top of her, but she could no longer muster up the ability to speak. It was scary how quickly she had went from feeling the drugs effects slightly, to being downright immobilized by them.

Obviously, the situation that Cydnee was walking in on looked bad. It was bad. It was one of those scenes that you would find in some public service announcement videos for college kids, warning them to not leave their drinks alone at a frat party if they didn't want to end up in Juliette's position. Even if the effects of the drugs she had consumed did more to debilitate her movement and awareness, rather than truly harm her physically, she had to have looked disheveled to say the least. Lying half-naked on someone's bathroom floor wasn't a good look for anyone, especially when you couldn't even bring yourself to move to attempt to cover up when the door was swung open by an un-involved party. If Juliette had watched this scene play out, move by move, and it wasn't her on the bathroom floor, could she really crucify Finn, though? He was obviously in a very bad position, and he definitely made mistakes along the way, but he was wasted in his own right. Juliette had given him consent at the beginning of their interact, and hadn't seemed this gone to a point where Finn had any true reason to believe that she was mistaking him for Ace. Obviously he should have noticed midway through their encounter that something was wrong with her, but they were both lucky that Cydnee barged in before Finn could actually do something that would really cause trouble.

"The fuck?" The bathroom was small enough that the door swinging open behind him nearly hit him, and he had half the mind to kick back at it to shut it in the face of whoever was trying to interrupt what was going on there. Luckily he didn't, because it wasn't some stumbling drunk moron looking for a free bathroom to use, but Cydnee Black, and with her presence came a bout of soberness as accusations of rape flew into the air. "It's not-- It's not what it looks like! I swear!" Finn insisted, quickly zipping his pants back up. Only then did he look down at Juliette and realize that something wasn't right. Not only was this situation compromising in the first place, since no one wanted to be walked in on mid-hookup, but looking at Juliette in itself made Finn realize that something was wrong.

"Really? What is going on then, if you weren't getting ready to put that dick inside of this girl who's basically passed out?" Cydnee snapped back. She and Juliette weren't friends by any means, but Cydnee was sure that even if she didn't have a secret crush on her cousin's best friend, that she would still defend her in a situation like this. Especially when it was a good-for-nothing jock involved. Out of all of the cliques, it was the least surprising to find a jock doing something like this, and Cydnee now had little doubt in her mind that Finn was the friend of Alan's who Cat couldn't remember the name of.

"She wasn't like that a second ago!" Finn insisted, taking a step towards the girl on the floor before backing up. He was going to kneel down beside her, maybe shake some sense and awareness into her, but he was now aware enough to know that laying a finger on her probably wouldn't be the best look. "Juliette! Tell her!" he had to insist, though, hoping that maybe she would miraculously recollect what had truly happened when he first found her in this bathroom.

No, no, no. Cydnee was not about to let this boy get anywhere near Juliette, and though he seemed to realize that as he backed up, she felt the need to place herself in between them and take a few steps forward on top of that, to back him up even further. "Look, boy," she said, quickly growing intensely serious as a finger prodded him in the chest. She didn't care that she was inches shorter than him. She would swing on him in an instant if she had to. "I'm going to give you a five minute head start before I let her brother know about this. Maybe I'll give him your name. Maybe I'll say I didn't recognize the person who just nearly raped his sister. Depends on how I'm feeling in a few minutes. Regardless, while I get her clothes back on, I suggest you sprint out of this house and maybe down a few blocks, call an Uber, and take your ass home before you really get your ass kicked. I'm not saying this is done, but I might be nice and let it be done for the night."

"I wasn't going to rape her! I would never!"

"Again, that's not what it looked like to me and the clock is ticking. Just go." It was bullshit that he wasn't going to have sex with her. He was putting on a damn condom the second she walked in the story! Cydnee wasn't in the mood to argue, now that her heart was racing with a mixture of shock, fear and anger, and not with Juliette still lying barely-awake on the floor in front of them. She had bigger things to handle right now.

Finn was in full panic mode. He wanted to stay and defend himself, tell Cydnee what really happened, that for all he knew, Juliette had gotten to this nearly-passed out stage in the second that Cydnee had burst into the door. She had asked him to come on to her. Hell, she had even been asking his friends to get him to come on to her (from what he had been told)! He wasn't raping her! He wasn't that kind of person! That accusation was one that was strong enough to make Finn feel more sober than he had in the past hour. Rape was not a joke. Taking advantage of a girl who was unable to consent was not a joke. But Juliette had consented. As far as Finn was concerned, the last few minutes had been amazing for both of them, and it was only now that he was truly realizing that something had changed in her. She hadn't just become more quiet and submissive because she wanted him to take control, like the guys had suggested. She had no choice in that matter, now. She really seemed like she was about to pass out. It scared him for her sake, but there was definitely fear there for his own sake as well, at the mention of Adrien finding out. Finn knew that Adrien would beat the living shit out of him. Ace would do the same. He would be screwed if either of them found out, even if they didn't beat him up. He prayed that Cydnee would have pity on him and hide his identity, but he didn't know her enough to trust that she would. He felt like his hands were tied behind his back at this point; there was nothing to do but leave and do exactly as she said... not only leave Ace's house, but the surrounding area in case Adrien or Ace did come out looking for him, and then call an Uber home when he was already a few blocks away. And that was exactly what he did, as he hurried out of the Bronson household.

With the blonde boy gone, Cydnee locked the bathroom door behind him and knelt down on the tiled floor besides Juliette. Though she felt the need to be compassionate in a situation like this, she couldn't keep all of her bitter sass suppressed as she grabbed the girl's clothes off of the floor and said, "How the hell did you get yourself into this situation?" She doubted the brunette would be able to give her a good answer, and she knew that it wasn't the victim's fault in a situation like this, but still, it had to be said. She spent a good few minutes trying to get Juliette's bodysuit back on her, but her arms were too heavy and the girl felt like dead weight as each of her fingers got stuck in the holes in the material. In the midst of it, Cydnee sent out a text to Charlotte reading, "Come to the upstairs bathroom by the stairs now. Your sister is passed out", then deciding that she had given Finn enough time to escape before this situation came to light. She had given up on the body suit by then, but had redressed Juliette's lower half and opted to shed her own cardigan to slide over Juliette's top half. "I texted your sister to come up here. I think someone slipped something into your drink," she explained.

When Danielle said the interrogation would have to wait, at least Malcolm could take a breath of relief at that. He didn't need to get grilled about helping Leah right now. As she finished talking Malc just shook his head, looking down at the queen bee in the lawn chair to make sure she was still breathing. But the last thing he needed was her telling him to stay calm. He was calm. As calm as he could be with something being really wrong with his... friend since there was nothing else he could really call her especially in front of other people. He threw his arms up with a sharp breath. "Yea, got it." But by the time he answered, she was already looking back towards Leah.

He went to the other side of the chair to bend down at her before Danielle spoke again which happened to snap Malcolm out of his worried state for a moment to look back at her. He shook his head at the idea of an ambulance. That would just bring more unwanted attention towards Leah and the whole situation, the party would be broken up, and everyone would gossip that she just had too much to drink and couldn't take care of herself without the help of Malcolm and some rebel. "Nah, that's the last thing she needs right now. I called a car, there's a hospital like ten minutes away." He felt his phone go off to signal that the car was here. He took a quick sigh in relief. "Just in time." He raised his eyebrows as he got his arm under her to pick her up. He whispered in her ear, hoping she could hear him so she wouldn't be frightened at someone picking her up. "Hey, baby. We're getting to a hospital, alright? Everything's gonna be okay." He looked towards Dani. Before looking around the yard. He had only been to Ace's a few times and from what he remembered there was only one way out. The front, of course. "I don't think there's a side exit or anything." He picked up the unconscious girl with ease with her head laying on his shoulder. "If we don't bring too much attention I think we'll be fine. Even if we do, I don't really give a shit." As the pair made their way through the house, Malcolm tried not run into anyone. Locking eyes with his sister for a moment before looking away, trying not to have her notice what the hell was going on and walk over. He knew she'd bring it up that he didn't talk to her later and that was fine. He'd deal with it then.

So many other people around them seemed to far gone to really think about what was transpiring around them or to care about what was happening. It felt like a lifetime. Walking through the house, making sure Danielle was still behind him making her way through the crowds. When they reached the front and he pushed open the door with his foot, keeping it open with his free hand and he saw the car he took a deep breath. Finally. He carefully slid himself and the queen in the car, with her still sitting on his lap. He nodded towards the driver, who seemed concerned about the girl. "She's fine, she just had too much to drink. Change of plans man. We need to get to Cedars-Sinai." He didn't need the man to think anything else was going on. He had enough on his plate at the moment. As they drove off he looked towards Dani. "I gotta ask though, what made you help her? I mean, are ya'll close or anything?" He didn't think they were and even if they weren't. He was grateful that she helped him out, he was just curious and trying to keep himself calm for the next ten or so minutes on the drive there.

Danielle still wasn't totally sure about dragging Aaliyah through the party, but when Malcolm informed her he had a car already booked, she was pleasantly surprised. Perhaps still a tad suspicious, but she was starting to believe that he hadn't planned on doing anything to Aaliyah. She wanted to offer to help Malcolm with Aaliyah, but he lifted her easily. He comforted Aaliyah as he did so, furthering Danielle's good impression of him.

Danielle had learned that, if you wanted people to not notice something about you, the best trick was to feign complete and utter confidence. So she strode through the party without even glancing at anyone, her resting bitch face at its best, acting as if nothing was wrong. In a party like this, her marching through the house looking like she was ready to kill somebody was more noticeable than someone who was possibly drunk being escorted out. She could make up some story about seeing a guy groping a girl at a later point if she was questioned about it. Not that anybody questioned her resting bitch face any more.

Danielle felt herself breathing a sigh of relief as they reached the car. She was more concerned than she was willing to show or admit. Had anyone else had their drink spiked? She felt fine, so she knew her drinks had been fine. But... what if they hadn't been? She'd been alone for far too long, and she'd had guys trying to get with her all evening. If she had been roofied, what would have happened? Would anyone have even cared enough to see if she was okay?

She was jolted back to reality as Malcolm asked her something, and she just shrugged. "Me and Aaliyah? Nah. I think I've only spoken to her a handful of times. Different friends, and I can't stand most of hers. But... us girls have got to look out for each other. Even if you're not friends. There was nobody else to look after her, so I stepped up. I can't be sure that somebody would do the same for me. I make myself too unlikable. But... I'd like to think that somebody would if I was in that situation." She sighed.

"What about you? Are you guys... friends?" She asked.

Any other time Malcolm excused himself from a round of video games and Derek would've been able to just let it go. It wouldn't be the first time, after all, and it usually was no big deal. However, the puzzled and almost concerned expression on his friend's face remained at the back of Derek's head. It disallowed him to fully lose himself in the current rehash of a friendly rivalry over old school video games like Donkey Kong nor in the beer that had gotten passed around. He had even refused the next drink, puzzling over whether or not to send Malcolm a text. It also, in his bout of worry, occurred to him that he hadn't checked with or heard from Luke yet. Although the fight that had occurred earlier had gotten to them in their room, the specifics had been lost in translation. And Derek couldn't always jump up at the mere mention of a gay guy being involved in a fight at Buckley. Though there weren't nearly as many openly gay guys with such a 'traditional' private school, they still existed and his brother was not the only one. Yet and still, even though he and Luke tended to not hang out together with their peers, at the end of the day, it wasn't uncommon for his brother to at least send a text of some sort. Inform him of not coming home or coming late. Hell, they've run into each other at parties. None of those things happened, so before long, Derek was on his feet and slipping out of the room, shooting a text his brother's way and also one towards Malcolm, deciding to go look for the latter. If Luke needed him, he knew how to reach Derek and most of the time - a common remark from his brother's own mouth - Luke didn't need Derek at all. So, there was that.

To: Malc
Yo u ok? U kinda dipped lookin bothered

It wouldn't have occurred to Derek to immediately go to the backyard, even though Danielle and Malcolm would have already slipped out by then, and by the time he had made it to the main portion of the house, Malcolm had already carried Aaliyah through with hardly any detection from the other party-goers. What he didn't miss, and perhaps that had more to do with his Rhapsody-senses as opposed to actual observational skills, was his girlfriend and Jasmine talking. It also probably had something to do with height being in his favor. Nevertheless, Derek moved his way through the partially drunk teens easily before slipping behind his girlfriend, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. "Hey, you," he muttered and kissed the back of her head. "You seen Malc? He was with me earlier and then something must've happened cuz he looked at his phone and dipped." Not to be rude, and also because she could probably help him with the second person he wanted to check on, Derek raised his gaze to Jasmine, giving her a small smile. "Hey, Jasmine. Sorry to interrupt, but you seen Luke? Haven't seen him since he left the house earlier and I usually at least get a drunk text about how much he's gonna disown me for whatever I wore for the day. Haven't got it yet."

Charlotte hadn't even heard Danielle explain that she was going to wait a little bit away from all of the chaos surrounding the food, but at the same time, she wasn't shocked or worried when she finally turned away with her plate of food and didn't see the girl there. She wasn't the type of person who kept tabs on her friends too much. Charlotte was too comfortable with doing her own thing to ever feel insecure hanging out by herself at a party, and it was easy for her to believe that Dani must have seen another friend and drifted away with them. She would definitely call her out on ditching when she found her again, if only to be playful, but there wouldn't be any real hurt behind it.

She was curious as to where Cydnee went, though, but that was only because she was supposed to be bringing drinks to them. Charlotte's eyes searched for an empty seating area, only to have them first land upon Cat, who seemed unoccupied. The cup in her hand didn't worry Charlotte, only because she was certain that it was filled with soda or juice and not alcohol. Even if she knew that Cydnee had given her alcohol, Charlotte wouldn't have been destroyed by it. She probably would have even found it to be a bit humorous, though it secretly would have made her feel the need to watch over the redhead just a tad bit more throughout the night. As she weighed whether she wanted to approach Cat and wish a headache upon herself this early or not, she got a text from Cydnee. She opened it, assuming that it was the girl telling her to meet her somewhere because she had found a spot to sit for them, but instead read a text about Juliette apparently being passed out. It probably spoke to Charlotte and Juliette's sisterly relationship, in that Charlotte wasn't worried, but actually felt inconvenienced by this text. Juliette had a tendency to over drink, and though admittedly, her friends were good at taking care of her, Charlotte often had to take over by the end of the night. The night was still young now, though, so she was more angry than anything at her sister for what she assumed to be her drinking too much this early on.

She obliged Cydnee's request, though, if only because she felt like it was weird enough in itself that Cydnee felt compelled to text her when Juliette normally had friends of her own by her side. Charlotte didn't put her plate down; she definitely wasn't that concerned, and in the back of her mind, she hoped that Cydnee had gotten the drinks and had them with her before somehow ending up in the second level of Ace's home, but either way, she made her way inside and upstairs. It took a few knocks on the door of the bathroom that Cydnee had specified for it to be opened, but once it was, she found exactly what Cydnee had described. Juliette was on the floor, halfway clothed with Cydnee's cardigan keeping her modest on the upper-half of her body. Though she was smirking at first, the smile faded substantially when she gently kicked Juliette's arm, expecting some sort of drunken, dramatic rebuttal in return, but instead, she received nothing. Her arm fell limply beside her, and though her sister's head moved a little bit and there was a quiet groan, it wasn't the response that she was expecting. This was not Juliette after one too many cocktails. Still, Charlotte was not the type of sister, or even person, really, to become very expressive in her worry or concern. "Don't tell me she tried coke or something, because I'll murder her right here," Charlotte said. Charlotte had some experience in drugs on her own, but even she wasn't big enough in that scene to say that she did anything regularly (or even more than once) aside from marijuana. She expected and knew that her sister had even less involvement in it, but she knew from just looking at Juliette that this was related to some sort of drug. "I don't have to take her to the hospital or anything, right? She's obviously not dead," she said, only then kneeling down to confirm that her sister actually did have a pulse, even though her slight movements earlier basically confirmed that. "I'll call an Uber and text Adrien to come get her. Are her friends around? How did you find her out of all people?" she questioned as she texted Adrien, saying, "Get upstairs now. Juliette's passed out. Definitely from drugs. We're going home and I can't carry her."

Jasmine's smile morphed into a quirked brow at Rhapsody's response to her compliment. No one in their right mind could deny that Rhaps was a beautiful girl, though she seemed to have the same complex as Sam. Not realizing how genuinely attractive they are, both inside and out. She let a soft sigh escape her lips as she accepted the compliment boomeranged towards her with a soft "Thank you". but made sue to quickly ass "But you look even better and don't even try to fight me on that!" a sassy finger is lifted towards her to reaffirm her point.

Her question about Sam brings Jasmine to take in her surroundings, realizing he had stayed a few steps behind with Nick and Jenna. She nods in response and gestures towards an incoming Samuel with a proud smile. "How can he not have fun when he's looking like that?" she knows it's a bit of a stretch to say that considering how obvious its been that Sam is feeling overwhelmed by all the attention he's been getting all afternoon, but she also knows him well enough to know that after all its said and done, a very microscopic part of him enjoys it. "Guys and gals have been swarming like bees to honey." It may be one of the very rare occasions in which Jazz is able to do something like this for her brother, so might as well milk it as much as possibility allows.

The familiar baritone voice brings Jasmine from her thoughts and her line of vision lands on a mildly worried Derek. Her first instinct is to assume that he's heard about what happened with Luke, but second guessing brings her to think that he is acting much too calm for that. Surely enough, he asks about Rhapsody's brother instead, only pausing a moment before turning his attention on the petite blonde. Jasmine is well aware she is below average height, but standing so close a tower-height couple makes her feel a bit dwarf-like. Her smile in response to his greeting immediately deflates when he questions her on Luke's whereabouts. She listens attentively, all the while desperately wracking her brain for a descent response. Clearly no one has informed him on what happened, and Jasmine has no right to do so. Even if he is asking her directly, she's not one to be the bearer of bad news.

"I actually haven't seen him all night." Technically, it isn't a lie. She hasn't seen or talked to the little fireball at all during the course of the day. "I'm sure he's doing fine." that too was not a lie, though maybe a bending of truth. Jasmine can't be one hundred percent certain that he is okay, but she can sure as hell hope so.

Her eyes immediately land on Sammy as he walks up to the small trio, gaze pleading for him not to say a word about Luke. Though Sam has never been the one to spill any kind of beans either. The dark haired boy offers a genuine smile towards Rhapsody and Derek shifting slightly on his heels to prevent the thin fabric of his jeans from tugging at uncharted territory. "Hey" his voice is as soft as usual, though loud enough to be heard over the music. Albeit a bit delayed, but he does take note of the atmosphere, as well as Jasmine's silent warning, and keeps his mouth shut. He won't be the one to ruin the party for Derek.

Cydnee's Outfit
Cydnee really couldn't act like she was surprised by how nonchalant Charlotte was about this. She could sense that the girl tensed up a little bit when she realized that Juliette wasn't just playing around or being dramatic, but she still wasn't in an all-out panic like most people would be if Juliette was their sibling. Part of it probably had to do with how Charlotte and Juliette interacted in general, but additionally, Charlotte also wasn't a very emotional person. Cydnee was aware of how she preferred to bottle up her feelings, so it was more necessary to be observant and pick up on the little things in Charlotte's behavior when you wanted to figure out what she was truly thinking. "I don't think you have to take her to the hospital," Cydnee confirmed. If they had found Juliette like this and Cydnee hadn't spoken to Cat about why she was like this, it would have been a definite yes that she should go to the hospital. Even the vagueness of Cat's "powder" description meant that a hospital trip was probably a good idea, if only to get some IV fluids to keep Juliette hydrated and to flush the drugs out of her system faster, or to confirm what drug was actually in her system. Knowing that she was this gone because she was drugged was somehow more comforting than seeing her nearly passed out and not knowing why, and Cydnee was sure that she had heard stories of people getting roofied before in college and the likes, and just spending the night in their dorm and then waking up the next morning with the worst hangover ever. "You obviously don't want her to die or something at your house, so it's your call, but..."

She wasn't sure how she wanted to approach the conversation with Cat, and what she had walked in on. It was probably a little sick, but Cydnee liked being the only one who knew. She liked the power that came with that, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to relinquish it so soon. However, this was obviously serious, and Charlotte was a friend. She had to say something since it was her sister on the floor. "Cat vaguely recollected a story to me about watching some jocks put 'powder' into Juliette's drink earlier, which is definitely 'roofie' in Cat-language. That's why I came up here looking for her, right after Cat told me, which was right after I left you. You know, to make sure she was okay and everything..." Could she leave it at that? Let Charlotte just think that Juliette found her way up to this bathroom alone after being roofied, and everything ended there? She could... part of her wanted to... but she found herself continuing to talk fter glancing down at Juliette once more. "Her friends weren't up here but when I came in there was some blonde guy in here. I don't know who he was. Maybe he was from a different school or something, and don't freak out, but she was naked and just as dead as she is now, and he was standing over her ready to put on a condom when I came in." She didn't know how someone could not freak out at that, but then again, this was Charlotte. What she didn't understand even more was why she was keeping Finn's identity a secret, when she owed him absolutely nothing, but she did. "I obviously flipped the fuck out on him and told him to get the fuck out and he did, and that was when I texted you. I don't think he... did anything to her." Saying it aloud made Cydnee realize that she didn't know when Finn had done before she had walked in. They may not have had sex, but who knows what he had done to Juliette before that. She didn't know Finn enough to speak on his character in any way that would require her to defend him.

Rhapsody wanted to object to Jas saying that she looked better the smaller blonde girl but before she could say a word Jasmine lifted a finger. She just took the compliment with a bashful smile. "Thanks, girl." Rhapsody was never good at taking compliments, especially from friends because she felt that they were only saying these things because they were her friend. It was even worst with Derek, sometimes she believed him like when he would lick his lips and look at her with those hooded eyes of his but other than that she always objected even if she only did in her mind. When they began talking about Samuel who wasn't far away from the pair, Rhapsody looked towards him to see how good he looked. She had to smirk towards Sammy. He did look really good which wasn't surprising. He was a cute guy, just not her type. He was quiet and shy and she liked guys with a little more confidence to them since she liked to joke around saying it was her job to be too humble in her relationship. "You weren't kidding, he looks really good, Jas! Looking like that he will have to shoo his admirers away with a stick." She chuckled, returning her gaze back to Jasmine for a moment before getting the feeling that someone was walking up behind her.

She didn't really react until she felt a chill crawl its way up her spine. Partially because it caught her by surprise but mostly because she knew exactly who it was. No one else really had the balls to flirt with Rhapsody let alone touch her, not with someone like Derek constantly with her. And when she felt the arms tighten and saw the small feather tattoo on his hand, she knew exactly who it was, allowing herself to finally drop the surprised look off of her face and turn it into a smile as he greeted and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his. "Hey baby." When he asked if she had seen Malcolm her smile flattened a bit as she sighed sharply. She turned towards the drifter slightly before speaking. "I saw him pass through but he didn't come say anything to me. He looked at me and left," She tried not to look like it annoyed her, but she wasn't doing a good job. Anyone who wasn't close to her wouldn't be able to tell that she was... less than pleased with her brother but with the pair around her. She just didn't get it. He's been acting weird for a while now. Spending the night at friends' houses, keeping things from both her and Derek, it just didn't make any sense! And now, what? He was too busy to say anything to his own sister. He could talk to Poppy but, not to her? Malc never just ignored her even in public around his jock friends who already made it clear what they thought of Rhaps. An artist pain who just so happened to have a great ass, their words. She took a deep breath before smile towards the two and tightening her grip slightly on Derek's arm, feeling the few small scratches she had left on his arm. "But, it is fine. We can call him on the way home or when we get there. It will be... fine." If he actually went home tonight. Which was doubtful.

She couldn't be happier when Derek changed the attention from her to Jasmine. That is until she heard what he asked. She slyly slid back how she was moments ago with her back against him, trying to plead Jasmine with her big eyes not to say anything about the whole Luke thing. It wasn't like she wanted to hide it from him, she just wanted him to have a great night. And besides, it wasn't like he wasn't keeping something from her (not that Rhapsody knew that). She chuckled at Derek saying that Luke hadn't texted him about disowning him. Which he couldn't say tonight because Derek looked good. Not that Rhapsody ever saw him any other way other than fine as hell. And she let that be known. Thankfully she said that she hadn't seen him all night but assured Derek that the sophomore was fine. "If he was in trouble he would have texted me." She knew if he was in real trouble Luke would have talked to Rhaps probably before Derek since the younger brother didn't feel like she was just trying to act like the boss of him or whatever he would say to Derek when the older brother tried to help him. Rhapsody smiled towards Samuel, waving towards him when he greeted the couple. "Hey Sammy! A little birdy told me you have not been able to keep the suitors away." She smirked with a small wink.

"Stop it, you know you look gor-geous, too!" Ari insisted when Camila complimented her and followed it with a self-depreciating comment. She purposely mimicked the way that Camila pronounced gorgeous teasingly, though she knew that the girl was probably too drunk right now to even catch on to being teased. If she was too drunk for that, she was definitely too drunk to need another drink. Make no mistake that while Ari didn't mind playing the role of the mom to her friends, she didn't like having to be the fun-police. She didn't like being the person to have to kill anyone's vibes or regulate the fun, so if Camila was only tipsy, or even if she ate a slice of pizza or two and a good amount of water, Ari wouldn't be too bothered by the idea of her having another drink after, to keep her buzz going for the night. Right now, though, she just knew it wasn't a good idea.

The level of drunk that Cami was at now was fine because she was still functioning and fun. Too much more alcohol, though, and she would cross over that thin line of being a fun drunk, to being one who was a stumbling mess. It wasn't so much that Ari didn't think she could deal with it, because she knew that she would try her best, but she knew that Camila would regret it the next morning. Cami was a poised girl who had garnered a lot of respect for herself at school. She had a reputation to uphold, and while even she was allowed to let loose with a few drinks every now and then, Ari didn't want her to get to a point where she would do anything that she would regret. "Food first, drinks later!" Ari insisted, giving a tug that was only subtly stronger than the one that Camila had exerted on her, in the opposite direction. The greasy food that was typical at parties like this wasn't the type of food Ari liked to let herself indulge in, but she had enough alcohol in her to decide that she could count tonight as a cheat day for her normally healthier diet.

Ace had returned to the kitchen as promised, after getting his food from outside, but by the time he had returned, he found that the girls had all went their separate ways. He shouldn't have been surprised that the most popular girls in school had people to socialize with and things to do, and though he did genuinely want to spend some time with them, since he was good friends with most of them, even if some more than others, but it didn't bother him too much. There were other people that he ended up talking with in the kitchen, and they provided him with enough of a distraction that he wasn't even thinking about his two good friends who were both quickly succumbing to the effects of the drugs that he had no idea were in the drinks he gave to them. They only crossed his mind when he had finished eating and returned outside with an ice cold beer in his hand, looking for some of his guy friends, and he happened to spot Ari tugging Camila towards the tables that were still pretty full of the delivery foods. "Food first, drinks later?" Ace repeated with a chuckle, not noticing immediately that Cami was considerably drunker than Ari. "Not a bad motto," he decided, and though he was tempted to playfully chide them for ditching him earlier, he found his eyes searching Camila's figure for a moment. He liked Juliette more than he could explain, but right now he definitely couldn't find it in him to regret hooking up with Camila a little while back. Hell, she was looking good enough tonight that he could see himself doing it again. "But making sure my guests are happy is what hosts do best, so want me to grab you another drink while you get some food?" he said, his eyes eventually making their way up to meet Camila's eyes. "If you're not gonna got MIA again the second I leave, that is."

Jenna and Nick watched as Jasmine conversed with Rhapsody and Derek. Jenna liked Rhaps; she was nice. The two girls had many similarities, despite their age difference - for one, they were both artists. Both of them were also quite intelligent. They shared some personality traits, although Jenna thought that Rhaps was too humble for her own good. And Nick was and is - somewhat - bros with Derek. Even though Derek was technically no longer a jock, Nick saw no reason in not being friends with him.

Although his sister was quite openly talking to Derek and Rhapsody, Sam had stayed back with Nick and Jenna. "Come on, Sammy," Jenna chided, swinging an arm around Nick's shoulders. "Go chat with them. They're probably gossiping about you already anyways.

"No need to stick around with loners like us," Nick joked, flashing the younger boy a genuine smile.

As if on cue, Jasmine gestured towards Sam as he started walking towards the group. "Guys and gals have been swarming like bees to honey," Jazz stated mischievously.

While Sam, Jazz, Rhapsody, and Derek talked, Nick felt his phone ring. He frowned slightly as he noticed the number. His uncle never called him unless it was Sunday morning or afternoon. He turned to Jenna.

"Gotta take this," he explained. Jenna gestured for him to do so.

"I'm a big girl," she said, "I can take care of myself." Nick flashed her a thumbs-up, before heading outside to answer his call.

Jenna approached the group of four as Nick left to answer his phone call. She approached just as Derek had asked, "Hey, Jasmine. Sorry to interrupt, but you seen Luke? Haven't seen him since he left the house earlier and I usually at least get a drunk text about how much he's gonna disown me for whatever I wore for the day. Haven't got it yet."

Jenna and Jazz were thinking the same thing; clearly, Derek hadn't heard about the Luke and Roman scandal. Jasmine formulated a decent response.

"I actually haven't seen him all night," Jazz replied smoothly. Technically, Jenn figured, the statement wasn't a lie. "I'm sure he's doing fine."

Jasmine might do things for the faint of heart, but Jenna didn't. She was blunt by nature. She opened her mouth to tell Derek about what Luke was up to - she had no problem being the bearer of bad news, at least she was being honest and giving him the information he wanted - but at the sight of Sam's pleading eyes, the blue-eyed brunette veered off-course. Like Jasmine, Jenna quickly formulated a response to send Derek's way.

"Sorry for crashing your group talk," she apologized almost lamely, biding her time to come up with something, "but to answer your question, Derek - I know it wasn't directed towards me - I haven't seen Luke very recently. But I agree with Jazz, he's probably fine."

Unlike Jasmine's response, there was a direct lie in Jenna's, but then again, "dishonest" was one of her personality traits.

Bea Prinsloo stumbled into the party. She was looking bomb asf. She had red lipstick and a skirt that was so flowy and long. She scanned her eyes through the throng of drunk kids until her eyes met with Samuel Kim. She confidently strode in his direction, sashaying her hips from left to right. She grabbed his face in hers and planted a smooch on his lips. She pulled away, smiling, "Happy fourth anniversary, bitch."
