Introduction
The yellow building is called the Daffodil Building, and in it are apartments 1A and 1B. Each apartment has two bedrooms, and one of everything else (Kitchen, bathroom, etc.). 1A is on the second floor, 1B on the third, and the first floor is entirely occupied by The Mighty Bean Cafe. It's where most of the tenants spend their mornings and it claims to be a million times better than Starbucks despite the fact that their coffee tastes slightly less worse, but bad all the same. Some of the tenants from the other building work there part-time, which brings us to...
The Red Building, and yes, that's what it's called. It used to have an antique shop on the bottom floor, but then the owner moved to Nebraska so they converted it into some sort of communal living room instead. There are a three apartments in the Red Building; 2A, 2B, and 2C. 2C's only slightly smaller than the other two, but it also has two bedrooms, and one of everything else, much like the apartments in the Daffodil Building.
Then there's the building across the street. Considerably newer than the other two, and slightly pricier, but an apartment all the same. Like the Daffodil building, a shop occupies the bottom floor - a boutique called Strut - but it also shares the space with everyone's favorite bar: HUB (Has the greatest margaritas in the planet, and one of the bartenders' a friend). Nobody ever goes to the apartments upstairs, but you can always find at least one of them in the bar on Saturdays (and, occasionally, Fridays).
Between the three are thirteen people. They been more or less living together for at least a year and a half now (A bit less for some), so they're all pretty close - except maybe for that guy on 2B, but we'll get to that later. Even though they've got bricks, concrete, and a road separating them, it's relatively uncommon to see people going from one building to another, and some have even woken up to find guys from the other building passed out on their couch.
These are people with different backgrounds, different quirks, and likes, and ideas, and with personalities so different, it's a wonder just how they make it work. But they do, and it's anything but simple.

Apartment 1A, home to the most sufficiently stocked refrigerator and the two best cooks on the entire block. Usually the go-to place when someone's feeling down because it's warm, there's real food, and the couch is always open to anyone. Also known as the friendliest apartment in both buildings.

Apartment 1B, is not as welcoming, unlike the apartment downstairs, and so are its occupants. They're fierce, and make quite a formidable pair, so arguments against these two are pretty much hopeless. The apartment's strictly "No Men Allowed", although the girls do turn up at the guys' apartments quite often.

No one really knows how this came to be, but it probably has something to do with the fact that they've got the comfiest couches anywhere, a gargantuan flat screen TV perfect for movie nights, and a fridge that's always stocked with booze.

No one knows why he's there, and most generally think he's weird. And maybe kinda creepy. But [Ben Barnes] adores him, and he gets along surprisingly well with Jay Walsh, who everyone's secretly afraid of.

She sighed as Leelo went on about her wounds, sitting up all the way and pulling the blanket around her body. She listened to him as though she were a child being scolded. She mumbled a silent and solemn apology, glancing down. A single tear streaked down her cheek as he ran off to go get the ice cream, but she was quick to wipe it away. Everything was fine and everything was going to be fine. Its not like she was seriously injured. She wasn't the one that had gotten her nose broken. She did, however, turn her frown upside down when Leelo came back with the ice cream, popping the movie into the DVD player.
She giggled as he mentioned a birthday surprise, her eyes lighting up immediately as she sat her bowl down on the end table. “Oh! What is it?” Her smile was bright as she leaned over, though before she could shake him as she intended to, her roommate walked in and gave what she perceived as a knowing smile that made her face get red all over again as she somewhat “scooched” away from Leelo – She didn't recoil. She just...casually moved away just a little. There was an awkward silence except for the movie and the sound of Juno's tail thumping until Keira came back through. Moto mewled and weaved his chubby little self through Keira's legs, rubbing up against her.
The Bayou Belle sighed at the question, though she gave a smile. “Don't worry about me, mon cher. Just a misunderstanding. I got home safe an' sound. An' I got Leelo here takin' care of me. We're gonna watch some sappy movies an' then Luz is takin' me out for dinner an' at some point, I'm goin' to da zoo an' then I'ma get three more Sugar Gliders 'cuz Mornin' Glory seems just so lonely. But don't you worry about me because I got ice cream an' sappy movies and good friends an' its mah birthday. Just a few bumps and bruises.” She would have wrung her hands with nervousness, but her wrist was sprained and now that she was slowly recovering from the concussion, she went back to her usual bubble-headed, cherry-faced, chatterbox self around Leelo.

Walt couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when Luz compared getting over someone to rehab, but smiled as she confessed to not being totally over Danny. "Well I'm glad to be the person you came to confess too, would the next step be something along the lines of finding someone else?" He asked, smirking slightly, though he had to admit, he was a little bothered at the thought of Luz dating someone else, but quickly just shook it off as being too protective. "As long as it's not another guy like Danny, I'd be fine with it." But for some reason his voice seemed a little bitter. "But you know I'll be here for you in your 'healing process'." He smiled, making little quotations in the air at healing process.
Now it was Walt's turn to be nervous, he scratched the back of his head, laughing slightly, "Well I was thinking about going for an hour, maybe. Then heading back to... well study." he wasn't sure about telling Luz how he often wanted to spend all his free time just perfecting himself, seeing as most people though he was weird for doing so. "And I'm not even sure if it would be that fun for me, I'm still not at legal drinking age." he laughed nervously, it was really only at the times were it was brought up that Walter remembered that Luz was indeed older than him, even if he did see her as his equal rather than his superior.
Danny's suspicious glare turned into a fit of laughter, smiling as he patted Jack's back, "That's the spirit! Who need's that pesky L-word, women are just manipulative, only want us for our money, right Jack?" He smiled, if only to hide his true feeling about love, he wanted it, but was really far too paranoid about girls just wanting his money. "And you're totally chicken." he said, grinning, really just pushing buttons at this point. "But don't worry about it, you can tell all the girl's you want about how you're the Manly Man King, as long as you get results." he said, smirking, "And you know, if you're not going to go after Kiera I might as well give it a shot right?" He said, pulling his phone out, "I mean, someone might as well go for it." He said, of course bluffing but then again Danny had a great poker face.

“That's what the word surprise is employed for, suspense!” Leelo giggled and took another bite of his ice cream.
Then Keira just came into the apartment. It was both Keira and Evangeline's apartment but Leonard couldn't help but want to say, “Don't just barge in like that!” He kept his spoon in his mouth, leaving it to freeze his tongue before the heat of his mouth counter attacked the cold. He felt Eva barely place herself a little less close to Leelo. He couldn't help but smile a corner of his mouth. He knew that she was embarrassed when he face went red. Then again, he was too. He just had his spoon in his mouth as an excuse to not have to explain anything. His heart was a bit in a rush until Keira went into her room.
He didn't like the feeling that he had been caught. . . “caught”? Caught doing what? He was just sitting next to Evangeline, his very good friend and colleague. There was nothing to be caught doing. But why was Leelo feeling like he was on a top secret mission that just got found out?
He continued eating his ice cream quietly as Evangeline answered Keira's question. She was obviously lying about the “just a few bumps and bruises”. Leonard felt a slight and brief shot of pain in his heart when she said that she was watching sappy movies with a “friend”. He put his ice cream bowl down and turned to Keira.
“Obviously Eva got hurt but she doesn't want to make a big deal so we're going to watch The Breakfast Club and eat some delicious ice cream!” He smiled at Keira then winked at her and gave her a hint about the birthday party, “So how's the Mighty Bean, is everything in place?”
"Well I'm glad to be the person you came to confess too, would the next step be something along the lines of finding someone else?"
Luz snorted and hopped up so that she could sit on the edge of the counter. She considered his words, swinging her legs idly. "What's the point in looking?" she sighed. "I wish this better guy would just come find me. I'm tired of doing all of the work."
He smiled at her. "But you know I'll be here for you in your 'healing process'," he said, making air quotes. Luz rolled her eyes.
"You make it sound like I have cancer," she answered. "I had a bad one night stand. It'll work itself out," she said. She hesitated a moment and mumbled, "But thank you."
She grinned while he tried and worm his way out of the party. How had she known he would need encouragement? She reached over to ruffle his hair just as he had smoothed it down. "You've got to live while you're young, querido. Study tomorrow!" She tapped her lips thoughtfully. "I always forget how young you are, though," she murmured, pinching his cheek gently and laughing. "Don't worry about it. I was planning to stay sober tonight anyway so that I can tell Eva each and everything she does while she's drunk. You and I can drunk-people-watch. It is an American past-time."
She hopped down off of the counter and threw her arms around his shoulders bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Please, Walt? Please, please? The pretty please with honey on top?" She stopped again, her brow scrunching. "Wait, that's not how you say it..."
"That's the spirit!" Danny boomed with a laugh. "Who need's that pesky L-word, women are just manipulative, only want us for our money, right Jack?" Jack just shook his head. For someone with so much of it, Danny was always worried people were trying to get his money from him. It worried Jack a bit, but as someone with a few secrets of his own, he was more willing to wait for Danny to bring it up in his own time.
"Maybe they want you for your money," Jack answered, stretching languidly. "They only want me for my body."
He zoned out a bit as Danny continued taunting him, wondering how he could get him out of his room so he could study in secret, but he snapped out of it when he heard Keira's name.
"--if you're not going to go after Kiera I might as well give it a shot right?" He said, pulling his phone out, "I mean, someone might as well go for it." Jack saw red. His hand shot out to catch Danny by the wrist. His phone clattered to the ground.
"Don't," he said darkly. "That's not funny." There was an awkward pause and Jack let go of Danny's hand, bending over to grab his phone for him. "Sorry," he said tersely, "but... just don't, okay? It's bad enough that you screwed around with Luz..."

She hopped down off of the counter and threw her arms around his shoulders bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Please, Walt? Please, please? The pretty please with honey on top?" She stopped again, her brow scrunching. "Wait, that's not how you say it..."
"That's the spirit!" Danny boomed with a laugh. "Who need's that pesky L-word, women are just manipulative, only want us for our money, right Jack?" Jack just shook his head. For someone with so much of it, Danny was always worried people were trying to get his money from him. It worried Jack a bit, but as someone with a few secrets of his own, he was more willing to wait for Danny to bring it up in his own time.
"Maybe they want you for your money," Jack answered, stretching languidly. "They only want me for my body."
He zoned out a bit as Danny continued taunting him, wondering how he could get him out of his room so he could study in secret, but he snapped out of it when he heard Keira's name.
"--if you're not going to go after Kiera I might as well give it a shot right?" He said, pulling his phone out, "I mean, someone might as well go for it." Jack saw red. His hand shot out to catch Danny by the wrist. His phone clattered to the ground.
"Don't," he said darkly. "That's not funny." There was an awkward pause and Jack let go of Danny's hand, bending over to grab his phone for him. "Sorry," he said tersely, "but... just don't, okay? It's bad enough that you screwed around with Luz..."
Walter smiled a little as Luz explained that the situation would work itself out, and he could have sworn that he heard her say thank you. "Well it's not a problem at all."
He smoothed his hair back down again as Luz messed it up, for some reason a light blush crossing his face. "Yeah, yeah, all that stuff about living while you got the chance to or whatever, if I've heard it once I've heard it a thousand times before." Walt shook his head, smiling slightly. "But you know drunk-people-watching seems like a hell of a lot of fun." he muttered, looking to Luz sitting at the counter, "I'm just not quite sure..." He mumbled, looking to Luz sitting on the counter until she hopped off, throwing her arms around him, practically begging him to go to the party, Walt chuckled, an amused grin playing on his lips, "Alright, alright! I'll go, if only so I can 'live', as you so put it." He shook his head, laughing a little, "And it's a cherry on top. Like 'Pretty please with a cherry on top', you know?" He smiled down to Luz, both hands instinctively resting on her waist, "But I guess honey could work too."
Danny looked a little surprised as he looked from the arm that Jack was grabbing to the phone on the ground, back up to Jack, raising an eyebrow. He rubbed his wrists slightly as they were let go, still a little shocked that his friend responded in such a way. "You know, for someone who claims asking her out would be a waste of your time, you sure are pretty damned protective." He said, taking his phone from his friend and shoving it back into his pocket. Danny punched Jack in the shoulder as he brought up Luz, "New rule, no dropping names of the girls I've slept with. Luz is just a friend, she knows that we're friends. Nothing's changed." He said, trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince Jack. Danny sighed, "Okay so we both got shit to deal with. But you know I was kidding right? I would never do that to you dude. Bro Code and all." he said sincerely, patting Jack's back. "But really, I don't see why you don't just go for it, you know what I mean? I mean, what do you have to lose right?" He questioned, genuinely curious.

Juliette Sutherland
||Apartment 4D||
Juliette sighed and dropped her bags on the ground by her feet with a heavy thump, and began to rummage through her pockets in search of keys. She had enjoyed the stay with her parents immensely, and had achieved a healthy looking tan. Juliette had passed the better part of a week shopping with her mother, and had the spoils of that in the bags that were now around her feet. They had had fun. Spending afternoons in cute cafes, catching up over a coffee. She had spent a lot of time with her dad too, reading while laughing as he fished. It had been lovely seeing them again, and the weather had remained gorgeously warm.
Juliette found her keys deep in her pocket, and sighed with a relief. She wasn't in the best mood. Her plane had got in four hours late, and she had almost been unable to pay for the cab home. She had dropped all of her bags down one flight of stairs, and had had to go back down and carry them all up, hoping to God that nothing had broken. And, she had a shoot booked in for the following day, and if she didn't get into bed on time tonight, she would look awful on camera.
Putting the key in the lock, she stumbled home, and dragged her bags in after her. Thank God. It was empty, and the sounds echoed slightly. Juliette had almost been hoping someone would be home to welcome her, but it was probably just as well that there wasn't. Lugging her bags of new clothes to her room, she left them by the door, and then returned to her suitcase. Dragging that over to the sofa, she sank into the cushions with a deep, heartfelt sigh. It felt good to sit down, in the comfort of her own home.
She thought of having a nap, but forced herself back. Opening the case, she drew out a few small bags full of gifts for her friends. Even at home, she had made sure not to forget them. Juliette smiled tiredly, and placed them carefully on the coffee table before taking her suitcase into her bedroom. She fancied a coffee. Maybe she could catch up with whoever was in The Mighty Bean. But she would need to freshen up first. Turning on the shower, Juliette got ready to go out again.

|| On The Couch With Leonard ||
“Y'all stop worryin'. I jus' need some ice cream and rest. Like I said, I got my Leelo takin' care of me, so everything is gonna be just fine. Y'all know the healin' powers of The Breakfast Club.” She kept her tone light and cheery, adding at the end a cheesy yet often-found adorable joke at the end, polishing off her entire act with a bright white smile, a twinkle on the surface of her blue eyes. Keira gave a lift of her brow at my Leelo, simply smiling and giving a shrug of defeat. “Alright, I'll leave you with your Leelo, then.” She winked as her roommate went a brighter shade of red. Aw, they were so cute together. She glanced to Leelo and gave him a thumbs up and a wink, trying not to enjoy Cajun's frustrated expression too much before leaving, closing the door silently behind her.
Evangeline turned some, facing Leelo once more. “Ain’t y'all ever heard that friends don't tell secrets and secrets don't keep friends?” She gave him a playful smack on the arm before doing her best to mess up his hair. Content with the damage done, she stuck her tongue out playfully before turning her attention back to the television. She picked up her bowl and shoveled the Sunday flavored ice cream into her mouth with a wistful sigh.
“I swear, there ain't no good, ol' fashion romantic guys left in this world. Hollywood has some nerve. Gettin' up the hopes of girls like me an' then leavin' 'em to get crushed when we realize that you might end up havin' to settle instead of gettin' your dream guy.” She was practically pouting as she ate her ice cream, though with a quick glance at Leelo, she laughed bashfully. “Don't pay any mind to my ramblin'.”
She gave a light yawn, a wave of exhaustion washing over her. She finished up her ice cream with a few more shovels and set her bowl down before setting her bowl back down and pulling her blanket around her. She gave another yawn and lay down, resting her head in Leelo's lap, curling up some. “Thanks for comin' over, Leelo.” She smiled up at him with that small cute smile that she saved for him whenever she could actually manage to.
Keira had made her way back to Jack's, gently pushing the door open and popping her head in slowly. “Danny! What the hell happened to Evan?”, she called out into their apartment, frowning some. “Why didn't you call any of us while you were at the hospital?
|| On The Couch With Evangeline ||
Leonard almost coughed up his ice cream when Eva said “my Leelo” and he became bright red when Keira said, “Alright I'll leave you will your Leelo”. He turned his face away from both girls and tried to calm his heart. He put his ice cream bowl on his face trying to be discrete about it. He couldn't have Evangeline see him like this, it was too embarrassing. He was already ridiculous as it was, he couldn't be more. Or could he? Keira's thumbs up to him just about topped it off.
Evangeline turned toward him and he tried to face her for a second but her smile just made his turn right back around. He didn't want to seem impolite but he just couldn't look at her right then. She ruffled his hair which oddly made him more comfortable. He loved it when she ruffled his hair because he could do it right back which he immediately did.
“Alright, let's watch this movie!” Leelo got comfortable and suck his tongue right back at her then stuck another spoon of ice cream in his mouth, he left it in there was he pressed on the play button.
Hearing Evangeline ramble about romantic guys, there not being enough, he felt a little hurt. He was trying his best but he knew that since they weren't officially together she couldn't possibly consider him being romantic. She probably only saw it as a friendly gesture. Leelo finished his bowl and took Eva's once she had finished hers.
When she put her head on his lap he ran his fingers through her hair and twirled her blond locks between his fingers. He loved her hair, he loved her smell. He loved Evangeline. Her peaceful smile she gave him just crushed his heart. He couldn't bear sitting there being her friend when he was have a cardiac arrest around her.
“I'm always here for you,” he smiled then bent over and kissed her forehead.
