Personality: mature beyond his years, coming largely from policing his klutzy older sister. Ralph knows when to take charge of a situation, and when to defer to someone with more experience. He's a natural born leader, though he's modest about the whole idea that he's actually leadership material
History: Ralph had a bad feeling about this cruise. He only came because all his friends were inviting him, and Rita practically dragged him in by his shirt collar. He's very down-to-earth and realistic. He doubts anyone knows where they are anymore, and he knows it would be too risky and dangerous to try leaving the island on thier own, especially they're all upper class teens, not shipwrights. Because he's the more mature, all-around-person in the group, he's taken it upon himself to build a society of sorts to help stave off chaos. It's not that he really wanted the job - he's far too modest about his maturity, feels he's too young, and knows that it was mostly because his pretty older sister pushed him into the position
