Age: Created on March 5, 1705 (Age 308) ; given a soul on January 23, 1912 (Age 101)

Species: Golem (Blood), Simulcrum
The term 'Golem' comes from an old Hebrew legend about a creatures of the same name. In the legend, the Golem was a tool of rebellion against opressors. It was constructed from clay and inscribed with runes that would animate its form when given instructions. Golems, centuries later, can be created from a wide variety of materials as long as the correct spells and rituals are followed.
Simulcrums are a Sub-Species of Golem, otherwise known as 'Sentient Golems' or Golems capable of independent thought. Simulcrum act the same way any other sentient being will, and will choose to pursue wants and dreams over blindly following orders.
David's base component is Blood, meaning living creatures were sacrificed to create him. As a result, Blood Golems are extremely resilient to harm and are fearsome foes. They can shape shift in extreme ways, creating claws and tentacles within moments and even seperating body parts and controling them from afar. When a Blood Golem sleeps they must find a water tight container as their forms dissolve into a liquid ichor. Should they be spilled out during slumber a Blood Golem could seperate into far to many pieces and become unable to take proper form without outside assistance, leaving them vulnerable. Major weaknesses of a Blood Golem would be fire, as charred flesh cannot be easily healed, and acidic compounds.
Sexuality: Asexual
Personality: David's birth was one of madness and greed, an orgy of blood and pain of many, many innocent souls; human and not. With a soul, he carries the guilt of his creation with him and the sadness refined over a century is not easy to shake. As such David delights in being useful to those around him. One may confuse this with his nature of being a Golem, but a Golem with a Soul is no longer bound to the will of a master. Whatever makes others happy makes him happy, and that is all he longs for, whether it be by selling something sweet, telling a joke, or providing some kind of comfort to those that need it.
This, however, has a darker side to it. Those that cause pain, misery, or harm to his friends are going to have a force come upon them like demons from hell. Nothing is scarier than a man who can rip open a hole in his torso from neck to navel to reveal a giant maw beneath.
History: David was created as one of a batch of twelve, each given names begining with the first twelve letters of the alphabet and a batch designation of Paracelsus. Over decades, the Paracelsus Golems were bought, sold, handed down, stolen, lost, found, seperated, and brought together by both king and beggar, clergy and sorcerer.
David's story truly began in 1872 when a kindly sorcerer found each Golem from places all over the world and brought them together at a spacious estate in Kansas. There he and his siblings worked for the sorcerer as bee keepers and farmers. At some point the sorcerer began to notice something about the Golems, something he at first thought was his imagination. He thought he saw them smile. When he watched the Golems work, this sorcerer could swear that when the Golems were near eachother some momentary upturn of the mouth crossed their faces.
During the night, as the Golems slepted in their vats, the sorcerer would examine them with spells from an old book of Golem Craft. He found something that shocked him. The framework for a soul was present, if crude. Something was occuring; he wanted to be a part of it.
Over decades the sorcerer was able to accelerate the process and poured a little of himself into each one, slowly creating beings who were quite capable of intelligence and thought beyond the order given. It wasn't until 1912 when, on the sorcerer's death bed, the Golems gathered around him and cried that the sorcerer deemed what he had created ready and blessed each Golem a piece of his own soul. It was then when he created Simulcrums and when David and his siblings began to live.
Sentient and capable but confused as to what to do now, they continued the work they had been doing for years and, thanks to the sorcerer's work and network of friends, were given false names and control over his estate. They had money, they had livelihoods. They were truly free. The Simulcrums began to expand the business to other places around the country, creating branches in three different states, one of those branches being 'Pacific Fields, Bluffton.'
Side Note: David, as a Blood Golem, is able to change his appearance. As such he has chosen to look like a man who he revered during his early days of true life; Samuel Langhorne Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain. Characters who know what Mark Twain looks like should find the resemblance striking.
