Yes, for a sixteen-year-old girl Princess Artemis Fawn Snow I had everything she could ever want: beauty, power and popularity. She had come from a simple background; nothing but a lower-middle class girl from what had been known as the Midwest back when Aquilexandria had been The United States of America. However, after the disastrous presidency of an outrageous leader, the dream democracy of the world was forced to reclassify itself as a monarchy. And so the people needed a leader.

The legal age of being an adult was lowered to sixteen, which was traditional now in a majority of modern monarchies. Artemis was instantly nominated by people who had been fellow classmates. The young Midwestern girl was also supported by former and present teachers, family and even people who had once been government public officials. To those behind her, Artemis had the intelligence required to run a sustainable country. She also had the tough, can-do attitude that many people quickly fell in love with. It didn’t take long for the new kingdom to reach their decision, and before she could so much as blink Artemis found herself in the newly made throne of a castle.

Now, though, Artemis is faced with a new challenge. The month of February is slithering closer, its cold reptilian blood turning most of the kingdom cold. With that treacherous month comes the young maiden’s seventeenth birthday. It was common knowledge that if a female ruler was not married off by her eighteenth birthday, there would be an arranged wedding to whomever the kingdom was feuding with the most as a way of begrudgingly assuring peace. Not only that but the country of China, who were ever so mocking of the fact that Aquilexandria is run by a female, are striving for war efforts against the reborn country. Now, Artemis must prepare her country for war while simultaneously seeking the love of her life in order to avoid an unhappy arranged marriage.

This universe is based off a story I'm writing for fun. I hope you enjoy it!
