(To speed things along, I'll be skipping the whole War Gunners battle. Sorry Scythe XD)
"YES!!! YEAH!!!" Aziz was practically screaming loudly as he led the others back to the dorm down the quiet streets. They managed to win despite Fuyumi being new at the game. Nagisa and Kanade managed to carry the fight well.
Of course, he was able to nab some "well-timed" kills. The result was a shiny new golden badge on his War Gunners profile.
"Sorry for being too loud but...WOOOH!!!" Aziz continues to cheer loudly--even if it was already 11:50 PM.
"I haven't really touched alcohol prior to this night, thanks to Cel-san over here." Makoto responds to Yoite's question. "Hmm...I'm not that familiar with wine terms and tastes so I can't really describe it well."
"Well, no point pretending to be someone you're not." Cel pours herself another glass. "I don't know what you guys would make of this but, my family's rather big on social drinking. We're known for being able to hold our liquor well." Cel takes a sip of her glass before carrying on. "Of course, I'm no exception. But I'm no alcoholic. I don't drink everyday. Three times a month seems reasonable enough."
"Don't worry, we're not judging you or anything." Makoto assures Cel as he also hands his glass over to her so she could pour him a new one. Of course, Cel reduced the amount this time, knowing Makoto still has early morning classes tomorrow. She also offered Yoite some more.
"I don't think I have a particular preferred taste. I can drink whatever." Cel finally responds to Yoite's question. "Although I do prefer wine over beer or brandy. I don't know. It's the classy taste I guess. Drinking beer makes me feel cheap somehow."
Makoto noted this down. Seems like he'll have to up his budget a little if he wants to impress her. He wondered how Cel would react should he give her some fine wine as a gift.
"Wow, it's already midnight? Me and Arakaki-san should get going now I suppose." Makoto suddenly recalled.
"Yeah, I don't want Koizumi and Arai thinking I'm a bad influence on you two. Good night~" Cel bids the two good night as she turned on the TV to catch couple of programs before going to bed.
"You sure took your sweet time just cleaning up the plates." Upon Makoto's return to the room, he could see that Asagi had already changed into more comfortable casual clothes. His hair had a slight glossy sheen on it too, indicating that he had already taken a bath before Makoto arrived.
"Yeah, I kind of dropped by Cel's unit for a visit." Makoto explained as he checked the showers to see if there was any hot water left for him. "Ritsuka left us some creme de menthe in exchange for the leftover spaghetti so we kind of just well, you know. Socialized?"
"Yeah, yeah I know." Asagi chuckled. "Man, you've got some great friends huh? Hope I'll have just as many friends as you in this place."
"That's a little unfair already since you know Misaka-chan and Hotaru-san from high school. You also seem to be hitting it off well with Akeno. You've already got three right now." Makoto spoke up from the bathroom this time as he showered a little before heading to bed.
"Four if you count Cel-san. Five if we include Ritsuka." Asagi clarified.
"Ritsuka's a predator posing as a house pet. Don't trust her." Makoto teases Asagi about it a little. "Just kidding. She's a nice girl too."
"Heh~ It seems I have quite a way with the female populace." Asagi laughed now that he realized most of his first friends in the dorm were girls. "And I don't think it's because I dress like this."
"Heh, most guys would kill to become just as much of a hit with the ladies as you are." Having finished showering and dressing up, Makoto sat down on his chair and booted up his laptop. "It's definitely the clothes though."
"You should try it then. See how far it takes you~"
"I would but my leg hair would give me away." Makoto replied, going along with the joke.
"Well, you could always shave or use stockings, haha!" Asagi sat up for a moment to catch a glimpse of what his roommate's into. "Bit late to be doing schoolwork don't you think?"
"I'm not. Just checking up some announcements and shit. I'll probably be up a little while longer. You can go ahead and sleep. It's not like I play loud music or anything while I work. Unlike someone in this dorm." Makoto assures his new roommate.
"Really? Well, good night then." Asagi sinks back into bed. "Don't do anything funny to me while I'm asleep 'kay?"
"Hehe, I wouldn't do something like that. Unless I can't help myself." Makoto takes another jab at his new roommate.
"Clever guy huh? That's great~ I like clever gu..." Asagi's voice continued trailing off until he was finally whisked away to dreamland. With his roommate asleep, Makoto continued browsing a little while longer. Most of the articles were the same old boring stuff but then suddenly, one seemed to catch his fancy.
"Serial killer Strikes Again?!" Makoto immediately skimmed through the article. "14th Avenue? That's not far from school..."
Makoto stayed up a lot longer that time, looking up information on this chain of events.
"Doing your late night grocery trip? I doubt you'll find anything open at Queen's at this hour let alone at midnight." Having espied the fellow resident on her way back home, Sora approached Akeno, her voice carrying a hint of sternness and exhaustion at the same time. She glanced around the place. There were a few people still up and about. Mostly couples making the most out of the mood and straggling college students from the nearby dorms, looking for a midnight snack in what few establishments left open.
"Around 3 AM, a murder of crows come down on the streets to feed. I can hear their caws echoing during my late night shifts at the restaurant. Do you like crows, Furuya-san?" Sora made small talk to break the ice a little. "I don't. They're too loud at the best of times and leave a lot of refuse once they leave. If you wander in this spot come 5 or 6 AM, you'll see what I mean. Place starts smelling like death all around. Ironic isn't it? Given that Queen's is supposedly the poshest place in this city."
Glancing at her watch, Sora can see that it was late. Very late. If people saw them outside at this hour, they may start getting the wrong impression.
"It's late. I suggest you come with me. Ishida-san won't probably let you in without an oral reprimand and a warning since it's past curfew but if you're with me then you should be excused from the trouble. Come on. We'll take a cab on our way back. Won't be any buses coming along this time."
