Full Name: Elias Alexander Novario.
Nicknames: El.
Age: Sixteen years old.
Birthdate:13th of October.
Hometown: Santiago de Cali, Colombia is Eliasās home town, but the Novario family moved to Boulder City, Nevada when he was about ten years old.
Sexuality: Pansexual, genuinely gender blind.
School:Noctrem Academy all the way.
Power: Wall-crawling. Despite what people think, Elias isnāt defying gravity when he crawls, walks or runs on the walls (or ceiling). He doesnāt have super strong claws that allow him to dig into the surface. Elias is able to maintain balance for long periods of time, and makes use of varying sized handholds found on the surface. Not only that, but he also has microscopic satae on his hands and feet that allow him to do so. However his ability has limitations. If he isnāt concentrating, he canāt stay on the surface (at times it is instinctive). Also, some shoes or any gloves keep him from using his ability.
Likes: Heās always loved to gaze at the stars, be it by using the telescope he has in his room, or just looking up at the night sky as he lays in the courtyard. Elias finds it peaceful and enchanting, like heās away from all of his troubles. Also, he enjoys the sweet taste of chocolate or any other sweet. Elias has enjoyed a lot of horror or thriller films, and watching them always gets him in a better mood. Another thing that he couldnāt help but enjoy were the winter months. He liked being able to see his breath in front of him as he walked outside. Besides those things, Elias finds happiness in reading a good book (heās even tried to write before, but heās better at sketching). There is a guilty pleasure he holds dear as well.. When heās listening to music itās not the alternative or punk rock that he tells people it is. Heās often listening to classical music or jazz. Another thing that brings him joy is the sweet taste of the Gabba Gabba Hey sundae (or the Guinness Gingerbread ice cream) from the best ice cream shop on the planet: Humphry Slocombe. And what could bring him joy but the wonders of sarcasm? But if there was one thing on the earth that Elias loved, it was his pet ball python Hannibal, named after the character Hannibal Lecter from āRed Dragonā or āManhunterā.
Dislikes: If there was anything that Elias didnāt like, it was being told that he couldnāt do something or that he didnāt understand something because of his age. Thereās that, and goody goody boys and girls that go to Arcana. Honestly, he didnāt believe that all of them were that bad but there were just certain ones that he wanted to send to the Bates Motel if you get what he means. Another thing he couldnāt stand were pushers. People who wanted to throw their beliefs and likes on everyone. Like his Aunt, sheād always tried to get him into eating meat when heād explained to her countless times that he was a vegetarian (next step: vegan). Heād never try and push his lovely pet on anyone who didnāt like snakes, like Marnie OāRiley. It wasnāt anything he could do about it, if you donāt like so-and-so, you donāt like it. Point blank. As was clearly put, Elias is a vegetarian. Of course, he used to enjoy the pleasures of a nice juicy quarter pounder. Then he watched a video and now he seriously dislikes meat. Almost as much as he didnāt like people that couldnāt stop talking unless their life depended on it. And if anything really set him off, it was those people that were extremely nosy. If people wanted you to know their business, Gossip, theyād tell you.
Fears: Haemophobia. Elias feared bleeding out, or just bleeding. It wasnāt that he was afraid of getting hurt, he was fine with pain to an extent. In those thriller movies he watched, he was fine. But if he saw, or even smelled the iron-ish scent of blood he got nauseous and his heart starts pounding in his chest. His father told him when he was younger that his mother had the same phobia, but like his, it wasnāt extremely serious. His mother had bled out when El was born.
Personality: Ever since he was a brat he'd believe the best of people, and was always very sensitive to other people's feelings. However, his firm desire to see the best in people caused him to be slightly naive. Now that he's sixteen, he's beginning to see the world and many of the people residing in it as they are. Cruel. Unforgiving and fierce. Unfair. Heās not extremely outspoken, but heās not the quiet type either. Heās sort of blunt, saying what he feels and most times that gets him in trouble but others respect him for his honesty. But he knows when not to say something too honest, like when faced with one of the more.. easy to set-off people at Noctrem.
He relished in the excitement and drama at the school, watching every fight and noticing nearly every detail. While he may be observant, he was oblivious in some points. He doesnāt always see the worst in things, so heās not a pessimist but heās definitely not an optimist. Elias didnāt care how much better life was when you looked forward to the good in things. He was a realist, viewing things as they really were.
Elias hates to know he can do little to nothing about something, about as much as he hates being told he couldnāt. That didnāt mean he wouldnāt try. He was a trier. And his success rate with things was about 50/50. 60/40? When heās stressed, he tries not to dwell on the thoughts of his problems. To combat those thoughts, he usually finds himself meditating or painting or sketching something. And he may be bad, but he doesnāt see himself as evil exactly.
History: how you decided whether to be good or bad, and then how you came to the school. So, three good sized paragraphs, I think?
There were low statistics for women who die during or after childbirth, but that doesnāt mean it doesnāt happen. Emily Novario hadnāt lived a long life. When he and his father still lived in Colombia, all he had to remember his mother was her bedroom. Eliasā father didnāt disturb anything in that room since he returned home with baby Elias. When he was feeling weak or upset as he grew up, Elias would walk into her room and open all the drawers, lying on the left side of the bed. His mother always slept on the left side. He felt close to her that way. Heād sit in there and just breathe. The one time he fell asleep in there, his father got angry that he was in there. He never said anything, but in the way heād told Elias to get out you could tell he was angry.
Elias went from an impressionable six year old to a nine year old that practically knew everything like the back of his hand. It was at this age that he realized his ability. He could remember the exact date: October 8th. Elias was sitting in his classroom, surrounded by his little friends. It was Ranaās birthday, and candy lined the floor after sheād been able to hit the pinata. At the moment, they were all passing around balloons, some trying to blow them up and others tying theirs onto a string. Ranaās had a short string. Admittedly, Elias had a bit of a crush on her. So when her balloon flew up and hit the high ceiling of the room. He was the first to jump up. Elias pushed his sleeves up and pressed his hand against the wall, glancing up at the balloon and he began to climb. All the children gawked, and the teacher couldnāt speak. āIāve got it, I got it!ā Heād had to move along the ceiling a bit but finally managed to take hold of the string. Almost instantly, he fell, dropping down onto the floor with a slight grunt. With a smile, heād walked over to Rana and handed her the balloon. The next day, his father kept him at home and sat him down. He had him demonstrate what heād done in the classroom, and then he sat in awe, rushing over and instantly pulling him off of the wall. āStay here,ā He said. Elias sat down in the kitchen as his father pushed buttons on the phone. He talked for about fifteen minutes before hanging up. āWeāre going away for a while.ā They never went back to Colombia. They went to stay with his fatherās sister in Nevada.
His father died not long after they got there. Drunk driver. Did his mother deserve to die? Did his father? No. So why do other people deserve to live? It angered him to think that his fatherās killer could go free after only four years in jail. The anger changed him. He wanted to find out how to get back at the man for what he did. If he was able to find out the guyās address and more things about him then he could finally get his revenge. Revenge never worked for the good. And by no chance was he a goody two shoes. Heād stolen a copy of test answers for school, was able to rob a convenience store that one time heād craved a U-No bar.
It was one day when he was going through things in the attic when he found out about Noctrem Academy. Apparently someone in the academy went there back in the day. It sounded like the place for him. His aunt couldnāt really take care of him, so why not go to the academy? Heād be better off. Besides, from what he read, he could hone in on his powers. Become more powerful. So he went. Met a few people, made a few non-enemies. Had those teenage moments where he felt like he didnāt belong. Then a tragedy struck. Well, something bad happened and then a tragedy struck. Someone burnt down the school, the place heād made his home. And then the tragedy: they have to stay with the goody people over at Arcana. Were the fates just that angry with him?
Anything else?: The thing about quirks or tics is that while other people notice, you almost never do. When Elias is trying to focus on something, his nose wrinkles. Sometimes when he's nervous, he begins to ramble a bit or even blinks a bit faster than normal. Something that bothers him is when people use incorrect grammar/spelling/punctuation. He mentally corrects them and if it gets bad enough his fingers begin to twitch.
