Weight: 127lbs
Eye Color: Blue-silver
Hair Color: Silver-gray
Gender: Female

Age: 16

Student File

Alignment: Magus
Rank: Cadet
Class: E
Year: Freshman

Physical Description
Elphida sports a good athletic and lean build despite being a Magus due to years of fencing practice. Most of her height comes from her length legs.
Elphida wears her clothes well, dressing up modestly due to her maidenly nature. In fact, she even wears bicycle leggings under her skirt due to that. She is hardly seen without crossing her arms across her chest to keep people away from her. Elphida is quite fond of her knee high boots and seems to wear them with any type of clothing.
She has a small bag with a flip cover that stores Ace for quick retrieval. She does like dressing up despite her constant denials, pretty stylishly too. But during weekends in school if she isnā€™t up and about in the city, she always wears a sweater and a pair of shorts.
So far, her aura is rather faint and no one is able to tell what colour it is.

Abilities

Alignment Ability: Sight-Capture: Sight Capture allows the containment of the enemy's spell. What this means is that the spell that has been cast can be captured and stored into any type of enchanted containment, allowing it to be reused if required, with its strength, power, consistency and magic spin still intact and not changed. To do this though, the user must be able to pinpoint the spell directly into the middle of the containment and apply equal or more mana to seal it.

As with most things, capturing weaker spells is easier, but with stronger spells, Sight Capture will begin to rely more on the mana pool as well as the skill of the user. Users with immensely large mana pools can arrogantly overpower and capture a stronger spell by just applying more mana than needed, but with a limited mana pool, users of Sight Capture do not try to capture stronger spells, unless they can judge just how much mana they require and how much they lack. If the user does not have enough mana to capture a specific spell, one can still skilfully capture the spell but only JUST.

The captured spells can be used without having to use up the user's mana. All the user has to do is release the spells from containment. This serves as a very good back up in case one has a very, very limited mana pool, allowing for more option during combat.

First Ability: Sleight of Hand ā€“ Well practiced in her Art of Ace, she can create cards at the speed of light and activate them within a blink of an eye. As a Sleight of Hand, she has the ability to release AND recapture her spells to create an illusion or distraction for the real danger ahead of her enemies. Literally a true sleight of hand.
Second Ability:
Third Ability:
Specialization: Ancestryā€™s Hope ā€“ As a descendant of the Dynami ancestry, Elphida is powerful in her own ways, and can wield both original weapons of the founders of the Dynami family. The current weapon that Elphida has is Remlin Dynamiā€™s Enchanted Crystal Card, Ace.
There are rumours that the other weaponā€™s description goes something like this is - a ā€˜powerful demon that lashes out with both brute strength and eleganceā€™. Wonder what that means.

Equipment
Enchanted Crystal Card, Ace ā€“ The Lineage of the Ace has only one member and that is the founder of the Dynami family, Relmin Dynami. It is finally passed down onto Elphida.

With her Crystal Card, Ace, in hand, she can create a line of crystal cards just from the original card alone, each unique in its own way. Ace can be said to be the Origin, as all cards that are created from it can be stored in it until the time for it to be used again. In simple terms, every single captured spell is stored in Ace and is always ready for combat.

Standard Issue Sword of Archon Academy ā€“ Just a standard issue unenchanted ordinary sword by the academyā€¦ but what if it lands in the right hands?

History
Elphida was born as a rather ordinary child to the Dynami family. However, it would turn out that her parents were wrong. Ephida wasnā€™t just ordinary, she wasnā€™t extraordinary either. She didnā€™t exude the same characteristics the other children did. She didnā€™t develop her magic, there was literally no aura around her at all. This frightened her parents, who thought that they had given birth to a freak, but Elphida was normal as all children were, just without magic.

With no magical capabilities, Elphida became interested in swords instead, as well as any other type of weaponry that did not require magic to be used. Her father a Guardian, though that Elphida might be a Guardian, and so taught her to fight with swords instead. But it would seem that he was wrong, as Elphida was far too weak to be a Guardian, and her aura never manifested at all. Not many humans wanted to involve themselves with the weird child and so she stayed inside her house all the time, playing card games and only going out when it was time to practice with swords.

It wasnā€™t until Elphida just reached her teenage years did her grandparents finally understood what was going on. Elphida was just like her ancestors. The founders of the Dynami family to be exact, Remlin Dynami and his wife, Astraea Nikral, who then took the name Dynami after marrying her husband. In family archives, Astraea was said to have an immense manapool and a blazing aura despite being a Guardian, a warrior known to have crushed through multiple enemies with her pure brute strength. Remlin Dynami on the other hand, had developed his potential far later in life and even then, his magic capabilities were weaker than most Magus.

What is interesting is that both of their names became well known, Astraea became known to be the ā€˜Goddess of Justiceā€™ and Remlin became a very powerful Card user, becoming known as the ā€˜Father of Spellsā€™ with his highly skilful abilities in capturing any spell thrown at him. Their bloodline eventually thinned out and no one in the Dynami family was able to match their ancestorsā€™ featsā€¦that is until Elphida was born.

Elphida suffered a lot as a ā€˜magic-lessā€™ child, always openly made fun of. She became afraid of being in contact with people, and it caused her confidence to shatter. She became rather timid and frightened of the notion of fighting. She developed an inferior complex, always believing that she would never amount to anything incredible unlike her ancestors. She also felt like she was tarnishing the Dynami family name, even running away several times out of sheer pressure, only for her family to bring her back.

Hoping that his parentā€™s theory was right, Elphidaā€™s father changed her name, adding the initials of both founders into her name and brought her to see them. Elphidaā€™s grandparents bestowed her a small old box, which held Remlinā€™s Crystal Card, Ace. As if reacting to its new chosen owner, as soon as Elphida touched it, both object and human glowed. After the bright light dimmed, they saw a very faint outline of an aura around Elphida. Although they couldnā€™t exactly see what colour it was, it brought some hope to their hearts, knowing that Elphida wasnā€™t truly lacking magic.

Elphida, the descendant that would hold both souls of their founders and their names. It was a huge burden to her, and with her inferiority, she is afraid that she may fail. Elphida, the young girl who had grown rather accustomed to swords instead of magicā€¦ Without warning her, her parents enrolled her in Archon Academy. Elphida, afraid of being picked on again, decided to pick up a cold, aloof persona to avoid conversation and interaction with people, despite her warm, welcoming heart.

Other
Elphida seems to have a small personality split. When she is wielding a sword, she becomes fairly more confident with herself and displays a stronger persona. This may change in the future.

Elphida openly speaks of her dream to build an orphanage when she graduates.

So begins...

Elphida RA. Dynami

Hardly anyone noticed the silver haired teen when she descended the steps to attend the ceremony. Hardly anyone paid any attention to her as well. Almost as if she was invisible.

That was because this girl seemed to lack a visible aura that were otherwise the identification needed by humans. Even without looking, any aura could be felt by any pro efficient Magus and locate the person. But it seemed that Elphida's almost non-existant aura was unable to be detected by most of the greenhorn students, and even the higher ranking ones. It worked well for her though, since she really didn't enjoy being stared at with mocking eyes.

Yes. She wasn't a Guardian, wasn't a Magus, she was just nothing. She had no strength, no magical power either. People just couldn't leave her alone without drilling that into her mind.

Elphida had her arms crossed and was tapping her finger as she waited in line with her squad.

'First Platoon under Leader Daniel Williams, Squad Two, Class E, Rank Cadet, Squad Leader Rey Vandelion.' she repeated over in her head, after memorizing it in her head the past few days when she was alone in her room. Which reminded her... when was her roommate arriving?

She took a glance at the members of her squad, a white haired male with what seemed to be a gauntlet in his hand and two black haired males, one looking rather wirey and unkept, the other was just as slim and had a sword by his belt. Although both of them seemed weak, but Elphida would bet her virginity that they were far more capable than she was. That was an easy victory, seeing as how Elphida could hardly do anything with magic.

Inspection was carried out by a seemingly happy-go-lucky man...who was in fact their General, Daniel Williams. She watched him go around inspecting each student from the squad, a few smiles here and there and a short moment with a Lieutenant ranked student, speaking as if they'd known each other for years.

As expected, the General walked right past her without giving her a second glance. Her presence was totally diminished by the fact that her aura was non-existant. She sighed and tapped her fingers again, glancing down at herself to make sure she seemed presentable despite not being examined.

Elphida had chosen to wear the uniform with a slight adjustment to the pants. While most other students tucked their pants into the inside of their boots, Elphida decided to loosen the edges of the pants, making them fall straight down as if like a smaller hakama. This allowed her to wear her knee-high boots without feeling uncomfortable.

'Just a minor modification. It feels tight and restrictive.' she went through her lines if she was ever questioned about it, though is was partly the truth. She ran a hand through the sheathe of the Archon Academy standard issued sword, hopefully that would prove enough...unless they made her fight.

After waiting, finally the Headmaster arrived. Listening intently to the Headmaster was one thing to Elphida, but hearing those last lines shocked her to the very core.

'No...No way.'

ā€œI regret to inform you all that our beloved Emperor Augustus VI has passed away as of 0617 this morning of apparent heart failureā€¦ā€

Suna

she had fallen asleep during the generals speech as she already knew what he was going to say.she still slept while the vertilift landed nearby and the headmaster walked up to the podium, only when he mentioned the death of their current emporeor did her eyes snap open. Suna wasnt bothered by it all all, hell she never even cared for the old man, her expression never changing. some of the cadets noticed this and whispered about it behind her back but she ignored it {'let them think what they want, is that why mother left'}thinking back to earlier.

Suna scanned the crowd before and behind her, watching everyones reaction to this "sad and shocking" news. looking back at the headmaster she already had a guess of what he would say next; the Rite of the Challenge to Succession. personaly Suna didnt approve of this being as she honestly didnt care for it, all it meant was that she was going to be forced into fighting opponets for something she didnt care enough to want nor didn she care for the cadets who were weak compared to her yet they always tried to fight her thinking they could beat a seeminly weak girl, Suna never understood this. to her those kind of battles were pointless, and she will only acknowledge the truly strong opponents who would actually put up a fight.

but unlike the others she wasnt the kind of person to initiate a fight only going for those who were left was more her style. Suna was so deep in thought she didnt realize that it was time to salute the headmaster and she missed her cue {'not that it matters, to hell with them all,let them think what they want'} a low growl escaped her lips as she waited for further orders.

The uproar was instantaneous but General Desmond stepped forward, a seal forming in front of his mouth, enhancing his voice as he told the students to stand attention. It seemed that the bad news wasn't over...

ā€œI am amiss to say that this is not the only ill news I bringā€¦ Immediately following His Majestyā€™s death Imperial Marshal Octavian was to rise to the throne, however at the time she was serving courageously as is her duty on the western frontā€¦ where sh-she fell.ā€ there was an air of shock hanging in the crowd. ā€œthe Nobleā€™s Council has just concluded an emergency meetingā€¦ and as this situation is of gravest importance has declared a state of emergency for the Empire, placing all power into the hands of Parliament for a time of seventy two days.ā€ The murmuring returned although much more lightly now. Given a moment to breathe the man continued.

ā€œNo doubt many of you are wondering why I am telling you all this, as most of you would have found out immediately following the ceremony otherwise. Allow me to explain, as due to the istuation the standard lines of succession have been broken, which will directly affect each and every one of you.ā€ Oh no...They were kidding, aren't they? This isn't true...it couldn't be. ā€œThe Nobleā€™s Council has deliberated and after consulting myself and other heads of education the Empire over have decided to enact the Rite of the Challenge of Succession, to begin,ā€ he looked back to Desmond, why Caspian was unsure however still he waited for the General to nod before continuing, ā€œTo being immediately.ā€ Voices rose again but the Headmaster spoke over them this time, just barely heard, ā€œAs such, the typical ceremonial opening of the school shall be forgone. All cadets are here by ordered to report to their respective commanders and begin their training. Andā€¦ Quiet! Quiet please!ā€

The other generals stood, reacting with almost instant realization at what the Headmaster had in mind, they didnā€™t look happy, ā€œAlso, as a special edict to the standard laws of Archon Academy and in accordance with the Rite of Succession the following rules will be amended. 1. All freshmen will be permitted to issue personal and squad challenges, as opposed to the standard wait of half a semester. 2. Merit standings hold however as of today all merits and demerits will begin being counted toward the Rite instead of being calculated internally. 3. All students must participate in the Rite.ā€ He raised his arms and those sitting behind him stood, ā€œAs of this moment I declare this term at Archon Academy to be open. Commanders, please take charge of your units and may the greatest of you succeed. May glory forever shine on our Empire!ā€

They... had to participate no matter what? And people could challenge each other to fights?

Elphida was as good as dead in such an environment, to which she was thinking would be lenient until the Rite of Challenge of Succession came into play. Despite her dread, she crawled her hand to her chest and made a fist.

"May Glory forever shine on our Empire!" she chanted along with the others.

No doubt...the first day would be chaos after this.

Rallen scanned the crowd looking for reactions to the news of the rite of succession. This wasnā€™t good and he knew this. Things were going to get bad and fast. He turned to his own left hand his eyes peering over the gantlet in its place. ā€œWhat am I to do?ā€ he thought to himself his eyes locked on the gauntlet. Someone in this room was to be the next rule and many he assumed wanted it for selfish reasons our pure. So what was he to? Simply wait it out and protect himself? Or maybe he should try to actually win? At the very least that way he wouldnā€™t have to worry about any other power hungry cur taking over. But thatā€™s not what he wanted to be.

All these ideas flashed throw his head as he contemplated on what he should do. Then he had a thought and a light smile crossed his face. Sit back and uncover what it was everyone was after. Then from what he knew take out the power hungry ones and allow some one worthy take the crown someone with some damn sense as to stop this event from happening again. People where going to die this much was true, people who didnā€™t deserve it people who simply wanted to protect this country where going to die simply because itā€™s allowed now. He looked up from his hand and looked over his fellow squad members. What was it they thought about all of this? Did they just want the power? Or maybe they were like him? He placed his hand on his chest like all the others but no words came from his mouth no chant and no praise. As far as he was concerned this country had given his life up for forfeit along with the lives of all the students brought to this school.

A hazel haired girl was making her way through the gates of Archon Academy. She exuded a calm professional air and didn't slow her stride at all when the guards stood in her way, asking for clearance. Instead, she showed them the letter with the Headmaster's crest on it. Instantly, they parted for her.

Slowly tracing her way through the large academy, she glanced around, taking in the rising sun and the way it reflected the morning dew on the greenery around. Morning. The newcomers must've had their briefing yesterday and having breakfast now. She was a little hungry, true... but the mission came first. Walking around, she ended up getting lost several times.

"...I'm lost..." the girl sighed, before going in search of the Headmaster's office again.

Eventually, she found it. After a decisive moment, she knocked the door, awaiting the permission to enter.

Elphida RA. Dynami

Elphida was dressed in her training attire, once again, the pants were fashioned in a way that they were like hakamas, with her knee high boots underneath. It felt far more soothing, cool due to the breeze, and definitely less irritating that having to stuff the pants into her boots. She stood in line, waiting for her food. Once the unappetizing gunk was slapped onto her dish... she just walked off immediately, not bothering to get the rest of the so called 'food', in the cafeteria.

'Seriously...how do they expect us to eat this when it looks like THIS?' she questioned herself as she sat down in a lone table and used a fork to prod and lift the sticky food up. She looked rather unapproachable, or at least she hoped she looked intimidating enough with her stormy grey eyes and permanent, but tiring frown, so that no one would come up to her, try to challenge her, talk with her and find out her weakness, things like that.

With a small sigh, she jabbed a small portion into her mouth and chewed...or at least tried to. It was just goop and trying to chew was like trying to bite into water... something to that effect. So she ended up just swallowing it and then playing around with the food, pushing it all over the dish.

...And then eating it again.

Rallen smiled at his squad sergeant and stood up to great him with a grin quickly throwing his right hand over the manā€™s shoulder. Sure it would be considered disrespectful to most people of higher ranking but the way Rallen saw it they were both on the same team and both equal in class ā€œHey there Leader man! Do anything fun today?ā€ He said with a grin and laugh. He let go of him right after and sat back down to the group they seemed to have formed. He turned his attention to the next fellow to appear and rose a brow at first glance which quickly went away when her realized he was in the same squad as Suna. Friendly, more or less in his opinion. He watched Suna move over and nodded at the fellow. ā€œGo ahead we got the room for anyone in the Company.ā€ He said with a smile at the man. ā€œSo whatā€™s your name then?ā€ he asked the seemingly shy man.

Before he could answer Rallen noticed another member of his squad taking a seat on their own as short way away. He raised a brow at her avoidance but it didnā€™t take him long to put two and two together. If he remembered correctly she was E class or in a better word easy prey for anyone looking. Poor girl to be thrown into this chaos on her own. What kind of squad mate would he be to just abandon her on her own like that? Rallen quickly stood back up to his feet and wrapped his hands around his lips to amplify his voice. ā€œOi Elphida over here!ā€ he quickly waved over to her not really caring if any one gave him a strange look for yelling. Rallen had made it a rule to learn his squadā€™s names before actually talking to them as to avoid that awkward moment where there talking and he doesnā€™t know what to call them.

Karu looks over at Rallen and stays silent for a while as he thinks over his own response and gives a decent enough one, "My name's Karu..." As he looks at he, he looks... quite odd, but didn't mind Karu. Hearing Rallen shout a name at the general direction caught Karu's eye to have him look over there and sees a young girl with with white hair looking back at him yet again thinking that he's some "Casanova" looking back at his tray pondering about many possibilities the filled his mind with mixed emotions, but mostly disgust or something of that regard of judgemental standards, but didn't pay mind to it and just analyzed the area yet again for another time.

nearly attacking Rallen for yelling she raised her head a sleepy expression on her face. 'why so loud' shaking her head she was sad that Rallen had woken her up from her 5 minute nap since she loved taking naps.

turning back to Rallen "shhh" before resting her head on her shoulders and going back to sleep.

Elphida RA. Dynami

One of the members from her squad, the man with similar colored hair as her and the gauntlet was on his feet and calling out to her. ā€œOi Elphida over here!ā€ he quickly waved over to her. Elphida was a little shocked at the opened display and couldn't help but feel eyes staring into her. She didn't remember his name but... it went something like... Ryan Ironhand or something... Sounded about right, but Elphida had a feeling it wasn't correct either.

Deciding not to be stared at for too long, she picked up her now empty(not so empty) plate and threw it into the boxes for cleaning before making her way there. Their squad leader was there, Rey Vandelion, his name, she knew. Not because he was the squad leader and she was trying to suck up to him, more like he was the squad leader and didn't seem to give a damn about things... She was scared of people like him. Sure, they weren't scary, but sometimes things happen due to their lack of interest and care. A small male was also standing there, although twig thing, he was taller than she was. She couldn't figure out whether he was a Guardian or Magus, and she probably couldn't anyway, seeing as how she had totally no magical skills like the rest had. Another girl with red eyes and again, same colored hair as she did was also sitting there. Everyone from the squad was here.

"...Hi. I don't really recall your names, apologies..." she stopped herself from stammering, which was successful...except maybe that slight quiver during the start of her sentence. But... at least she didn't stammer all the way.

Meeko Reul B. Flueret

ā€œEnter.ā€

Meeko did not hesitate to open the doors and enter upon having granted entrance.She had only been to the room once before, but she still envied it. Large and semicircular with bookshelves and display cases lining its walls, at the center was a huge circular desk at which the Headmaster sat, draped by a wall of windows behind him. The mountains beyond were cast with early morning light at their peaks, but as the office faced to the west the morning sun had yet to grace the room with its warmth, and the dark cherry finish of the furniture added to the professional vibe the office exuded.

Just the way it was like when she first came in.

"Sir, Meeko Bertrand reporting." she saluted, then motioned to her clothes with an embarrassed but elegant gesture. "I do apologize for the lack of appearance. I had no time to change into the academy's uniform. You see, I just arrived."

"Now that the casual talk is aside, I'd like to just say that the crime lord that was put under my care is now closely monitored by the armed forces. I did have to resort to certain measures of... 'negotiations', but after capturing one of his henchmen after the small skirmish I had in one of their safe houses, we've gathered some intel as to the different safe houses he has. They're currently under surveillance. One bad move, and he's on the way to prison."

"On any other day, I would have loved to apprehend him myself." Meeko sounded a little confident, and somehow arrogant as well. "But I was only ordered to track his location, or in this case, locations, down. My mission is complete."

Rallen smiled at the fact he got the girl to come over. He sat down just before she arrived and listened to Caspians comment. He shrugged at this and spoke out again. ā€œSure I could but then your life would be rather boring wouldnā€™t it? he then turned his attention to Caspians roommate and tilted his head at the fellow really having no idea what the man was thinking are even trying to say to him. ā€œUmā€¦thinking what youā€™re thinkingā€¦.probably notā€¦maybeā€ He then turned to Suna who had decided to shush him. ā€œDid youā€¦fall asleep?ā€ he questioned already knowing the answer. ā€œWell sorry there maybe Iā€™ll silently scream instead Iā€™m sure that would be better.ā€ he nodded to himself rather certain of himself. Finally her turned to Elphida who had just walked up to them. ā€œYou already forgot my name?ā€ he let out a grunt and grabbed his heart. ā€œSo cruel to hear from someone Iā€™ll shed blood with someday.ā€ He perked back up with a smile. ā€œIts Rallen do try to remember it this time would you?ā€ he nodded at her lightly. ā€œyou know you really shouldnā€™t eat off on your own like that after all thereā€™s strength in numbers right?ā€ he nodded to himself.

Rallen brought his left hand up to his chin and thought to himself for a quick moment. He looked around at the group they had seemed to of gathered in the time span of the short moment. ā€œHey guys can I ask you all something?ā€ he sighed a bit and dropped his hand back down. ā€œWhat is it you guys want out of this whole Rite thing? Do you want to be the emperor or just survive?ā€ He stared off for a short moment before he spoke up once more. ā€œI suppose I should share if Iā€™m asking. Iā€™m not interested in this whole Rite and become the emperor thing. In fact I think itā€™s all just a bunch of nonsense. What I am interested in though is keeping my friends alive and keeping the next emperor from being some power hungry foul.ā€ He looked around at the surrounding students his voice having calmed down significantly from when he started.

Karu looks at Rallen with serious eyes as he stands up straight getting out of his chair, "If there's anything I want more than the position of emperor myself." In such a determined tone, yet sorrowful, almost even pitiable. "Is for my friends to never fall in battle..." He closes his eyes for a while as he stays silent, "I may be hard to talk to, hard to approach, even harder to find in public; I will see it through that we make it from hell and back if it's the last thing I do. We are in the same squad, you may be superior, or even under me; that's no reason that one should better live than the other; at times where I can't have everything, but I'm selfish that way. I will find a way to take it." Before he finishes his 'patriotic speech' or whatever, they face Karu, his eyes covered by his hair, only the ones looking directly straight at Karu can only see the one eye not bandaged as his eyes were black one moment and as he opens his eyes once again is turns yellow (in this case Rallen). Karu taking notice when he makes his pause he covers his eye and backs up immediately, "I-I-I." Karu stuttering and fumbling over syllables, "I... need to go to the bathroom." He bolts to the bathroom in fear. Everyone else looking at Karu as he runs off wonder what happened to him, except for Rallen who knows.

Facing down in the sink as he takes off the eyepatch letting the water run, he looks up at his reflection with the golden yellow eyes, "Heh... I guess it's going to happen again. Maybe I shouldn't have tried..."

Elphida RA. Dynami

ā€œYou already forgot my name?ā€ the white haired man let out a grunt and grabbed his heart. ā€œSo cruel to hear from someone Iā€™ll shed blood with someday.ā€ he perked back up with a smile. ā€œIts Rallen do try to remember it this time would you?ā€ he nodded. ā€œYou know you really shouldnā€™t eat off on your own like that after all thereā€™s strength in numbers right?ā€ he nodded to himself.

Elphida almost went to her usual textbook smile and repeated nods, but remembered just in time she wasn't going to be the weak link in the group and just shrugged.

'I have to appear strong...at least for now...' she thought to herself, fearing the notion of the training they were about to receive.

ā€œHey guys can I ask you all something?ā€ Elphida was snapped from her deep thoughts by Rallen's voice. ā€œWhat is it you guys want out of this whole Rite thing? Do you want to be the emperor or just survive?ā€ He seemed to stare off into space before he spoke up once more. ā€œI suppose I should share if Iā€™m asking. Iā€™m not interested in this whole Rite and become the emperor thing. In fact I think itā€™s all just a bunch of nonsense. What I am interested in though is keeping my friends alive and keeping the next emperor from being some power hungry foul.ā€

Elphida found the man's sentence likable, but she had too many experiences with people who say one thing and did the other. Power did terrible things to people, even when they don't want it.

The thin boy looked at Rallen with serious eyes as he stood up from his chair.

"If there's anything I want more than the position of emperor myself." the boy said with a rather intriguing tone. "Is for my friends to never fall in battle..." He closed his eyes for a while as he stayed silent, "I may be hard to talk to, hard to approach, even harder to find in public; I will see it through that we make it from hell and back if it's the last thing I do. We are in the same squad, you may be superior, or even under me; that's no reason that one should better live than the other; at times where I can't have everything, but I'm selfish that way. I will find a way to take it."

Elphida avoided looking at the boy, she didn't really want to stared spilling tears. She was the type to cry at such speeches of self-sacrifice or protecting someone, that kind of emotional stuff. Stopping herself from crying was already good enough, but to look at the boy would just cause her to cry.

"I-I-I." Karu stuttered and fumbled over syllables, "I... need to go to the bathroom."

Elphida looked up in time to see Karu bolting. Then Suna decided to take her leave.

With a deep breathe, Elphida decided to tell her own idea of the Rite.

"...I think it's stupid." she put out bluntly. "We don't need the Rite at all...It just means that the strongest becomes the new Emperor, and not the smartest. It's the stupidest way to determine a new ruler. Any power-hungry fool would decide to take it for his or her own benefit."

"...I never wanted to come here for this. I wanted to create an orphanage for orphans in this war-inflicted world." she muttered quietly while averting her eyes.

Rallen yelled with a wave on his hands. Although he didn't cared, he still tried to look who it was. It could have be one of his squad members, but who knows? Might have been Rallen's roommate or friend or even maybe a sibling that he didn't know from the details of the team. He swung his head to the back, only to find a girl, with the third same hair as the three on the table. "Elphida, eh? She was in my squad, if I remember." He tried to jog his memories, but it just didn't work. Dammit brain! Remember! Fucking remember! Those words boomed in his head, yet nothing about her other than the information about her. He placed his palm over to his face, and sighed.

When the silver haired girl came and asked who they were, he quickly smiled. "Seems like you have a bad memory. Just like me!" He laughed at his own joke, noticing no one followed. What Rallen said seemed to make sense. 'Strength in numbers', eh? That's something to look out for. He made a note to himself. it was very much true. Standing alone makes one limited in powers, however, with a number of people by your side, the power limits from nothing. It can be deadly yet it can be miraculous.

'Why?', Rallen asked. Once he gave his personal opinion on the matter, Karu seemed to have joined in. The shy young man actually had a determined tone in his speech, and what he said was almost the same as Rallen's, if they weren't leeching off each other. Suna seemed to have decided to leave group when Karu left in state where tears almost came out. Elphida then gave her view on things and goal after this. Rey thought for a while. 'Starting an orphanage'... That actually sounded good for once. Rey's lips stretched a smile, as he stood up and gave a thumbs up to Elphida. "That's a good thing. Not much people ever wants to start an orphanage, nowadays." He said, offering the girl to sit down. "This war-torn world is turning for a bad end. It's not gonna wait for us to turn itself. Time moves along with it and so as the war. It stretches from nations to nations, it kills millions, whether it be a women or a child, it pays no heed to such things. All it does is cause more destruction on the world." He said and sat back down. "My parents are in a country side home now, but what we have seen before really tore us mentally. The men of the war took the women and raped them. Then they tossed them aside like piece of trashes and killed them. Moral ain't gonna cut to them, so that's why we have to end this war. I know that even when the war ends, crimes still persists; however, if only even a life can be saved, I will see to it that it safely lives in this world." He said, bringing his legs outside the chair. "I have no idea about the others, but there is one thing I know, and that is to protect those within my blade range. Killing is never good, but killing in war also doesn't mean you have the right to. Every life is precious, and we have to treasure it. You might have a different view of things from me, but I don't care. I have a duty to uphold, and that is to protect this life that my parents had gave, and to protect my friends and dear ones with this body." He said, as he immediately stopped his speech. "That is about what I think. But no matter what, I shall protect everyone, so you don't have to worry." He said, ending with a yawn and his face laying down on the table.

Caspian heard Rallenā€™s question and looked at his hands, thinking for a few minutes. Kyles spoke up though, ā€œOf course Iā€™m not going to take it seriously! I mean come one, this Rite is for the seniors right? I mean, us freshmen donā€™t have a really chance, weā€™re all the best from our high schools but these guys are the best in the nation, weā€™re out of our league. Right?ā€ he was all smiles despite his depressing comments, throwing his arm over Caspianā€™s shoulder and leaning heavily on the young man.

ā€œIā€™m not so sure if thatā€™s wiseā€¦ either of youā€¦ā€ Caspian looked up to the others and was clearly embarrassed that heā€™d spoken so bluntly, ā€œWell, uh, I meanā€¦ you knowā€¦ thatā€™s j-just not how the Rite works right? I mean, the whole point of it is to fight.ā€ He sat down and continued, again looking down, this whole lecture and discussion bothering him for some reason, ā€œThe rite is meant to find the best for the job, itā€™s why our nations is so strong. The Rite is meant for the best to battle one another, and in the process those with the will to lead are made to shine, at least thatā€™s what they taught us in schoolā€¦ itā€™s not about the actual challenges so much as it is about the will to keep going, the charisma to subjugate others to aid you, when they introduced the ability to form alliances that was meant to show who could lead best right?ā€ He looked up again, ā€œBut, if we donā€™t all try our hardest, and we donā€™t aspire to win then the Rite is pointlessā€¦ if we donā€™t take it seriously, it means weā€™re just wasting our time, and otherā€™s sacrifices.ā€

Caspian was silent again, and after a few seconds was beginning to stammer out an apology when another voice cut in, ā€œYouā€™ve got a point there.ā€ Caspian turned and stood, like a shot, standing there before the group of freshmen was the Battalion commander, General Ruler, with a friendly smile and looking like he didnā€™t have a care in the world.

Elphida RA. Dynami

'Magic Training...' Elphida thought to herself. Oh God... everyone was going to know she had no magical potential at all. What was she gonna do? That was all Elphida worried about while she trudged her way to the Magus side of the training area with good composition. Maybe some miracle will happen. Maybe her magical skills would manifest in this time of her need...but even if it did happen...it would be a mere fluke. She was way to easy to spot if one were to locate her by aura. She didn't have one. In a sea of auras burning brightly, she was the only one void of it. While this may have hidden her earlier, in a situation like this where she would be singled out, it was a double edged blade.

She ran her hand through the small rectangular cover that she had strapped onto the left side of her chest. This was her only charm in times like this.

'Ancestors guide me...' she prayed silently to herself.

A short while later, a hazel haired girl walked up to Lieutenant Drake and saluted. Now that was a top-notch salute right there, even Elphida could tell. This girl seemed very professional. And... wait. Was she part of the SDU?! She had the red beret and cord!

"Meeko Bertrand, ma'am. Apologies for lateness, I was preoccupied by an errand. I'm willing to take disciplinary action."

Meeko Reul B. Flueret

ā€œWell, very well done, as expected Cadet, and youā€™re right, mission accomplished Bertrand, well done.ā€

Meeko dipped her head politely with a smile.

The Headmaster stood and straightened his uniform a bit before looking out the window; a squad of cadets marching past below, ā€œYour arrival on campus couldnā€™t be at a more opportune moment for such an upstanding studentā€¦ I assume youā€™ve heard the rumors but Iā€™ll put them to rest now. They are true, the Council has elected to enact the Rite of Successionā€¦ and Archon Academy is the primary battlefield.ā€

Rite of Succession... Meeko's smile grew more pronounced as a look flashed across her eyes. Yes. This was a good thing for her. She would prove not just to a person, not just to a group of people, not just the school. She could prove to the entire nation of her strength. It was just the thing she needed to showcase her strength.

Turning to his desk he reached into one of the drawers and looked up at her, ā€œI apologize if you feel worn down after your previous mission, because I doubt a Class A Student in the First Year group is going to find much rest because of these events, but I have no doubt youā€™ll rise to the challenge," he placed a PDA in front of her and a folded set of papers, to which Meeko bowed for permission before reaching over to look at them with interest, starting with the PDA first. She occasionally glanced at the Headmaster to show she was listening to what he was telling her.

ā€œTo aid in the Rite all students are being provided with a special App on their PDAs that tracks their standing and challenges, Iā€™d suggest you familiarize yourself with itā€¦ and thereā€™s been a change to your posting as well. With the Charlie Company Commander being a member of your house and your position in your house being what it is, Ms. Bertrand, the board of directors for the school have seen fit to remove you from his command to avoid any conflicts of interest.ā€ He looked at her apologetically, ā€œJust a precaution, as Iā€™m sure youā€™re aware, however the fact remains. These orders transfer you officially to Alpha Company, Third Platoon, Fourth Squad. Youā€™ll find your room assignment has changed as well.ā€ He saluted her, forcing her to stand and return the salute, ā€œYouā€™re Dismissed, Cadet Bertrand.ā€

She picked up the PDA and the papers, bowing yet again.

ā€œYour new unit should be at training fields two and three today, the PDA has a map function so it shouldnā€™t be hard to find.ā€

"I'll be there swiftly sir, you can count on that." she said with a smile.

As she went to leave, he stepped out from behind his desk and reached into his jacket, ā€œOh and one more thing,ā€ he took out a red beret and cord and held them out to her, ā€œConsider this recognition of a job well doneā€¦ā€

Meeko stared at the red beret and cord with an astonished look on her face. "I...I...wha..."

She realized what she was doing and she recovered quickly. Instead of bowing, this time Meeko curtsied low in front of the Headmaster, before taking the items. This was an honour and Meeko felt exactly that.

"Thank you sir. I will wear these colors with pride and I will not shame it." she saluted once more and left the room. She made her way to her previous room, utilizing the PDA right off the bat. She made a few mistakes, but eventually she was accustomed to the tablet. With great speed, she packed up most of her stuff, since she hadn't really unpacked when she first arrived, making the job all the more quicker for the hazel-haired girl. She ran the shower to wash off the sweat she had accumulated, as well as to wash off some of the grime from her travels.

In no time, she was in her training uniform, crisp and clean, her hair smelling the way it had been since she was young, a sweet, orangey tang wafting in the air. Observing herself in the mirror to make sure she was presentable, she picked up the red beret and cord from her bed, well, soon to be ex-bed and stared at it with wonder. She snapped out of it, after daydreaming for about 5 minutes and put the cord on. It sure was visible... She pinned the Bertrand family crest on her uniform, displaying it for the world to see. She picked up another crest from the table top and looked at it for a short while with a blank look in her eyes before pinning it onto her shirt underneath the uniform. She fixed her hair and then placed the beret perfectly on top of her head. A bit more mirror checking ensued before she was satisfied with the outcome.

~~~~~
She was in her new room, which was currently occupied by one other student.
'Elphida...At least she's tidy', Meeko observed the room, seeing how everything was placed properly and nothing was all over the place. She dumped her gear down in her corner and was then out of the door, not planning on wasting time.
"Training Fields..." Meeko mumbled to herself, plotting down on the PDA. Following the directions, she took a good look at her surroundings to get to know the place. Maybe she won't need to rely on the PDA so much if she did just that!
"Here we are." Meeko walked out onto the fields, two swords buckled onto the right side of her waist, one above the other. One was a thin elegant sword in it's equally graceful sheath, which must be a rapier, seeing as no other sword would have such a small, thin size. The other was of course, the standard issue Archon Academy sword, which felt was just an extra weight. She had perfect control over her sword and didn't plan on killing anyone. But rules are rules.
"Magus Training would fall under..." she looked at the groups separated. Easy enough to find out. The General was training that group over there...and he was a Guardian...
"Oh... Lieutenant Drake..." she said to herself when she noticed the white haired senior standing in front of the other group. "Magus it is then."
She made her way over to Ethelyn and saluted sharply. "Meeko Bertrand, ma'am. Apologies for lateness, I was-" Meeko thought hard for a word to make it sound simpler, she didn't want to be bragging. "-preoccupied by an errand. I'm willing to take disciplinary action."
"No need for apologies Cadet Bertrand, I don't take kindly to late arrivals, and I also don't need an announcement of your lateness. So join the rest of your squad and let me proceed before you become my target for this demonstration."
Oh? So Ms. Lieutenant wanted to pick a fight did she? Meeko's competitive nature immediately rose to the challenge. The snake should know better to not get burnt by the sun's wrath.
As she stepped into her spot, not knowing who her new squad members were, she watched as the Magus shot of incredibly...over-decorated moves, if she could say so herself. Simplicity was elegance. When her NCO cleared her throat, Meeko merely silenced the lady with a curt wave of her hand, not even bothering to take her eyes of the other Magus. This, of course, made her NCO a tad irritated. Finally, she settled on her target- the white haired girl who just stood there doing nothing while her NCO merely yelled at her. Hmm... trouble with magic?
Now, Meeko lifted her hand up slowly and almost daintily, like she had been doing this for years. It was the truth though, Meeko had been practicing magic far more than her actual spellsword techniques, so her confidence in magic was more than what she had in her combat technique. A crackling orange mana generated in her hands, forming an incredibly dense ball of energy. She didn't use much mana, but compacting the energy itself gave the appearance of it being fairly supercharged when it wasn't. The NCO behind her merely gasped as the orange aura emanated from her, granting her the appearance of the sun. She kept her eye of the one who tried to pick a fight with her, and the snapped her arm forward in an angle, sending the ball flying into a curve.
With gusto, her ball of energy sped through the air, slicing through the air as if to say 'screw you air resistance'. Reaching her target, the combat dummy did not explode like it did with the others, but the energy ball pierce through dead center cleanly before speeding towards the Lieutenant and narrowly missed the side of her head before curving around back to the target range and colliding into an explosion onto the white haired girl's target.
'Hope your snappy mouth was worth the scare, Lieutenant.' Meeko thought smugly to herself. Well, she was going to get into trouble already even after apologizing, she might as well just cause even more trouble. Leaving her NCO behind, she walked forward to the place where the cadets had managed to fire their spells, only stopping to examine the damage she did to her own dummy, noting the burn markings around the pierced hole.
'More practice...' she sighed before continuing, dipping into a small curtsy when she came face to face with the Lieutenant. She rearranged her beret as if without a care in the world and walked onwards to wait at the back.
Elphida RA. Dynami
Elphida struggled to bring her magic potential to fore. She forcefully tried to emanate her aura but to no avail. She wasn't able to generate mana, and without that, she would not be able to fire a spell at all. While she kept her hand pointed at the target dummy,her NCO just sighing with exasperation and yelling at her at the same time. She was almost going to give up and say she knew absolutely nothing about magic until suddenly her target exploded.
Elphida was stunned. Did she do that? COULD she? Impossible. The NCO merely grunted and told her she took her own sweet time. Elphida trudged over to the other side a little confused. Perhaps it was yet another fluke? Or maybe luck was shining on her? It was the oddest thing to have happened to her. When she was there, she caught sight of a hazel haired girl in a red beret winking at her and giving her a thumbs up. That was when Elphida figured out what happened.
'Thank You.' she mouthed to the girl, who merely smiled and shook her head as if to say 'No Problem.'
Sure, she might've been assisted this time but... surely she couldn't rely on some helpful girl all the time...
Elphida RA. Dynami
"Cadet Dynami, if you don't mind you can use dummy number 5." Ethelyn pointed at the dummy in front of her.
Elphida almost yelped when she heard this but resigned to her fate, only to witness a horrible turn of events. While Sear, as Ethelyn had called him, had managed to make a perfect shot this time, other cadet's powered orbs were misdirected and went straight for Sear, their trajectory somehow changed. Thankfully, the Lieutenant cast a spell, protecting the cadet with stone walls.
'So she is a nice person after all...' she thought. Or perhaps it was just responsibility that the Lieutenant acted on. Either way, it didn't change the fact that she had to go back to the range and start all over again, and possibly fail.
Stepping in front of the dummy, Elphida concentrated, focusing as much as she could. No matter what she did though, she couldn't grasp the wall that separated her energy from her, or perhaps there was no wall at all... There was no refreshing feeling of the cool, powerful energy washing over her like what other Magus would feel. Nothing... What did she have to do?
She felt helpless...and not to mention stupid, standing there with her hand outstretched towards the dummy. There was nothing she could do. Nothing... Fire. Fire. Fire. Why couldn't she just fire a ball of energy from her hand?!
She just stood there with nothing forming in her hand, and no aura around her.
Meeko Reul B. Flueret
"Cadet Betrand! Same goes for you, we are not piercing holes in our targets, that would be a laser aura cannon, and exploding your neighbor's dummy does not count as a final aura cannon hit. You can try again like Cadet Sear over there."
"Hee, gotcha ma'am." Meeko saluted with a overly-polite smile. What she had done was perfect control of her aura, but if that did not count and what this girl wanted was power...
The craziest event happened when the cadet called Sear made a good shot, but seemed to draw the fire of every other cadet's aura cannon straight towards him. And if her eyes weren't lying... it was his own aura twisting them into his direction. Odd. Very odd. From the corner of her eye, she saw Ethelyn moving around and she turned to look at the Lieutenant. She was drawing out runes and then stomped her feet down on the ground. Barrier type movement augmented with accuracy?
As if on cue to her deduction, a large rock barrier erupted around the frightened cadet and shielded him from the blasts. Wow. Big softy wasn't she? And Meeko thought she was a tough cookie. Guess not. But this got the hazel head's respect and she decided to let go of the small challenge between her and the Lieu.
"That was a good call ma'am." Meeko told Ethelyn, all traces of mockery gone, she sounded far more serious and professional than anyone else in the field, perhaps save the fact of the officers. It was true, any injury to a cadet on the first day would be expected, but not favourable. She bowed a little, no longer the mocking curtsy she did before. "If you'll excuse me. Perhaps I'll go back to the range and give you the power that you want."
ā€œM-Meeko!ā€
She heard the voice, a long forgotten, yet familiar voice. She turned to look at the source of the sound as slowly as she could and saw who it was. In an instant, she felt a combination of burning fury and cold indifference consuming her from inside. Instead of showing any signs of recognition, she just seemed to peer at him with cool disinterest and turn away without sparing him a second glance. Her entire demeanor had changed. She stood back straighter, steps more controlled and stance more composed. She was not going to show any weakness at a time like this. She was going to show the fool just how much stronger she had gotten. Be it in terms of magic which she had since a young age surpass him in, or... or... or in the Art of Spellswords.
"Yea. I'll give you the power you want, ma'am..." she murmured as she passed Ethelyn, her voice laced with iciness.
Settling herself in the range, she rose her dominant(left) hand and generated a monstrous amount of aura in her palm. The aura she had was searing, a bright orange sun in the midst of the field, threatening to consume every grass in vicinity. Indeed, scorch marks had already began forming around where she stood.
A dangerously fatal orange orb of death danced in her palm, which she stared at without much surprise. She could generate far more than this, but this was already frightening enough for most under-developed cadets that still couldn't control their aura as good as she could. Her eyes went from the dummy, then slowly to Caspian.
'I hope you see this.'
She lost interest in him and looked at Ethelyn before nodding. This was power right here.
She cast it right at the dummy.
Upon leaving her hand, the orb immediately grew in size and not to mention began spinning like a drill, a maelstrom of energy that ate up everything around it, the grass underneath was consumed by the energy leaving scorched trails in its path. By the time it was halfway to the dummy, the orb was no longer an orb, it was more of a whirlwind fireball of energy if anything. It smashed through the dummy without much resistance, utterly consuming it into nothing, leaving no traces of a dummy behind, except perhaps that broken small pole that held it upright still sticking up from the ground. Not done, the aura cannon continued it's trajectory, only to veer off course with an expertly angle cast from Meeko. After continuing for quite sometime in no-man's-land, the aura cannon died out.
Her task done, she walked back to Ethelyn with a smile.
"I do hope that was what you were looking for ma'am? If it's not to your satisfaction, I don't mind doing it again." she said.
Suna
she watched all the others as they performed their cannon shots, especially one girl with hazel-brown hair who shot that drilled through the air and straight through the dummy and continued to fly before dissipating after a few moments more. The girl caught her attention now and Suna stared at her, her eyes looking the girl over analyzing everything that could be seen with the naked eye and beyond, a skill her mother made sure to refine to the best of her daughters ability. 'Which family is she from ah i see' Suna's eyes caught the small pin on her lapel with the Bertands crest. Suna knew full well of the Bertands as well as all the other families just like she had told Caspian and now that she glanced over at him his expression was rather strange and Suna looked at where he was staring at and it was the same hazel-haired girl who shot the cannon shot. Suna simply glanced between the two slowly connecting the dots that most would take forever connecting, her eyes widened a bit as she put two and two together an almost smile on her face "this will be interesting" her voice very quiet so no one would have been able to hear or see her expression through her shawl.
Rallen let out a sigh as he took notice of Elphida clearly struggling. He took a few steps around the area towards the girl trying to find out what it was that was going wrong for her. He placed his hand on his chin and contemplated to himself for a moment. He turned his head to Caspian who had managed to actually shoot something though it wasnā€™t much. Elphida hadnā€™t managed anything however. ā€œLetā€™s see what can I do to help?ā€ He asked himself silently. He continued to watch her for a short while longer questing as to why she had yet to do anything. Finally he spoke up to her. ā€œConcentrate Elphida dig deep and fire all you have to do is fire. Donā€™t worry about hitting just shoot.ā€ He spoke softly so only a few people around him including Elphida could hear him.
At the same time Rallens own manna began to leak out only visible to people with the power and knowledge to see ones mana. It was a blood red and came out like a flame being gently blown in the wind. It was thick and dense and showed no sign of slowing down. In truth this was normal for him a way to keep him alive. Even as the mana left his body there was more constantly being pumped into him, not at the rate it was leaving but it still came back quickly like it always hadnā€™t. He was fully aware his mana was doing this; normally heā€™d just take one of his pills to calm it down but he left it alone letting it fill the air as to allow any one that was able to absorb it even if it was just a little in order to get there shot off.
Meeko Reul B. Flueret
Meeko's super-lightning speed aura cannon did not damage the dummy at all, it merely melted into a puddle and evaded the aura cannon, causing it to rebound off the barrier and straight back to her. Her reflex reaction was to dodge out of the way, but the aura cannon hit the barrier behind her and reflected back again.
"Tch...in a situation like this..." Meeko stood with her feet apart, her left hand held in a stance. Just as the cannon was about to hit her hand.
'Sight-Counter'
With her eyes emitting her orange aura, Meeko did a sweeping motion with her hand, a slight aura forming. The cannon hit the aura barrier and seemed to seep into the orange aura. For what seemed like a split second later, the aura bulged to form the exact same aura cannon and shot straight back towards the magical barrier around them. As it rebounded, Meeko side-stepped and dodged the projectile, letting it make its way towards the dummy again.
However, just like before, the dummy seemed to melt into the puddle once again and with that, it was like time repeated itself. The aura cannon rebounded once more and Meeko was forced to avoid the attack.
'I'll just have to use it then.' Meeko stood firm, dead center in the trajectory of the aura cannon and held her hands aloft, holding them in a sort of square in front of her. Her orange aura started to concentrate around her hands and flickered, slowly at first, but gaining speed quickly. Soon, the flickering aura was so bright that everything turned either bright orange or completely dull, as if the orange aura was the only colour in the world. For those familiar with Bertrand Clan abilities, they would recognize the feeling that emanated from this aura...and the sheer proficiency. It was like it was drawing in all the available auras around her. This time Meeko's eyes were glowing, glowing orange. So bright that her eyes were bright orange orbs, no trace of her pupils or sclera, or anything like that.
'Sight-Counter: Kai'
The aura cannon was absorbed at an incredibly fast rate and Meeko re-positioned herself and a surge of energy flowed from her hands, causing the aura cannon to be countered.
"I'm not done yet!" Meeko cried out, her eyes practically alight with energy. With a sudden movement, another aura cannon of the exact same make emerged and followed right behind the first aura cannon. A Counter with an extra kick.
The dummy, dodging the first aura cannon, immediately reformed... right when the second aura cannon hit it. A spontaneous reaction too place, as if the aura cannon was initially compressed and was now unleashing its power. The dummy immediately dissolved from the attack and Meeko was left alone in the battle.
"Ugh..." Meeko held her fingers to her eyes, trying to stifle the growing pain from the usage of such an advanced and unorthodox Sight technique. Sure, she had used it before, but there was a reason she never used it OFTEN. Everything was hazy and colourless to Meeko as she peered through her eyes. They felt dry...and they were bleeding. Meeko could tell without touching her eyes. She had used this technique a few times to know what it does. The faint trickles of blood flowed from the edges of her half-lidded eyes.
"Mission...accomplished." Meeko muttered, stumbling out of the barrier with a bit of difficulty, still keeping her hands to her eyes, trying to get rid of the redness.
Partially blinded, she never saw Caspian's battle, but she felt a slight shift in the atmosphere, sensing something happened when it wasn't supposed to. Slowly feeling her way, she stared at what she made out to be the blurry outline of their Lieutenant in charge and saluted.
"Completed ma'am."
She bowed and made her way... to wherever she was going in her semi-blind state. But not until she felt a humongous burst of amazing aura. It was so dense, so... powerful! This caught her attention, but at the same time, made her aura feel like a child in comparison to this gargantuan force. It made her rush for power immediately surface.
A smile was drawn on her face. That ever overly-ambitious smile.
'...An opponent.'
Elphida RA. Dynami
Elphida waited at the very end of the group, not wanting to get involved in any of the sparring training with the dummies. It seemed rather difficult and the hazel-haired girl that had helped her was having some difficulties before she ended it with a great finish. On the other hand, the one in black hair... that sudden change in movement, the sudden change of atmosphere... just what happened?
As she proceeded to walk to the hazel-haired girl who was stumbling about, she stopped in her tracks a good few seconds before everyone else, a single sweatdrop dripping down her chin to the grassy earth. She seemed to have anticipated something... something terrifying.
A massive surge of aura radiated out from main building, a powerful beam of blue light rushing out, almost becoming one with the skies.
"What...?" Elphida stared with wide eyes, before she was caught by the wind. Her hands brought up to shield herself from the blast of wind, whipping her hair around. When the sudden gale was over, she continued to stare at the building with disbelief. To think that a aura duckling like her would be able to sense something like that... That was no ordinary Magus...
