Appearance
Since she was a kid, Franky has had beautifully curly hair that does whatever the hell it wants and does not care how much you may try to tame it into a style. She can make it a bit less frizzy if she's feeling it, but truth be told Franky loves her hair. She loves most things about herself- something that one doesn't always find a common trait in her field of work. Franky is a woman of many looks, but whatever she does she does in a way she finds fun. Working in software development doesn't usually call for particularly formal work clothes, and she stretches dress code in whatever way fits her style. One day, it might be snakeskin ankle boots and leather pants with a more formal blouse. The next, a simple T-shirt and bell bottom jeans. If it fits her mood, she is wearing it, and Franky has never been concerned as to whether her outfits suit her- if she's wearing them then they do, and that's that.

Truth be told, Franky has a bit of a shopping problem. She buys cheap, mostly at used clothing stores and sales racks, but she buys in bulk. To try and justify this, Franky makes sure to wear everything she buys at least twice, and is also a big believer in re-purposing clothing and fabrics to make all new looks. This particularly comes in handy when she can only find a cute item in a size too big, which is occasionally the case as Franky is tall and lean. A fast metabolism paired with a borderline obsession with jump roping and cycling make up for all the time she spends sitting in front of a computer at work to keep her in fairly good shape, much to the chagrin of her mother who is constantly telling her to put some more meat on her bones. In general, she favors pants over skirts because she is someone who truly appreciates her mobility, and can be found just as often in trendy athleisure wear as she is in jeans or flowy pants. If she likes it, she wears it, there is no set style for this girl. Being able to move around is key, but within that she's very into how clothing looks.

ImageSince childhood, Franky has always been a very lively person. The youngest of four and the only daughter, she spent her entire childhood running to keep up with her elder brothers, and it's taught her to roll with the punches and socialize pretty well. She likes to be surrounded by excitement and people, hopping from one group to the next with a wicked smile and a dirty joke. She's the type of person that can liven up a conversation or kill it, and to be honest most of the time it's not her choice which happens. The girl is almost painfully blunt, and basically says what comes to mind without hesitation. This verbal diarrhea has gotten her in plenty of trouble, both with authority figures and friends, but most of the time she manages to talk her way out of it. She was raised in a family that was very open with one another, so it has never occurred to her to keep her thoughts to herself. Franky is truly an open book, and although she can keep other people's secrets she never seems to have any of her own.

This probably all stems from her incredibly confident perspective on life. It's not that she's an optimist- Franky expects things to go wrong. But she tends to be a little cocky about things within her own control. Many things in life have come easy for the girl, and those which haven't were often cast to the side due to her somewhat prideful personality. She's not saying that she does everything right all the time, but when she sets her mind to something the girl is tenacious, and won't stop until she's succeeded in it. And when she does ultimately succeed, an ending which she believes to be certain, she'll be there with a beaming smile so genuinely happy that it's contagious, despite the twinge of smugness in it. There is something about how genuine she is that gets people to let her slide on the arrogance from time to time, because there doesn't seem to be any sense of her looking down on other people, only sometimes glorifying herself. She doesn't understand how everyone doesn't have faith in themselves.

Franky is an insatiably curious person, perhaps going hand in hand with her liveliness is her tendency to jump from subject to subject asking question after question. When something piques her interest, she wants to know everything about it. And she doesn't tend to notice when this gets on other people's nerves unless they outright tell her. Being so open herself, she expects that people will just tell her when their sick of something. She's quite dense in her inability to read other people. If you aren't as straightforward as she is, there will certainly be some miscommunication. On the bright side, she rolls with punches very well because she doesn't usually think they mean anything personal. Criticism floats well with her because she can take what she dishes out. After all, other people will always find the mistakes you missed staring at the same thing all day. One warning worth noting is that Franky can be a little bit hotheaded at times. She takes criticism well when it is well-intentioned, but one too many malicious remarks will get the girl quite worked up. And when she gets mad, she's not very good at hiding it. Being as competitive as she is, it can become a bit of a challenge. She'll spit back in your face if you spit in hers, and doesn't care whether or not it makes a scene.

ImageFranky was born in Orlando Florida, home of what she will swear up and down is the most overrated place on earth: Disney World. Her Dad was the VP of Security for the parks, so she went there for basically every event of her childhood. As did her three older brothers, who ranged from one year older to 6 years older than her. Whether in the parks or at home, Franky spent her formative years chasing her brothers down until they would let her play with them, whether the game be tag, soccer, or a contest to see who can stare at the sun longest without blinking. Determined to keep up with the older boys, this was the birth of Franky's competitive streak. She was lucky in the family she was born into, one which was very open about discussions with one another. Nothing was off the table, no matter how hard a topic, from a very young age. Her mom was a PhD in developmental psychology, and believed this to be the best way to raise children. Other than occasionally feeling like she was being analyzed by her mom, Franky adored her childhood. Terrorizing tourists, catching lizards, climbing trees- it was a charmed one. Franky has nothing to complain about when it comes to her life growing up. The supportive environment groomed her and her brothers to be confident people, sure of themselves and quick to open up to others.

Franky always switched off when it came to what she wanted to be. First it was an Astronaut, then a fashion designer, then queen of the moon. She entered college undecided, and from there went to Electrical Engineering, and then Physics, and then Pottery, then Fashion Design, until she finally landed on Computer Science. All of this within the span of the year, CS is the major that stuck. It is also probably the thing that caused most of her drinking in college. She and her friends would sit around working on projects with pizza and tequila. She worked hard and partied even harder, never concerned with relationships beyond friendship or anything like that. She was just focused on herself, her friends, and her major. Franky wouldn't change a thing. She graduated from the University of Florida and went straight into a three month backpacking trip across Europe and then into parts of Asia. From there she entered her first job with AT&T, whom she had interned with in the past. She lived in Atlanta working for them for about three years, but began to feel a bit antsy. She began interviewing with other companies, and instantly fell in love with the flight deals offered by working for Alaska Airlines. She's moved all of her stuff up there by now. While she had been job searching, she heard about the show and thought it sounded fascinating. She got the response while moving into her new apartment in Seattle, which is currently unoccupied. She hadn't quite signed her new work contract yet, and thus was able to push off her start date such that she is spending the next span of time in the Bahamas, looking for love and, perhaps more importantly, some travel money.

{ Seeking }
"I think I'm seeking what everyone is- a good time? Someone fun? A little extra money to pad the travel budget wouldn't hurt either, eh?"

Truth be told, Franky is not the most romantic of people. Sure, she knows how to flirt at parties and has certainly had her fair share of hookups and whatnot, but she's never been in a serious relationship and doesn't really know how to approach one. It always seems to her that starting one requires treading eggshells and she's not into that. The sort of person who would best suit her would be one who can keep up with her constantly changing passions and interests. Someone who has something of their own to bring to the table. She needs someone to see her eye to eye and challenge her. A Partner and rival.

{ Strengths }
Some of her strengths, like her gift for logic and programming are obvious given her career. As this is a social show, the social strengths would have to be her ability to roll with the punches and her lively personality, which makes her not too difficult to talk to.

{ Weaknesses }
Socially, Franky is actually less incompetent than one might stereotype a software developer as, but she still has her weakness. After all, she is quite dense, slightly hotheaded and without a doubt an incredibly competitive person. The odds that she'll forget the show is about finding love and find ways to turn it into a game or way to start a friendly rivalry? Rather high.

{ Fun Facts }
+ Franky is of Moroccan (Mom) and Egyptian (Dad) Descent. Both of her parents were raised Muslim, but she and her brothers were not.
+As a kid, she had a pet rock named Randy. She still has him in her apartment.

DAY 01
Paradise Island, Bahamas
Image

The sound of crushing waves can be heard in the distance as fourteen complete strangers stand before James Haynes, the host of Are You the One, with their new home behind them. This luxury villa will be their home for the next seven weeks as they go on a journey to find their perfect match. Seven men stand on the left side and seven women on the right. A few are already eyeing the opposites appraising each of them.

"Welcome everyone. You are all here for one thing, because you all have one thing in common: you suck at relationships." A few people laugh nervously, some shrug more or less agreeing, and others grit their teeth awkwardly. "Each one of you has been put through an extensive matchmaking process, using psychologists, compatibility tests, professional matchmakers, and information from your friends, families, and exes. Through this, we've been able to find an ideal match for each of you."

"Take a look at those across from you. One of them is your perfect match and it's up to you to find out who it is. You will have seven chances to pair up and find those seven, perfect matches. If you can do that, you'll leave the island with love and one more thing..." He pauses for dramatic effect, the contestants stare at him excitedly, "You will split the largest cash prize ever offered in MTV History. ONE MILLION DOLLARS!" The group cheers, pleased by this news. "Good luck!"

After finishing the show introduction, everyone moved inside the house. The sky was slowly moving into dusk so it was time to get the intros out of the way. Daniel lead the way, taking on the role of pack leader like he does with most things. While the house was gorgeous and he definitely appreciated it, he was more drawn to the bar hidden behind the staircase leading upstairs. 'Finally, my area of expertise.' He found an unopened bottle of champagne with fourteen glasses. He preferred something a lot stronger, but he can make do with this for now. "I found the alcohol everybody! Let's get this party started!" He began to pour drinks to anyone who held their glass out. He made his signature flirty eyes to a few of the girls before serving everyone.

Daniel raised his glass, "May we all find love or at least a good time! I look forward to getting to know all of you and I can't wait to find my match among these beautiful ladies. To being rich in love and rich with love." Daniel took a drink, finishing his toast. He ended up drinking the whole thing at once. A glass of champagne wouldn't have any effect on him so chugging the thing wouldn't hurt him.

~
Confessional
"I was laying it on thick when I gave that toast. I'm here to win the money. The girls in this house better not pull the whole, " He pauses, making his voice high pitched and valley girl sounding, "I like him, but he's not my match' thing, because I'm not losing 70K just because you felt something for the wrong person. If I find an awesome girl, great, but I won't have a hopeless romantic ruining this for me... God, I feel bad for the girl you've paired with me."
~

The toasting having ended, introductions among the contestants began. Daniel was right in the middle of it. Did he go over to the cute blonde he saw earlier? Or red hair? He could go to one of the three brunette girls or the two black haired ones. He decided on one of the brunettes. He thought he heard her name started with K. She was easily one of the hottest girls in the house and had the 'Head Bitch in Charge' look about her. He liked the difficult ones. They were the hardest to win over and most likely his type. Assholes tend to go with the bitchy girls so why not start there?

Daniel approached her, going straight for the hug. It was appropriate considering what this show was about and it didn't hurt to have some physical contact. "Hey! How ya doin'? I'm Daniel."

Joshua followed the rest of the men down the stairs and straight to the bar. The pack was led by one whom he wasn't too find of, Daniel. He had a pack leader quality that reminded him of the popular kids in high school, and this wasn't high school. Daniel had taken it upon himself to pop open the first bottle of champagne of the night and pour for those who extended their glasses, which Joshua did.

He took the opportunity to let his eyes scan the crowd. There were so many beautiful women and he wasn't sure who he wanted to approach first. His gaze lingered on a caramel skinned girl with very curly hair, trying to catch her eye. He thought her name was Franky but he would have to ask again after they - oh no, Daniel had decided to give a toast. This ought to be good.

"May we all find love or at least a good time! I look forward to getting to know all of you and I can't wait to find my match among these beautiful ladies. To being rich in love and rich with love." Daniel spoke, raising his glass. Josh followed suit but rolled his eyes a little bit at a speech he was fairly sure was bullshit.

~
Confessional:
"That guy is full of shit. I really hope none of the girls are falling for his show. He might be a great time at a party, but I don't see him being serious enough to have a full time relationship.
When things with him start to go down hill just remember that you heard it from me first."

Josh winks at the camera.
~

They all clinked their glasses together and Josh downed his in one swig. Finally, the theatrics were over and it was time to get down to business. He nudged the man next to him, Tony, and asked, "Who are you going after?" Tony was a good man as far as Josh could tell and he already considered him to be the best friend he'd made here thus far. He hoped there was a woman here who was good enough for the southern grown, traditional, gentleman that Tony was.

While he was waiting for a reply, Josh's eyes had found Franky again, but they had also glanced a girl named Gracie and another one named Gwyn. It was difficult to know who would be the smartest to approach first as they were all stunning. Since it was only the first night of many, though, he didn't figure it would matter too much whom he talked to and whom, if anyone, he hooked up with tonight. He turned back to the bar and got a shot of Jack Daniels. Within seconds it was gone and quickly replaced with a rocks glass full of Jameson, neat. He took a small sip and licked his lips, eye darting between the girls and wondering to himself if anyone was hoping he'd be the one to approach them.

Franky Gamal
{ Twenty-Five || #008080 || Orlando, FL || HERE }

Franky is pretty pumped, truth be told. When she signed up for this show, the young woman did so with the mindset of being open for just about anything, especially open to the idea of the cash prize. That being said, she's already been impressed by how much she likes a lot of the girls here- they aren't exactly what she imagined for a reality TV show. All gorgeous, of course, but otherwise. Then again, she wouldn't really imagine herself being on the typical reality TV show either. In fact, if you had suggested it to Franky when she was in college, she'd have laughed in your face. Now, she's doing it mainly as a laugh before starting her new job in Seattle. And looking around at everyone here, Franky certainly does not regret the decision. While she may not truly believe in a perfect match or anything like that, she sees plenty of people whom she wouldn't mind matching with for the night. The group naturally gravitates towards a well stocked bar. Bless, is the first thing that runs through her mind before making her way quite directly to the bar to see if they have something good. With the budget of this show, they must.

Before the young woman can pour herself a shot of some particularly nice looking tequila, (she's already found some salt and a pre-sliced lime, as Franky is a traditionalist about her tequila shots) some guy -she thinks his name might have been Daniel?- makes a toast. Franky can't help but let out a little snort when he refers to the women as 'beautiful ladies'.

---
Confessional
"I'm not saying I have a problem with this guy making a bogus toast. He's playing the game just like the rest of us, I totally respect that. But god, everytime I hear someone refer to a group as 'beautiful ladies' I imagine them as a skeevy host to some second rate beauty pageant or some shit like that. Oh, fuck, am I not supposed to swear? Shit. I mean- Oh, whatever, you'll censor it, won't ya?"
Franky flashes a toothy grin at the camera.
---

With a second thought, Franky pours a second tequila shot and scans the crowd for someone to take it with. Her eyes at first settle on Kat, a gorgeous fellow engineer with attitude for days that she certainly wouldn't mind having a bit of fun with, but the toast guy has already approached her. Franky isn't one to interrupt someone trying to shoot their shot, as long as both parties seem okay with it, so she looks around for another partner. Of course, her eyes then settle on Gwyn, and her expression visibly brightens back up. They have only barely met each other, and already Franky is convinced she has found her best friend in the lively musician. Franky walks up to her and extends a tequila shot.

"Are you ready to make some drunken mistakes in front of the entire country?" she half-jokes with a smile. While looking at Gwyn, she notices a guy with dark hair sitting at the bar scanning the group. When his eyes settle on her, she raises her eyebrows at him before winking and turning her full attention back to Gwyn.

Tony Rogers
{27~#006400~Colorado Springs, CO~Here}
Tony had been to many places, but never to a tropical location. It was certainly a big departure from Colorado. He had lived in Florida, but that was the Panhandle, not like Miami and if he was being honest with himself, he did prefer cooler weather and higher altitudes. Still he learned to adapted to new situations so he was pretty sure he would manage here. He did need to buy new closes though and his mother and one of his sisters helped him out in that area since he wasn't a fan of the activity. The place they were staying out was definitely fancy. His parents had their dream home now, but even it wasn't this big since his mother did not want to clean a big place. If by some chance he did win money at the end of this, he made a promise to himself to send his parents on a nice cruise. He did discuss it with his siblings and all were on board with the idea. If not, they already decided they would just do it anyway, but it would take longer.

Tony's mind was diverted to the present when their host talked about the game and it was then Tony started looking at the women. First one that did catch his eye was the blonde, but not not wanting to be rude he only glanced at her briefly before glancing at the other ladies. All of them were lovely, but this didn't surprise him. His mother watched these kinds of shows and he learned good-looking people always made it onto these shows. He didn't appreciate the host's comment about sucking at relationships. He knew he was good at relationships, he had been married and very dedicated to his late wife Emily. Thinking about her now still brought about some sadness, but he knew that his late wife would want him to be happy and he did want a family too, so he figured it wouldn't hurt to try this.

Confessional
"I honestly don't know what to expect in this kind of situation. I plan to take it as I go. Quick shout out to my family though, thanks for everything."

Once the host left, one of the guys took charge with passing out the drinks. Having seen the guys before the girls, Tony knew already this would be one of the 'party guys' and would have an extra eye on him. He himself wasn't a fan of wine, so grabbed a beer instead. Soon, one other guy joined him, one that Tony liked already.

"Who are you going after?"

"Well, the blonde initially caught my eye, but I plan on finding out more about these ladies before deciding who I am spending time with more."

He honestly didn't know what to do next though. This was a unique situation and he felt like a fish out of water at the moment.

Gwynivere Reid laughed and joined in on the fun. The Bahamas sun felt good on her skin and she longed for a book in her hands, sitting in the warm sand, enjoying the breeze, on this beautiful day. Yet, for some reason, the group decided on moving inside... Inside the monumental house, it was so dark compared to the outside, that Gwyn's vision struggled to adjust. Her gaze past from face to face, she exchanged little smiles, and friendly hellos. She felt a gust of wind against her back, sending her towards her inevitable humiliation.

One million dollars, she could still hear ringing in her ears. Gwyn couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Why was she doing this? She sat through interrogation after interrogation held by the MTV producers. She was convinced she was doing what was best for her career. While her sister approved ardently, Gwynivere's mother saw it as a cop-out. She scolded Gwyn all the way from North Carolina on the telephone. "You have no sympathy for my poor nerves," she'd say. There was a small part of Gwyn that agreed with her mother. It was a cop-out, and if she was worth her salt, she'd be able to boost her career through pure talent. But how could she sneeze at an opportunity like this. 70K richer, Mrs. Reid wouldn't be complaining.

Confessional ───────────────────────────────────────────────

"I'm certain this is the worst decision I've ever made, but I can't lie! I'm looking forward to it! As long as I'm not too far away from Franky, I'll probably be fine."

─────────────────────────────────────────────── Confessional

Once Gwynivere adjusted to the indoor lighting, she greeted her friend happily. The sunshine suited Franky, Gwynivere thought, and her colorful graphic t-shirt made Gwyn grin.
"Are you ready to make some drunken mistakes in front of the entire country?" Extended to her was shot glass full of what Gwyn could only assume was tequila. She readily accepted the glass and downed it. It burned, and she winced, but when she regained her composure, she laughed and said, "Now I am."

Gwyn caught Franky's wink, and couldn't help but search for the lucky man. Gwynivere grabbed her friend by the arm, and willfully strode towards the source of the wink. Joshua, was his name. "Unacceptable. Fraternizing with the enemy. What will I do with you?" She taunted Franky.

Gwyn didn't outright approach Josh, but they were near enough that a conversation could easily be started if Josh made the first move. Gwynivere glanced at the stranger, then back at her companion.
"He's cute!" Gwyn said softly.

In response to his question, Tony had offered an unsure, "Well, the blonde initially caught my eye, but I plan on finding out more about these ladies before deciding who I am spending time with more." Josh felt a bit sorry for him as he seemed so uncomfortable.

He patted him roughly on the shoulder and said, "Just don't think too much about it, you'll psyche yourself out. Have fun. It's only night one." As Josh spoke, he watched Franky catch his eye, smile, and wink. The girl she was talking to, Gwyn, seemed to notice too and dragged her closer, making it painfully obvious that she was setting Josh up to make his move. A laugh escaped his lips as he took another drink of his Jameson before holding the rest out to Tony, "Drink up, my man. I'm going in."

If he had been sober, walking up to a couple of giggling girls would have been difficult, but since he had a couple drinks in him, most of them hard liqour, he had an air of confidence about him. He had seen the two take shots of what he'd quessed were tequila based on the fact they'd sucked limes afterwars and quickly asked the bartender for two tequila sunrise, top shelf, and a Jack and Coke for himself.

Walking over, he passed Jake, another guy he'd befriended when the men had been getting to know each other. Josh offered him a wave as best as he could with his full hands. The alcohol was already making his head swim a bit and he had half a mind to stop and talk to Jake, as he was cute and he and Josh always had good conversations. However, this was a show about men and women finding themselves, and starting the show off by hooking up with a dude wasn't going to help his chances of finding a match. He shook the thought quickly and kept his march over to Gwyn and Franky.

"Ladies," Josh started, when he approached the women, holding out one hand in which he was balancing the two drinks he'd gotten for them. "I think you might need more than one shot to make it through tonight." He smirked, one corner of his mouth turning upwards. While he had offered both of them a drink, his eyes were currently on Franky, twinkling.

Conffesional

If we're being honest, I don't know which one of the ladies I'm more attracted to right now. A few of the men have caught my eye as well. That Jake is a looker. If he were my bedmate - shit, did I just say that?
Josh laughs nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
Sorry. I've had a few drinks. I - I didn't mean that. It's the alcohol.

He'd gotten through the whole process of getting onto the show. And yet it was only now, here, when he was standing among the group he'd be spending the next seven weeks with, that he was really regretting all of it. But he put on an excited face and let himself play along. There was a number of reasons the regret was starting to kick in. First of all, the fact that he was probably going to be known as "that guy from that MTV show" for the next few months of his life, and second of all, the fact that at that present moment, the guys seemed a lot more appealing to him than the girls. Sure, they were pretty. But all fourteen of them were. That was part of the reason they'd gotten that far. But none of them had that spark either.

Jake saw straight through the toast, but instead admired that confidence and drained his glass of champagne, before moving on to something stronger. He could already feel the alcohol buzzing through his veins, and he grinned. With a newfound confidence, he strode over to one of the guys that had caught his attention before, who was currently chatting up two girls. Resting an elbow on the man's shoulder, he gave them his best, superstar smile.

"Hi. I'm Jake, currently a drama student, but soon to be on Broadway,"

Confessional:

So, the trick is to give them an impressive fact, make it seem confident, but not boasting. So, "I'm gonna be on Broadway!" works a lot better than, "The production of Jesus Christ Superstar I was in got five stars in the New York Times." All about balance.

"So, come on, tell me some fun facts about ourselves. This is like our first day of class, right? Tell a class a fun fact about yourself!" He said, mocking one of his overly enthusiastic freshman tutors. She'd been a tad over the top. Which, in a drama school, was saying something.

Theo Davies
{ 22 || #800000 || Arlington, VA || Here }

For someone who doesn't really fancy drinking, this first night is quickly turning into a daunting prospect. But of course, Theo is used to being around drunk people whilst sober. He'll drink a little bit now and again, certainly, but far prefers to smoke or something like that for a good time. This being television, however, Theo isn't sure how easy it would be for him to find an alternative. So he hangs back a bit as the group begins to loosen up and interact, watching everyone with great interest. He figures that remaining sober will make observation of everyone more fun. It's already become apparent that the producers of this show have brought together a fairly lively group of people, which is to be expected. Theo's genuinely excited to meet everyone, but feels just a little nervous about approaching people right now. Everyone seems nice, of course, but he'd prefer his first impressions of everyone be the next morning. He doesn't want to space out or say the wrong thing to someone made extra sensitive by their drinks, and start off the next several weeks on the wrong foot.

---
Confession Booth
"Obviously I don't mind other people drinking, I just don't like it much myself. You don't think they'll think I'm being prudish, do you? Maybe I should have pretended to be ill. Rats."
---

Theo heads over to the bar, as though about to change his mind and grab a drink, but instead only goes for a can of cherry coke. If nothing else, there is some feeling of security in having this in his hand. Maybe if someone seems to think he's weird for not drinking, he'll claim to be on antibiotics. Theo hangs back on the bar, still watching everyone. He gets the impression his time meeting everyone will not start until tomorrow, as approaching people is something he's always had difficulty with. He's always been accustomed to people approaching him, or getting to be friends with people through classes or clubs or other people. Just straight up walking up to another person, however, is hardly the young man's forte. Already he is sort of zoning out, wondering about all of the people and making up little stories to fill in the gaps of the information that he already has about other people.

Theo takes a sip of his soda, half lost in thought and half hoping someone will come up and talk to him.

Franky Gamal
{ Twenty-Five || #008080 || Orlando, FL || HERE }

After the two girls take their shots, Franky bites down hard on her lime. She grins with the lime in her mouth, making a goofy bright green smile. It's the sort of things kids do with oranges around the lunchroom table in elementary school, but Franky is still making the same silly jokes. A citrus smile? That's just a classic. Franky's eyes widen with surprise when Gwyn grabs her arm and leads her across the room, but as soon as she figures out what is going on the girl's grin -sans lime- returns in full force. She winks at Gwyn, "Isn't that exactly what we're here to do? Fraternize? As far as I'm concerned, the only enemy here is boredom. And maybe you, if you hog the blankets tonight. That's me presenting my heart to you by the way- would you do me the honor of sharing covers tonight? Till morning do we part?"

Franky's hand is on her heart, and if she had brought a few more shots she'd be presenting it to Gwyn like a ring. For the moment, however, pantomiming a proposal with her hands will have to do. She pops back up to her feet to stand straight up when she notices Josh walking over, drinks in hand. She wastes no time taking the tequila sunrise out of his offering hand, "You come bearing gifts? And me, without my handkerchief to give you as a token of my gratitude."

Franky clinks her glasses against those of the other two people, without waiting for them to actually move their glasses from her, and takes a long drink from the tequila sunrise. It's turned out quite good, her compliments to the bartender.

As she finishes her drink, another guy approaches the group to give them nice, even numbers. Her first thought looking at Jake is that she really needs to get herself a leather jacket like his, because it is a really smart fit. When he introduces himself as a drama student and a soon to be Broadway actor, the pieces certainly fall together. She wonders if he got the jacket from a costume shop. Franky wonders further if it is one that she could somehow break into and raid for her own personal closet.

"Well, cheers to our Broadway baby, eh? It's been a long time since I've been in a class that made you introduce yourselves- they don't tend to push us lowly engineers to crawl out from underneath our rocks too often," the joke risks falling flat, a callback to her college days when she and her friends spent 30% of their time drinking, 40% of their time mocking other engineering majors, 15% sleeping, 10% avoiding work by eating, and 5% actually in class or working on class stuff.

"But I'll give it a whirl. My name is Farrah, no she isn't my main, you can call me Franky. I'm a drinker with a software development problem and I'll crush any of you at bowling any day of the week."

---
Confession Booth
"Okay yeah, that was more than one fact. But what can I say? I'm a cool person, there's a lot to know. Plus, I've worked hard for my perfect loft. Bowling throw, not an apartment. That too though."

Gwynivere feigned wiping away her loving tears at the proposal. "Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!" Gwyn half laughed through her acceptance. She wasn't as TV-dramatic as she wanted to be, but she thought she could at least give it her best shot! She wanted to be entertaining, and even though she wasn't willing to do just anything, she felt that Franky's company inspired her to be more playful and more spontaneous.

Suddenly, another drink was in her hand. Before she could decline, she realized Joshua had made his move. He paid Gwyn the respect of acknowledging her, but it wasn't hard to tell that he had eyes for Franky. What wasn't to like? Franky was a catch and a half, and Gwyn had learned that in the first few hours of their acquaintance. The rest was history... Sooner or later, Gwynivere knew Franky would get scooped up. Parting is such sweet sorrow, Wyn thought.

Franky clinked Gwyn's glass hastily, but Gwyn didn't drink just yet. She had taken a long look around the room. Josh had lost her interest not for any consequential reason other than his interest in her friend, but it wasn't long before another new stranger caught her eye. Jack. He looked intimidating. Tattoos cover him from head to toe and God knows where else. She held her full shot glass near her heart in a relaxed position, marveling at the sight of him. He was totally, absolutely gorgeous. Something blocked her view. It was Jake.

Jake had joined their little party. Gwynivere thought his introduction was odd and forward, but she shook it off and engaged in the conversation with the same consistent enthusiasm. By the time Gwyn was in the position to indulge in another look at Jack, he had gone. She felt a little put out. The conversation moved forward. She didn't want to admit how much she hated small talk, but after all, it was in the name of 70 grand. She would just have to grit her teeth and bear it.

Gwyn tried to be as eloquent as Franky, but after Franky took her turn, Gwyn said,
"I'm a sound engineer in Nashville. Not only do I combat out-of-phase waveforms, but I also write them!" She stopped. "That doesn't make any sense, I mean I write in-phase waveforms, that doesn't make any sense either, well I-- ...shit. What I'm trying to say is- ah, is I'm a songwriter." She cackled at herself. "I got there eventually! I'm not as coherent as Franky, apparently." As ridiculous as Gwynivere sounded, she had a good sense of humor when it came to humiliating herself. While it sucked to get tongue tied, she didn't mind stumbling over her sentences, it happens to everyone. Unfortunately, I doesn't happen to everyone on live television.

Oddly enough, Katherine did not feel out of place. She could tell that most of the other girls had been fairly nervous about meeting the men of the show but for Kat, she couldn’t have felt better. Not to mention she was getting a little bored of just talking to the others girls, although there were quite a few that she found actually interesting. Franky, for one. Badass and beautiful the two had easily fallen into a rather flirtatious friendship. Katherine knew that the show was rather heteronormal, but she was here to have fun right? No matter the party.

The first man that caught her eye was none other than the one making the toast. "May we all find love or at least a good time! I look forward to getting to know all of you and I can't wait to find my match among these beautiful ladies. To being rich in love and rich with love.” If she wasn’t trying to hold herself back she would’ve snorted in laughter, whoever he was she could tell he was full of shit. She knew because she was exactly the same. Katherine could not deny to herself, how attractive he was, she’d have to get to know him quite well.

Fortunately for her, he had decided the exact same thing.

Confession Booth:
β€œWould you look at that? I didn't even have to try. This might be easier than I thought.”

He took rather confident strides in her direction, and she locked eyes with him. There was nothing Katherine hated more than not being confident when it came to relationships. He instantly went in for a hug, which she returned, noticing the rather intoxicating scent of his cologne. ”Hey! How ya doin'? I'm Daniel.” Daniel. It suited him. She looked at him through her thick lashes, putting on a rather flirty smirk, after all what would be the point of the show if she didn’t at least try. ”Katherine. You can call me Kat, if you’d like.”
She grabbed a champagne flute off the table for herself, taking a rather careful sip. ”I’ll be better in about five minutes” She raised the flute slightly with a small wink. ”What about yourself? See anything that’s caught your eye yet?” She cocked her head slightly to the right, the right side of her lip tugging up in a smirk. She loved teasing men, sometimes it was funny watching them squirm under her gaze. With Daniel however, she felt it would be quite different, which intrigued her. She had met many men like him in the past, arrognat, flirty, confident, they were often the easiest to talk to, but the hardest to keep. She’d just have to see.

Sydney was a little nervous. It wasn’t everyday that your love life was broadcast blatantly on television. However, she refused to let herself get bogged down by the thought, after all it was first impressions and she planned on making a rather good one. The man making the toast, caught her eye slightly, he definitely was attractive, but she had to remind herself that she couldn’t just force herself to attach to someone head on and fall head first. After all, this is exactly why she decided to join the show in the first place, to challenge herself.

Everyone instantly seemed to know where to go and who to talk to, Syd did not. She felt rather lost as all of the other girls that she had befriended ventured off to meet the boys. She bounced slightly on her heels for a moment, taking a deep breath. She never had a problem to talking to people, let alone make friends, so she didn’t know why she was so nervous.

Confession Booth:
β€œThis is already going worse than I thought.
Who knew putting yourself out there was so hard -”

After a moment she noticed a younger man sitting at the bar by himself, drinking a cherry coke. She thought it was odd that he seemed to be the only one not indulging in the alcohol, which intrigued her even more. She took a deep breath, before pushing off in the direction of the bar, clearing her throat slightly. God, she was terribly awkward. ”Hi, is this seat taken?”
She gestured towards the, obviously empty, barstool next to him. ”I’m Sydney”. This was going to be harder than she thought.

Joshua Haggerty
{Twenty-Five - #194BF2 - Atlanta, Georgia - HERE}
The girls had taken the drinks almost immediately and started drinking. He followed suit by sipping on his Jack and Coke and almost choked when an arm came out of no where and rested its weight on his shoulder. Turning to see who owned the arm, he saw it was Jake and immediately didn't mind the physical contact. Then hated himself for not minding it. Josh didn't hook up with guys unless it was a drunken thing that came from playing a party game or being dared to. That was all it was. Party fun.

Jake's question did throw Josh for a bit of a loop, however. That wasn't exactly the approach he had been going for. The girls seemed to have bought into it, though, and were each offering up their answers. His eyes lingered on each of them as they spoke. Franky had such an energy about her, but it was an energy he figured he could only keep up with when he'd had a few drinks. On that note, he downed half his drink. Gwyn on the other hand - She was obviously still sober for the most part and was definitely more his speed when it came to socializing sober. His eyebrows shot up when she said she was a song writer and his fingers instinctively reached into his pocket and clamped around his weathered songbook. It had been a gift from his father before he had died and he kept it with him constantly, just incase a lyric every ran through his head during every day life.

~
Confessional:
I'm gonna be honest, the whole "stand up, say your name, and an interesting fact about yourself approach" was a little much. I mean, I was planning on just going in there and starting up a conversation. Shows how much I know, though. Damn that dude is a genious.
Josh starts to get out of his seat and then changes his mind, looking back at the producers behind the camera.
Where exactly did y'all put my guitar? - It's in the room? - Which room, there's like twelve of them, isn't there? - No, it's fine - I'll just grab it tomorrow. Thank you!
~

Pausing to make sure Gwyn was finished, he took a quick look around and then shrugged, running his fingers through his already touseled hair. Work was something he was good at talking about. "I'm Joshua - er, Josh. I'm the Assistant Producer at Soul Asylum Studios in Atlanta. His eyes flew to Gwyn, acknowledging that they were in the same line of business and thinking that it would be interesting to talk to her more about her work and how her studio is run tomorrow. He wanted to mention that he was a songwriter as well, but that would mean broadcasting his little book of lyrics all over television and he didn't think he was ready to open up the possible conversation about his father that could follow this early in the show and this intoxicated with alcohol. Instead, he offered up something he thought she might find exciting, We actually just did a cut with T.I. and Pharrell a couple weeks ago for some of their new - oh wait, I shouldn't have... No, their new stuff will be announced by the time this releases, nevermind. He chuckled and then continued his eyes boucing over to Franky, "And don't be too cocky about your bowling skills because I average 215. I'll challenge you anytime. I'm sure we could make some interesting bets." He winked.

This was true. When his friends back home had managed to get him away from the office they always began their nights by getting a tower of beer at their local bowling alley before hitting the clubs. Being friendly with the bartenders - and their tips - had its perks. Occasionally they would be offered free shots and would sometimes find that they hadn't been charged for one of their towers, one of which held 96 ounces of beer.

His thoughts wandered and as did his eyes. He noticed that they drink he'd brought Franky was empty and he was considering offering her a refill, but was too interested in what Gwyn would have to say back to the fact that they basically shared a career - oh, and Franky's witty comeback (because he was sure she would have one) to Josh's leading comment about the possible bets that could be made.

When Gwynivere knew Jack was no where in sight, she finished her drink and sat the glass down on the desk that was nearest where their small little gathering stood. She hadn't noticed Josh's reaction to her little show-and-tell, but Gwyn did feel his eyes glued to her when he got around to mentioning his own profession.

"I'm Joshua - er, Josh. I'm the Assistant Producer at Soul Asylum Studios in Atlanta." She was listening now.

Gwynivere was both excited and dismayed to have someone she could relate to on the grounds of her career. Excited, because she now had a new connection that could lead her to bigger and brighter places, but dismayed, because he was now someone she felt the need to impress.

Confessional ───────────────────────────────────────────────

"He's attractive, for sure. But a producer. What the hell am I going to do? I want to progress musically, but God, I didn't think I would be thrown into the fire this soon. Now, I can already feel this insane desire to impress him coming on. I don't want him getting any ideas. But then what's the point? What if he is my perfect match?

"Sometimes, I feel like producers are just the salesmen of music. They push people around, but who's really in control? The technician. That is, unless your job is being lorded over you."

─────────────────────────────────────────────── Confessional

She had to be resilient. This was for her career.
"We actually just did a cut with T.I. and Pharrell a couple weeks ago for some of their new - oh wait, I shouldn't have... No, their new stuff will be announced by the time this releases, nevermind."

Gwyn laughed,
Oof, you're in trouble now, she thought. There was something terribly charming about him, but they hadn't clicked yet. She couldn't yet feel a connection, other than a potentially toxic codependency, based on her need for success. It wasn't long before Josh's attention was back on Franky, and Gwyn relaxed. She exhaled softly.

"That's neat! I was the head tech on Lady Gaga's latest."

She got over herself. It wasn't as if their similar career paths meant they were enslaved by sudden matrimony! And what was wrong with a little conversation? Gwynivere casually crossed her arms and fidgeted with the excess material on the sleeve of her dress.

On hearing that Joshua was a producer, Jake's eyebrow arched. Even if he was in musical theatre, knowing a producer might just be useful. Just in case he ever wanted to do some solo stuff. But his accidental blunder just made Jake laugh. Even Jake had gotten better at keeping those kinds of secrets. And musical theatre and theatre news in general was significantly more low-key than T.I. and Pharrell, so the stakes were lower. Hearing that Gwyn was lead tech on some Lady Gaga just made Jake's eyebrow arch even more.

"Huh, haven't we a right little musical bunch here? Honestly, we could spark a spin off show. These campfire sing-a-longs are gonna be just so sweet," he remarked. "Franky, do you just do studio work? I've always wondered how it would work in a live show. Way more can go wrong, and that's just on stage. And Gwyn, maybe I can sing one of those songs for you at some point. Got the biggest vocal range out of anyone I know, so don't you worry about those high notes," he said with a wink.

Confessional:

Okay, yeah, maybe a little cocky. But it's just what I resort back to when I don't know what else to do. Which means, when you're meeting strangers, sometimes you have to be a little cocky.

He drained the end of his drink. "So, do you think we'll have like, dumbass talent shows and stuff? I'mma be honest, I never even really watched this show before I signed up," he admitted with a laugh. "Because if we do have shows, the four of us would kill it," he said with a laugh. "Can I get anyone more drinks? I'm getting a fresh one myself," he asked. He felt like getting a little bit drunk would be the best way to go. Who cared what happened as a result?

Franky watches as everyone else introduces themselves, a half smile still left on her face though she is now focusing on the others so the larger grin has faded. She laughs softly at Gwyn's comment about not being as coherent as she is and gently elbows the girl with a smile now coming back in full force. Truth be told, Franky certainly is capable of being completely incoherent- when she gets too excited she will speed through her words with such force that occasionally one will be left out on accident. Even worse, she has the tendency to mumble when she's tired. Thankfully this doesn't seem to come up too often, as Franky appears to be tapped into some vast reserve of energy. She claims that it can be linked to the borderline excessive amounts of soda she drinks during the work week, but there is no hard evidence to back this up.

Even Franky, who honestly isn't always great at just picking up on subtle changes, notices how Josh perks up a bit when Gwyn introduces herself as a studio tech and a songwriter. When he admits to being a producer at a studio in Atlanta, Franky's eyebrows shoot up. She glances between Gwyn and Josh, a conspiring sort of expression creeping onto her face. And once Franky has an idea in her head, it's difficult to shake her from it. Until evidence points otherwise, she will remain convinced that her track of thinking is in the right direction. The gears are turning, and to be honest this fact is painted across her ever-expressive face.

---
Confession
"Josh is pretty cute, but Gwyn is even cuter and I think I may have found the first match. I mean, c'mon- two cute music lovers who live in the south and clearly have the same endearing vibe about them? You guys are making this too easy," Franky gives the camera a smug look and crosses her arms as though she's just cracked the case.
---

Josh addresses Franky again, shaking her out of her deep thought. He and Gwyn has dropped music names like loose change in who they've been working with recently, and Franky had sort of mentally stepped back to let the two do their little dance. Interestingly, her face is more impressed when he drops his bowling average than it was when Gwyn and Josh talked about Lady Gaga, T.I., and Pharrell. "That's pretty good- but I think I can crack you. I don't know how down for bets you'll be though, I tend to like mine high stakes. Makes it more exciting, don't you think?" The wink following her statement is more habitual than deliberate.

Jake jumps back in to talk again after a period of silence on his part. Franky finds it kind of funny that the rest of the group is so musically inclined when she can't carry a note to save her life. When Jake accidentally assigns the studio tech gig to her rather than Gwyn, she is quick to correct him. "Ah, you have it twisted there- Gwyn is both songwriter and sound engineer and sugar and spice and everything nice. I mostly work in a cubicle doing things that might pose a risk of boring you to tears, to be frank." Most people tend to zone out if Franky goes too much into the details of her job, and she doesn't blame them. If you aren't interested, hearing about her cubicle day to day is probably about as fun as watching paint dry.

"I don't have a musical bone in my body, to be honest. I do, however, have very healthy liver and would love another drink. Y'know, got to keep it on its toes."

"That's neat! I was the head tech on Lady Gaga's latest." Gwyn replied to Josh and she pulled his attention right back to her. He was suddenly longing for a nice quite spot and his guitar, feeling as though she would be a good person to sit down and talk while plucking his guitar strings with. He smiled at her, opening his mouth to say something in response and completely turned upside down at the ways they could talk music and compare notes on the technology behind it, when Franky replied.

"That's pretty good- but I think I can crack you. I don't know how down for bets you'll be though, I tend to like mine high stakes. Makes it more exciting, don't you think?" Franky winked and Josh raised his eyebrows, allowing a small chuckle to escape his lips.

"I couldn't agree more. I'll bet the three - er, sorry Jake, the four - of us could have some fun, making high stake bets back and forth." Josh smirked, looking between the three that were standing around.

Jake then spoke about how the four of them would work well together, and Josh almost spit his drink out when he mentioned Franky doing studio work, outright choking when she corrected him.

"Ah, you have it twisted there- Gwyn is both songwriter and sound engineer and sugar and spice and everything nice. I mostly work in a cubicle doing things that might pose a risk of boring you to tears, to be frank. I don't have a musical bone in my body, to be honest."

~
Confessional:

I'm just itching for things to get interesting. Maybe a little bit more alcohol and-
Josh downed the rest of his drink, winking at the camera.
Then Jake made that comment about all of us forming a band or something and mixed up the girls' jobs. Poor guy. Hey, we can use the beach right?
~

Josh had confirmed that he too would like another drink, and while Jake had grabbed Franky when she'd accepted, he turned and held his hand out to Gwyn, offering to grab her a refill if she'd like. He raised his eyes to meet hers and smiled. "Anyone care to take a trip to the beach? It feels so nice outside."

Laughing out of second-hand embarrassment, Gwynivere's gaze cast downward. She refrained from looking at Jake. It seemed he was so focused on his appearances that he couldn't keep track of one girl from the other, how ridiculous.

but whatever. Not that I wouldn't want to be compared to a Goddess like Franky! What a babe. But at least he's giving me all the signals to steer clear of his ego. I wonder what's going through his head right now?

"Do I sound horribly judgmental? Shit. Sorry! When my mother sees this, she's going to find me (no matter where I am) and literally beat me with my own limbs. I kid you not, she has the craziest instincts. I bet she can already smell the sin from here."

─────────────────────────────────────────────── Confessional

While the others suggested betting, Gwynivere laughed and shook her head. Nothing about her was athletic. Don't get me wrong, I like to work out, she'd say. She just never had an interest in sports of any kind.

As Joshua offered Gwyn a drink, she declined it. It seemed like everyone was trying to get hammered tonight, and as much as she didn't want to seem like a prude, Gwyn was trying desperately to maintain some air of class. Even though she rolled her eyes, she was also trying to manufacture her image for their audience. Her image was definitely not some stupid drunk girl trying to sexually harass her male counterparts.

"Anyone care to take a trip to the beach? It feels so nice outside." Josh pointed out.

"Oh that sounds wonderful!" Gwyn looked at Franky as though she were asking for permission, when in reality, she was asking for her comapny. "Do you want to?"

Now this was an idea she could agree upon! Of course, she would go with him, but for Wyn, it was all a ploy to sit in the sand with a book and relax. She already had a hold of Franky's arm, ready at any moment to drag her upstairs so that they could change. Gwyn could already envision the little space in her suitcase where she had neatly placed her hat, her swimsuit, her sunglasses, and her current Crichton sci-fi thriller, Timeline.

It seems as though every time Franky's eyebrows settle back to their usual position, someone says something that sends them flying up again. This time it is Josh's comment that the group could make some very interesting bets on a game of bowling. This one certainly gets ideas fast, but as she grows tipsier Franky is more forgiving of such things. After all, on the first night people will be acting big to try and make a first impression and stand out, won't they? Anyway, she can never fault someone for wanting to make competitions interesting, being so fond of games and bets herself. In fact, perhaps the easiest way to draw Franky in is with a competition or game of some sort. That, or telling her she can't do something- reverse psychology tends to work frightfully well on the straightforward young woman.

Seeing the glance between Josh and Gwyn when the producer mentions wanting to go down to the beach. Franky's first instinct, truth be told, is to excuse herself away so that the musical duo and slink off to the beach together and spend the rest of the night discussing lyrics or singing to each other or whatever it is two musicians do when flirting with one another. Unfortunately, before Franky can make some sort of story up for why she really needs to be doing something on the other side of the room, and therefore do her best in the self designated role of wingman for the two, Gwyn addresses her.

"Do you want to?"

Franky can't deny Gwyn's clear request for company. She smiles indulgently, "If you want to, sure- should we take some drinks with us? A shot for every constellation we see?" The sun has set by now, such that it is dimly lit outside by the moon and the stars. If they are going to head outside, perhaps it would be a good idea to invite other people along as well. After all, this was supposed to be the first night to meet all of the guys and whatnot, but it seems as though everyone has already begun to clique up very securely, which will only slow down the process of finding everyone's match.

"Should we invite more of the group, then? Maybe play some volleyball by the light of the moon? Or we could play ride the bus? Paranoia? King's cup? I'm in the mood for games," the pace of her words has slowed down just a touch as she begins to get that sort of lightheaded feeling that alcohol provides. This only brings her down to the speed of everyone else, as otherwise Franky is quite the fast talker.

When Gwyn decline another drink, Josh looked down at his own and realized that it was probably time he stopped as well. He was doing very well considering how much he'd had, thanks to a big dinner he'd had beforehand, and it was probably smarter to not push his luck. He didn't miss the nervous way she had reached out immediately and grabbed Franky's hand, as though she were afraid he'd try something if they ended up at the beach alone. It made the corner of his mouth twerk upwards slightly.

Gwyn had asked Franky if she was wanting to go, to which the latter had suggested they bring more drinks. While drunk Josh was definitely in the mood to get the whole group involved in some sort of drinking game, the underlying sober Josh who had realized it needed to take a break from the alcohol was suddently wanting to just grab his guitar and sit by the water. "I think I'm actually just going to grab a bottle of water for right now, take a small break from the alcohol, but yeah we can totally take some stuff down there with us! I may be in the mood for more later." He walked back to the bar and grabbed four bottles, one for everyone in the group. They hadn't asked for one but if the drinking kept up, they'd definitely need some a little later.

As he offered Franky hers, she suggested inviting the rest of the house down. Josh was fine with this, except that when he looked around he saw that everyone seemed to have grouped up. Shrugging, he did the only thing he could think of to let everyone within ear shot know the plan and invite them to join in, he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted, "We're going to make a trip to the beach if anyone wants to come with!"

I can see it already. Drama.

As he looked around the room once more, seeing who had turned their heads at his words and who looked interested in joining them, his eyes landed on Gwyn momentarily. He was itching to take out his guitar and take it down with him, but he A) wasn't sure where it was at the moment and B) didn't know if everyone would find that annoying. Josh opened his mouth to ask, almost decided against it, and then did it anyways. "Should I bring my guitar? If I can find it that is..." He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. Half of his water bottle was already gone and he was beginning to lose that crazy confident feeling the alcohol had given him. His fingers automatically went to the safety blanket that was the tiny songbook in his pocket.
