One thing that most people find comforting about Shirou is his ability to never change who he is. Whether in body or mind, Shirou has never been any different now from when he was a kid. Always quiet, though not quite a wallflower Shirou has gained the nickname Ghost for having the ability to be almost anywhere and go completely unnoticed. He usually doesn't have much to say, unless talking about a subject that interests him. Possibly one of the most infuriating personality quirks is that he is an extreme pushover, and doesn't seem to even realize it. For the most part Shirou isn't all that complicated, his quite nature could suggest that he is shy but rather its more insecurity than anything else. He is self conscious at the best of times and at the worst he is downright self-hating. Of course when anything bad happens Shirou always blames himself for it. Which is kind of the number one reason he hate when things change.

Being Stubborn and Determined go hand in hand with Shirou to say that he never gives up. When he wants something hes going to go after it, and if he can't have it he will work at it until he can. However this makes him fearful of what will happen if he can't manage to achieve what he wants, and what will happen if he gets hurt in the process. But despite being afraid his reckless, and somewhat brash nature makes him seek it out anyways. Shirou can be incredibly hard to get along with just because of his quietness alone, which makes it all the more special when he actually makes a friend.

History:
Shirou grew up in a pretty normal home, though his somewhat overly religious parents were always a bit of a problem. They always pushed Shirou to do things that made him uncomfortable, and were just as emotionally abusive as they were physically. Though his parents often used the "we're the adults" excuse with him he began to understand that their home was not exactly as normal as he first thought. It wasn't long before he tried to extract himself from the situation and found himself living under his grandparents roof. They were different, kinder, and they gave Shirou the childhood he needed. But bad things often happen, and as such Shirou found himself one day living through an experience that would forever change his life. His grandparents house was broken in to one night while he was home alone, and it seemed that the robbers were unaware that Shirou had been home until he made his presence known. He was just a foolish kid then, and thought he could intimidate them to leave by waving a kitchen knife at them; but of course it didn't work. They wore masks but the thought of getting caught seemed to still linger in their minds as they decided that Shirou would need to be attacked to keep his mouth shut. They tried to knock him out, but Shirou fought wildly, striking out with the knife and cutting one of the two men. In retaliation the man cut him back, scarring him, and left him out cold on the kitchen floor.

By the time he made it to the hospital he had lost a lot of blood, but was in no danger of dying. His grandparents however were devastated by their loss. The men had taken so much stuff, and it had left a sizable dent in their funds. After the inclusion of Shirous hospital bill they found that they were almost completely broke, and could barely keep themselves afloat. Unfortunately a few months after the incident his grandfather passed away, and Shirou was made to live with his parents again.

It was during this time that he met his best friend, who had been the only person that managed to notice him for a long time. Shirou being his usual self was prickly at first but eventually warmed up to the idea of having someone to rely on as a friend. And after that he met the young love of his life, someone who Shirou knows he will never get over. Their relationship was painfully short, and Shirou was hurt by the fact that it was cut off so soon, and thus continues to try and win him back. Despite often getting hurt by doing so.
