Arranged Hearts

Arranged Hearts

0 INK

Six regions with six kingdoms. War is sure to break out...unless they ensure a peace treaty through marriage. Not just any marriage though; Arranged ones. Sons and daughters of the kingdoms are forced into marriage with eachother. Peace depends on it.

Introduction

The best way to ensure peace between kingdoms is through marriage. So, the sons and daughters of the leaders to these kingdoms are forced their hand in marriage to another, who like them, is forced by their parents. There are six kingdoms in this realm, and none of them really get along or like each other in the first place. Each of these kingdoms have their own abilities and species, greatly distinguishing them from each other.

As each kingdom is on the brink of war, the sons and daughters, or princes and princesses, if you will, are packed up and sent away to a castle that lies between each kingdom. It belongs to none of them, and considered their 'safe' place. There, they meet others and their 'spouse to be'. Forcing two people to marry when they haven't even met isn't a very appealing idea, especially since they've been taught to hate each other for their differences. Love isn't exactly a necessity to their kingdoms, since this is their only chance at peace. Friendships form, hatred grows, and some fall in love with hose they vowed to always hate.

A little bit of an explanation of all of these-

Sirens:
Sirens are a beautiful species that have the ability to manipulate water and ice. No, they cannot manipulate the weather in any way. Just water and ice. They are very cunning and seductive by nature, usually very stubborn.

Vampires:
These vampires don't burst into flames in the sun, nor do they sparkle. They can go out in the sun, though it isn't exactly the most comfortable feeling in the world. Their senses are heightened, and they have faster reflexes, can move quicker, have more strength, and are very appealing to the eye, like most supernatural beings. They are predators of the night. The older they are, the stronger and more experienced they are. They can survive off animal blood, and don't have to feed more than once every few days. They can only be killed by being staked with a piece of wood in the heart. No chopping off the head or burning of the body is required. Royal vampires are known as the Bloods. They tend to be more powerful, and carry a lot of influence over the other vampires. Bloods have the ability to compel others into doing what they wish, though it doesn't always work on everyone.

Witches and Wizards:
These witches don't fly off into the night cackling and holding onto their broomsticks. They don't wear black pointy hats and have warts on their noses. Well, most of them don't anyway. The wizards don't wear weird robes with wands and pointy blue hats with stars on them. They look just like normal, but extraordinarily beautiful. They all carry witchcraft in their blood. Like most abilities, it is a curse and a blessing. From birth, they are taught magic and spells. There seems to be no limit to their abilities, since they can just cast a spell at any moment, but if they cast too many, it can be harmful to them and those around them. They are masters at what they do, far exceeding any other kingdom in magic and potions.

Fire Magic:
These mages are gifted with fiery attitudes and abilities. They have the power to wield fire, both creating it and manipulating it. They are also familiar with spells and curses, but they can only preform them when fire is involved. Like the other's, they are very attractive in physical features.

White Magic:
The Angels are stunning, caring creatures. They use their abilities for good, mostly. Their white magic has the abilities to heal people or things, and in some cases, bring someone back to life. They can also cast spells to protect people, to bless them, and heal them.

Black Magic:
Also known as fallen angels, these creatures have a dark, sadistic appeal to them. They usually use their magic for their own gain, and tend to be on the arrogant side, save a few of them. They have the ability to manipulate shadows, able to travel through them as long as they are connected, and change them into physical, snaking tendrils. Some have a greater affinity for it than other's. They power differs. Their magic consists of causing pain to others, coming to them in nightmares, and so on.

Time Period:
The time period is some-what modern. This takes place on a whole other world, but it has much of the same styles as modern day today. So the clothing is pretty much the same, and the technology is about the same also.

Arcadia stepped out of the car and onto the cobblestone drive that lead up to the enormous castle before her. Her grey-blue eyes slid across the view before her, taking it in for the first time. It took her breath away, it was so beautiful. Sure, she'd seen gorgeous palaces before, her home was beautiful as well, but this was breathtaking. Greenery surrounded the isolated castle, only accenting it's age. The building seemed to be well over a few centuries old, perhaps older than she was. She took in a deep breath of fresh air, resisting the urge to whip out her sketchbook and capture the area's beauty right then and there. She pushed a hand through her wavy, waist length hair and turned to face her brother, Axel as he stepped out of the car behind her.

"Well, at least it's a nice place." She shrugged a shoulder, a small smirk dancing across her lips. The journey to their 'new home' had been a relaxing one. She and Axel had always been close, and they were comfortable in each other's company. Instead of travelling separately, like their father had suggested, they took the same vehicle. She and Axel started down the long drive, having told the driver they preferred to walk to the front rather than be dropped at the doors. Someone would be out to take care of their bags.

"It's not the place I was curious about. It was the people within it, Cadi" Axel replied, his clear blue eyes trailing across the building. Arcadia replied with a small shrug and glanced over her shoulder, letting out a short whistle. Cheveyo, her beautiful Siberian Husky, jumped out of the open car door and trotted after them, his tail whooshing about proudly. When they finally reached the large doubled front doors, butlers pulled them open and bowed politely. Arcadia bit back a grimace, having always hated it when people bowed or curtsied at her. She would have to get used to that here, since she had told the staff back home repeatedly to not do that, and to call her by her real name. Just because she was a princess didn't mean she wasn't human.

"Prince and Princess Nyx. Welcome to the castle of Rysdan. We have been told to request that you make your way to the dinning hall. There, you will meet the other residents." One of them spoke and they bowed again, then stood at attention.

"Thank you." Axel replied flatly, then took his sister's elbow, guiding her in the direction the butlers had pointed them in. He pushed a hand through his feathery black hair, mussing it up a bit as his pale eyes scanned the art work on the walls. He had to admit, it was a pretty impressive place, but that wasn't what they were here for. His sister was muttering about how the help should loosen up a bit and he sighed, keeping an eye out so they knew they were heading in the right direction. No, he couldn't say he was...happy to be here, but he didn't have much of a choice in the matter, and neither did Arcadia. He couldn't imagine who could possibly be excited for this idea of an arranged, loveless marriage. He and Arcadia would have to deal with it though.

"Prince Atri," the chauffeur pulled up into the large cul-de-sac in front of the castle. "We have arrived." He slid the barrier dividing him and the royal prince. Valefor Atri lay with his head against the window, his eyes closed. He had fallen asleep on the long drive, his iPod lying on the seat next to him. The driver couldn't exactly hear what was going on, as he pulled to a stop further away from the door. He stepped out, heading to the back seat where he reached in and gently shook the prince. "Prince..."

Vale stirred, expertly covering up a yawn as he reached over, fumbling to turn off his iPod. "Are we at Rysdan?" he asked, blinking his pale blue gaze. He sat up, his lean body moving easily in the suit jacket. He slipped out of the car, looking up at the castle with a critical eye. He turned to his driver. "This is Rysdan?" he murmured, his voice almost...disapproving.

"Yes Prince." His chauffeur almost smiled wryly. Except there was something in the way Vale was scanning the castle that made him hold his tongue. "Prince, shall I have the servants bring Belphagor or would you like to keep him with you?"

"Bel can stay with me," Vale murmured, turning back towards the car and picking up his messenger bag. The small head of a black cat stuck his head out. A dark purple ribbon with a small bell on it tinkled as Bel purred, seeing Vale's face again. Vale smiled slightly, before he stretched and headed into the castle. He kept his messenger bag with him. Besides his cat, it also held his laptop. Vale couldn't decide which one was heavier. Both were pretty light, but then again, Vale was strong.

Once Vale got inside - he had taken a separate car from his sister, who knew where she was by now... - he was greeted by several butlers.

How interesting, Vale noted ironically. Even here, I am treated like a prince.

Vale looked around, wanting to explore the place. But that seemed out of the question as the butlers directed him towards a room. "The other residents should arrive shortly," the butler that had directed him to the living room said as he bowed, leaving Vale in front of the wide double doors. He paused, wondering if he should open them. Then he sighed and did just that.

Aloysius Caesar wanted to get out of the car. Anything, anything at all - all he wanted was to be free. Sighing, the prince collapsed back against the leather interior of the vehicle driving him to this godforsaken castle in the middle of nowhere. And his family expected him to be interested in some arranged marriage. He grumbled softly, before he turned the page of his book, committing another spell to memory.

He glanced out the window again at the flashing scenery, before the car slowed down.

"Pardon, but it seems as though we are not the first ones here," his driver sighed. "I can only hope that you will not be perceived as lazy and forgetful."

"It's fine Claude," Aloysius nodded graciously. "I would rather not be the first one. And if there are any questions about your skill as a driver, I will surely deter them with a flashy magic trick." As if to prove his point, Aloysius whipped out his coin. He let it dance between his fingers as the driver pulled the car up to the front door.

Aloysius stepped out, stretching. He fixed his glasses and as the driver went around to the back, Aloysius allowed himself one excited grin.

Certainly this experience would be very entertaining.

"Go on Prince," Claude nodded at him. "I will bring your bags up shortly."

Aloysius turned, brushing imaginary dust off his shirt. "If you're sure Claude," he frowned, as though he didn't want the driver to do all the work. "I mean, I can probably bring them up myself."

"No, no! What kind of first impression would that set off? You want to impress the other kingdoms," Claude looked distressed.

Aloysius laughed. "Whatever you say, Claude~" he turned and headed up the steps, hands in the pockets of his jeans.

The car rattled along the bumpy road. Gripping the side of the cars dark leather seats nausea resided in Allaysa's gut. The driver was quiet, she came early, unlike her brother, her parents sent her early, they knew she would try everything in her power to evade her duties. Slowly, the car slowed to a stop, taking in the scenery she slowly stepped from the car into the blazing sun letting it heat itself on her bare shoulders, illuminating her slightly tanned skin. "Hello, Princess Allaysa I presume." The men held the doors open for her letting the cool air from inside the palace race across her skin that was becoming wet with nervous sweat. Allaysa nodded keeping her chin up as if she was balancing an ball on it, trying to keep it from falling. Another man stepped from the left side inside the palace, his pale skin radiating in the golden sun.
"Princess, I shall escort you to the dining hall, as you are the first to arrive you might be alone for a short period of time-" Allaysa cut him off abruptly.
"Just take me there," Her voice was almost a growl as a disappointing grimace spread over her face. She was of few words, in accordance he walked ahead of her a few steps down the halls. The floors were covered with white marble and on the walls hung pictures of previous rulers from different kingdoms, she shuttered at the last one, which was a vampire. The butler took her into the dining hall, the clear table sitting in the middle was long, spreading the length of the room, she took a seat in the squeaky chair in the far corner. 'I hate being the first to arrive,' Allaysa molten eyes darted around the room, studying each individual feature of the arch ways and the curve of the vaulted ceiling. 'It's nothing like home...' Her fingers rapidly tapped on the long glass table, she did not know how long she could wait before leaving the room through the shadows and exploring the rest of Rysdan. The leather chair stuck her indigo dress to her clammy skin and her breaths began shortening when she heard the voices outside of the room. Leaning forward pushing her hair waterfall of hair into her eyes and sliding the chair to the corner of the room, away from the light that poured into the window overlooking the vast green landscape of cascading waterfalls and lush rolling hills. The shadowy corner offered her some protection from the new intruders, she could escape if she had to. The small wooden stake pendant hung around her neck pressing into her skin, the thought of vampires sickened her. The least these people who chose her spouse could do was save her from being hitched to a foul beast that constantly wanted to sink his sharp pearly teeth into her pristine neck. She pulled her chin back up and pushed the chair back to the table, her posture erect and controlling, no one, not even a vampire, could scare her now.

"I'll just get out here." Zeke nodded and smiled as the driver pulled to a stop. "Have a safe ride home Darrell." The driver, Darrell, smiled back as he stepped out holding the door open for the prince.
"We shall miss you Prince, you are truly a joy. We hope all goes accordingly." With a curt appropriate smile he stood to the side, allowing Zelekos to step out into the broad daylight.
"So! This is home." He filled his lungs with the clean air sending an exhilarating rush through his body. 'Now.. to do what I came here to do..' The cobblestones crunched under his feet as the palace doors came into sight, their height alone was exciting, the men to the side opened the doors; a smile escaped his lips. "Good day my gentlemen."
"Prince Zelekos. It is a pleasure." Both men said in unison, their monotone voices drifted in the lingering breeze.
"Where am I off to?" The man behind the door stepped into sight as Zeke followed him down the long hallways, towards the dining hall, towards his new fate.

Abbadon leaned forward in the back seat of the Limousine or whatever ridiculous name was thrown upon the oversized box with wheels. Truly having wings made vehicles rather uncomfortable, he had to sit forward for most of the ride to avoid harming his pearly wings. For the hundredth time he questioned his decision making, perhaps it would have been better to simply fly there… enjoy the last free moments before he was chained down to a lesser woman of a lesser race, but appearances mean much.

“Sir, we are approaching the castle” the driver spoke back, and Abbadon maneuvered himself over to the window, rolling it down and gazing at the high ramparts.

Abbadon muttered under his breath making sure to keep it from earshot of his esteemed driver “Truly a two bit castle, but can’t expect them to be able to compare to the glory of our own buildings” The car rolled to a stop, and Abbadon opened the door stepping out, although not without some considerable effort as he had to wedge himself out so he didn’t get his wings caught. He did not want help as he wasn’t a baby, and he was a soldier not a royal pup.

The butlers rushed to his side almost as if they were appalled that he could do without their help, and the leader of the butler band bowed “My Lord, do you need assistance?”

Abbadon waved them off with a kind politician smile “I can manage, but thank you anyways”

He finally stood straight, free from the confines of the box. He let his pearly, flawless wings stretch out behind him. It felt so free and rejuvenating. He lifted his arms and stretched, letting out a long overdue groan. Walking to the back; he opened the trunk and pulled out his suitcase carrying it easily in his left hand. He did not like having servants fuss over him, and his suitcase contents where meant only for his eyes alone. Looking up at the wall and tracing the stones with his eyes, he briefly wondered when his sister would show up, but in the meantime the least he can do is drop off his stuff, so closing the trunk he made his way to the door and was presented with another challenge… getting through the tight door with his large wings and he let out a soft sigh. “They could have at least anticipated this…”

"We're totally lost, little bro." Arcadia teased with a smirk, her tone light and filled with amusement as she looked up at her brother. He seemed older; At least, physically he did. He had been leading them down the hallways blindly, not stopping to ask any butlers which way the dining hall was. For a while, Arcadia had decided not to mention anything about it, because her little brother in a very rare, confused state was actually quite amusing. "Chev could find the dining hall better than you could." She teased farther, Cheveyo's ears twitching and his glorious tail flicking at the sound of his name. His miss-matched puppy dog eyes flicked between Arcadia and Axel, almost as though he knew what was going on. Axel flicked her a glance that would normally freeze people in their places, but her smirk only widened, completely un-phased by his glare. He sure was a little grumpy.

Arcadia sighed as her brother led them down another hallway with large double doors at the end. They were cracked open, and she could smell the scent of others. She absently ran her tongue over her pearly white retracted fangs out of slightly nervous habit as they neared the door. Her blue-jay colored eyes lifted to rest on Axel, wondering what her brother was thinking about all of this. He was a master at concealing his feelings, as well as she was. Sometimes she just wished she could reach into his mind and listen for a while. Cheveyo wandered a little bit ahead of them, reaching the door first. He nudged it open with his black nose, taking a large whiff. He obediently looked back at Arcadia, awaiting her orders. Whether he should stay where he was or go explore. She shook her head and he back up a little, waiting patiently. The dog was her companion and best friend. Their communication far exceeded that of some regular people.

She stopped outside the door as they reached it and turned to look up at her brother. He was over a foot taller than she was, so she had to tilt her head back a little to look him in the eyes, like she had to do for most people she talked with because of her small, 5' stature. "Ready?" She whispered to him, then clasped the locket that hung around her neck on a silky black ribbon for a moment before turning and walking through the doors.

xXxXxXx

Axel watched as his sister whisked into the room, followed by her faithful dog. He sighed and pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose for a few moments. He didn't want to be here, but on the other hand he was glad so he could watch out for his sister. Though she was intelligent and knew what she was doing, she often got herself into trouble. And she didn't care. He opened his stormy blue eyes and walked in after her, hands pushed into the pockets of his faded and ripped jeans. He could feel the tension in the room, strung out like a rubber band. In time, it would surely snap on someone. The only people he saw though, was a girl with coffee colored hair, and a tall guy with black hair and a messenger bag. There was something black sticking out of it, and with a second glance, Axel saw it to be a cat.

As soon as he caught sight of the cat, he heard Chev give out a low growl. Arcadia silenced him immediately with one soft whisper of his name, and Axel was proud of her skills with her dog. He leaned against the wall and folded his arms across his broad chest, his gaze sliding around the room. It was fairly large room, almost completely taken over by the gigantic table that spread across the length of it. It was a deep mahogany color, with dozens of chairs settled around it. He doubted they would all need that may chairs, but then again, this was a palace. There was always extra things that weren't needed at all. He absently mussed up his hair a bit, studying the room with calm calculation.

Vale looked up from observing a painting hung over the mantle when the door opened again. His eyes lit upon the two strangers, as Bel crawled up his arm and sat down on his shoulder. The sound of a growl echoed out, followed by a sharp shush. Bel stood up on his toes, arching his back, a small hiss raining from between his sharp teeth.

Vale reached a hand up, absentmindedly tapping the cat in between the ears, fingers just barely brushing against the soft, velvety fur. Bel hissed again, before turning and rubbing against Vale's clean-shaven cheek. The fallen angel didn't say anything, as his eyes went from the tall male to the petite female, then down to the husky.

He curled his lip almost derisively, before turning back to look at the painting again. His suit jacket fit around his shoulders comfortably, moving with his every movement as he started walking around the room, looking at the other artifacts. He didn't want to talk to them - they weren't like him.

Bel was small enough to stay put on his shoulder, and stay on his shoulder the cat did, although Bel never took his eyes off the husky. Vale didn't try to reprimand the small cat again. He played with the idea of pulling out his iPod or his laptop, but then decided against it. Who knew if any of these strangers were thieves. If they saw something he owned and they liked, Vale had no shadow of a doubt that it would be gone by morning.

He moved to sit down next to his sister, before he turned to the strangers and nodded a greeting. Civility was at least required, even if affection was not. Vale was not going to tell the world that he was a barbarian simply because he could not overcome hatred among the kingdoms. They were in this together, however cheesy that sounded.

Aloysius was lost. The magician had found himself wandering down the hallway the butlers had directed him to in the first place. But at the end wasn't the dining room - it seemed to be the library. The brunet had slipped in, pale blue eyes going wide behind his black glasses. Books upon books upon books. Aloysius drew his breath in, as he wandered deeper into the abyss of knowledge.

He wanted to crack each one open, read each one, but he knew he couldn't. He tapped two fingers against his lower lip, before sighing in defeat and heading back out the doors into the hallway. He had to go to the dining room and if he wasn't there, well, wasn't he letting down his kingdom? Besides, he would be giving up the opportunity to learn about his housemates and future wife before actually having to commit.

He hummed softly to himself, running a hand through his hair before shaking his head and letting each hair fall back into place. He pulled out a piece of paper, frowning as he tried to recall the spell for making a map. He grinned when he remembered it. "Da partem circino date," he murmured softly, running his finger over the blank page. Immediately, a floor plan of the castle started to be drawn. Once Aloysius saw the dining room, he nodded and slipped the map into his pocket.

He headed towards the right direction, finally arriving. The door was already open and he could see shadowy figures already inside from his angle. There were no voices, no sounds coming from behind the door so he just assumed an awkward silence. Nonetheless, he put on his stately prince expression, before walking into the room and looking around at the inhabitants.

Two hung by the door - they were obviously related. Aloysius didn't need magic to tell him that.

Another pair sat the table. Again, Aloysius knew they were siblings. Briefly, he wondered where his own sister was - she should have arrived by now. He shrugged it off. Genevieve could handle herself.

There were several others, but Aloysius cast them no bother before sitting down at the table.

"Nothing to do but wait, I suppose," he said out loud, wanting to break the silence that hung, heady and practically touchable, in the room.

Allaysa had to try her hardest not to jump from her chair and attempt to kill the foul beasts sitting across from her. The blonde girls hair teased her, taunting her to end a life. She filled her lungs with cool air, calculating everyone's movement, still keeping her chin up. 'Foul....' The door creaked again and Vale walked in; Allaysa's heart pounded in her chest, now that he was here, whatever she needed to do, she would have support. Though, her brother and her lack to be biological family, Vale has always taken care of her, teaching her when she defied her tutors incessant unimportant lessons. A heart stopping smile slowly carved around her lips as she made eye contact with the only person in the room she could trust.

Another boy walked in shortly after, shaman for sure. There was no mistaking it, though to others it might not seem as obvious. He broke the silence, but still Allaysa would not be the one to reply, ever. Especially to someone who has no real powers of their own like the boy in the glasses, he had to learn his powers. Yes, to her there is a difference. Vale sat next to her, her clammy skin slowly calming down, it did not reveal any sign of anxiety, she looked back to the door as another boy walked in. 'Sirens.. disgusting.'

----------
Zeke smiled and marched through the door gracefully and proud as he came to a room already semi filled. "Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you all, I'm Zelekos." He flashed a smile allowing his charm to exude from every pore. In one quick movement he swiped his hair from his eyes letting his deep blue eyes carefully glance into all of the eyes looking back at him. The girl in the corner with the coffee hair that fell in her face looked like she smelled something, he figured she was probably arrogant, like most fallen angles, and just to irk her, he crossed the room, taking the seat parallel to hers. "Hello! Princess? What is your name?" She didn't reply. Rather a disapproving stare. The negativity of her sunk into the marrow of his bones. "What about you?" Zeke turned to the black hair boy next to her, obviously they were related somehow, it seems that she wouldn't accept just anyone sitting next to her. "Does anyone in here speak?" He huffed nonchalantly and placed himself in the seat three down from the silent girl, giving his sister Gwenevere a place to sit. 'Where is she?'

Arcadia decided to stay standing, her azure eyes resting on the girl with the coffee colored hair. Arcadia was already annoyed with everyone in the room, besides Axel. Not because she immediately hated them for where they came from, but because they hated each other because of where they came from. The girl was staring at her with murder in her eyes, but Arcadia wasn't interested. The girl seemed to hate vampires, shown by the wooden stake hanging from her neck. She shouldn't be surprised that other's hated them for various reasons, since most of the royals were arrogant. That was one thing she was not. She was anything but that, because she had been raised differently.

She sighed softly and stayed back, watching as the girl turned her nose up at everyone who came in. Whether it was the siren boy or the shaman one who had just entered. Arcadia's calm gaze flicked over each face, taking in their appearance. Of course, everyone here would be wildly stunning. That's just the way things were. Chev sat at her side, both his blue eye and his green eye fixed on the cat that sat upon one of the men's shoulders. She noted he was probably from Ténèbres, as well as the girl who already seemed to hate her without knowing her name. She returned his slight nod with one of her own, but her expression remained the same. Practically emotionless, save the small spark of amusement that glinted in her heavily lashed blue eyes.

She walked over to the large window at the end of the room and looked out at the view, crossing her arms over her flat stomach. The scenery was amazing, and she decided she could get used to this place. Not because the people in it, but because it was going to be great to capture on paper. Her fingers were already aching from the desire to sketch, and she suddenly wished she had her pad and a pencil with her. There was a small window seat built into the wall next to the window and she took a seat, leaning back against the wall. She drew her slender legs up to her chest and sighed softly as Chev sat next to the seat. She stroked his soft fur and scratched behind his ears gently, letting her mind wander. She briefly wondered which man in the room she was supposed to be betrothed to. She then wished she could just get out of this hate-filled room and explore the place for a bit.

Axel watched silently as the scene unfolded before him. A few people had walked in since he had been here, and no one had really spoken back to either of them. He could already tell the girl with the coffee hair hated he and his sister, and well, everyone else that happened to enter the room, save the guy with the cat. The only reason she probably didn't hate his was because he was the girl's brother. At that moment, Axel felt bad for the guy, having to be related to someone so outwardly judging and prejudice.

"Does anyone in here speak?" One of the guys, Zelekos, asked as he took a seat a little ways down from the girl who had refused to respond to him. He seemed to be the Siren prince, and pretty outgoing. Normally, Axel would just remain silent until directly spoken to, just because that was the way he was. He wasn't a big conversationalist in meeting someone new. But, they were all to be living with each other for who knows how long, so he decided to suck it up.

"Axel Nyx. That's my sister, Arcadia." He introduced himself and his sister, making a gesture towards her as she turned and waved politely. "It seems like everyone here is to good to be talking to someone out of their race." He added, but didn't flick a glance in anyone's direction. He stayed where he was, his stormy eyes rested on Zelekos.

Zelekos grinned. "It is a pleasure. Though, it seems as we shall be here for quite some time, I can only assume we will be required to get to know each other, starting now, I do not see the harm in introductions," he paused for a moment letting his gaze drift back over to the anti-social creature whose arrogant looks only pleased him more, "Princess."

"My name, is Allaysa Valent." Her voice was confident and controlled, just like every politicians, though Zelekos had not expected it to be so quiet. Her words rolled like venom, thick and poisonous. Triumphantly he smiled. Once of the girls had walked to the windows, it seemed as if her thoughts were lost in the lush scenery on the other side of the thick protective glass.

"What is your name Princess?" Zelekos stood and made his way to the window standing a safe distance from from her. "You and your brother seem the least judgmental in this crowd, perhaps we shall not hate each other, but what we come from instead. Do you agree?" Soft interrogation drifted in his words, though not threatening more curious. He took in her beauty, vampires had a way of being beautiful in the ugliest of situations, this being one. Though, everyone in this room was beautiful in some way, looks for sure. He glanced back at Allaysa her thin frame sat erect pushing her chest out; a small smirk glazed over her face. He thought, of them all, fallen angels would be the the least pleasurable to look at, but the arrogant girl proved him wrong.

-----

Allaysa could feel the vampire girl's eyes burning on her luminous skin, whether or not the girl liked her, Allaysa did not care. Her hand reached over softly petting Bel's velvety fur. One of the boys, Axel, mentioned something about being to good to talk to anyone, so she slowly spewed her name carelessly. Allaysa knew she was to good to be talking to any of them. Zelekos walked to the vampire girl by the window asking her a few questions. 'I'll have to suck in my pride soon... this is for my kingdom.. my kingdom.'

Aloysius looked between everybody, before he sighed. "Alas, what royals we are," he lamented. He looked at the male who had walked in. Zelekos? Sirens and their strange names.

"Aloysius Caesar," the shaman prince resisted the urge to sweep an elegant leg at the Siren prince. More curious than ever, he surveyed the prince from behind his glasses.

He walked over to the table, running his finger along the wooden surface, his eyes focused on his movements, before he spun around. He pushed his glasses further up his nose, looking at everybody in the room already. "We're all in this now," he spread his hands, knowing for a fact that everybody in here was probably resisting the urge to strangle him.

But Aloysius could handle himself. He already had the spells on the tip of his tongue, as he whipped out some cards. "Perhaps a little magic show will put everybody at ease?" he smiled lightly, gaze alighting upon each individual. A lot could be learned from simple expressions in people's faces.

He knew his parents would disapprove of him showing off trade secrets.

What trade secrets? They were simply flashy hand tricks. No magic...okay, maybe a little magic to make the card invisible or make the card show something different than what it actually was. But most of it was Aloysius and his dexterous fingers.

He put the cards away, seeing that nobody seemed interested. He sighed softly, before pulling out his coin and making it dance between his fingers. He wandered over to the window, leaving behind the awkward silence. He stood, coin still flipping and flashing through his talented digits. He didn't say anything else. They would all come around, he decided.

And when they did, he'd be the one waiting in the shadows, waiting to pounce and suck all their secrets out, leaving them dry. A dry smirk crossed his face, as he paused the coin, hand reaching up to touch one of the heavy velvet curtains. The coin resumed.

"So you do talk," Vale's voice was smooth, as he looked at the other inhabitants of the room. He stood up, moving to stand behind his sister. Bel had moved back into the messenger bag and fallen asleep. "I was afraid the other kingdoms had sent mute royals." His pale gaze flashed dangerously, even though his tone was playful...joking. "Valefor Atri. And the bad-tempered one is my sister, Allaysa Valent." Again, his tone remained joking.

He looked at Aloysius when the shaman offered to put on a magic show. A few moments passed, and Aloysius gave up, moving to stand next to the window. Vale was sure the tension in the room was thick enough to be cut through with a knife. He did a swift head count. There were still people left to come, the fallen angel noted.

He looked down at Allaysa. "Play nice Aysa," he murmured. "We're going to be here for a while and I can't have you killing the others before we make the alliances." His eyes remained expressionless, as he rested a hand on her shoulder, comforting and calming her.

Allasya's smiled at her brothers jokes, she knew he understood that truly she was not a bad person, she wasn't full of anger or hatred, she had had bad past experiences, ones that kept her on her toes. "I'd like to see a trick." She averted her eyes to the shaman boy. "Aloysius." She said his name with a hint of acceptance, though it tore at her throat. His deep blue eyes were mysterious, if she had the choice she would look into them for a while, counting the vibrant colors, but this was not the place for that. Out of all the kingdoms, she disliked Shamans the least; Allaysa thought she could possibly befriend him. Her molten honey colored eyes grazed over his face, his thick black glasses only added to his appearance and brushed his chocolaty hair. "Go on." A smile escaped her lips. She assumed Vale knew she was only charming him so she would have one less person despising her. She still head her head up, but more in a friendly manner, a manner she only let people she trusted see, though the only one she trusted had just placed his hand on her shoulder.

---

Zelekos turned his attention to Allaysa her words escaped her lips in a singular breath on a whim and a pearly white smile had captured his attention. 'So she will not speak to me, but the Shaman boy with the strange name? curious.' He glanced around wondering if he would soon be paired with the captivating shadow girl or the vampire girl lost in the beautiful nature that stood in silence outside of the palace.

Abbadon was rather proud of his ability to maneuver through the door. He could have retraced his wings, but he had no intention of doing that. An Angels wings were everything; he would not hide them or put them away for sake of convenience. He had asked a passing by servant of where the room he was meant to stay in was, and they had kindly pointed the way.

He listened to his gentle footsteps as he made his way down the hallway letting his mind wander. He wondered if Rina had arrived… He had no real desire to speak to the others as it would be a pointless waste of his time, and he had no desire to get within 10 feet of a fallen.

He stopped at the door the servant had said and gently pushed it open. The room was rather basic with a desk in the corner, a large window with a balcony that opened up to a rather pretty scenery, a chair situation in front of a slow burning fire, and finally the large bed with black covers and far too many pillows for his taste.

The Angel moved to the balcony letting his hands rest on the rail, the night air fresh and cool. A servant entered his room, and stood at the door.
“My lord, would you like to join the others” the servant inquired?

“Is Rina here yet?” Abbadon replied not looking back, intent to stare at the wondrous great moon.

The servant was mildly confused “Rina? Aww your sister” he said relieved to understand what he was saying “No, My Lord… she has not arrived yet.”

Abbadon nodded quietly slightly sad that Rina had not yet arrived. He hadn’t seen her in a couple of weeks as he had only gotten news of the marriages a short while ago, and he was in the field and had been in the field for over a month. Now it seems a temporary ceasefire had been called, he said temporary cause only a good would say it was permanent.

“Than no, I do not wish to entertain others, inform me when Rina arrives.” He had a slight ordering tone underlining his voice, but it was a habit he earned from his years with the army. The servant left, and Abbadon was only slightly aware of the servants footsteps leaving as he was far to occupied with his thoughts.

Gwenevere smirked, knowing she would be one of the last to arrive. With a flick of her hand, she unrolled the window and stuck her head out. One last time, she pulled moisture from the air and froze the tires in place, causing the limo to stop abruptly. She heard an exasperated sigh from the front of the car and unfroze the tires quickly.
"Really Gwenevere?" Her driver, Damien, asked her for the fifth time this trip.
"I'm sorry Damien. You know I don't like people too much." Gwen spoke, her tone lacking the usual coldness.
Another sigh escaped Damien's lips as he got the car moving again. With her window rolled down, Gwen could see Rysdan up ahead. Leaning back, she rolled her window up and waited for the car to arrive at Rysdan. The car slowed and finally came to a stop. With a sigh, Gwen looked up at Damien, a grimace covering her features.
"Must I?" She questioned sadly.
"Play nice Gwen." Damien said, a smirk covering his features.
"Not likely." She shot back half-heartedly. She could hear Damien chuckle as she took a moment to plaster a mask of cold indifference on her face. She took a deep breath before opening the door and stepping out. She moved quickly and watched as a man opened the door. She saw him open his mouth as if to say something but cut him off with an icy tone, "Just take me where I must go." The man looked taken-aback but nodded, calling over a servant to direct her to the dining hall. Before stepping inside she remembered something. A long, low whistle escaped her lips and she looked bck at the car. A smile threatened to cross her features as a mass of brown, white and black fur blted from the car, running towards her at full speed. Gwen leaned down to take a knee just as the mass of fur reached her. The force of the dog slamming into her chest would have knocked anyone with less strength than her to their back. She buried her face into the dogs fur, allowing a smile to flicker across her face before fixing it into the same cold indifferent mask. She pulled her face away and stood up, letting the dog slide to the floor. She nodded to the servant that had been called to lead her to the dining hall. She followed behind the servant closely, the dog at her side constantly. The servant seemed to know his way around and they arrive at the dining hall door soon. She turned and nodded to the servant before looking down at the dog. The dog gave a small yip before licking Gwen's exposed leg. Something flickered within Gwen eyes before she forced it do disappear. With a deep breath she walked into the room, the dog following closely. Without speaking, she walked to the table and sat down. She dog sat down obediently at her feet and licked at her toes. A giggled threatened to escape but she quickly covered it with a cough. Reaching down, she stroked the dog in between his ears and he stopped licking. "Good Aslan." She murmured quietly, the words only loud enough for the dog to hear.

Zelekos was happy to see his sister, her pretty face always comforted him and the memories of them playing in the massive fields behind their palace flooded his memory. Seeing her all grown up tugged on his heart, she wasn't a baby any more, but whoever married her better treat her well, or they would be sorry. He stood behind her placing his hands on her shoulders leaning down to her ear, "Say hello Gwen." He leaned down and patted Aslan's head, "Hello my dear friend."

Slowly he stood back up and walked over to the window returning to the vampire girl whose name still remained unknown to him.

------

The new girl walked in, just like the loud boy, she was a siren, her hair was pretty, short, but shiny illuminating itself in the bright sunlight pouring through the window. Allaysa still had her eyes on the quirky shaman boy who still resided by the velvet curtain twirling a coin through his fingers, only pausing for a moment to feel the soft fabric on his fingers, she watched him as he walked over and the way the pretty coin danced totally in control over his knuckles. Her eyes darted towards Vale who still stood close to her, she smiled giving him a hopeful look, he had seemed to have better composure than she did. 'I wonder if the angels will be able to tell my why I fell.... hm..' The cool table she rested her fingertips on gleamed, the polish reflected her appearance, only assuring her that she still looked flawless. Her thoughts drifted, wondering, if her new partner resided in the room right now.

Arcadia tore her gaze from the window, her azure eyes sliding up to meet the man's ocean blue ones. She studied him quietly for a moment, taking in his dark hair and pale skin. She noticed the pretty girl who had just walked in was his sister, though they looked almost nothing alike. She stuck her hand out to shake his politely, a shadow up a smile gracing the corners of her lips.

"I'm Arcadia." She replied, her voice light and polite. "No, I don't agree. I don't see the point in even hating where we come from." She added, shrugging a small shoulder. "It's a waste of energy." She flicked a glance around the room, thinking. She didn't understand how people could be this...bitter, when it wasn't even their choice in where they came from or what history had brought their regions. She also never understood why people hated a whole race because someone from that race had caused them problems in the past. But, that's the way things were, and sadly that's the way their minds worked. A hand trailed up and clasped the locket around her neck for a few moments, her mind wandering briefly.

Axel watched everyone from where he was standing, his stormy gaze travelling over to the new girl that had just walked in. She must be the Siren princess, he thought. His eyes slid over her for a moment, resting on her face. She was beautiful, but that was expected from all of the royals. Though she attracted him in a different way; he wasn't sure how. She didn't strike him as arrogant, but more...confident and collected. He folded his arms across his broad chest, pulling his gaze away from her so he didn't stare. He wondered when they would find out who they would be stuck with and how long they would be here. He pushed himself away from the wall and walked around, looking at the paintings around the room.

Zelekos took her hand shaking it gently. Somewhere in this room, could be his beautiful mistress's killer. "I agree, and though, I have been raised to hate every fiber in your blood, it seems we have the same beliefs. I propose you and I defy what we have been told to do, and become allies in this crazy situation." He raised one eyebrow, proposing a fantastic idea for a new ally to her, someone who would have her back other than her family. Allaysa scoffed at this offer, it sounded as if she was about to choke on her own arrogance, and somehow, she seemed less beautiful. He turned to face the crowd, not everyone had arrived, but his speech would be short. "We all need to defy what we have been told." He cleared his throat, staring into the faces of the people gathered in various spots in the room, "whether this is merely a job for you," He made eye contact with Allaysa, "Or you are truly intrigued with the opportunity to finally bring peace between our quarreling nations, we all must suck up our pride, hatred, and pasts and get along, for our," he emphasized the word our, "kingdoms." The whole speech stood true to him as well, though, he would never get over his past. "That is all." He turned back to Arcadia as she clenched her locket in her hand, and gave her an approving smile.

The car jerked to a stop, causing an irritable Serefina to awaken. Rei smirked as she groaned.

"We have arrived. I'll get your things from the back." Alexander, their driver, opened the door and strode around to the trunk. His tone was short, and Rei chuckled. It hadn't been easy wrestling Serefina in to the vehicle.

She had thrown a fit back at the palace, and set the original limousine on fire. After about 2 hours of yelling, kicking, and punching, Serefina was finally thrown unceremoniously into the car. Now, Rei gazed at his sister who was squinting in the midday light filtering in through the window. Rei sighed and opened his door.

"C'mon Sara. We're here. You might as well attempt to look regal," he said, stepping out onto the gravel driveway. Serefina laughed within the car.

"Fat chance. I could care less about what these fools make of me," she replied, stretching. It was true, she had made no effort to look like a princess. She was wearing a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a red tank-top. Her hair was sticking up every which way, and she was covered in dust and dirt from the struggle this morning.

Stepping out of the car, Serefina scoffed. She gazed at the massive stone structure incredulously.

"They expect me to live here? The architect must've had no imagination whatsoever. This so called castle looks like a block." Her nose scrunched up in distaste. Rei rolled his eyes.

"Well, we're going to have to live here... Can't you just run a hand through your hair or something? You look like you recently survived a tornado," Rei laughed. Serefina stuck out her tongue at her burly brother. She waltzed over and grabbed her suitcase. Rei took his own items out and closed the trunk of the car. Immediately, the driver pulled away. Rei guessed he didn't want to risk witnessing another fit from Serefina.

The brother and sister stood in the bright sunlit driveway, staring up at the castle. Rei wondered whether the others had arrived yet. Serefina, on the other hand, was watching the sky for Devlin. She spotted the bird, soaring through the air. Smiling, Serefina held out her arm. Instantly, the bird flew downwards. His fiery plumage was stunning in the afternoon light, and Serefina beamed. She loved her pheonix.

Devlin lightly landed on her leather-sheathed arm, gazing at her with intelligent coal-black eyes. He began to preen his feathers. Unlike Serefina, he liked to look his best. Rei sighed, gazing at his unkept and unruly sister.

"We'd better get a move on. We're probably late as it is." Rei strode over to the doors of the castle. Serefina groaned and followed her brother.

"I'd better not be stuck with an angel, Rei. I swear, those bird-brains think they're all high and mighty..." Serefina grumbled, as they approached the servants. The doormen tried to hide their shock at the Fire princess's appearance.

"Um, uh-" the first man stammered. Serefina glared.

"Where the hell do we go?" Yet again taken aback, the doorman could only point. Serefina walked briskly down the hall, her boots leaving dusty foot-prints on the stone floor. Rei looked to the doorman, apologized, and asked again where they were supposed to be.

"The Dining Room, Sir. Is she-?" Rei cut him off.

"Yes. You'd better brace yourself, she can be..." Rei watched as Serefina marched down the hall, "troublesome." The doorman looked nervous. Rei shrugged and ran after Serefina, leaving his luggage at the door. Hopefully someone would take it to his room.

"Hey! Wait up," he called. Serefina looked over her shoulder and raised an eyebrow.

"You are so slow, brother. You'd better get it together, or before you know it, one of these royal bastards-" Rei shushed his sister, frowning.

"Sara. Please, keep some composure!" he whispered, looking around nervously. They were here to keep peace, not start a war. Serefina snorted.

"Who said I had any to begin with?" With that, the girl was off again. Devlin was still perched on her arm, his ruby feathers shimmering. Up ahead was a large door.

"I'm assuming this is the Dining Room... Serefina, listen to me. This is a very delicate political matter. You can't just barge in and-" Too late. Serefina threw open the double doors and snapped her fingers. Flames leapt up around her as she strode into the dining room. The fire crackled and hissed, but didn't burn her. Her face was illuminated by the orange glow, the light throwing shadows over the sharp planes of her cheeks. She grinned as Devlin let out an ear-splitting screech.

Cackling, she pulled out a chair from the mahogany table. The flames disappeared as soon as she sat down. She leaned back casually, smirking.

"Serefina Gavin. Now, who the Hell are you?" she said, staring intently at the other people in the room. Rei flushed, and cleared his throat a bit.

Well, I can't say I didn't see this coming, he thought.

Rei looked at the other royals. He spotted the vampires first. Something about them was a dead giveaway, but Rei couldn't place it. His eyes glided over the princes and princesses seated at the table. Fallen angels, sirens... Over in the corner, Rei spotted a shaman. The room was silent, and Rei realized he was still standing in the doorway. He cleared his throat again and sat next to his sister.

"Ah, yes. I'm Rei Gavin. Pleasure to meet you all." He shot apologetic glances to the others. He did the best he could, but Serefina was a wild card. He just wished she hadn't choose to set herself on fire. That was bit too theatrical for his liking.

Allaysa tried not to laugh at the fire princess. It was hard to hold her composure, but she managed, biting her tongue as she theatrically entered the room, not looking like an arrogant princess, but a drama queen. Her slightly bronzed hand covered her mouth and she began coughing trying to prevent a giggle to sneak from her lips. The girls blonde hair shot up in every direction like someone had electrocuted her. Allaysa contemplated the idea of being dramatic like the girl had, consuming the room in shadows, separating all royals from each other, putting disturbing images in their minds that would haunt them until the day they died. No, she decided against it, sure being antisocial wasn't what a princess should be, but in comparison to herself this girl was ridiculous; Serafina Gavin belonged more in a mental institution, better yet, day care. With every ounce of strength in Allasya's body she tried to say her name, but it came out in giggles, instead of politely, so she shut her mouth and sat back in the chair, reassuming her regal stance.

"Hello! Nice entrance by the way, very theatrical, loved it!" Zelekos gave a heart splitting smile, "I am Zelekos Ahrysin, from the Kingdom of Sirens." His eyes drifted to the phoenix sitting on the girls arm, "beautiful creatures I must say, they seem to not enjoy sirens though, magnificent nonetheless." His placid eyes turned to the boy that followed her in. "What is your name? I presume you two are related." Slowly he stepped around the phoenix into the chair across from the fire wielder girl, resting his hands on the table.

Bel hissed when the bright lights from the flames penetrated his comfortable darkness inside Vale's messenger bag. Vale put a comforting hand on the bag, as he turned to look at the Fire Princess. How easy it would be to take her shadow away while she was doing that...

But Vale decided against it.

It seemed much of the tension was broken - his sister was laughing and the Siren prince seemed all too eager to get to know everybody.

Vale's eyes left the fire royals, settling instead on the vampire seated next to the window. Briefly he wondered what she held in her hand. What could be so important that she had to hide it? Then again...Vale reached up, making sure his ring was still around his neck. His messenger bag stirred, shaking him from his reverie as Bel crawled out and onto his lap.

The small cat yawned, stretching and nearly clawing Vale's thighs to shreds as he kneaded the prince's lap. "Bel..." Vale sighed, before moving the black cat onto the table. Bel's attention immediately snapped to the phoenix. His back arched.

Vale turned his attention back to the group - Bel would calm down soon enough.

Aloysius nodded at Serafina. "What a grand entrance!" he applauded softly, peering out at the princess from behind his glasses. "My name is Aloysius Caesar," he smirked. "Shaman."

He didn't proceed any further than that, choosing instead, to sit down at the table. It seemed right. He pulled out his coin again, holding his hand out, lost in his own world as he inspected the coin. He flipped it into the air, muttering a few words under his breath at the same time.

The coin hung, suspended by invisible threads.

Abbadon lowered his head staring down on the dark ground far beneath his balcony. Again he wondered what was taking Rina so long… it wasn’t like her to keep others waiting. She was far too considerate for that. Letting out a tired sigh, the suit he was wearing had gotten slightly rumpled in the ride there, and he always hated imperfection.

Turning quietly, he entered the hallway and managed to grab a servant “Has my sister arrived?” the servant shook her head “No, My Lord, but all of the others have gathered.. in the Dining room” Abbadon nodded and dismissed the servant.

Seems he had no choice but to enter alone… he had hoped he could see Rina first as she was always better with the… lesser races than he. She had a kinder heart that had not seen what he had, so she was more forgiving.

He made his way to the dining room relatively easily as it was hard to miss. He paused in front of the door, checking over his suit making sure it was as well as could be expected. He was the prince of the angels, and it was his duty to represent his people, and he always took duty seriously. Lifting his chin, he squared his shoulders and pushed the door open revealing to him the occupants in the room.

He bowed his head slightly “Abbadon Uriel. I apologize for my and my sisters absence.”

He straightened his neck once again peering down at the others… and the first impression he had was how childish they all looked, children playing at being adults every one of them. The fire princess, a ball of fire, covered in dirt, and her hair a mess truly a sad excuse for a princess but if that was how her people wanted to be viewed than he had no problem obliging.

He turned his head taking in the others. The two fallen ones hit him as obvious due to their stench, and he had to fight the initial reflex to attack them. It was not a conscious hate angels had for fallen it was instinctual. He continued his sweep of the room taking in the glasses boy playing with a coin… and they called themselves royalty… was dignity truly lost?

He let his gaze rest for a second on the fallen princess… he was relieved to see that at least one of the royals at least acted as they were and although she was a fallen she was already above the rest in his eyes.

All these thoughts danced deep within his mind, his face not revealing an ounce of his thought. He had spent centuries in the Royal Court, playing politics and hiding ones true feelings was the first thing you mastered.

Allaysa still tried to control her laughter, but soon it became easy as her eyes followed the shiny coin that danced through mid air, her eyes lingered on his hands, she did not care if anyone noticed that she was enthralled by the simple trick. After the grande entrance courtesy of Serefina the tension all but slightly hung in the air, more so plain silence than foul auras. "How do you do that?" She looked to Aloysius. "Is it easy?" She quietly murmured so only he could hear letting the shadows of the room carry her soft voice that was almost dreamy in the silence. She felt like a child, being amused by such silly things, but she would put her best foot forward, though talking so much made her quite uncomfortable.

A caramel colored lock of hair fell from being tucked behind her ear into her line of sight obscuring the fluid movement of the coin over his fingers, gracefully she slid it back into place then adjusted her dark indigo dress that hung tightly to her body showing off her model like physique. She glanced back to Serefina, her ripped skinny jeans were not right for the situation and automatically assumed that Serefina's people must be very upset such a wild child was to rule them. Her gaze turned back to Aloysius, out of all the people in the room, he interested her the most, his mysterious smirks made her want to know what he was thinking.

Allaysa glanced at the now opening door as an angel introduced himself, his eyes lingered on her for a moment. Angels and fallen had never gotten along, though, most fallen angels remember why they were not in the majestic kingdom anymore, Allaysa did not, nor did anyone, her best chance at finding out was the new man, Abbadon, she was glad to see someone had also dressed appropriately besides her, she nodded to him in approval, questions lingering in her eyes.

"Hello Abbadon, I am Zelekos." He fixed his suspender strap before offering his hand to the man. Zelekos noted the man's disapproving glances at everyone, he noticed the pause on Allaysa and the semi approving look he gave her.

Vale looked at the angel and immediately, he felt a wave of disgust. He sat up, ramrod straight, his eyes turning to glare at said heavenly being. He clenched his hand into a fist. Bel, sensing his master's distress, turned his attention to the angel as well. His dark eyes flashed dangerously, before Vale unceremoniously put the cat back in his messenger bag.

He looked at Abbadon, his eyes narrowed.

"Valefor Atri," he replied, his voice firm and strong. "Fallen."

He was not afraid of his heritage. He was not ashamed of what he had done to have his wings ripped out and to be thrown from the graces above. Vale could feel the V-shaped scar on his back tingle in the angel's presence. Yet he was not afraid. This much was obvious in his steady gaze. He noticed the wings again on the angel's back.

How classy, Vale thought with just a tad bit more of venom than he expected. Showing off your huge, glorious wings....

Vale knew exactly why he had fallen from the heavens. It was a tale he would recount on a day when he felt like recounting it.

Aloysius felt the angel's disapproving gaze settle on him. The shaman really couldn't care any less. Nonetheless, he let the coin drop, catching it before it hit the table. "Someone's got a stick up their--" Aloysius didn't complete his muttered sentence as the fallen angel across the table shot him a stern look. The shaman laughed it off, before leaning back in his chair.

He didn't want to play the part of the perfect prince anymore.

He was here to learn about the other races.

'Angels. Pricks if I ever knew one,' he thought, making a mental note to add that observation to his notebook.

There isn't anything to talk about. You know I don't mean harm. I really don't mean anything at all. If we both understand what's going on. It's pretty clear we'll get along... I don't bite, but you can't believe it.
