❝Patience and time do more than strength or passion.❞ ~ Jean de La Fontaine

Their horses trotted side by side, both riding side saddle due to their outfits. The sun had just begun to peak over a violet mountain head of them, but the sun glare was only minimal. They travelled on an average size dirt road, though calling it a road was an overstatement. It was really more of a path, one that had been worn and widened over the years. Both Princess were familiar with the land, well enough to know where to go. Gwen still felt a bit sleepy, and her gaze lay in the distance lazily. Her shoulders slumped a bit, the very idea of war and conflict made her a bit tired. Her body didn't fight the rocking the horse made as it walked, so she lulled from side to side like a boat sitting on the water. Alless she propped upright, her lower back at a constant arch, shoulders back and sitting tall and proud. She liked excitement, but also the relaxing journeys on horses.
It had been awhile since she had seen Prince Galaxy, or anyone else for that matter, and social events had a feeling about them that Alless enjoyed no matter the reason of the gathering. She liked to have fun, in anyway that was available to her. Dancing, drinking, just talking. She was easy enough to entertain, and made herself amused easily enough. Sometimes she found it difficult to entertain people like Gwen for long periods of time, mainly because Gwen's attention could be easily lost. If what you were doing didn't involve her enough or didn't interest her, Gwen usually stared off into space about more fascinating things. Alless longed to be able to see what Gwen could, the captivation in Gwen's eyes made it seem as if she were looking into a whole other world no one could touch.
Growing up Alless had rarely had much of a childhood, and she lacked greatly in the imagination department. She wasn't one to "play pretend", because nothing she did was much of a game. When she lies or acts it's for a reason, an ulterior motive, and usually it's the only way she knows how to get what she wants.
Alless glanced at Gwen now, who's hair lit up like glossy silk in the sun. The long locks fell down around her, the blonde looking nice against the light blue dress she wore. The dress was mostly loose, only fit to her body at the waist and bust. The sleeves hung down slightly below her arms, and the skirt of the dress looked elegantly heavy. There was no fluffiness about the dress, it did not puff out like an umbrella as many princess dresses do. Of course if it did they wouldn't be riding horses. Her own dress was different from Gwen's. It was still fancy and lovely yes, the detail on it sparkled as any princess's would, but it was tighter fitting, and showed off more of Alless's figure.
As they reached a fork in the road, Gwen mentioned that a servant of hers had informed her about the meeting for the neutrals, and suggested she go there instead, rather than feel useless at the kings meeting. Alless reluctantly agreed, she didn't like much to be alone.

Gwen snapped the reins of her horse, picking up the pace slightly. It might've been easier taking a carriage or something but she enjoyed this more than she would've in a box like situation. She was nearing Vincent's castle, so the nature around her became more forest-like and full of more life. She liked the trees, and the green grass. And when the wind blew gently she could smell ever so slightly the hint of flowers.
As a child in her castle her parents were always unsure about letting her roam about the grounds. Built up on a large hill, it could be dangerous. She spent most of her time by the window just watching, mostly the waterfalls pound into the large pool below. When she was a bit older, they'd let many servants accompany her down the path of the rocky hill into the gardens of wild flowers. She absolutely loved flowers, and the servants would venture off to each find her a different one, while she layed in the grass and imagined the shapes of clouds.
Many times she wished she could go father than just the gardens, hoping to see more, for she read enough about adventure and exploring, but dared not ask her parents. They were too protective of their little Gwen, an only child, so she spent most of her time dreaming of things to make up for it. Her parents had often tried having more children, but it hadn't worked out. A couple ended in miscarriage, some never worked, and the one who died at birth also took her mother.
It was about midday now, and Vincent's castle came into view. It was large with bridges and towers, its style much more modern than hers, but still had an old money feel about it. It was slightly Gothic in the large square parts, as well as the thin pointy towers. It was very beautiful and as she neared the entrance she almost completely missed the servant trying to help her off her horse. She'd been admiring the castle so much that he startled her when he spoke.
She jumped a little and turned to his voice, then laughed lightly as he apologized. "No need sir," she told the man, "the fault was mine." He helped her off her horse and lead it away, as another servant guided her into the castle.
The doors to the meeting room opened to reveal the three already present sat down, and a bellowing voice to introduce her.
"Announcing her highness, Princess of Sagittarius."
She lifted the sides of her dress in order to give a small curtsy, then gracefully took a seat among the others.

It didn't take long for Alless to reach the Galaxy castle, it wasn't her first time nor was it the last. She hopped off her horse long before a servant came to take it to a stable, mainly because she was tired of sitting on it. She held the reins and lead it up the way, holding her dress up with her other hand as to avoid getting it too dirty. The Prince kept the castle grounds fairly polished, or rather his servants did. She doubted he even knew about the state of cleanliness the outside of his castle was. Not that it really mattered anyway.
A servant did escort her inside the castle, another leading her horse away. As she walked through the large halls her shoes made echoes. Occasionally she'd stop to ask the servant about a painting or two, easily taking her time though she was a bit late.
The doors to the throne room were opened for her, which she was always grateful for considering she didn't like to touch doorknobs or handles. As she entered she could feel the slight tension in the room between the three guests and Prince Galaxy already. See realized the king was not here, nor would he be anytime soon. She smiled what could be considered her signature smile, mischievous but charming. Only the one corner of her mouth turned up slightly, but a slight eye brow raise and the lighting up of her eyes all came together.
She ignored the attention, or more of fed off of it. Considering the three other guests were all looking towards Prince Galaxy, they must be waiting for his answer. She took this as a good time to go greet him.
"Your majesty," she mused, "pleasure to see you again." she curtsied slightly and held out her hand for him to kiss it. She then turned to the others, nodding to them as a greeting.

Prince Galaxy

Sebastian frowned when listening his guests. Before he got time to answer, Alless approached him. Sebastian took her hand and and kissed it. ”Ah, Princess Aquarius. I'm so glad your on my side, darling.”

He turned towards others. ”First of all, no. My father didn't tell me his plans. We all assumed he's coming back in time but as you can see he's not here. Secondly. Taurus.” he rose up and walked next to the table and hit his fist on it. ”I'm not guilty! I was set up. It all was Queens plan. I did nothing!”

He closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. ”My apologies.” he said after while and his charming smile returned to his face. ”But I'm well aware that you're not here to help me. It's because of my father you're here. At least three of you thinks that I actually did something. But the truth is that I was invited there. I went there, of course, but before anything happened, I was thrown out of the castle. ”

Sebastian walked to the window. ”Princess Libra, I forgive your bluntess but I'm not going to be in charge of this war. It's not my job.”

Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn

Prince Darcy kept his eyes focused on his folded hands while listening to the Princesses speak. Princess Libra took the words right out of his mouth. There is that initiative which he holds respect for. She's still inexperienced, but she has character. And Darcy muses that the Kingdom of Libra couldn't have gone on for five years without proper ruling, so he should really trust Sophia more. It's difficult for him, however, because although he relates reliability with success, he also relates it to experience. It takes more than just lessons and rules to know how to have your people flourish. But her maturity for the subject had impressed him quite, nonetheless.

Eyes still focused on his hands, he listened to Amira intently. Her speaking voice had brought up several memories from his past. Her voice was just like her mother's: soothing and soft like silk. He remembers when he would visit along with his siblings. Often his older and youngest brother would go wild, whittling away at Amira's patience. He can't remember if they've ever set her off, but he's seen her come close.

Darcy coughed quietly, masking the slight chuckle the memory had elicit.

He still can't quite be sure why Amira's mother had them visit often. His older brother had always said it was for "special reasons." Darcy assumes that marriage was the plan, but he doubts it. His brother is seven years older than the two- why would her mother want that to happen with Amira? Darcy remembers the time he expressed this to his older brother. When told, he laughed.

Princess Aquarius arrived at the meeting, and as she walked in, Darcy's eyes followed. No sounds were made, but he groaned internally. "Princess Aquarius," he greeted, with the same monotonous voice he has when he greets anyone. He could only hope she wouldn't mess with him today. He met eyes with her briefly, then watched Prince Galaxy.

Prince Darcy remained quiet during his highness's little fit, processing every word that he had said. When he was finished, Darcy was the first to respond. "Prince Galaxy. It would be best if you had not made assumptions. We all have our reasons for being here." Prince Darcy sat back in his chair and put one leg over another. "The reason this war had started was because Queen Stars is exasperated with the King's ruling. Your highness, you were used as a scapegoat." He closed his eyes, calculating. "Like I said before, we all have our reasons for siding with the King. By siding with the King, we are helping the cause of the King's people, including your highness's reputation. Therefore regardless of our own motives, you are still receiving the benefits. But this war is more important than whether or not people believe you've been promiscuous." Darcy sat forward. "I am not asking that you become the King. I ask that you cooperate. It may not be your job, but my people, your people, the princesses' people- their lives are at stake. For once, at least while your father is gone, accept the responsibilities you've been given as an authority figure. Don't let your name be your sole motivation for this war."

Darcy had much more to say on this subject, but he relaxed in his seat, letting it all sink in.

Prince Vincent Altair Scorpio

When the horns blared, signifying the arrival of the first guest, Vincent jumped slightly. As he always did whenever something or someone "wakes him up." This time he had ventured from the thoughts of the war to the evolution of clothing. Oh how his mind wanders. He did think about a lot of philosophical notions, albeit concerning the idea of materialism. If only he had been writing his thoughts down- he might have gotten somewhere.

Wait, no, stop. He been too deep in his thoughts that he hadn't understood who had arrived. But all he needed was one look, and he knew.

Vince grinned and raised and eyebrow. "Oh, shush, everyone knows it doesn't take a lot to impress you, darling." He stressed the last word, attempting to mimic the way Prince Marlin speaks, but only succeeded in looking ridiculous. He chuckled and gestured to the blue-haired man. "It's gotten a lot less dramatic with you here, anyway." There's near nothing he appreciates more than a person like Marlin- thank whoever is up there that someone else has some sanity left. "If there's anything you need, just ask. You're welcome here. And I don't know how long this meeting will take."

After a little bit, Princess Leo arrived. Vincent looked up towards the doors and there she appeared. Vincent stood from his seat and narrowed his eyebrows. He knew the Princess was wild, but good heavens, they had to run past cougars! which were no big deal? Vincent has experience in survival and fighting, but she was on another level. And she's not even showing she's in pain! If she even felt pain at all.

"Princess Leo, good morning. Prince Marlin and I haven't discussed anything concerning the matter, so you're fine. Please, let my servants treat your wounds." Vincent called for someone to accompany Princess Leo to treat her wounds. He would have done it himself, but, as embarrassing as it is, he's a tiny bit squeamish when it comes to open wounds. "We won't begin until everyone is ready."

A little while later, Princess Sagittarius arrived. Vince stood and bowed, greeting, "Good morning, Princess Sagittarius. Thank you for joining us. It's great to have you on our 'side.'" Vincent looked from face to face, satisfied that at least they thought better of High's situation.

When everyone was seated, Vincent spoke. "Again, thank you all for coming. I expect that you all have an idea for why I have called you here- to discuss the upcoming war..." Vincent sighed. "We all have not chosen a side, but I expect that sooner or later one of the sides will make it so that it's no longer an option to stay uninvolved. Therefore. I've called a meeting to introduce plans where we could keep our respective kingdoms out of the war, and perhaps find a way to peacefully prevent it. As Royals, we all have a choice on what to do, but if we all agree on the same plan, that would increase its effectivity- whatever the plan may be." He leaned forward and looked at everyone at the table. "First, what are your thoughts and plans for the war?"

Princess Zari Leo

Zari laughed a little when Vincent offered someone to take care of her wounds. ”Prince Scorpio, it's kind of you to offer your help but these are just small scratches. A couple of new scars is nothing anymore. I'm perfectly fine.” She would never reveal her pain to anyone. Then she looked at Gwendolyn. ”Princess Sagittarius” she greeted her with a nod.

When Vincent was speaking, Zari estimated the three other royals in the room. She had come to the meeting just because she wanted to see what kind of plan Vincent had in mind. She was not so sure she could negotiate with Marlin or Gwendolyn. They both were too quiet, too safe, too unsure in her opinion. But those qualities would make it easy for her to manipulate them. Zari knew they would avoid the war as long as possible. They were nothing like her.

Then there was Vincent. Zari was still unsure what to think about him. He had some fighting experience, but he didn't care about the upcoming war. He was a strong leader – a trait Zari appreciated – but seemed to mourn in his past.

After Prince Scorpio had finished his speech, Zari stood up. ”You say you want to keep our kingdoms out of the war. In my kingdom fighting goes above everything else. We choose the next Prince or Princess by fighting against each other. Even the 15-year-old girls can wield at least two different weapon. My people are eagerly waiting which side I'm going to choose so they can get to a real play field. And the reason I haven't chosen the side yet is because I'm waiting.” She smirked. ”I'm waiting for the highest bid. I'm sure you all know my reputation. I'm known as a business woman and mercenary. And in case you're wondering why I want crazy amount of money is because it's not cheap to maintenance my army.”

Zari sat down again. ”I am, however, willing to negotiate. When the war starts there will be blood and death. If my kingdom stays away from it, there will be less blood and less death. So Prince Scorpio...” She looked right into his eyes. ”How much you're willing to pay me?”

Princess Sophia Libra

Sophia looked down at her lap and pulled her temper back in, but it was difficult, for she really wanted to smack some sense into The Prince. She took in some quiet, yet deep breaths to center herself before she looked back up. Sophia looked up just at the time Prince Capricorn coughed, and she saw a slight twinkle in his eye, so clearly he was covering something. She raised an eyebrow, but otherwise ignored the cough and looked to The Prince and Princess Aquarius. ”Princess Aquarius, what a pleasure it is to see you among us.” Sophia said, putting on a bland and bored facade to cover her annoyance with The Prince.

She continued nibbling at the food in front of her, listening to Capricorn speak when two ideas hit at the same time. The first was to make a point to The Prince about “jobs,” though Capricorn had covered it with far more tact then she ever could, but the second could possibly change the war. Sophia took a moment to finalize the thought before she began speaking. ”You know, it’s obvious that the Queen has already spread her story of what happened, but we need to get The Prince’s story out, and fast, while spreading the real reason this war is coming.” She said, drumming her fingers on the table, her excitement rising, and she sat up straighter. ”We’d have to send various types of people into the other nations to get it to spread, but it’s a risk that I know many of my people would be willing to take, even I would be willing to do some myself. I think we must make the people of the other nations wonder, and maybe question their Queen’s ruling, setting unrest in the very foundations of her war.”

Sophia leaned back against her chair, taking a breath, a slight smile of triumph on her lips. The Queen would not last if she could not keep up her propaganda and control over the people under her.

Prince Sorrel Virgo

Sorrel looked at his allies, feeling a little overwhelmed about the situation. He hadn't been on the throne for a long amount of time, it always occurred to him that it should've been his brother in this situation, making all the decisions. Sorrel wasn't even sure how he would explain a war to his people, but part of him hoped that Elliott would deal with most of that. He didn't have much knowledge about war in general, he never thought he would have to do this in his lifetime.

The other three sides appeared more knowledgeable than he was. The Queen, for one, obviously had much more experience than he did. He wasn't quite sure about Prince Cancer and Princess Aries but he was certain that they must have had an idea as to what they were doing.
Where do we start?
He asked his allies,
I apologise, I am relatively new to this...I'll try contribute as much as I can.

Sorrel took a moment to consider how he could contribute to this effort. He would probably be able to offer some strategy plans, but he knew that his kingdom did not have a very powerful military. Sorrel sighed quietly, he didn't want to make all the others to do the work, he wanted to at least do something that would help the others, otherwise there was no point in him being here at all.
However, I do know that we need to make the right choices, in order to succeed, so we should play our cards wisely.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

Alexis turned to the Prince Virgo, nodding. "Prince Virgo, I can assure you we will guide you each step of the way. I do not intend to lose to the King's forces without a fight. And I do agree with you, we do need to make the right choices; however, at the same time, we must not be afraid to act."She turned to all of them again. "This is war, after all. There will be losses. There will always be losses."

She looked Prince Virgo straight in the eye. "We should be wary, but doing so every step of the way will only hinder us." Alexis could already feel a headache coming on. She may not be able to work so well the Prince Virgo if he was so cautious. Hesitations and over analysis upset her. Alexis worked off of actions. Especially after her second trial...

"We might as well go on how we wish to contribute. I'll provide my man power. I have a militia ready to act on my command." She lowered her voice a bit. "But my kingdom is landlocked so I cannot help when it comes to naval battles." That had always been one of her weak points. Her militia was strong but naval training was not very useful if the next body of water was a kingdom away.

Caden stepped forward as Alexis finished her report.
"My lady Aries, if I may, that is where you will have no cause for worry." Reed stepped forward so as to address all members of the group. While not very good at public speaking, he was among allies and personal friends, so he treated it as such.
"Some time ago, I realized that, for lack of a better phrase, I needed quite a bit of help when governing my shores. I and my subjects all knew that I was not the war machine my father was. So I enacted a parliment. Under their laws and allocation of budget, my Navy has flourished, as well as the commerce of my home." Reed turned to face the Queen, his face stone cold but his eyes lit like a child's on their birthday.
My Queen, the oceans are yours to command under the Royal Cancerian Navy."

Primrose watched as the guests entered, not many had showed up, but still those that had were valuable assets to her mother, or so the optimist in her assured her. Primrose got up from her balcony seat after finishing a cup of rose tea that her servants had brought to her and decided to head down to the atrium to be with her mother and her guests, smoothing her gowns she descended the stairs to see the four gathered.

Primrose smiled at the three guests as she went to stand by her mother, curtsying to the guests and her mother as she took her place behind her mother.
"Welcome, Princess Aries, Prince Virgo and Prince Reed. It is a pleasure to have you."
She welcomed the guests, as she had been taught to do many a times.
"Mother, I managed to get word back from the Alchemists, they have promised to join our cause."
She smiled as she input her piece of information forward.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

Alexis nodded at Princess Planet as she stood behind her mother. Princess Planet stood politely as she greeted each of them. Respect seemed to be a strong point of hers. Princess Planet was another reason why Alexis had joined on Queen's side. She showed much potential as a strong, firm leader but a small part of Alexis felt like Princess Planet would not last the whole war if she remained at her current state. On the other hand, the war may be just what she needs to grow.

As for the Prince Cancer, Alexis was thankful she had an ally who would support her from the sea. She hated the thought of having to depend on someone, even a little, but her greatest weakness would be naval battle. All others would be mere obstacles.

At the new information Princess Planet shared, she raised an eyebrow in interest. The Alchemists would definitely be an asset. If she had the Alchemists on her side, then she would able to get a step up on new warfare technology. Especially those new prototypes. Yes, this was perfect. What was she thinking before, doubting her side?

"Princess Planet, Your Highness, I wish to work with the Alchemists after our meeting. There are some projects they may help with that would be a great asset to our side." She had a small twinkle in her eye as she said this. "Of course, they are still under development and I am unwilling to share their current status at such a raw state." In her mind, Alexis was already thinking of her blueprints.

Queen Vivienne Saffell Stars

Vivienne listened to there comments, from Sorrel's concerns from his his inexperience, Alexiss' inability to touch the seas, and Reeds' confidence in his navy. Keeping her peace while they talked Vivienne nodded to her daughter upon entrance and just quietly smothered a laugh. Everything was going to be fine, everything was covered from resources, land, seas, men and such forth. She built these lands once upon a time, traveling to and from the lands, talking and consulting with the people's needs. Vivienne didn't stay queen by being idle, she was queen because she loved bringing joy, freedom, and life to her people. Yes, this war may sound like a conflict of that interest only as an old Admiral of hers once said "There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people." the people are now becoming the enemies. The kings rule does not allow a steady hand to help it's people it simply allows the people to learn from there own mistakes (if that instead of offering its previous knowledge.

Moving away from those thoughts and back to the matter at hand Vivienne finally made her comments. Prince Sorrel, you are right indeed, every action must be taken into account. Noting can be sparred to chance, we have little allies and I know the king is not opposed to "playing dirty" as it's called. Those without an allegiance will be tempted and swayed to join the kings side or to doubt my rule. For the moment, I will place my trust in the bloodlines I have put in charge and I believe that it is best if we don't sway them but protect them. As of now, we try to shelter them from the worst of the new rumors, after all our people are ones with their own individual ideas and opinions they should be able to filter out lies from truth judging by our actions. As such, we are not to start any unsavory talk, this war is one of morality and principle. If we lose ours we've lost the war. As such Prince Sorrel, I place my trust in you to act as our public relations liaison, should you chose to accept said position. Judging by how you don't rush into choices and take deliberate time into making decisions I trust that you will be well suited for that job. Of course, fell free to ask for help or consultation, when needed."

Taking a moment for that news to sink in Vivienne set out for a glass of water and took a small sip. After a moment she continued on. "Princess Alexis, you have mentioned that you may provided the military, evidently I do have one myself and I was wondering about you're person opinion on the idea of Princess Zari. Personally, I would prefer not to hire her services. Having a mercenary is nothing but trouble, with no trust nor allegiance it becomes difficult to act around them. Mercenaries make excellent spies, for once you pay them a hefty sun you believe you have their allegiance when in fact you're enemy is paying them a crown more and the next thing one may know is a knife in one's back. If you believe we require Zari's forces to even out the field then I have no qualms paying them, however if you believe otherwise I would prefer to write them off as against us, thus knowing the definite allegiance. Also, due to your expansive knowledge, would you mind being tasked with the general land troop. By so I mean would you accept the position general of the army? Understandably this is a large request so please take time consider the position before making choices."

Finally looking to Reed Vivienne smiled once again and replied. "I owe you my thanks, the seas are among one of the assets we ought to remain in control of, as such these are your forces. Men and women who joined the navel feet under you're guidance not mine, and I would appreciate it if you were my feet admiral. Much like Princess Alexis, I understand that this may be a large request and I encourage you to think it over.

Moving a bit back as to give space, Queen Vivienne realized that she's given them more than enough to ponder on. Right when she was about to give a dismissal for the rest of the evening and inform them that rooms have been prepared should they wish to spend a while here, Vivienne was stopped by Princess Alexis talking with her daughter about that worrisome science. Vivienne had no qualms about alchemy, in fact she found it nothing short of wonderful. Only as it was her daughter dabbling in the science, like any good mother she was concerned but trusted Rose to take care of herself. God forbid anything happen to her... the fleeting thought was enough that Vivienne had to suppress a shiver. Ignoring the irrational fear for the moment Vivienne distracted herself by addressing Rose's wonderful news. "Thank you love for asking them on my behalf. I truly am thankful for asking when I was pre-occupied, if you could keep me updated on said front I would be much obliged." Ending her short request to Rose, Vivienne gave a soft smile reserved purely for her darling girl. Turning to everyone else Vivienne spoke once again as she said "Thank you all for coming to my aid. I've made a room for all of you should you wish to spend the night. As I understand I have given you all enough to consider for the night, shall any of you need anything or should you all come to the consensus to talk more about about the upcoming war, feel free to interrupt whatever it may be that I'm doing to talk with about things. As for now please consider my positions I've offered all of you."

Sebastian walked to Sophia, took her hand gently in his and kissed it slightly while bowing down. ”Ah, your plan is music to my ears. I would be more than happy if you could take care of it Sophia. Or you prefer Princess Libra, sweetie?”

He turned towards Darcy next. ”I'm sorry if I sounded rude Prince Capricorn. I understand there's peoples life at stake and I wish to avoid it. But as I said I'm not going to be in charge of this. I would just cause more harm than good.” he laughed. ”I can admit it. I don't have any experience and, believe me in this, I don't want any unnecessary victims. That's why we need someone who has experience in war and can come up with strategy.”

”I would suggest Allessandra. What you say, beautiful?” Sebastian flashed a smile to her.

"Oh, Vincent, I'm offended," Marlin said, his attempted chiding tone completely ruined by the smile that tugged aggressively at his lips, pulling his expression out of a mock pout. If there was any other member of the royals that Marlin would willingly choose to spend the day with, it would probably be the Prince of Scorpio, a man after his own heart. "Or I would be if it wasn't completely true, sweetheart" He enunciated the little term of endearment, a laugh escaping from him at Vincent's attempted imitation. Attempted, of course, because no one could quite mimic a character like the Prince of Pisces.

He slipped into his seat to Vincent's right with one fluid motion, leaning his elbows on the table in such a way that his etiquette instructor would be chiding him for weeks about. However, here he was among friends, at least for now, with a noble beside him who wouldn't be offended in the least by Marlin's mercurial ways. It was nice, in a way, to have someone who understood the pressures of ruling a kingdom and being a human at the same time. Only behind the scenes, away from the expecting eyes of his citizens and the eyes of other nations, could he just be.

"And thank you. Hopefully this can all be discussed soon enough. I'd rather spend my time having a bit of fun now that they've let me out of the castle," He said with a laugh. They talked for a while, trading retorts without any edge to them and generally conversing about the little things that involved their daily lives as opposed to stuffy "And the wheat crop has had a surprisingly good yield…" business talk that was meant for the normal, stuffy meetings Marlin found himself enduring as a Prince. That is, until the next guest arrived.

When Princess Leo made her grand appearance, Marlin straightened up to his full height, no longer slumped lazily over the table. The smile drifted off his face, schooled to a look of polite indifference. She looked positively wild, covered in bandages and sweating, dress torn in areas. There was no way she hadn't drawn attention to herself, looking more like she'd just ridden out of the war than to a summit to avoid it. Then again, given the rumors swirling around her...

"Oh, no, the pleasure's all mine," He said standing up and bowing before seating himself stiffly once more, completely on autopilot, recalling courtesy lessons that had been engrained in his mind since the day he was born. The atmosphere was tense for a while as Princess Leo got straight to business looking as if peace were the last thing on her mind. At least, until Princess Sagittarius made her arrival. Marlin's lips twisted into a smile, standing up and bowing once again at her arrival.

"Hello, lovely," He greeted and meant it sincerely. Gwen was a delight and, much like his adoration for Scorpio, fit with his personality quite neatly. However, now was not a time for pleasantries as the last of the rulers filtered into the room and took a seat. It was vaguely disappointing that only four were here for a conference on peace rather than war, but four was assuredly better than none or, in Marlin's case, one. However, no sooner than Prince Scorpio had introduced the matters at hand than one of the guests showed their true colors. Marlin wasn't quite sure why he was surprised at Princess Leo's inclination towards war. Nevertheless, her nonchalance towards the fighting, her attempts at blackmail only served to ignite the passion in Marlin's heart not for fighting or for peace, but for his people.

"I've always said that blackmail is the classiest way to compromise," He sniffed, pink eyes narrowed in an unnatural expression of distaste. "And how, Princess Leo, are we going to be sure that one of the sides won't offer you more money? Then you'll have all of our money and get your war too. It seems to me that, money or not, you and your kingdom are sitting pretty while the rest of us are left to our own devices regardless." It wasn't logic that drew that conclusion, but an intuition guided by Marlin's understanding of the Princess Leo and her people. Her mistake, he was sure, was that she thought they were idiots.

Allessandra Aquarius

❝It is not enough to conquer; one must learn to seduce.❞ ~ Voltaire

Alless's eyes lit up delightfully when Prince Darcy greeted her by her title. There was a joy she felt in seeing him, though not one he shared. She liked to toy with him, almost like a game. He didn't much appreciate this, but Alless wasn't one to consider others. He was very up-tight seeming according to her, and loosening bolts was a hobby of hers.
She gave a small cunning smile to those who also acknowledged her, only one corner of her mouth turning upwards. Her eyes narrowed slightly, chin up, glancing below her to them. She gently brushed her hair long pale pink hair over her shoulder as she took her place among the other three. Stitting there she placing her hands neatly in her lap. She never slouched, more like posed. Her positions were usually provocative and confident, intimidating and seductive. Back arched, shoulders back, head up. Her curves were rarely hidden, the only thing straight and narrow about her was her nose, which was fairly aquiline.
Blah, blah, blah. She thought as she watched Prince Darcy speak, wondering if he ever got bored of himself. He was intelligent, she'd give him that, at least displayed his knowledge of the politics happening. She couldn't honestly say she understood everything. She'd sided with the King merely because the rumour the Queen had spread was stupid in her opinion. She could care less about the ladies in waiting, what angered her was the fact the Queen was portraying women as helpless creatures. The idea of damsels in distress infuriated Alless. Don't mark her as a feminist though, on the contrary she does not believe women and men are equal. She finds there are advantages and disadvantages, mostly her advantage is manipulation using her sex appeal.
Princess Sophia then spoke, talking about rumours and gossip about the war. What was this, middle school? Personally she saw little help with that, being that people will talk about whatever they think regardless of what we try to spread. It may help, she supposed, if people thought more to side with the king, but on the other hand the peasants wouldn't be doing much anyway other than living their daily lives as citizens. What ever happened to actions speak louder than words? It's a war isn't it? Where's the fight.
She stayed quiet though, knowing her thoughts were opinions rather than real suggestions. Maybe a little more truth to the gossip would help, although no one would stop her from adding more dirt against the Queen. Little lies were only small cracks in the side walk compared to the massive hole an earthquake would leave. The earthquake being the war itself, of course.
Prince Galaxy agreed with Sophia, which relaxed Alless about it. If someone agreed then it was little of her concern. He then suggested that she herself she be in charge of strategy.
Interested, she looked over to him, "Of course, Sebastian. I'd be honoured to," she gushed. "I think I'd be quite a help in that area," she confessed, a little mischievous smile now showing. "Although I'm sure Prince Darcy would be a good help. He and Amira would be better with the actual fighting and battles and what not. Strategy, however, the plans, plots, tactics, and trickery you may depend on me," she offered.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

If Alexis could ever say anything about the Queen, it was elegant. Not only was she a strong leader and ready to organize whatever needed to be do but she kept calm and collected composure that had always fascinated her, even if they had only met a few times before. The Queen addressed each of them of their stations and positions, utilizing their strengths for the desire outcome. She even had something for Prince Virgo, the most inexperienced of them when it came to war.

Damn you're good, Alexis thought, eyes shining with admiration. She was amazing. Just stunning.

Her mind returned to the other possible ally. She hadn't mentioned it before, but Alexis sure had hinted it. She wanted the Leo's forces on their sides. They may be mercenaries but they were good at war. Bold hearted warriors that would fight to the death. But, as the Queen put it, Princess Leo was only as faithful as the largest sum of money that was paid. The Aries kingdom was definitely not overflowing with money and there were plenty of other kingdoms with much more. For the time being, maybe she would see where everyone stood before seeking Princess Leo's help.

Then there was the position as the main general. She would obviously accept! Military was the finest product of the Aries kingdom. They were trained not only fight but to follow orders under any and all circumstances. Families were honored to have such proud soldiers coming from their own bloodline. But, for the Queen's sake, Alexis would 'think about it' a while longer. She was already grinning at the thought.

As the Queen dismissed them, Alexis bowed politely. "Thank you, my Queen. I will gladly take your offer. The carriage ride from my kingdom is quite a few hours from here so I am grateful for being able to stay a night or two." She then turned to Princess Planet. "If I may speak with you after I settle, Princess Planet, I would like to meet in my room. I have a feeling you will like some of the projects I have brought with me."

From the corner of her eye, Alexis noticed a servant holding her bag and politely standing at the back of the room. She bowed once more to the Queen and nodded to the Princes and Princess. "If you excuse me, I will be in my room. I have some work to attend to." She turned on her heel and walked towards the servant, nodding to him.

Understanding her message, he lead her to her room. As he closed the door and left her, she sighed in relief, running a hand through the lower part of her bound hair. She wanted to undo it so badly but her other bags were probably still in the carriage, along with the change of clothes she kept inside. She would have to retrieve those soon. "But first," Alexis said with a grin, reaching over to her bag, "What I've been needing this whole time."

After a few moments of rifling through her bag, she pulled out a piece of gum and stuck it in her mouth, chewing. God, how she needed this. Standing still was horrible for her. But she couldn't shift around in front of the Queen! The gum was already starting to settle her nerves. She began to dig through her bag for the mostly completed projects, jaw at work.

This is going to be fun.

Prince Sorrel Virgo

There was something about the way the Queen spoke to them all that just expressed how elegant and how much of a good leader she was. The way she organised the three of them just demonstrated how organised she was, it made Sorrel feel unprepared for whatever was going to fight against them in the future, if only he could be that organised all the time. A lot of the time, he found being organised all the time quite tiring and sometimes, quite stressful when everything seemed to be going wrong. He aimed to avoid stress as much as he could.

The Queen had offered him the position of Public Relations Liaison, it was a position he was going to gladly accept. It surprised him that the Queen was even able to find anything for him to do considering he had no idea how to control the military at all. He supposed it was due to how he had only been on the throne for almost a year and beforehand, he had not been allowed to participate in any royal business. You aren't entirely useless. He told himself.

Although he was going to take up the position, he was still planning on contributing the efforts of his Kingdom's army, even if his own wasn't as big and strong as the others. Sorrel had the impression that there would be members of the army that would be more than happy to get in on some action, despite how dangerous it would be. His brother, the previous prince had not made much use of the army and instead focussed on money more than anything, sometimes Sorrel thought about how terrible his brother's rule really was.

Thank you for the offer, I will be more than happy to accept,
He said with a smile. Sorrel was quite thankful that he was able to spend the night and the Queen's castle. New environments such as this always interested him, other castles seemed so different to his own in every single way. He watched as Alexis left the room.
I suppose I should be off to my own room too,
Sorrel looked behind him, there wasn't much else he could do around here except from wait until morning and head home or something like that.

He bowed to the Queen before turning around to a servant, who led him to the room he would be staying in. Sorrel liked the room, it was nice, unfortunately there wasn't so much for him to do at that moment in time.
I guess there will be more to do...as things get worse,
he sighed to himself.

Princess Zari Leo

”It seems you don't fully understand how I work, Prince Pisces. I'm not a backstabber. I'm just doing business.” Zari answered to him.

”As I said I'm waiting the highest bid. Let me explain. Let's say you would offer me 2000, King only 1000 and Queen 3000. What I do to get the highest amount of money? I would let you and the King to know there's been higher bidder but I don't tell the amount of money. Let's say you would next offer me 4000 and King only offers 2500. Now you have highest bid, right? In this point the King would also drop out of contest.” Zari smirked. ”Guess what I do next? Yes, I would inform the Queen about the higher bid, but I still don't tell the amount. Let's say she offers 4500. And now... We're on the final round!” she laughed a bit. ”I would tell to both of you and the Queen to do the final, last bid. I also would tell you that the current bid is 4500. Let's say you now offer me 6000 and Queen only 5500. So there you have it. In this case I would be in your side.” she paused for a while. ”And be 6000 richer”

Zari leaned back in her chair. "So now you know, how I work. And if you're afraid that the King or Queen would try to use force to get your kingdom in their side, I can also offer protection. I can sent few dozens of my soldiers to your Kingdoms. They all are good fighters and will follow orders. Of course, that's not free either."

Zari started to get irritate. She couldn't wait this meeting would be over. She would go to search Cayden and Sevi from town and run another two hours over the mountains and kill couple of more cougars, or perhaps a boar, to calm her nerves. She had put her claymore leaning against the chair. It was hard to sit when it was on her back. She glanced at it. Maybe it hadn't been so good idea to take it with her...

One wrong word and she might lose her temper.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

"Here it is..." Alexis pulled out a packet of papers as well as a sealed container. The container was a cylinder around 6 inches long and wrapped in a rough brown cloth. She grinned as she took off the covering. The strange element inside started to glow erratically in shades of green and silver. "It was a good idea to bring you along..." Alexis wrapped the cylinder again, the glow ceasing immediately. She placed it on a desk located in the room.

"I wonder what Princess Planet will think of this. And to think I found this strange resource in my kingdom. I wonder what it is. And what we can use it for." Around a few weeks ago, this new element was discovered in Zenith, the Arian city of Fire Flowers. A innumerable amount of it had been located under the old city hall which was being torn down for reconstruction. The element was found as a glowing group of rocks that felt soft, almost spongy, to the touch. There were no signals the rocks were harmful... Yet. However, the leader of Zenith sent some to the capital for testing to see if they were useful. The Arian Kingdom had kept it secret but now Alexis wanted to know what it was.

Alexis sighed. Princess Planet sure was taking a while to get there. She began thinking of her other allies. The Queen would need a formal response for her acceptance of becoming the main general. She should probably have to consult Prince Cancer over military positions as well. Not to mention Prince Virgo...

Alexis ran a hand over her face before pulling out some blank sheets of paper, an inkwell, and a quill. In rushed, spidery strokes, Alexis wrote down three letters. Her words were scrawled on the paper, barely legible. However, they were elegant in their own way.

For the Queen, she wrote that she accepted the office with great honor and would not fail as the general. For Prince Cancer, Alexis asked that they strategize on how to station their forces. After all, they were greatly outnumbered in troops and getting their facts straight would be crucial to winning this war. A meeting could be arranged while they were at the castle. If not, they would have to visit each other's kingdoms to plan.

And Prince Virgo... She stopped for a bit on his letter, wondering what exactly to write. Alexis first, and most awkwardly, congratulated him on his position as... Public relations? Was that right? She hoped it was. Alexis continued to inform him that as his senior as war, she would help improve his own army by sending some of her generals to his kingdom. With his permission, of course. Alexis would also try to ask Prince Cancer to send naval officers for sea battle. She would not let any of their allies fall.

As she finished her third letter, she rolled them up and tied them with a brown string. Just as Alexis had completed tying them off, a knock came in the door. Those were her bags. The servant came in, placing several of her bags in the room. She nodded and handed the letters to him. "Deliver these letters to the ones who are addressed." He nodded and went off. Alexis smiled, closing her door and turning to her bags.

She quickly took apart the elegant labyrinth of braids and clips to let her hair out. Immediately it poofed up. Alexis sighed a bit before tying it in a messy ponytail. In moments, she also changed into a long sleeved tunic, black leggings, and long boots. She was already feeling better. Her hands slowly brushed against the leather gloves in her bag and cringed. She never liked wearing them. But it was necessary to do so when not on royal business in other kingdoms as a sign of respect. Alexis begrudgingly pulled them on, flexing her hands to get used to the leather. They were restricting and she couldn't feel anything properly.

As for forms of entertainment, she didn't feel like going over papers but she couldn't walk around when she had invited Princess Planet to her chambers for the projects. Alexis exasperatedly flopped down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling with a frown.

"...I'm bored."
