Personality:
Eric is a true free spirit. He is often the life of the party, but he is less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than he is in enjoying the social and emotional connections he makes with others. Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, Eric's presence can certainly be felt in any crowd. He places far more value on creativity and freedom than structure and stability. He sees the world as one big puzzle, every piece connected in some way. While Eric is a natural-born leader, he doesn't always want to play the role of the dutiful prince. He'd much rather be out exploring than tend to the domestic needs of the kingdom.

Eric does everything with passion and gusto. He believes in doing things for their own sake rather than to gain a reward or avoid a punishment. He doesn't take things at face value – he looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It's not uncommon for Eric to lose a bit of sleep asking himself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, he can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best. Eric loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – he wants to be seen as a highly independent master of his own fate, even a possessor of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond draconian law.

As easy as he finds it to start a project or come up with an idea, especially one involving a person he cares about, he has great difficulty with upkeep and administrative tasks. It often takes a more hands-on person to get Eric to do much else but move from adventure to adventure.

History:

A born prince, Eric led a charmed life from the very beginning. Grand parties and exciting adventures filled every day of his life for as long as he could remember, which was all part of being royalty in a thriving little island kingdom. He was well-liked among his people for being a kind and daring prince. As he grew older, however, his father became more and more serious about him taking a wife and ascending to the throne. While this led to many disagreements, the first true fight they had occurred when Eric was seventeen. The king had wanted to arrange a marriage to ensure Reidon's future.

Angered, Eric joined the first expedition he could find to get back at his father. Despite Eric's extensive training on ships, the king had forbidden him from taking overseas journeys farther than 10 miles away, with the knowledge that many sailors never returned home. The expedition Eric joined was headed more than 250 miles to Nassau. Early on second day of the journey, there was a storm the likes of which none of the sailors had been seen before. Eric was thrown from the ship and knocked unconscious. He woke up on the shore of Reidon, his only memory of how he got there a beautiful voice stuck in his mind even after the headache had faded. He made up with the king, and the negotiations for his marriage were pushed back indefinitely.

When a beautiful girl was found on the very beach that Eric had been on, mute or not, he knew there was something very familiar about her. As he was falling in love with Ariel, the negotiations for his marriage resumed. He was promised to a princess he had never even heard of. Unbeknownst to them, the princess was really the sea witch that had taken Ariel's voice. She used the stolen voice to bewitch everyone in Reidon. When the spell was broken, the sea witch escaped, and Eric and Ariel were married. She told him what she had been through, and he immediately wanted revenge on the sea witch.

In their fight with the witch, their was an explosion on the ship and the couple were thrown apart. Eric's men saved him, but Ariel was lost to the sea. Those who didn't know she was a mermaid assumed she was dead, but Eric couldn't give up hope. All available forces searched for her while he healed, and as soon as he was well enough, he left Reidon with his sheepdog Max to find her himself. He carries both of their wedding bands with him, and he is driven by his love of Ariel and the guilt of knowing his actions caused their separation.

So begins...

Dialogue Color: #ff2929 || Location: Ruby's Cafe/Diner

ImageRuby stood behind the counter of her cafe early in the morning waiting for her new employee, Gretel Fischer to arrive. Around this time everyone in town was beginning to wake up but as for Ruby, she always seemed to find herself awakening at the crack of dawn. It was something she never seemed able to understand.

The air was slightly chilled from the light fog that was beginning to lift itself from the ground and dissipate into the air as the sun rose higher into the sky. It was cold enough to send slight shivers throughout your body but not bad enough that you needed to cover yourself. This was the kind of weather Ruby always loved. Not too hot, not too cold. But of course she knew it was going to warm up in the afternoon, it was summer after all. She was just glad that summer was going to be coming to an end soon.

Ruby finally got everything in the diner ready for the day and she stepped into the kitchen and began cooking up her father's breakfast. He always asked for the same thing, sausage, eggs, biscuit, and even a waffle or pancake, depending on what his mood is like when he wakes up. She loves helping out her father, but she just wished he would return to himself so she wouldn't have to be waiting on him like this every morning, he would just be able to come to the diner when he wanted to. But either way, she knew she shouldn't complain. He would do the same thing for her, well, she hoped he would anyway.

Just as she finished cooking her father's food, she wrote and note and placed it on the counter in the diner just in case Gretel got there before she returned from bringing her father his wanted breakfast. The note read: Gretel, I will return soon until then keep the front door locked and feel free to get yourself a drink and what not. When I return I will start you on your training, won't take long.

Ruby walked the ten minutes back to her home, the big house in the middle of Crimson Grove, her father was the mayor. She stepped inside and made her way up the stairs pass her room, Belle's room; she seemed to still be sleeping, and finally arrived to her father's room. Ruby knocked on the door a couple times before opening it up and speaking, "I have your breakfast," she stated as she set it down on the small table in his room. "I need to return to the diner, I'm training a new girl today. If you need anything have Belle get in touch with me. I love you Pa," she stated before turning on her heels and beginning on her way back to the diner.
Image
As Ruby walked through the empty streets, it seemed as if things were starting to pick up for the day's busy schedules most people had. She just hoped she wouldn't run into Flynn Ryder any time today. The past couple of days he has been trying to take things from her, but of course she was always able to sense him coming close to her without even being within four feet from her. That was always one of the things she enjoyed about being a wolf. But no matter how much she enjoyed the good parts, the bad parts were nothing she would want to put up with.

Just thinking about what she is capable of, the things she has done just makes her sick to her stomach. The brunette finally reached the door to the diner and she stepped in, opening the diner for business. She slid the hood off her head, though she kept the red, silk cloth draped around her body. This was the last thing she had from her grandmother and it was so much more important than some sort of remembrance item. She just hoped nobody would find out.

"Gretel, are you here?" she called out to the empty diner, hoping that she would come across her somewhere in the building.

Eric woke from a beautiful dream of his wife to a slobbery dog tongue all over his face. He sat up fast enough to hear a crack coming from his spine.

"Max!" he shouted. The sheepdog laid down on Eric's legs, fur covering his eyes and a puppy grin on his face.
Immediately, Eric felt guilty for yelling at him. He ruffled the mop of fur and pushed him off the bed. The dog wagged its tail good-naturedly, patiently watching his owner climb out of the too-big bed. Everything about the room suggested it was meant for two people--from the walk-in closet to the his and hers towels--but the only one Eric was sharing it with was Max.

Without looking at the mirror, he scrubbed at the purple crescents under his eyes. He knew he wouldn't recognize his reflection anyway. He'd never looked so exhausted: his skin drained of color, his eyes dull, and his lips chapped and even bleeding in some places. Eric went through the motions of his daily routine, muscle memory taking over when his mind took a break. He ended up in the lobby of his building, hooking up Max's leash--not that it would really stop him if wanted to get away--and pushing through the double doors.

When Eric had first come to Crimson Grove, he had expected to be there for a couple days at most. He never would have looked twice at Crimson Grove if it hadn't been for the psychic in Miami, but there he was. He had quickly realized that the town, while not bigger than expected, had more nooks and crannies and strange characters to search through than he could have imagined. He had been in town for a week, and he had only covered about a fourth of the ground.

The little diner was full when he passed it, but he kept walking. Logically, he knew he should keep a regular eating schedule, but just thinking of food made his stomach turn over. It seemed he would spend this morning like he had every morning here so far: wandering aimlessly with Max, hoping against hope that Ariel just dropped out of the sky in front of him. Max, who had been turning around to check on Eric every few steps, let out a thunderous, playful bark and sprinted ahead, yanking the leash out of Eric's hand.

"Max!" he called, running as fast as he could after the dog. "Get back here!"

ImageIt's been a solid week since the day Jasmine left Agrabah in search of herself. If it weren't for Aladdin telling her to take this trip, she honestly wouldn't have taken it to begin with. Here lately the two of them have been having problems and its all because Jasmine no longer knew who she was, hence the reason for this vacation. But of course, she ended up somewhere she never thought she would, in another world, in a place called Crimson Grove.

The name of this town made no sense to her, though part of her thought it should. But the strangest thing is, most of her life in Agrabah seemed to just disappear from her memories. Jasmine has only been in Crimson Grove for a few hours and couldn't seem to remember why there was an engagement ring upon her ring finger. Of course she knew she had to of been engaged, but she couldn't remember to whom. "This was going to be an interesting adventure," she stated to her companion, Rajah, the tiger who followed her on this vacation.

Jasmine walked through the town, looking around at everything. It seemed to be a nice, quiet, quaint little place. Everything was so much different than it was back at home. The buildings looked different, the carriages certainly looked different, especially since horses didn't seem to be dragging them around. But she actually liked it there. Just as she turned a corner, she was pounced on by a full grown sheepdog. Rajah immediately started growling at the dog, warning it to leave Jasmine alone. The female laughed a bit and calmed Rajah, "It's alright boy," and just like that Rajah hushed.

Jasmine finally pulled herself out from under the dog and stood to her feet. She dusted her teal puffy pants off and straightened her matching top which stopped just below her breasts. It was her signature look to let the civilians back in Agrabah know that she was royalty. But of course she had a feeling it wouldn't matter much here.
Image
Just as she returned her attention back ahead of her, she noticed a dark haired male running after the dog, his name seemed to be Max. She gave the male a soft smile and reached down to Max's leash and walked him over to him, Rajah following close behind. "Here you are, Sir," she stated as she handed the leash over to him.

The clothing he wore seemed to be a little outlandish, but what was she to expect? It's not like everywhere around the world everyone dressed the same, she just wondered what part of the world she was in. She didn't remember taking any drastic turns out of Agrabah, but she ended up in this strange town. Jasmine instantly began wondering who the sultan was. Jasmine shook the curiosities from her mind as she spoke once more, "That's a gorgeous dog you've got there. I'm Jasmine," she introduced following with a friendly smile.

Jasmine hoped she would be able to find a place to stay for the time she spends here, that would be her next task and after that, finding something to eat for lunch. She had breakfast before stepping out of the small cottage in the Agrabah woods, so she wasn't hungry at the moment but she knew she would be later on.

Elsa held lightly to her tea cup as the other ladies in the apartment began to come to life. "Good morning Elsa." The blonde is rewarded with a small smile from behind a cup. As she had mentioned the beach, Rapunzel seemed to brighten. "Really! I've never been to a real beach before." I've only been a few times myself, since coming here," Esla softly confessed.

"An afternoon swim sounds pretty good. Right Rapunzel?""Yes I could use some sun." She had to smile. It was good to see the two getting along, almost like sisters. "Good, then we will go later." She stood with the finality of it and crossed the apartment to put away her cup and rinse it out as she awaited Amelia's answer. It was quick to come."Yeah, sure boss!" Relieved, Elsa glanced up from the sink to give her a thankful smile. "Thank you. I won't be long, I hope. I'm sure you'll manage, hm?" Her tone rose slightly, edging on playful.

She crossed over to the door and stooped down to pull her shoes on as she heard Rapunzel's voice from the bar."Elsa I wanted to thank you again for allowing us to share your house with you. You're a very generous person." The sincerity and kindness gave her pause. She looked up from putting on her boots and gave the girl with impossibly long golden hair a shy smile. "If you want to see a change in the world, you have to be the change.... I heard that somewhere, once... Probably in a book." Deflecting, as usual. "I won't be gone long... enjoy breakfast. If the freezer gives you any trouble, just kick it."

A confident nod and smile, then she slipped from the apartment, down the long stairs into the shop and out the front door. The sun was already warming the pavement, but it didn't stop the air from cooling a few degrees in her direct vicinity. Across the sidewalk there stood a couple chatting-- one exotic looking female and one very lost looking male. The tiger at the girl's side drew Elsa's stare for a moment, but she didn't make to cross the street and introduce herself. What would she say, anyway? It wasn't like she was the town welcoming comity.

Keeping to herself, she continued through town to the edge, then further still into the woods. She had only just gotten deep enough to lose sight of most of the town when a howl echoed through the woods. She stopped short, glancing behind her.

What was that?

"Max!" Eric called again breathlessly. Again, Max ignored him, and he turned the corner, out of Eric's line of sight. When he caught up, the dog had tackled an unsuspecting woman to the ground. "Oh my God! I'm so sorry!" he babbled between desperate gulps of air. "Max just gets so excited. He doesn't really know how big he is. I'm so sorry."

The woman performed the most elegant sheepdog removal maneuver Eric had ever seen, and he was left speechless as she delicately handed him the leash. "Here you are, sir," she said just as dignified and proper as everything else she had done. Her clothes were strange, to say the least, and she had an air about her that Eric recognized from visiting princesses and even the occasional prince that came to bid for his marriage. If he had been born to any Caribbean kingdom besides Reidon, easily the most prosperous of the isles, he would have been expected to seek out his own spouse, but as it had been he had rejected another suitor every few months in favor of his freedom.

His attention was brought back to the situation at hand by the tiger standing next to the woman, glaring at Max. The dog, in turn, raised his butt in the air playfully, wagging his whole backside instead of just his tail. Eric caught him in a bear hug before he could complete his pounce, but Max, ever the opportunist, just took the chance to cover his master's hair in slobber. On his hind legs, the dog was a few inches taller than Eric.

"That's a gorgeous dog you've got there. I'm Jasmine." Jasmine smiled, and Eric felt himself turn even redder than he had been before.

"Eric," he replied, holding out one hand to shake and still gripping Max with the other. "That's a nice... tiger. I've never seen one outside of a zoo before. What brings you two to Crimson Grove?"

ImageJasmine laughed a bit as she witnessed Max give the male a shower in his slobber. But when Eric glanced over at Rajah strangely as he introduced himself she couldn't help but form a smile upon her face, "Thanks for the welcome and it's nice to meet you Eric," she responded as she shook his hand.

Jasmine once again returned her attention back at Rajah before adding, "Don't worry, Rajah won't hurt you unless you are a danger to me, so far you're fine," she let out a soft giggle before going silent and glanced around a bit more, as if in search for something. "Uh, you wouldn't happen to know somewhere I could stay for the night, would you?" she questioned, hoping that there would be somewhere in this small, strange, luxurious town. Jasmine still couldn't seem to get over how different it was to Agrabah, well the bits and pieces that she was still able to remember.

As the brunette stood there, she ran her fingers through Rajah's striped fur and waited for Eric's response. She would also have to find a market so she could pick up some meat for Rajah to eat before she sat down and ate anything. jasmine always felt bad eating in front of Rajah when he hadn't eaten yet. The last time Rajah was fed was the last time she ate, which was about five hours ago, hasn't been very long but long enough for the tiger to be hungry again.
Image
The wind around them happened to pick up slightly and the clouds began to steadily get darker, it was definitely going to rain. Jasmine just hoped that she would be sheltered before it starts raining, but of course knowing how her luck works out it was always easier said than done. It would be great if it rained through the night though. It would be amazing if she could finally get a good amount of sleep. For the past couple of days she hasn't been able to get much rest because all she could seem to think about was...well, she couldn't remember what. All she knew was that it was a person, an important person.

All of this memory loss was beginning to bug her. She knew that she remembered a lot of the things she realized she had forgotten just five minutes ago. Jasmine just hoped it wouldn't continue to the point of her forgetting who she was and even what her name was. The last thing she ever wanted to do was forget that she was a princess of Agrabah, the next ruler. It was already bad enough she forgot who her apparent fiance was, she didn't need to forget that as well.

Eric was only slightly comforted by Jasmine's reassurance about the tiger. It was still a wild animal, right? He didn't so much worry for himself as much as for Max, who had a way of ignoring other creatures' personal space more often than not, but he dropped the dog on the ground anyway.

"Uh, you wouldn't happen to know somewhere I could stay for the night, would you?" Jasmine asked.

"Actually," Eric started, glad to be of some use to make up for Max's antics, "there's this nice little hotel towards the middle of town. You can either pay nightly or arrange a longer visit. I can take you there if you want, and we can grab something to eat on the way."

The wind switched, and Eric looked to the sky. His mind flashed to another storm. A throbbing headache and overwhelming fear combined with a flash of bright red hair and an enchanting melody. He'd woken up on the beach, his clothes torn and kelp wrapped around his limbs, to Grimsby calling for him. The search had lasted for a whole day before they found him. Eric snapped back to reality. "We should probably get out of the streets before the rain hits," he said. "There's a diner down the street and a grocery store right next to it. Although, I'm not sure they sell tiger kibble."

ImageJasmine smiled, quite happy that she heard there was a place she would be able to stay until she was able to head back home. Home, where was that? she thought to herself, suddenly realizing she no longer remembered where that was. After a couple moments of her silence, it became apparent that Will had been waiting for her response.

"Thanks, that would be wonderful," Jasmine responded. Just as she answered his question, the sky began to throw a fit. She glanced up at the sky and immediately began to look over at Rajah. "You'll be okay boy," she reassured her companion before looking back over to Will. "He's scared of thunder," she added.

Once Eric started walking she followed alongside of him, she honestly couldn't wait to get to this hotel he was speaking of so she could get her room booked. Then food was the next thing on the menu, she would have to pick up some meats for Rajah to eat when she arrives at the grocery store.

Jasmine seemed to become lost in thought when he finished speaking. Her smile became distant, and it was clear she wasn't really there with him. It took a couple uncomfortable minutes for her to snap out of it, but she smiled again.

"Thanks, that would be wonderful," she said. The sky rumbled. Jasmine offered her tiger some reassuring words and told Eric, "He's scared of thunder." Eric smiled and nodded in a way he hoped didn't come off as artificial, but she could probably see right through it. A powerful killing machine. A wild animal. Scared of thunder. Meanwhile Max barked at nothing, convinced the noise was some kind of threat that he was going to somehow fight off.

"Max loves storms, he offered with a laugh. "Any chance to track his mess everywhere." The words hung in the air for an awkward second before he said, "Should we go? Don't wanna get caught out here."

When Eric turned, Jasmine followed. He wasn't too worried about Max: he never wanted to be more than a few feet away from his person. "So what brings you to Crimson Grove," he asked. Eric had only been there a short time, but he had already realized the town was full of oddities, magic, and little things that didn't quite add up. Like how parts of the town seemed to be magically blocked off to him. The flower shop especially. More than once, he'd tried to go in, but when he made a move to enter, he was filled with a sense of dread and a nausea that almost had him sprinting away. No matter how badly he wanted to overcome the magic, he was just this side of too weak to break the barrier. It happened in other areas of the town as well.

Occasionally he'd sit on the bench across the street to watch people go in and out and practice tricks with Max. Which never worked. The dog would barely sit on command, much less shake or roll over.

Eric realized he'd probably spaced off like Jasmine had earlier. "Ruby usually lets Max stay on the patio, so we could ask her about Rajah."

ImageJasmine smiled as she listened to Eric talk about Max. That sheepdog definitely had a little personality to him, it was hard not to like him. Of course if she were to let it known to Rajah that she likes Max, she would never hear the end of it. Every time she were to take a liking to anyone else's pets, he tends to feel like he is on the verge of being replaced, which she honestly didn't seem to understand. Rajah was her companion, best friend in life, there was no other animal that could take his place and he knew that.

"So what brings you to Crimson Grove?" she heard him question, breaking the silence between the two of them as they walked. She opened her mouth as if to say something but she no longer remembered what it was. "You know, I arrived here knowing why I was here, but for some reason I can't remember the answer to that question. It's almost as if stepping into this town is wiping all memories of my old life out of my mind," she answered. "I know, you're probably thinking I'm some crazy person right now but I can't remember," she admitted.

ImageFlynn smirked when he heard her bring up Maude's. That was an amazing day, one of the best the two of them have ever done. "I'll give you a chance at feeling the adrenaline this time I had too much fun at Maude's," he responded as he stood to his feet and pulled out the matches from his pocket, showing them to Gold very briefly in a way no one else would notice before stepping into the male's restroom.

Flynn looked up at the ceiling for the water spicket before lighting the match and holding it up to the spicket, waiting for it to signal that there was a fire in the building. Just as the water began running out the spicket in the bathroom, he ran out the door, acting as if there were a real fire in the restroom and pulled the fire alarm, setting off that loud, annoying beeping sound and activating the other water spickets in the building. "There's a fire!" he shouted over the loudness in the building before heading out the door with the rest of the crowd. That's when he gave Gold their signal. It was now her turn.
