Dialogue Colour = #f77418 Hansel had been up for an hour or so doing small jobs here and there around the Nursing Home. He had to set up the dining room for breakfast before oldies started pouring in for food. He also had to make sure a room was prepared and available for a new resident they had moving in that day. He learnt early on that there were always jobs to be done around the Nursing Home. Now though he could sit down and enjoy his breakfast, after all it was the most important meal of the day.
"I swear to God, I'm going to kill that witch in room 32," Gretel, his little sister, moaned as she slumped into the seat next to him.
"She practically locked me up as her slave the morning." Of course, with Hansel's sister around you couldn't really enjoy much, when she was being a grump and in a bad mood she liked to share it around.
"Myrtle, is really not that bad," Hansel replied easily. Myrtle always needed a bit more hands of help, and could be a bit needy, but Hansel had never had a problem with her. She was good to chat to, unlike some of the other residents she had her wits about her and rarely repeated any stories.
"Besides, have you forgotten the reason we get to live here, is that we agreed to help out around the place." Since leaving high school, Hansel had taken on a more full-time role around the place. Though it wasn't a very demanding job, and left Hansel with a lot of relaxed downtime, which was well appreciated by him.
"Easy for you to say, you're the golden boy everyone loves. And, look I'm fine with helping out, but I draw the line and getting on my hands and knees to search for specks of dust under Myrtle's bed," Gretel said definitively, crossing her arms and resting back in her chair.
"I pity your new boss, when she tries to make you do anything," Hansel joked.
"Speaking of your job, shouldn't you be leaving soon?"Gretel's eyes went as wide as saucers as she eyed the clock on the wall across from them.
"Great, Now Myrtle's made me late for my first day."Hansel laughed as Gretel jumped out of her seat and rushed off. Yelling after her,
"Be nice to the customers!" After Gretel left, Hansel was finally able to finish his breakfast in peace.
He finished his breakfast then had to do a few more jobs around the place such as cleaning up breakfast, and watering the plants around the place. After which he was free to enjoy the rest of his morning about town. He had a list of things he needed to pick up for the Nursing Home at the shops, that he shoved into his back pocket as he crossed the road into the main part of time. He didn't really have any solid plans, but he figured he'd find something to do. Maybe he's go to Ruby's cafe and check up on Gretel at work.
