The Originals

Being the Disciple of Wind means that Iraa's power is over the air. She can create harsh, violet winds that are powerful enough to unroot trees and destroy buildings. On occasion, if the wind is strong and fast enough, it can be fastened into something of a whip, but this is extremely difficult to do considering the amount of wind and air that must be concentrated into on area and then flung altogether at an object while still keeping its shape. With the air being a bit of an unpredictable element, it is difficult to hold air in one spot without it flying around. It is for this reason, that Iraa's most destructive power is held in the fact that the violent winds she conjures can pick up different materials and fling them around wildly. Despite this power that the air and wind harness, Iraa's most use of her power comes from the fact that she can sense the air around her for up to a mile radius (on a good day with the right wind conditions). She can sense the slightest changes in air pressure, temperature, and speed. Along with being able to feel the changes, she can also smell them and hear them (although her power does not heighten her sense of sight). This makes her hard to surprise and difficult to hit in a fight. This also means that she can feel a person's emotions. She knows when someone standing relatively close to her is afraid or happy or angry because of their changes in breathing or heart rate. The final use for her power is one that Iraa rarely makes known to people and more often uses it for her own enjoyment rather than daily use. This is her ability to control sound. She can create or cancel sound by either amplifying the natural airwaves or stilling the air. She can then contain it to a specific area if need be. While this could potentially be useful in a fight, Iraa prefers to keep this power a secret. She often likes to create music for herself and then sing or hum along to it, but she always contains the sound to a bubble around herself because singing is a very personal activity for her.

Much like the element that she controls, Iraa's personality and emotions are unpredictable. She can be completely happy and smiling in one moment and then someone says something to upset her and she becomes angry and distant. For the most part, she is a kind, unassuming girl. She likes to smile and laugh even when she doesn't completely understand a joke and most people find her enjoyable enough to be around. She sometimes comes off as distant or detached because she likes to "listen" to the air and the wind and she often gets caught up in this, making her forget everything else around her; however, she always comes out of her distant gaze and plasters a smile on her face. This also makes her appear a bit ditzy at times because she will forget what the conversation is about and have to ask what they were talking about. However, her distant behavior should not be taken as snobbish, ignorant, or dumb (as many people do take it). In reality, Iraa is quite the opposite. She may not be a very intellectual girl, but she understands emotions (and people in general) more than anyone. She knows when someone around her needs to laugh and she also knows when they need a shoulder to cry on or someone to rant at.
While Iraa is not rude or piggish, she has also never been called polite or lady-like. She like being clean and tidy, and she cares about her appearance, but she doesn't understand the subtle things about holding herself properly or walking a certain way, and she will never compromise comfort for appearance. She quick to anger and usually does not do much to hide her anger, but her relatively short attention span means that she finds it hard to hold grudges against people when she does not remember why she was angry. Although she is quick to anger, Iraa does not enjoy being angry. Above everything, she loves joking and messing around with everyone because she loves when other people laugh.
Aside from her unstable emotional state, many people find Iraa easy to love. Although she is often passionate about her thoughts and opinions, Iraa is not a prideful person. She knows when she is long and when to apologize for something and she is not afraid to admit her failures and insecurities. Although she may not jump at the opportunity to point out her own flaws, she knows that she has them and can admit that. In any case, Iraa is and always has been the living embodiment of the wind. She ranges from pleasant and nice to harsh and violent and can go from one extreme to another in moments. She is impulsive sometimes, but she is also extremely quick on her feet and quick with her tongue which has gotten her out of many troubling situations in the past.

Iraa stands at only about 5 feet tall and has a lithe yet athletic body. Her skin is a pale ivory that tans slightly when it sees a lot of sun (which is often does) and long hair used to be platinum blonde when she was a child, but has since turned to an odd grey-white color that takes a lot of work on her part to keep clean. She normally wears her hair down and it reaches down to her waist, but occasionally when she doesn't want it flying in her face or getting dirty, Iraa puts her hair up into a ponytail with a large bow. Iraa's eyes are a shade of blue that can appear light blue-violet, bright blue, or dark steely blue depending on the lighting.
Iraa's clothing mostly consists of things that she deems "pretty", but not uncomfortable. This means that her wardrobe mostly consists of loose fitting shirts, or shirts that reveal quite a bit of skin for warmer days, and big, comfy sweaters for colder days. One odd features of Iraa's wardrobe is that she own exactly one pair of shoes. She hates the confinement that shoes bring with them and after so many years of wearing them sparingly, Iraa's feet have hardened and calloused and she doesn't really feel pain in them. She owns one pair of slouchy boots for extreme cold and snow, but only wears them when absolutely necessary. Iraa loves jewelry, but she rarely wears it because she feels that it gets in the way of her constant movement. However, she does wear one piece of jewelry and that is an old rope bracelet which she refuses to tell anyone the story behind. Many think that it has something to do with her parents or an old friend or sibling, but no one really knows. She often plays with the frayed edges when she is nervous or bored or afraid.
⌊ • Fears • ⌉
|| Living Forever || One might think that immortality is a blessing, but that is far from the truth. Having to watch people you get close to die while you stay exactly as you are is extremely difficult mentally. Iraa does not want to die and she is certainly far from suicidal, but Iraa fears that someday, the Disciples will be killed and she will be all alone. It is a scary thought for her.
|| Uselessness || She tries not to show it, but all Iraa has every really wanted is to be seen as useful and needed the the eyes of the other Disciples. This is part of the reason why their breaking apart has been so hard on her. She knows that she has a purpose; that the Goddess chose her for a reason, but she fears that she is a useless creature in the grand scheme of things.
|| Losing A Disciple || Whether it is from the Originals side or the Ashes side, Iraa fears for all of the Disciples lives. She is angry at the three who left, but a part of her tells her that they are still trying to protect the Goddess's land even if she doesn't agree with how they are going about it. Iraa still feels close to them and she wishes that they could still be a family again. This is not ignorance or naivety on her part, it is simply a wish of hers.
|| Confinement/Feeling Trapped || More than anything, Iraa fears being inclosed in small spaces. Like the wind, she enjoys being free and finds that confinement disrupts her power as well as her personality. Iraa can handle crowds by simply swallowing her fear and discomfort; however, after leaving the crowd, Iraa will often have to take a period of time (depending on how long she was in the crowd) to calm herself and be alone.
⌊ • Strengths • ⌉
|| Agility & Speed || Much like the element she controls, Iraa is quick and clever and it is always difficult to tell where she is going to be at any given time. She's excellent at sneaking around and then popping out of nowhere.
|| Clever || Along with her physical speed and agility, Iraa's mind also seems to work at a mile a minute. She is a quick thinker and -while she is a bit impulsive at times- her seemingly "silver tongue" has gotten her out of many troublesome situations before.
|| Enhanced Smell, Hearing, and Feeling || Due to her control over the air, Iraa's senses of smell and hearing are extremely enhanced. Although her sight is not enhanced, Iraa's power allows her to "feel" things around her through changes in the air. This means that she essentially could go blind and she would have no trouble "seeing" things around her. These enhanced senses make Iraa nearly impossible to surprise unless she has been incapacitated for some reason.
|| Hand-to-hand || While most think of a good hand-to-hand combat fighter as someone who is big and can take a lot of hits, what makes Iraa a good hand-to-hand combatant is quite the opposite. Her quickness and her ability to do quick jabs and disorient an opponent make Iraa a worthy opponent in a close range fight. Her main choice of weapon is a thick bo-staff that she uses because it is not cumbersome and has many different uses.
⌊ • Weaknesses • ⌉
|| Light Bones || Iraa may be quick and speedy and that is a big advantage for her, but she ends up sacrificing the ability to take more than a few hits. She can evade many attacks, but her bones are rather light and brittle, so once her adversary lands a few good hits, Iraa could and will be seriously injured.
|| Water || Iraa is not so bad in water. If need be, she can pull the oxygen out of the water and create a bubble around herself. However, Iraa has a problem with too much water coming on too quickly. If there is too much water, then she panics because there is too little air. This makes water a problem for Iraa occasionally and she avoids large bodies of water when she can.
|| Fire || Fire essentially feeds off the oxygen in the air and that has proven to be a big problem for Iraa. Small fires such as candles or small fireplace fires are not a problem for Iraa as she can simply suffocate the flames; however, much like water, if there is too much fire, Iraa becomes overwhelmed and cannot put out the flames quick enough.
|| Emotionally Unstable || Her flitting personality is something that weakens Iraa considerably. Although she is not naive, it would not be too hard for a person to play off of Iraa's emotions and make her think a certain way. Iraa often struggles with getting her emotions under control, but it is a task that is easier said than done.

⌊ • Relationships • ⌉
|| Louie ||
Iraa finds Louie interesting. She has always been able to read peoples thoughts and their emotions easily, but it's difficult for her to read Louie. He always seems so calm and collected even when she knows that he shouldn't be. In any case, Iraa likes being around the Doctor. She finds the waves that come from him are healing in a way and they calm her even when she is having an angry outburst.
|| Yvette ||
Yvette and Iraa don't get along... at all. Yvette doesn't like the wind and Iraa doesn't like electricity. It's only natural that the two of them would clash. Yvette is aggressive and snarky and she generally just makes Iraa tense. They have learned to deal with being around one another and neither of them intentionally provokes the other; however, when Iraa and Yvette bump heads, they do so in a big way. Neither of them is one to really back down and that makes for spectacular arguments and harsh fights.
|| Henrietta ||
The relationship between Henrietta and Iraa appears to be a strange one to everyone but them. They seem to constantly fluctuate between loving each other and screaming at each other and there is rarely an in between. The two of them have found an odd sort of kindred spirit in each others unstable personalities and there seems to be many things that only the two of them understand about the other. The normal cycle of events is this: the two get into an unexplainable screaming/fist fight, they go their separate ways, Iraa feels horribly about letting her temper go (but never has to apologize for her actions), and they both go back to being friends without anything but a look passing between the two.
|| Neris ||
Iraa and Neris have always been fond of each others company. Before the split, Neris was something of an anchor for Iraa when she was in a bad place. Neris was always so calm and collected that she would ground Iraa in a sense. In turn, Iraa would make Neris smile whenever she could (or more like whenever Neris felt inclined to smirk at Iraa). Although Iraa has never really understood how Neris can stay so calm, she has never questioned it because she often wishes that she could have a little bit of that in her life. Now that they are on opposing sides, Iraa finds that misses having someone to calm and stabilize her energy. When she thinks of Neris, Iraa often feels a pang of hurt and she can never figure out if it is hurt over Neris's leaving or regret that this whole mess ever happened.
|| Carter ||
While they have never really been each others biggest fans, Iraa and Carter never really hated each other. Before the split, Iraa was often irritated and angered by Carter; however, she also found Carter's sarcasm hilarious and she admired his loyalty to the Disciples. She would never admit it and obviously, Carter never admitted any good feelings he had about them. When he split off with the other two Ashes, Iraa was not surprised that he would want to join the side looking for power, but she was surprised that he would blatantly decide to stop loving and protecting the rest of the Disciples. Of course, he is still loyal to the two Ashes, but she often thinks that what would happen if one of the Originals were to get hurt or killed. Would Carter care at all? If Iraa is completely honest, Carter power paired with his personality actually scare her a bit, and now that he would not even hesitate to harm the Originals, Iraa fears him more than anything. She preferred it much more when they were at least on the same side.
|| Alice ||
Iraa has never liked fire. She often enjoys a small campfire, but anything bigger simply uses up too much oxygen and makes her feel suffocated. However, it is also for this reason that Iraa and Alice make a great team since Iraa can amplify Alice's flames. As for their relationship, Alice and Iraa get along rather well. Alice is one of the only people that Iraa is not prone to snap at for whatever reason, but when she does accidentally snap at her, Alice seems to understand that Iraa cannot help herself. Iraa often finds herself trying to explain to Alice that she is unable to control her emotions, but Alice is almost always understanding and Iraa never really needs to explain. However, she feels the need to simply because she likes Alice and feels horrible for getting angry at her.

|| Keith ||
More than anything, Iraa misses Keith. Iraa has always been easily annoyed by Keith's tricks and his riddles because they often make her feel dumb or inferior. He would often ask her a riddle and when she couldn't figure it out, she would storm out angrily; however, Iraa has also always been intrigued by his riddles, and she always found herself going back to Keith to ask him to teach her how to solve the riddle. She would always come away with some new piece of knowledge or wisdom. She genuinely enjoyed being around Keith which is why his siding with the Ashes hurt her so much. She sometimes tries to be angry with him just so that she won't feel hurt when she sees him again, but more than anything she misses Keith's fun and games and the knowledge that he gave her.
