Lonán sat down and let Linde work on him. He didn’t care if Linde didn’t give anything to take the edge off the pain, he needed the distraction from his own thoughts. The pain from his shoulder increased as Linde worked on him and it took all Lonán could to not scream out in pain when the knife was yanked out.

”Sword arm’s probably gonna feel uncomfortable if I ever get in another scrap. Pick fights more carefully next time.” He thought through the pain as his wound was disinfected. He hissed, he groaned, his other arm had the chair in a death grip, with his knuckles turning white. He heard Aetri give out a small remark as he rolled his eyes. Linde kissing and slapping Aetri’s rump made him chuckle before wincing..

”To answer your question, yes. I could have. I took my eyes off the opponent for one second. The one thing my Arsehole father teaches me and I couldn’t do that right. To hell with him anyway, I was helping a friend take out a dangerous variable in the Plan.” he said the last sentence with clenched teeth. ”I was scared though, For the first time in my life I was scared. I thought I foolishly threw my life away like an idiot. But I didn’t want to fail a friend, or let a friend die for no reason again!”

Tears were threatening to form from his face as he gave a pained sigh as he covered his face with his good hand. ”But damn my luck huh? I nearly thought I failed Kyero as much as I failed her all those years ago. And what do I have to show for it?” he muttered bitterly, the memory of moments ago flashing across his mind as well as an old emotional memory almost matching it. ”I screwed up, and I’m sorry. Can anyone get me a stiff drink or something to take the edge off this pain?”

Linde sighed and pat his good shoulder.

"Kyero has something."

She looked to Kyero, who nodded.

He walked over to his own backpack and opened it, fishing a small jar of paste-like material from it and tossed it to Linde. She popped the top and smeared the paste on her fingers, smearing it on his wound over the stitching.

"This will dull the pain for around twelve hours. Tomorrow morning I'll give you a second round. And I'll give you one before we leave for the auction. This will ensure that even if you can't use the arm to the fullest, you'll be able to at least use it normally. Though you'll still have some heavy discomfort from the muscles and flesh that are still binding. So as much as you can, avoid using your arm at all tomorrow and auction day." She said softly as she finished applying it to both sides of his shoulder.

"Now, let's get you that drink."

She helped him to his feet with his good arm and walked with him to the doorway, looking back at Aetri and giving a jerk of her head to request she came as well. She did so, and the three of them walked downstairs to enjoy a night of drink and casual banter to take the edge off of what had happened before returning and falling asleep...

Lonán nodded at Linde’s instructions about not to use his arm too much for the next few days. Unfortunate as it was he had a feeling the social gathering they were going to attend soon didn’t include arm wrestling or forced dancing with any pretty girls. Lonán mentally shuddered at the thought of the latter. He’d never hear the end of it from Aetrius if such an event ever occurred.

He was helped onto his feet and joined Linde and Aetrius for that drink... he wanted to wash down the night he had with it, that was for certain.

——

Lonán woke up on the next day with a hangover. Last night wasn’t how he wanted yesterday to end on. Now he has a shoulder ache and won’t be on his top fighting form for awhile. He didn’t want to be told, he could feel how the ache screamed at him. ”Annoying.” he muttered as he got dressed into something more plain. He knew this was the day before the Auction so he decided to spend his day indoors at the Pony as much as he could, examining the outfit Kyero meant for him to wear at the auction. He nodded at it as he walked to Linde and Aetrius’ room and gave the secret knock.

He felt a little sheepish about how he spoke last night about Clarissa without even explaining himself, he hoped he didn’t become a drunken fool last night and spoke of her. ”Wait... I’m not a sad drunk! I’m probably the silly drunk.” he mused as he waited for the signal to come in from Linde, or be brought in, either or worked.

Aetrius nodded as Linde gestured to follow, and for the next few hours they drank, made small talk, drank some more, talked more, told jokes and stories of their pasts and drank more. Eventually, the three of them headed to bed, and the rest was a blurry mess for Aetrius, and she was certain it was even more so for Linde who couldn't hold her own very well. The following morning, Aetrius groaned as sunlight hit her face, causing her to fall out of bed with a thud.

She slowly rose to her feet, her head hurting for more than one reason now, and she looked around, the room was a mess, clothes laid on the floor. She shook her head, and realized something, she was half naked. She quickly covered her lower half as she was missing half of her clothing and looked around, her memory slowly clearing up, We didn't...Did...did we?", she thought to herself. But as her mind cleared up more, she remembered what happened the previous night. Linde and her arrived back at the room, and Linde started to undress in her drunken state, which Aetrius tried to stop, but Linde drunkenly fell onto her and had fallen asleep, and due to her own dazed Stuper Aetrius fell asleep then and there.

Aetrius shook her head and got dressed in more casual wear, and prepared for the day, she made breakfast and made maps of the Lion's Head Inn for them to all study and take as notes from what Kyero described. Today was their last day and they needed to prepare leaving. Aetrius heard a knock and walked over to see it was Lolan, and welcomed him in, "Morning, Lo. Breakfast is ready. Just need to wake up Linde." she said as she let him in and she walked over and attempted to wake Linde up.

Linde was gently shaken awake by Aetri, and she woke with along groan followed by stretching her arms out as she turned up and pulled Aetri into a kiss before letting go of her and rolling out of bed to her still half-asleep feet. She trudged to the bathroom to bathe and refresh herself, coming back in her robe and changing into her clothing behind the changing wall. When she came out she was still sleepy and a bit out of sorts, but she sat down and greeted everyone with a smile before remembering she had to give Lonan another dose of the pain killing salve.

After applying it, they all sat down to review what they had learned. And Kyero elected to begin.

"We learned an ex-Te'i Sai agent was in charge of security. Lonan and I took him down, so at least the threat he presented is no longer a factor. But his security measures living on without him concern me. However, last night, I drew up a plan of what I would do given my experience and if I were in his position."

He brought out a parchment with a hand-drawn map of the room the auction took place in complete with the stage, exits, seating, and areas where security was most likely to be positioned.

"If I were him, I'd place at least two guards at each exit, armed, and one at both front corners of the stage to protect it from hecklers who might be drunk participants of the auction. I would also ensure the tunnel leading to the auction had at lest one armed guard at every twenty or thirty feet so they could easily sprint to each other's aid if something goes wrong or fall into positions to block the tunnel entirely."

He leaned back in his seat.

"I would also keep my eyes on these two balconies, as they may have bowmen stationed there as backup. Outside of that, so long as you maintain your disguises and keep out of trouble you should be fine. The security will be focusing on whoever causes trouble. And so long as it isn't you then you'll be free to pass through unhindered."

Linde nodded slowly.

"We also learned about Nobility and Slave behavior and relationships. Aetri and I are comfortable and confident in our roles, but all the same I think it would be of benefit to us to take this day to do one more round through town to make certain beyond any doubts that we are ready. Don't you think, Aetri?"

Aetrius listened as Kyero spoke and went over the map, mentally taking notes of the supposed guards and where they'd be. At the notion of bowmen, she remembered they did say that how the auction would be set up was, interesting. It was in the underground part of the inn as described, yes. But it would be in a way that was set up that the nobles would be separated from the prizes by a dropped down level that was at least 15-20 feet, meaning that the nobles bidding would be looking down at the slaves and judge them from an advantage point, meanwhile the slaves would be looking up at who would possibly win. Aetrius also remembered that it would also be a silent auction, meaning no speaking besides the one giving the slaves away. Which, in Aetrius' case it would help, if she were to bid on Kieran and Kieran recognized her voice, it could possibly ruin their plan and they'd be killed on the spot. At the mention of practicing one last time, Aetrius nodded silently.

"I agree. We will practice a bit more today in town, then come back and practice for the auction. And, Linde....I have a..surprise for you later today." she said calmly, and gave Linde a small smirk. Soon Aetrius got up as the others talked and dressed up in formal wear and came back and awaited Linde to join her for their last day having to fake this act. "And after tomorrow, never again..." she said with a tone of bitterness in her voice as she left with Linde.

Lonán listened as they went over the things that were discovered and what Kyero also deduced about the venue after last night’s events. The Te’i Sai agent obviously already Set some security measures but Kyero was right. Play to the disguises and they’d be safe.

”Speaking of disguises, I’d better see if mine will fit, and then probably just meditate. This shoulder isn’t gonna make me go anywhere.” Lonán said as he cracked his neck. ”Good luck you two, anything else comes up for the Plan let me know.” with that he got up and returned to his room to check out his outfit.

He changed into it and took a look at himself in it. He gave himself a good look at every detail of th clothing. ”I don’t look half bad, for a merchant now at the service of a noblewoman.” He thought as he nodded in approval of the outfit. This would work. This would definitely work. All he had to do was remember his vocabulary and the accent he used when he met Mariah, and he was all set.

Now he had to wait till tomorrow. Heresta help them all.

Aetrius and slowly followed by Linde eventually left the inn for their last day in the town, they took their time. Mainly as they studied security, where the closer exits were, and what were the safest places for quick exit would be. They studied the building and how long it would take to walk past them, where dead ends led them, and where alleyways twisted and turned. They had to study the Noble District as much as they could, as to that's where the auction would be held right in the inn that was tucked away in the corner, if anyone didn't know any better, it'd go unnoticed. Other than exploring and studying, their day was pleasantly uneventful. Eventually they went bad to the inn after spending a few hours out and about, when they returned Rose eagerly let them in and was busily getting their things in order, leaving their clothes and supplies for the auction out, but everything than what they'd need was packed away and ready for their leave the next day.

After they changed back into their more comfortable clothing, Aetrius turned to Rose and pardoned her for a while to be with Linde. After the young girl left, Aetrius turned to Linde and remained silent. All day Aetrius had made sure that Linde had been paranoid all day, for her possible revenge. But she finally felt as though Linde had enough waiting, and walked back to her and knelt down inront of her as Linde sat on the bed. "Linde...In case...In case something happens tomorrow...I just want you to know, that...I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't met you, let alone hadn't decided to detour to Atlum all those weeks ago.." she said softly, and paused looking down. She dug into her pocket and removed a small, amber colored necklace from her pocket and looked back at Linde as she placed the necklace in her hand, "This...This was the last thing I ever received from my mother before..." she took a pause again and looked down, trying to keep herself from breaking down. Her mother was Aetrius' best friend, aside from Kieran while growing up, and the day she lost her, she felt like she lost a part of herself, and maybe she even did. "Before she and my father died...Ever since she gifted it to me, I've been kept safe for the most part...I want you to keep it from now on...It's made of what we Saharan's call, Dragon Amber. Whether it's actually what its name entails, I don't know...But it's been my lucky charm, and I want you to have it...Please..." she said softly as she slowly and gently closed Linde's hands around the necklace, and her own burn scarred hands shakily clasped themselves around Linde's hands. Whether it was from the memories of losing her mother, losing Linde, or anxiety from what tomorrow entailed, she wasn't sure. But for one thing she was certain of, she'd keep Linde safe tomorrow at all costs.

Linde had been wondering what it was that Aetrius was going to do all day long. She'd even started trembling about midday as her anxiety reached a fever pitch. Thankfully their task at hand drew her attention and the trembling had ceased.

Now, they were back at the inn and Linde felt Aetrius was finally ready to do whatever it was she wanted to do. But revenge for the playful banter earlier this morning is not what she received. Instead, she received one of the most beautiful and heartwarming gifts she'd ever been given. And as Aetrius' hands wrapped around Linde's asking her to have it, Linde looks at their hands, up at Aetri's face, and back to their hands.

"Aetri..." She whispered.

She closed her eyes as they began to well with tears, and her hands wrapped around the necklace trembled within Aetrius' already trembling hands.

"I don't even-... (*sniff*)... Ah..." She sniffled.

The tears started building, and as she opened them and gazed at Aetrius they flowed like wild rivers.

Linde closed her eyes again and let out a wailing cry as she fell forward wrapping her arms around Aetrius and cried on her shoulder. She pulled Aetrius in harder than she ever had before, making certain she was not going anywhere. Clutching the necklace firmly in hand, she suddenly jerked back to look Aetri in the eyes before her arms came up to wrap around her neck and she pushed herself forward into a hard, passionate kiss forcing Aetrius to fall onto her back on the floor. But Linde wouldn't let go, nor would she part from this.

Their lips danced and tangled as Linde let free her emotions and affection for Aetrius in full. But at last, after a few minutes, the energy died down and Linde slowly slumped on top of Aetrius and began sobbing quietly into her chest, holding onto Aetrius' clothing with trembling hands... Necklace still firmly grasped within.

"If you would... (*sniff*)... Place it around my neck... (*sniff*)... I'll never take it off." She sobbed.

Aetrius was not prepared for what was bound to happen after she offered up her necklace to Linde, but after they shared a passionate kiss and Linde asked if Aetrius would put it on her, Aetrius shyly nodded and with shakey hands she wrapped her arms around Linde and tied the necklace around her neck and smiled with small tears in her eyes as she placed a gentle kiss on Linde's forehead. "I-I love you, Linde..." she said softly, it being the first honest time that she said it, and meant those words. Something about Linde had earned Aetrius' genuine love and protection and Aetrius would do anything to keep Linde safe and happy, no matter the cost. She found herself gently hugging Linde closely to her, and just as tightly.

Linde smiled contently as Aetrius reached around her neck to tie the necklace, and as she embraced Linde the good doctor melted into said embrace. Her body relaxed completely as Aetrius held tightly to her, and her hands gripped Aetrius' clothing all the more.

Together they lay there on the floor. Polar opposites in almost every way. Yet two souls bound together by love's red strings of fate.

Eventually, Linde slowly pushed herself up, looking Aetri in the eyes. Linde's tear stained but happy face was completely calm. Her eyelids heavy and a look of pure love and warmth in her eyes.

"And I love you, Aetrius." She cooed.

She leaned down and touched their noses together as she closed her eyes.

"I can be... Difficult, sometimes. My temper often flares like it did with Lonan the other night. And sometimes I can be... Playful and a bit too forward for my own good like this morning. But still I..."

She opened her eyes and leaned back, her smile widening.

"To your heart, here and now, I now entrust my own. Now and forever more..."

Tears began welling again.

"I love you." She whimpered, her smile faltering into an emotional but happier than happy frown from the weight of the affection pouring through her.

She slowly lowered herself down as her tears dripped to Aetri's chin and neck.

"I love you so much." She whispered.

She closed her eyes, the final tears dripping to Aetrius' cheeks, as their lips met softly and passionately once more. Linde's hands gently wrapped around Aetrius' neck, not holding her in place, but rather simply to help support it that she might return Linde's affection in full. Linde melted into their passion, her body going limp save for her arms and upper torso as she continued to kiss Aetrius as if there was no tomorrow with which to do so anymore.

The kiss they shared lasted for what felt like an eternity, but eventually it came to a slow finish when Aetrius stopped it, by gently placing her hand on Linde's chest and with slight heavy breathing she spoke, "W-we...we can't...N-not...not now..." she said softly and gently kissed Linde's forehead and gently helped her to her feet, and they prepared for bed, eventually both getting in and cuddled tightly and closely as they fell asleep, Aetrius' arms were wrapped tightly and protectively around Linde's.

Morning came all too fast and Aetrius was already up, awake, prepared, and dressed by the time the others began to stir awake. She was outside with Bree, gently stroking her main and preparing her for the mission ahead. She loaded Bree with her supplies and kept her close to the Pony, and after making sure they'd have all the necessary items when they left, getting clothing and supplies for Kieran, she returned to the inn. When she went back to the room, Rose let her in, and she sat down at the table and studied the maps that Kyero had prepared for them, but on the map she had she crossed one of his exit's out and circled one of the lower exits, she had unbeknownst to the others, had explored a bit of the auction's place and studied some thing's Kyero didn't. She even placed some weapons in places that she planned on going to, small knives and retractable, one handed crossbows. After her planning was done, she dressed in the outfit that Kyero gifted her, and looked herself in the mirror and tied her hair into a short, and tight ponytail, and looked hard in the mirror. She had placed her swords on Bree, wrapped up in her supplies, as well as her other weapons, but she did place a knife in the lining of her right boot, and kept the small smoke bombs that Kyero gave her in the small pouch on her side. She took several deep breaths, and calmed herself as much as she could, the leather of her gloves creaked as her fists tightened. Everything was on the line tonight, and they'd give it everything they had.

Eventually the others joined them in their room for one last time, and Aetrius looked at all of them and stood up, "I...I appreciate all of you. For willing to come with a complete stranger and help her find her long lost sister. I don't know what will happen tonight, but...Thank you, that's all I really know what to say. We'll do our damnedest to get both of them out of there...And possibly, some point in the future help the others just the same...For now, we're few, a small rag tag team of strangers, that quickly became friends. Let's get this shit done, and let's shut down Mariah's organization the best we can." she gave them all a nod, her right fist tightening as the realization of what was going to happen fully hit her. It was now or never, and she was going to get this shit done now.

Linde and Kyero both nodded. Linde smiled. Kyero did not.

"We're ready, Aetri."

"I can't go to the auction, but I will be ready to find and deal with whoever wins Kieran's ownership."

Linde walked over to Aetri, wearing her new necklace proudly, and gave Aetrius a bow.

"When we met in Atlum I never expected what has transpired recently... Any of it. But I'm grateful it did, and there's nowhere I'd rather be than here with you."

She turned around and smiled at Lonan and Rose.

"All of you." She said with a slight blush.

She turned back to Aetrius and came up close to whisper only for her ears.

"For this performance, I am at your service, Master. And when it's all over, I'd like you to come with me to Cre' Est for a short time and... Meet my family. Doing so would mean the world to me."

When she backed away, she gave Aetri that same loving and warm smile from last night before they fell asleep together and then backed away to stand with the others ready to leave at Aetrius' command.

And leave they did. The day came and went, and it was now time to enact their plan. All of their contingencies were in place. Kyero had set markers at every surface exit point so he'd know exactly where to find the winner upon exit presuming everything went well. As well, Kyero had also placed several traps along the various routes along each exit such as smoke bags which could be destroyed with a throwing knife to cloud the street slowing the winner down so they could nab Kieran.

When inside, it was all on their performance. So long as they kept to their roles everything would be fine. And in the meantime, they all had to watch each other's backs and stick together. It was as simple as that.

Together they approached the entry, all in their respective roles with Aetrius leading the line. She presented their vouchers, and they were granted entry. Marching through the long and winding tunnels, they came to the auction house where they were guided to their seats above the stage where the slaves would be displayed and give signs to raise whenever they presented a bid.

... And so they waited.

And at long last, it had begun.

Mariah sauntered to center stage and spoke in a loud, clear voice for all to hear.

"Welcome, my friends and colleagues! Tonight we share in our love for collecting only the finest and most capable servants to make our lives, and those of our families and children better! Life is much easier lived when the work is done by others leaving you to enjoy yourselves. Am I right?"

Numerous cheers erupted from the crowd until she silenced them.

"Without further delay, let the auction commence!"

Mariah walked off stage, waving to everyone, and was replaced by a large man with a booming voice.

"Welcome everyone! Let's bring out the first slave on the block!"

...

...

And so it was that every slave marched one after another across the stage, standing and posing in various positions to draw attention and desire from the crowd to be purchased as their masters bid on them. And the winners were invited to the stage to walk with their new servant to the back and out the exit of their choice.

Lonan had a key role to play in this. Due to how close to the end it was, Lonan was tasked with relaying the news to Kyero of which exit the winner of Kieran took since he was closest to the exit and it would be suspicious if the others left with him. They had to stay past Kieran's exit and leave with the rest, as much as Aetri hated that. But luckily they'd be free to move about the tunnels at their own pace, and Aetri was already a fast walker. They'd make it out more than quickly enough to find an alley and shed this nobility clothing to don their normal garb. Kyero would be waiting for Aetri on the roof of the Lion's Head Inn to guide her to the winner's location.

For now, they sat through display after display of slaves being purchased until, at last, the main event had begun.

"And finally, the main attraction of the evening! She hails from Shaharan! Her hair is red as blood! Her body as tough as iron! She's feisty! She's loyal! She's exceptional! Here she is! The Flower Of Veilbrand... KIERAN!!!"

The cheering, hooting, and hollering reached a fever pitch as Kieran walked on stage and struck a sultry but defiant pose by turning her back to the audience... Something the slaves weren't supposed to do. She looked over her shoulder and blew the crowd a kiss, earning more cheers before they were settled down.

Kieran took another sultry pose, emphasizing her curves with a knowing and smart-ass smile as if to say, "I know you want me, so show me the money you're willing to pay!"

"Now! Let the bidding begin at ten gold!"

Dozens of signs went up.

It had begun! Now was the time for Aetrius to act and push the bids as high as she could before her eighty gold ran out!

Aetrius nodded as Linde and Kyero spoke back at the Pony, and she was prepared to leave when Linde stopped her and whispered in her ear saying that she wanted Aetrius to go back to Cre' Est with her for some time, that left her a bit empty of words, especially when she said she wanted Linde's parents to meet her. That then gave her more anxiety than she already had, but she managed to keep it down and go about it with a brave face, she would think about Linde's request later but now it was what they were going to do and succeed in.

After they arrived at the inn where the auction would be held, and after they made their way in and Aetrius made small talk with other real noblemen and women, the auction eventually began. And her heart raced, she hoped they wouldn't be singled out and targeted, but they managed to fool everyone where they were left alone in their part of the balcony and watched from above as the auction eventually started, and it was a very slow process. Slave after slave was bid upon until they were all bought out, until the very end, which Aetrius dreaded. It was the final auction, the real reason why they were there. She tried to remain calm as it was announced who the one was, and Aetrius' eyes widened and her heart sped up as she saw a tall, slender but built, red headed woman that strode out onto the stage wearing a surprisingly more modest slave's outfit and posed on the stage in multiple ways and waited for the bidding to begin. She wanted to stand up and give the highest bid as she was growing to impatient, but she remembered the plan and remained calm the best she could. The bidding began at a simple 10 gold, which almost everyone in the room shot their hand up, including Aetrius, but at a slower and more confident pace. Every few minutes they would look around at the bidders and nod, then would announce the next amount, which was 15 gold, which everyone yet again raised their hand. Aetrius wanted this to end, she wanted her to be able to have the highest bid and just be done with this, but she knew that if a new comer came in and bought out the most saught after slave it would arise suspicion.

So Aetrius played the waiting game. More bids went up, starting at twenty, and all the way to fifty gold, by this time many hands started to stop being raised, which Aetrius took note of. She peered over the side more, and saw Kieran better. She looked exactly the same as the day she left, just lacking more clothing. She felt her face grow red and hot, not from what others would have thought, lust or desire, but of anger and frustration. From knowing she failed at keeping her safe, and this was the life she lived. Eventually she was brought back to reality when she heard the man yell, "Seventy gold! Anyone?" Aetrius shot her hand up, as did three others, two men, one woman. Aetrius growled under her breath, and kept her hand up. The announcer smirked and looked around the room, eyeing Kieran with a disgusting look. Aetrius remained calm as much as she could, and looked around, "Do we hear, seventy five, gold?" he asked, Aetrius kept her hand up, and looked at the others from the corner of her eye. The two men put their hands down, remaining the woman and her. Aetrius smirked, she could tell the woman had money, but did she have the money Aetrius was willing to put on the line? Or at least bluff, more than likely. She remained seated, but looked down, Kieran had examined above, and even looked right at her, but from Aetrius' point of view and knowing how Kieran reacted to things, she knew Kieran didn't recognize her, not yet anyway.

The man moved a bit on the stage and looked back up, "Do I hear, Eighty gold?" Aetrius kept her hand up, and the other woman put her hand down and sighed, "She's worth it, but I'm not spending eighty gold on some whore." she mumbled. Aetrius growled under her breath, You will be the first to die, then...bitch... she mumbled in her mind. Aetrius looked back at the auctionier, and listened intently, "Eighty going once, twice, and thrice...That's it, the lady in the red wins the most prized slave, Kieran of Sahar-" but he was cut off as someone else in the other balcony shot up and yelled, "Two hundred gold!!" Aetrius' eyes widened, and her fists clenched, two hundred? From eighty to two hundred as soon as she would have been her's? Aetrius growled, and reluctantly put her hand down, and saw that Kieran looked saddened and reluctant, as she would have probably had a better owner with the unknown woman than with the otherwise hungry man. Aetrius sat back down in defeat and let the man take the bid, and sadly as it was, he was the last one to bid.

"And so, the lovely Kieran, The Flower Of Veilbrand, goes to the man that bid two hundred!!!"

Aetrius clenched her fists, and casually looked at Lolan and gave him a nod, signally for him to go to Kyero and Rose and to get ready to leave, watching as the winner nobleman was guided to the lower levels to claim his prize. Aetrius knew it, she knew they'd be taking the lower levels, not the exit Kyero thought. But as she turned back, Lolan had already left to fetch Kyero and Rose. She looked back at Linde and swiftly managed to leave the main auction room and swiftly began to make way to the lower levels, going after Kieran herself with Linde at her side.

Linde followed Aetrius closely as they tried to make it to the lower levels to go after Kieran, but as they began to reach the bottom of the stairwell Linde grabbed Aetri's wrist and yanked her back to stop her forward movement. Linde pulled her back and put both hands on her shoulders.

"Aetrius, we can't just go running after them blindly. Do you have some kind of plan for this? Don't forget we're unarmed and there are only two of us! The tunnels ahead are going to be lined with dozens of professional and armed soldiers whose entire purpose is protecting the winner of the auction. Also, if the winner notices the guards fighting he'll just run and Kieran will be lost to us forever!" She whispered forcefully.

She cupped Aetri's face.

"I know you want to save her but we can't if we just rush ahead with no plan of action! As long as the winner has Kieran and remains in Valoc, Kyero will find him no matter where he runs. It's what he was born to do, Aetrius. Please, have some faith."

Aetrius was determined and was going to do whatever it took to get Kieran, as she walked with Linde it was obvious. But she was not expecting to be pulled backwards by Linde and then having her face be held by Linde as she spoke, questioning if she even had a plan for this. Aetrius gritted her teeth and then spoke with a hushed but purposeful voice, "Of course I have a plan for this. I had a hunch this would happen, so...So I kind of went against Kyero's orders of things and made my own....modifications to this place." she said as she pulled the skinning knife from her boot, and then looked behind a wall and the border of it, and removed a rather large dagger from its hiding place, as well as a sword. She turned back to Linde, "I came here earlier and planted several weapons and supplies here, I wouldn't go into this so blindly." she said with a slightly hurt voice, and started to walk away from Linde and back towards her goal.

"For once, Linde...You need to put some faith in me...You can either go this way with me, or you can leave now as you still can. Up to you, but my mind isn't being changed. Not while it's this close." she turned her back and walked at a brisk pace, but stopped as she reached a doorway, seeing heavily armed guards on the otherside, but as she examined the hallway she was currently in, their was a vent or at least crawlspace into the ceiling leading out of their room, she scaled the wall and easily got it, and looked back to Linde, "Last chance...You with me or no?" she said as she held her hand down to Linde, this time if Linde rejected, Aetrius would continue on without her from here on out. Even if this would end up getting her killed by the guards, or if they got out with few casualties and she ended up getting killed from Linde herself after giving her another angry speech, this was still worth it in her eyes.

Lonán headed out of the Lion’s Inn, prepared to give Kyero the signal that the Auction was over and the Winner of Kieran was going to go for one of the exits. Then he’d wait for Linde and Aetri like planned so that they’d do their respective duties. Linde and Lonán to the Horses and Rose, and Kyero and Aetrius to Kieran. That was the plan going forward and he couldn’t wait to just travel out of this accursed city and back out onto the road to Cre’est or any of the other kingdoms again.

However, when Lonán gave the signal and waited for a minute, he started to get the faintest itch of worry in the world. A feeling so faint it is that of an ant, walking along brickwork. ”Something is going on. Something went wrong.” Lonán thought to himself. ”The winner either went somewhere else or Aetrius has gotten impatient. If it’s the latter, shoulder or no I’m going to....Heresta Damn it! I hope Kyero catches on!”

He gave a worried glance up at Kyero as if to ask what should they do now. But he knew that if they wanted a quick getaway from whatever is going on, he’d have to get Rose and round up the horses himself. Of course, Hawk would be his responsibility as he knew the stallion was stubborn in the middle of the night. He’d wait another minute, or for a Signal from Kyero to head to the Inn, then hurry to do just that.

In the tunnels, Linde looked to Aetrius with shock as she saw weapons being pulled from the walls and other hiding places. She had been with Aetrius for almost the entire day. When did she come down here without her to plant these items?

... Seems there was much more to her stealthy ways than met the eye.

When Aetrius offered her hand to Linde, she grabbed it without hesitation and hoisted herself up with Aetrius.

"I'm with you... But next time could you tell me about this before hand? You almost gave me a heart attack charging forward like that." She whispered with a smile.

Meanwhile...

Kyero observed Lonan's exit and waited for the sign to leave, and as Lonan gave him the signal that the auction was over he nodded. But there was no further confirmation of a destination like he'd told them to give him.

Kyero told them clearly that Lonan was to wait and see which exit the man took before reporting so Kyero would know exactly where to go. Aetrius must have jumped the gun and told Lonan to leave right as the auction ended before Lonan could see which exit the man/woman took.

"Dammit all!" Kyero growled on his perch and leaped off the roof, landing on the street beside Lonan.

"The time for contingencies is upon us. Go back to the inn and gather the horses and our supplies. Take them all to the South Gate and wait for us there."

With that, Kyero burst through the doors into the inn and smashed the heads of the guards near the entrance before diving down into the tunnels to find Linde and Aetrius. Whatever was going on down here, they'd need his help.

Aetrius smiled as Linde said she was with her, and that next time she has a plan to at least warn her and now scare Linde like she did. She pulled Linde up with ease and spoke softly, "Of course I had a plan. I may be incredibly bull headed at times, but I usually always have a plan, Linde. I came here earlier and planted weapons and supplies in multiple places around here as the ultimate fallback plan. I know Kyero and Lolan won't be happy with me, but I know where this tunnel leads, and I know how to get out of here. Now, from here a out, you need to follow my footsteps and listen to my every word...Got it?" she said softly and gently placed a kiss on Linde's forehead and continued on in the crawlspace, looking down through the ventilation shafts as they carefully walked, making next to no noise as they proceeded.

As they made their way through the vent, Aetrius looked down and saw plenty of guards, and saw the nobleman with Kieran making their out of the inn, I knew it.. she thought to herself and carried on, seeing as how a heavy metal gate was just passed them below, seeing the due below pass through and the door being locked back up behind them. As she observed, the nobleman passed by less guards on this way, knowing the exit was coming up soon enough, she nodded. As the guards helped open the door for them, Aetrius signed to Linde to cover her mouth and nose, and she herself dropped down from the vent, and made sure that she blocked the door behind them so the guards couldn't come in as quickly as they normally could, after making sure she was good, she covered her mouth and nose with the cape of her outfit, and took out one of the smoke bombs from its place by her hip, and use it, tossing it at the guards' feet, seeing it go off, the guards coughing and soon passing out, and seeing the nobleman run off with Kieran who looked back at Aetrius with shock as she was wisked away.

Aetrius growled and helped Linde down from the vent, and with ease they passed the guards, and while in their dazed stuper she took their weapons, handing Linde one of their swords and knives, and as well slitting their necks as she moved their leather armor from the soft spots. She knew an action like this would piss off Linde, but it needed to be done to make sure they'd have enough time to chase after Kieran. After the four guards were easily dispatched of, Aetrius and Linde left the room and carried on after them after corridor. Eventually they found the nobleman and Kieran, cornered at the final door with two guards, who turned to Aetrius and Linde, "It's the end of the line for you two." one of them said.

Aetrius grinned and with ease and her swiftness at hand, she threw her dagger and it lodged itself into one of the guard's eyes, his body crumpling to the ground. "Now, Kieran!" Aetrius exclaimed, and Kieran with just as much ease grabbed the last guard from behind and grabbed him by the back of the neck and slammed him into the wall, leaving him unconscious and crumpling to the floor. Kieran grinned as she looked at Aetrius, but was currently unsure of who she was exactly. But in her dazed state she was grabbed by the nobleman as he held a knife to her throat, "Don't make me gut this slut like the whore she is, bitch. Go back and leave us be with my, prize" he said as he looked at Kieran with desire filled eyes. Aetrius let out a groan of disgust at his actions, "Are you really all the same? Even nobleman can't be above this? Granted, you did come to this kind of event..Disgusting piece of vermin." she growled. The man looked at her and scoffed, "Oh please, bitch. This whore means nothing to you, just go." he said as he held the knife closer to Kieran's throat.

"Just go, okay? I mean nothing to you, mistress. Just get out of here with your slave already. I'm nothing more than a useless slave to them by now. You lost the auction just go alre-" she was cut off as Aetrius moved closer, closing the distance between them finally. But before she could do anything, Kieran easily whipped around and disarmed the man and slammed him into the wall face first, seeing his body go limp she dropped him on the dime and turned back to her rescuer.

"So you really don't recognize me, huh Kie?" she said softly with a bit of sadness in her tone. "Why would I know who you...wait...K...Korriban?" she asked softly, her voice filled with surprise and shock, as well as happiness as her eyes filled with tears as she looked at Aetrius. Aetrius smiled and nodded, her own eyes beginning to fill with tears, "H-heh, yeah...H-hey, big sis." Aetrius said softly as she finally closed the distance between them, and gently caressed Kieran's right cheek, looking at Kieran who was now slightly shorter than her. Perhaps it was the scars, or maybe the fact that Aetrius was now older and looked slightly different or maybe even Kieran began to forget what she looked like, but Aetrius knew that deep down Kieran recognized her. Kieran's eyes filled with more tears and immediately clung to Aetrius as she realized it was her sister, the two holding tightly to each other as they wept for a moment, holding each other tightly, finally being reunited at last. Aetrius gently wiped Kieran's tears away and gently kissed her forehead and took a step back, "All will be explained soon, I promise you. But we need to get out of here, now. We have more people waiting for us outside, we'll escape by the south gate. Now, you with us, Kie?" she asked, Kieran looked at Aetrius and nodded then looked at Linde, "Are you really a noblewoman now or...is she your girlfriend?" she questioned as she eyed Linde some, Aetrius chuckled at her comment and shook her head, handing Kieran a weapon of her own, as well as some of the clothing from the nobleman as she would need some protection from what was to ensue.

"This is Linde..My...My girlfriend, yes. All will be explained later with some drinks, okay? Just now we need to get you out of here, and by now I can bet that more guards are on their way...Speak of the devil..." she muttered as at least ten heavily armed and armored guards charged into their escape route and looked at them as they prepared to take on three barely equipped women. Aetrius looked at Kieran, "You with me on this, Kie?" she asked, Kieran looked at her sister and nodded with an evil smirk, "Always, sis." she said as the two stood infront of Linde, blades in a defensive stance and ready to take on as many guards as they could until Lolan and Kyero came to help, which would hopefully be soon. "Heresta help us..." she murmured.

Not saying another word at Kyero’s instructions, Lonán nodded and headed right for the Pony and gained Rose’s help in gathering the horses and their supplies. He changed back into his armor and pulled on his cloak. Then he went to his biggest challenge of the night, Hawk. The Stallion opened a tired eye and gave a huff to Lonán as he approached.

”I know it’s late Hawk but it’s time to get out of this city. We have to go boy.” He said rubbing the horse’s neck as Hawk shook his head to try and wake himself up. As Lonán got on his saddle and prepared to get on him to test the saddle’s fastenings, Hawk decided to have a little fun at his Master’s expense. He moved to the side, causing Lonán to fall butt first into the hay, as the horse gave a tired neigh as a sign of laughter.

”Hawk, you’re lucky I consider you my best friend, otherwise I’d sell you.” The Saharan said annoyed as he got up and groaned a bit, his injured shoulder giving him a bit of pain. The stallion butted his head against him in worry. ”I injured my shoulder a few nights ago. Did something stupid. Don’t scold me.” Lonán said to the horse as he stroked his head.

After a small tender few seconds Lonán helped Rose round up the other horses, which included Aetrius’ Bree. Then he began to head towards the South Gate, waiting for the others to get there so that they can leave Valoc, and hopefully Veilbrand for good. ”If Only I didn’t have my injured shoulder I’d help. Oh well, as long as I know I’m getting a good shred of my Family’s Honor back. Oh Heresta be with them.” He thought as he went with his responsibilities in tow.

As the ten guards approached the three women, suddenly a giant red splatter erupted onto the walls from the back of the group accompanied by a horrible shriek. The guards froze and turned just in time to see another splatter spray across the ceiling, and just like that two of their men were dead.

"What the fuck?!" Yelled one guard.

"It's the Red-ACK!" Screamed another as his head was lopped off and kicked over the group rolling to Aetrius and Kieran's feet with Linde in the back going a bit pale.

"Oh no..."

Three down, seven to go. And despite the confined space within the tunnels Kyero moved as if he was out in the open fields. Every millimeter of space was taken advantage of. Sometimes he was so close to being cut by their weapons the others were certain he had been cut. But he didn't take a single slice as his brightly glowing red eyes illuminated the tunnel.

The first of seven approached from the right side aiming to take his head off. Kyero ducked under it, the blade missing his hair by a single millimeter at best. His left hand dagger shot out and disemboweled the man causing him to fall to his knees holding his entrails in his shocked hands.

The second approached from the right immediately after giving him no time to change his direction. However, he didn't need to. Instead, he simply parried the incoming blade with his own and used his left blade to slice the man's body from groin all the way out the top of his skull splitting the front of his body in half, but leaving his spinal chord in tact so it couldn't fall apart completely.

The third and fourth attacked at the same time, with Kyero flipping over both of them by planting his daggers down through their skulls and out their bottom jaws. As his feet touched down he pushed the blades forward splitting their heads, and by proxy their faces, down the center. They both fell forward with their eyes beginning to fall out of the sockets and brains spilling out the open split.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh all tried to rush him in a triangle formation, and Kyero responded by planting the blades into the ground and using them as a hand-held platform to lift his lower body into the air and extend a spinning double kick around to kick all of them in the head sending them flying to the ground. Yanking the blades out without ever touching the ground, he flipped onto his feet and extended the blades outwards to decapitate all three as they stood up.

Kyero put his blades away and glared up at Aetrius and Kieran, catching a glimpse of Linde in the back looking horrified at his appearance.

"... Glad to see you found her, but you forgot to wait to show Lonan which exit the winner was going through before sending him to report to me..." Kyero growled, his eyes flashing brilliantly before returning to their normal glow level.

Aetrius and Kieran were prepared to fight off as many as they could, but before even their blades clashed with the guards', blood splattered and covered the room and utter chaos and mayhem rang out as an all too familiar figure entered the room. Kyero... Lolan did get him, good. But after the bloodbath ended, Aetrius looked at Kyero who stood up and with an obviously angry tone spoke to her. Aetrius glared back at Kyero and spoke up, "You don't always have to be the one to do this, ya know? We would have been just fine without you coming in at that very moment. While I do appreciate your help, I could have-No, would have handled this by myself." she said angrily as she examined the room. Kieran looked at Aetrius, then back at Kyero with a look of shock and confusion. "Wait...Let me get this right. That's Kyero, the Red Eyed Demon, and you...You're friends with him, Korriban?" she asked in an obviously very confused state.

Aetrius looked at her as she quickly looted the bodies for what she could get, which was some money and more armor tossing it to Kieran who quickly put it on, even with the quickly drying blood. "Look, a lot has happened in the past few years...We'll talk about it all later when we're not fleeing for our lives, but yes. Kyero and I are, other guess you could say friends. While he is deadly, he is an ally to us, okay? Just trust me on this, Kieran." she said standing back up, now with some leather armor of her own and sheathed one of the swords by her side. Kieran looked on in confusion at the new friends that her sister acquired, "Okay...But you'll owe me a few drinks, got that? You know I can't take much in when I'm sober." she said with a light chuckle. Aetrius grinned and nodded, "After all of this is done, I think we'll all need some drinks...Now, let's get back to Lolan and Rose, we need to get out of here." she said as she pressed on, back the way they came. As Aetrius led them, Kieran walked beside her and whispered in her ear, "So, Linde...She's your girlfriend, huh? Finally landed one, aye old chap? Took ya long enough, sis. She's also rather hot, if I'm gonna be honest." she said with a chuckle at the end, purposefully trying to make Aetrius get flustered.

She groaned at Kieran's comment about Linde and continued marching on down the tunnel, "Yes, Linde is...She's something. But don't let her pretty face fool you, she's...terrifying at times." she gave a slight chuckle, but contained a serious look on her face and led the others to another part of the tunnels, seeing more guards flood the underground, "Don't let them escape!" one of them shouted. Aetrius grinned and peered over at Kieran, who only looked at her and grinned back, knowing exactly what she was planning on as she noticed her go for the pouch by her side, "I think it's wise to cover your nose and mouth, you two." she said as Kieran and Aetrius did so, and Aetrius took out the second to last smoke bomb, and tossed it at the soldiers. A cloud of smoke filled the room and coughing could be heard, and as the soldiers struggled, Aetrius and Kieran charged them keeping their mouths covered until the smoke died down and engaged in combat as they had the upper hand thanks to some masks they procured. When the dust settled, it revealed Aetrius and Kieran standing victorious over four dead bodies, as Kieran and Aetrius dispatched of the final guard together, both plunging their swords into his chest and abdomen, dropping his lump body to the ground. Aetrius motioned the others to join them as they proceeded to escape the tunnels and out of Valoc.

Kyero simply glared at Aetrius as she made her remarks about having been fine without him.

"It wasn't about doing it alone. It was about sticking to the plan."

He sighed.

"Fine. So long as you have your sister back let's get out of here."

Kyero and Linde followed Aetri and Kieran out of the tunnels and into Valoc proper and headed for the South Gate on Kyero's urging since that's where he sent Lonan. He and Rose would meet them there.

"Stick with these two, Linde. I'm going to scout ahead and make sure your path remains clear."

Linde nodded and Kyero departed for the rooftops leaving her in the care of the sisters.

"So... Kieran?" She called as she jogged up beside them.

"I don't believe we've formally met. My name is Linde Xe' Almna. It's a pleasure to meet you after all I've heard." She said, extending her hand to Kieran.

Aetrius glared just as hard back at Kyero as he spoke, he had a point but she wasn't as foolish or naive as he made her out to be. She nodded as he left and made her way to the horses where Lolan and Rose were and spoke with Rose, "We'll be getting you out of here soon, sweetheart." she gave the girl a smile, which resulted in Rose smiling back. Kieran had turned to look at Linde as she introduced herself and smiled a bit, "Pleasure to meet you, hun. Name's Kieran Borral, obviously I'm Korriban's sister. Glad to see she found someone to be with, always told her she would. Glad to know she got someone who's not bad on the eyes." she said as she looked up at Aetrius, who only glared at her as she tossed Kieran a robe to put on.

"Good god, Kie. You're still like this, even now? And it's Aetrius, no longer Korriban..." she said as she felt her face turning a bright shade of red as Kieran commented on Linde's appearance. "Still like what? A tease? Yes, yes I am. And Aetrius, huh? Interesting choice, but okay." She said with a grin and put the robe on, covering her mostly unclothed form and to disguise herself for the most part. "You'll ride with Rose, Kieran. Linde, you're with me." she said as she helped Linde by pulling her onto the back of Bree, and they adjusted themselves properly on the horses, Aetrius grabbed the reigns and looked towards the others, "Let's get out of this shit hole, shall we?" she said as she led the others where Kyero had gone, making sure the way was indeed safe. Kieran looked at Aetrius as they began their way out, "So, who's the kid? Another friend or what?" she asked in reference to Rose who she was stuck with for this portion. "Rose? She was a slave, like us....Helped her get out, and am going to help her start over when we get out of here."

Kieran gave her a smile and a soft chuckle, "Always were surprisingly soft when it came to kids, and slaves...Haven't changed a bit, have you?" she chuckled softly. Aetrius chuckled as well and shook her head, "When people deserve freedom, yes. As for changing...There's more than you know, Kie..Again, for another time though." she said as she looked back at Linde and gave her a sheepish smile, "P-promise you're not mad at me?" she said a bit nervously as she looked back ahead of them, preparing to receive a hit on the head or worse from Linde as a form of reprimand for pulling a stunt that could have ended far worse.

Linde listened to the exchange between Kieran and Aetri and chuckled softly. And by the time they were on horseback, she wrapped her arms around Aetri's stomach and sighed contently as she rested her head on Aetri's shoulder.

When Aetri asked to promise that she wasn't mad, Linde only smiled and closed her eyes.

"... I'm not mad, my love." She whispered.

She leaned up and kissed Aetri's cheek, then put her head back on her shoulder.

"But I am getting sleepy... I don't suppose we can quickly make camp outside of the city can we? I don't know how much longer I can stay awake." She said softly.

Meanwhile, as they approached the South Gate, Kyero was there waiting for them having already knocked out the guards stationed there and thrown their bodies inside a nearby shack.
