Description

Name: Marcus Keller
Picture:
Image

Description: At first glance, Marcus is a fairly unremarkable man, if a bit on the lean side. From under a mop of messy brown hair, his eyes hold an alert, steely gaze that appears to be permanently set in a slight frown. He also has a penchant for drab, practical clothing. Preferably with as many hidden pockets as humanly possible.

Age: 24
Sex: Male
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 140lbs
Voice Type: Baritone
Body Type: Ectomorph

Theme: Divinity Original Sin 2 OST - Sebille's Theme

Weapons and Equipment: The only weapon Marcus feels that he needs is a simple dagger, or better yet a whole belt of them in case he needs a throwing knife handy. He would rather crack someone over the head with a blackjack than get his hands bloody if he can help it, though. For those occasions where a quick getaway is in order, the odd smoke bomb and handful of caltrops are enough to discourage any would-be pursuers.

Personality: Marcus is a born cynic. A graduate from the school of hard knocks who harbours a general distrust of people, especially those who possess great wealth and political power. Towards fellow thieves, however, he feels slightly more inclined to trust them. While not normally known to crack a smile (in the company of others at least) he does have a certain fondness for sarcasm. Despite possessing the necessary skills to kill from the shadows, Marcus would rather avoid spilling blood unless absolutely necessary. After all, why murder a witness and risk attracting more attention when you can focus on not being seen in the first place?

Biography: In any given city, one can be expected to find beggars, street urchins, the dregs of an urban environment. Veilbrand is no different. Marcus was one of these poor folk, scrounging and stealing just to survive. Possessed of a natural cunning that many of his fellows lacked, Marcus set his sights on more than just a handful of coins or a loaf of bread. Despite running afoul of the authorities on several occasions, he was quick to give them the slip, and return to his thievery learning where he slipped up that got him caught.

Over the years, he refined his skills as a thief. From simple pickpocketing all the way up to breaking into a noble's mansion and making off with the silverware. He was able to afford to rent a room for himself in one of the poorer areas of the capitol city, and with the money he made from each little heist, Marcus built up his own little arsenal of tricks and traps. It was neither easy nor cheap to find the people willing to sell that kind of stuff, of course, but well worth the investment. The habit of a lifetime became a lucrative career.

The recent political climate in Veilbrand has given Marcus no small amount of work. Plenty of the common folk are disgruntled enough with the current ruler to voice their dissent, albeit behind closed doors. For now, the potential instigators of rebellion sit in their safehouses and plot the downfall of their nation's oppressive dictator, employing a motley collection of agents like Marcus to gather information, "acquire" funds, or "procure" weapons. It was during these interesting times that he met a colourful jester woman named Jeanne. After seeing through her initial attempt to rob him blind, and learning that she too came seeking profitable ventures of a legally dubious nature, he accepted her offer of partnership. There was only so much he could do on his own, after all...

So begins...
