The crowd screams, the guards turn, but the thief has already vanished -Lanz
Normal: Sarcastic, flirtatious, patronising, helpful and a kleptomaniac. Lanz is full of opposites and wishes to live life the way he wants. The thief is prone to deep thinking and reflection, particularly for animals. He scoffs at drama and is practical above all else. Often gives money he has stolen to beggars and children and tries to only steal from those who can afford it. Otherwise, he steals from cheats and liars. He has a great fondness of the arts and a strong appreciation for the traditions that created it.
Angry: When angered, Lanz becomes icy and cold to most people around him and is willing to hurt anyone who stands in his way, aside from attractive woman and small children. If he is pushed into a full out rage he loses control of his actions and will attack blindly and wildly, continuing to press his attack until his opponent falls or defeats him beyond the shadow of a doubt.
Clothing: A simple dark brown shirt, black leather boots reaching to just underneath his knee, dark brown trousers and dark brown leather gloves reaching up to his elbow with a golden chain around his neck. His clothing contains several hidden pockets within which he can store what he steals from those around him.
Weaponry: A black leather whip he keeps coiled in the belt at his waist and two trench knives. The trench knives are made from the highest quality steel and he sharpened to near perfection. He maintains the knives regularly to keep the blades sharp and ready for any situation that may require their use. The whip is used for immobilizing his enemies and snatching any object he can wind it around. Five throwing knives are hidden in his belt, and he carries a bow and quiver. His arrows are fletched with swan feathers and reside in the quiver on his back.
Pen and Ink: Lanz carries around a pen and small bottle of ink in his shirt. Though he sometimes uses the ink to blind enemies, he usually uses it to write and draw either messages or pictures. It is the same colour as blood, and he has used it to fake his death multiple times in the past. However, the ink is also a deadly poison known as Cantarella. It can be ingested or absorbed through the skin and is always fatal in the right quantities. The nib of the pen always carries a few drops of it for emergencies.
Birth: Born to peasants, Lanz always aspired for more. His mother was a maid and his father was a merchant, but the young man would not settle for that sort of life.
Childhood: Lanz tried to attend the most prestigious schools, but they would not allow him to even try because of his weak bloodline and heritage. Furious at the laws of the nobility, he punished them by stealing the belongings of the rich lords and ladies whenever they appeared as they walked down the streets. He attended one of the poorer schools out of necessity but left at age twelve.
Adolescence: Lanz was raised with the belief that most nobles were kind and fair, however he soon learned to abandon those teachings when he saw the truth behind their high and mighty existence. The young thief stole to survive when his mother grew ill and discovered he had a passion and a calling for it. His escapades grew grander and larger until he was finally stopped by an older and much wiser thief. The thief told him that he should not draw so much attention to himself, and that the guards were disrupting the business of the rest of the underworld because of his activities. Apparently, many of the underworld veterans were considering killing him to appease the authorities and get them off their backs.
Adulthood Lanz complied and has become more secretive, living life how he wanted and never allowing anything to compromise his freedom. He has been relatively unaffected by the affairs of the city or it's affiliates and continues his life as one of the greatest thieves in the world. He holds a conscious belief that he is better than other people and spends much of his time roaming the upper-class areas of any city he visits, whether it's to steal from a lord or simply admire some art.
