GENERAL APPEARANCE
Much like his constellation, Hoshi's appearance exudes luminescence. His silky strands are as white as the light his star emits, his eyes are a startling rubicund that holds a light of their own like a glowing flame, and his flesh is as pale as they come. He can normally be spotted in his standard crisp white button up, slacks, and loose black tie underneath a plain hoodie because he feels like his apparel was in need of a casual touch. With his boyish features, this guardian can easily be underestimated especially when he widens those big red eyes for you, however that's just the illusion he wants his enemies to have.

ImagePERSONALITY
Reckless Careless Clever Manipulative Ostentatious Blunt

Hoshi is a crucible of quirks. He's a fun loving guy with an overwhelming need to explore and branch out. However, with his job it's a bit hard to do so, which is why he tends to bend the rules a tad in order to have his day in the sun. He's reckless in everything he does, preferring to go big or go home. Much like the brightest star, Hoshi is radiant. He's honest and loyal to those he's close to, but to the people that he's unfamiliar with, Hoshi tends to be a bit insensitive.

One thing that can be said about Hoshi is that he's extremely clever. When he puts his mind to it, he's actually capable of forming an effective plan. Sadly, he doesn't have the attention span to always think rationally. He uses his wit for mischief rather than plans, playing pranks and tricking his fellow guardians. It's all in good fun though. He's very manipulative, but he makes an effort to use his ability to mold minds for the greater good. Since he gets bored relatively easily, Hoshi likes to fool around quite a bit. This is also why he likes to play mind games regularly.

Overall, Hoshi is an asset to the Celestials. He sees them as his family and he will go as far as to say that he loves them all dearly. Even if there is bad blood between him and one of them, he'll still love them and protect them with his life. He's made it his mission to keep his family safe at all cost-...even if he has to perish in the process. They come first.

ImageImageLIKES

Pranks; He's a certified trickster. Star-gazing; There are moments when he misses home. Sword Fighting / Fencing It's a hobby of his. Bright Lighting; The brightness reminds him of home. Spicy Food; There is nothing like a plate of wasabi sushi to light up an evening.

ImageImageDISLIKES

Tedious Questions; They annoy him immensely. The Dark; He gets very uncomfortable when there is no light around him, but he's able to handle it, nonetheless. Silence; If there is silence of any kind, Hoshi feels compelled to fill it with idle singing or excessive tapping. Sour Food;it just doesn't appeal to him. Closed Spaces He needs to branch out.

ImageFAMILY
As a guardian, Hoshi doesn't have an actual family, however he strongly considers the celestial and guardians the only family he'll ever need.

BIO
While still a star, Hoshi has always wondered what else was out there. In a universe so vast and spacious, what secrets does it all hold. He yearned to discover more and explore the unknown, but it was next to impossible for him, however, being so close to Earth, he was able to get a glimpse of it's changes. He watched strange tubes of power launch into space and obit the planet, he saw the lights twinkling on its surface, and he heard the sound waves that their devices gave off. He was enthralled by the possibility that people were actually thriving near him. Aurora called them humans and Hoshi wanted to see one with his own eyes.

So, when the Celestials descended onto Earth, Hoshi was excited to join them as a Guardian. He took his job very seriously at first, but as the years ticked by he's become more lenient and began sneaking off to observe the human lifestyle when he was sure that his charges were safe and sound. Everything about mankind fascinated him; the food, the technology, the educational system. On a few occasions, he'd talk to some of them, but it never lasts long because he fears that too much time with him would end in ruin. So, periodically, he'd show up in people's lives and leave only to reappear days, weeks, maybe even months later without explanation. It led many to believe that he wasn't real and was an imaginary friend that they conjured up in a moment of loneliness.

It is the afternoon of the seventeenth of March, 2854. It is almost nighttime.
It is fairly warm, and it is the night of the planet alignment. All of Japan is full of activity and commotion, with celebrations nearing their start. No human knows what to expect-- especially not the awakening of new celestials. With powers beginning to awaken, and the old celestials and guardians out on the hunt, the night will be anything but simple.

From atop the shrine, his gaze falls upon the moon as it rises in the east. All around him fireflies dance, their lights bright in the dim glow of the sunset as the koi pond below acts as a mirror; everything is reflected against its surface. Pastels paint the horizon as orange bleeds across the sky, glowing in the ripples of the water as it gently caressed the treeline. The forest with hemmed the shrine offered quiet solitude for him and the celestials inside, closing them off from the rest of the world. It did naught to make the Moon feel less lonely as he looked up at the sky. While seeing Mars and Jupiter from his perch brought a fond smile to his countenance, it was the moon that brought back wave upon wave of bittersweet nostalgia. He longed to go home but something was keeping him here, something he couldn't readily identify. In retrospect, he doubts he ever will. Yoru has enjoyed his time spent on earth after his descent. He felt in a way he's never been able to as a spectator, interacted with those he could only pass by in orbit. He's learned what he can, watched humanity grow and advance as time passed. He's mourned the loss of his loved ones, wept over the graves of the few humans he held dear. He celebrated their birthdays as well as those of his kind, taking up celebration with them with earnest. He's lived a life so profound and endless that one would think he's experienced all life had to offer. Most would have given up by now, given themselves over to the cosmos in the most natural death a celestial could experience-...but not the Moon.

Something was keeping the celestial here and he didn't know it was the alignment of the planets or something more. For the humans the days approached the alignment of the planets have been filled with anxiety, curiosity, excitement, and dread. Some believed it to mark the end of the world while others saw it as a time of renewal, a chance to celebrate the earth's presence in the universe after so many years. Yoru knew it to bring something else.

The Awakening. They felt it almost a year ago and somehow knew it marked the return of those they lost during the "energy crisis" so long ago when they gave up their lives for the safety of the humans. Yoru thought it unlikely—and still does to this day—that they had any affect on the humans at all. It was almost as if they'd given themselves up for nothing, in his opinion, but that didn't mean he held them at fault. He couldn't blame them for not wanting to be away from home anymore, to be so cut off from that which you've known all your life. Bonding with other celestial only goes so far, he supposed.

Uranus was no different, he mused. There isn't a day goes by where he doesn't think of his former lover. She was his first love, the only celestial he'd ever fallen for. He could never hate her for leaving, even if they had ended on bad terms the night before she left. He hadn't wanted her to go. What lover would? He tried to convince her to stay but he's come to accept that she had her reasons for going-...he just doesn't know what they are. There's a sliver of hope in him that when she's reborn she'll still remember him, that she'll tell him why she felt like she had to leave, but it's slim. Still, he's naive enough to believe it, and optimistic enough for it to drive his search as the hour of planet alignment draws near.

For the past couple of days he's been searching for her, taking Neptune as company. They were assigned Uranus and Mercury, two celestials they both had attachment towards. But where Uranus was his lover, Mercury was on of the Moon's best friends. Regardless of their emotional attachment to the first celestials, Eguzki assigned them in accordance to their powers. The abilities of inheritance would presumably be unstable inside the reincarnated bodies, a factor the Sun took into account. So with Yoru's ability of intangibility in contrast to Uranus's quintessence force and Sanraku's ability of hypnosis for Mercury's hyper cognition, they should be able to handle any explosion of power they come across. Despite Eguzki's predisposition towards the new celestials, he still took his role as leader. The goal right now was to find them. Whatever next step they took after that remained to be seen.

Right now though, Yoru didn't want to go looking for them. He knew the risk, knew that it was imperative that they be alert tonight of all nights, but that didn't quell the dread he felt. What if they didn't remember him—Uranus or Mercury? Just how much of their old selves carried on, if any at all? Being forgotten wasn't exactly something he wanted to face, nor did he wanted to be scolded by his other brother for wanting to watch the planets align instead of search for the others. So as he hops down from the roof, Yoru sets his sights towards the section of the shrine where the guardians slept.

Moving with sneakers on his feet, the celestial was already dressed for a day out on the town amongst humans. Kimonos, he found, weighed him down too much to be comfortable so he rarely wore them, which didn't really bode well with the head honcho. But he digressed. Aiming his focus, Yoru makes his way to the room of his best friend. He finds the star with his back to him and the sliding door ajar, ivory hair holding an amber tint in the light of dusk. As Sirius sharpens his sword, Yoru uses the distraction to his advantage and tiptoes across the floor. His hand is made intangible as he reaches into the guardian's pocket, transferring the affect to the cherished coin he keeps on his person before pulling it out.

Holding it concealed in his palm, Yoru backs out of the room and stands at the door with a grin, knocking gently before he says, "Hey Sirius! Want to come watch the alignment with me?" as he turns to meet Yoru's gaze, the celestial grins, "I'll need someone to make sure I don't get in trouble. Come with me or you'll never see your precious coin again-..." the threat is a facetious one, one passed back and forth between friends for centuries. As he speaks, Yoru flips the coin and holds it on display in his fingers before smiling so bright his eyes close in its wake.

✭Procyon✭
March 17th, 2854 || The Shrine

Gold colored eyes reflecting in a pond of deep, murky blue. The puddles of melted snow had been abundant and a chill continued to steep the air despite the late spring weather. A long finger poked out from a long pale pink yukata sleeve and made it's way into the collection of water, causing ripples on the smooth surface. Slowly, bubbles began to rise. At first it seemed to be just a random coincidence, but then a steady stream made it's way to the surface and the edges of the puddle began to slowly recede until there was nothing left but a steaming pile of dry earth.

The Guardian rose to her feet, dusting off the silky material of her old fashioned outfit and walking at a crawl's pace to her room. She tucked a hand into the obi and pulled out a small yellow taffy. In one swift motion she untwisted the wrapper until the sticky, bare confection lay flat in her palm. Popping it into her mouth, Yui savored the taste and continued to her living corridors. It was about time that she changed out of the robe and into clothing that would be more... accepted in modern day Japan.

Upon kicking off her shoes outside, Yui picked them up and made her way inside the living space. A hologram was playing on mute in the corner on top of a bamboo desk. She had gotten the device for herself a while ago, deciding that because of the convergence of the planets she would need to keep up with the news. The bed in the center of the room that was normally made up neatly was a mess of multicolored sheets. Carefully, the female began to undo the garment that Eguzki himself had picked out for her. Meticulously, Yui hung each piece up separately and exchanged it for a blue seifuku and plaid scarf.

In order to hide her Guardian star, Yui pulled out two clips that had been holding her hair back and allowed her pinkish orange bangs to fall into her face. She fingered the strands that had gotten to shoulder length and reached for a pair of sheers on the light brown desk.

Careful to not make a mess, she stood in front of the mirror and placed a towel on the ground. Snip! Went a particularly long piece of hair that had been bugging her for quite some time. Snip, snip, snip! A few more until Yui deemed it a proper length that would not overheat her neck. She put the metal scissors back in place and riffled through her drawers for one last thing. Her fingertips brushed the pair of red frames before her yellow eyes spotted them. Yui frowned, the lenses were smudged with fingerprints; she wiped them down on the shirt of her fake school uniform and placed them on the tip of her nose before pushing them up to the bridge with one finger. The red frames were a distracting enough color from the unnatural prism that was her orbs.

There! Now Yui was ready to go! She turned around to glance at the glaring red numbers of a holographic clock and took a step back. Eh?! It was still too early! "I guess I'll go see what everyone else is up to?" Yui mumbled to herself and closed the doors to her room behind her. The wooden floors creaked beneath her socked feet and occasionally, the female slid silently across the floor, attempting to hold in giggles of glee for fear of annoying or stirring a Celestial.

She came to an abrupt halt in front of Sirius's living corridors. Hoping he hadn't left yet with the Moon yet, Procyon gave it two knocks before sliding open the thin door enough to look inside. The Moon's back was to her, although she could see he was holding up something that appeared to be of value; not to her, but to her fellow Guardian. She frowned and shut it quickly, in no way did Yui want to interrupt whatever it was they were doing.

Sticking her hands in her pockets she wondered who she could call upon at this time for entertainment until they had reached the hour to leave. "Neptune!" Yui snapped her fingers and slid across the freshly polished floor (she knew this for Procyon had, had to polish it herself) to the door that was his. Again Yui knocked twice, although this time she opened it a bit more. "Pardon me Neptune," Yui gave a curt bow. "But I've come bearing gifts," she pulled a mint chocolate wrapped in sparkly paper from the pocket of her clothing and held it out to him in hopes he would accept it.

Yui did not like the mint ones.

{March 17, 2854 Kamakura Shrine}

Image

The metallic clang of metal against steel, the melodic chirp of robins nestling in trees, and the gentle wisps of air passing through his lips were the soundtrack to his afternoon. Artisan fingers caress the length of his sword as he runs the metal file along its lethal edge. Slowly, he raises his rubicund gaze to the window only to spot Jupiter and Mars gradually moving into place far beyond his reach. He’s never witnessed anything like it and for reasons unbeknownst to him, the sight renders him both anxious and excited.

A year ago, if one would have asked him if he’d think that the celestials would ever be reunited with their lost family, he would have made it quite clear that he thought it was bullshit, but now that he’s paying witness to a phenomenon like none other he just feels it in the marrow of his bones that something was coming—something that will change lives for the better…and the worse. As he slides the file along the shining surface of his weapon, he thinks back to the years before the energy crisis…before sacrifices were made and tears were shed and hearts scathed by the loss of those they held dear—before he lost Venus.

Although he considers the Moon to be his closest friend, there was a time when he had another individual in his corner. The Morning Star had been there when he needed him most, comforted him when he experienced complete hopelessness and heartbreak. He told Venus things that he’s never even mentioned to Moon; his everlasting love for the lunar celestial, being one of them. They were so close and then…he was just gone; no explanation, no closure. Thinking about it still hurts. He tries to focus on the positive aspect. Venus will be back and they can go back to the way it was like nothing happened, at least that’s what he hopes. There’s just so much room for error; what if he doesn’t remember him? What if he’s not the same? What if he’s the reason he left? What if? Hoshi blinks, a frown stretching along his face. He’s not sure if he can handle that kind of rejection from someone that he cared for and mourned for years on end. The sword's monotonous clang does little to distract him from the torrent of doubt that’s churning in his head.

That’s why the Moon’s interruption is utterly Heaven sent. He glances over his shoulder and as per usual, he basks in the Moon’s ethereal glow. He’ll never get tired of seeing him because just like that, his worries subside when his gaze falls on that smile. He can’t help but return it with one of his own.

"Hey Sirius! Want to come watch the alignment with me?" The lunar celestial grins. Hoshi pushes his sword back in its sheath and places it on the rack before he’s completely facing his companion. He cocks a brow, however, he spots a little red hair peeking out right behind the Moon. He smiles, fondly, already knowing who the little fireball was before she closes the door and moves on. He makes a mental note to talk to Procyon before the night is over. Turning his attention back to the Moon, he catches sight of the something shiny in his hand. He furrows his brows, digging into his pockets to check if his suspicions are valid. Moon makes an effort to reinforce his theory with a playful threat. "I'll need someone to make sure I don't get trouble. Come with me or you'll never see your precious coin again-..."

Once again, Sirius can’t help but smile at how lively the object of his affection is. It’s like a breath of fresh air after the series of dark thoughts he had been having plague his mind since he’s seen the alignment in action. “Your ability to persuade me is uncanny,” he muses as he taps into his abilities. Unbeknownst to the Moon, the Hoshi that he believes he’s conversing with is merely an illusion and the real star is shielding himself from his sight as he slips behind him and snags the captive coin from its kidnapper’s fingers. As soon as it’s safe in his grasp, he breaks the illusion, revealing himself and allowing his double to fade into oblivion. “However, it doesn’t always work out the way you expect it to, Moon.” He smirks, flipping the coin and catching it, effortlessly. “Nevertheless, consider me persuaded.” He pockets the coin that Moon gave to him long ago as a token of their kinship as he leans against the door frame with an everlasting grin on his face. He’s nervous about what the alignment may bring, but with the Moon at his side, he’s sure he’ll make it through this unscathed.
