Erika has quite the diminutive height. This was specially cultivated by her family. While Estelle was tall and curvaceous, and Eamon was average but lanky, they wanted Erika to be a little porcelain princess to finish the trio of siblings and adjusted her diet as such. Her hair was worn long and commonly seen in two spiraling twin tails that can reach the floor if she let it. Under her bangs are eyes that are sharper than her quiet and shy voice would indicate, hinting at something hidden under the soft exterior. All in all, Erika was designed to look as un-threatening and peaceful as possible.

I'd die to be where you are.

Every night, I dream you're still here.
The ghost by my side, so perfectly clear.

Erika was born into the established Harrington family, with wealth and privilege and good fortune. And, of course, magic. From birth her parents could sense the power within their younger daughter and knew that to keep her safe from the Crusader Corps Central, they had to make her shy and quiet and subservient to authority, lest tragedy befall the girl. She was raised specifically for this purpose, even if she burned with envy as Eamon was allowed to play with friends after school, or Estelle attended violin competition after violin competition. She was allowed to practice her flute at home though. She mingled little with the other two families, the Langleys or Remingtons.

Erika always was a principled girl. This was helped by the efforts of Edmund and Rosemary, who were more progressive than either the Langleys or the Remingtons. They taught their children the virtues of charity, of caring for others, of being a good person. While Erika never quite became obsessed with justice the way Estelle was, she took to the lessons nicely. Eamon took a little more work but despite his rough edges, her twin brother was good at the core. He only bullied his younger sister to a minimum, and knew to defer to Estelle's authority when he needed to. All in all, Edmund and Rosemary were proud of their children.

Eventually, Erika entered middle school, at Miss Everett's Girl's Academy. It was there she found she was classmates with a childhood friend from noble family meetings, a certain Seraphina Remington. The two girls were like fire and ice - Erika was calm and polite while Seraphina was out-going and fiery. Despite this, the two always got along and eventually friendship became curiosity became love. The prodigy was always a perceptive child and she knew something was troubling her friend but the policy among the three Nobles was not to pry in each other's business, so she never asked of the bruises or the bandages. Seraphina never confided, either. While her parents found it a little strange that two girls could love, Eamon was always there to defend her, saying he'd rather Seraphina than any uncouth guy out there. Interestingly enough, Eamon always had two girls at both arms and nothing Edmund or Rosemary could do would change his lady-killing ways.

One day, Estelle brought home a man. He was from the other side of the wall, but was an expert violinist as well. He was a poor sort, as everyone on that side was. At first, Edmund and Rosemary were accepting of their eldest daughter's decision. This acceptance quickly turned into distrust as they realized Hans the Violinist had connections to members of the Revolution. Currently, the Revolution was just a group of poor people with too many ideas and not the means to make them real. While the Harringtons were kind to the poor, they still believed that power should remain with the wealthy. Moreover, they were not fans of violence and they made sure to rebuke Estelle of her choice, driving Hans out of the Harrington Estate.

Later, at a music variety show Estelle invited Erika and Eamon out to, something terrible happened. These shows were exclusively for the rich, as they were the only ones who could afford a luxury like music, and this drew the ire of the commoners. The Revolution struck, lightning the entire building on fire. It was their first coordinated attack, and quite a few of the wealthy met their ends. "I have to stop them." Estelle decided, casting a spell to try to strike down the revolutionaries. She disappeared into the inferno as Eamon pulled Erika to safety, never letting go of his twin sister's hand. "We have to trust she'll come home, Berry." His voice was ragged, his knees were shaking, but he had to be brave for his younger sister. "She's strong, she can handle it." But Estelle didn't come home. There was no sign whatsoever she had even died or lived. No body, no traces, there was nothing left. The entire Harrington family mourned and this led to the beginning of a harsher crackdown by the wealthy upon the poor.

Erika was different. As many, even Eamon, began to show disdain for the poor, Erika knew they acted out of desperation, not hatred. They didn't have enough food and were expecting to work long hard hours for little money. She decided then, to be an advocate to those who are unable to defend themselves, becoming the Blue Lotus and donning a special outfit. She had great magical potential? Well, it was time to tap into that power, wasn't it? At first it began by stopping petty crimes like theft or mugging, but when Eamon took her to attend an auction hosted by the Remington Family, Erika locked eyes with a certain white haired cat who might very well be mistreated.

It was time to be a hero.

In Min City, there existed three major families. Controlling the Residential District, where the largest population of people lived, was the Langley Family. Old and powerful, the Langleys were in charge of many things. Building houses, property value, establishing parks and schools and other necessities was part of their duty. As for the Industrial District, it was under influence of the Remington family. You could consider them to be the most powerful of the three, and that was why they were in charge of the monetary powerhouse of the city. Under their foot were the big and small companies, the factories, and other such necessities residents wouldn't want near their homes. Last but not least was the Harrington family. They, too, were a very old family and they commandeered the Port District. This meant they had to do with foreign trade and imports, exports, as well as the fishing industry. They also were in charge of windmills and watermills to help power the city.

And together the three families worked in unison to keep their home strong and powerful.

Today, in the fancy Halloway Hall, an event was taking place. "Let's go, stop being so slow." Eamon scowled at her as she dawdled in her step. "Sorry." Erika said with a clear voice as she walked carefully around the puddles that fell the night prior. "Next time I'll be born with longer legs so as to not inconvenience anyone." Eamon groaned, shaking his head. "Y'know, if mom and dad just let us use magic this wouldn't be a big deal. I could teleport us over there!" Erika gave him a pointed look and put a finger to his mouth. "Shush, you can't be too careful. Next time let's just get the chauffeur to take us." Usually Eamon's familiar, Fiyero, drove them around but today he wanted to stay home and watch a soap opera on the television.

"Personally I'd rather stay home and practice my flute." She had fun with it, creating music was such a joy for the prodigy but Eamon grabbed her shoulders intently. "But the Remingtons invited us. Sera will be there, you know?" He was grinning at her and wiggled an eyebrow suggestively. "Did you two do it yet? How do girls even do it, anyway-" Erika kicked him in the shin and continued walking, never once losing her composure. "Ouch! That hurt! Ugh, let's just go, it's only a few minutes now anyways." Erika puffed her cheeks a little bit and quickened her pace. "Don't be crass, at least not in public."

They entered the Halloway Hall and all of it's red velvet glory. The seats were lined but near the top, special seats were always deserved for the three noble families. In the center was the Remington Family and Erika could spot her girlfriend's flaming red hair anywhere. The Langleys were on the Remington's other side, and the two brothers could be seen, along with their parents. It was dearly lonely, because two people were missing from the ensemble. Bayon Langley's wife, Miria, was killed by the CCC a while ago after being caught with magic. To make matters worse, Estelle was lost last year and everyone knew she was as good as dead.

Time moves on. Erika saw no reason to continue being sad. Estelle wouldn't want that.

As a formal outing, Erika couldn't contact Sera. But later on she would and they would have a little fun. As the prizes were shown - a fancy new dresser made by a master woodsmith, the world's prettiest piano with the most pristine sound to it's keys, even a recipe for a delicious new cake that had just been invented. Erika didn't personally want to buy anything but it was interesting to watch the lesser wealthy squabble over what they wanted. Sometimes Eamon would pitch in with no intention to buy, just to make the lessers bid higher in hopes of receiving their prizes.

"Hey, next on the list is the cat." Eamon nudged her with a quiet whisper. Erika glanced at the schedule and shrugged. What did it concern her, anyways? "Come on, don't be boring. I know you love touching furry things. You couldn't stop touching Julian's pet ferret the other day." Erika stared at him, almost defensively. "Soft is nice." She whispered and then stared as the curtains opened to reveal the latest showpiece. It was a tiny little cat girl, just a teensy but shorter than Erika herself was. Her fur was white and she sat in a cage, looking terrified. This sparked something within the prodigy. Seeing such a defenseless creature in such a manner was beyond horrible.

You see, Erika had a secret. There was a new crime fighter in town these days, a vigilante. They called her the Blue Lotus and she served to protect the weak against the cruelties of the strong. It was a chance to let her hair down and truly be whatever she wanted, free of the constraints of blood and money. Of course, no one knew it was her. "Is that within our budget?" She asked curiously and Eamon shook his head. "Uh, of course not! Dad would kill us if we spent that much on a servant! You should just summon a familiar or something, that way it'd be for free!" Still, Erika couldn't help being transfixed with the feline, staring at it the entire time it was it's turn on stage.

Eventually someone did bid on the Kitty. It was a small family, the Cawthons. "Poor thing." Eamon said with a roll of the eye. "The Cawthons are likely to turn her into a doll and leave her alive but unmoving as her nerves are all severed." He shrugged as if it didn't particularly bother him. "Well, let's go back home. The parents will be waiting, Berry." Erika nodded, calmly leaving her seat. "We showed our faces to honor the invitation, that should suffice Lord Manfred." Lord Manfred, also known as the head of the Remington household.

She had a job to do. Luckily, in her purse, was the Blue Lotus costume, ready at any time. All she needed was an excuse to get away from her brother's watchful eye. "I should say hi to Seraphina. You can go home first." Eamon glanced but shrugged. "Fine. I gotta get back to make sure Fiyero's not doing anything uncouth." He left her and Erika knew precisely what she was going to do. It would be risky, but if she could cast her shadow magic, she could reach the Cawthon home first and rescue the kitty before it was too late for her. For some reason, at the chance to deliver justice, her cheeks almost lit up with pink excitement. There was nothing quite like being a hero, was there? Estelle was always obsessed with justice, she would be proud.

❝Sometimes I wonder about the dreams I have when I'm awake.❞

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

While witches and wizards weren't really restricted on the kinds of magic they could learn, it was true that the more you practiced a certain type of magic, the better you got at it. Erika's 'specialty' had to do with shadow magic. Becoming one with the shadows, traveling in shadows right under normal humans's noses, it was what she did best. This gave her fast transit throughout Min City that nothing but a magical or anti-magic lock could stop. Not many were capable of melting into shadows as much as she could, but hey! That was why she was called the prodigy, wasn't it? Moving far ahead of the car as she hopped from shadow to shadow, it was easy for Erika to reach the Cawthon home before their owners did. She slipped right through the lock and hid, waiting for the perfect moment.

In the shadows she slipped her Blue Lotus outfit on, feeling cool and snazzy as she wore it. Ah, this felt so much better than her stuffy princessy clothes her family always made her wear. As the tiny one of the family, they always were keen on spoiling her and looking down on her. It was as if they forgot who in the family really had the most magical potential of them all! The only other mages in Min City that could match her power were Manfred and Alistair Remington, both of them incredibly gifted as well. The Cawthons were a cruel folk, and Erika always did want to have a crack at them. How messed up do you have to to abduct pretty orphans and turn them into dolls, leaving their minds trapped in an inescapable hell?

She wasn't going to let this continue. Especially not to that adorable little kitty cat she saw.

She waited, waited, waited for the perfect opportunity. Finally, it was time to strike, their guards were gown, eager to start the nerve extraction process. She mouthed the spell while still in the shadows and then released herself from it, cape fluttering out in full glory. "Who the heck is this?" The boy asked, confused at the intruder. "You ask who I am?" The spell changed her voice, of course, making it more mature and dignified. "I am the Blue Lotus, defender of the weak!" There was no recognition, of course. One woman even started laughing at the scene. "This is my debut, but please don't underestimate me."

Do you want to know what made Erika a prodigy? She could cast spells beforehand and save their power before using them. Most mages had to chant and then cast, but she could store up to five in her hand at a time before using them. It really made her much better for fighting situations than most witches and wizards. She thrust her arm out and a bolt of lightning struck the boy before he could cast. There was also magical potential coming from the other woman, not the one with the hat but the one with the scarf. It was time to take her out, too. "Grab her cape!" Someone yelled but Erika unclipped it and tossed it at the speaker, and the cape was magically enchanted to wrap around someone's arms and legs once thrown.

There was the kitty, looking so scared and sad and confused. She melted back into shadows and then reappeared at another side of the room where she could break the light. "Stop hurting people or I, the Blue Lotus, be back and make you pay!" She scooped up the kitty and before anyone could know what was happening, Erika melted into the darkness. She used shadows to hop her way back to the Harrington Estate, overlooking the beautiful ocean and the almost always busy docks as workers toiled day and night. "It's okay." Erika whispered to the kitty. "You're safe with me, I promise."

After carefully hiding the costume, Eamon was there to stare at her, right at the door. "Why do you have the cat? I thought the Cawthons bought her?" Erika shrugged and helped the cat in, locking the door behind her with a magical lock. "Some strange person in a blue outfit came and gave her to me when I was coming back from visiting Sera." She said calmly. Eamon conjured up a magic knife and cut through the chains with a groan. "Ugh, it was probably some idiot vigilante about to get killed. Oh well, we can't just send her back. Dad says not to turn away anyone at the door in need." Erika nodded happily, humming a little tune to herself. "I guess I'll have to give her a name."

She bent down as Eamon watched, mildly amused as he poured milk and prepared oreos, and Erika gently stroked the cat's fur, almost purring herself at how delectable it all felt. "Wonderful." She said, blue eyes twinkling. "You will be my servant." She released another spell, one to cleanse the body of impurities to remove any drugs that may still exist in her system. It was painful, but unfortunately that was a necessary part of the cleaning process. "You should probably ask her her name, she might have one." Eamon suggested helpfully through a mouthful of oreos. "Oh. Good idea!" Erika gave one last scritch and then stood back up to her full not-so-tall height. "What's your name? You'll be living here, and I probably shouldn't keep calling you Kitty."

❝They say that cats are angels with whiskers.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#A4D3EE ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #FFADB9

|| In the Name of Love || Nightcore ||

What was going on? Why couldn't she move? Panic rose in her chest, there was a whirlwind of activity and the lights went out, flickering back on to reveal another human. Who was this one? What were they doing to her? Why couldn't she feel her body? What if Maple was being hurt like this too? The kitten attempted to lash out, but her limbs were heavy, as though they had been filled with tons of scraps and she could barely lift her neck up to crane her head around in order to see what was happening. The kitten winced, laying her head back down as a battle began. The Blue Lotus, one human called itself, prancing around in an outfit, flinging off its cape. The other humans were put out and the kitten was lifted from the table, saved for now.

She whispered comforting words, saying that at last, the kitty was safe. Tears welled up in her eyes, something strange that she didn't understand. They moved through the shadows, the cold clinging to her skin like a vise. When they emerged, they ended up in a beautiful house, far more lovely than any the kitten had been in, the air warm and inviting. She was put down on her feet, but her knees wobbled strangely, the drug still in effect. Her rescuer assisted her inside and so the kitten licked her hand in gratitude, naive to the ways of humans. Sera? Was that another human? Was that her rescuer? Or the ones that had captured her? Another human joined them, this one male. He conjured up a sharp stick and cut the chains that bound her.

Free to move a bit more, the kitten managed to sit up. She purred when a hand began to scritch her ears, rubbing her head against the offered scritches happily. Suddenly, her body felt as though it had been set alight, her skin itching, her lungs burning. Her back arched as the remainder of the drug was removed from her system, the impurities coming out of her in a black smoke. She yelped in pain, panting once it was over, but free to move once more. After receiving one last scritch, the human stood up, asking her name. The kitten opened her mouth, then closed it, attempting to think. Her Mage had always called her Bubbles, but that was surely not her name. She thought back to her Mother, who had given her one, but could not recall how to say it in the human tongue. "Mew," she replied.

There was a yawn from the next room. "Are those Oreos? I want," came the voice of a male. He froze, his eyes twinkling as they looked the naked kitty up and down. "My, my, what do we have here? A treat for Fiyero, you shouldn't have." He came closer to inspect, tail wagging eagerly. The kitten blushed, acutely aware that what she was wearing was considered scanty in human terms. "Mew," she tried again, hoping to communicate with the other cat. "Oh look," Fiyero reached behind her ear, pulling out a four leafed clover. "Good luck charm, you should keep it." He offered her an Oreo and hesitantly, the kitten took it, opening up her mouth to grasp the end from his fingers. "Th-thank you!" She said through a mouthful of crumbs.

"Clover!" She remembered, or perhaps was simply mocking the bigger kitty. "Name is... Clover!" She rose suddenly, bowing to the girl who had saved her. "Thank you!"

Mew? "I don't think Mew is a name." Erika said blandly as she eyed the feline. Okay, fine, she'll admit it. This was a bit of an impulsive decision, but it was for the best. She rescued the poor thing from a cruel fate, wasn't that always worth it? Fiyero came strolling in, his soaps most likely over for the day, looking with pleasure at poor almost nude Kitty. "She will be my servant." The prodigy told Eamon's servant with a charming little smile. "You can be her friend, though, perhaps show her the ropes." Eamon suddenly grabbed the bag of oreos with a sour expression. "Those are mine, you twat." He murmured unhappily, knowing one of his very own oreos was stolen from him. "Oh, do you want it back, Master?" Fiyero asked in a sarcastic drawl.

After seeing the cat with the oreo, Eamon rolled his eyes again, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Ugh, whatever, she can have it." He said, surrendering. It was funny how despite the Master Familiar relationship the two had, it felt more and more like Fiyero was capable of playing Eamon like a fiddle. Oh, if only his two girlfriends knew how easily manipulated he was. Suddenly, the cat said a name. Clover. "Then I will call you Clover." She held out her hand, offering for Clover to take it and follow her lead. "I will show you to my room so you can borrow some of my old clothes for now." Not that she had grown out of them or anything, but they would fit her and right now, her servant needed the modesty more than Erika needed extra clothes. "My name is Eamon, by the way. Eamon Harrington." He introduced himself and pointed at his familiar. "This is Fiyero, my servant, but right now he's being spoiled." He looked over to his sister, who was still playing with Clover's tail. "That one's Berry." Erika gave him a look. "My real name is Erika, and Eamon is my brother." She took a step on the stairs before having another thought to address.

"Oh, and Fiyero, you'll help Clover ease into her duties as a servant, will you?" Fiyero looked up at her, his eyes clearly asking what the benefit to him would be if he did this favor. Eamon seemed apologetic at the insolent behavior, but the prodigal mage didn't mind, she had grown used to the eccentric and lazy familiar. "I'll buy you another bag of chips tomorrow." Eamon frowned helplessly at her. "Hey, don't get my demon fat! He eats enough as is!" But his cries fell on deaf ears as the two girls entered the upstairs floor and walked along the floor to her room.

Opening the door to her room, Erika pulled a nightgown and socks from her dresser and offered them to Clover. "You should put something on and appear respectable. I can order servant uniforms for you in the morning." She smiled and pet Clover again, becoming intoxicated with the feel of her sleek silky fur. Erika just couldn't get enough of it. Eventually someone opened her door to walk in on them. It was Rosemary, home from her day inspecting the new shipment of goods from the foreign trading ships. "I heard from Eamon that you have a creature that the Cawthon family lawfully bought from the Halloway Hall?" Rosemary asked, hands on her hips. "A blue vigilante gave her to me." Erika said with practiced ease, hoping her new servant would know what secrecy was. "The vigilante told me she was being abused, so I had to take her in.". Rosemary sighed, taking her youngest daughter's hands into hers. "Well, it should be fine as long as the Cawthons don't come and recognize her." Mother said, returning to her quiet and friendly demeanor.

"Are you to be Lady Erika's servant?" She asked Clover with intent. "I trust you'll serve her to the best of your abilities. Don't worry, my dear. We won't hurt you here, this is a safe house for all who live in it, including you now." Erika waved as her mother left to prepare a meal for when Edmund returned home from work. "If you have any questions." The hero began with a silky smile. "You may proceed. Do you need a pen, would that help you in communicating?" It was just a guess but from how Clover was speaking so far, the feline indicated to have difficulties with language. That would have to be amended.

Servant? Clover's ears twitched, cats didn't serve humans! If anything, humans served cats! Clover squirmed, she had never heard of a cat serving a human before! Perhaps Maple had? Oh, if only the older kitten was here to guide her younger sister! "I will be servant," Clover repeated, nodding in affirmation. She owed a life debt to this human after all, she had saved her from the scary vet! That other boy... he didn't smell like a cat. Even though he had ears like Clover, his scent was strange, but soothing all the same. Clover turned towards her new human, they all had names, ones that might be hard to pronounce, but at least her human's name was easy. "Erika," Clover repeated in a squeak. She rose to her feet, tail swishing a bit nervously.

The one called Fiyero would train her. Train her? Cats didn't do tricks! She hoped human Erika didn't expect her to jump through hoops or play fetch, because if there was one thing cats really didn't do, it was play fetch. She rose from the couch, following human Erika up the stairs, using her hands and feet to clamber up behind her. They entered the threshold to a beautiful bedroom, the windows tall, an elegant set of furniture placed all around it. The kitten's eyes lit up, no doubt those windows let in plenty of sunshine to roll around and take naps! She went to star through them as Erika picked through her belongings to find something suitable to cover up. "Respectable," Clover repeated, taking the bundle of clothing. She removed the undergarments right there, taking off the garters and strange corset in exchange for the cozy nightgown and socks. They felt strange on her feet, she could recall her Mage trying to get her and Maple into socks so that they could wear shoes, but the kittens did not like the confining garments, which was why Clover hated underwear.

There was a knock at the door, a woman who smelled like flowers entering the threshold. Erika pet her head once more and the kitten purred, nuzzling her head against the human's hand. Clover squinted, attempting to discern if this one was Eamon or Fiyero. No, this one was a girl, that much Clover could tell, but all humans looked the same to her. The taller human, the one that wasn't her Erika, stepped forward, asking if she was to be Erika's servant. "Y-yes!" Clover replied quickly, her tail standing upright. This human was different, she was clearly the authority, perhaps Erika's Mama? Hmm, how long did humans live with their litter for? Erika seemed older than her and yet, she still lived with her Mama! The Mama human left, but not before feeling one of Clover's ears. The kitten sneezed, an adorable, tiny sound.

Human Erika turned towards her, asking if she had any questions. Clover tried to think, her tail swishing thoughtfully. "Clover... speak badly... um.... because Clover... is cat!" She didn't know how to write, so using a pencil and paper wouldn't help all that much. "Does human Erika.... know... sister Maple... is?" She tried, hoping that somehow, a bit naive as to how many humans there truly were in Min City. A cat girl surely would have been gossiped about, unless her new owners were particularly good at keeping their mouths shut. "Maple is... cat like... Clover, but..." she trailed off, attempting to recall the words the mage had once taught her. "Taller and... black!" Her eyes twinkled, so full of hope that it was almost painful to look at.

After a bit of a turbulent day, not t was just the Master with her new Servant in her room together. Sitting with both legs folded neatly beneath her, she waited for Clover's response and then looked her over a again. Clover was somehow just a tiny bit shorter than the already tiny Erika, so that was a plus. It would be nice to have someone to be taller than, for sure. The white succulent fur, it was hard to stop herself from just drowning in petting it endlessly. A part of the prodigy had the feeling that Clover wouldn't protest against that, either. Clover opened her mouth, clearly having trouble enunciating her words. What she was saying did make some sense, and it was clear that she had to have been some accident with magic or alchemy somehow since cat-beasts did not normally exist.

It all made Clover all the more rare a specimen, and more valuable a servant, didn't it? "I see, I suppose that makes sense." Erika said with a patient sort of smile. "Don't worry, I will teach you to read and write. That's a skill all servants must know." It wouldn't be too hard, hopefully. Considering the white animal girl was able to understand that she was indebted to her means that at least there's some intelligence in there. Clover might even be a genius, just without the language to express it. Then Clover asked her question, one that no doubt the cat was very serious about.

She wanted to know where her sister was. That brought forth a strange reminiscence in her own heart as she remembered scouring the streets and zipping through shadows in a useless attempt to find any traces left of her sister, Estelle, after that horrible fire. "A few weeks ago, me and my brother attended an auction at the Halloway Hall." Erika said in thought. "I do remember a black cat creature." She closed her eyes, trying to fish up more details of that day. Who was it? Who was it that won the bid for the black cat girl? "If I remember correctly, it was the Bernards." Another one of the lesser wealthy. Rich enough to live on this side of the wall, but not enough to stand with the big three.

Erika was about to scribble down some basic details but then she remembered that Clover was illiterate. "I suppose one day I could take you for a visit." She said with a tiny smile, knowing it would pacify her servant and make her loyal. The prodigy reached forward and began to run her nails against the soft silky fur, no longer able to control herself. "I imagine you and your sister are worried for each other, aren't you?" Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "You may enter." It was Eamon, looking a bit disgruntled. "Father's home, so t's time for dinner. Mother says she cooked something for the cat, too." Erika stood up, holding her hand as an offer to Clover in case she wanted the help. "Her name is Clover." The shadow mage reminded her brother with a smile. "And we'll come right down."

Clover lay on her stomach across from Erika on the bed. The human was taller than her, as humans generally were. Her size was still strange, being able to lift things with fingers instead of her mouth was even stranger. There were so many little nuances to being a human that Clover still did not understand. The kitten tilted her head, tail swishing as she watched Erika think. For a moment, Clover was enraptured by her fingers; as a kitten she had often chased Mama or the Mage's fingers as they wiggled playfully across various surfaces. Now, however, she was far too large to chase fingers and the thought almost made her sad. No longer would she be able to enjoy cat trees or gnawing on a barn of Mama's yarn.

Erika's eyes narrowed, she declared that she would take it upon herself to teach the kitten to read and write. "Mew?" Clover tilted her head to the side cutely, her ears twitching at every sound. The kitten sat up, nodding. She wasn't completely illiterate, Clover could read and write enough to recognize her name. Did Fiyero know how to read and write as well? Was he a servant? Was Eamon a servant too? And that woman, were they all underlings to human Erika? Her new human must have been very powerful indeed, if she had all of these people to serve her. Or perhaps that was just a cat's way of thinking, to believe that the world revolved around a singular person.

Clover sat up when Erika began to speak of her sister, saying that she was sold to someone else. Hopefully it was not the vet! To her relief, it seemed that her sister was sold to someone called Bernards. "Y-yes! Maple is...worried!" Clover nodded, glad that Erika would take her to visit. No doubt Maple was just as worried about Clover as Clover was Maple. Human Erika reached forward, stroking her hair once more. Clover purred, leaning her head to better receive the scritches, her tail swishing happily. A knock at the door sounded, sending the kitten on edge. She hissed, hiding behind Erika, but it was just human Eamon. Relaxing once more, her tail took up its fervent swish, her tummy making gurgling sounds.

"Food?" She inquired, following Erika down the stairs to a new room. The house was vast, with plenty of hiding spots and expensive looking pieces of art. Clover marveled at the grand arches and large windows until they reached a dining room. The smell of food was tantalizing; in this body, her tongue seemed capable of tasting much more than just one or two flavors. The fancy cat food her Mage used to prepare her, with its brews to keep her kitten sized, no longer tasted good. There were more humans gathered there, that woman and a man now too. Fiyero winked, his hands tucked into the robes he wore. A hand reached out to touch her hair, the human woman that had come to see Erika from before stroking her head.

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

As usual, whenever Edmund returned home from his work, Rosemary would have the meal ready. The Harrington family did not need to hire their own chef because Rosemary was a gourmet of her own and found joy in the art of food. A large variety of dishes were in store for them all and Erika and Clover walked down the stairs to join everyone else. Of course there were miscellaneious servants such as maids to help clean and father's butler who kept the house safe when no one else was around, but for the dinner table, it was only for family members and their personal servants. "I believe you'll enjoy the food we have here." Erika had a modest smile as she took her seat, patting the chair next to her so Clover would know where she was supposed to be seated.

At the head of the table was Edmund, and on one side was Rosemary. Across from Rosemary was an empty spot for Estelle, and next to that, across from each other were the twins, Erika and Edmund. Farthest from the Head seat sat the two servants, Fiyero and Clover. "So I heard about our new addition." Edmund was addressing Erika right now so she nodded and indicated for Clover to stand so that father could get a better look at her. "I also heard about the strange circumstance in which she ended up in your hands, Erika." The prodigy calmly reiterated the same story of a mysterious vigilante putting Clover in her arms. "I had to help her, because I was raised to be someone that helps others." Father gave Clover an appraisal as his eyes ran over her. "I suppose she'll be taught simple tasks at first, such as cleaning and laundry."

The most important duty for Clover to fulfill, of course, was that of companionship. "Personally, I don't know what she's good for." Eamon said snootily, wanting to have pride in his own familiar. Mother laughed then, a twinkling sound in her voice. "Yes, your familiar who stays at home and watches soap operas is very talented indeed." If anything, Fiyero seemed to take pride in his work. "Soap opera reviews are my specialty, milady." Rosemary was clearly enjoying herself as Eamon scowled at his servant. "Oh, my, such a flatterer you are, Fiyero." Edmund was next to speak, then as he fixed his monocle. "My wife truly is quite the beauty, isn't she?" Mother seemed quite delighted by her husband's pride.

Once food was finished, Edmund spoke up again, coughing to draw everyone's attention. "Erika. You have applied for the Westerly's Music Competition. Have you practiced the song you'd like to perform? Perhaps show Miss Clover the talents of her new Master." Excitement bubbled in her stomach at the mention. Not only was this father's approval to keep Clover, it also reminded her of her passion. She wanted to do well, she really wanted to do well. "Shall I show you my work so far, father?" She beckoned for Clover to follow her and she retrieved her flute from it's case, wiped it down, and lightly positioned her mouth over the hole. Erika had two main talents - the first was magic, and the second was the art of the second smallest woodwind instrument, only bigger than the piccolo. "Do you know how to do any music?" Erika asked suddenly as she was finishing making sure her flute was in tune. "If so, perhaps one day we could perform together."

After returning own, it was time. She took her position at the estate's mini performance hall, beginning her song. Erika's many years of practice with the flute gave her enough comfort that she was able to do a small graceful dance to the song's flowing notes and rising highs and lows. Erika's heart was almost singing as she played. Nothing quite gave her joy like the flute - except, perhaps, petting soft things. Eamon, as the only non-musically inclined sibling, seemed impressed. His talent was not a musical instrument but rather, he was surprisingly a very good tailor. Designing and making clothes was his passion, no matter what Fiyero said about it.

Clover followed Erika, who spoke of the food and that Clover might be fond of it. The kitten had no doubts she would; at first, human food had been nigh intolerable. It was far too rich in flavor, but slowly, over time, she grew used to the strange blend of spices and aromas and they became pleasant to her. The kitten sat beside her new human, looking at the steaming plates before her and wondering why there was so much food. Clover wasn't fussy, for the last two months or so she had been living off of the scraps that her captors brought her twice a day. "Here, you'll probably like these," Rosemary, as Fiyero whispered in her ear to inform her who the woman was, said kindly. She plopped down various ominous blobs, each one smelling more interesting than the next.

Clover leaned down to lick up something, but someone nudged her in the ribs. It was that cat man, what did he want? He pointed to the fork, "Use this, food is hot." He muttered, clearly wanting her to be presentable in front of the head of the house. While Eamon did not seem fond of her, Fiyero had already grown attached to the pretty little kitten. Clover looked around, watching as Erika used a fork and knife. She lifted up her own, cautiously cutting through something that smelled like meat and placing it on her fork like Erika did. She watched as Erika lifted it to her mouth and mimicked her human, bringing it to her own mouth and licking it off of the fork. "Is... good!" Her tail and ears stood up at attention and she picked up another piece of meat, struggling slightly with her cutlery.

At Erika's behest, Clover rose, squirming under the scrutiny of the man who was clearly the Patriarch of the house. Clover sat back down once she was given the nod of approval, tucking back into the food on her plate. "Slow down a little," the butler in the corner mumbled disapprovingly. Clover couldn't help it, the most she had eaten all day was a drugged cat treat. All too soon, the food was cleared and dessert was served. Clover poked at the cake with her fork and for some reason, it began to leak. "You're supposed to eat it," Fiyero tipped her off and Clover hesitantly scooped some of it into her mouth. Once more, her ears and tail flew upright as the flavors danced across her tongue. "Yummy!" She said, finishing it too quickly.

It seemed her new human had a talent, something to do with a silver stick. Clover watched, enraptured, as the human began to play. Her ears twitched in rapt attention and her body swayed slightly to the music. When it was over and the other servant began to clap, Clover did too, albeit perhaps a bit too enthusiastically. Erika turned to her, asking her a question. "No... no know... music." Clover replied, wishing she could do something. "Can... catch mice!" She offered, wondering if a place this large and fancy even had mice. "Can also... draw pictures!" Not as nice as the ones that hung in frames, but nice enough for the mage to put them on his fridge.

Maple was much more gifted, she had already mastered human speech by the time Clover could grasp a few words. Maple was the better drawer too and she had learned to sew in the time that Clover had learned to write her name. The kitten yawned, beginning to grow tired, her ears drooped sleepily. After a large meal, it was nice to take a nice, long nap.

Clover was interesting. There was something about her, the way the cat was clearly out of her depth as she tried to learn the ways of high society, or the way she was still struggling with basic human speech, the way she mimicked every movement as she tried to learn how to use cutlery, it was all so interesting to watch, the way someone would watch a duckling learning how to swim. After her performance and she was praised for her work, Erika did a bow and then retrieved her care kit to properly treat the instrument after playing. "Then I suppose you can do this." Already a task came to mind. "Watch me and learn." Almost absentmindedly, Erika got to work on cleaning her flood, inserting the cleaning gauze through the hole of the cleaning rod and then gently inserting it into the flute itself, twisting to cleanse the inside.

"You did well, dear." Rosemary gave her an approving smile, proud of the youngest daughter. "Your talent never ceases to impress me." Eamon looked a bit sour because he knew he couldn't ever get to perform on stage like that. The best he could do was design the dress for Erika to wear for her competition. "Estelle is still better!" Eamon muttered, clearly salty about the situation. "Stop fraternizing, Fiyero, seriously!" Erika most ignored them all as she meticulously cleaned her partner that helped her make such beautiful music. Next was the pads, and she had small square-shaped cleaning papers she could insert to wipe the inner mechanisms of the pads up, three times for each before she was satisfied.

The final step was to clean the outside and she simply used a cloth to wipe it down to finish. Once it was done, Erika very carefully placed it back in it's case and closed it shut, every movement with grace and deliberation. "Of course I'm not as good as Estelle, but I'm still learning." Even Edmund seemed calmly impressed with her skill and he gave his daughter a subtle nod. "You still need work, but you've done excellently." He told her and Erika smiled. "Come, Clover. I have to show you something." She went back up to her room, leaving the rest of her family behind.

She was getting sick of this stuffy mansion. But now that she had a servant, perhaps it would be fun to patrol together outside for once. "Here, put this on." She tossed one of her old coats for Clover to wear and put hers on as well. With that she took Clover's hand. "I'm curious." The prodigy said, eyes twinkling as she cast her spell, the two melting into the shadows. As the moon loomed over the streets of Min City, the two girls hopped from shadow to shadow out of the Port District until finally they reached it. Tall, like a huge mountain, here was the Wall of Glory.

Up here, they were safe from the eyes of the guards down below who guarded the toll. "So, Clover." Erika grinned, cheeks pink, her usual composure was gone once again. Her hair blew wildly in the cold winds from being up this high. "Which side of the wall do you come from? Before the auctioneers took you, I mean." On the one side was splendour and riches, with clean streets and well maintained lights and pretty buildings. On the other side was squalor, houses built almost on top of each other because there wasn't enough room for the massive population living there. Not everyone on the poor side was poor, but those who lived comfortably were in the vast minority. The inequality of Min City couldn't be better seen than here, atop the Wall of Glory. "There's something wrong in this city." Erika said as the wind howled around them. "Will you be my partner as I try to set right the wrongs?" This her was the real her, the eagerly grinning mage that was almost bouncing on the balls of her feet, not the prissy shy noble lady from the estate.

"Be my partner." Erika held out her hand in offering. "And maybe we can change this world!" What was it she saw in Clover, in the cat that was still no doubt incompetent at performing human duties? Was it pity? Was it friendship? Or was it simple companionship on her quest as the Blue Lotus?

Clover watched aptly, wondering if she would successfully be able to clean such an interesting shaped apparatus without damaging it. The cleaning process was intricate, as was evident by the amount of work that went into it. Clover would have to ask to be shown this again, since she was rather tired and could hardly absorb the information. Her ears twitched at the sound of laughter all around her. There seemed to be an active competition between Estelle and Erika as to who could produce better music and in Eamon's opinion, it was the human called Estelle. Clover looked around, wondering where she was. Clover hissed at Eamon, shaking her head. "Erika... is best!" Her tail swished and Fiyero laughed, quickly getting nudged by his Master in the side to stop fraternizing.

Erika rose, beckoning for Clove to follow her. The kitten stood too, following the human up the stairs and back to her room where she claimed she wanted to show her something. Clover followed Erika into her closet, pulling on the warm hoodie that mimicked a cat. She shrugged it on, struggling slightly, but once she had managed to get her arms through the rest was easy. "Jacket?" Clover asked, glancing in the mirror. She jumped, not recognizing herself with the hood up. Curiously, the kitten moved closer to inspect, gazing at herself. She had only ever looked in the mirror as a cat, believing that there was another, identical cat trapped within that she had to free. Seeing herself gave her quite the start, her tail standing upright in surprise.

What was even more surprising, however, was that she melted into the shadows. Clover clung to Erika, the two of them bouncing from place to place until they ended up somewhere strange. When it at last stopped, Clover stumbled, nearly falling off the wall. She mewed in distress, grabbing onto Erika so as not to go tumbling down. The wind whipped through her long white hair, a chill sweeping across her body. Clover shivered, kneeling down to gaze over the side of the wall. What was this place? On one side were beautiful houses, glittering in the low light of evening. On the other, there were shacks of all shapes and sizes, stacked haphazardly on top of one another as though a gust of wind could bowl it over at any given second. There were lights here and there, but many of the houses seemed empty, devoid of life, or perhaps its residents had already turned in for the night.

Her eyes lifted when Erika addressed her and Clover rose, tilting her head to the side in thought as Erika addressed her. Which side of the wall? Clover glanced between the two, wondering. "No," she shook her head, pointing further, towards the forest. "There," on the edge of Min City was a forest, one that was said to be haunted by an evil wizard that would eat your soul if you came into his garden. In truth, he was a very nice wizard and his garden was one of his greatest treasures. He used it to mix brews for the less fortunate, creating salves and medicines for those who could not afford the conventional costs of medications.

Something wrong in the city? Clover looked around, but nothing seemed amiss. Unless she meant the giant wall the two of them were standing on. Clover listened to the proposal, taking Erika's hand. "Yes," she nodded, shaking it. "Clover.... will help!"

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

As much as the prodigy enjoyed the life of privilege and status from being a Harrington, there was a certain kind of freedom that could only be accomplished by escaping the house once night fell and letting herself be whoever she wanted to be. Atop the Wall of Glory, the two girls were, Erika having to help grab Clover to make sure the white cat didn't tumble to the streets below. When asked which side of the Wall she came from, Clover shook her head and pointed out to the forest that surrounded the city's outskirts. "Wasn't there a mage who lived there?" Erika asked. It was a story told a while ago, a family was using medicinal magic to help the poor so Manfred Remington exiled them and they fled, leaving Min City for the forest instead. Perhaps it was them, perhaps it wasn't.

Clover accepted the offer to the partners and Erika felt very happy. She gave Clover many bonus ear scritches for her decision. "Good kitty." The flutist beamed as the moon glimmered above them, pretty yet untouchable in the sky. Who knew how many people right now were looking up at the moon, begging for someone to save them? How many people were being hurt, who were the CCC hunting now? It was impossible to know for sure, and as much as Erika wanted to go on patrol, she knew Clover was at the end of her rope here. "Let's go back, I know you're tired. For tonight you can sleep in my room, but after that you'll have a room set up in the Servant wing of the Estate." It was inappropriate, even for personal servants, to sleep in the same room as their Masters. But Clover would be an exception, just for one night.

The next morning, it was time for another day at Miss Everett's Girl's Academy. Erika got herself dressed in her school uniform, wearing her grey coat overtop because of the fall weather. "Clover, today you'll be learning the basics of how to be a servant from Fiyero." She informed her feline with a small, refined sort of smile, brushing her hair in the mirror. "I will be back this afternoon, so be good while I'm gone." She gave one last scritch and then met up with Eamon at the entrance. He would be going to Sir Kerrigan's Boy's Academy, right next door to Miss Everett's so they could take the same limosine. It was more convenient that way, of course. "G'morning." Eamon greeted her with a grin. "Wait till Sera finds out about Clover. Think she'll get jealous?"

"Why should she?" Erika asked with a polite glance in her brother's direction. "There's nothing like that between Clover and I, there's nothing for Seraphina to worry about." Eamon yawned, shaking his head. "At least be a little provoked, you're so boring sometimes." Erika giggled at her brother's frustration. "A noble lady should always be composed." Unless she was the Blue Lotus, she had to stay under control. That was what she was raised to be.

The gates of the Academy were large and fancy and Seraphina was waiting for her within, with a big wide grin. "Heya, Rika." She grinned, yanking Erika out of the limo with an energetic bounce. "Gosh, it's so much more fun to meet each other without the adults around!" She had to act prim and proper during official outings but here, her fiery and out-going personality could shine. "See, not all noble ladies have to be composed." Eamon taunted as he entered school on his side, giving a flirting wave to his two girlfriends as they had to be pried off of his arms and dragged into the correct entrance. "Sera's special." Erika had a faint blush as she said it, one she shoo'd away after a few minutes.

School was the same as always and the time passed quickly. Erika was relatively smart, though most of her mind and talent went to magic and music, not really for academia. Eamon was by far a better student. Sera, too, was always the top of whatever year she was in, an utter genius as most people would call it. "I have a new servant." Erika told Sera as classes ended. "Do you want to see her?" Sera grinned and hopped into the limo. "Of course! I gotta see! I'll give her a good beating to make sure she's good enough for you, Rika!" As she did her fist pump her sleeve fell to reveal a dark bruise. Erika bit her tongue and ignored it, because she knew it she wasn't allowed to pry. "Go easy on her, you'll understand when you see her." Clover would probably be afraid of the fiery princess of the Remington family.

As much as they were in love, there was a lot of tension beneath the surface. Something or someone was regularly hurting Sera but she would never, ever reveal who or what it was. And the stress from not being able to help... it was very draining on the prodigy. Sometimes having love wasn't enough to make a relationship work, as painful as a fact that was.

Clover nodded eagerly, so Erika had heard of her mage then? "Bad men... took Clover and Maple!" The kitten exclaimed, using her hands to try to depict the explosion that had happened in her home. "Mage and Mama... dust." The fire had been lit while they all slept, the two girls getting pulled out as her owners were burned to death. Clover purred as Erika rubbed her head, the feeling similar to something like ecstasy. It was time to return to her new home, tonight she would be allowed to sleep in human Erika's room, but tomorrow she would have somewhere else to room. The kitten, nodded, clinging to the human once more as they jumped between shadows. She removed the cloak after a few minutes of struggling and took off the socks, wiggling her now free toes. Clover clambered onto the bed, curling up at the foot of it with a spare blanket. "Goodnight," she said quietly, falling asleep easily.

The next morning, Clover awoke to the stirring of her human. She pried her blue eyes open, peeking up at Erika, who was moving about the space to prepare for the day. "Where going?" Clover asked, sliding off of the bed to follow her human to the door. Fiyero was there, waving Eamon off. As the door closed, Clover sat in the entryway, wondering when Erika would return. "Clover," Fiyero said, grinning. There was a twinkle in his eyes, something ominous that she wasn't sure she liked. "I've got your new uniform," Clover stood, following Fiyero to her new room, where a set of clothing had been hung up. "Do you need help changing?" He inquired, wiggling his fingers in a way that told Clover she should not accept his offer. "No," Clover shut the door quickly, changing into the maid outfit.

Once she was done, Fiyero walked around her in a circle to inspect. "Nope, this won't do, your apron is on backwards and your hat isn't right. Here," he took it off of her and helped her fix it, then assisted the cat in putting on the thigh highs. Once the uniform was on properly, he gave her a thumb's up and led her into the kitchen. "Everyday, I clean the Master's room. That's what you have to call Erika now, Master. Say it with me, Maaaasteeeeer." Clover balled her hands into fists of determination. "Maaaaaster. Master! Master!" Fiyero crossed his arms and nodded, "good. Now we'll clean Erika's room, but make sure you give any underwear you find to me." Together they went up to Erika's room, Fiyero poking around while Clover attempted to make the bed and clean up.

Once that was done, the two of them went to prepare snacks for when the Masters returned home from school. "Sometimes, Erika brings her girlfriend over. No big deal, but if you see the two of them kissing, you should definitely call me over so I can watch. Kay?" Clover nodded, wondering why she had to do that. "Great, now, we eat lunch and watch soap operas-" he looked at his list, groaning when he realized that there were still things to be done. With a sigh, Fiyero shook his head. "What I meant to say was, we're going to teach you to read and write. Come on," using a little bit of magic, Fiyero placed the books down, zapping the information into Clover's head.

"What is... fuzzy?" Clover's head was spinning by the end of it, attempting to determine what had just happened. There were sounds at the door, Clover jumped to her feet, running to see if it was Master, but it was just the mailman. With a disappointed sigh, she returned to the living room, where Fiyero was setting up to watch his soap operas. Clover plopped down on the floor beside him, nearly missing it when the door opened. She jumped to her feet, running to see who it was. "Master Erika!" Clover called upon seeing her, her tail swishing happily. There was someone else with her, another human. Were they twins? Clover didn't think so, albeit the humans did all look the same.

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

As much as Erika loved Seraphina, it was obvious that her girlfriend had it hard. Despite her beauty and intelligence, she was lacking in something that was very, very bad to lack in if you wanted to live a good life among the nobility. She didn't have the slightest lick of magical potential and that lack would serve as a crippling factor to her. Still, Sera was bouncy and jovial as she entered the Harrington Estate, waving to the butler as she entered. Eamon wasn't here, he was on a date with his two girlfriends, no doubt getting their panties in a twist. "So, where is she?" Sera asked, hooking her arm around Erika's shoulder. "I wanna see, I have to make sure she's good enough!" Erika shook her head. "She's new, so don't expect too much yet." Yet. Erika saw a strange potential in little Clover, for sure.

Then someone bounded in to greet her. It was Clover, full of excited energy. "Clover, how was your training today?" Erika asked her servant, petting her on the head, fingers lingering on the fur a bit longer than she originally planned. Sera had a sneaky face as she walked over, quite a bit taller than both of them. "Oooh, I get it now." She grinned evilly, taking in her share of the pets and scritches. Soft fur was a well-known weakness of Erika's, ever since she got her hands on a tiny rabbit from the zoo once she was famous for it. "Well, aren't you a cutie? What's your name, babe? Gimme a smile, girls are best when they smile." Already Sera was putting on the charm for poor little Clover. "She's Clover, and please don't stress her too much. She's new to this."

Oh, it was likely that her feline would want an introduction. "This is my girlfriend. Her name is Seraphina Remington." Sera stuck her hand out, waiting eagerly for Clover to take it so that they could officially become friends. "Even if you're cute, you better serve Rika well, okay girlie? My princess deserves nothing but the best!" Erika blushed a little and stepped on Sera's foot to shut her up. "Don't listen to what she says, you're doing your best at your own pace." Suddenly, Sera was playing with one of her twin tails, swinging it around and running her finger through it. Erika's blush grew deeper. "Wh-what are you doing?" Sera grinned wickedly, giving Clover a knowing wink. "Her hair is your Master's weak point, kitty cat. If she ever gets on your nerves, just do this and she'll melt in your arms."

"Excuse me." Erika twisted away and then backed Sera into the wall. For breaking her composure, a punishment was going to have to happen. Sera squealed with excitement. "You're being naughty, Sera. Who told you to act so insolent?" She went on her tip toes and asserted her pressure. "Don't make her misunderstand. I'm the one wearing the pants." Sera blushed and squirmed and shut her eyes. "I was naughty, are you gonna punish me?" Her face was as red as her vibrant hair. Erika gently teased Sera's collar bone after undoing the top buttons of the blazer, and then the kisses trailed up until she went deep on the mouth, tongue poking in. Once it was done Sera was panting and giggling.

Oh, right, Clover was still here. "My apologies for showing you that, that was indecent." Erika did a little curtsey, hoping that the display didn't scare her poor feline. Suddenly Sera's eye twinkled with recognition. "Oh, wait, what? Aren't you the cat that was at the auction just yesterday? The Cawthons bought you!" Knowing that Sera would eventually notice this, it took Erika no time to retell the story of the vigilante who handed Clover into her arms to save her from the sadistic family. "I can take better care of her than they can." Sera seemed a bit troubled, as if there was a shadow of fear in her eyes, but she shook it off and grinned brightly. "Don't worry, I'll cover for ya. Just don't let my dad see her, okay? I'd hate for such a cutie to be taken away and hurt like that."

Erika rolled her eyes and yanked on Sera's blazer collar again. "Are you being naughty again? You might scare my servant." Sera's cheeks heated up and she giggled again. "But whatever do you mean, master?" She struck a silly innocent pose that clearly wasn't innocent in the slightest.

❝They say that cats are angels with whiskers.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#A4D3EE ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #FFADB9

|| In the Name of Love || Nightcore ||

The kitten jumped at the sound of the door, wearing her new maid outfit to greet her human. She curtsied in that way Fiyero had taught her, "Welcome home Master!" It was the clearest sentence she had spoken all day. She and Fiyero, while working, had been binge watching soap operas with maid plot lines so that Clover could learn from them. It also gave her a bit better handle on the language, exposing the kitten to new words that she would be able to replicate easily. Erika inquired as to how her day had gone, reaching over to pet her head. Clover purred, moving closer to receive the scritches. "Good," she managed to get out, her tail swishing from side to side happily. "Fiyero teaches... Clover... lots!" The kitten turned in a circle to express her happiness, seeming in much better spirits today.

It only made sense considering she had a belly full of good food and hadn't been stuck in a cage and drugged. The other human swaggered over, her hands on her hips. She reached out to pet clover, the kitten looking between Erika and the pink haired female to see if this was alright. Once given approval, Clover's tail took up its intense swishing, enjoying the feeling of being pet. "Name is... Clover!" She tried to smile, but it was a bit awkward considering it was something she had never done before. "Clover... is cat!" In case it wasn't obvious from the tail and ears. She turned in another circle, accidentally revealing her undergarments, her tail was swishing so intensely. She didn't want to wear them, but Fiyero had made her.

Erika introduced the other human as Seraphina, saying that she was her girlfriend. Girlfriend? What did that mean? Was it like partner? "Seraphina... is Master... too?" Clover inquired, her head tilting cutely to the side. The cheeky human held out her hand and Clover's ears perked up. Was there a treat in there? She sniffed around it, even licking her palm, but there were no treats. Was this a trick of some sort? Clover stood upright, frowning. It seemed that even after a full day of lessons, Clover still had a lot to learn about being human. Seraphina suddenly reached over to touch Master Erika's hair, saying it was her weak point. Clover hissed, wondering if it was an attack, she moved to cling to human Erika protectively, attempting to save her, but the poor kitten wasn't all that strong and she ended up falling back on her butt.

There was no need for Clover to assist, however. Master Erika punished human Seraphina in a strange way, by connecting their lips. Oh! Clover knew this one! Fiyero had told her that if the humans ever enacted this sort of behavior, she should call him immediately. The kitten turned to go find him when the kissing was over and Erika curtsied in case she accidentally put on a rude display. "Made... snacks," Clover replied helpfully. She bustled off to the kitchen, returning with a silver tray full of delicately tiny cakes that she and Fiyero had made together after watching plenty of tutorials on the machine called Pinterest. It seemed that Erika was human Seraphina's Master after all, as was evident by the way human Seraphina addressed Master Erika.

Erika must have been much more powerful than she was letting on if she had all of these servants to care for. Clover was very glad to have been taken in by such a generous human, who was willing to share her food stores and shelter.

Just as expected, it was Fiyero who was able to eye the perfect variation of the maid uniform to fit Clover's uniquely svelte physique. Sera looked appreciative of the good view as well, though poor Clover must be oblivious to the idea of attractiveness and had no idea. Her feline servant greeted her excellently. "I guess I'll buy him a bag of chips later for his efforts." Sera laughed loudly at the prospect, high and bright and full of energy. "Hah! As if he puts effort into anything! He's got to be the laziest familiar I've ever seen!" There was an attempt made at a smile and Sera laughed again, Erika acknowledging the attempt with a polite smile of her own. Clover was really like an infant doing her best to learn how to be a child. It was endearing in many ways. Erika nodded that it was okay to receive scritches from Sera.

"It's a handshake." Erika instructed Clover helpfully when the feline appeared confused at the outstretched hand. "Humans do it to show friendship or an intention of having cordial relations." Sera pouted, making doe eyes and looking almost hurt if it wasn't for the giggle that always escaped her throat. "I guess she just doesn't want to be my friend!" She wailed. "She's a cat, she isn't quite used to human mannerisms yet." Erika reminded her, knowing her girlfriend was being facetious as always. "I'll add another notch to the naughty list, Sera." The redhead suddenly clung to her, appearing apologetic. "Please don't punish me!" She begged, distressed. "But if you do, make it real good, okay?" As much as it would be fun to deliver the punishment stick, Clover was here and probably wouldn't know what even was going on. It was fine for Sera but Erika was better with displays of affection remaining behind closed doors.

When asked if she was a servant, Seraphina seemed a bit at a loss. "I guess I am. I have servants and stuff." As a daughter of the prestigious Remington family it was no doubt she held a lot of status, moreso than even Erika despite how the two lovers interacted with one another. "I have to admit that the Remingtons are richer than the Harringtons, so technically Seraphina holds a higher status in this city than I." It was that likely a cat from the outer forest would't really know much about the three families. "Aww, you hear that, Clover?" It was obvious the redhead had already grown to friendly terms with the white furry adorable blob in a maid outfit. "She called me high status!" She was just begging to be punished, wasn't she? "Don't get out of hand. Your true face is someone who just wants -" She shook her head, not in front of Clover. That wouldn't be appropriate. "We'll continue this later, Sera." Sera grinned and nodded, blushing deeply.

An assortment of cupcakes, prepared by a duo of Fiyero and Clover was delivered for the two girls to enjoy. "Thank you." Erika said, taking one as Sera took three and tossed them into her mouth one at a time. A refined lady, Sera was not, at least not here. "Faanks." Sera spoke through the muffin dough in her mouth, half chewed. "Ish goood!" Erika nudged her in the waist, making Sera giggle and cough. "Swallow before you speak." As Sera ate, her sleeve fell again, revealing the hints of the bandages. Erika looked away, hoping that by not paying attention to the injury, Clover would know not to, as well. Sera, with a bit of shame, pulled her sleeve back up.

❝They say that cats are angels with whiskers.❞

Chips? What were chips? Were those the salty, crunchy things Fiyero had offered her before? Human Erika instructed Clover on what she was supposed to do with the hand. Clover reached out to the hand she had just licked, shaking it vigorously. She looked to Erika for approval, wondering if that's how it was done. "Friend?" Her ears twitched, the word familiar. Were the two of them friends now? Clover hoped so, Seraphina was good at scritches. Not as good as Erika, who knew exactly the perfect spot to scratch, but close enough that Clover would not mind seeing the human again. How was she supposed to tell all of these humans apart? Clover narrowed her eyes for a moment, realizing that Seraphina's hair was a different color. There, that would be how she remembered; Clover committed this feature to memory.

Seraphina was the Master then? But perhaps only Erika's Master? "So both... Masters?" Clover attempted to discern, growing dizzy with all of this information. "Seraphina... is high status," Clover nodded, wondering if she should call Seraphina Master as well? Clover went off to bring the mini cakes, presenting them to the two Masters. Clover looked back into the kitchen to see if she was doing well; Fiyero gave her a wink and a thumb's up. Clover confused, turned back to the Masters, glad to hear that the cakes were approved. "Clover... worked hard! Fiyero... good teacher!" She managed to get out, wondering if she too, could have a baby cake. She smiled, this time it was a bit more genuine, the kitten clearly relieved that her Master was enjoying her work.

"Humans confusing," Clover returned to the kitchen to place the tray down, managing to swipe one and scarf it down quickly. She licked her fingers before returning to the human's side, wondering what she was supposed to do now. What did servants do anyways? Besides make beds and prepare snacks. The maids in the soap opera had been having an illicit affair with the Master of the house, but Clover had no such interest in humans. As a kitten, she had been spayed to keep the heat at bay and while romance wasn't foreign to her, Clover simply did not feel the constant need to touch her body the way humans did. Aside from kissing, Clover wasn't really sure how humans expressed their love anyhow. In fact, as a kitten, she wasn't all that sure either. When cats found a mate, they would howl loudly in order to try and attract them. During mating season, she and Maple had always been kept inside to keep the male strays away.

"Drinks!" Clover decided, running back to the kitchen to fill up two cups with water. She carefully brought them back to the room where the Masters were, her hands shaking slightly from the amount of concentration it took to make sure they didn't spill. Just when she was about to put them on the table, Clover tripped on one of her socks and fell, her skirt flying up and the water soaking through her cute maid outfit.

Sera grinned and pulled Clover in for more rigorous scritches, eagerly petting the kitten maid. "Of course we're friends! Any buddy of Rika is a buddy of mine!" Poor Clover seemed to have a bit of trouble understanding that they were both kind of Masters, since they were both in a class above her. "We're both Masters, but I'm your Master. You can treat Seraphina however you please." The fire head looked at Clover with a smile. "Just call me Sera. And I'll call you Clovely!" Erika blinked and then she pushed Sera to the side with a sigh. "Ignore her. It's safest to just call her Master Seraphina when others are around." They needed to keep up with image, after all. Even Sera knew to shape up when her father Manfred was close by. "But call me Sera when it's just us!"

When Clover got up to the kitchen, Sera crawled close to Erika and nuzzled her cheek. "Come into my lap, little girl." Sera coo'd and Erika did so, returning the nuzzle by rubbing her head on Sera's chin. "It's Master little girl to you, Sera." The prodigy would never understand why but being firm and mean to the redhead was always enough to get her hot and bothered. Even though they hadn't had their first time yet, the flutist had a feeling she knew all the ins and outs of how to really pleasure her lover. "Do you like her?" She asked, interrupting Sera's blush and giggle. "She's a cutie, of course. I just hope we can keep her safe here until those who were at the auction forget. Even if the vigilante told you to, it was risky taking her in."

Erika smiled up at her girlfriend, feeling a little cared for despite it all. "I couldn't turn her away. You saw her, Sera, she's helpless. I'm stronger than most people know, so I can keep her safe." Sera nodded, as if that made sense to her. "It's because you're a nice girl! I just worry about you, you know me. I can't really do anything, I don't got magic like you." Even though the redhead was smiling, Erika knew she wasn't smiling. "But I know you're the best gunswoman out there." At all times, hidden in her boot, Sera had a small lady's pistol for self defense. She couldn't use magic, but that didn't mean she was powerless. "You always know how to make me feel better, Rika." The flutist closed her eyes, feeling comfortable in her lover's lap like this. "Of course. Any master can make their pet happy." The easiest thing in the world was getting Sera in a blushing fit, wasn't it?

When Clover returned, she tripped and caused an accident. For a short moment both Rika and Sera got a glimpse of up the kitty's skirt. Erika was unphased, but Sera's blush got a little more profound. Erika whispered the incantation and dried up the water. "Are you okay? You aren't hurt, are you?" Seraphina asked, getting up to check Clover over for injuries. "You should be more careful with glass in your hands, if it shatters it can cut really bad, and then you'll bleed." It was to be expected, Clover wasn't quite used to her new role yet. "Don't worry, I won't tell mom or dad. Go get changed, and then meet Sera and I in the performance room. You may invite Fiyero if you wish."

How exactly did the lovers develop their affections for each other? Well, in the school orchestra of Miss Everett's Girl's Academy, they were naturally drawn to each other. Both were aware of the other since they knew each other before hand, but as the noticed their skills and how they were both the best players within the ensemble - Erika on her flute and Seraphina accompanying on the piano - the girls decided to try playing with each other. Sure enough, as they improved with each other and learned more songs and styles, passion grew and now here they were, Erika standing nimbly with flute by her lips, Seraphina sitting poised with her fingers on the keys. As the door opened to reveal their audience of two, that was their cue to delve into their duet of love.

Clover blinked, wondering how she had fallen. She lay on her stomach in the water, one cup landing on her back, the other she managed to catch. Thankfully, neither broke and the kitten sat upright, shaking her body in order to dry off. Master Sera rose to check on her, helping Clover back to her feet. "Clover is... okay!" She replied, giving a thumb's up. The kitten tilted her head to the side, she had pushed over plenty of cups to know that some were more durable than others. "Was careful," Clover said, slightly distressed at the fact that she was being scolded. Her tail curled around her leg and she looked at the ground, feeling bad that she had tripped with their water. Erika cleaned the water up in no time and told her not to worry, about it, but to go get changed.

"Clover will... be back!" She bound up the stairs, taking them two at a time before recalling that her room was now near Fiyero's. So Clover turned, going back down the stairs and across the house to the space she occupied. Fiyero was there with a second maid outfit, "Good job distracting them," he grinned, giving her a thumb's up. Fiyero had gotten plenty peaks at the two girls acting all lovey dovey in a way that made his cheeks flush. He almost balked at the fact that Erika was the one that wore the pants in the relationship, despite Seraphina's fiery personality and hyper attitude, it was hard to believe that she wasn't the dominant one. "Need some help?" Fiyero's ears twitched and he wriggled his fingers in that ominous way of his.

"S-stuck!" Clover danced, attempting to peel the wet clothing off of her. "Don't worry, we'll get you changed in no time!" Fiyero snapped his fingers, the wet clothing flying off. Clover squirmed, at least understanding modesty. "What... these?" She uncrossed her arms from her chest, pointing to the round orbs. They were slightly heavy and to Fiyero's surprise, the kitten was not completely flat. "Those are the work of G-d!" He declared, fishing something out of his sleeve. "You're going to need this! A bra, the most delicate piece of clothing a lady can own! Well, besides panties of course." He helped her put it on, showing Clover how to do it. He took her wet panties, promising to return them once they were dry. Unfortunately, they were her only panties and so for now, Clover would have to go without them.

Once Clover was redressed, she invited him to the performance hall and the two of them made their way to view the concert. Almost as soon as they entered, the music began to float to her ears. The kitten's eyes lit up and she moved closer to view the concert, watching Masters Sera and Erika work their magic. Clover sat down in a seat in the front row, her hands in her lap as she watched, enthralled. When it ended, all too soon in Clover's opinion, the kitten jumped up and began to clap like the humans had done at the table the night previous. "Was... super good!" Clover said jovially, wishing that she had the words to express how great it had been.

And finally, their song ended. Seraphina was blushing with excitement and Erika too, was unable to fully keep the passion off of her normally carefully controlled face. "Thank you, thank you!" Sera bowed magnanimously to Clover's applause, fiery hair flopping over her head as she bowed way too keep. Erika handed her cleaning kit and flute to Clover to tend to and went to brush Sera's hair back in place. "You always go crazy and your hair loses it's shape." Sera liked to wear her hair long and free, and when she played, just like a living breathing fire, her hair seemed to grow a life of it's own, becoming more and more unkempt as the song continued. "Oh, it did it again? Fix it, will you, Rika?" Erika tenderly ran the brush's thistles through the red knots and locks until it looked presentable again.

Time moved on. First mother returned home and graciously greeted Sera, who was grinning from ear to ear. Then Eamon came back and made sure to chastise Fiyero about any number of things. Next was father and then they all had dinner together, treating Seraphina as if she was one of the Harrington family. At first, Edmund and Rosemary were dubious about the relationship. Not exactly disapproving, but most definitely questioning. "You let me have two girlfriends at a time, don't you?" Eamon had yelled when they tried to question Erika one night. "So what's the big deal about Berry having a girlfriend, too?" That was enough to convince the Harrington parents to fully accept the affair and Seraphina was welcome over any time. But dinner ended too soon and Seraphina had to go back home to the Remington Estate. "I must take my leave. Thank you for having me over." She grinned at Clover especially, shaking her hand once more. "Remember what I told you! Play with your Master's hair, it's the best way to mess with her!"

"I will take her to my room for special training now." Erika informed her family but Eamon came to interrupt before she could finally be free and become the Blue Lotus once more. "Clover, there's something I gotta say." Erika frowned a little and stood in his way. What was he planning to do to her fuzzy friend? The prodigy wouldn't let him hurt her. "You can say it to me." Eamon shook his head, clearly frustrated about something. "No, Clover can handle it herself. Unless she's an incompetent idiot, of course." While she was inexperienced, in now way was the cat an idiot. She just needed time to truly bloom. "In case you didn't realize it yet, cat, my sister's really talented." His eyes were firm but there wasn't hostility in it. "There's bad people who might want to target her for it. Will you be able to protect her if that happens?"

While Erika by no means believed she could fight the CCC all on her own, she was confident in one thing at least. "They won't be able to find me as long as I'm careful with my shadow magic." Erika told him, more than a little annoyed. "There's no need for Clover to learn to fight. We're going, so do not disturb." Before anyone could get another word in edgewise, Erika and Clover went back up to their rooms. "Remember when I asked you to be my partner?" An eager, energetic smile broke out on the usually calm face. "We're going to save the city together." She tossed a costume Clover's way to let her hide her identity, just as Erika could when she was the Blue Lotus. Holding her sidekick's hand, she cast the spell to melt into shadows. Destination? The Wall of Glory.

Once on the wall, Erika quickly slipped her costume on, cape happily blowing in the wind behind her. "Your cat eyes and ears are sharper than my own human ones." The Blue Lotus told her new partner. "If you hear anyone crying for help, lead me to them and we'll save them." She smiled boldly as the moon looked down upon them. "If you do well, I'll give you plenty of scritches as a reward."
