❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

The wedding was utterly beautiful, even the day after it all Erika was still playing it over in her head. She and Clover had fun that night, a kiss and a story because Clover looked utterly exhausted. It was nice to share a room with her kitty, and it was strange to realize a new couple had been born that night. Maple liked her back? That was so ludicrous, wasn't it? It was good that Clover was allowing it. Despite the bad things Seraphina had done, after she joined the CCC she had changed for the better. Some of the only good things the CCC had ever done, really. Mallier strolled in, already having a bunch of tech stuff in her hands after she opened the door, newly a Harrington, joining the clan. No longer noble, but still a good name.

"Rosemary and I worked on some things, Clover, if you want to give them a look." It would be machines to help her organs do their jobs, her kidneys and everything else that needed the help. There was a crafty smile on Mallier's face. "If we can repurpose the CCC's wartech into medicine, we may be able to help everyone." She looked up at Erika, as if asking for permission. "Can we look her over to see what needs to be done?" They already had the medical examination, but still, the Spiderweb wanted to be sure before making any drastic decisions. "It's up to Clover." She replied, becoming quite adept at reading people's lips. She preferred sign language though, it was easier to read the hand movements than the smaller lip movements. Some people even had a habit of barely moving their lips at all when speaking!

Erika gave the little genius a small smile right as Eamon strolled along to check up on her, new matching rings on both of their fingers. "So when are you going to make a new Harrington?" Mallier blushed a bit and coughed, trying to regain her composure. Eamon simply fell down right on his face from the surprise. "Wh-what are you saying? It's too early for that!" Eamon stammered right as Mallier giggled, patting her tummy. "I'm actually pregnant." She said with a tender smile, closing her eyes, setting the machinery down. "Why do you think we got married?" Well that was quite the surprise. "I thought you didn't want to tell them?" Eamon asked her, holding her protectively against his chest. "It's okay. I wanted to have a separate announcement for it though."

After the brief check up on Clover - if she allowed it of course - Erika laid back in bed, the white kitten at her side. "Well, do you want to try a little something? Now that it's morning, you have a bit more energy." She grinned, tentacles forming, ready to play. "Wanna have some fun?"

Clover was too tired that night to really do much, getting dressed on her own had exhausted her. Luckily, Erika seemed to recognize the signs and instead they cuddled as Erika read a story, the kitten falling asleep with her head on Erika's shoulder. The kitten curled up into her side as she did every night, too exhausted to feel the pain that normally plagued her. It had been a busy day, Clover had spent more time out of her room than she had in the past two weeks and she had, had a great time. The wedding had wiped her out though, exhausting the kitten of all energy stores and making her fall asleep almost as soon as the cuddling started, her tail swishing in her sleep, the kitten occasionally coughing as she struggled to breathe.

In the morning, Mallier came in first thing, waking the girls up with her ideas of how to use the CCC tech to their advantage. Clover blearily propped herself up on a pillow, her ears twitching as she took in the information. She was covered with a blanket and yet, the kitten still shivered. "Clover will allow it," she nodded her head to agree to the exam. Eamon waltzed his way in, prompting Erika to tease him. The boy fell flat on his face, completely red from embarrassment. The kitten's eyes widened as she smelled it, Mallier had a different scent about her and it wasn't just the fact that she and Eamon smelled of each other. Mallier's confirmation explained it, she was growing a little watermelon in her belly, no doubt one that would look just like them. "Clover is very happy for Eamon and Mallier," she stated, giving them a soft smile.

Eamon left, allowing Mallier to complete the exam. She pulled the blanket off of the kitten, exposing her revealing outfit that she had fallen asleep in. Mallier smiled knowingly, snickering politely behind a well-placed hand. The kitten blushed, looking down. "It's okay, we all do it," Mallier wriggled her eyebrows and started the exam. She tested the weakness in Clover's arms, noting how significant the weakness had become. Clover could barely hold a pencil in her hand without her fingers shaking. Not to mention how awful her breathing became doing simple tasks like sitting up and laying down. It was why the kitten simply propped herself up on pillows, it was a good position to sleep and sit up on. Mallier made Clover take the rest of her clothing off, the kitten sitting there, completely nude, as Mallier pushed and pressed and listened, testing every point of her body.

When it was done, she used a special marker to draw on Clover, marking where each implant would go. While in there, Rosemary and Mallier were going to try to fix Clover's none expanding lungs, although with what method they weren't sure. When it was at last over, Mallier assisted Clover back into her undergarments and left the two girls alone, making sure to tell Maple, who was in the hall, not to disturb them. Clover leaned against the pillows with a sigh, being a patient was sometimes more work than being the doctor.

Clover blushed when Erika proposed that they try a little something. The kitten nodded, wondering what Erika had in mind. Darkness tentacles began to form around her former Master, a knowing grin on her face. Clover swallowed hard, nodding. It was just Erika, she would never hurt her, the kitten reminded herself. "Clover will try," she said, knowing she needed to be brave if she ever wanted to get over the trauma of the Underdark.

Erika watched as Mallier did her thing. It was funny, just once she was simply another classmate and also one of Eamon's two girlfriends. Then suddenly this girl turned out to have secretly been a genius this whole time, and not only that, but she was now the leader of their little team here? It was funny how things happened sometimes. She never could have thought the brunette could become so influential in her life as one of their most trusted allies. And here she was, allowing a newly pregnant Mallier to examine Clover in order to best determine how to help her and where to do the implants, even drawing on her with a marker. "How long until it's ready?" She asked and Mallier shrugged. "Probably a little, maybe a few days. But I want everyone's implants working before we go to recolonize and spread out." And as Clover had it the worst, she was the first priority.

Once she was gone, Erika and Clover finally had some alone time. The shadow mage blushed as her tentacles rose, waiting to play and toy with poor little Clover. "I'm glad you dressed so pretty just for me." She said with a little purr at the back of her throat. Her eyes were gentle though, full of love. "I'll go slow, okay? So if you get scared, just tell me." Erika, too, had been violated. She knew the pain, she knew how crippling and terrifying it could be. Even now she was scared for the both of them but she knew that as a couple, if they couldn't do this they'd never make it over the trauma. They'd have to do it together, wouldn't they?

Erika began to peel off their clothes, hands moving with deft precision. Even if she couldn't hear Clover's moans and cries, she could still hear the echo of it all in the corner of her mind. Her hands caressed softly, gently. "Just tap my nose if you're scared, if I can't hear you I won't know, love." Heart pounding with anxiety, Erika explored Clover's body in a very different way from the usual when they were fighting in the bath trying to make the kitten allow herself to be cleaned. Her fingers reached downwards towards the flower's center, rubbing at the nectar, eyes staring softly into Clover's own.

Clover blushed and nodded, giving Erika permission to proceed. "Clover will let Erika know," she said as Erika's hands made their way across her body, removing the little amount of clothing that Clover was wearing. It was different when it was consensual between two people. Even if Erika couldn't hear it, no doubt she could envision it as Clover gasped and mewled, becoming breathless as her back arched, the sensation unlike any other. The kitten was left shaking and panting, but it was different this time. Her heart felt full as she murmured Erika's name, wishing she could return what was being given to her. When it was over, Clover could hardly stay awake, her energy having been used up. She awoke around noon, nibbled at lunch, and went right back to sleep.

True to her word, Mallier had the devices ready within a week. She had tested them on mice first, ensuring that they would work properly. The day prior, Clover wasn't allowed to eat anything, which was fine, but it meant that she had even less energy than normal. "Clover is scared," the kitten admitted, she was already in so much pain, what if this only made it worse? What if it didn't work? What if she never got better? She voiced this all to Maple, who was sitting with her while Erika went off to learn more sign language. "It'll work," Maple said, clasping Clover's hands in her own. "And if you don't get better, then I'll be there to take care of you, promise." Maple brushed Clover's hair out of her eyes, "oh and Erika will be too." She stuck her tongue out, teasing her sister, who blushed.

The next day, early in the morning, they drove to the hospital where the procedure would be happening. They didn't have a proper environment to operate on someone in the Spiderweb, much to Clover's disappointment. She sat nervously in the car, her tail swishing anxiously as Maple helped her into her wheelchair and into the waiting room. After getting her hospital bracelet, Clover sat with Erika anxiously, hoping that everything would go smoothly. When they went back into the prep area, the kitten whimpered when the nurse changed her into a hospital gown and inserted a catheter, since moving the first few days would be nigh impossible. They did the IV next and after getting something to calm the nerves and looping the oxygen around Clover's ears, the loopy kitten said goodbye, declaring her love for Erika in the hallway.

The procedure was a long one, much longer than expected. They ran into a few problems that they had anticipated, but weren't fully prepared for. In the end, after Clover's lungs continued to collapse, they gave her a new set altogether, having to open up another hole, this one wider than the rest. They were lucky they had a large supply after the CCC's last stand. Once the implants were in and secure, Mallier tested them, making certain that they were working before the surgeon sewed Clover back up. They had gotten into the OR at 10 AM, by the time they left and Clover was up in a room, it was 6 PM. "Oh, thank goodness!" Maple cried, rushing forward as soon as they were allowed in the room.

"Some things went wrong," Mallier confessed, having come up the same time as Clover, "but we fixed it." Clover would have to be in the hospital for a longer than anticipated, but it was worth it. Her problems weren't entirely fixed, no doubt her body would never have the same amount of strength it once did, but it was enough to free Clover from the exhaustion and breathlessness and perhaps, with plenty of work, one day be able to walk again on her own.

❝Across the ocean, we found despair.❞

|| Need you Now || Lady Antebellum ||

After Clover's operation, Erika was always there at her side to embrace and snuggle her and comfort her through recovery. Mallier and Rosemary were going down a list now, to trying to cure everyone's curse one by one, saving Erika for last because Clover needed her. By the end, the white kitten would have hopefully recovered enough that she would be able to take care of a recovering Erika. Luckily for the weird lesbians, Erika's was only ear implants so it wasn't like she was having her stomach but open or anything. "It'll be okay, I'm here." After their first love session, Erika went back to reading stories and giving pets for now. Next time they would both be feeling better, well enough to hopefully pleasure one another. For now though they had to wait.

Rosemary would be the first one because if they could fix her sight, everything would be far easier. They would have to counteract the effects of the curse, which would be the most complicated aspect of this new CCC-based technology. Hard at work, and another few days later it was time for the operation to fix her corneas and retinas using nanomachine technology. It was then that they noticed it - something was preventing the body from healing to it's previous maximum potential. Was this the curse, everyone wondered? When Rosemary came out and a few days later when they could finally remove the bandages, an announcement was made with everyone present. "I can see." Rosemary said with a small smile. "But only in a small corner of my vision. But even, so, I can see again." She cried as the gift of sight was returned to her, no longer trapped in the dark.

Over the next month the rest of the team got their implants in. It was impossible to completely negate the curse's effects but they could at least bring back some of the function that they had lost. Alistair could have a very slow and limped walk for example, not trapped in the wheelchair anymore. Maple was now able to smell basic scents to some extent again, to a human's level of sensitivity. Even Seraphina, after her operation, could wiggle the fingers of her hand but not move it. Though her piano skills would never go back to what they were, at least she could play a little bit more now than before with her stationary hand.

Erika would be the last one. "I can't wait." She whispered as she gave Clover one last hug before being taken into the operating room where the doctors would be trying to fix her up. "To hear your moaning voice." With an exhausted teasing wink, Erika was taken in, mask placed over her mouth, the operation was set to begin. Drearily, a few hours later, it was done and she could hear it the sound of a piano, just faintly, a tiny little whisper that she could only hear through one side. But even that tiny bit was enough. Dazed by the drugs, Erika fell back to sleep, eyes fluttering shut.

Clover's recovery was as hard as expected. Getting a new set of lungs wasn't easy and for the first week, the kitten could hardly move. Her body hadn't rejected the lungs, which was great and after three days the chest tubes were removed, the kitten breathing nearly on her own with the assistance of the oxygen tank. She was barely lucid, but in her waking moments, aside from crying in pain, she managed to communicate. On the fourth day, she sat up and took sips of water, a Doctor listening to her lungs and instructing her to breathe in and out. He described to them the condition of the rest of Clover's organs, now knowing the full extent of the damage the miasma had done to her body. Nearly all of her organs had been effected and while slightly damaged, they were functioning, her kidneys and liver back in working order.

After seven days, the nurse made Clover get up and go for a wheelchair ride to the healing garden. There, Erika read her a story and Clover fell asleep, the drugs knocking her out. They began to tapper the medications down, giving Clover more waking time to read with Erika and take spoonfuls of food that Maple tried to shove down her throat, claiming that her sister was too scrawny and would never grow boobs if she didn't feed her. After two weeks, the oxygen was removed, Clover could breathe in without feeling as though her lungs wouldn't expand. She could speak without coughing, she could sit up and move around without struggling and wheezing to catch her breath. She was still confined to a wheelchair, her limbs far too weak to hold anything or even push herself, but she was working on that.

After three weeks, Clover was discharged and could take a shower, something that even Maple forced her to do, scrubbing her hair, careful around the fresh scars that were healing nicely. Erika held her up while Sera scrubbed, Clover screaming about the water and how much she hated it the entire time, but hey, at least she could scream again! Afterwards she spent her first night back laying in the garden, staring up at the sky with a new found gratitude. She reached her hand up as though trying to cup the clouds in her hands, elbows shaking as her sleeve fell down a scrawny arm. "Clover is happy," she said to Erika, "because Clover can be with Erika outside." Perhaps childish, but Clover was so glad for a moment like this.

The next week, Erika was due for her surgery. Maple had a small scar from her surgery on her head, one that would heal nicely according to the doctor, but she was overjoyed to smell again. She gave Clover a big hug when they arrived at the hospital, still inpatient because her stitches were infected. "Clover missed Maple too," the kitten said as they waited for Erika to be released from her surgery. This place was far too familiar by now, the staff all stopping to talk and say hello and see how the kitten was doing. Clover wasn't here for herself though, she was here for Erika and when her former master emerged from surgery at last, it was such a relief that Clover cried. She clung to her that night, curling up at the foot of Erika's bed the same way she used to, her words echoing in Clover's head. The kitten smiled as a warm blush heated up her face. "Clover can't wait," she whispered, falling right to sleep.

Just like Rosemary and Maple before her, Erika was going to have scars on her head from the stitches from the operation, there was nothing that could really be done about that. It wouldn't be too bad, recovery technology in terms of scars had improved as the years went on after all. Her head felt too tight as if it was going to rip and tear if she wasn't careful. Of course through the haze of pain medicine Erika wasn't really able to do anything at all but stare at nothing, trying to catch little sounds in her few waking moments. She could only hear out the left ear and it was very hard to hear at all, but even the fact that no longer would her world be one of silence made her incredibly happy.

Well, Clover no doubt being at her side the entire time was of great happy-making, too. The days crawled by and while recovery was a bit difficult, it was nowhere near as hard as what Alistair had to deal with, or Seraphina whose fingers were all twitchy and full of pain. Hers was the second easiest really, Maple having the shortest recovery time. In the end though, maybe four days after the operation Erika opened her eyes, looking around in confusion, feeling not like a zombie for the first time in days. She tilted her head to the sound of something, anything, catching Clover's soft breathing. It was the middle of the night, so no doubt her lover was asleep. So Erika moved painfully over, careful not to shift her head around too much, and clung to Clover's soft fluffy tail and fell back to sleep with a contented smile on her face.

The sunrise came and she was finally awake for real now, yawning and actually almost being able to hear it. She practiced a few words in the lazy stupor of morning. "Hello." She said to nothing. "I am Erika Harrington, the Blue Lotus, and Clover's lover!" She couldn't really hear it, but she could almost kind of and that was better than nothing. According to the note Rosemary left on the night desk, it would take a while before the sense becomes more usable, you had to train it. It would never be what it used to be, but at least it would be maybe thirty percent if you were lucky. Erika hoped so, she wanted to be play to play music again and dive into the world of beautiful sounds and melodies. Oh and teach Clover more of that ukelele too.

Clover was so excited for Erika to awake, she tried to stay by her side as much as she could, but the others would often take her back home, wanting Clover to eat proper meals and rest up. She would return in the evening to sleep by Erika's side and wake up beside her every morning, hoping that Erika would be lucid enough to speak to her. It felt like forever before Erika was at last up, the kitten stirring, her ears twitching when a familiar voice reached her ears. "Erika?" Clover asked, rubbing at her tired eyes. She noticed her former master was looking more like herself, grinning from ear to ear. The kitten sat upright, managing to crawl forward and lean into Erika's chest. "Clover is so happy Erika is awake," the kitten purred sleepily, tears springing to her eyes. "Clover was so worried," she nuzzled Erika's chest before falling right back to sleep, the early morning sunshine setting her white hair aglow.

When she awoke a bit later in the morning, Clover looked up at her love, wondering if it was really alright for them to be together. Clover was a cat after all and for the time being, they had no idea if she would eventually turn back into one. The kitten closed her eyes, she shouldn't allow her anxiety to get the best of her, but after having been put through the ringer, the kitten couldn't help it. She leaned up to give Erika a peck on the chin, "Clover missed Erika," the kitten admitted, hoping her beloved could hear her. Her heart hammered in her chest, the door slamming open as the rowdy Khryia came in to visit. "Morning Master!" She beamed, "I brought you some food! Oh and you too Clover!" The dragon snickered, setting down a bag of food she had brought from home beside the tray of hospital food. Maple had been discharged the day prior and was relaxing back at the Spiderweb.

"Rosemary wants me to remind both of you to eat up! She made plenty of yummy food and doesn't want it to go to waste!" Khryia grinned maniaclly, looking like her old, evil self. "And if you don't, I'll spoon feed you until you're begging for mercy." She reached forward, patting both of their head's as though she were the one in charge.

She still felt tired and lethargic, it was going to have to be a little while before she was able to really do anything, let alone be discharged, but she had recovered enough to regain her lucidity and that was definitely a step in the right direction. She could kind of hear the echo of sounds, after a little bit more experimentation. Not the sounds themselves really, but she could feel them against her only good ear, the left one. It was able to pick up on the faint vibrations. With time that would turn into sound. Then she felt a familiar echo of a sound somewhere close. As she turned to try to guess where a kiss aimed at her face startled Erika into a giggle and she could vaguely hear the vibration.

Clover said something, didn't she? "I almost heard you. I can tell when there's sound now!" She could kind of hear hers, too. The shadow mage was nearly in tears, she couldn't wait to be able to have something more than just little whiffs here and there. As they were about to have a beautiful tender moment, someone burst in. Erika sniffed, smelling that she was taking better care of herself now after having hygiene lessons from Mallier and Maple. The black dragon was waving around a bunch of food cooked by Rosemary herself. Despite having only a corner of her vision she was still able to cook a meal for them. "Tell her thanks!" Erika told her familiar, glad to see Khryia back to her old rambunctious self. "We can spoonfeed ourselves." The dragon smiled, patting her as if she were a dog and then gave Clover something like an awkward one-armed hug and then bounded off, food having been delivered.

"Well, let's eat!" Erika offered her hand to Clover, a spoon of food already. She opened her mouth, waiting for Clover to deliver food to her, as well. It seemed the silly little romantic actually did want for them to spoonfeed one another, didn't she? Maybe it was a cute way to start the day, to go to the rest of their lives! "Um, do you want to learn more ukelele later? We can buy you one once my hearing starts coming back better." Not yet, but perhaps in the next few days she could have a miracle. It was very nice to see Clover up and about though. "Thank you for always being there for me every night." She may have been asleep and drugged up, but she could somehow feel it.

Clover's tail began to swish eagerly. Erika could almost hear her? That was good, wasn't it? Clover's own ears twitched, as though attempting to show Erika's the proper way to do it. "Clover is so happy," she said again, steadying herself as she sat up, feeling slightly dizzy from moving too quickly. Khyria bound in at the worst possible time of course, looking as happy as a clam as she delivered food for them and then, just as quickly as she had come, trotted off to do who knows what once Erika had shooed her away. "Clover does not think that Khryia smells terrible anymore," she noted, having caught a whiff when the dragon came running inside with the bag of food. She no longer stunk of lizard, but had a flowery, almost pleasant smell about her now.

The kitten turned towards Erika, who had been serious in her proposition to spoon feed her kitten. "Clover will do best," she promised, reaching over with a shaky hand for a spoon. Clover tried to feed Erika without spilling the food everywhere, using her other hand in an attempt to steady it. At the same time she opened her mouth, allowing Erika to deposit it in. It was delicious of course, but with all of the new machinery in her body, Clover was hardly able to enjoy it before she felt full. "Clover cannot eat more," she said after consuming half, "But Clover will feed Erika if Erika is still hungry?" She didn't want to ruin this perfectly good meal, having only spilled a little bit so far.

The kitten tilted her head to the side in question when Erika asked about the ukulele. It took a second for the kitten to recall what exactly the instrument was, but when she did, she thought about it more, wondering if it was something she truly wanted to do. "Perhaps," Clover replied at last. "Clover does not have the hand strength for it," she had barely managed to grip the spoon without it falling from her fingers. The kitten smiled softly when Erika thanked her, shaking her head. "Erika did the same for Clover, Clover will do it for Erika." She reassured her, glad that they could be together.

It was okay for Clover to not want to learn the ukelele. While she had been learning it, the fact remained that in some way Erika did push the musical hobby onto her pet. There was no need for that, Clover would be perfectly capable of finding her own hobbies then. "I need more flute practice." She said between spoons, putting down her own arm and congratulating Clover every time she was able to feed her without spilling. Erika was able to finish almost three quarters before she felt full, very much enjoying the soupy food that was easy for the girls to digest. "Maybe until my hearing comes back better, you can be my ears and tell me if I'm still good?" Some of Erika's favorite things to do was improvise with the flute.

And as time went on she was finally given her same old silver winged flute thanks to Eamon more or less tossing the case at her one day. Erika was very excited to give it a go, her ears becoming a bit better day by day. She couldn't exactly hear yet but it was getting more sensitive, she could tell that for sure. So as Clover was made to suffer physiotherapy to improve her limb strength and everything else she needed help with, Erika decided to try to inspire her with an improvised, hopeful sort of song, jittery and upbeat. Would she like it? The shadow mage hoped so. She could hear her entire ear tingle with the stimulation of the brass instrument translating her blows and finger movements into sound. Of course, Khryia was here to accompany her, since Sera was busy with Mallier today trying to find a good farm for them to move to for the time being, safe and secluded from society.

"Was I good?" Erika asked her lover once the song and the physio were over. She gave Clover a kiss to try to reward her for all of her hard work. Khryia's tail was thumping as she nodded. "Time to take my leave then!" She ran off somewhere so as to not get in the way of the two lesbians. Rumor had it Fiyero had his eye on the dragon again. Whether or not she ever forgave him for their first relationship was probably a story for another day. In the end they'd have to part anyways, as Eamon and Mallier would be moving to Ancient London while the farm Erika and those following her would be situated farther south from London, in a quiet wooded area. Hopefully some day soon it'd be time for them to visit the land. According to the deal with the Anima, the humans only had eight months left to leave this island behind and go back to where they came from.

"Clover will help Erika hear her music," she promised, her tail swishing eagerly. It was only a few days until Erika was released to go home, the kitten glad that they could relax there rather than try to make things work in the hospital, which was very hard considering nurses were always coming in to check on Erika and take her vitals. The kitten was all too happy to return, she hated medical facilities, especially after the run in's with the CCC. Now that she had a bit more energy, Clover wanted to try alchemy again, but since her hands didn't have the strength to hold anything, the kitten couldn't garden or even stir any sort of brew. When she tried to so much as grip a pencil, her hands shook uncontrollably, making writing nigh impossible.

Mallier came up with the idea to start pushing Clover to exercise. So everyday, she went into the room the others had used to train in order to start from square one. The hope was that she would be able to hold things, lift her arms, and perhaps be able to push herself in the wheelchair. It would take a lot of work, but Clover was willing to put the hours in. Today in particular, the kitten had an audience of Khyria and Erika, while Maple guided her sister. Mallier and Sera had gone off to find a good farm for them to move to, which Clover was ever so excited about. "Clover will do best," she said as Maple brought over the different instruments to exercise her hands and arms with. She had worked up from feather light to pencil and was now trying to grip and scrawl her name out on a piece of parchment. "There you go, keep going," Maple smiled, breathing in deeply. "You can do it," the sound of Erika's flute, an upbeat tune, was a nice accompaniment.

When Clover could no longer stand to stare at the paper any longer, Maple helped her out of her chair and onto the floor. Even if Clover wasn't actively using them, it was important to continue leg exercises so that the muscles didn't atrophy. "Come on, lift!" Maple encouraged, the kitten biting back a cry of pain. It hurt, it hurt so much and yet, Clover still pushed through, wanting to one day walk again. She rolled onto her side, turning over in order to crawl across the blue mats, her arms and legs wobbling with the weight bearing exercise. When it was over, Maple carried Clover back to her chair, the white haired kitten's legs dragging uselessly underneath her. "There you go, oh! I think Fiyero's calling me, Erika will push you, okay?" Clover nodded, watching Maple leave. Khryia too, seemed eager to go, leaving the two girls alone together.

The kitten managed to push herself forward a little, Erika finishing up her pretty tune. "Erika was very good, like always," the kitten promised with a shy smile. Since that one fateful morning before their surgeries, the girl's had yet to find a chance to be intimate again. They were either interrupted, blocked by Maple or Sera, or had other projects they were pulled away to attend to.

Erika had no idea what she was doing. She as playing the flute, improvising tot he best of her ability, trying to do what she did in the past, just feel the music and go along with the melody and the accompaniment. Her best skill was making up the flute as it went along, right? But how was she supposed to get a good feel like this? She could only barely feel the vibrations against her ear, but she couldn't translate that into music, not yet. "I think you did good." Khryia said with a snicker, no doubt having been working hard doubletime as the accompaniment in order to make Erika's clearly jumbled mess of a song good. Or at least that was what she thought, who knew if she was right or not? "You're just saying that because I want to think I did good." Erika sighed, seeming defeated.

After Khryia ran off to let them be alone Erika and Clover could hopefully have a chance to be intimate again. That was her hope at least, even if it meant Clover was exhausted from her work. "Congratulations on the therapy, I'm proud of you." She told Clover, hoping that it would motivate her to keep on working at it on strengthening her body once again. It would be a struggle and the shadow mage wanted to be at her side the entire time. "Let's go have some alone time!" Clover complimented her flute as always and she smiled, hoping against hope that it was true. "Thank you." She said with a bit of shyness to it. In the end though it seemed she and Clover were actually probably not going to get to have intimate time, not with how tired the kitty probably was.

So with a sigh, ignoring the buzzing heat between her legs, Erika took out another book, cuddling in next to her girlfriend, who was also her friend and a girl and a cat too. "I guess we can read another story." All the books were farm stories about animals and farm life and other such things in preparation for when they would eventually get to go live on one for real. This would help both Erika and Clover get used tot he different kinds of animals and plants they'd probably have to take care of. It's not like they were going to e farmers just because the uniforms were cute! (They weren't, overalls and plaid? No way! Eamon would die if they had to wear that! He would kill them himself!)

Then she imagined Clover in just overalls and for some reason it was the most adorable thing in the world.

"Clover is going to be strong again," she said with a tired smile, allowing Erika to take the handles of her wheelchair and wheel her out out of the room they were using to practice in. Clover was tired, it was true, but she also wanted to make Erika happy. Even if she was exhausted, she could still do her best to fulfill the needs of the girl who loved her so much. "Clover is looking forward," she said, scratching her cheek as her tail swished anxiously. When they reached the room, they settled into bed, Clover laying her head on Erika's shoulder. "Clover likes stories," she smiled, a bit upset that her fatigue was so obvious. Even after the surgery and working so hard, she still felt so tired. At least she was sleeping less and seemed to have more energy, although Mallier and Rosemary had said it would take time to rebuild her stamina. Clover didn't want to wait any longer! She wanted to be better already! She was impatient!

When Erika rose to use the restroom, Clover did her best to wriggle out of her clothes, she had the strength to go for a little bit and if it would make Erika happy than the kitty was more than willing to put up with the symptoms that would plague her afterwards. After the first time they had done such a thing, Maple had been frantic with worry. Clover had slept through the day afterwards and Maple had cornered Erika and interrogated her on what she had done to her sister. The others had known of course, but Maple, without her trusty nose, had been unable to smell the scent of her sister all over Erika. It was embarrassing to say the least and Clover had turned bright red from her cheeks to the tips of her ears upon finding out that Maple had done such a thing.

She didn't understand why Maple was so protective when she herself was more than likely bedding Seraphina. Although to think of her sister as yielding to the unruly pink haired mage was a little bit strange. No doubt Seraphina enjoyed making Maple squirm. Clover sighed, shaking her head. Their family dynamic was so odd and yet, they still managed to all enjoy living together, even if sometimes they were at one another's throats. Still, Clover would miss them when they moved away to their new farm. She was excited to sit in a window under the sun, to smell the grass and trees and once she could, chase the animals.

When Erika returned from her toilet time, Clover rolled over onto her stomach, attempting to look cute in her undergarments for Erika. "Master, Clover was waiting," she said, tail swishing.

Erika finished cleaning herself off after getting the story ready. She was blushing faintly, the heat was in her loins and she didn't quite know what to do about it. Actually, what could she do about it? It was - well, no doubt if she just took care of it in here Clover would find out so she decided to just not bother. It'd be best to try to ignore the heat and read the story and go to sleep. The shadow mage did not want to burden her no doubt exhausted lover with silly things like heat and lust. She exited her room, with a smile, ready to read the story to Clover, the book already set up and waiting to be opened, a world of wonder inside - oh wait, what? What was that? Why was Clover dressed up like that again?

Did she really want to do it again, even after all the hard work she had done? Erika wasn't an idiot, she knew Clover well enough to know just what that tail swishing meant. If - if Clover herself wanted this, then Erika had no reason to hold back. No doubt the kitten was smart enough to understand what she wanted here, and she was going to get it, it seemed. "I guess you'd rather tell a story time with our bodies instead, wouldn't you?" And one day soon maybe she'd be able to truly hear the moans and whimpers of Clover as their bodies meshed together.

A single tentacle sprouted up to act as Erika's tail to wrap around Clover's own, her hands exploring the kitten's bodies and finding her favorite rub spots - one of which, oddly enough, was on her side near the top of one of her legs. "This is a reward for all your hard work, and you're going to have it whether you want it or not." Erika of course, was a natural dominant even back with Seraphina she was the one in control. Something like this, she was very accustomed to. Finally when it was over, Erika panted, feeling tired, but satisfied. "Um, I hope I didn't make too much... noise?" Near deaf it was hard to gauge just how loud she could have been once they had achieved Heaven together. She unsummoned the tentacle and snuggled closer to Clover in their mutual afterglow, hoping that the smell of afterglow wasn't bothering her.

Well, even if it did, the reward of Heaven was good enough to not worry about that, wasn't it? Erika decided to finish the night with a soft peck of a kiss and shut her eyes.

Clover smiled in what she hoped was a confident and coy way, a smile that her old self no doubt would have slipped on easily. Her confidence had been shot since the whole Underdark incident, it was obvious in the way she hated being alone, how she second guessed herself on every decision despite the fact that she had used to be so self assured. She was glad that even after all this, Erika still wanted to be with her. Even after the betrayals, the disappearing, the kidnappings, being violated and torn apart and put back together, Erika still wanted to her. The kitten rolled over at her Master's every beck and call and now, she lay on her back as Erika crawled over her, removing her undergarments. "Clover will submit," she said, a squeak coming out as Erika's hand rested on her favorite spot.

The evening was full of squeaks, purrs, moaning, and at the very end, panting. Clover was feeling so sleepy afterwards that she curled up without clothing beside Erika. "Erika doesn't make lots of noise," Clover shook her head. Actually, Erika was rather quiet during the entire process. Sure, she talked plenty, but that was more possessive loving stuff. The kitten almost felt bad, as compared to Erika's arousing speeches, she spent most of the time purring and trying not to be too loud so that the others wouldn't hear them. "Clover is happy," she said as she fell to sleep, her tail resting against her leg. In the morning, Khyria burst inside, carrying their breakfast and nearly tripping and spilling it everywhere. "Master! Master! Mallier and Seraphina found us a farm! A big one! A huge one!"

Clover sat up, clutching the blanket against her chest. She used her other hand to rub her eyes, knowing that today, she was going to work hard again too. "Aw, as cute as ever," Khyria pat her head, perhaps not completely over her crush, or maybe the infatuation with familiars and Clover would never end.

With contentment in her heart, Erika fell to sleep with Clover at her side, both of them as nude as nude can be. Morning came, and Khryia exploded into the room. For some reason Erika was able to somehow notice it, just almost hearing Khryia's voice, almost like an echo of the voice. It was getting closer, she could get faint inflections here and there. She was making progress, and progress was always good to make. Breakfast, she could smell that much clearly. She also heard the excited up and down trills of the dragon's words. "Are we going to head out today to check it out?" She asked and the dragon nodded as Erika covered both herself and Clover up with the blanket, only she was allowed to see. And doctors. And Rosemary and Maple she supposed. "Yeah! Mallier wants us to see if we'll like it!"

Rosemary and Maple would also be staying with them long term at the farm once they were there, while Seraphina and Alistair would be there for a few weeks while they figured out what they wanted to do with the rest of her lives. Though still they all had a idea they'd be seeing Sera again quite often now that she and Maple were an item. It happened almost literally overnight, and now they were together despite everything that had set them as enemies earlier on. "Well, we're all dressed." Cutely, they were, in special Eamon clothes that he made for them. "Let's wait with Khryia in the lobby for Mallier to pick us up?" She helped Clover up and into the wheelchair, giving her one last kiss before heading out into the day.

Hopefully soon Mallier would decide that they were well enough to get ready to go and finally have Erika be officially discharged. It would be soon, the doctors said within the next day or so she would be cleared. She had recovered well, without any real complications. It was just the matter of making sure the implants were in fact working. The only real issue was that the regaining of her sense was going slower than it did for all the others. Sera was able to move her fingers bit by bit, Maple could smell like a normal human, Rosemary had a quarter of one eye's vision, but Erika was still at vibrational hearing than anything concrete. She clung harder to Clover's handles, hoping to really hear again soon.

The kitten's ears perked up upon learning that they were going to visit their potential farm today. Khyria skipped off to give them some privacy so that Erika could help Clover dress and feed herself. Clover felt a bit like a baby as Erika assisted her to the bathroom to do basic tasks. It was embarrassing, Clover's cheeks heated every time Erika had to brush her hair or help her pull up her undergarments. Today, Eamon had made Clover an outfit that was both cute and classy, but wouldn't make her too hot in the sunshine. It was early fall once more, the summer having quickly changed to the next season while they were busy recovering. "Clover is sorry Erika has to do all this," the kitten said as Erika placed her in her wheelchair.

She took the handles, the kitten nodding in agreement when Erika suggested that they meet Mallier in the lobby. Khyria was already there, dressed up in a spunky outfit no doubt Fiyero and Eamon had designed together. "Khyria does not smell anymore, Clover noticed." It seemed that Khyria had at last took note on how to put on deodorizer and take a proper shower. The dragon smelled of flowers now, making it not so bad to be in her presence. She still had that natural dragon musk, but it was covered by the perfume of whatever deodorant she had chosen. Mallier arrived in the lobby a few minutes later, grinning from ear to ear. "Clover is excited and nervous," she couldn't wait to see their possible new farm. She hoped that it had plenty of sunlight to take naps in.

Their ride to the farm was a long one, but Clover didn't mind. She leaned her head against Erika's shoulder as she often did, waiting for their vehicle to stop. When it at last began to slow, Clover sat upright, looking out the window. They were winding down a country road lined with trees, a dense forest packed beyond. The trees led up to a gate that had been left open, a field opening up before them. Clover's eyes widened as they drove up a hill, a beautiful house poised on top of it. The house was a barn style with a wrap around porch. There was a ramp that Clover could go up and down and warm light spilled out from the interior. Inside, it smelled of sugar cookies and had plenty of space. As of right now it was barren of furniture, but that could easily be solved.

"So, what do you think?"

Driving across the bridge made by mages for easy passage for all the humans and mages leaving behind the island sanctuary they once had, Erika found herself looking at the farm up ahead. Cookie had tagged along too, clinging to Clover's head as if he was a hat in ferret form, his favorite thing to do for people it seemed. Erika smiled and then the car stopped, Khryia almost jumping out of the car with a swish of the tail, a stomping of the feet. The farm was pretty looking, rustic in a way but also a tiny bit of modernism too with the wrapround porch and a ramp too. Examining it with Clover she could already imagine it, a room for her and Clover, an area for setting up a piano and a flute station, an area for books, animals to buy and give a happy home too...

"I like it!" Erika said, rubbing Clover's ears, floofing them up. She could already see it in the future how she and Clover could quietly enjoy their life here. Sure, maybe they could visit the big city, Ancient London, once in a while and currently there was a lot of effort going around to turn Ancient London into a livable area again but that wasn't a fight for Erika to fight, that was Mallier and Eamon's story now."I hope you like it too, Clover." Before they could go check out an area for a kitchen, Cookie pulled up and seemed to take Clover's hands into his own, eyes wide and earnest. What was he doing?

The ferret familiar squirmed a little in thought even Khryia jumped and clung to Erika in happiness that she no longer seemed to smell to Clover despite how much she hated to take baths. "I was in love with you the whole time." Cookie said quietly, eyes watering in his girly outfit, a cute little skirt, a floofy blousy top. "I just wanted to say it, I know you love someone else." He broke into tears, running away. "I'm sorry! I'll leave now!" He ran away, little ferret feet scampering away to safety. It was around then that Mallier seemed to fall to her knees, clutching her stomach, looking ill. "Mal? Are you okay?" Erika rushed to her side. "Is it the baby? Morning sickness?"

Clover purred, a light blushing coming onto her cheeks as Erika rubbed away at her ears. "Get a room you two!" Mallier snickered lightheartedly, although anyone was free to pet Clover and it derived a different sort of pleasure than the one that only Erika could make her feel. Khryia seemed to jump right in, wanting to join the petting party until Cookie interrupted them, coming between Clover and Erika and Khyria. He took Clover's hands, his cheeks flushed red. Clover tilted her head to the side, instantly knowing that something was up. It seemed that Cookie too, had been housing a crush on the kitten this whole time. Clover's cheeks flared vibrantly, her tail standing upright in surprise. She had always thought of Cookie as a good friend, but it seemed that he too, was not immune to Clover's kitty charms. She seemed to have a way with familiars; girls, boys, it didn't matter.

"C-Cookie!" The kitten stuttered as the ferret ran away, tail between his legs. No, not metaphorically either. "I'll go get him!" Khyria offered, taking off after the ferret. As Clover sat stunned in her chair, Mallier bent over in pain, clutching her stomach. Clover's eyes widened, she gripped the handles of her chair and pushed herself forward a few feet before getting out of breath. "Is Mallier okay?" The kitten inquired, a frown gracing her delicate features. Khyria returned, carrying Cookie wrestler style and setting him on the ground. "What's wrong?" Khryia set Cookie down, whose tail sagged in shame. "Is the baby coming? We need to get back home!" They had no time for a car though, they wouldn't be able to make it back to the city hospital on time. What else could they do? Clover wracked her brain, trying to recall if there was something in either her herbology books or alchemy that could be used to remedy the situation.

"Can Khryia fly everyone back?" The kitten asked, concern written clearly across her features. The dragon took the handles on her wheelchair, pushing her forward. "Is there anything we can do?" It seemed the familiars and kitten were at a loss, unfamiliar with the birthing of humans or how such a concept even came about. Sure, they had instincts, but familiars didn't give birth the same way that humans did.

As Cookie ran off, his heartful feelings confirmed, Khryia was quick to chase after the ferret, the dragon naturally faster on her feet than the furry little creature. Right then Mallier almost fell to her knees, holding onto a railing in order to not fall down completely, her face pained, a grunt escaping her throat. "Mallier!" Erika took her arm, helping keep her up, guiding her to the porch. There wasn't any furniture inside but at least outside she could sit down on the steps, viewing the nice wooded area around them. "No, I'm not... it's not coming." She said, face screwed up in discomfort. Erika looked at her tummy, it was clearly swollen a bit but not to the extent that would mean the baby was coming to term. It had only been a few months, after all.

"Just... really nauseous. I need to lay down." Nausea, could Clover handle something like that? They didn't have alchemy materials here but herbology? Plants were all around, and Khryia was good at creation magic! "Khryia, can you make a mortar and pestle? And then a pot?" The dragon nodded, setting the quivering Cookie down to make the materials. Cookie did his work too, wiggling his little fingers to help get into Mallier's head and dull the nausea. A slightly brown mortar and pestle was made to grind plants together, and there was a pot too. "Um, Clover, tell me what you need and Khryia and I can find the plants." As for Cookie, probably it would be good to get water so the furret nodded, running off to find a river to fill the pot up with water.

Erika hugged Clover, ruffling her ears once again. "Okay, let's go get the stuff! Clover can stay here and protect her Eamon's pretty wife!" With a snicker Khryia dashed off into the woods to gather the specified plants they would need for the anti-nausea brew that would help her. Once the baby was closer to term probably Mallier would have to stay in range of a hospital, wouldn't she? Would she still be able to help spearhead the London Reclamation project that she was so looking forward to?

Nausea? That was it? That was definitely something that Clover could handle. Khyria magicked up a mortar and pastel as well as a pot. The kitten wouldn't need the pot, nausea was a simple fix really. "Clover needs peppermint, lots of it and lavender if Khryia can find it." The kitten unstrapped herself and slid out of the wheelchair and onto the floor, crawling forward in the grass to sit beside Mallier as the others rushed around to gather what they needed. "Mallier will be okay?" The kitten wanted to know in concern, hoping that the human was alright. She wasn't going to lose the baby, right? Clover placed her hand on Mallier's stomach, it was too early to feel any kicking of course, but Clover didn't know that and had always heard that when you touched a pregnant woman's stomach, you could feel the baby inside. "Clover does not feel baby."

Her tail swished as they waited, starting up a small fire to brew the water since Cookie had gone through the effort of going to get it. Once they had the ingredients, they ground them together and added them to the boiling water, then stirred a few times. It was poured into a cup afterwards and handed to Mallier to drink. "Peppermint and lavender tea helps nausea," the kitten explained to the others, who no doubt had no idea why Clover had requested those ingredients other than the fact that they could be used to help Mallier. Once their human was feeling a bit better, they managed to go inside the house to look around. It needed a few repairs and upgrades, a bit outdated. They would also need to put something on the staircase so Clover could go upstairs to the bedroom area. For now, Khryia carried Clover bridal style so that they could see each room.

"This one," it was technically the attic, there were cobwebs and dust mites, but a large open window. Clover felt like a princess in a castle as they entered, the window the only light in the room. It was on the top floor, the third one and looked out over the fields. "Clover wants this room," she decided, but her dreams were quickly crashed to the ground. "Sorry Clover," Mallier said, cheeks slightly red from the combination of tea and the heat. "But it would be
a bit hard to put you in this room." The kitten's ears drooped but she nodded in understanding. "Okay, Clover understands," her tail hung limply, having stopped its excited swishing. "Let's find another room that would suit you better," there were no bedrooms on the first floor, but there was an office, a playroom, a large living room, a dining room, and a kitchen.

On the second floor were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as what was more than likely a playroom. The third floor was the attic and in the basement there was also a large window, it had been renovated to be an entertainment space but hadn't been finished yet. "Clover likes the house," she decided. "Clover can't wait to move here."

Erika and Khryia dutifully gathered everything they needed for the brew, peppermint and lavender. Khryia was more useful than her at this, using her dragon's snout to find the materials, almost an armful of peppermint and a stalk of lavender. "Will this be enough?" Erika turned around to face Khryia, the dragon shrugged. "Clover never gave an amount, but I sure hope so! I want everyone to be happy!" She bounded forward, tail slapping the ground with each step, clearly in a bit of a rush. "How did it go with Cookie?" Erika asked her as she tried to dash to keep up with her dragon familiar. "It was okay." The dragon said with a half smile. "I told him that all us familiars love Clover! There's something about her that's almost irresistible. Fiyero the Stupid feels it too, but I hate him and he sucks."

It wasn't the fact that she was an anima, since Maple was too and she didn't have the same sort of effect on the familiars. What could it be? Well, Erika knew that better than anyone. It was the uncontrollable cuteness embodiment that Clover was, just begging to be pet and protected and spoiled all her life. The shadow mage and the dragon returned to the farm, the water was already there and they watched Clover finish the brew to cup for Mallier to drink. Once her stomach settled she sat down again, Khryia holding Clover. They toured the place and Erika got a good view of it all. The room Clover wanted she probably wouldn't be able to get to. "What if I do this?" Erika summoned a tentacle and then she planted it on the ground, another one too. This way there would be something to transport people up and down the stairs.

"When can we move here?" Erika asked Mallier, who shrugged. "Your discharge is soon, isn't it? A few days after that to give you time to pack your things and say your farewells, and then I can arrange a drive." It wouldn't be long now, within the week they'd be here, wouldn't they? "We'll have to get lots of toys and fun things to do here." Erika told Clover, already thinking of kitty scratching posts and a ball and other little things she could play with to exercise and get strength back into her body. Erika's hearing was improving each day, and she hoped Clover was improving a bit too.

Clover was a bit disappointed both in the fact that they couldn't move in earlier and the fact that she wouldn't be able to have the bedroom on the attic floor, but the kitten would make do. She was just going to have to move into the master bedroom with Erika, which she was fine with, she had just wanted to have the attic too. "The problem is," Mallier explained as Erika set her tentacles on the ground, "the attic is only accessible from a ladder, so to carry Clover up and down everyday, plus her wheelchair, is a problem. It's much easier to install a lift on the banister and then have a separate chair for the upstairs." As of right now, Clover could only propel herself a few feet without gasping and feeling as though her limbs were on fire, but soon, she would hopefully be able to go around without a problem. She was improving day by day, slowly, but surely.

"Clover can't wait to move in," her tail had picked up speed again. It was clear that she was tired of the Spiderweb, the kitten belonged in the outdoors, where she was free to run around and sniff the planets and play in the grass and chase the animals. Instead, she was confined to a house that she couldn't leave without anyone frantically looking for her. Just yesterday, when Clover wasn't in her room because Fiyero had taken the handles to her chair, Maple and Sera had gone around looking for her, close to calling the others to pull off a search, but Clover was simply being fitted by Eamon for a new design of his. She would never be a hero again, but Eamon wanted to surprise Clover and Erika with their original Blue Lotus and Tiger Lily suits.

They loaded up into the car to head back home, Clover already tired from a full day of activity. She lay her head on Erika's lap as they drove across the bridge, most cars heading in the opposite direction to explore possible options in order to recolonize what was left. Mallier was going to go ahead and design the house and fix it up so that in a few days time, they could move in and call it their home. "Clover will miss Eamon and Mallier," she would miss Cookie, Julian, and Theodore too, but Clover felt awkward saying it considering Cookie had just confessed his feelings. Perhaps, a part of Clover had known the entire time, but she also knew it was cruel to give him any sort of hope or accidentally lead him on.

The next day passed by as a flash and the day after Erika was finally discharged, cleared to come home. She could actually hear a tiny bit now, not just vibrations but actually sounds. Not well, and only with sufficient volume but still, she was able to hear again. Poor Clover would have to suffer a house with Erika playing her flute way too loud in order to hear it, even if it meant hurting the kitten's ears. After returning home to the Spiderweb they were given reward gifts from Eamon. "Here, try them on." He said with a big smile, throwing two costumes at them. "I know their time is over now, but I still missed those early days with the Tiger Lily and the Blue Lotus. Think of this as a memorial to them, okay?" Erika cried, hugging her brother close. He had always been there for her, but now they were separating and she wouldn't be able to rely on him anymore. She would have to stand up on her own two feet from now on.

After a few days of prep, the farm party was gathered. Fiyero of course whispered into Clover's ear as a farewell, "I was probably in love with you or something." He said with a wink as Mallier gave goodbye pats to everyone, especially her mother in law, Rosemary, who she had worked with extensively. "It's not forever, right?" Julian asked, as soon he would be leaving in order to begin traveling the world with Cookie and seeing all that it had to offer. "I'll send souvenirs back to you guys! I'll be Julia, world traveler, just you wait!" Theodore to everyone's surprise, had decided to stay in Ancient London. "I think it'll be good to help the city become a place where people can flock to and live in again." He trusted that Julian would be able to stay safe, off in the world alone as he would be.

"Don't worry." Mallier said once Erika, Clover, Khryia, Seraphina, Alistair in his wheelchair as he could only walk for a few steps a day, Rosemary, and Maple got into the car, Sera at the wheel of course, driving with one hand. "Even once we're apart, we'll all still be a family." And so the car headed off, a few hours trip before they reached the farmhouse. Everyone had gotten a chance to see it now. "I call the attic!" Khryia declared with a sudden yell. "That's my room and no one can take it from me!" Once there Sera and Khryia would be hard at work using all their mana to make furniture for everyone. It was a hard task but someone had to do it!
