Rose scowled, clearly not happy about the captain's decision, but she silently obeyed, moving back to her assigned position, while unhappy she did fully trust the captain, knowing he had something more than just the mission going through his head if he suddenly changed his mind so quickly, no doubt related to what James had said, "it's been a week... surely a few being this close together after that long isn't so off... especially with an abnormal around" she thought, though neither her nor Levi had even the slightest inkling of what was now going on within the supposed safety of Wall Rose.

Lilith smiled at Jame's attempt to comfort her. " It's alright, I can tell I'm not really wanted here at all." As James started to lead her away, she was very surprised that Levi told them to stay. It had been well within her expectations for her to be dismissed or possibly abandoned. With her remaining arm, she guided Illya between Levi and Rose. Suddenly a black flare appeared in the distance, followed by others. She struggled to remember what it meant, but knew it was likely a very bad occurance given Levi's sudden shift in body language.
" One of the other squads must have spotted or engaged an abnormal again. This is definitely not normal." As he spoke, the ground started quaking as several titans began chasing Levi's squad.
" Tch, again. We can't fight all of them now."
"Well, if only we could chop those trees maybe we can slow 'em down until we can get to the cache and then move in for a counter attack." James suggested trying his hardest not to sound like he was itching to fight them and letting the others head for the cache, leaving him space and privacy to change and engage the Titans on their level.
Levi looked toward the walls as well, seeing what Black Rose pointed out, as well as the group of titans the flares were warning about, the flares were indeed meant to warn them, a group of titans was now rushing directly toward them, 6 in all, one of them appeared to be a weak 3 meter, two more roughly 6 meters, two of them were between 7 and 8 meters, and one 11 meter, and what's worse, judging by the way they were running, two of them, the 7-8 meter titans, were Abnormals, and perhaps worse still, the titans were between them and the wall, the only way to escape the group would be to go toward them, which with Abnormals wasn't going to be an option.
Even as fierce as she was when she had the opportunity to kill a titan, Rose had never before seen a group this size or battled more than a single Abnormal at once, something like this was beyond out of the ordinary, titans often went after the same prey but these were grouped to closely together in such an open space, and all making almost a perfect beeline for them despite the fact that the titans, at the very least the smaller ones, shouldn't be able to see them from so far away just yet.
"We're heading back, now! James, you're with me on point, we're going to keep those titans busy, take them out quick and keep them distracted, Rose, you're with Lilith-" Levi said before Rose cut him off, "But captain! I'm better in combat than he is i should-" she started to protest, only for the captain to cut her off in turn, "Exactly, with two abnormals there's a good chance at least one of those titans will go for you and Lilith while we're dealing with them, we can't leave her unattended in her condition and its too risky for all three of us to fight, we can't waste time, you two make for the gate as quickly as possible and do not engage if you can help it, go." he ordered, and while unhappy with the decision, and making it clear as well, "tch... yes sir..." Rose answered, turning toward Lilith.
There were multiple potential plans of attack for dealing with this group, the Abnormals were a danger but with Levi there chances are they wouldn't survive very long, on the other hand splitting the group of titans up may work best, but that would only work if they could be lured off toward the thicket of large trees a bit to the west, and it posed the risk of James and Levi being separated in the battle.
He had to focus. He rode on his horse and he then began to engage the Titans. Starting off at one of the a normals as he used his 3D Manuever gear to sail through the air and use both his blade and his katana, he sliced one at the back of its neck as he sped towards the 3 meter to distract it for Levi to finish off, then both men would begin combatting the 11 meter.
"Levi! I hope you got a plan! I'm the only guy trying to make friends with the Police Girl, would be a shame if I didn't live to cement the friendship!" James shouted.
Luckily for Rose and Lilith, even the abnormals were occupied and didn't chase after the pair, after a few long minutes it seemed they might be in the clear for the time being, until Rose spotted in the distance directly in front of their path, yet another titan, this one seeming to be ambling on its way toward the wall, "What the hell is going? why are there so many titans.... even near the wall there shouldn't be this many on the east side" Rose muttered, drawing her blades as they neared the beast. She wasted no time launching herself at it, a look of hate filling her eyes, but right away it seemed things were wrong. It seemed this one was quite pain sensitive, the moment Rose's hook was in and she began to swing around, it swiped the painful item off of itself, as it faced Rose, "s-shit" she cursed as she hurriedly launched the other, swinging low and skidding along the ground as she sliced through the back of its left heel, right through the tendon, forcing it to one knee, and just as she went to finish the job the creature threw its head back, hard. caught off guard Rose was hurled through the air and landed with a heavy thud, crying out in pain as she clutched her side, feeling the pain of at least one broken rib, there was some time before the titan's leg healed enough to move but not very much, leaving Rose who was struggling to get up in a bad situation, especially when the impact had clearly damaged her gear, leaving that side of her grapple unusable.
Lilith watched two of the argubaly best killers in humanity get swatted side like flies and gave a sad smile; at least she got to see outside the walls before she died.
