Hui-gyeong

I'm living proof that being lucky is better than being smart

0 · 794 views · located in fantasy

a character in “Avalon's fall”, as played by rpannier

Description

Hui-gyeong is a 16 year old girl about 5'2" tall and just shy of a hundred pounds; she can easily be mistaken for someone a tad younger than she is. She is cute. Her skin is an almond color. Her eyes are brown, her mouth, ears and nose are small, but proportional and suitable to her size. She has long, straight black hair that hangs almost to her knees. She usually wears her hair in a pony tail or in twin tails (she carries pieces of twine to tie her hair with). Hui-gyeong is also thin.
Seeing her up close, she often looks tired/exhausted.
She comes from the lowest end of the society. She dresses in a dark tunic that covers half-way to her knees, though it appears a little small on her. It is old and somewhat worn. She wears high soft boots that come up to her knees, and like her tunic they are old looking as well. She travels mostly on foot, so it's not uncommon for her to look dirty and bedraggled.

(Will post an avatar when I find a good one)

Personality

Hui-gyeong is, to say the least, rather manic. By nature, she is a pleasant girl, who likes to have fun and enjoys seeing new things. She is inquisitive. By nurture, she is wary of others, this is due to her childhood. Hui-gyeong is self-absorbed in how she sees the world; she feels her misery is probably worse than most, she is self-conscious over whether she has offended others, she is cautious.
She is a survivor and is constantly in 'Survival Mode.' This causes her to be stressed a lot and contributes to her looking tired and sounding whiny.
When she meets someone for the first time she is often guarded, keeps a safe distance from the new person and her eyes constantly dart around the area making sure that everything is safe. She will be overly polite, figuring that by doing so she is less likely to raise suspicion or cause an issue with the other person.
Once she is comfortable in an environment, she is much more fun to be around and likes to try new things with the group and to learn more about each person; sometimes to the point of being annoyingly nosy.
While she is highly protective if her things, she is touchy when it comes to someone else's items. When she sees something she doesn't understand or she sees something new that interests her, her first response is to scout it and once she's decided it's safe, she touches and holds it to get a better appreciation of the item. This has lead to a misunderstanding or two with local merchants, who figure the girl has more sinister plans for the object.
When confronted by a dangerous or overwhelming situation, her response is to flee until the threat has gone.
She comes from an area where girls were not respected or wanted. A product of her upbringing, she believes she is 'a stupid girl' of no particular worth. In addition to her low self-esteem, she is somewhat self-pitying.

Equipment

She wears a dark tunic; the color could either be a fading black, dark blue or olive green. It's so old, it's hard to tell to anyone looking. Around her waist is a belt that hangs a pouch that she keeps the few coins she carries and a dagger. Around her neck she wears a bone white flat pendant with a lt blue stone in the middle attached to a string that she uses a necklace. The pendant is a gift from an old man she met on her travels. The pendant and stone, while interesting looking, are of little value to a fence.
She carries a pack on her back that she keeps an old blanket, another old, dark tunic, a bowl, a small cloth with a few valuable rocks wrapped in it and a pair of sticks that she eats with. The sticks are the only thing she owns of fine quality, made of crafted bone. (She never touches her food and she needs the sticks to be constantly clean even if she isn't).
In a small bag she has a few herbs that she uses for seasoning food.

History

Born into a very poor family in the remote northeastern province of Moondeok, Hui-gyeong had a very hard life as a girl; her life was made more difficult in that the people of Moondeok consider girls to be a net minus. She had three brothers who died before their second birthday. Her father was a horrid man, who treated her badly and her mother was also fairly useless, never once coming to defense of the beatings her daughter took.
Most of Moondeok is either mountainous or farmland, it has a half dozen cities, with it's largest being Saergahl, a border community where almost all trade with the outside world takes place. In Saergahl, almost anything is a commodity and at the age of thirteen, Hui-gyeong found herself a commodity. Her mother gave birth to another son and her father wanted money to assure his survival, so he took Hui-gyeong to Saergahl to see what he could get for her. He shopped her around to various men of ill-fame; slavers, brothel owners and others trying to see what he could fetch as a price for his oldest child.
He found a buyer, a well-dressed, older man missing an eye. He took an odd interest in Hui-gyeong; he seemed more interested in her "potential" than in her. He offered ten times the highest offer and the deal was done.
The man had her placed in a special cage on the back of a cart, with orders to never be allowed out of the cart for any reason until they got to the coast. While every other purchase was forced to walk the distance, she was the only one who rode. Along the trip Hui-gyeong got sick and the men let her out to clean the wagon and allow her to heal. As they waited a mist formed, eventually turning into a fog. The diversion allowed her to escape.
She ultimately sought refuge with an old man who also found her "interesting" and "of great potential." He fed her, cared for her when she was sick, gave her clothes and a bed of her own. He spent much of their time together just talking to her, teaching her how to recognize good plants from bad, how to heal her wounds, how to cook, etc. He also taught her to be wary of others, for evil is everywhere.
She lived there until she was half-way to fifteen and then he gave her a backpack, a knife, some clothes, a blanket and other items and told her it was time for her to move on and meet her destiny. Before she left, he gave her the pendant that she threaded into a cheap string necklace she wore around her neck and she was off.
A few times she was pursued by slavers (and others). She would often find some old hovel, a tree, a cave or ditch to hide in. Each escape was met with the mist forming, eventually becoming a thick fog that prevented the men from pursuing her any further. On one occasion a trio of slavers nearly caught her. She slipped in an open field as they closed in. Suddenly a wind appeared almost out of nowhere and picked up every stalk, every leaf, grain of sand and light rock and assaulted the men forcing them into retreat, half-blinding two of the men.
She was traveling through the mountains of Lanaton when the creatures struck Avalon. She is on a muddy road in Avalon.

Hui-gyeong is an elemental magic-user, her element is air (though she possesses a little water ability). Her magic right now is limited to the above mentioned and it's not particularly powerful (compared to accomplished wizards), but it is effective. Her magic is channeled through her emotions and affects her physically when she uses them:
The fog/mist is a protective spell and has no malicious intent to it, so after the event is over she is often left dazed and confused or giddy and silly.
The wind is an attack spell and comes from her deepest, darkest emotions. Her hatred for her father, her mother, the community, the slavers, anyone who has ever mistreated her is where this spell originates in her psyche. It is a negative magic that is destructive and it makes her light headed, confused and very sick; depending on the level of energy she expends it can incapacitate her for more than a couple of days.
In rare instances, the wind will surface to protect her, but will not cause damage to anyone or anything. While it is not a malicious, it's effects certainly are, because she still loses much of her energy and her headache is just as intense as if she were attacking someone or something.
She does not realize that she is the source of the magic and that she can cast it. Being fairly superstitious, she believes that she has a 'Messenger' that is protecting her and when he is forced to save her, punishes her with confusion or illness to remind her to be smarter.

So begins...

"Wow I have a good shot, perhaps that could come in advantage later."
He was impatient with waiting so he got up and walked away. As of now the battle at the gate was getting smaller for a while it looked like they were actually winning? Haha no that was short lasted as more and more popped up which caused more and more soldiers to decrease. Eventually, he decided to be brave but he thought of this as a dumb move as he was the only one to charge and was almost completely out numbered. He looked back and some of the soldiers were laughing, and then they questioned if he was even part of their army.

As he was trapped he thought of a plan to escape. He saw an opening, in fact he wondered how he didn't noticed before. So he ran, his face to the demons and running towards the gate. Although he forgot about those at the gate. He ran and then he felt a contact.
"I'm so sorry!" He turned to look at who he was. Though it wasn't a he it was a she.

(I kind of rushed through this one sorry D:)

Hui-gyeong

With the demon dead, Hui-gyeong's magic begins to dissipate and her 'sickness' returns; she is beginning to feel tired and disoriented. Her plan to escape under the cover of battle is thwarted by the fact she is, unwittingly, staggering toward the battle. Her head throbs, her stomach aches, her ears ring, her skin crawls as she staggers like a drunk after the taverns have closed toward the castle gate. The demon is under siege and it's only a matter of time before he's finished, when two more demons appear from the sky to take the place of their comrade as the hideous creature falls, meeting his deserved fate.

"Where do these accursed things come from?!" a soldier screamed in frustration, "They're everywhere!"
"Stand your ground!" shouted a larger man, weidling an immense two-handed sword. As a young man rushes past the man yells, "Stop that deserter!" But there is no one freed up to worry about the flight of a young man who would probably provide no aid anyway.

As Hui-gyeong staggers closer, the young man rams right into her, knocking the disoriented girl to the ground. "I'm so sorry!" the man calls out as Hui-gyeong falls backward hard, striking the ground back first and then hitting her head.
Hui-gyeong reaches around and places her hand behind the back of her head checking for bleeding, but feeling nothing that would suggest she is bleeding. Her vision is blurry, but not enough to make out that he is a tall, young man (at least tall compared to the tiny girl who barely stands above 5 feet tall. He has dark hair and piercing blue eyes that momentarily hypnotize her with their beauty.
Her intrigue is broken by a quickly approaching shadow on the ground and a creature approaching both of them, "Look out!" she screeches as the demon raises a sword to kill the young man as the Demons have so many soldiers. As she screams, a quickly forming whirlwind develops, surrounding and enveloping the sword weilding creature, lifting pebbles, grains and pieces of plants distracting and confusing the creature. The demons downward swing misses the boy and plants the sword into the ground just millimeters from Hui-gyeong's leg.

Suprised by the close call he pushes his body up and grabbing his sword. The Demon pulling the planted sword in the ground. Gazing upon the beast spot peering for weak spots on the beast's body. The easiest part to stab were the eyes, but before he could think the demon swung again only giving him a couple seconds to jump out of the way.
He quickly got up and observed again noticing a open wound on it's right hand. Pulling his sword hoping for it to work, he charges for the attack on the open wound causing the beast to react when the sword came into the open wound. (The sword was in the ground again)

The beast cried out a long and ripping screech and grinded it's yellow like teeth. Naddel's eye widened preparing the final blow, knowing he made it angry, backing up preparing for the attack, though the creature stopped and stared at Naddel, he replied back with an angry face. Readying his sword he prepares to attack making a quick plan to go for the eyes. He looks at everyone else for help.

Hui-gyeong

Hui-gyeong scoots herself back when the beast turns his attention toward the boy. As he does, Hui-gyeong moves further back to remove herself from the line of fire. She watches, terrified as the boy and creature do battle. While she would like to help, she isn't sure how; she's not a great fighter, she's not even a mediocre fighter and she doesn't yet realize that the magic created really comes from her. Her assumptions that she isn't smart enough to cast magic, combined with her superstitious beliefs in Gods, jinns and such have lead her to believe she is cursed or enchanted somehow.

She can tell the boy is outclassed by the demon. That if the fight continues without someone aiding him he'll be killed. Hui-gyeong searches around for someone to call to or something she might be able to use to distract the beast. The problem is everyone is preoccupied, there is no one to help. She claws around the ground hoping to find something she can use to throw at the thing, but there isn't a rock or anything that would distract, or better yet, injure the creature.

As she reaches around never taking her eyes off the thing she feels something and it's made of metal. She clutches at it and releases quickly once she realizes she was choking the blade of a dagger. She turns her head briefly to get a better a look. It looks fairly new, so it must have been lost in the fight. She grabs the handle of the dagger and pulls it into her chest. She stares at the two warriors, one a possible future threat to her, the other a definite one. She takes several deep breaths trying to get up the courage, finally she raises to her knees and lunges at the creature, driving the dagger into its leg.

The creature lets out an awful, deep, menacing wail as the dagger is driven into it. The creature takes its eyes off the boy and with a free hand swings angrily, striking Hui-gyeong across the shoulder blade, sending her rolling across the field a good 15 meters.

She finishes her rolling landing face first in the ground. She's not dead, but feels like she is. She hurts too much to move, though nothing feels truly broken. She lies unmoving, hoping that she provided the boy with some help. She hates to think the pain she is in is for naught.

Preping for his attack he pulled his sword back with two hands. He walks very close to the Demon lunging his body forward stabbing through the demon's leg, the demon's roar disarms Naddel and he let's go of the sword. The Demon grabs him, causing Naddel to go in a ragdoll like phase. He struggle to get out of the grip. He manages to slip his left arm and push his body out of the two scaly hands. He slips out, falling to the ground landing on his his ankle having some gravel slit cuts into his skin. He runs toward the demon's leg and pulls the sword out, the demon notices and swings it's arm at Naddel, he runs up it's arm and has his sword, guessing where the heart is he jumps out closes his eye. He hears a roar and feels a fall. He opens his eyes and notices that he's fallen out of the demon and he's on the gravel in pain. Then he notices the girl from before.

Hui-gyeong

Hui-gyeong rolls over onto her back and peers over at the boy and then over at the fight. It appears the warriors at the gate have finally secured the upper hand and the tide may finally be turning in their favor. For Hui-gyeong, this is a good thing, because she's in no condition to fight, protect herself or even run. The best she could do now is either crawl away, like a slug on the ground, or hope for a quick and painful death. There really is no other option. Her observation of the boy seems to suggest he's in no better shape than she is at the moment.
She takes inventory of her injuries trying to figure out just how bad she is really. While her body aches badly, she's sure she didn't break anything. But, the difficulty she has in moving her left arm suggests she may have torn or strained something. Every other pain she feels, she's pretty sure it comes from the hit and her flight and landing all courtesy of the demon she stabbed in the leg.

Hui makes a slight wave in the boys direction. She doesn't want to attract the attention of any demon by making large motions. She hopes that he'll notice her and signal back. This way she'll be completely sure that he's okay, maybe even alright and he'll know the same of her.

Questioning himself he looked back to where the demon was, it doesn't seem to be there he pushes himself upward and staggers with the pain's on his back. As he tries to move his left leg and a pinch of pain comes back, he pulls his leg back and limps toward the person on the ground, "I really doubt that we have much time before we're attacked, here let me support you into one o-" He feels something Gnawing on the back of his

Turning himself towards the gnaw, he notices a little imp trying it's hardest to defeat him, he can't help but to chuckle at the little thing, he pulls his ankle away from it but it's so stubborn it's holding as long as it can, Naddel tries to shake it off, the teeth sink it more, The depth of pain increases in Naddel's face, As he grab's the imp's head and tries to pull it away from his leg. He succeeds, though the teeth marks stay and blood is finally drying.

Hui-gyeong

Hui-gyeong rolls over onto her stomach as the boys unsteadily makes his way in her direction. She looks over and can see him struggling with something on his leg. Her view is slightly blocked and her eyesight is a bit blurry from the landing she took, but she is somewhat certain that he is holding a small demonic imp of some kind.
Hui-gyeong takes a couple of deep breaths, plants the palms of her hands on the ground, clinches her teeth and pushes as hard as she can. She's successful in getting to her feet, but it's not the most graceful attempt ever. She staggers left-right and backward, but she stays upright. It's fortunate for her she made it, she doubts she'd have enough energy to make that effort again.
"Sorry about that little distraction,Let me help you with getting to the building" The boy says grabbing her arm. Hui-gyeong decides the wisest idea is to follow the boy. He may be from the area and he may know a really good hideout. Besides, the effects of the day have overwhelmed her and she needs a place to rest, collect her thoughts and get away from these things.

He leads her into a building and sets her down on a bed. Hui-gyeong sits exhausted and in pain, staring straight ahead looking almost catatonic. She doesn't really hear anything, her head feels like someone has taken their hands and pressed tightly against the sides of her head, covering her ears and cutting off all sound.
While she sits there the boys voice slowly creeps into her head, "Well, before we got on to any other basics, let's start with our names, My Name is Naddel Harren, yours."

"Uhhhh... Yeah. My name..." she says confused and disoriented, "I'm, I'm Hui-gyeong. Heo Hui-gyeong." (ooc: Roman Pronunciation Huh Hee-gyung) she looks up at Naddel, "Thanks for helping me." she falls backward on the bed and lays for several seconds, "I hurt really bad. Are you okay? It looked like that thing hit you pretty hard too. What's going on here?"

"I'm surprised I can actually stand right now, nether-less help you over here, I actually have no idea what's going on here I came here Sometime ago looking for supplies for this village some distance away from here, and after that I came back wondered if there were any survivors, rung the church bell, then those soldier's came I thought they were bandits to feed off of the remains of Avalon, that was until I managed the rims to the bottom, ran down the road, I got injured one of the guards tended to me told me to help stand post, and well that's how I wended up here, sorry for being so descriptive as I see you are in a bit of pain"

Naddel searches around for something to help the healing -Naddel sniffs something from the stairs upstairs- "Here let me check the upstairs room as we don't want this to be unsafe as that would cost our lives." Naddel slowly walks up the stairs "Yuck, Corpses, poor folks probably didn't have a chance." Naddel scrambles through the furniture for something to help, old but still helpful piece of cloth lays down on the ground, Naddel grabs it and takes to her, I hope this is long enough, Naddel wraps it around two of the wounds and goes up for more and keeps coming back down to do the same but still glancing at the corpses.
"Just rest and I'll make sure nothing comes in."

Hui-gyeong lies on the bed exhausted, her whole body aching; the pain from the demon strike combined with the mental anguish from the release of magic has practically wiped her out. She thanks him as he wraps her wounds, it's not the best job in the history of medicine, but he never claimed to be a doctor and there isn't anyone else around -- and she is grateful for his help.
"Thank you." she says as he finishes.
Hui-gyeong remains on the bed, her arms over her head. She can feel the ill effects of the energy drain in her throbbing head. She would really like to help the man who helped save her, but his suggestion that she just lay where she is, while he looks around is probably a smart one. She's had these painful episodes before and, while so far there's been no dizzying or absurd behavior on her part it doesn't mean it won't happen.
Hui-gyeong can hear the sounds of battle raging from outside all around her.

Six hours pass by, Naddel had long been asleep, he looks up to find nothing had happened, he gets up and talks to Hui. "The fighting stopped, if you feel any better get up but you can rest there for a while if you wish." -Naddel opens the door to see a gruesome scene, that most of the soldiers were mangled, surviving soldiers were not the one's to give up their lives but still defended there. Surprised the same bite feeling came upon his ankle, Naddel picks up the same Imp from before and it struggles to attack him, the same chuckle comes upon him, he tries to get the imp away from struggling, so he puts a crate on the thing and hopes it would stay there, Naddel runs to the abandoned stalls from before to grab a bucket from the well and some fruit that hasn't wilted away, he goes to grab some water from the well and goes back to the house and finds Hui-

Hui-gyeong struggles to stay awake, alert for anything bad that may happen. As she lays there, the sounds of the battle dim, not because the battle is dying, but rather because she's so exhausted that the dyne of everything around them is beginning to mesh with her exhaustion to the point where she isn't able to focus. Finally, she drifts off into a dreamless sleep.

She's still out cold when Naddel gets up and exits the building. It's only when he returns that his movement stirs her, "Huh?' she says raising her back and resting on her elbows, , "Hi." she looks around the room, then the pain in her body reaches her brain and she falls backward, "God! I still hurt!" she whines. She rolls on her side looking at him, noticing that he's carrying something. "You've been out?" she says still blurry, tired and in pain. She lays listening for any sound, but it seems so eerily quiet, "So, is it over?" she asks hoping that it is and that the demons have lost, but expecting to hear that the soldiers were wiped out in the same way those people at the village were.

"I'm slightly hungry so I'll be right back" he can't help but to think about the remains of what happened throughout the night. He relaxes himself and thinks of what his parents were using him for them to gain power back in his old kingdom before he ran away, he thought how he had no good memories with them. Naddel walks over to Hui, "Hey, just being curious where are you from."

(After Hui tells where she is from)
Well I'm from the Ilaire Kingdom, I left my family as they tried to use me to gain power over the king, and by doing so they had to make me a knight to do some horrible things. Hui-gyeong hesitates for a few moments before deciding to answer his question about her origins. "I come from a village in the far western corners. It's a farming region. We grow rice. My family is pretty simple. The whole area is several weeks ride from here and several hundred years back in time." she laughs briefly. "For people who are from Avalon, my community would seem like a trip into the earliest part of our history."
Her throat is dry so she takes a quick sip of water, "Anyway, it's not a bad place to live, if you like doing the same thing day-after-day and you're a guy. In my area men and boys count for everything and girls and women less than cows. It's not uncommon for new born girls to die suddenly or just disappear. People may blame demons or dragons or whatever but everyone knows what really happens."
"Any how, I've told you enough depressing details about my village. Tell me more about you." she says staring with interest. Hui-gyeong is an inquisitive type and has great interest in learning about new places. His life and story has to be more interesting than hers.

***********************
"But, you're...you're like a noble. That's so odd." she says vexed as to why a boy would hide from all that splendor. She'd gladly trade her miseries for his, at least his comes with an estate, servants and food. She thinks about what she'd have done in his situation and begins to turn red at the thought, "I'm sorry," she says rising, "I get it now. If you tell the king you betray your family. If you don't, then you betray the king. Lose-Lose." she says nodding.

"So," she says giggling just a bit then rising, "When I talk to you should I address you as 'My Lord'?" she says bowing. "How about, 'My Leige'?" she says laughing again and bowing, "Or should I just call you..?" she stops briefly thinking, "What's your name again? I did tell you my name is Hui-gyeong, didn't I. I'm sorry if I forgot. The blow from that monster must have rattled me harder than I thought."

"I wonder if anyone actually is originally from here that is still alive, because it's really depressing seeing all the wasted lives." Naddel goes to look something that's proper to drink out of instead of a large bucket, but fails doing so, instead he grabs her a fruit that seemed good enough that it still tasted the same as it was harvested. Stretching briefly he then walks over Hui and gives her the fruit. "Although it may not be fresh it's still good to eat, we should also retest if you can move"

Hui-gyeong carefully listens to what he says. It's sort of depressing to hear about the numbers that have died and for a reason no one is sure. Where id the creatures come from? Why are they attacking?
She sits watching Naddel wandering around the building looking for something to drink from. She feels some sense of calm, some relief that he seems so willing to take charge, allowing her to recoup from the pain she's in. She hasn't run into a lot of nice people in her journeys, most people she's come across who have offered help usually do so for a price, and the price is often degrading. That part of her being she is unwilling to give up to someone for something as small as a place to stay for the night or a hot meal or a few copper coins.
His wandering seems almost endless and it is very thorough. He looks in open areas, behind boxes, he lifts crates and cloth off the ground and off of tables looking for something to drink from. After his exhaustive search she receives some fruit from Naddel, "Thank you." she says smiling. "It's very nice of you." The fruit is good; much better than most of what she's had over the past few weeks. Fresh fruit is hard to come by as the season is changing and becoming colder. The weather and the need for food is part of the reason why she has been moving southward from her home area. In her lands, food in the colder months is rather expensive unless you provide something in exchange; most farmers grow rice, some soy beans and others corn. They are able to trade for the food. Inn keepers will sometimes trade a room at the inn with hunters or merchants. But for young girls like her, there is little to offer except allowing some unkempt, filthy, troglodyte the opportunity to paw at her body for an hour or so for a few pieces of coin to purchase food. Though at her age, men will often throw in a free meal and the money in exchange for her entertaining them.
That is NOT something Hui-gyeong has ever done, nor will she ever agree to do.

After eating the fruit, Hui-gyeong slowly rises, she let's out a seething sound between her teeth as she does, reaching for her head. "My head!" she moans. Her whole body aches, but that won't prevent her from moving on if he chooses, the pain in her head leaves her dizzy and slightly blurs her vision. "I need a little while more." she says plopping back down on the bed. "If you can't stay and want to go I understand. No sense in risking both our lives. I do hope you stay." she says smiling. "I promise I'll be ready in an hour..." she pauses, "...two at the most."

"I'll wait here with you, never know what happens here since it was so dangerous last night, I doubt it will be any same during morning, so anything you want me to do while your hurt, except Don't ask me to cut an Apple, I cut my finger open that way."

After the task(s)
Naddel sighs and goes up the stairs to get a good glimpse at the the two people here checking how they died, their corpses were burnt at the hands but their are claw marks all over their faces. He shocked making a discovery a dead child hangs from the roof she seemed to be hanging but not by a rope, he assumed it was something inside the body, he was disgusted, he couldn't look at it anymore, he glanced at the room a little more, searching for something he didn't notice in the dark, he saw a ladder unstable but still good enough to climb, he looks up and notices something odd about the room, it was disturbing but taking his mind off of that he then looks and see's two beds. "The one downstairs was a double bed and there are two up here and only three bodies, to the side there was a small glass window that was broken and looked like someone jumped out know they were gonna die.

He lies on his bed thinking about all the soldier's and where they went, he looks out and there are some soldier's left tending to each other, but then he has a view, a view so spectacular to his blue eyes that he forgot about all that has happened, taking a piece of the shattered glass that was still on the window he looked at his reflection, then something hit him, the demon's weren't here during the day before at day, but they came at night. Thing after another peered to his mind, he realised that the demon's weren't the masterminds behind this, something worse, bigger was.
But, what?

Hui-gyeong shakes her head when he asks if she wants him to do anything. She can't really think of much, and even if she could she wouldn't impose. He got water, food and has played sentry to keep them safe. He's done his fair share of 'heavy lifting' and he's probably tired.
"No, I'll be fine." she says a small smile in her lips, "Thank you for everything. You're very nice. And very brave."
She lays back on the bed staring at the ceiling. As she does, she thinks about his apple comment, "How odd." she mutters. But decides who is she to worry about other people's oddities; she's kind of odd herself. "No." she thinks shaking her head, "I'm weird."
She lays nearly motionless wondering what has happened outside; Who won, or is winning? How many have died? and so on. Her contemplation has taken her entire attention. The time passes quickly.

Naddel rests himself to prepare for the hours ahead, his head lying on the old but soft pillow, drifting off onto a nap, thinking about of what could of happened that made the kingdom get attacked, and go to ruins, he relaxes his shoulders and rolls side to side, as he didn't realize this what he did think about, someone had to survive, He thought someone had to hide somewhere, but where. He wakes up suddenly feeling uncomfortable. He got up sneaking down not to wake Hui up.
He opened the door, noticing a man standing somewhere on the gravel, "Hey you, you don't seem to be a soldier what are you doing here!"
Thinking to himself 'Hell I'm not a even a soldier and I'm here. I hope I didn't scare him'
