{Personality}
Jing can be described as a loose cannon. He's ill tempered, headstrong, sarcastic, cocky, and is always the first to fight. Despite all that he isn't really a bad guy. He's pretty kind to others, and is naturally protective of them. He's very headstrong, and direct. If there's something he doesn't like, he's not one to dance around it. He is equally direct when fighting, preferring a head-on attack above all others.

He's very sarcastic, and usually has a smartass comment up his non-existent sleeves. He's pretty cocky as well. Thinking that he can handle anything. He is extremely loyal to those he cares about, and is easily willing to do anything for them without hesitation, or even questions. As a teacher, he isn't very patient or understanding. He demands absolute obedience, and all his orders to be followed. No matter what they are.

All these things are qualities of survivors.” }

{Place of Origin}
Ba Sing Se
{History}
Jing Kwan was born, and raised in Ba Sing Se. His family wasn't made of the strongest moral fiber. His father was a thief, as was his father before him, and so on. Not much is known about his mother, after he was born she left him, and his father behind, and never looked back, leaving behind the green scarf that Jing always wears. His father got in bad with a few unsavory individuals, and owed them a lot of money. They took it out of his hide right in front of Jing's eyes, and left him orphaned when he was just ten years old.
The next few years were rough on him. He had to resort to theft to survive. That and participating in some illegal underground Earthbending fights. Over time he became quite good, and ended up being one of the top fighters by the time he was thirteen years old. Despite all that, he was still scrapping by to survive. He was offered a big payday by a group of men who were impressed with his fighting abilities, and knew of this family history.
He took the job, and joined a small three man crew. They were planning on robbing the Royal Palace's Vault clean. They snuck into the Vault without a hitch. Once they grabbed everything not nailed down, they tried to escape. They were barely out of the door when the Royal Guard caught them. They were forced to fight their way out, even though they were outmanned, and outgunned.
Jing proved to be more then a match for the Guards, and with his help they were well on their way to freedom. That was, until the Dai Li showed up. He tried to fight them off, but he was overwhelmed by their speed, agility, and skill. They captured them with ease, and threw them down into the prison underneath the Palace. Jing was sure he was going to rot in that prison for the rest of his life. But he got a surprising visitor, the Earth King himself.
The Earth King wanted to see Jing himself, as Jing was by far the youngest of the robbers, with the others being in their late 20s. They had a long discussion about his history, and why he did what he did. Impressed with his abilities, The Earth King made him a offer. He would be released from his cell, and live in the Palace where he would serve him, or rot in his cell for life. He chose the former.
After being adopted by the Earth King, and settling into the Palace, Jing's Earthbending talents were further increased by his training with the Royal Guard, and a few lessons by the Dai Li. Eventually Jing was made the personal bodyguard of the Earth King's Daughter. And Jing was fairly happy in his new life. He was cared about, and was not alone.
Sometime later when he was seventeen, he discovered his ability to Lavabend, to be able to quickly phase-change Earth into molten Lava, and back again. He has spent years developing this ability, and has gained quite the mastery over it.

"Only you can bring balance into the world like the Avatars before you. Tonrar is getting stronger and stronger with each passing day, and only you have the power to defeat him..--" The pale yet, tan woman said as she stared down at the young Avatar who had begged for advice from one of her past lives. "But Avatar Asama, How? How can I stop him when he knows everything about me? My past, my weak points, everything. He knows them and... and I know nothing about him." Sumi said as she looked towards the past Avatar in desperation. Through her travels, she had found out that this man, the leader of the Tsumi Ribasu knew things about her that only doctors and friends would know. And, the truth was to the Avatar, he was a complete mystery.

"I know you are afraid, Avatar Natsumi. But, if you do not defeat him by the time of the new year, something-- Something unimaginable will be released, ending the world as you know it. As she spoke the finally words, the calm mountains behind the two of them faded and it all went black. She turned around to see the world around her only to look back and see Asama gone. "Wha-- No! No, come back. I have more questions! Please!" Natsumi stood up and looked around only to hear a chuckle behind her. The masked man stepped forward with his swords dragging against the concrete floor. The young girl stuck towards the masked man only to miss several times. She shook her head before running the opposite way, hearing Tonrar start sprinting as well but it all came to an end when the man grunted, jumped, and--

~~~~~~~~~
Natsumi sprang up from her slumber as she huffed in and out, trying to regain her breathing. She put on hand to her chest as she could feel her heart pounding. She cleared her throat before getting up and making her way towards the single window in her room of the Southern Air Temples. She looked out to see the sun rising as she sighed. With every passing day it became more and more surreal that this wasn't a dream and that this was her life now. She had all this pressure and all these lives she had to keep safe. Something she was never used to back home. She never had much responsibility and now... Now she felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders and sooner or later she was just going to collapse. She took her hair out of the bun and let it run down her face as she used her comb from home to brush it back up.
Right as she was about to go back to sleep, she heard a small but noticeable crash to the ground. Making her automatic, go into defense mode. She quietly made her way out of her room as she looked down the hall to hear not one other rooms stirring. She silently made her way to open courtyard like area only to see and hooded figure looking through their items. Natsumi, while young was far from naive about the Air Temples. The Air Acolytes left the temple when Natsumi was at least sixteen. Meaning, no one should know that this place would be occupied. The firebender took a step forward before kicking towards the man, letting the fire catch him off guard. She propelled herself towards him before having see the man run towards a thin, almost invisible rope. She cut him off, throwing more fireballs towards him as she let her anger take over. The man tried to fight back, but was obviously terrified. The hooded figure took off his hood to reveal a man, she had never seen before. "Stop! Please, I beg you."
"Why are you here?! Who sent you?! And how did you find us?!" She asked as she kept her arms up, ready to attack in case he made any wrong moves. "I'm so sorry." The tan man said through his sobs. "What are you talking about? Who are you with?" The man didn't answer as he continued crying, the furious Avatar kept her arms towards him as she looked him up and down, noticing the small, gold insignia on his jacket. Her eyes widened as she took a deep breath in. "Oh, no."
"The Tsumi." She looked at him before running off to warn the others. "Everyone get up! The Tsumi's coming!" She ran through the narrow hallways and through the other courtyards just in case someone decided to have an early morning training session. Natsumi made her way into her room, to grab the one thing she kept in her room which was the maps of where they planned on going. She didn't trust anyone with them for reasons like this, if the Tsumi were to get their hands on this, they would know the team's entire plan to stop them. She clutched the map tightly as she felt an explosion vibrate the ground under her. They were going to blow the temple out of the sky by blowing the mountain it lied on. The young girl heard footsteps coming from all parts of the temple, all making their ways to the courtyard to protect what they could of one of the last remaining Air Temples.
She rubbed her face as she ran back into the main courtyard to protect her sky bison, Nini, Team Avatar's only way of transportation. She watched the mysterious man used his airbending to fly himself away from the temple and on to a hot air balloon, not far from where they were. She groaned as she took a step make before breathing out about to strike. The young Avatar locked eyes with one of the captains. He mouthed something to hooded man next to him that Sumi couldn't make out. But, it became clear when canisters made their way towards the open area.
She gasped as she used her basic airbending to surround her and the rest of the team in a ball of air to protect them from the gases that were released. She let it down once the dust cleared for the most part and went back to trying to shoot down as many balloons as she could. She watched as others fell from the other benders, but after a moment of analyzing the swarm of hot air balloons she finally realized, "There's too many of them. We need to get out of here before they get on the ground." And by the looks of it, they didn't have much time before the members of the Tsumi were close enough to get off their balloons and attack.
"Alright, in....and out." Jing repeated to himself as he took deep, slow breaths as he stared down a small coin laying on a table. "Come on Jing, metal is still Earth. And Earth is your bitch." He muttered to himself. He widened his legs, and took a firm stance. He clenched his fists in a claw-like fashion, and placed his left hand over his right, with his left palm pointed outward, and his right facing himself. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath in. He opened his eyes, and slowly exhaled his breath. As he exhaled he thrust his hands forward.
He looked down at the coin, which didn't move an inch. "Damn! I can heat rocks to over a thousand degrees! Why can't I move a stupid coin!?" Jing shouted in anger. He was in a fairly secluded area on the side of the mountain the Air Temple sat on, a place where he could train, and make as much noise as he wants without the others getting into his business. Jing picked up the coin, and put it in his pocket. He looked down at the table, and huffed at it. He flicked his wrist, and a small pool of lava formed underneath it, instantly burning it to a crisp.
"Stupid metalbending..." Jing huffed to himself as he flicked his wrist again, this time getting rid of the lava. "How is it that I can do that, and not move a stupid coin?!" He groaned in annoyance. He just doesn't get it, he understands how metalbending works, and he knows there is Earth in metal, but when he tries to bend it, nothing. It's pretty annoying, especially for a guy who has already mastered an even rarer form of Earthbending. Jing stomped on the ground, and a slab of rock roughly shaped like a chair sprung up.
Jing sat down on it, and took out his coin. He rubbed his thumb on the coin as he stared at it. He started rubbing the edge of his green scarf, wondering why he can't get the hang of it. He's suppose to teach the avatar Earthbending, he feels that if he can't even learn this, then what chance does he have at teaching her? "Whatever." He growled as he shoved the coin back into his pocket. He got out of his makeshift chair as he heard Natsumi shouting about something. "Can't leave them alone for one minute." He groaned.
Jing then felt the shaking of a explosion. "Good, I need something to smash!" He smirked as he created a pillar underneath his feet to launch himself back up to the temple. Jing rushed to his room, and grabbed his things. It was just a backpack with a sleeping bag, rocks for him to bend, and some dried meat. He keeps it simple. He causally walked out of his room, and towards the courtyard where everyone else was gathering around the flying bison.
He was the last to show up, and wasn't in the air shield that was made to protect them from the capsules. Instead he made a small pyramid out of Earth to protect himself. Once everything was done exploding, he cracked his shield open in half. He levitated one of the half's, and took aim at the nearest balloon. He sent the slab of Earth flying towards the balloon, hitting it directly in the balloon part. A grin crept across his face as he cracked his knuckles, this was obviously his idea of fun.
Jing swept his right arm horizontal in front of himself to create a large pool of lava. A unsettling laugh started to crackle from Jing. He launched several lobs of lava at the balloons, shooting them all out of the sky. "Now we're having fun! Any of you Princesses gonna put up a fight?!" Jing chuckled as he continued to shoot them down.
He continued to lob globs of lava at the balloons. He heard Natsumi saying something about retreating, but he didn't pay much mind to her. "Come on! Kick off your dress, and high heels Princess, it's just getting fun!" Jing smirked. He stomped his feet, and made two pillars shot up from the ground diagonally on each side of him. He dug his fingers into them. The pillars started to crack with a orange-red light, and they started to produce heat. He threw the pillars at a couple of balloons, and they exploded on impact. All while leting out a maniacal laughter.
Breathe in... Hold it... Breathe out. Miyuki bit down on her lip to keep from crying out as she changed the bloodied bandages on her torso. Cleaning her collection of wounds was always a daunting task, but she was getting better at it and dealing with the pain that came with unwrapping and rewrapping. Miyuki let out a collective sigh of relief when it was over and leaned on her sleeping bag in the small room of the Air Temple she was residing in with Team Avatar. Someday's it was still hard to believe that Miyuki was traveling with the someone so important. Her missions with the Kyoshi Warriors had always been to protect esteemed members of the earth kingdom. Never had Miyuki dreamed that she would be traveling with the savior of the universe and soon to be master of all four elements. Other days it was all too apparent that the avatar was still a human girl despite her lineage and thus still had humanly burdens and worries.
Miyuki placed her first aid kit back in her bag and pulled her shirt back on. She hadn't unpacked any of her belongings and only kept the essentials like her sleeping bag and kunai belt out and even most days she would roll the sack up and place it in her bag in case they needed to be ready to move. So far though things were quiet and Natsumi had been able to train in peace. Miyuki wished she could contribute to the avatar's training but the only things she could do were fight and treat wounds and so she did her duties with diligence and without complaint.
The black and white haired female suddenly felt very tired, it was late already and she should have been asleep hours ago. Miyuki lay down and closed her eyes, curling up on her side as sleep crept up on her. It was a mercifully dreamless sleep, which was wonderful because normally Miyuki was plagued by nightmares and the deaths of her comrades but tonight the Kyoshi Warrior was able to relax in the darkness that enveloped her mind.
"Everyone wake up! The Tsumi's coming!" The sound sliced through the darkness like a knife, sending the memory of that night into her mind and making Miyuki sit up abruptly, terribly alert to the fact that they were under attack. She stuffed her sleeping sack into her bag and strapped her belt on, leaving her shoes behind as she ran out the door. When Miyuki stepped into the courtyard where Natsumi's sky bison was just waking up she saw that they were too late, they were surrounded by the enemy. Miyuki grabbed two kunai, prepared to fight but Natsumi protected them from the Tsumi's gas attack with a shield made of air. She grit her teeth, feeling useless among the benders but determined to protect what was important. "Where's Jing?" Miyuki inquired suddenly, noticing that the earth bender was not among those under the shield.
Natsumi let the air bubble down and declared that the numbers were overwhelming. Just then Jing made an appearance and knocked a balloon out of the sky with a giant rock. There were already some on the ground and Miyuki placed her bag on the sky bison's saddle before throwing one kunai into the back of a member of the Tsumi and jumping down to parry the attack of another. She grabbed her bloodied weapon out of the body and prepared for more, gritting her teeth and thinking of the Kyoshi Warriors the Tsumi Ribasu had killed.
"This is for my sisters."
It had been a long morning for Mozuyuki, he rubbed his eyes, he was hungover again. His head was throbbing as he braced himself on the wall, inching along it swaying slightly. The floor underneath his rocked and he smiled bitterly. Damn, I overdid it last night. . . Where's my training dummy? I want to train. . . Mozuyuki looked down the long hallway and noticed a man standing guard at his father's "private" room door.
"Hey, you. . . What're you doing?"Mozuyuki said with an agitated tone to his voice. In all honesty though he knew what this man was doing, Mozuyuki's father always had guards, everywhere. The man was about to stutter out a reply but Mozuyuki just patted the man's shoulder and kept shuffling down the hall. He wanted to make his way down to the training yard. Centering himself he took a deep breath and shook his head lightly as he began walking straighter and straighter.
Walking correctly again all he had was his headache, looking from left to right slowly as he walked into the roofed courtyard he saw his training dummy sitting in the middle of yard, beat to Hell, barely holding together. With a pained grin he sprinted towards it, jumping up and delivering a powerful turning-back-kick to the dummy with a loud battle cry. Snapping the dummy in half. Breathing heavily he looked down at the broken wooden dummy, it lay at his feet in splintered pieces. Mozuyuki needed a new one now.
He reached across himself and pulled out his mother's sword, laying it in front of him as he sat cross-legged in the courtyard, he closed his eyes slowly. Right as he was about to slip into his meditative trance one of the grunts of the Tsumi came running out of the eastern wing of the complex.
"Young Master! Quickly, our attempts to find the Avatar at the southern air temple was successful. Although, we're out-matched. They request immediate backup sir and your father. . . He is busy." The man in front of Mozuyuki looked distraught.
"Your brother was in that raid wasn't he Jun?"The man's face contorted into tears as he fell onto the ground.
Don't let the others see you like this, you know they'll murder you. . . Prepare my mount. I'm flying out to meet them."
The man scrambled to his feet, wiping his face, then he turned and ran off. Mozuyuki sighed and sheathed his mother's sword before jogging after the man. Adjusting his tie, Mozuyuki climbed onto his flying mount, he knew for a fact thanks to the nervous fellow, that the Southern Air Temple wasn't very far by air. It was too damn early in the morning for all of this, but it was for appearances, if his father had ordered this, it was to be done.
With a click of his tongue Mozuyuki was up and flying quickly towards the direction of the air temple. Knowing when he saw the balloons he was there. He readied himself to attack, in all honesty he had just wanted a peaceful day, but if the squadron was failing then his father would want him to assist.
After a bit she noticed his balloons igniting and screams of death coming from them as lava was lobbed at the balloons. Mozuyuki's eyes widened slightly but snapped out of his momentary shock, he knew the Avatar was talented. He would need the Avatar's help in killing his father. Bringing in his mount to land around back from the Avatar's group. He walked onto the platform they were all occupying, it seemed to him that earth-bending fellow was enjoying himself far too much. Then, he saw her. The Avatar. They had an air shield but that dropped and the second it did he climbed up onto her bison, shockingly it didn't attack him, it must have deemed him honest.
Reaching over he tapped the Avatar's shoulder and looked at her quizzically.
"Am I late to the party?" He asked sitting next to her as the earth-bender and the other woman was killing off Tsumi members in a large amount with kunai.
"May I add that we should all just retreat before more of these guys show up?" Mozuyuki said calmly as he reclined in the saddle of the Avatar's bison.
"I've always liked the look of these bison you know. It's lovely to meet one in person."
Mingxia squinted at the early morning sky and stretched magnificently, groaning in pleasure as she felt various joints pop. She had been up since dawn to watch the sunrise, which had been a ritual of hers for many years now, especially after leaving the army. She climbed to the highest point of the training yard in the dark, and here she could see every point in the compound, a rather satisfying accomplishment at first, which, after many days of climbing had turned into a sideshow of sorts.
The sun was bright in the low sky by now and the orange dust of sunrise had turned into the gleam of morning. Xia looked down and out across the compound to see it beginning to bustle with quiet life, just as it did every morning. Today easy especially busy, as there had been word of the Avatar in an Air Temple near by. That would explain the strange feeling that she felt in her gut. She felt like yawning. Last night had been a mere annoyance, after a full day of meetings all she had wanted to do was sleep, but a severe headache had prevented her from doing so. So she drank three glasses of whiskey, just enough to distract her from the ache, and had fallen asleep still dressed, on her bed. She had still woken up early, as that was how her body was tuned, and her headache was luckily gone, but Xia still felt tired.
She had meditated as the sun rose, opening up her Chakra paths as her mother had taught her to do many years before. She supposed that it was nearly time for her to go fulfill any duties she was given today and rose slowly to climb back down from her perch. The easiest way to get to Tonrar's office was through the training yard, so she slid down the roof and landed on the ground just outside, turning to enter just as she heard a cry and a thump. She peeked in and saw Mozuyuki staring at the broken remnants of a training dummy. She watched him take out a sword and sit to meditate and crept through the room quietly, so as to not interrupt him. As she reached the door she was nearly thrown off balance by a Tsumi member bursting through the door and calling for Tonrar's son. She turned to watch the scene unfold.
It seemed as though they had found the avatar, Xia didn't know how she felt about that, but she was content, she supposed, to at least tag along for the ride, maybe fight a bit. She backtracked to her rooftop spot, climbing quickly, and then took a running leap, shooting streams of fire around her boots like rockets to follow Mozuyuki. She checked to make sure she had everything she wanted, which she did of course, since the feeling her gut gave her when she woke up told her that she needed to be prepared. She watched as Mozuyuki flew off into the distance and followed close behind. Something was telling her that she shouldn't be going to this fight, so she stayed as calm as she could, which was very calm.
She reached the Temple and frowned, a natural expression on her face. Glaring down at the group encased in air bubbles and what seemed to be a pyramid of earth, she stayed close to the balloons, dodging shots of lava and fire, and carefully remaining neutral. She saw Mozuyuki stop next to the group and faintly heard his unusually animated voice.
Am I late to the party?"
He reclined hear those she could see in the bubble, the Avatar being one of them. Goodness, Natsumi had grown in both spirit and body.
"May I add that we should all just retreat before more of these guys show up? I've always liked the look of these bison you know. It's lovely to meet one in person."
Xia raised an eyebrow, interested in the boy's actions, she figured she should send a message to Tonrar and whistled sharply, a messenger hawk flew to her hovering side and she took a coin out of her pocket. It was a Southern Air Temple coin, she had several from each nation, and tied it to the hawk's leg. He would know what she meant, if he didn't know already that is.
"To Tonrar," she commanded, and the hawk flew off nearly instantly. She tensed as lava hit the balloon in front of her, sending it falling far to the ground below and exposing her to the small group trying to make its escape.
She held her head high and looked down at the group, slowly beginning to descend towards them, on guard, and ready to attack if need be.
"It's good to see you all, isn't it now?" she glared, per usual.
