Introduction
Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony.
Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
Only the Avatar, master of all four elements could stop him.
But when the world needed him most, he vanished.
History speaks fondly of the merciful Avatar Aang, who was able to bring about the end to the war on the day of Sozin's Comet, sparing Fire Lord Ozai's life while still being able to stop him and save countless lives. Soon afterwards, he and the newly crowned Fire Lord Zuko, brought the four nations together into what is now today called the Republic City, in which technological advances have gone far beyond their years. A newly formed republic governs, two from each of the four different nationalities equally representing their people's point-of-view. However, with all the world's prosperity and achievement, comes enemies more intelligent and threatening then the ones before; the Equalists. People against benders and the bending arts, believing that all the world's problems have come from powerful benders, whose power could be easily used to harm others.
When the Equalists overcame the city, all known benders were immediately imprisoned and were made to go through blocking treatments everyday, which slowly took their ability to bend away. Once powerless, former benders were put into specialized asylums, where they'd stay under scrutiny for the rest of their lives. Some of those who managed to escape Equalist capture, prepare themselves for in inevitable war, while trying to keep their numbers up, as small as they might be already.
Waterbending
One of the four elemental bending arts known, the ability to control water as well as its many forms. The people of the Water Tribe are the ones who exhibit this ability mostly, themselves severed into two sister tribes on the North and South pole, and the lesser known Foggy Swamp Tribe.Water is the element of change. The moon is the source of power in Waterbending, and the original Waterbenders learned from the moon by observing how the moon pushed and pulled the tides. The Water Tribes are the only people to not learn Bending from an animal. The fighting style of Waterbending is mostly flowing and graceful, acting in concert with the environment. Foggy Swamp Style Waterbending, however, is more rigid and straight - likely in concert with the often stagnant nature of swamp water. Waterbenders deal with the flow of energy; they let their defense become their offense, turning their opponents' own forces against them.
Firebending
The ability to create and control fire. This talent is mastered by the people of the Fire Nation, as well as the lesser known Sun Warriors.Fire is the element of power, consisting of overpowering force tempered by the unflinching will to accomplish tasks and desires. However, the recently militaristic Fire Nation twisted this into Firebending being fueled by rage, hate, and anger. Firebending draws its power from the sun, and the first human Firebenders derived their Firebending techniques from the dragons. Firebending is notable for its intensive attacking style and general lack of adequate defense moves.
Earthbending
The ability to manipulate earth and rock and all its various forms, a skill used by the people of the Earth Kingdom. Earth is the element of substance, making Earthbenders and their people diverse, strong, persistent, and enduring. The first Earthbenders, Oma and Shu, learned the art from Badgermoles. The key to Earthbending is utilizing neutral jing, which involves waiting and listening for the right moment to strike and, when that moment comes, acting decisively. In other words, Earthbenders generally endure their enemies' attacks until the right opportunity to counterattack reveals itself, then strike with unyielding force.
Airbending
The ability to control and manipulate currents of air, this elemental art is taught to the peaceful Air Nomads of the Eastern and Western Air Temples. Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly problems and concerns, and finding peace and freedom was the key to solve their flaws in life. Airbenders continually sought for spiritual enlightenment, and, as a result, all children born into the Air Nomads were benders. The first Airbenders learned their art from the sky bison. The key to Airbending is flexibility and finding and following the path of least resistance. Airbending is notable for being almost entirely defensive, as well as the most dynamic of the four Bending Arts. Airbenders can overwhelm many opponents at once with large and powerful attacks that could prove fatal; however, due to the pacifist nature of the Air Nomads, such attacks are rarely used.

The sun shone brightly as they walked along the beaten path, towards the first town they had been to in months. Onya's ears where perked for any sing of danger as usual. She watched the forest around her, any dangerous movement and she would burn the whole place to the ground.
Mya walked a few yards in front of Onya, singing happily. It made Onya a bit uncomfortable that she was so far ahead of her where it would be harder to protect her.
"Stop worrying Ony-Chan....i can feel it from here" Mya called back to her then continued her song. Onya shook her head.
"Sing,
sing a song,
make it happy,
sing along--" Mya sang but suddenly her lovely voice cut off. Onya tensed.
"Mya...?" Onya called posed in a defensive crouch.
"Mya this isnt funny! show yourself! now--" she was cut off by an Air Swipe coming her way. She threw up a wall of fire, then ducked knowing next would come the air bullets. She twisted sideways and slid behind a tree, her normally serious face graced with a beautiful curve of her lips.
"Mmmm so predictable Mya" she said with a laugh. There was a rustle to her left and Onya dived to the ground as rocks flew her way from Mya's Air Funnel.
"okay, not as predictable as i thought." she said with a laugh. She was relaxed for the first time in days.
Mya threw a few air kicks and punches at her and Onya easily dodged, throwing up a fire wall yet again. Onya never used attacks on her young friend, only defensive, just as Mya never used any defensive. Both where improving their weak points. Finally getting frustrated at Onya's laughing Mya threw a Multiple Target Attack at her, basically a huge wave of air hit her full force. It knocked her back into a tree.
Onya slumped down against the tree her eyes closed. She heard a gasp and her 'sisters' footsteps.
"Oh no Ony-san are you okay?! im so sorry!" Mya said as she leaned over her friend. Onya swiped her foot under her friends leg taking her down hard, then pinned her.
"Never let your guard down" Onya said. Mya smiled.
"okay you win, as usual" Mya laughed her big blue eyes bright with laughter.
"don't forget it" Onya said with a laugh as she stood then helped her sister up.
"Look what you did ony-san...you got me all dirty! i cant go to town looking like this!" Mya pouted as she brushed her clothes off and pulled her blond hair out of her face.
"Oh boo hoo, you started this...we can find a river so you can clean up before we got to town." Onya said with a grin as she through a arm around her sister shoulders and continued walking.

Takahiro Nakamura
"We got one! We have a water bender here!"
The shouts came in from almost every direction Takahiro slipped into a back alley, panting heavily. His current goal? To get out of this city alive, and on one of those airships even if he had to steal it. The only problem? He was currently alone in this venture, and quite far away from any form of transportation, not to mention the entire city was filled with people who disliked, even hated, any form of benders, and today wasn't his day. He would hold here for a few more minutes until...
"There he is! Get him!"
Takahiro looked over towards the entrance of the alley way, seeing a couple of Equalists stepping into the alley brandishing weaponry. He drew in a deep breath, and reached to pull out his scimitar when the first man began sprinting towards him. He was out numbered, and he knew more would be here soon if he didn't act quickly, which is exactly what he did.
Rather than pulling his Scimitar, he moved his hands in a quick motion, flowing them over each other, his attacker halted as the puddle of water he had ran through turned into around the bottom portion of his shoe. "Well, that worked. Toodles." Takahiro smirked light-heartedly as this opponent blocked the second one that was attempting to make his way past. Using this to his advantage, Takahiro spun on his heels and began sprinting towards the opposite end of the alley way, disappearing around the corner after knocking over a trash can.
People literally stopped what they were doing as Takahiro tore around the corner into a busy street, sprinting across traffic until he came to another side-walk, accidentally shoving someone out of the way as he continued forwards. It was a few more seconds later that another two people tore around the same corner, chasing after him. "This is NOT fair." Takahiro shouted, reaching his hand out and grabbing a nearby post, using it as leverage to swing around the upcoming corner, which he did, although not the most success as he lost his footing and stumbled forwards, and fell flat on his face. Attempting to push himself back to his feet, a heavy boot caught the side of his ribs, which caused him to roll out into the street with a heavy thud.
The air was knocked out of his as he gasped quickly for it. His vision briefly turning black as, what he assumed was the same boot, blocked out the sun. Takahiro had mere seconds to react, and he did by rolling out of the way as the boot came down. Now on his stomach, he pushed himself up and staggered into a sprint, almost falling a second time.
Right now, the only thing that mattered was getting away from these two pursuers, alive.

Jenny panted hard as she leaned against the wall of an alley. She could hear the shouts everywhere. She wanted to scream out in frustration. Why couldn't she fire dance out in the open like she used to? Why did she have to go to the black market bar just to firebend? She slumped against the wall, tears starting to run down her face. She held in the sobs that could give her away. They were tears of both sadness and anger. She hated the Equalists and she wanted the benders to go free. But it would probably never happen in her mind.
Jenny then heard a shout directly to her right and swiftly got up, turning to see the person who made the shout. She saw a young boy and another tear reached her eye. "Someone so young can hold this kind of hate?" She quickly ran the other way, leaving the boy with a confused face. She now hated how the Equalists were going for the younger generations just to get rid of the benders and was sad that kids would never be able to stop the madness. She ran out of the alley and took a sharp right, stopping whenever she saw a boy running from a few Equalists. Her eyes lit up with hope as she increased her speed, running past the Equalists in a few seconds. She caught up to him quickly.
"So where are you headed? The docks?" She smirked and sent a blast of fire backwards to stall the Equalists. "I know sure as hell you're not playing tag with those freaks. Plus, you're not gonna get anywhere with that kind of speed." She fell back to get behind him and picked him up, running even faster now. The houses were going by at a slight blur as she reached her top speed.
She sharply turned to a dock and reached a boat that was black with rose colored swirls and had a small silver plate on the side that said 'Jenny'. She jumped in and placed the boy on the ground, quickly going into the control area and turning on the engine. She pulled out of the dock and they were soon zooming down the river at hight speeds.
She sighed and slowed the boat a bit to not use up too much gas. She slumped to the ground panting, all of her adrenaline drained from her and leaving her weak. She turned to the boy, who was still where she had dropped him. "Sorry about just bringing you along like that. Adrenaline makes me do crazy things. All I had in my mind at the moment was getting out of this place and perhaps bringing along someone." She coughed a bit. "But that was quite a rush, don't you think?" She gave a small smile.

The Equalists finally noticed Gau standing were he was and they walked towards him. "You!" Gau looked at them in a mock surprise and looked down at them, they were rather short even to Gau. "Why did you not help us get those Benders! it is your duty as a member of the Republic!" Gau watched the man pull out what looked like a thin metal club. "I am not trained in combat..i am a simple farmer here to trade my goods..sir" "What is your name Citizen" the lead Equalist asked.
Gau started to get nervous just a tiny bit..not because he was a bender but because he was on the list of Benders who were being hunted. His face was not known but his name was, and telling them that name would link his face to the name and no longer allowing him to help the other Benders,as he had promised himself he would do. With a sigh Gau looked at the lead Equalist "my name is Seifu Zaraku..I farm a hundred miles outside of the city in the flat lands..past the mountains."The lead Equalist looked to his right and that man produced a long peice of parchment and looked down the list."That name isn't on my list..and boss..he is a Farmer..I have seen him in the market trading more then once" The man growled and put the club away. "Good day Citizen..i am sure we will meet again sometime." With that he watched the group walk away.
Gau smiled some and thought of messing with them for a moment but thought better of it..He had hoped those kids had found the note by now..it would give him time to get to the spot to meet them.
The Note
I will not tell you my name right now..but know I am one of you..I am a bender, I am leading a resistance against the Equalists and I am helping out any and all Benders I can find..there are others out there like me..helping to hide and fight the Equalists..If you are even slightly Interested meet me on the open plane entrance past the mountains in the next two days..your question will be, What can we not live without. my answer in return will be. The earth under our feet. On the other side of this note is a map that will lead you to the spot..I pray that you show up. i hope to see you in two days. The Resistance.
Gau took his time wandering out of the city so as to not make a scene, even buying a few things from the market to eat on the road. Once outside, Gau paid the stable boy for keeping his Ostrich horse taken care of and road off towards the meeting spot.

He remembered his last mission. The Equalists had been taken by surprise by now sharp the wind could be. Airbenders usually fought defensively, after all. Not him. He showed no mercy as he slaughtered the masked men for a simple sheet of paper. Information the Resistance would find useful. He frowned slightly, a little uncomfortable with the memory.
Before he could rebuke himself for being so soft, he saw a couple of girls ahead in the road. He smiled slightly at them. They were pretty, one black-haired and one blonde. Nonetheless, his hand didn't leave his sword as he approached them. Many pretty flowers had thorns and the Equalists didn't discriminate between genders. Only benders.
"Been rolling around in a little mud?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at the blonde one's mud-stained clothes.

"Been rolling around in a little mud?" a male voice called from ahead.
Mya, always relaxed, smiled.
"kinda...we had a wrestling match...she beat me..as usual" Mya laughed good naturedly
"Ya..." Onya said her voice a little less friendly, though she plastered on a smile.
"Have we met?" Mya asked as she stared at the man. He had a familiar air about him...
"Im Onya, this is Mya....who are you?" Onya said getting to the point. Onya was tense. She didnt know who he was or what his intentions but he didnt trust him...she didnt trust anyone but Mya.
"Please excuse her...we havent run into very many friendly people around here." Mya said her bright blue eyes wide with sincerity.
"Look im a Firebender and if youve got a beef with that brign it on" Onya said getting impatient. She didnt say Mya was because it wasnt her secret to tell. Her stance said she was ready and willing for a fight as her blood heated quickly. She waited for his responce with a almost evil grin.
"Ony-chan why do you always have to pick a fiiight?!" Mya whined and stepped back.

Lan Tian was singing a little tune to himself.
"The Bad Guy Killa,' Straight real Deala' Fillin' up on juice like Plants n' water, I'm LANTIAN! The fist fightin' master! who the heck's the Avatar? don't get clever! kick snaps qucik back to the face fer'real, just bet that I will, cause I'm: Goin' down to the Equalists. I'm gonna bury you once and for all. Goin' down to the Equalists, Gonna Walk downtown, Hope I don't-"
He suddenly swerved out of the way, just barely missing a cabbage cart, being driven by a young man and his older uncle who regarded the cabbages with great concern.
Suddenly, some little kids with coins were nearby. He began to get some thinking done…
"Hey Kids! I got some healthy fruits!" He called. They promptly tried to throw pebbles at him.
"Okay…How's about I smash this green baby" He spoke up, having dodged the pebbles, and producing a watermelon from his cart.
"I'll One-Shot it, too! Satisfaction guaranteed, one coin per, children, basic business."
Kids began to line up, eager to see, when the first one, a cute little girl, walked up and gave Lan a coin.
"Awh, that's nice of you. Think I'm gonna break it?"
"I think ITS gonna break YOU!" Laughed the girl, and her friends. Lan shook his head as he prepared Melon #1 for destruction.

Onya stepped forward ready to fight, but was stopped by her 'sister'. Mya frowned back at Onya and looked at the new comer.
"No sparring--" she stated but was cut off by Onya flipping over her head and in front of her before she pulled out two twin blades, recently aquired from some Equalist soldiers. Brandishing both, she slid them smoothly through the air as if they where extentions of herself. She watched him intently as she moved back slightly, allowing herself more room.
She never attacked first. EVER.
Mya watched with a sigh. She walked over to a tree and jumped, almost impossibly high, and perched on a branch with ease.
"Bring it on kid" Onya taunted not bothering to drop into her protective crouch, a direct insult in her oppinion.

"Hm, you are too kind, milady, You're cute when you're angry, love." He said.
She felt her face heat and her blood boil more.
"Do i get the name of the guy who's ass im about to kick?" she asked as she avoided his jabs deftly. Not waiting for an answer she swung her left sword high, about throat level and the other low about knee level at him.
Mya looked down at the new guy and cleared her throat to get his attention.
"hiya, im Mya" she said then giggled at the rhyme.
"Who are you?" she asked with a smile as she dropped from her perch in the tree he was leaning on.

Well the bright day suddenly got darker, as a heavy mist rolled in, completely surrounding the base. The soldiers could barely see 5 feet in front of them. A dark figure weaved in and out of the guards unseen. One of the patrolling guards stumbled on something. He looked down to see what it was and found another soldier with his throat ripped out. His eyes widened in fear and he was about to call out, when four prong like things stabbed through his chest. He turned his head to see the face of a demon staring back at him, before he died. The demon then threw the bodies into a hay stack and went on with his quest.
The demon made it into the base and went into the holding area for bender scrolls. He tore the place apart but he could not find what he was looking for. He thought of where it might be, and he believed he figured it out. He left the storeroom and went to where the military rations were being kept. He doused all of the food with oil and lit on fire with a torch. He fled out of a window, killing a guard as he ran past by slashing him across the spine with his claws. He was silent as he sped across the wall towards the commanders office. He stalked by an open window and waited for the commander to be alerted of the fire. He id not have to wait long, soon a soldier came and the commander was off. The demon slipped inside through the window and searched through the commanders things. He came across a chest that was locked in the drawer of the commanders desk. He quickly opened the lock by freezing it and inside was a white and blue scroll that was sealed the sacred symbol of the water tribe. The demon stuffed the scroll into a compartment on his clothing with a blue hand. The demon then jumped out of the window and began bending the mist around him and he shot over the wall.
Still covered by the mist, the demon landed in a tree and removed it's face to reveal a young tanned skinnned man with light purple eyes and dark hair. He took out the scroll and simply stared at it. "Finally." he said to himself. He put the scroll away and picked an apple from the tree he was in. Hiro took a bite out of it and savored the flavor. He was about to rest his eyes, when he heard horns and sounds of Ostrich horses. He then heard voices. "It's in the mist! Follow the mist and you'll follow the demon! Get that scroll back at all costs, and make it pay for the men and food we lost!" yelled the voice of the commander to his troops, which by the sound of feet running was a good many. Hiro quickly threw on his mask and leaped away.
He was jumping from tree to tree, mist surrounding him, when he heard sounds up ahead. Voices and a fight it sounded like. When he finally got close enough, he saw what looked like two benders fighting and three people watching. Hiro quickly formed a plan and jumped from the trees and landed in the space between the fighters and the observers. He then had the mist swirl around all of them so all they could see were each other and himself. He held his gloved hands up into the mist and claws of ice formed off of his fingertips. Hiro then took a battle position facing where the Equalist troops would be coming from. When he spoke through his mask, his voice sounded distorted and echoed, as if a deep voiced man was taking in a water filled cave. "Equalists, be ready." Though he preferred to fight alone, he felt it would be easier to escape if the soldiers were distracted with fighting other benders.

- Xue Yi Song -
- Outside of Republic City -
She ran as fast as her small body would allow her, Equalists were coming and she didn’t want to be around when they reach what they sought after. . . . Xue knew all too well what those monsters in human guises did to people when someone was in their way, whether they were a bender or not. Her parasol was closed up, and she was carrying it by its middle. Her arms were out behind her as she continued sprinting forward on her toes. She’d seen them not too far away, running through the trees, she heard them say something akin to ‘demon in the mist.’ A strange sort of fog that formed only at the tops of the nearby trees appeared and spread.
And she knew it. There was a Waterbender up there, and obviously, the Equalists were after him or her. She had only been out, minding her own business, taking a stroll in the woods because she wanted peace from the depths of Republic City. It was so busy, crowded and crammed, hard to move in streets, and loud. . . . Xue had just wanted some nature, at least for a little while. When she heard those familiar horns, she froze, Xue knew they were the horns of the Equalists, and she had heard them sound off enough in the city when they were pursuing someone after.
Even if her own bending abilities were safely guarded, Xue did not want to be caught up in their warpath, she did not want to be stuck in a battle that was not hers.
The Equalists were on ostrich-horses, so it Xue had to move as fast as she could in order to try to get away from them. It wasn’t impossible that they would assume her to be involved with the so called ‘Mist Demon.’
Deftly dodging trees as she darted along, Xue maintained her focus, her awareness, her face one of determination. She’d gone roughly two years avoiding the Equalists and trouble, and there was no way she was going to break that record now!
The trees are getting less dense, thinning out. It would seem I am headed for the edge of the forest. Soon I will be in the clear. Xue’s eyes narrowed a bit, Do I want to be in the clear when they come? Or would I be better hiding among the treetops? Making a split decision, Xue headed for a tree, it would be better if she could hide.
She latched onto the bark with almost as much ferocity as a feline and scrambled up the body to where the thick green leaves reach up toward the skies. Xue remained on somewhat of a low branch as she watched the Equalists scuttle on by themselves, headed for where the mist ended, for their demon.
Crouching like a cat, Xue looked around her for the nearest branch that lead toward the edge of the forest, to the open plains, and skies that melted into the horizons. Spotting her prey, she leap from branch to branch, landing on each on all fours, only to flee from the branch seconds later as she made her way on.
Why was she even doing this? Pursuit of the Equalists was a dangerous thing, yet there was this morbid sort of curiosity in her, she wanted to see them, wanted to know just what it that demon was. . . . And as of late, Xue couldn’t resist being an onlooker to the Equalists and their attacks on benders, and those accused of the arts. How much longer would it be until Xue herself was one of the ones fighting against them? How much more would she watch before she’d take action. . . ?
She wasn’t yet sure, but given how her heart was moving and changing, it might be soon.
After several more catlike leaps, Xue was at the end of the forest, and several people came into view on the ground, on-lookers, two who looked as if they were sparring, and someone who had landed right in-between the two. On his face was a mask, of what looked like a demon. By method of deduction, Xue assumed that he was the ‘Mist Demon’ the Equalists had shouted about back, deep in the forest. So he would be the Waterbender. . . ? Xue lowered her eyelids a touch and went on to look at the others, something told her that they themselves were not ordinary people. . . .
Probably benders themselves. Despite the Equalists’ best efforts to eradicate the art of bending, there were still many more benders around than people realized. If they are all benders, then that would make a rather large grouping, perhaps not large, but an unusual number at least. . . .
The heavy footfalls of the Equalists’ ostrich-hoses came. Xue looked back as she saw them traverse onto the scene, and she felt something in her . . . snap?
Is this the time? Is this the time where I find myself fed up with the Equalists, and strike back? Xue smiled a bit to herself and scoffed, what was getting into her. . . ? Wasn’t she suppose to be smarter than this? Eh, maybe so, but Xue was only seventeen and she never really had a ‘rebellious teenager phase.’ Unless you counted running away from home, perhaps.
“I suppose I shall be dim-witted this once.” she said, “No bending though, not unless I have no other option. . . .” Xue stood up on the branch, unsheathed her sword from its concealed position in her parasol, and dug the blade into the main body of the tree before she jumped off the branch.
The Iaitō blade dawdled Xue’s drop enough so that when she reach the ground, she wasn’t harmed. Xue wrenched her blade from the tree before she took off, and darted for the clearing.
She was going to fight, why? She didn't exactly know herself. . . .

"Oh good, i dont have to hold back....thanks for making this fun" Onya laughed.
"My name is Gau Syi...your..friend im guessing is a little hot tempered it seems..picking fights with people at random..there are still a lot of Benders out there..She should be careful. Were are you and your friend going Mya..surely not to republic city..that place is in a bad way right now.." Gau said
Myu Shrugged. Yes Onya could be hot headed but she fought for what she cared about and what she believed in. It was in her nature. Not only was she a fierce fighter, but she was a loyal and honest person. Great to have for back up if needed.
"We really done have anywhere to go to be honest. We where headed to the city...if only to see what was going on..." Mya said openly. She was young indeed, and seemed naive but in reality, she was a lot older at heart than she looked and acted.
Someone landed in the space between the fighters and the observers. then suddenly mist rolled in. He held his gloved hands up into the mist and claws of ice formed off of his fingertips. He took a battle position facing somewhere to the left of the group. When he spoke through his mask, his voice sounded distorted and echoed, as if a deep voiced man was taking in a water filled cave. "Equalists, be ready."
Onya immediately froze.
"And you led them here?!" She hissed her worried gaze falling on her sister.
"If they take or harm my sister...you will not leave this clearing alive" Onya said to the mysterious new comer.
Mya took a deep breath and a cool breeze fluttered unnatually though her hair.
"Its okay Onya, nothing is going to happen, we will win like always" Mya said confidently, but her eyes shone with a deep fear and sadness of years of running and fighting for her life and freedom.
"Are you ready? You know what to do if it gets bad?" Onya asked her sisters, as she walked over to her quickly
"i wont go without you" Mya whispered. Onya glared at her sister.
"you made a promise and you WILL honor it" Onya said with finalty.
She turned to the rag tag makeshift group with a grin.
"Fair warning my momentary brothers in arms, Mya is my first priority. No exceptions, but ill have your back if you have mine" She said as she crouched down ready to fight.
"take an air position Mya" Onya called.
"Hey, hot guy who refused to give me his name but wants to get his but kicked by me, we will finish our spar later." Onya called to her old challenger.
"old guy, any good with that sword?" Onya asked Gau, but he wouldnt get a chance to answer as the Equalists burst into the clearing. Mya immediately went to action throwing air bullets and swipes in their direction. Onya set her blades on fire and dived head first into the group of men, taking two out with surprise attacks.

lifting up his left leg and then slamming it into the ground, forced a large boulder up out of the ground, and with a quick a spin kick sent the boulder flying at the oncoming Equalists. With a grunt Gau started running at the incoming Equalists as the boulder soared towards them.

Although she was small, Xue used all the weight her body possessed in it and rammed herself right into the first Equalist she spotted getting off their ostrich-horse. Unfortunately, for her, it happened to be a man who was probably two and a half times her weight . . . no joke. Since she’d been running full force when she’d rammed her shoulder into him, Xue wound up letting out a groan from the force. Although her blow wasn’t enough to take the Equalist out, it was at least enough to knock the unprepared man off of his feet. The bloke let out a surprised cry as he hit the dirt, hard.
Taking a step back, Xue let out a breath before she jumped into the air and brought the end of her oilpaper parasol down on the man’s head, rendering him unconscious. “I will not kill, I will fight, but I refuse to carry the burden of a person’s life!” she shouted, of course to no one in particular.
Xue turned and lightly hit the ostrich-horse on the rump in order to get it to run off; the less ostrich-horses the Equalists had, the better right?
It was when a fist nearly hit the back of her skull that Xue let out a cry; it passed back her head and went right over her shoulder, she hastily turned on her heel to see the fist’s owner, yet another Equalist of course. She stumbled backward a bit; real combat was not Xue’s strongest area. . . .
Spirits . . . perhaps this was not the brightest of ideas. Letting out a breath, she threw her Iaitō blade up, as well as her closed parasol, getting into a more proper battle stance.

Hiro had not moved the entire battle, soon two soldiers charge him with spears. The last possible moment, he ducked and stabbed both of them in the chest. He then immediately started moving, weaving in and out in-between the soldiers, slashing and stabbing them as he went. He flowed like a bloody river, simply eroding his way through the rocks. When 10 charged him at once, he immediately bended the water from near by river and surrounded their heads in bubbles of water. They dropped their weapons and clawed vainly at the water, all the while drowning. He stabbed the first two in their head and drew the water away from their corpses. With that water, he created two large blade of ice frozen onto his hands. He then made a few swift moving arcs and dismembered the other soldiers.
He then melted the ice back into water and shoved it down the mouth of several soldiers, then freezing it, stopping their hearts. Hiro then turned around and leaped on the back of a soldier and covered his masks mouths teeth with ice, making very deadly fangs. He then moved the mouth, opening it wide. Hiro then chomped down on the soldiers neck and ripped out his throat with his demon teeth. As the soldier fell, Hiro stood crouched on his body and let loose a demonic howl. Some soldiers who saw eye widened in terror, a few ran in different directions, but more than he thought stayed and faced.
He killed two more soldiers with his claws when he was confronted by a boy in soldiers clothing. He couldn't have been more than sixteen. He held his blade properly, but his hands were shaking. Hiro growled but the boy stood his ground. "Y-y-y-you killed my father and brother. Their deaths will not have been for nothing. I will avenge them!" The boy yelled and charged him, sword raised high. As it came down, Hiro caught the blade and bended mist around it which began to freeze it. When it was completely frozen, he broke it in half. He then grabbed the boy by the throat and lifted him into the air, forst starting to form where Hiro grabbed him. He then spoke in his demonic echoing voice. "Go home, boy. Your mother is worried." The boys fear seemed to fade and he looked at him with anger. "A firebender killed mother during a jail break. She only served the food there, and they killed her. Your all monsters!" The boy then drew a dagger and stabbed Hiro in the arm. Hiro let out a cry of pain, then slit the boys throat.
He pulled out the dagger and threw it down. He then bended water from one of his pouches around the wound. He stopped the bleeding and would heal it later. Hiro looked up to see a young girl with a parasol tackle a soldier off his mount and then beat him over the head with it. She was then struck fro behind by a larger soldier, she looked scared but determined to fight. She would end up just like that boy. Hiro quickly snuck up behind him and stabbed him through the back with his claws. as the body fell over, revealing his form to the girl, claws and fangs dripping with blood, he stared into her eyes. She was at least a foot and a half shorter than him and he towered over her. He spoke in his same voice. "Why do you fight if you refuse to do what is necessary, little girl." As he stared at her, another soldier charged him. He simply threw his hand up and stabbed his claws through his jaw and into his head. he pulled them out and turned his attention back to the girl.

Before she could do anything to the man who had managed to skim the back of her cranium with his fist, he was dead, or was going to be soon enough. Something came through his back and out of his stomach, splattering blood on Xue’s body. Her gold eyes widened a bit, as she felt her breath hitch in her lungs. B-Blood . . . h-his blood! The claws that took this man’s life were wrenched from his body as he let out a horrible sound, almost gurgling, he was drowning in his own blood now. . . . The soon to be corpse lolled to the side, swayed for a moment and gave way, landing on the ground with a thud that wouldn’t leave Xue’s mind for some time to come.
She knew that much.
That was when he was revealed, the one she assumed to be the ‘Mist Demon’ these Equalists had been after in the first place. He certainly fit the bill with that mask of his; she assumed it was suppose to be frightening. . . . He loomed above her, certainly much taller than her, with her pathetic body that didn’t make the five foot mark. . . .
He had ice coming off his hands that formed into jagged claws, which had blood slowly freezing onto the tips. Fangs of ice hung off his mask as well, which he had used to rip into some unfortunate people as well.
The demon just stared down at her, his eyes boring into her. She was scared for a moment, tensing up and holding onto her parasol and Iaitō blade so tight that her knuckles showed white and bone through her thin flesh. His appearance was enough to break a spirit that was not steeled. That was when he spoke to her.
His voice was strange, it seemed to undulate between otherworldly and that of something near human, but she could still understand him. "Why do you fight if you refuse to do what is necessary, little girl?" he asked her.
Before Xue could muster a response, he slew another, before averting his attention back to her. Such . . . such an arrogant question! That enraged Xue to an extent, and that lividness showed upon her face. She looked upon him, in the eyes, at least what she assumed so, and addressed him, “You question what I deem necessary, and thus you question my morality, demon boy.” she hissed. “I am fighting as I perceive proper, and I do not consider death necessary at this juncture.”
She caught view of something, just to the side of the demon, behind him. . . . “Watch yourself!” Xue shouted before stepping to his side quickly and opening her parasol, deflecting some sort of projectile. . . . Little secret about her parasol; though it was made of oilpaper on the outside, Xue had it lined with metals on the inside so it may serve as a makeshift shield in emergencies.
Xue looked back up to the demon, though he was much larger than she, he did not frightening her any longer.

Edit: Sorry, I went back over her profile and realized I missed a few spots, so I corrected everything I saw wrong. >.< Is it okay to refer to as where she once lived as the 'once Fire Nation?'
