ΓI'm not here for you- why would I? I'm here for the sake of hope and people like us.⌋

| Name |
Junko Xiaoli

| Nickname |
Xièxiè (Shey-Shey) || As a child, Junko was obedient. She would never forget her please-and-thank-you's. Specifically, her thank you's. Her answers and questions would always end with 'thank you'. The habit wore off with time. One day a peer brought up her childhood, and inevitably her habit. The nickname caught on from there. Junko doesn't mind being called Xièxiè once in a while or in times of endearment, just don't rub it in her face.

| Age |
22

| Gender. Sexuality. |
Female || Heterosexual

| Personality |
Like most inhabitants of the Earth Kingdom, Junko is sturdy. She's stubborn and sticks to what she believes. In fact Junko can be unbelievably stubborn and inflexible in her approach. So much so that when the logical arguments don’t suit her, she will just refuse to listen completely. This doesn’t mean she is completely uncooperative; if she agrees with an idea she will support it fully and will bring benefits. A benefit that comes with being stubborn is endurance. Junko is willing to go to great measures and can/will withstand tough situations to reach her ideals. She is patient and thorough. She works toward her ideals thoroughly, whatever speed that may be ,as she is never in a hurry. While she is patient, she is also lazy, especially when ordered to do something. Junko will not move a muscle until she is motivated to get up and work. Junko values money and is sensible when it comes to purchases. In a way you could say she is the treasurer of the group. She can take her sensibility too far at times and become frugal in the name of savings and a better future. With her hard work and patience, Junko is able to lend a strong shoulder to people. Don’t abuse her generosity (or don’t let her catch you abusing it); she will ruin you. Junko is confident, and with confidence comes bravery. She is ready to test her limits and rise up to challenges. Junko is naturally honest and will try her best not to lie. Her brutal honesty acts up in times of intense emotions Junko will become insensitive and more prone to harsh comments.

Anger comes slow to Junko, though once it makes its way through her thick walls it becomes a creature of its own. She becomes almost uncontrollable and will set her sights on vanquishing the cause of her troubles. Junko isn't the sort to fall in love, date, break-up, then move on. Once you are in her target zone, you're stuck there until she takes you herself. Expressing affection doesn't come easily to Junko and will often have a troubled expression on her face around said person. On the other hand, sadness is hard to cover. She doesn't feel grief and sadness easily, though when she does, it will weigh her down for a time.

All in all, Junko Xiaoli is the woman with a strong outer wall, and many, many ,weaker inner walls.

  • She completes her goals thoroughly.
  • Her endurance; she can last in a battle for quite a while.

The Bare Necessities: Honestly, Junko doesn't really have anything special. She doesn't need to carry around a sleeping bag- she can just bend one out of the earth. Need armor to carry into battle? Just bend one out of the earth! She carries what she really needs in a small tote that she slings over her shoulder.

Dagger: She attaches it by the hip through a belt and only really requires it while hunting in the wild.

A small bag: Well, that's what everyone refers it to and that's all Junko will admit to it being. It really contains the wedding ring of her mother, a necklace her sister made for her, and shell- shaped medal her brother won in a sparring contest. She takes around with her everywhere she goes and attaches it to her belt by a thin rope.

| History |
Junko Xiaoli was born as the second child of Mei Lin and Jin Xiaoli. The two met during a wedding reception and were glued to each since then. Now, customs in the village didn't approve of such arrangements, but because of Jin's respectful role in the village, they made an exception. Eleventh months of marriage gave way to a baby boy, Yuu. He was given the light caramel eyes of his mother, though the cold contemplative stare from his father. He was strangely silent. Fast forward seventeen months later and the small village gave way to another child of the Xiaoli. She was named Junko for strong dark, and depth less eyes she possessed- almost exactly like her father's. What differed was the way she looked at another person. Her stare was direct, honest. Her growth was rather average for about two years. It was a fresh spring day in the village and Junko was dismissed to go play with Yuu. The two tended to rough house in times of play- since she couldn't really walk yet and the two would never really get along. She would often be confused for a young boy because of her mother's horrible hair-cutting skills and her father's lack of concern over it. She lost (as usual) in the fight that day. This time, though, she was clearly frustrated at her loss. The young girl stamped her foot on the ground, and in that moment, a pillar shot out of the ground... Just beneath her brother's jumps of triumph. It sent him a couple feet into the air and landed with a cry/oomph. The cry sent Mei Lin running out of the quaint home. The pillar stood still in the air as Junko merely stared at it in confusion, but as soon as she heard her name called sternly the pillar sunk into the ground shyly.

"Jin!Jin! Junko can bend! She can bend earth! Junko is an Earth Bender!" And the words Mei Lin called out would be remembered in the village for ages to come. No one would notice nor would they know of the small, pleased smile Jin made.

The village never held a young(not old *hinthint*) Earth Bender within its walls and no one knew how to treat one; not even the village Elders. Jin volunteered to give his daughter martial arts training instead. The Elders agreed right off, knowing how renowned Jin was for his … unique ‘skills’. The day after her third birthday she began spending play-time in the mountains with her father. In the mountains, her father changed. He became stern and demanding, very unlike the gentle and vaguely awkward father she knew at home. For her young and fragile heart, the change terrified her. What if her supposed 'Papa' was going to suddenly order around and put her in cages- like the chickens? She quickly fell into step with the orders she was given. It wasn't long until she turned into a stern, obedient young girl herself. She grew her hair out and tied into a simple pony tail. By the age of nine she knew how to work the basics with Hung Gar (a Chinese Martial Art similar to Earth Bending stances) and passed her father's requirements. Once she passed her training, she spent some time relaxing. By this time, her brother was ten years of age. Her father had also been training his first son in sword art and knowledge of their lands. Her brother’s cold stare became more defining and mischievous. As soon as break time came, it went. She was sent off to neighboring town to a well-known Earth Bender’s home. Here she was taught to forget her manners and become more firm- stubborn in her ways. The martial arts training she went through with her father came into play when she began mastering the art of bending. She was extraordinary in her methods; the best pupil her teacher ever had. She was known for tricking her opponents with the movement of her torso. She spent four years in the village and gained as sense of endurance and independence. She returned home at the age of thirteen to a two year old baby sister. She was her mother. From the warm, gentle eyes, to silky strands of dark hair. She was welcomed with open arms. Upon letting the fact that she had a new baby sister sink in, Junko began searching for her mother.

“Mom… Where’s mom?” She peered around the halls curiously.

A calm, whisper resounded throughout the house- the voice of her brother. “She’s dead.”

“Oh.”The death of her beloved mother should have impacted her. It really should have. And when she realized not a single tear fell down her cheeks, she never felt so guilty.

Her father began to frequently leave the house and the village with other men. He began coming home later and later. At first it was a couple hours, but it soon lasted for weeks. During one of his absences Junko and her brother discovered the unique ability their little sister had too. The news spread through the village like wildfire. With no father to really govern the household and Junko being the only earth bender in the whole village, she brought it upon herself to teach her little sister.

Fast forward six years into the future and Junko was nearing twenty, Yuu was twenty one, and Tsubasa was nearing nine. The village elder had passed away and her father had been elected as the new leader. Her father stopped going on those mystery trips and began staying at home, locked up in his bedroom instead. One sunny day her father called his children together. Yuu, Junko, and Tsubasa eagerly awaited the reason for his calling. He merely offered a small smile and began putting on a mask (refer to picture). He dismissed the children and walked back inside his office. Junko never saw his smile again.

On the eve of her twentieth birthday, the village was preparing a banquet in her honor (her being the leader’s eldest daughter and all), and everything seemed just fine. She was in a neighbor’s house, dolling up for the celebration while her little sister played outside with neighbors. Her brother stayed home with their father. The women assisting Junko were gossiping loudly.

“I know right,Qi? You need a husband, Junko! When I was a young girl I alway-“ The woman’s speech was cut off when a blood-curling scream erupted from the village entrance. Confused, Junko sat up, preparing to investigate what was going on, but the women brushed off the scream and held her back. A bit irked at the fondling women, she sat back down with a mild grumble. It was until multiple screams heard that Junko really began to hurry out the house. The women immediately scolded her for doing so and began trying to pull her back to the room. Before her, in the center of the village stood twenty or so men surrounding her father. Her brother stood at the feet of the stairs clutching his arm. Upon putting the pieces together, she made the effort of running down the stairs to assist her clearly outnumbered father… only to be held back by the women of the house. She struggled, she truly did, but could go nowhere and only watch. She watched as her father struggled to fight back, but he was too outnumbered. Out of the blue, a pillar of stone shot out of the ground, effectively surprising the men. They soon snapped out of their minor shock and split up, attacking both the owner of the attack and her father. And through the whole brawl, the rest of the village could only watch in terror.

Jin and Tsubasa Xiaoli both lost their bending that day. Junko was too caught up in her shock over the loss to realize that hey, her father can Bend too. Her little sister’s legs were permanently paralyzed during the act as a mistake one of the attackers made. The attack not only took away, her bending, her legs, it took away Tsubasa’s smile too. And in that realization, Junko cried. She found herself sobbing while her sister stood idle in her bed; like a doll. In a flurry of shame, her brother left the household and joined the Navy. The village Junko and her family live in is not too far from the ocean. The village began settling into a dark, worried time. Who were these people and why did they take away their bending? What is preventing others from attacking now? An emergency meeting was called and the Elder’s and Leader began discussing solutions. Someone brought up the Avatar…

She volunteered for the search and insisted that no one else come. She is an Earth Bender, and this fact alone will most likely give her an advantage when it comes to defense.

So here Junko is in the present: On the search for the Avatar and a possible cure to the loss of bending.

So begins...

The sun was slowly rising over the Northern Water Tribe mountains, creating a spectacle array of colors. People of the tribe were already up getting things ready for the start of the day. The mothers were preparing breakfast, the younger females of the family were setting the table, the men were telling their sons old warrior stories and most of the younger males were wrestling to see who was the most dominant. Today was a beautiful day in the Northern Water Tribe until there was a scream present. Chi Blockers have invaded their territory - And when Kasumi heard of the new, she was up within a flash and quickly put on her fighting colors, tying her hair up in a ponytail. She ran towards the direction of the scream and stopped in her tracks. Kasumi was too late. She fell to her knees and tears started rolling down her eyes. Men of the tribe picked up the female's body and carried it to the doctor. Kasumi charged into her master's tent in a rage. "Send word to the other tribes, I need the best of the best to train me, again. This has gone on far enough." She commanded while leaving his tent as he wrote a letter. He gave it to one of the ship men and they carried it with them. A new Avatar has risen from the Water tribe and she was not to fuck with - Especially if you mess with her family, friends and more importantly, her tribe...

A few days have now passed and every one of the tribes should have gotten the word by now. She was already packed and ready to go. She had hugged her mother, family and siblings goodbye. Kasumi felt that she was ready, she knew that she was. She also knew that she had to bring peace to the world and eliminate the Chi Blockers once and for all. Kasumi couldn't do it alone, she needed help and what better way to do that then get help from the other tribes since she was one of the only waterbenders left in the tribe.

She was out with her master, getting a few more tactics and strategies down pack. Her master nodded his head, meaning that she was more than ready and that really meant something to her. "Kasumi, Kasumi!" She heard someone calling her name out as she turned around and seeing that it was no one but the messenger boy. "Their here." The people he was talking was her mentors for the next few days, weeks or however long it took. She nodded her head then looked to her master, who smiled brightly as she rushed over and gave him a hug. "Point me into their direction." She said as she followed the boy to her mentors, eying each one of them and she then smiled.

"Hello, I am Kasumi and if you haven't figured out or heard by now..." She paused while raising her hand up to her chest. "I am the Avatar." She then lowered her hand and placed it by her side, still eying each of them. "Now, my tribe was attacked a few days ago by Chi Blockers and I'm sure your guys tribe has been attacked as well." She reached down and picked up her bags while speaking softly again. "I'm assuming that we are going to the Earth Kingdom first since that is the next element in the cycle, correct?" Of course, she already knew, just making sure that they knew what was going on before getting on a boat with them.

She walked past them and walked up onto the boat. She turned around and spoke again. "You guys coming or what?" She joked while walking onto the boat further, handing her bags to one of the crewmen. "Take these to my room please." The crewmen nodded and did as he was told.

Kasumi turned around again towards her mentors. "So, introductions would be a good start. Who is going first?" She asked while sitting down on a nearby bench, crossing her legs and placing her interlocked hands over her knee.

((OCC: I have edited my post just to bulk it up and make it more literal, that's why it might be different if you read it twice))

She watched as those in the great hall argued over who should go. The men they were choosing from were old and also protégées, Skyla was the only girl to attend the meeting.
Sighing she watched as the council finally decided one a man to be in his 30s after 3 hours of people arguing their right to train the avatar, so far Sky hadn't opened her mouth.
Sky looked at the man in question, he was a nice guy and was capable, having taught sky how to do a few airbending moves back when she was a beginner. However, Sky knew she could do better, the avatar was supposedly around Sky's own age and she was sure the girl would want another girl her own age to talk to as well as be her teacher.
She watched as they discussed the time the man would leave and where the ship was that would take him. They were to leave in the early morning by boat, through the captain would not meet the avatar's teacher until the morning which gave Sky the perfect idea.
That night Shy packed a back pack made up of her cloths and essentials as well as her glider strapped across her back, and went to the ship. It was dark and after a quick explanation to the crew on why she was alone, 7 hours early for her trip she was allowed on the ship and they left earlier than planned as they no longer had to wait for the avatar's mentor.
Grinning, sky glanced back at the air temple she was leaving, thinking of the men who would arrive at the docks to find no boat, "Well someone's going to be pissed in the morning..." She said to herself giggling slightly.

Once arriving in the Northern water tribe, Sky was lead to stand in a group along with 3 other, presumably the avatar's other teachers.
She glanced around at the other 3 mentors and could guess from their clothing what they were going to teach. A young women for earth, probably a couple of years older than sky herself but seemed to hold a maturity, that and the fact that she looked tough as nails.
Than there was a young man for firebending, He was dressed in normal firebending wear but he also carried around with him what looked like books, maybe he was still a student? Sky stared at the guy for a few more seconds, the man looked familiar through she couldn't put her finger on why.
And finally was the old man for weapons, he was decked out and Sky felt a little underdressed, though there was nothing she could do about that, she had never used a weapon in her life. Sky disliked hurting others and always relied on her bending but than again it might be a good idea to know how to use a weapon, Maybe she could convince him to teach her a few things as well.
Once she had looked at all the teachers in turn, she noticed that the avatar had finally arrived.
She was young like sky had expected and held the trade mark appearance of the water tribe, dark skin and hair with blue eyes.
"Hello, I am Kasumi and if you haven't figured out or heard by now..." Kasumi paused and raised her hand up to her chest. "I am the Avatar." She then lowered her hand and placed it by her side, the avatar glancing between the 4 of them, causing Sky's skin to prickle.
"Now, my tribe was attacked a few days ago by Chi Blockers and I'm sure your guys tribe has been attacked as well." Sky froze when she heard the word Chi blockers, as far as she was aware the air temples hadn't been attacked but than again the council liked to keep things from her in the excuse of her being a young girl, maybe weapon training wasn't such a bad idea.
The avatar reached down to collect her bags as she continued to speak, breaking Sky from her thoughts. "I'm assuming that we are going to the Earth Kingdom first since that is the next element in the cycle, correct?", They were going to the earth kingdom? She hadn't been told because she wasn't really supposed to be the avatar's teacher but... oh well... If they were going to be travelling around the world than Sky would just have to make sure they avoided her air temple when they came to her element.
The Avatar suddenly walked past their group and walked up onto the boat, turning around and speaking again. "You guys coming or what?" Sky cracked a smile as she run up the plank to join Kasumi on the boat as she was followed by the other teachers.
Kasumi turned around again from talking to a crew member and looked at the group. "So, introductions would be a good start. Who is going first?" She asked while sitting down on a nearby bench, crossing her legs and placing her interlocked hands over her knee.
Smiling Sky stepped forward, "My names Skyla, but please call me Sky, and I will be teaching your airbending!" She said, giggling as she jumped into the air and sat on top of a spinning ball of air to demonstrate what she could do, and just for the fun of it, watching the avatar happily before continuing, "It's my favourite element, it's just so much fun to play with! So you will probably love it to!" She said happily before angling her body so that she could see the rest of the group and wait for the next person to introduce themselves.

"You shall train the Avatar." His father told him. Tsuko's eyes grew wide, looking at his father. "You.... have -GOT- to be kidding me..." He said, faking a his hate for the idea, knowing his father only put him on this trip to 'torture' him. "You will have Zenki to bring you to the Water tribes, then you will be alone. You are to teach her everything you know, and assure her safety with your life. Am I understood?" He asked, his eyes growing with anger. "Yes father, I completly understand." he said with a bow of his head.

A few days later, he was walking around in the Northern water tribe, looking at the damage. He had came earlier then the rest, and stayed on the down low when it came to his appearance, not knowing what they would do seeing a Firebender in their village. "This... is awful...." He said looking around. Zenki had left a while back, and Tsuko knew where he had to go.

He continued walking, flipping his staff in his hand, trying to see if he could help in any way.

He looked to the Avatar, then to the other mentors on the boat, keeping to himself until she turned around. He looked to the Airbender, and had to admit to himself she was a cute thing to look at, but he shook his head to snap back in reality, looking at Kasumi. "Well met, Avatar Kasumi." He said, bowing his head. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I will be your fire bending teacher, my name is Setsuko Arthoren, son of High General Imaizumi Arthoren of the Fire Army." He said, looking to Skyla, seeing her on her ball of air. "I'd show you what I can do, but I'd outright turn the boat into ashes." As he knocked on the wooden ramp. He looked to the two that hadn't yet introduced themselves.

He eyed the weapons master, chuckling as he had so many things on him, seeming as he was the only prepared one. Then, Tsuko looked at himself, he really wasn't much to look at. He had his typical Fire Nation clothes on, a scarf around his neck and a stick slung across his back with a small cloth holding books. "I'm guessing I'll be one of the lasts to teach you. Good, that means I can finish up learning as well." He said, grinning at the possibility of finally able to finish studying the Lightning Generation technique one of his masters had told him about. He had been amazed at how simple the Lightning Reflection had been to master. He then looked to the Earth Bender, the Weapons Master, the Skyla and back to Kasumi. This... would be interesting indeed.
