The pair's traveling time was cut in half on the return trip due to the eel hounds and Xue was relieved to not be on her feet, though by the end of it she was beginning to feel a bit saddle sore. She dozed off a few times during the ride, and while it wasn't enough to sate her exhaustion, she was feeling a bit better by the end of it.
When they finally reached the town where the Avatar and the rest of the group was waiting, Xue felt a mixture of relief and disappointment. She was happy that they would be able to relax, at least a little bit, once they reached the group, but her adventure with Asad had been a growing experience and she wasn't sure how she felt about it ending so quickly.
They left their eel hounds at the town stables and began looking for where the group may have gone. It was a large village, so Xue decided that it might be best if the two split up. She turned to Asad, "Can you search the eastern end of the village? I'll search the western. Find me if you find them." She then turned to search her side of town, inwardly scolding herself for not asking where they were going to be staying before her and Asad split off from the group.
Not far from where she left Asad, Xue turned to look down an alleyway and saw a small mound near the entrance. Closer inspection and the chi blocker saw that the mound was a person. Recognition sparked in her mind and she rushed to the side of the fire bender, Eris.
"Asad! I found Eris, come quick!" She shouted, knowing that the Earth Bender could not have gotten far in the short span of time since they parted ways. Then, she turned her attention towards Eris.
"Eris, what happened? Where is everyone else?" Xue asked, concern filling her face. She cursed herself once more for leaving her bag back in the alley in Weifei which had her canteen in it. "We have to find the others. Can you stand?"
Kasumi sat there, staring the Chi Blockers down as she rolled her eyes. Her displeasure and distaste for them made her stomach churn as she was mere inches from them. They talked and laughed then glanced over at her from time to time. Their food was brought to them as the servant glanced at Kasumi. "Give her whatever is left." They laughed and she clenched her fists as the water below them raged from side to side. She was fuming and wondered how could Eris and Keirin let her get kidnapped like this. Boy, were they going to get it when she got out of here - Or if she got out.
Approximately a few minutes have passed and her ears twitched as she heard the sound of bodies dropping outside. Her two guards raised up from their seat, only to be knocked down by a basket wearing male. His words went into her ears as she nodded her head but didn't accept his hand.
She grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulders. She then reached for his hand to grab and started running out of the house and into the woods. Once they got far enough, she would slow down and stop running, eying the male before her. "That was really some nice fighting back there." She said while breathing a little heavily between her words, eventually sitting down on the ground and staring up at the night sky.
"So, who are you and why did you save me?" She asked while diverting her eyes from the night sky and over towards the male who had just rescued her. She didn't mean to come off harsh but she was a very curious person and just needed to know.
"I appreciate your compliment. You may not have heard me back in that nasty building, so I shall introduce myself once again, and with greater detail. I am the great Heng Ling, traveling musician and mercenary! My songs bring enchantment and wonder to the masses! My combat prowess is widely renowned, and unmatched!"
By this time, Heng was nearly shouting. Hearing some twigs snap, however, shushed him almost immediately. He snapped to attention, and quickly pulled one of his hand bows out from his robes. He scanned the area, before realizing that it was probably just some small creature. He put the hand bow away, and got back into his comfortable lean.
Heng cleared his throat before continuing on, this time in a more quiet voice. "Sorry 'bout that. Thought I heard something. Now, where were weee... Oh, right! I'm Heng Ling, and I saved you because you needed saving. Simple as that, I suppose." He shifted a bit, and started fidgeting with his hands. He cracked his knuckles and finger bones, and started twiddling his thumbs. "To be honest, I woke up to a scream, which lead me to think something was going wrong. After I saw you getting carried away by those men, I had to do something. I'm not the kind of man who sits idly while strange men kidnap a girl for no good reason."
Once Heng had finished speaking, he scanned the area once again, before turning his attention to the girl.
"So... Heng Ling has introduced himself. Now, if he may, he'd like to inquire about who you are. If you don't mind, that is. I can understand if you aren't comfortable sharing anything about yourself; we did only just meet. A name will do, if nothing else. I'm not one to pry."
