- The best word to describe Bryn's appearance is would be angular. Her height is above average, which is one of her most apparent features, but she is no lanky stick figure. This does not mean her form is full of soft curves, but she is rather broad shouldered. Though Bryn is strong, her musculature is not immediately apparent; thus, it is easy to underestimate her. However, the efficiency and power of her movements makes it readily apparent that she is not one to sit around all day. There are many small scars around her body, but none that are large and none that are readily apparent. The most easily noticeable one is a long, smooth scar that goes halfway around the front of her left shoulder which she got in a training accident years before.

Her face is narrow and long, and her eyebrows are often knitted together as if she is irritated by the world she sees. Those who first meet her would think that her pale lips never move from that steady frown. Still, when she suddenly smiles, her whole face seems to be transformed almost instantly. She has high cheeckbones that and large eyes that make her face highly expressive when Bryn lets down her guard. When smiling, teasing, or just caught off guard by a pleasant turn of events, Bryn's face becomes a transparent window to those pleasant emotions that are rarely far below the surface. When angered, however, the best way to describe her expression would be 'stormy.' Her eyes narrow harshly, her eyebrows scrunch threateningly over her nose, her pupils constrict, and her jaw tightens. It is a face that has made more than one person hesitate, and makes it clear that Bryn is someone that you cross at your own peril.

- ✦Far too Eager to Fight - As you probably guessed, there is basically no fight Bryn would willingly walk away from. Even if she knew she were going to lose or that it would not benefit her in the long run, if someone swings at her, she is loathe to let it slide. She has to be dragged away, or concerned about a friend being harmed, before she will leave a fight unfinished.
✧One-Track Mind - As mentioned before, Bryn sees things as black and white, and can become oblivious when focusing hard on one particular thing. This is good for a strong focus, but it can be very dangerous if she is not careful. On the other hand, it can lead to funny misunderstandings.
✦Overly Harsh - Whether it comes to herself or to others, Bryn will more easily be overly judgmental than too kind. With others, this is often just a lack of communication of the compassion she feels for those she cares about. However, with herself, she has little mercy and will easily beat herself up for each failure.
✧Too Quick to Judge - Sometimes, Bryn's snap judgments will be off, and this can lead to her pushing someone away when she should not have or getting the wrong impression of someone. She will often end up burning bridges, and this can backfire.

- ✦Hospitals, Doctors, and Psychiatrists - From a young age, Bryn had a general distrust of hospitals and their white-coated inhabitants. Now it has grown to a full-blown panic attack when she is in one for very long.
✧Death - Though Bryn seems fearless when fighting, even against terrible odds, the worse the fight, the harder she has to work to overcome her feelings of panic and terror that it could mean the end. She finds it hard to see death, and thinking of what it actually means fills her with panic.

- To put it plainly, Bryn was born into an unhappy home. There was nearly constant discord between her mother and father. As long as Bryn could remember, her mother had always been mentally unstable. Her father wanted little to do with his mad wife and had little interest in raising their young child. Instead, he immersed himself in his work. It was not long before she was with her grandmother every day, only returning home at night before her father could notice she had been gone. There were some days her mother never realized either, though she was always home.
Bryn's grandmother could only do so much, and as Bryn grew up, she began to realize that her family was not normal and resented that. She always felt that she had to fight for her parent's attention and she rarely got it anyway. Finally, shortly after she turned seven, her father gave up the pretense of caring and left them. From then on, his only contribution to their family was support checks. Bryn and her mother had to move to the worst district in order to afford rent, and Bryn was exposed to many things that she should have never gotten into.
As she grew older, it was no surprise that Bryn got deeper and deeper into trouble. Her mother never improved, and finally, Bryn was officially taken from her mother, who was then put into a mental care home. Bryn went to live with her grandmother. Unsurprisingly, she soon got in with the wrong crowd and ended up in a young gang that constantly got into trouble with the law for stealing, brawling, vandalizing, and other such things. Several were benders, and they usually made the nonbenders do the worst things while they covered for them. For Bryn, in a corrupted way, that was her family. Though it broke her grandmother's heart to see her granddaughter doing these things, Bryn was too desensitized to really care. She hardly even notice how much her grandmother cared for her. Finally, when she was only fourteen, Bryn went too far and was connected to a serious crime. Her grandmother was finally able to get through to her, and Bryn decided to get out of the gang of her so-called friends.
From then on, they constantly ambushed her and beat her until she could escape. Bryn was determined not to rejoin, and her grandmother agreed to send her to martial arts lessons so she could learn to defend herself. It took every extra penny her grandmother had, but she wanted Bryn to be able to stay strong. It took some time, but the attacks finally lessened. It was only after Bryn had soundly beaten each and everyone of her former friends that they finally left her alone, and Bryn knew she was through running. She continued learning to fight, which included some weapons training, where she became comfortable with the quarterstaff, bokken, and sword, among other things. She eventually started to work at the dojo she learned at to pay for lessons and take that burden off her grandmother.
When Bryn was fifteen, her grandmother started getting very sick. It was not long before she and her grandmother were basically living at the hospital, yet her grandmother only seemed to deteriorate. Finally, after a year and a half of struggle, she passed away. Now, whenever Bryn so much as sees a doctor, she is reminded of that prolonged struggle and can hardly stand it.
Her father, by rights, had to take her in. Bryn hardly lasted a week with her father and his new family before she left to be on her own. She picked up several jobs, and has lived on her own until now. As she has grown from a young girl into a woman, Bryn has felt more and more ill at ease with the situation in the world. She is not yet sure how she will fall, but she also cannot stand the disparity and injustice toward benders. The only question is on whose side she will fight.
