Jane Foster
A brilliant and talented young scientist, Jane Foster began her career doing particle research at Culver University in New York. She continues to do post doctorate work there in the field of Astrophysics. When she received a grant to study Anomalous Particle Phenomena, she moved her research to Puente Antiguo, New Mexico, where she is joined my Dr. Eric Selvig and her intern/assistant Darcy Lewis.
It she and her friends who find Thor when he is banished to Earth, finding him in a crater after crash landing. Not knowing what she had stumbled upon Jane assumes he is nothing more than a odd man that feel on bad circumstances. Unfortunately this also cost her all of her research as well, after Shield comes in and takes over her research site. Determined to help this man who called himself Thor she takes him back to the town. Thor wanting to regain his hammer Mjolnir, goes back to the site but is unable to reatin due to his unworthiness to wield it.
But out of duty Jane for her kindness to him he takes back many of her notes, making her research not a total loss. Through out Thor's trial on Earth Jane develops feelings for the Thunder God, after he regains Mjolnir and right before his return to Asgard, they show their true feelings for each other. Thor tells Jane that he return to her and Earth, but after fighting his brother Loki Thor is forced to close the bridge between the planets in order to keep the Earth safe.
After the destruction of the Bifrost Bridge, Jane was left with her love light years away. She then decided that she would try to find a way to reconnect the realms. She had been doing research on it for sometime when the attacks by the Chitauri she was amazed to find out that Thor and a group of other hero's was taking on this threat to Earth. She was amazed and curious how Thor had returned. But being so far from him and the fighting having been given a place by shield to work on her research she was unable to connect with him before he returned to Asgard once again. Feeling quite discouraged she was beginning to wonder whether he had truly meant what he said.
