Description

Scott "Scotty" Thomson
~1~2~3~Scotty and Kyle~
Image

Description
Scotty has always appreciated his fortunate good-looks and particularly likes his height. Standing at approximately 6'1" he has a muscular build and never misses a moment to flaunt it. He especially enjoys showing off his carefully chiseled body with the newest fashion around (no matter how ridiculous it seems). There's a certain fire that glows from Scotty's exotic looking violet orbs that give hint to the wild amount of ambition and determination pumping through his veins. It's uncommon for him to be seen without his signature grin plastered to his face.

Age
18 (just a few months from 19)

Gender
Male

Orientation
You could say he's... Bi-curious

Grade
College Freshman

Race
Wizard

Type
B

Weapon
Two identical épées

Abilities
Persuasion: Some say it's mind control which is incorrect. Persuasion gives Scotty the ability to plant a thought in a targets mind, making them believe it was theirs. The results can very from having the target run a small errand for Scott to having it reveal its deepest and darkest secrets. For Persuasion to work Scott must have full view of the desired target. (I didn't realize how much this sounded like Inception until after i typed it :/) [Great]

Atom Manipulation: Scott uses Atom Manipulation to take a part and reconstruct the atoms of an inanimate object without physically touching it. He can make the atoms of the desired object multiply and breakdown, allowing him to grow or shrink the targeted object. He must envision the desired result before he starts casting or it will not work [Mastered]
"Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom"

Illusion: Illusion allows Scott to replace what the targets' eyes see as reality with a false reality conjured in his own head. Illusion only works if the target is within a 20 feet from where Scott is standing. The effected area has a 15 foot radius and anyone standing within this distance will be effected. This serves as Scott's main defensive incantation. [Good]

Stamina Enhancement: A simple trick Scott learned many years back. It does exactly what its name entitles; Enhances his endurance mentally and physically [Exceptional]

Beginning Anew: This enables Scott to heal the wounds of others. He can heal minor injuries completely but can only temporarily help major injuries. [Good]
"Curate nisi sanetur auxilio crescere incipiat"

Weaknesses
He has a tendency to be flamboyant and showy when using his powers and this sucks up much more energy. He can only use Stamina Enhancement so often to keep him functioning, but once he reaches a certain point of exhaustion he'll be out like a light for who knows who long...

Signature Ability
Metallrebe (German for "Metal Vine"): Metallrebe is basically a more concentrated, more difficult, and overall more powerful version of Atom Manipulation. It uses the same standers as 'Atom Manipulation' but unlike Atom Manipulation, Metallrebe will only effect metal blades. When cast on a blade, this spell conjures metal thorn covered vines that shoot out of the hilt at great speeds and entangle the enemy in a painful web. These metal vines are used as an extension of Scott's arms. This spell is at its most powerful when it is used on the two épées Scott carries as weapons. This spell is extremely difficult to control and more than once Scotty has found himself tangled in his own painful trap. [Good. Learning to get better control over it]

Race Characteristics
Scotty could easily be mistaken for a human. the only thing that might lead to questions and interest is the strange violet coloring of his eyes

Personality
Scotty is your classic “people person.” He is interested, lively and volatile--yet forgiving. He is characterized as having heightened senses that are socially attuned, so he tends to be animated, buoyant, high-spirited, effervescent, imaginative, and optimistic. He is fun-loving and talkative, and is easily captivated by whatever is new and fashionable.

Although he's usually quite comfortable taking direction as part of a group, Scotty can also be charismatic and a highly motivating leader. The downside to his engaging and spirited temperament is that he can also be easily distracted, inattentive, lacking in follow-through, superficial, faddish, and forgetful. His sense of humor can, on occasion, get out of hand.

Scotty can be a bit of a joker and loves attention. He relishes the limelight and likes to think of himself as the "life of the party". He affectionate, enjoys social activities, and make friends easily. He is imaginative and creative, and is often the one who enthusiastically promotes new ideas. People call him vivacious, generous, and light-hearted. He has a tendency of wearing his emotions on his sleeve, but Scott is always quick to “forgive and forget.” He struggles with follow-through, is chronically late, and tends to be forgetful. As quickly as he discovers a new hobby or pursuit, he can also lose interest--when it ceases to be engaging or fun (Fencing being the only exception; he never tires of that). Scotty's tendency to want to please others can, at times, cause him to exaggerate when speaking and become overcommitted and disorganized, though his intentions are good.

Biography
Scott's first conscious memory is of wandering the side of a dusty highway. He remembers how the wind made him sneeze and his eyes itch, of how the heat made his skin dry, and of how utterly alone he was. He didn't know how he ended up where he was and he hadn't even thought of who he was until the kind man and woman who stopped and talked to him brought it up.

A wide grin enveloped his face as the two invited him into their char. He graciously clambered inside, grin still plastered to his face. Seated, he looked to his left to see a dark-haired boy around his age. As his violet eyes made contact with the dark-haired boy's olive orbs his grin grew.

A few days later that kind family adopted him, naming him Scott.

Kyle Thomson
~1~2~3~4~
Image

Description
Standing at 5'11", Kyle falls only a couple inches shorter than his brother. His tall, slender frame, is wrought with lean, wiry muscle. He typically garbs in casual attire, avoiding excess attention wherever he can. is unkempt hair is usually worn in a dark tangle that hangs messily into his olive orbs.

Age
18

Gender
Male

Orientation
Asexual

Grade
High school senior

Race
Vampire

Type
B

Weapon
Not being a fan of weapons or fighting, Kyle simply carries around a small dagger

Abilities
Enhancement: The usual improved speed, sight, and hearing that comes with being a predator. [Exceptional]

Sound Wave: This allows Kyle to control the sound waves around us. He can control their frequencies and direction. If harming the target is his intention, Kyle can make the sound frequencies rise so rapidly they give off a blood curdling screech that can result in a few broken windows and eardrums. He can also make the frequencies drop so they become undetectable to the human ear (comes in handy when ya want ta keep a secret xP) Kyle can also control the direction of the sound, this makes him a great messenger. [Great]

Weaknesses
Sunlight, Stakes, and Hunger

Signature ability
Elemental: Gives Kyle the ability to control and manipulate the surrounding environment to his will. He acquired this ability through many years of sitting alone in nature even before his vampiric qualities were evident. He rarely uses this ability due to his dislike of the mistreatment of nature. [Great]

Race characteristics
His fangs are slightly longer and thinner than the traditional vampire's and he has the typical pale skin. He is also extremely violent when hungry, even though it is not in his nature. Bite is extremely painful.

Personality
Some might call Kyle "emotionless" due to the mask of collectivism and calm he dons, impenetrable to anyone but his brother. But this is a false statement. He is actually quite attentive to what others need or desire and is a great listener. Though he is careful not to break his act of nonchalance, a few words of advise might break his silence if you confide in him.

He's slower to take on new projects than the average person, as Kyle's dislike of new situations takes over. He is very introverted and prefers solitude and quiet over his social life. He rarely speaks unless spoken to but when he does, he speaks his mind truthfully and without hesitation. Though he will respond if you speak to him directly, the majority of Kyle's responses are brusque and monosyllabic. The extreme introversion, along with the melancholic tendency to negativity, makes it difficult for him to give compliments and make upbeat small talk. It also causes him to instinctively say “no” when he first hears a request. Others may perceive this as “snobbishness” when, in fact, it is not.

Unless Kyle is very comfortable, and is accompanied by understanding friends, he puts himself into a somewhat isolated and alone state, refusing to warm up in a social gathering. He is slightly more critical and grudge-bearing than his older brother with his tendency to dwell on things for a long time in his mind. Another way he differs from his brother is his temper; whilst Scott's temper is cool and nearly nonexistent, Kyle's is fiery and easily ignited. He will not snap in public but later take his anger and frustration out on an unexpecting pillow or inanimate object. His being a Type B vampire does not help his control; it makes him even more unstable and when hungry becomes extremely violent.

When he craves quiet and peace he can often be found in nature with his prized Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 II Photography camera.

Biography
As a young child Kyle was extremely quiet and introverted, even more so than he is now. While the other children would play games and socialize, Kyle could be found wandering off to somewhere quite and staring off into space. His parents became worried after six years of this behavior and singed Kyle up for counseling.

As the Thomson family made their way to Kyle's first counseling session Kyle's mother spotted a young, fair-haired boy of about Kyle's age wandering the side of the road alone. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson slowed to a halt and clambered out of the car. When they confronted the young child they asked where the little boy's family was, where he came from and his name. The boy answered the questions with the same answer: He couldn't remember. After some discussion, the Thomson's invited the little boy into the car and drove back to their house, counseling forgotten.

As soon as the two boys caught eye contact in the back seat they felt a special connection (believed the cause of this was the fact they were both Class B) and young Kyle shed his cloak of introversion and warmed up to the fair-haired boy quickly.Seeing their child happy for the first time in years, the Thomson's filled out the appropriate papers and legally adopted the young boy now names Scott.

The two boys didn't show any supernatural qualities until a few years after the adoption.

A blue Hyundai Sonata 05 whipped around the bend and across the slick pavement, narrowly avoiding collision with moving vehicles and pedestrians. The reckless driver ignored the blaring horns and slur of irked insults that followed him as he continued to speed through the pouring rain. Water spewed from the whirling tires as the slightly rusted blue car swerved and jolted up the narrowing road leading to the pristine and respected Avolair Academy.

A shrill screech emitted from the Sonata as the driver suddenly put all his weight on the protesting breaks. The rusting car swerved and shrieked across the water anointed asphalt before finally coming to a stop. The car was parked horizontally, consuming two student parking spots, and the front bumper had made a deep and noticeable slash along the side of a sleek, most likely expensive, silver car. "Ha! Right on time and not a scratch on this ol' gal!" The fair-haired driver spoke loudly, his violet orbs closed tightly in pleasure.

"First of all, we're twenty minutes late. And secondly, look what you did to the car in front of us." A dark-haired young man spoke without turning his attention from the clouded sky outside the passenger window.

"Only twenty minutes?" The blonde scoffed, "That's early in my book!" With a chuckle the young man turned his purple eyed gaze to the gash stretching along the passenger door of the car before them. "That little thing? I don't see what you're so worried about, Kyle," The blonde turned back to Kyle who was still staring intently at the falling rain, "I think the scratch gives the car character."

Before Kyle could respond, the golden-haired young man burst out of the car, a large duffle bag slung across his strong shoulders, and before he darted through the rain and open gates of Avolair Academy, shouted, "See ya Kyle!".

Kyle sighed before opening the car door and calmly stepping into the pouring rain. Not bothering to put the hood of his red jacket up, the tall, young man hauled his one, small bag out of the backseat of the car and set it lightly on the soaked pavement. Before shutting the passenger door, Kyle reached in and removed the keys his adoptive brother, Scott, had so carelessly left in the ignition. Stiffly, Kyle picked the bag up, draping it over his shoulder as he stood, and shoved the car keys into the pockets of his dark-wash jeans.

Kyle tilted his head back, his dark tangle of hair falling out of his olive eyes, and stared into the clouded sky. Usually being out during this time of day bothered his pale skin, but today the sky was clouded over with stormy grey and the sun's rays could no longer reach him. The left corner of Kyle's lips twitched upwards as the rain collected on his pallid face, revealing a sharply pointed canine. He had always loved everything about the rain; the cleansing scent it gave off as the silver droplets descended, the calming, musical sounds it made as it comes in contact with the moist soil, and his favorites, the way the droplets left a cooling sensation behind as they gently caress the skin and the way the clouded skies offset the effects of a vampire's natural enemy; the sun.

The ghost of a smile vanished from the vampire's lips and his dark hair fell back into his olive orbs as he tilted his head back down to face the academy. He began his slow walk towards the building, soaking in all the details just as the plants absorbed the rain. Rows of strategically placed potted plants, beautifully trimmed trees and the occasional, ornate stone bench lay lined up in rows along the paved walkway leading towards the dorms. The academy was definitely awe inducing to say the least. It was a large, elegant and pristine series of buildings that had won the respect of many. It was surrounded by lush, well-kept plant life that seemed to flourish no matter the season and this had earned it a smile from the dark haired vampire that slowly made his way through the rain.

As Kyle approached the building his dorm was in his pace slowed, reluctant to leave the presence of the rain. By the time Kyle had finally reached the main entrance his clothes were drenched and his dark hair was plastered to his face. The water dripped from every visible part of is body and it began to pool around his boot clad feet. Leaving a large puddle at the entrance, Kyle made his way to the dorm he was assigned to, his black rubber boots squeaking noisily on the polished marble flooring.

The only noise that could be heard in the large building was the obnoxious squealing of the vampire's boots as he climbed the grand, marble stairs towards dorm 301 and the patter of the rain on the large glass windows. Kyle loved the sound of the rain, it always managed to calm him down even in the deepest of hungers.

The door that opened into dorm 301 was a large, white Victorian-style door that loomed over Kyle as he stood before it. Without hesitation the dark-haired vampire turned the door handle and entered dorm 301. Kyle was greeted by a flood of ornate white and pink. The walls were consumed by silk or lace drapery and of what you could see of the walls they were either white, pink or black in color. Lined up against one wall, their head posts brushing the ornate drapery, were four beds. One of which was larger than the others and excessively decorated with white and girlish frill.

A sigh escaped Kyle's parted lips as his gaze came to rest on the beds. Four beds meant three roommates. Three roommates meant having to be in the same confined area with people, and being forced to stay in the same place with people usually meant Kyle would be forced to eventually talk to some of them. Kyle had never been a people person and the thought of living with three other people for a year was definitely not what he considered as ideal.

With another sigh, the male vampire headed towards the twin sized bed furthest from the window and closest to the door. This bed donned a fresh white sheet and two equally white pillows. Kyle set his sopping bag on the bed and carefully removed a Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 II Photography camera. After insuring there was no water damage inflicted upon the camera, Kyle slung it around his neck using the leather band attached to the camera. Kyle zipped his brightly colored red jacket up over the camera to prevent any, if all, water from damaging it.

Without a second glance at his still packed things, Kyle calmly exited his dorm, descended the marble stairs, nonchalantly walked through the puddle he left at the entrance earlier, and stepped into the pouring rain once again.

The wind had picked up since Kyle had been outside last and the rain was coming down in a harsh, diagonal manner. The dark-haired vampire let out a happy sigh as the droplets numbed his cheeks before he hunched over slightly in an attempt to even further protect his camera from the pelting rains. Kyle walked silently through the court yard, relishing the cooling rain. Slowly he made his way to the opposite side of the lawn and entered the towering educational buildings. Inside he immediately caught sight of the English room and entered without a sound. There was an air of calm and collectivism about Kyle as he took a short, apologizing bow in the teacher's direction and nonchalantly took a seat in the back corner of the room where he would draw less attention towards himself.

As he sat, his sodden mat of black hair dripped continuously and trickled down his face, leaving behind thin trails of glistening silver on his pale cheeks. He slowly unzipped his drenched, blood red jacket, letting the water pool around his chair. As he did so he revealed the black tank he donned and the camera slung around his neck. Suddenly, Kyle felt an unbearable pain he was all too familiar with serge through his body. He grimaced slightly at the pain and his face further contorted as he thought of what the pain meant. He had too feed soon. Kyle hated feeding; it caused the victim extreme pain and suffering and if Kyle refrained from feeding he would become angered and violent, often lashing out at the nearest unsuspecting person. Usually whenever Kyle had to feed his brother, Scott, would be there to allow him to feed and though he hated inflicting pain upon him, Kyle would sink his dangerous fangs into his fair-haired brother. But now Kyle's willing brother had been replaced by an assortment of unsuspecting students. Kyle surprisingly kept a faux expression of calm as his olive eyes darted to the crook of the students' necks. Though his expression stayed the same, his long, sharp canines made themselves known as Kyle sat in a silent battle with his hunger, trying to fend it off until after class.

"See ya later Kyle!" Scott shouted to his adoptive brother as he dashed through the pouring rain and through the open gates. The large black duffle bag slung across his shoulder jolted around as Scotty ran across the sodden lawn of the academy. Occasionally, the blonde would leap over planted pots and stone benches as he took a shorter route through the court yard. This would be his fourth year attending Avolair Academy and Scott knew just about every nook, cranny, or shortcut there was to be found.

With the rain numbing his face, Scott burst through the ornate wooden doors and into the dimly lit foyer. Scott glanced around the building quickly, never once slowing, and after he spotted the grand staircases he sprinted up them, taking the steps two at a time. The blonde wizard flew around a sharp corner, his wet, brown leather boots nearly slipping out from beneath him, and down a marble corridor. On the right hand side of the corridor stood a tall, white door barricading Scotty's way into dorm 300.

Without thinking, Scott shot through the door and into the large room. In front of him lay three large beds one of which was occupied by a black duffle bag. The blonde carelessly tossed his bright red bag onto the center bed and then shot back towards the door. As he passed the open door a loud tearing noise could be heard. Now completely still, the blonde hesitantly directed his purple gaze to the bottom corner of his lime green shirt. Just as he feared there was a large tear that wrapped around the left front corner to the back of his left hip, revealing a large strip of skin. "Damn!" Scott swore as he shrugged off his light blue jacket to give himself a better few of the damage and let it fall to the slightly wet marble floor. He stared down at the unpleasant slice in his clothing and swore some more.

A loud, echoing clang of the the clock downstairs signaled that first hour was halfway over. Scott's attention broke from his shirt as he heard this and forgetting about his abandoned jacket and ripped shirt, shot through the marble corridor at a speeding pace. Once again he took the stairs two at a time, not caring if he tripped, and barreled out the large wooden doors.

The freezing rain chilled Scott's bare arms as he crossed the wet court yard again. He sprinted pass many buildings before finally reaching the one titled "Magic Mastery". Without slowing his pace, the blonde burst through the tall, classroom doors and into a nearly silent room. A pearly grin flashed across his face and he lifted a wet arm to the back of his neck as his violet orbs darted around the room, receiving slightly annoyed glances in return. He stood at the back of the room breathing heavily until he regained his breath completely. "Ha... Did I miss anything?" Scott chuckled lightly.

Mr. Lee sighed heavily and instead of stating the obvious of 'you're late', pointed towards a brown-haired boy sitting nonchalantly in his seat, amusing himself with the cellphone gripped in his hands. "Stand next to Jason and await further instruction."

"Yes Sir!" Scott smiled brightly and saluted the teacher in a joking manner before he strode across the room towards the previous said Jason. As he neared the seemingly distracted boy, Scott turned so his back leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over the wet shirt that clung tightly to his toned chest. As he stood there, Scott decided to get a good look at his new classmates.

Standing in the front corner of the room stood two females, one of which Scott knew as the "queen" of the school. Scott liked saying he got along well with everyone at this school, but this wasn't exactly true. The only people he refused to converse or interact with would be those few 'government officials' that wandered the school. Scott had always disliked any and all forms of government partly due to his strong belief that they restrict freedom and supplied little if any positive outcomes, and partly because of the general air of power and superiority that radiated from them which left an irksome feeling swirling about the pit of Scott's stomach. As of late, the main reason Scott avoided the members of the hierarchy was the fact that the Ace ranking had reopened and the members were searching for a replacement. Scott dreaded the idea of being forced to take on this role of Ace and the idea of sitting in a stuffy meeting room discussing ways to "improve" the school sent a shudder running through his entire frame.

Scott shook his head, his damp tangle of golden hair flying into even further disarray as he did so, in an attempt to ward of the unsettling thoughts of government. Now turning his attention from the queen to the female that stood beside her, Scott's violet eyes widened slightly and a flicker of a smirk played at the edges of his mouth. This female stood with her back to the wall Scott was leaning against, her copper hair spilled over her shoulders in majestic waves that outlined a figure one could marvel at. The short skirt and knee-high socks she donned complemented her figure even further and Scott found himself leaning forward slightly to get a better look.

The silent battle between Kyle and his unwavering hunger continued in the back of the classroom, the other students oblivious to the fact that if his rapidly depleting willpower failed him they could be his next unfortunate victim. Kyle's slender hands turned to fists as he set them on the desk in a failing attempt to keep control. Thin streams of blood trickled down his chin as long canines began to sink into his lower lip, his grip of stability slowly slipping. He struggled to keep his composure as a series of painful chills surged through his damp body, causing him to involuntarily shiver. Though the dark haired vampire's pallid skin felt cold and clammy to the touch, every nerve in his body felt as if it had been set ablaze. His shallow breathing quickened as his olive orbs darted from neck to neck, the gently pulsing carotid artery in each tantalizing him further. Small trails of blood similar to the ones below his lip began to form on his palm as his nails dug deeper and deeper into his clenched fist.

The teacher gave Kyle a questioning look as she passed his desk. "How's the paper coming along, Kyle?" The dark-haired vampire rolled his eyes upward and gazed up at the teacher. She was a slender yet defined woman in her mid-forties with mousy hair pulled sharply back in a strict bun. Her thin eyebrow arched above the rim of her glasses as she spoke, "Do you think maybe a piece of paper and pencil would help?" Small sniggers and wry comments could be heard but Kyle ignored them, swallowing hard, and barely managed a brusque nod of his head. The woman shook her head slightly as she stalked off towards her desk, heels clicking loudly against the classroom floor, to retrieve the needed paper and pencil. Kyle clenched and unclenched his jaw trying to keep his mind off the blood vessels streaming red and white blood cells throughout the surrounding students' bodies. Within moments of leaving, the click click of the teacher's heels grew louder and Kyle's eyes rose from his tight fist to the woman standing above him. She slapped the paper and pencil down on the wood and turned on her heel, continuing her patrol of the aisles.

Kyle hesitantly spread out his right hand, the palm now stained with red, and shakily picked up the pencil. His hand was the only thing that gave hint to his struggling state as he sat at the back of the class. It shook unstably as he brought the pencil closer the blank paper and his grasp on it tightened with every movement. The pale boy brought the pencil lead to the paper and pressed down hard. As he began to write the lead snapped under the immense pressure being asserted and this caused Kyle to increase the tightness of his grip. The last squeeze was too much for the pencil and it splintered in his palm. Slowly the vampire opened his hand, the pencil halves falling from his grasp, and studied the splinters protruding from his already stained palm. An unnoticeable grimace crossed the teen's face as he slowly pulled the bloodied slivers from his hand.

Kyle quickly re-clenched his right hand in an attempt to prevent any further blood loss. his olive orbs moved from his hand to the surrounding students. They flicked from student to student ensuring no one had seen his little incident or attracted any unnecessary attention to himself. Just as he was about to conclude no one saw, he locked gazes with a purple haired girl seated not too far from him. Her large blue eyes held a look of bored interest and Kyle quickly dropped his gaze. Wrapped around her neck was a bright tie the color of blood. Kyle felt his heart begin to quicken and without realizing it his gaze began to roll up the tie and landed at the crook of her neck. The hungry vampire's tongue involuntarily grazed his bloodied lower lip as he watched the main artery in the girl he recognized as Mako White 's neck pulse.

The spidery fingers on his hands began to stretch and ball back up and Kyle began to move restlessly in his wet seat. His eyes never once left Mako's smooth neck as he moved about. He swallowed thickly as his heartbeat accelerated and his breaths quicken. Damp, dark hair fell into the vampire's now glazed over olive eyes. Thoughts raced threw his now hunger possessed mind; thoughts revolving around blood, how hard he should launch himself, and were exactly his fangs should pierce. Then his mind was blank, his eyes glazed and the hunger took over completely.

Kyle slowly began to stand, preparing himself to launch at the unexpecting Mako who now had her back turned towards him. The muscles wired throughout his entire body tensed, prepared to fling himself out of the chair, and just as he was about to leap a painful sting penetrated the skin protecting his neck. Kyle's now vivid olive eyes widened and he glanced to his side. A girl no more than 5'3" stood at his seated side, fangs buried deeply into his neck. Her damp auburn hair fell from the unkempt side bun and covered her face. Kyle began to reach around her, attempting to pull her off but his arm froze as it curled around the girl standing behind him.

A sudden calm washed over Kyle as he sat staring at the stranger biting his neck. His eyes returned to their normal size and all pain disappeared from his body. A low moan emitted from his slightly parted lips and Kyle relaxed in his seat, allowing the ethereal feelings of pleasure to envelope him. Kyle's weight began to shift towards the girl due to the fact his strength felt as if it had been ripped away just as the pain had and his slender frame began to mold into her curves. Subconsciously, Kyle tilted his neck, allowing the smaller vampire to sink her fangs in deeper, sending a pleasurable spark through him. The arm still wrapped around her seemingly regained its strength and using it Kyle pulled the girl closer to him insisting she continued her meal.

Another low moan escaped Kyle as the fangs sank even deeper still. The arm curled around the female vampire tightened about her slim figure and pulled her closer, closing any space that might have been between them before. The overpowering sense of pleasure overwhelmed the male vampire's confused mind and using the arm already wrapped around the girl he pulled her onto his lap. Surprisingly and to Kyle's delight through all this movement the girl's jaws stayed latched on to his neck. The dark-haired teen quickly took his free arm and wrapped it around the girl, hugging her warm body to his cold frame. His now open, bloodstained hands clung tightly to the pale, loose sweater that now exposed one of her shoulders. Kyle's chin hooked over the girl's bare shoulder and one of his hands crept upwards, entangling itself in the girl vampire's messy locks.

The fact that he was in a room full of people, let alone his English class, fled from Kyle's mind and was replaced by all the good and pleasure coursing through his veins. He was enveloped by euphoric feelings, by pleasure and comfort and the girl seated on his lap. Sitting like this Kyle began to notice things about her; She smelled of fresh rain, of sweet things like fruit and maybe even a hint of cinnamon. She felt warm and comforting, an air of charisma and joy floating about her. The longer they stayed like this the more connected and attached Kyle began to feel. He began to feel the need to keep her safe, to ensure her happiness. He felt like over these short few moments together they had bonded, that the vampire sitting with him had some how become a part of him.

As they sat there Kyle began to feel safe like he was the one being protected, shielded from the outside world and this drove him to hug the girl even closer to him, her legs dangling off the side of the chair behind him, and stayed like this, unwilling to move.

Feeling a heated stare beat down on him, Scott averted his gaze from the knee-high socks and began a search for the stare's owner. His gaze was immediately met by a pair of somber, yet lovely, lapis-blue eyes. These somewhat familiar pools of blue, each veiled in a shroud of dark lashes, captivated his attention and Scott found himself racking his brain for a name. A brash comment from the boy sitting beside Scott caused the somber eyes to look away and being too enveloped in his search for a name, Scotty took no note of what the incubus had said.

A rather loud thud and an irked male voice broke the blonde's concentration and he found himself gazing at a drenched stranger bustling about with a pile of damp papers. Silver dripped from the newcomer's dark hair and into a pair of intriguing fox-like emeralds. These two gems adorned an olive tinted and rather effeminate face. Scott’s violet gaze slipped from the dark-haired boy’s face and slowly rolled down the boy’s body. His slender frame donned a close-fitting grey V-neck that exposed most of his collar bones. As a second layer to shield himself from the rough whether outside, the dark-haired newcomer wrapped himself in a dark jacket now glazed in rain water. A few shades darker than he had probably bought them as, the boy sported a pair of dark, water speckled, skinny jeans.

The newcomer seemed distracted as he made his way to the side of the room Mr. Lee had instructed him to. He kept glancing back at his many notebooks and papers, a look of concern flashing over his face each time he did so. The boy stopped beside Scott along the wall and gave a small smile before kneeling down and observing his slightly water damaged papers. With a sigh the boy stood up and introduced himself as Aiden. Scotty returned Aiden’s greeting with a wide grin and a loud chuckle “Names Scott, Scott Thomson, but you can call me Scotty.”

A blunt remark about coming to class and a comment on the manipulating ways of women replaced the typical introduction from Jason. This caused Scott to laugh lightly and he began plucking at the torn, brightly colored and water sodden shirt.

The boy calling himself Aiden hugged his wet notebooks tightly as if protecting them from any further damage and Scotty couldn’t help but wonder what was hidden within them. He began to creep closer to the dark-haired boy inch-by-inch and before long they were brushing shoulders. His usual playful smirk adorned his lightly tanned face as he turned towards the green-eyed boy. “Are your notebooks okay? Was there anything important in there?”

The next comment coming from the brown-haired incubus’s direction snagged Scott’s attention and he tore away from the mysterious notebooks. Jason’s mentioning of the price of a single semester caused Scotty to drop his smile. Most of the students attending Avolair Academy came from generally wealthy, well off families who could afford tuition easily. The Thomson family was on the opposite side of the financial scale and each semester they barely scrounged up enough money. Sometimes they were thousands of dollars short but for reasons unknown the school still allowed both Scotty and Kyle to attend. Part of Scott believes it’s because the school doesn’t want an emotionally unstable vampire type B wandering the city with no one to control it. Scott’s never mentioned this idea to Kyle and most likely never will. Kyle already hated himself for being born a “disgusting blood-sucking monster” enough as it was. Adding another thing for Kyle to hate about himself would never be a smart move due to the unknown toll it would have on his already waning stability.

Scott’s thoughts were interrupted as the room began to grow and the walls, ceiling, and floor seemingly evaporated before disappearing completely. Scott stared at the transparent floor as a swirling mist licked its way up his legs and into the clouding sky. Rolling thunder could be heard from every direction and a smile flicked across Scott’s face. Was this some kind of simulation conjured up by the teach? Maybe an illusion? Or maybe they were all really asleep in the classroom and this was some kind of dream Mr. Lee had created! Ideas flicked in and out of Scott’s active mind at rapid fire and his violet eyes sparkled excitedly.

The storm suddenly grew in intensity. The rain began to pour down relentlessly, soaking them all within seconds. The wind roared and howled in Scott’s ears and the booming thunder echoed from behind. The temperature dropped rapidly and the pouring rain began to turn to pelting hail. The chilling winds stung at Scotts face and his eyes watered as he squinted between burning lids. Loud thunder clapped from every direction and lightning flashed dangerously close.

Too engrossed in his ever changing and exciting surroundings, Scott missed the teacher’s possibly important instructions and the monstrous creature heading towards him came as a shocking surprise. It was huge, much larger than the one the girls had been stuck with, and a pale, sickly green in coloring. The skin was anything but smooth, numerous patches of discolored skin stitched together in random, uncoordinated places could be seen on its tough hide and an awful stench wafted off of it as it moved closer. It was grotesque to say the least, its eyes bulged and its unruly claws scratched at the floor with every step. Scott’s violet orbs shot open and his mouth agape as the thing thudded towards the spot he was standing. Glancing around, Scott spotted Allura charging at a different monster. It almost came as a surprise the amount of pent up strength and energy lay hidden inside such a small body and Scott couldn’t help but chuckle quietly. Turning back to his own monster, Scotty’s eyes returned to their normal size and his open mouth clicked back into its usual smirk. “Let’s get this show on the road!”

Strangely the monster stopped in it’s tracks with no warning at all and began batting at invisible opponents. Scott stood strait and stared quizzically at the monster. "Scott, Aiden kill it while I have it stunned!" Jason’s voice yelled from the side. So he did this. Scott’s grin grew. “I’m on it!” Spreading his legs out in an offensive stance Scott closed his eyes, calming his senses and in a normal tone spoke “Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom.” The Latin rolled off his tongue easily as he recited the spell for Atom Mutation. Opening his eyes Scott found a surprising sight; nothing changed. The wizard cocked his head to the side and arched a thin eyebrow “Kay…again!” Closing his eyes once more Scott spoke in a slightly louder voice, “Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom.” Scott opened his eyes to the same disappointing scenario. “The hell…” Scott tried his eye closing routine once more and in an even louder tone recited the spell,“Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom!” Opening his eyes to find nothing had changed and frustration began to boil inside the blonde. This time with his eyes wide open Scott recited, “Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom!” Nothing. “Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom!!” Once again, nothing. Scott’s frustration slowly grew and out of aggravation he shouted, “Staminis mutatio mutatione fiunt atom.!!” As expected nothing changed and just as he was about to shout the spell once more a flash of metal caught his eye. Turning his head from the monster Scott saw two shields sprout from the bands around Allura’s wrists. Atom Mutation? Scott pondered on the thought of having his powers stripped and given to someone else and decided that was the only explanation. So whose powers do I have? Scott’s violet orbs darted from each classmate his mind solely wishing he paid more attention to everyone’s powers in previous years. Scott sighed, not remembering a single power his classmates had and turned back to the still stunned creature. The more he looked at the thing the more it seemed familiar to him. Where had he seen it before? His brow contorted as he struggled to remember.

Suddenly it hit him; the colossal creature standing before him reminded him of a very similar picture he had seen upon many occasions in the public library near the Thomson residence. He had gone there many times, never by his free will of course, with his adoptive brother, Kyle. The picture hung on the wall above the return slot and Scott remembered having sat in the chair across from it for hours waiting for Kyle to finish his reading. The picture was of a grotesque beast halfheartedly sewn together with needle like teeth and claws. He had practically memorized every detail of the picture by the time he finished the 4th grade.

A loud, ferocious roar much too close for comfort caused Scott to jump from his thoughts and his startled gaze landed on not one, but two monstrous creatures facing each other. Scott’s eyes widened in shock at the sight of the two nearly identical beasts and he stared at the closest monster. This was the newest creature on sight and was slightly smaller than the one still distracted by whatever Jason had done to it. Though it was smaller in physical conformation, its claws were nearly twice as long and razor sharp. Scott baffled at the newer beast, it was identical to the monster hanging above the return slot.

The library monster suddenly lunged forward and brought down a beating claw upon the 1st monster, tearing a long and deep gash through the class monster’s thick hide. The monster’s pain-struck howls barely made it over the sound of the roaring winds that muffled Scott’s ears. Brushing his soaked hair, now plastered to his head, out of his eyes, he peered through the pelting rain and hail at the battling monsters. The library monster continued to beat down on the slightly distracted classroom creature and blood began to mix with the falling rain and pool around the two. Roars and howls filled with anger and agony rang loudly throughout the space they occupied. As Scott watched the battle unfold a thought made itself known to him. Did I do this? Who has the power to bring pictures to life? Scott’s purple orbs flicked from each of his classmates, hoping to get at least some answers to whose power he now possessed.

A new figure appeared in the stormy space. A boy around Scott’s age with a nearly crimson colored mane boldly interrupted the rather dangerous class session and began laughing in what seemed a fit of hysteria. Scott arched a questioning brow as the boy easily made his way through the pounding rain and ferocious winds towards Mr. Lee. To Scott’s and most likely everyone in the room’s surprise the dark-haired man pounded relentlessly on the teachers skull not stopping until the blood began to ooze from the teacher’s face. The most likely mentally unstable man easily evaded a hard swipe from one of the monsters and went into another fit of hysteria before turning to Jason. He spoke to the incubus with a maniacal expression etched into his face. Scott’s violet orbs darted between the still battling monsters and the man talking to Jason, unsure of which was more dangerous.

Scott remembered Mr. Lee, now sprawled on the floor in a gathering pool of his own blood. Without a second glance at the monsters or Jason and the other man, the blonde sprinted to the teacher, struggling to keep his balance in the relentless winds. Scott crouched down beside Mr. Lee, staring at him in shock before carefully reaching his hand out and pressing down on the artery in his neck. After feeling a few pulses Scott exhaled deeply in relief. Seeing no sign the teacher would stop bleeding, Scott began to recite his healing spell, “Curate-“ He stopped short remembering he no longer had his own powers. Quickly the blonde whipped his head around towards where the girls were fighting ,“Allura! I need your help! Now!”

Allura! I need your help! Now!” Scott’s frantic voice was muffled by the roaring winds and thundering skies as he called out to his fellow classman. She seemed hesitant to leave her position but after a long pause, she listened to Scotty’s cry for help and darted through the raging storm to his aid.

Scotty’s eyes were wide, startled pools of swirling purple as he turned from Allura and stared at his new teacher, covered in a pool of crimson and dying before the class. He reached out to the helpless man, clutching his hand tightly within his own, as the small classmate beside him yelled at the one who caused this tragedy. “Don’t die on us yet, Teach…” A mix of uncontrollable and ferocious emotions flooded through the blonde’s sturdy frame all at once, causing him to shake. These raw emotions bubbled up uncontrollably, forming as sparkling tears that rimmed his angry eyes. These tears trickled down from his dampened lashes and merged with the moist trails the cruel rain had left behind.

Scott sniffed quietly as he remembered Allura standing beside him. “You may not know how to now,” his voice was shaky, filled with the coarse, raw emotions from before and he had to take a deep breath before continuing, “But I can teach you.” Allura kneeled in the pooling blood as Scott was and he took her small hand, placing Mr. Lee’s inside of hers. Now with Allura’s and the dying teacher’s hands between both of his, Scott began to speak. “You managed to summon those blades at your wrists without knowing the incantation, right?” Violet orbs looked sternly at the white haired girl as he spoke, “Well, maybe if you actually recite the incantation the power levels will be increased…” Scott paused as he pandered the thought of his powers being increased and the effect they would have on others before continuing. “Now, I want you to close your eyes and relax. Isolate yourself from your surroundings. Don’t let anything distract you, you’re going to need all the energy you’ve got in that body of yours, got it?” Without waiting for an answer the soaked blonde continued, “Before, after, and while you recite the incantation I want you to focus all your positive energy on Mr. Lee, okay? Every last ounce of it.” He noted the angered look adorning the white haired female’s face and his voice perked up and a smile stretched across his face and spoke with a cheerful laugh, “To have this work you’re gonna havta turn that frown upside down!” Now with a softer, more sincere smile he said, “No more Miss Gloom, kay?” His spidery fingers wrapped harder around her hand, forcing her to grip Mr. Lee’s. “Picture yourself somewhere quiet… Peaceful. Imagine whatever it is that makes you happiest in life. Remember any moment that caused you to smile, even if it was just a twitch of the corner of your mouth I need, no... Mr. Lee needs you to try your best.” He spoke calmly, a faint hint of honest somberness underlying his almost cheerful tone.

"Can you...help me...?" She sounded so defeated, so… helpless that these few words came as a bit of a shock to Scott. Did they really just come from the Queen of Mean, the woman without a heart, the girl whose cold stare could freeze a man’s soul? Scotty didn’t know and didn’t pounder on the thought. Instead he spoke with a comforting tone, “Of course. All you have to do is listen to what I told you and everything should work out perfectly.”

An unnerving laugh from behind caused Scott’s body to go ridged. His violet gaze flicked from the deflated queen to the menacing figure looming above the spot he was crouched at. A chill tore through Scotty’s spine as this Lazarus character addressed him. Newblood? Did he just call me a noob? The corner of Scott’s mouth twitched upwards in a sarcastic smile, hiding his anger. The blonde took a deep breath, controlling his temper, and turned back to the still kneeling Allura.

"Do you think it's possible we can get stuck here..?" Allura spoke in a barely audible whisper and Scott followed her gaze. A raging tornado spiraled wildly in the direction of the students and Scotty’s jaw dropped slightly. “Wicked cool…” He spoke in an amazed whisper as he stared with wide, excited violet eyes at the danger heading their way. With nothing barring the tornado’s way, it tore through the thundering storm and swirling mist easily, closing the gap between it and the crowd of people fairly easily.

Scott reached into the soaked pocket of his water sodden khaki pants and searched for his cellphone. He cursed as his fingers wrapped around air and pocket lint. damn… I must have left it in my dorm… Scott rarely took pictures and it was just like his luck that at one of the few moments he wanted to capture a spectacular moment on film his camera phone was out of reach. “Where’s Kyle when ya need him…” He spoke his thoughts in a whisper as he longed for the camera that was always present hanging about his adoptive brother’s pale neck.

Scotty looked down in defeat and his eyes grew as he saw the blood mixing with the rain. “Shit! The teach… I totally spaced!” Shaking his head roughly, soaked golden locks whipping his face, Scott looked back at Allura. “Right, the incantation. Now I want you to repeat after me. Curate nisi sanetur auxilio crescere incipiat.” He spoke each word carefully and clearly, pronouncing each Latin syllable perfectly. “It’s very important to get the pronunciation correct so listen carefully one more time. Curate nisi sanetur auxilio crescere incipiat.” Certain the girl wouldn’t forget it, Scott smiled lightly, “And don’t forget to smile!”

Suddenly a strong foot came heavily out of nowhere, harshly smashing against the side of the fallen teacher’s head. The smile dropped from Scotts face and his eyes widened. He stared at the odd angle Mr. Lee’s head was now positioned in and the distraught emotions from before came rushing back. The blonde’s strong frame began to shake and his hands balled up into shaky fists. The emotions overflowed once more, framing his eyes in irate tears. To Scott’s good-fortune the frustrated tears were concealed by the rain that slicked his face.

The shaking blonde stood up from his crouch slowly, trying with all his might not to let his anger explode. A light chuckle emitted from his lips as he spoke, “Hey Laz…” He paused for a moment, glancing to find Lazarus turning slowly in Scott’s direction. “Don’t you know it’s impolite to a kick a man when he’s down?!” The anger was too much for Scott to bear and a ferocious fist propelled through the storming rain, coming in direct contact with Lazarus’s left cheek. The force of the blow caused the shorter male to stumble backwards, his dark hair whipping around. Scott’s breath came sharply and he took a deep breath before standing straight again. Without turning away from the stumbling male Scott spoke, “Remember, Curate nisi sanetur auxilio crescere incipiat and don’t let anything distract you, Allura.”
