Description

Darius Grimlocke

Image

Image
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Grade: College Freshman
Race: Demon
Type: A
Weapon: Shadow Scythe

Abilities:
Shadow Manipulation- Mastered
Like most demons can, Darius has the ability to manipulate shadows and give them form.
Black Fire- Mastered
Much like a fire-user, Darius can manipulate black flames. However, while they still burn, they are not actually flames. They are shadows, and so do not leave any scars or traces of burning. In a more aesthetic sense, these black flames can also be very beautiful.
Scythe of Shadows: Summoning- Average
Darius can summon a scythe made of shadows at will. It is also called the Shadow Scythe.
Scythe of Shadows: Use- Below Average
A scythe made completely of shadow given form. Although made this way, it feels as if it were an ordinary scythe, except for the fact that it can also be combined with the Black Fire to create the Black Shadow Scythe.
Black Shadow Scythe: Summoning- Poor
Created by combining the Shadow Scythe with the Black Fire, the Black Shadow Scythe is constantly engulfed in flames of shadow.
Black Shadow Scythe: Use- Weak
A very powerful scythe surrounded in Black Fire. At a mastered level, the flames can be concentrated to certain parts of the scythe for a sharper, burning edge.

Weaknesses:
Black Fire
- Can only burn things that are organic/living. Will pass harmlessly through anything man-made or non-organic. (ie, steel, polyester, plastic, etc)
- May burn the user if handled incorrectly
Shadow Manipulation
- Depends directly on the user's imagination: The shadows are a mirror of what the user envisions. If they do not envision every detail, then the shadow may seem warped and unrealistic.
- Depends directly on the user's strength of will: Without a strong will, the shadow will dissipate into nothingness (or back to what ever shadow it had originally been). With a weak will, the shadow will become wispy and have little form. A strong will will create a stronger, more realistic form.
- Depends directly on the user's energy: Darius can manipulate shadows only as long as his energy can last. A tired Darius won't be able to manipulate as much as a well-rested Darius.
Scythe of Shadows: Summoning
- A failed summon will lead to wisps of smoke and a lot of lost energy.
Scythe of Shadows: Use
- The Scythe must be maintained by the user's strength of will and a medium amount of energy. Once a user doesn't have enough energy to maintain the Scythe's form, it simply dissipates back into harmless shadow.
Black Shadow Scythe: Summoning
- A failed summon will not only lead to a lot of smoke and a heapload of lost energy, but the user will also become severely burned.
Black Shadow Scythe: Use
- The Black Shadow Scythe must be maintained by an iron will and incredibly large amounts of energy.
- The user is always at risk of severely burning themselves, even at a mastered level.
- Once all energy to maintain the Black Shadow Scythe has been expended, the scythe itself simple dissipates into harmless shadow. However, the Black Fire will almost always burn the user (and anyone within close proximity) before dissipating.

Signature ability: Black Fire
Race characteristics: The only type of demon, they do not have wings like some people think. They have a good amount of strength and heightened senses. They are good fighters when it comes to darkness and shadows. The night is often their friend. Most of the time they are cunning or deceitful.

Personality

Personality: Darius is sexy and he knows it. Since he is often mistaken for an incubus, he simply thinks, 'why not?' and goes along with it just to trick people. Deceitful and cunning to the core, he loves to play pranks and trick people. He is also slightly narcissistic. He likes being the 'cool' kid, so he often puts up a lot of fronts. Because of this, he often tends to look down on others, although he usually feels bad about it later. He hates stupidity, but likes simplicity. He has a secret love for video games, namely dating sims. He takes a lot of things seriously, and isn't really the type to joke around.

Likes:
-Cats
-Combat
-Using the Black Fire
-Tricking people

Dislikes:
-Yelling
-The color pink
-Dogs
-Poor table manners
-Pain

Fears:
-Losing his Guardian
-Betrayal
-Never making friends

Strengths:
-Strong strength of will
-Very good-looking
-Intensely loyal to those he trusts
-Charismatic and cunning

Weaknesses:
-Deceitful
-Doesn't trust easily
-Often looks down on others
-Hates to socialize

Best character trait: If one should earn Darius's trust, he will become fiercely protective and loyal of them. He would even give his life for them.

"Jason, It seems you have a visitor. Uh your hand." Sam took out some bandages out of her pocket and wrapped them around Jason's hand which strangely enough had dried blood on it. The succubi eyed the new girl who didn't even bother to learn Jason's name beforehand. "Dok wve nek tos spose tos hur?" Sam asked Jason in anchient Incubi while finishing the wrapping.

Jason hadn't opened his good eye to see this new person and upon hearing Sam's question his left eye couldn't help but open, but floating before them was a young succubi who he knew only as BookWorm. This name was most likely ment as an insult to her but looked to be an accurate discription of her. He placed two fingers over his right eye and whispered, "Doji." With this he opened his right eye an scanned over this new girl again.

"Did you need something BookW- I mean Heather. By the way my name's Jason, not Golden Boy." He turned his attention away from the girl an toward the crowed. "So sad, someone writes something in blood and everyone assumes that it was BLOOD. Now Heather, what does a pretty succubi like you want with an Incubi like me?" Jason asked while hearing the scoffs of his two minions and while being handed list of dormmates.

Jason drifted down to the alumni wall and put the dorm rooms over the dried blood. "Okay everyone... Everyone!... Shut Up! The dorms are as following, well these are the only ones I'm gonna read-
Room 100: Heather Paker and Rei Lic'tre

Kiran listened to the voice dictating roommates. His was someone called 'Darius Grimlocke'. He knew that name. He was sure he did. It shrieked 'pureblood'. Now, if only he could remember what the guy looked like. He was so lost in thought that he almost didn't catch what Mikala said. He heard the last couple of words and assumed she was asking for his name. He looked about at the students milling about for a second before standing up, dusting himself off and opening his left eye, looking at Mikala with both aqua spheres for the first time. He tugged his black hood down lower over his head.Ā

"Oh, sorry. My bad," he said softly, smiling a bit. "I can be a ditz sometimes. My name is Kiran. Kiran Nevaidos. It's Greek. At least, partly. Anyways, it was a pleasure meeting you, Mikala." The smile grew a fraction as he finished the sentence. He liked meeting new, friendly people very much. Even if they didn't end up being good friends. It was still a good experience, nonetheless. Despite this, he was in no hurry to meet with his roommate. He swore he knew the name. It rang a bad bell.Ā

With all the nonchalance he could muster, Kiran slid his gaze from Makila to the area behind her and off to the side, scanning the crowd. And then- there he was. Darius Grimlocke. No, Prince Darius Grimlocke. When Kiran saw him, he knew. It all came back. One word remained at the front of his mind: Jackass. He wasn't sure what he was, but if he had to guess, he'd say demon. It was hard to tell, but Kiran was a perceptive sort, and he'd grown up around a demon quite similar to Darius, as far as he knew the guy.Ā

He quickly directed his eyes back to Mikala, trying to forget Darius for the time being. "If you want to go meet your roommate now, I don't want to keep you or anything," he said genuinely.Ā

"Lok Jasun, wodn'otus lakk unds Incubus fakus." A red furred rat spoke in BLOOD speak to another with bits of cloth and a tiny wooden mask on its head. "Heja ginga suun voil." The masked rat and his friend went down a vent and landed outside of the pureblood and misfits room. Both morphed into humans and they each pulled out vials full of blood.

They both painted a mural around a single word, "False" In the mural there were pictures of vampire and winged demons which resembled Incubi and the all were running inside of a large castle like building. In the corner of the picture people with spears and crossbows ran toward the castle. The masked BLOOD sniffed the air and sprinted away leaving his friend. "J- Ja- Jas-!" The remaining blood yelled in horror as Jason rounded the corner and even climbed back out of the building in the vent.

"Hunters will arrive and False. Idiots are leaving them to much to go on. A little mystery never hurt." Jason muttered and erased the False from above the door. "This will make my year far more exciting." He laughed and quickly escaped before the guardian came back with a professor. "I don't see how they're tying a false Incubi to the hunters return here. What will they do without my incite." Jason smiled and moved his way back to the alumni wall.

"Your cute when you go crazy. Eh?!" Jason's magic was failing him, making him weaker and weaker by the second. "Damn Irunar. Well if your gonna be one of us, I have to advise you to stick by me or buy a rosette stone for BLOODS speak. With a crack of the neck multiple BLOODS appeared holding masks of all variety's.

"Take your pick, one of the 8 BLOOD lords must have a mask. They aren't exactly flattering but, they get th-." The two were interrupted by a professor. "Put you glasses back on please, Heather?" Jason asked while trying to close his Eye of Irunar. "Oh just show up in a private conversation you old perv." Jason prodded the professor with both eyes closed.

"Heather, I am going to be blind for the next hour. Would you mind guiding me around?" Jason asked with his hands stretched out distracting the professor while the BLOODS disappeared. "I will show you around the BLOOD base later, after we find out what the teacher wants." Jason whispered to a nearby pillar while listening to people snicker at him. I wonder what became of that guy that got his hallway tagged with a humans blood? Jason rambled as he bumped into things.

_____________(Somewhere in Hunter's Paradise)______________

After days of torture a werewolf hadn't relieved himself of the location of the academy of supernatural beings. "Look, I don't want to do this the hard way. Oh wait yes I do, bring out the pup!" Victor screamed and put on his silver hand claws. The baby werewolf turned into a tiny fur ball dog squealing for its mother and crying over the sight of its father chained up. "Start cutting from the tail up." Victor grinned and tossed a claw at another hunter.

"Wait! I only went to the college for a year, but is located in the Valley of The Forge. The only way inside in by looking like you belong there." The werewolf bargained for his pups life before getting betrayed by Victor with a silver claw to the stomach. "Sir what do we do with the puppy?" A female hunter asked while scratching under its chin.

"How old do you think that pup is? A year old at least, which makes him 15 in human years? Sophomore, eh?" Mr.Fuuton devised a plan to plague the boys mind with the idea that the staff at the college murdered his family. This would take a few day's with the right deception and torture, which was right up Victor's alley. But before they could make this plan work they must report to the Hunter's leader, Lady Leanne.

Giving a little wave to Mikala as she left, Kiran sighed looked about. His roommate was no longer outside. By logic, he was most likely at his morning class or... in their dorm. Kiran sighed again, a more agitated one. His original plan had been to check out the dorm and at least find his way to it before class. Maybe it was no longer an option. Maybe. Then again, Darius could have been in his class. Hardly noticing, his left eye slowly shut out of habit. He tugged on his hood, as he was so prone to doing, as he slipped inside the school, joining a new crowd of students. It couldn't hurt to check the dorm, right? Maybe put his bag away? And besides, Kiran wanted the side without the windows on it. He had a... thing with windows. Mirrors too. He shook his head and kept it down. He didn't dare walk too fast, for fear he'd run into someone. So, he maneuvered around as quickly yet unnoticeably as he could.Ā

It took him some time to find his dorm, partly because he forgot what number it was ("210? No... 211? Dammit!") for a bit, but also because he kept getting lost. He'd end up in a completely different hallway from where he intended. It was even starting to frustrate him. I'm freaking terrible with this kind of stuff... How the hell did I get over here? Damn! How hard is it to find my freaking dorm?

At long last (at least it seemed that way to poor, uncoordinated Kiran) he found it: 201. Yeah. That was it. Flushing with relief, his left eye opened and he took down his hood as he peeked into the room... only to have his stomach drop fifty feet. Lo and behold, it was Darius. And some other guy (who didn't look too good) with him. Well, to hell with that mission. Hood up, eye closed, hands in his pocket, Kiran turned on his heels and went right back down that hallway. Psssh the dorm could wait.Ā It was time for his class anyway, wasn't it?

A small voice whispered in the back of his head, Hey, dumbass. You don't have classes today. Oh crap. Really? he thought to himself. What day is it today...? Shite. Kiran exhaled, exasperated, and turned around, his bag dragging across the floor. He trudged back to his room, took a deep breath, and stepped inside. He kept his eye away from Darius and stepped over to a bed by the wall, on the opposite side of the room as the window. He chucked his bag on the bed. Maybe, if I don't say anything, he won't notice. He'll keep talking to his friend of whatever, and I'll just leave and find something to do. Yeah. I'll just take a few things out... and be on my way. Keeping his back to the two, Kiran sighed softly and unzipped the small, black duffel bag. He rooted around for a moment, not sure what he was looking for. His hand found his katana, secured within its sheath. He felt along the sheath for a second before pulling out a rather large book. It was the Odyssey, written in Greek. The cover was old and weathered, and he'd read the epic many a time, but he never found it boring. As soon as he found a quiet place, he was gonna sit and read-

Wait a second. A thought struck Kiran. This was his goddam room. Why was he leaving? To hell with Darius! He could read wherever he damn well pleased. He smiled slightly. Why the hell was he so wired. Screw it. Kiran shifted his bag off his bed and sat on it cross-legged. He opened the book and began reading the Greek words, becoming raptured by the epic as he had so many times, partly tuning out all else.Ā

(Get ready for the most awkward post ever)

It was hard to keep himself from looking up from his book at his roommate. Not because Darius was supposedly attractive, but because Kiran was curious as to what he was doing. He was rifling through his dresser and eventually pulled out something. Kiran couldnā€™t see what it was, because he didnā€™t want to draw attention to himself by looking. So, he kept his eyes on his book as much as possible until Darius left the room. Immediately, he closed the book, not concerned about losing his place like usual, stood up, and stretched his arms. Now was as good a time as any to check out the school. Learn his classroom locations and such. Before he left, he took a look at the sleeping guy in Dariusā€™ bed. After blinking a couple times, he tugged on his hood, tucked The Odyssey under his arm, and left his room and eventually the dormitories.

One of the first rooms he came upon in the main building was the video game clubā€™s room. He knew he wasnā€™t in the club, but he liked knowing where everything was and what it looked like. Even if it would take him a while, in a school this huge. He poked his head in first, and to his surprise, found Darius, of all people. Even though his back was to Kiran, he could tell who it was. Who wouldnā€™t? Feelingā€¦ sneaky, he glided along the floor until he stood directly behind Darius. He obviously hadnā€™t been detectedā€¦ yet. Darius was too wrapped up in his game. The gameā€¦ now that was the weirdest part of the past few minutes. Kiran squinted at the screen from behind Dariusā€™ shoulder, where he was hovering. Ying Yang Ultra Boy's Love. What. The actual fuck. Did he just read. He wasnā€™t even afraid that Darius would discover him. He was too wrapped up in his own thoughts. The fuck...? He squinted his aqua eye at the screen. After reading the title over and over again and watching Darius play for a few seconds... he just couldnā€™t help it. He stood back, covered his mouth with his hand, and started laughing. Of course, the hand did little to muffle the sound.IT WAS JUST SO FUNNY HE COULDNā€™T CONTROL HIMSELF! So, he stood there laughing at Darius, not really caring at all about the reprecussions.

Darius Grimlocke

Darius had dug up some paper and a pen, writing out each branch and path as he progressed through the game. He got so in to it that he never realized that someone entered the room.
"Sebastian! You know I'm not...not like that!"

"Is that what you want me to think, Alan? Truly?"

"I don't know what I want you to think!"

"Then don't think at all. Stay with me...."

Darius sat up in his chair as things started to get heated in the game. "Damn, they made this one pretty graphic..." Darius muttered to himself. He leaned forward, intent on what was happening in the game. He had a bag of potato chips, eating them one by one. Then, he heard it. The laughter. Darius froze in his seat, completely stupefied for a moment. Mentally, he was freaking out.

What do I do?? Did they see me? Did they see it? Wait...how come I didn't see it before?! The golden escape key! Yes! ALL OR NOTHING! PRESS IT NOOOOWWW!

Frantically, Darius quickly pressed the escape key, closing the program, then stood up to cover the screen behind his back. He was stupefied for a second time when he saw the source of the laughter. It was him...the misfit he'd been roomed with.

WHAT THE HELL?! THIS GUY?!?

Growling, Darius did the first thing that came to his mind; he tackled him, jumping over his seat in rage to do so. They crumbled to the ground, and as Darius sat on top of him he summoned the Black Fire to his hands. His fists covered in the Black Fire, he held one up as if to punch him.

"You saw nothing." He growled, "You will tell no one, and you will forget everything that happened here." He snarled, his red eyes gleaming. "Got it, Misfit?" Darius's threat would have been, well, threatening, except for one thing.

For some reason, the computer Darius had been using was programmed to restart whatever it had been doing ten minutes after the escape key had been pressed. So, right on cue, as soon as Darius made his threat, his video game came right back on....to a nude scene between the main characters, a black-haired boy with yellow eyes, and a white-haired one with light blue eyes.

"Love me until dawn..." A voice from the game only made things more awkward.

In shock, Darius's fire instantly dissipated. He looked down, horrified, only to realize that the misfit and one of the main characters on the game both had white hair. And he was sitting. On him. "Waaah!" Darius yelled, scrambling to get off him.

"It's n-not what you think! Really!" Darius started to back away, heading towards the door. "But anyway, you didn't see anything, alright?? ALRIGHT?!?" Without waiting for an answer, he ran out. He ran out into the courtyard and stopped there, leaning against a nearby wall. After a moment, he slid down to the ground, still leaning on the wall with his face facing towards it.

It's over. My life is officially over. Damn it all!

"Really? Its not like I don't think you go on dates, its just that this is going to be my first real date." Jason was astonished that it would be that easy to win her over, when suddenly Jason bumped into Professor Bernhard. "Hey mister Bernhard, sorry about earlier." Jason brushed past the man before he could make a comment to Jason or Heather. "So Monday we all start classes, that will be exciting. But probably don't have to tell you that, do I?" Jason joked with his newest friend as they made there way back to the dormitory, which was only a few minutes away.

Upon arriving Jason left her at her dorm and proceeded to his own. "Hey I'll see you tomorrow, but try to get some sleep okay?" Jason laughed as he walked away and down to the male levels of the dorms. "Who was it that was suppose to be my dorm mate?" Jason asked himself as he went into the dorm marked 200. "Oh yeah, Lucas Ellisor or something." Jason laughed at the idea of having a dorm mate and moving the BLOOD rituals to his parents house in the Louisiana bayou. "This gonna suck." He muttered as his key turned in the lock and he saw the familiar paint style and bed frames.

On Jason's bed was a note that was addressed from the dean. Jason, as my nephew you are bound by certain obligations to this school. I require you to take care of some problems with two dorm mates named Kiran Nevaidos and Darius Grimlocke. Jason read and could only sigh, thinking about what his father would say if he refused this assignment. Jason left his room and went to the game room to see a guy sitting there playing on his computer. Out of no where Darius just started wailing on the other kid screaming 'You didn't see anything'. "What are you doing?" Jason laughed whilst hovering in the doorway, he looked at a game that was being played.

Love me until dawn... It said causing Jason to burst out laughing. "Oh my gosh, you guys really do need peer-mediation if your beating each other up over this. I'm just going to shut this down before something else bad happens." Jason hit the Ctrl-Alt-Del command keys to pause everything on screen. "Now do you guys have a problem with how my uncle assigned you your rooms?" Jason sat down in one of the chairs in the room.

((I personally am not done laughing on the inside. Kiran is much more decent though))

Kiran's laugher was abruptly ceased by a tackle that damn near knocked the breath out of his lungs. He flailed out instinctively, but he remained pinned to the ground. "You saw nothing," he heard Darius growl at him. "You will tell no one, and you will forget everything that happened here. Got it, Misfit?" Oh no he didn't! It normally took a lot to actually piss off Kiran. But this guy... this guy was breaking records. A scowl had already taken over his features and he was very prepared to spit right in that fucker's face, when suddenly:

"Love me until dawn... As if things couldn't get any more 'what the fuck'.

All of a sudden, Darius' rage seemed to vanish, replaced by a sputtering embarrassment. Kiran could understand why. The whole situation was just... He actually started to feel bad for Darius, and bad that he'd walked in on him. With a startled cry, Darius scrambled up, exclaiming, "It's n-not what you think! Really! But anyway, you didn't see anything, alright?? ALRIGHT?!?" And then, without another word, he ran out the door. Kiran stood up and brushed himself off, pulling his back up over his platinum hair. It was only then that he noticed the other person in the room. That incubus from earlier... Jason! Yeah. Jason. That was it.Ā

"Now do you guys have a problem with how my uncle assigned you your rooms?"

Kiran went over to the computer, using Task Manager to close the program. He took the disk out of the drive and replaced it into the case. Then, he answered. "No, I mean... I'll..." Kiran waved his hand back and forth dismissively. "I'll do something. Just... don't worry," he finished with a smile as he turned and left the room, book and case under his arm.Ā

His sister always said that he was good at finding people. She called it "sixth sense". His brothers had said he'd make a good stalker. Kiran didn't even think he was good at finding stuff. But whatever.Ā It took him a good five minutes to find Darius, not bothering to check their dorm. He was outside, slumping against a wall. Kiran let a smile come to his face as he approached him from behind again.Ā

"Now what would people say," he began. "If they saw you like this?" He leaned against the wall and continued, tapping Darius on the shoulder with the game in its case. "You left this behind. I don't think you'd have appreciated it getting stolen or anything. So here." If he couldn't make friends with his roommate, fine. It couldn't hurt to try though. "Sorry I laughed..." he added, mumbling.Ā

Victor heard a bit of snarling and happy barking coming from a sack hanging from his back. "Oh yeah, this is my plan." Victor said while pulling the werewolf puppy out of the sack and cradling it like a baby. "Shut up, its like a normal puppy. I love little puppy's." He said as the baby licked his nose and started to chew on its tail. "Sir do you want us to throw that thing in a cage until its retraining is complete?" Another hunter asked holding out a shock collar. "No its only a little puppy. I love puppies." Victor held the dog close to his chest and looked back at the shocked faces of the other hunters.

"So yeah, I'm gonna train the puppy to hate the other supernatural and for him to let us in the school. That's where my end of the plan is completed, or just Phase one as I like to call it." Victor left the room before they had time to insult him or his new pet as they might normally do. After this he left the building and headed over to his families house where the retraining programs would be. "Okay little guy, what should we do tomorrow behavior modification, or memory replacement?" He asked the tiny wolf who still was biting at his tail.

"Alright, so I just gonna be in my room with the door locked." Jason said quietly and backed away from the seemingly gay couple before scurrying back to his room. "That looked really awkward for you, Jason." Sam popped up behind Jason scaring the daylights out of him. "Oh its only you." Jason sighed and walked back over to his bed intent on lying down, but when he got in the bed there was a soft body under the covers. "Oh Carin, your in my bed. This isn't creepy at all." Jason said turning away from the succubus and toward Sam who was leaning against the bed.

"My parent's really should have build three bed's instead of just making us sleep in the same bed when we were young." Jason reminisced to his early years where he slept with two girls that were only two years older then him. "Are you gay?" Sam asked wondering why a nineteen year old man wouldn't jump at the chance to sleep with two girl at the same time. "Haven't we had this conversation before?" Jason sighed and turned back toward Carin who was already hugging his shirt and sleeping.

"Hey Sam, I don't want to tell Carin, but tomorrow I have a date with that girl that we met today." Jason sighed as Sam climbed into the two person bed. "Well she's gonna find out one way or another, your only delaying the inevitable." Sam said clutching the other side of his shirt and fell asleep. Jason sighed a last time and drifted off into a deep sleep.

"I don't care..." Kiran had to stifle a giggle. Yeah. Bullshit. Although he hadnā€™t pegged Darius as the type, it was kind of obvious a nerve had been struck. Darius, being a pureblood of all things, should most definitely care what people think. Appearances were supposed to be important to them. Right? At least, thatā€™s what Kiran had come to conclude. The case was taken from him. Darius seemed bent on not showing his face. Kiran smiled softly. Looks like someone had feelings. Who wouldā€™ve guessed?

Lo and behold, when Darius stood up, he wiped his eyes. Kiranā€™s open eye widened. He was... crying? King Heartless Pureblood was crying? Well if that wasnā€™t a shocker... Kiran found him looking up into the red eyes of his roommate, neither saying a word. He was wondering what Darius was thinking, though. After a long moment, he muttered a quick "Thanks,ā€ and turned away, walking off in the directions of the dorms. After a second or two, he abruptly stopped and turned his head slightly. "I don't need the sympathy of a Misfit. And I don't care what you think." Then, he continued walking away.

Anger flared in the pit of Kiranā€™s stomach. YOU UNGRATEFUL LITTLE SHIT! I HOPE YOUR STUPID GAME GETS SET ON FIRE YOU ASS! Kiran turned away from the jackass, walking back to the main building. He wasnā€™t done checking out the classrooms. It took all his strength not to run over to Darius and chuck his book at the back of his damn head. He blew a strand of hair from his face and sighed. Some people... Kiran was usually a nice person. But with this guy... it seemed to be his goal to be a complete asshole. Darius reminded him of his brother, Canaan. Except not as violent. Nope. Not as violent. But still a complete ass. Close enough. This was going to be a fantastic year.

"Well...Darius is the type not to act so kindly around...around misfits. He can be rather mean, actually. If he says anything to you...please don't take it seriously. He's really quite harmless, you know...." Atryom gave a nervous smile, apologetic maybe?"A-Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. I'm sorry I bothered you. I'll leave you to your day now, excuse me. I have to go wake up Darius..."He left, and Kiran surpressed a laugh. The idiot wasnā€™t even awake yet. His smile faded. Idiot? Or just misunderstood? Angry Morning Kiran was starting to wear off, replaced by Drowsy Thoughtful Kiran. For the time being anyway. Darius had been rather... bipolar yesterday. ā€Thank you. Youā€™re trash.ā€Although it confused Kiran, he could understand the confliction. Itā€™s not like he himself fancied interacting with a pureblood either, for that matter. They were regal, refined, egotistical, ā€œsuperiorā€. Stuck up assholes. Except his father. He was pretty chill compared to most of his demon hierarchial friends. After all, heā€™d gone through so much trouble to have a Misfit child. He had to be pretty accepting. Thatā€™s why Kiran always admired his dad. He wasnā€™t a pompous, close-minded aristocrat. Well, he was still techinically an aristocrat, but he wasnā€™t the former two. He might look pretty intimidating, but he was actually a pretty loose and funny guy, once you got past his instinctive professionalism. Point being, purebloods were mainly douchebags. His dad was just an exception.

He left the bathroom to remember heā€™d left his book back at the dorm. Kiran sighed. He needed the book, in case he got bored. Reading and eating was no big deal. In fact, he didnā€™t even feel all that hungry. He never ate much anyways, being half dead and all. So, he maneuvered the stream of students going the opposite direction. He reached his room and walked right in. Kiran was surprised to see Darius, getting ready to go to breakfast. He looked irritated. Stressed out. Could it still be about yesterday? Probably not. Purebloods were like that. Always pissed off about something new. Kiran grabbed his book up off the floor where heā€™d tossed it last night. ā€œYou donā€™t look too happy,ā€ he commented, not really bent on making conversation or not. It couldnā€™t hurt to try and get on the guyā€™s good side, even if he wanted to be an ass all the time. No harm in trying, right?

Kiran was immediately fixed with what was definitely the second scariest glare heā€™d ever seen and he involuntarily tightened the grip on his book as Darius began his rant. Kiran didnā€™t bother to respond verbally, so he settled for keeping his words to himself. "What gave you that idea? Do I look pissed to you?ā€ Quite. ā€Goddamn misfits...why can't everyone be the same?" Kiran furrowed his brows. What... what did he just say? After that, things just kept coming. Angry words spouted from Darius as though he didnā€™t give a damn what the hell he said; he just wanted to get it out.

"Do you have any idea what kind of shit I have to deal with as a pureblood?ā€ No, please do tell. ā€ I have to be the smartest, strongest mother fucker out there, I can't 'consort' with certain kinds of people,ā€ Iā€™d say thatā€™s pretty clear. ā€I have to act a certain way at all times, and on top of all that, heaven forbid I have any sort of fun whatsoever. Seriously, its ridiculous....and you goddamn misfits, what do you have to do? Nothing.ā€ Bullshit. ā€No one expects anything of you.ā€ Bullshit. ā€ You live your life freely,ā€ Bullshit. ā€without any responsibility or care in the world,ā€ Oh look. More bullshit. ā€ you betray others, hurt them, and leave scars....laughing it off all the while. It's disgusting." Kiran frowned. If only you knew, asswipe. The more Kiran looked at Darius, the more he began to feel that he wasnā€™t entirely there. Like he was thinking not of the present, but of events from long ago. There were slim tendrils of what appeared to be shadows curling about Dariusā€™ tightly clenched fists. A miniscule spatter of blood dripped from them, but Kiran was pretty sure he didnā€™t care. After a few tense moments, Darius finally seemed to have calmed himself. "...Sorry. I didn't mean to ramble like that. You probably didn't want to hear any of that either....misfit." He sounded sad. Sad and empty. Kiran felt a twinge of pity for the other guy, even though he knew he shouldnā€™t. When his eyes met Dariusā€™ once more, the bloody red was fading from defiance to normalcy. That was a good sign.

Darius selected a long-sleeved shirt from his dresser and proceeded to change right in front of Kiran. Before he could look away out of courtesy, he caught sight of Dariusā€™ back: a marred canvas of abuse. Lacerations and angry marks of all sorts covered the skin, and Kiran found that he couldnā€™t rip his eyes away. He was curious. Where the hell did those marks come from? A fight maybe? But some looked like theyā€™d been there longer than others... multiple fights? Something in his gut told Kiran that this was not so, and his features softened. Abuse, perhaps? Without meaning to, he thought of his own father. The only one of the four children heā€™d ever hit before was Canaan, and that was because he was a trouble maker and deserved every slap he got. But Kiran hadnā€™t pegged Darius as a mischeivous sort...

Darius turning back around interrupted his thoughts. "I'm going to breakfast, or class, or whatever. Sorry again for...you know. Just forget it happened," he said curtly before leaving the room, and Kiran stood there alone. Instead of going to the cafeteria himself, he sat down on his bed and set his book aside. He pulled his bag to his feet and rifled through it before gripping another, slimmer book. He pulled it out and looked at it. It was worn and starting to come apart at the seams. On it, scribbled in permenant marker, was a series of characters that made up a name: ĪšĪ¹ĻĪ±Ī½. Kiran in Greek.

He opened it up and leafed through the semi-tattered pages. It was his journal. But he never wrote normally; a few words in English or Greek here or there, describing important events. He took the pen from between the pages and scribbled down in the naturally-italicized hadnwriting of his: Darius rant. With that, he replaced the pen and was about to close the journal when he caught a glimpse of the picture that was taped to the inside cover. He flipped the other pages over to look at it, and he smiled. It was a photograph of four children.

The first, on the left, was obviously the oldest and most mature of the four. He stood with his back straight, his black hair was straight and immaculate, and his red eyes carried a certain seriousness and adult-like disposition although he looked no more than eight or nine years old. Eon. Next to him was a shorter boy, with golden-orange hair and eyes of a similar shade. His arms were crossed and on his face was a large grin. His scarlet eyes were smouldering with laughter. Canaan. Second to last was a girl, the only female in the photo. Her hands were folded delicately on her lap. She wore a big sunhat from which twin pink ponytails cascaded past her knees. She looked as though she were in mid-giggle, and her cheeks were red with glee. Karne. And last in the picture was a small boy, no more than four years old. His hair was plaitnum and a series of red lines criss-crossed about under his left eye. He looked at the camera with wide, almost confused eyes. The boy looked transluscent, as though he were just an apparition instead of a physical form. Kiran smiled. Me. He was more ghostly than demonic as a younger child; he didnā€™t start showing up in pictures until he was at least twevle months old. Kiran slowly closed the journal and replaced it back in the bag, then sighed. Time to get to the cafeteria, he supposed. He picked up his book, tucked it under his arm, pulled up his hood again, and left the room.

He eventually found his way to the cafeteria, following crowds of stragglers and such. He wasnā€™t very hungry. It wasnā€™t unusual for him to skip a meal or two a day. Kiranā€™s eyes scanned the large, crowded room. His eyes rested on a familiar face. Mikala. He smiled. Usually he would sit alone, but he might as well attempt to make some friends while he was here. He maneuvered around the occasional student until he reached her. He sat down in a chair next to her. ā€œGood morning Mikala,ā€ he greeted the girl heā€™d met before.

"Why didn't you tell me your sister had a cat?" Kiran blinked a couple times at Mikala. Well, the subject never really came up... He opened his mouth to respond, but before he or his sister could, the kitten crawled over Karneā€™s shoulder, down her arm, and into her hands, changing shape as it went. By the time it reached Karneā€™s outstretched, upward-faced palms, it wasnā€™t a cat anymore. Standing in Karneā€™s hands was a little girl. A rather short little girl. She wasnā€™t much taller than the cat sheā€™d formally been. Her height was almost laughable. Actually, it was. She looked more like a little doll than a living creature. Two feline ears peaked from short lavender hair and a similarly shaded tail slowly lashed about behind her. Naniā€™s eyes regarded Mikala with curiousity, and she tilted her head to one side before speaking.

ā€œMy name is Nani, and Iā€™m Karneā€™s guardian. Iā€™m a girl,ā€ the little noble said simply. Kiran almost laughed at how blank Naniā€™s face was. She was usually like this when meeting new people. But otherwise, she was a flurry of emotions and attitude. He wasnā€™t sure what her deal was with strangers. Cat thing maybe? He had no idea. Nani still confused him, and heā€™d known her since his early childhood. In all that time, he never questioned why she hadnā€™t appeared to grow an inch. Hadnā€™t dared. Though small, she could be quite scary when she wanted to be. Kiran blinked again as he thought of something else. Since when could Nani speak English?!? Then again, being as old as she was... it was a little more plausible than Karne speaking it. He mentally shook his head. Wasnā€™t a big deal. He was confusing himself, anyways.

Idly letting his gaze wander while Nani stood in Karneā€™s hands, analyzing Mikala, he saw an odd sight through the crowd of students: Darius. Well, that wasnā€™t the odd sight entirely. He lay unconscious (or maybe just simply sleeping; Kiran couldnā€™t quite tell) with his head upon a table. Kiran furrowed his brows in curiosity. Why the bloody hell is he sleeping at a time like this? He didnā€™t look too hot either, a tad... unwell from where Kiran was standing. It unnerved him to see proud, classy, uppity Darius such a way. It was weird. So, despite the awkward situation that would surely follow, Kiran made up his mind to... investigate.

ā€œSā€™cuse me,ā€ he mumbled to the girls as he walked off, maneuvering as best he could through the other, generally taller students who werenā€™t seated at the moment for some reason or another. Upon reaching Dariusā€™ side, Kiran confirmed that there was indeed something wrong. Darius was most definitely unwell. His lips were moving ever so slightly, as though muttering something in his sleep. One eyebrow raised, Kiran firmly shook Dariusā€™ shoulder, prepared to do so again if he didnā€™t wake the first time.

ā€œDarius? Wake up. You donā€™t... look too good there. Whatā€™s wrong?ā€ he ventured as far as speaking to his roommate, in case he wasnā€™t roused simply by physical contact.

"I'd completely forgotten that-" Atryom seemed surprised, perhaps by the fact that he forgot about getting his own food. But the even more surprising event was a loud, crack-like sound that rang out over the moment of silence. The fox turned first, staring at the two plausible suspects of the sound. One of which had a frightening Black Fire within his grasp. "Excuse me, Rei, but I'm afraid I have some business to attend to." Atryom was reacting to this occurrence, making Rei wonder if he knew those two. "I look forward to when we meet again." With the last word Atryom ran over to the other two, leaving her.

She sat, simply watching as he got between the two, yelling at the one he seemed darker, colder even. Darius, that was the name Atryom yelled while confronting him. And Darius refuted, demanding his friend get out of the way, and then spoke about making the misfit kneel. This was what caught Rei the most, Darius was a pureblood, and the one behind Atryom was a misfit. She gritted her teeth in disgust, her mind was already set in stone that nearly all purebloods were horrible creatures. But to think they would even act out in the middle of an Academy's cafeteria was just despicable. The pieces of Darius and Atryom's 'friendship' were falling into place as well.

That was when Atryom's own words confirmed it, he was in fact that purebloods guardian. Rei, covering her left eyes as she forced her fingers to hold her forehead, started to beome aggitated. Nobles could be more sympathetic to misfits, but if they were guardians, they might as well have been useless as a sheild for anyone but Purebloods. No matter how much of a friend they became to one, most would sell out that 'friend' at a masters order.

Her consentration snapped as Darius yelled out, his blackened fists launching into Atryom's chest to push him back. "Atryom!" Rei yelped quietly, jumping out of her chair, and began to run for the confrontation without thinking. Purebloods have always been cruel and twisted, but to their own guardians? Her movements were swift, as she had made it to the last table before getting to Atryom and Darius before she froze.

Atryom began to change as he lifted Darius from the ground. It nearly looked like all sanity was being removed from himself as his eyes seemed to become crazed. "D-demon.." She muttered to herself. Rei knew that Atryom was a demon class when she saw his ears, but the fact never really struck in until this. Even a noble can be dark at heart like the damned purebloods. Demons were always full of trickery, letting people believe they were harmless before striking. It was because of her in depth knowledge of this, Rei could not help but begin wondering if Atryom was just trying to lead her into a trap. He was a monster, every little piece of him at this moment.

The first time his voice rang out within this transformation, all other sounds died to Rei. Her thoughts began to take over the ambience, neutralizing the rest of his words. She could only watch as he continued to hold up Darius. She could only feel fear, this man had been toying with her. He was no different from the purebloods after all was he? She was going to be sent back, to the days of pain wasn't she? The pain of the fire gripping him didn't even seem to register across this demon's mind. This sight could only further debilitate Rei in her state of mind.

She could see it, she could physically see that room. Her breath became heavy as she looked around, the cafeteria slowly fading away into the tattered place. She twisted and turned, trying to look every which way until her eyes locked onto the cracked mirror. With the top portion missing, all she could see was a single grin. "You can't escape me" The wicked voice rang out, the strength so overwhelming Rei began to lose consciousness, falling backwards. Laughter rang as the room fell apart, the bright lights of the cafeteria slowly fighting back the room's form.

The voice played over and over in her head. She knew exactly what it was, she knew what that room stood for. She wanted to scream out, the fear inside of her was growing. She didn't want to feel the nothingness that followed being taken over by it. Those question of what happened, what exactly had she done , and how many did she injure when she finally came to? The voice would constantly nag at her mind trying to drive her to the brink of insanity only to leave her with absolutely nothing. She was driven of all emotion, of all feeling, even all of the pain that took place in her life.

She could only picture this schools hallways, painted with crimson. Entrails hung from the ceiling as if some festival ornament for her own private ceremony. The countless faces she has or will seen simply bashed into the walls as a personal decor. Imprints left for an eternity to wail at any that pass through. The ambience of her newest songs would simply be the sound of blood dripping across the intercoms. Rei forced her eyes shut, not wanting to imagine any of this anymore. Whispering to herself hoping to gnaw out the voice from her head.

As everything came back too, Rei was using the end of the table to remain standing. Lightheaded, and dizzy she simply stared. Atryom by this time was already back to normal, and she could not recall just how much time passed for what seemed a matter of seconds. Darius was gone, and the other boy just stood to give chase. Another girl stood before Atryom, she was probably caught in the commotion in some way as well. Awaken Fury had taken effect, none had noticed, but it was there. From what she could see, nothing had occurred. None had watchful eyes on her as of yet, so peace still remained. At least, what little peace there could be. She gulped, trying to push the thoughts of what may have occurred in such a short time if something did happen. She starred at Atryom, trying to catch up, hoping no one took notice of the darkness that appeared and left.

Rei quickly tried to sort through her thoughts. Perhaps Atryom only took that horrible form to stand even ground with a pureblood? But then again, he seemed completely void of emotion during the few seconds she actually saw. But if she thought about it, he did enter this facing the pureblood instead of the Misfit. But, that form, there was no way he was completely innocent in any way. Her head continued filling with buts, she wanted to try and believe Atryom was more like a creepy/innocent/stalker, rather than a horrendous monster that would prey on anything.

Uncertain, and in fear she stepped forward trying to maintain an angry composure. Though, her fear seemed to break as a few tears took to her eyes the closer she got. "You idiot!" She screamed, stomping downwards at his tail. "That face is not worth my songs!" Her voice was angry, but the fear was definitely obvious as her voice trembled. She heard the voice during those moments. She heard the voice of Awaken Fury, and she didn't want it to come back. She didn't want that Atryom to come back either. "Never show that side of you again. Ever!" She wanted to feel that safety again, she liked the idea of having someone join her for Sunday practice, but she wanted that safe feeling back.

She spun to look at the other girl that was near. "You, be my back-up. If he does that again, tug at his ears and I'll pull on his tail!" This time her voice was quieted down to a low cry. "If I see it again, I will kill him myself." Her voice nearly switched to a growl instantly. She didn't want her safety to be breached by someone she was unsure about. But if that feeling was already breached, then she would not allow anything to crumble her inside of the net. "You got that D-O-G?" She spelt out, too frustrated to care if this would anger him, " If you do it again, we will stomp on your tail, and rip your little ears off!" She kept her face from looking near his, somewhat afraid of seeing the crazed eyes once again.

"Alright Arawn you can go eat now if you like. They're serving mixed fruit, bacon, oranges, and various meats: Cooked or otherwise." Arawn jumped chance to eat and relax for a bit. "Thanks Dean have a good day." Arawn started to leave the room when he heard the Dean talk about bacon and then she said "Oh yeah Arawn if you need help, go to see my nephew Jason Black.". Arawn thought "At least know I know who not to get on the wrong side of here.". Arawn was starving for food it took him some time and a whole lot of direction asking but he got there, as he entered he watched as two students looked like they were so close to having a full scale brawl. "I guess this is my kind of school there is not a moment of boredom here." He said with a smirk on his face. Arawn watched as it ended and one of the students left the room not looking so happy. Then he looked over at the breakfast line and watched as he was seconds late. "This is just great better go unpack my bags then." As he turned around he heard more arguing and looked back to see a girl yelling at one of the students who was in the fight. "I think I am going to get use to this school pretty quickly."
