Kiran looked up sharply from the ground as the female voice addressed him. Before him stood a girl with red eyes and long ponytails. He instinctively reached up to cover his still-shut left eye, along with the majority of the red marks. His other aqua eye widened a fraction and he struggled for a response. Initial social awkwardness: engage.Ā

"It's... It's uh... Nothing," he managed to stammer. "It's just irritating me, that's all." Kiran felt his cheeks burning, as often happened when his eye was called into question. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been acting like such a ditz. He removed the hand that covered his left eye and tugged on his hood gently, like a safety blanket or something. The last thing Kiran had wanted was to draw attention to himself and now... now he had some girl coming up to him and asking him about his stupid eye. He bit his lip uncomfortably. What a way to start the day.Ā

Kiran caught Mikala's eyes glance at the marks on his face. It only lasted a split second, but his face burned all the same. He knew he should've been used to it by now but... some things you just can't change. In response to her words, Kiran shrugged slightly.Ā

"I would get an eyepatch, but people would still ask me stuff like, 'How'd you hurt your eye?' and then I'd have to explain to them that my eye is fully functional and that I wear the patch because it bothers me. Which it doesn't do a lot anyways." He paused here, tugging on his dark hood again. "So, it's not a big deal. I should be used to questions like that by now anyhow." He dropped his hand all together and stuck both of them into his sweatshirt pockets, not wanting to look too insecure and self-conscious, though that's how he felt.Ā

"Jason, It seems you have a visitor. Uh your hand." Sam took out some bandages out of her pocket and wrapped them around Jason's hand which strangely enough had dried blood on it. The succubi eyed the new girl who didn't even bother to learn Jason's name beforehand. "Dok wve nek tos spose tos hur?" Sam asked Jason in anchient Incubi while finishing the wrapping.

Jason hadn't opened his good eye to see this new person and upon hearing Sam's question his left eye couldn't help but open, but floating before them was a young succubi who he knew only as BookWorm. This name was most likely ment as an insult to her but looked to be an accurate discription of her. He placed two fingers over his right eye and whispered, "Doji." With this he opened his right eye an scanned over this new girl again.

"Did you need something BookW- I mean Heather. By the way my name's Jason, not Golden Boy." He turned his attention away from the girl an toward the crowed. "So sad, someone writes something in blood and everyone assumes that it was BLOOD. Now Heather, what does a pretty succubi like you want with an Incubi like me?" Jason asked while hearing the scoffs of his two minions and while being handed list of dormmates.

Jason drifted down to the alumni wall and put the dorm rooms over the dried blood. "Okay everyone... Everyone!... Shut Up! The dorms are as following, well these are the only ones I'm gonna read-
Room 100: Heather Paker and Rei Lic'tre
Room 101: Lacey Holt and Mikala Dutch

Room 201: Darius Grimlocke and Kiran Nevaidos

Kiran listened to the voice dictating roommates. His was someone called 'Darius Grimlocke'. He knew that name. He was sure he did. It shrieked 'pureblood'. Now, if only he could remember what the guy looked like. He was so lost in thought that he almost didn't catch what Mikala said. He heard the last couple of words and assumed she was asking for his name. He looked about at the students milling about for a second before standing up, dusting himself off and opening his left eye, looking at Mikala with both aqua spheres for the first time. He tugged his black hood down lower over his head.Ā

"Oh, sorry. My bad," he said softly, smiling a bit. "I can be a ditz sometimes. My name is Kiran. Kiran Nevaidos. It's Greek. At least, partly. Anyways, it was a pleasure meeting you, Mikala." The smile grew a fraction as he finished the sentence. He liked meeting new, friendly people very much. Even if they didn't end up being good friends. It was still a good experience, nonetheless. Despite this, he was in no hurry to meet with his roommate. He swore he knew the name. It rang a bad bell.Ā

With all the nonchalance he could muster, Kiran slid his gaze from Makila to the area behind her and off to the side, scanning the crowd. And then- there he was. Darius Grimlocke. No, Prince Darius Grimlocke. When Kiran saw him, he knew. It all came back. One word remained at the front of his mind: Jackass. He wasn't sure what he was, but if he had to guess, he'd say demon. It was hard to tell, but Kiran was a perceptive sort, and he'd grown up around a demon quite similar to Darius, as far as he knew the guy.Ā

He quickly directed his eyes back to Mikala, trying to forget Darius for the time being. "If you want to go meet your roommate now, I don't want to keep you or anything," he said genuinely.Ā

"You're the melted one!" Lacey exclaims, feebly hitting him across the shoulder with her hand. Obviously, it left no mark whatsoever. Lacey let out a faint whine of despair and started focusing ice magic in her hand, before realizing it and stopping. She gazes blankly, slightly openmouthed at Lucas, her friendly adversary, her mind literally going blank with exhaustion. She swoons a little forwards, but stops herself from falling off the bench, sighing dramatically.

"My magic... it's so much stronger than yours!" She cries indignantly, as loud as her frail body will allow her, sulking away from what she assumes is going to be another sarcastic remark from Lucas. The fiery ice mage gives an angry glare at the cool fire mage. remembering their battle at the end of last year. It was a tie, of course, as Lacey's devastating magic both completely wore her out and weakened Lucas to the point where neither of them could continue fighting. They were sent to the infirmary shortly after, of course, and Lucas was given the 'official' win due to not wiping himself out.

That was when the voice starting reciting dorms for the new year. Lacey vaguely picks up on her own name, Lacey Holt, and found herself paired with a girl named Mi.. something. Mikayla? Mika? She honestly couldn't catch much of it at all. She blinks and rubs her eyes blearily with the palms of her hands, each movement feeling as if it weighs a hundred tons, and underwater. Slow and sluggish.

"Hey... Lucas?" Lacey stammers pathetically. "You gotta... you carry me to... my dorm. M'kay?"

Before allowing him a chance to answer, she gives him a small gentle smile of friendship and leans her face into his ear, asking him if she could borrow some of his life energy. Just enough to give her enough energy to stay awake and greet her roommate, but not enough to impair Lucas in any way. She quickly adds a promise to return it to him the next morning.

"What?" she asked startled and confused. Then that spark lit up in her eyes, as if a lightbulb had been turned on. "Oh yes, my roomate! Goodbye now!" she called over her shoulder, as she rushed away. "Roomate, roomate, rooommmate! she thought, making the words into a little song. Mikala looked around, searching for Lacey. The name was familar, but at the same time, Mikala couldn't focus long enough to even try and remember. Mikala eventually shrugged the matter off. "I should probably check out my dorm.." she said quietly to herself and marched off into the academy. It took Mikala a while but she eventually found her dorm. "Room 101, I can't believe I didn't remember that!" she muttered and opened the door, looking around. It was rather...plain. That would have to be fixed! Mikala noticed she still had her umbrella up, and quickly put it down. "Wouldn't want to bad luck" she hummed to herself. Honestly though, carrying the thing around was a pain in the butt. Mikala sat down on a bed on the right side of the room and decided to see if her roomate would show up. If she didn't, Mikala would simply leave.

Okay, a bad sign. Lucas doesn't seem put off at all. She felt the familiar edge of panic; possibly of some ulterior motive from him. Lucas! They're supposed to be rivals! She still clearly remembers the words of her brother, before he enrolled her into the academy. Never trust a guy, sis. They'll just take advantage of you. Keep to yourself and we'll meet again. From this, Lacey assumes that if she gets involved with a guy, her own brother would be disappointed and leave her. Although washed out, Lacey still noticed the slight twinge of worry cross Lucas's face when she spoke. He then answered her question about Mika... someone who Lacey is unsure of befriending. She then suddenly felt some sort of connection with Lucas and without thinking, she pushed against him, crying out, and then landed with a thump on the ground.

"I-Idiot!" Lacey moans from the ground up. "You weren't supposed to enjoy it!"

White hot anger lashes through her as, unconsciously, a sphere of dark energy forms in her left palm. She cries out and puts it out and ends up glaring fitfully at Lucas.

"You're such... such an idiot!" She cries out, feeling a sudden dizziness overcome her for a brief moment. Feeling furious and confused, she opens the door to the dorm and walks into what is an extremely bland room. She staggers towards one of the beds and plops herself down, groaning in obvious distress. However, this time the pain is from hitting her head on the ground, rather than her natural frailty. That was when, of course, she notices a thin blonde girl on the right side of the room, with an umbrella near her. Something about the girl seemed unsettling to Lacey.

"You're.. M-Mika? My roommate?" Lacey asks, hating how weak her voice sounds. On the other hand, she really was curious about the alleged unstable girl.

The other girl already started to weird Lacey out. There was just something that seemed.... off about her, but Lacey couldn't think of what. Something different. Insane? Maybe, maybe. She doesn't feel like thinking at all, but the girl, Mikala, looks as if she's enjoying herself. More fun being a wizard than a vampire? Lacey is about to open her mouth angrily to explain to Mikala about how weak her body is and how much trouble it is when she hears a sound at the door. A rap. Mikala points towards it with a bemused look on her face.

"Is that yours?"

Who would send me a note? Darius? He eats my pies. Or mayb- oh. Him. The idiot.

Lacey got up but then a wave of dizziness overtook her body, so she lay back down with a defeated moan. Sometimes, she hates that she chose lost magic. She just feels so terrible so much of the time, and the only advantage is that she gets some tall guy who wants to protect her. Oh, and absurdly powerful magic, of course. She already knows she's going to die young; she might be close to that point already. She glances over at Mikala and, with a faint voice, asks if she can go get the note. Her head is absolutely pounding; her body too frail to even take a bump on the head very well. Pain pierces in her head sharply, making Lacey utter a miserable gasp of surprise.

Is it worth it? Is all this power worth it? Worth dying over?

Out of the corner of her eye Mikala caught something. A girl looking slightly annoyed. Mikala turned and using her speed, in a matter of seconds she was standing in front of the blue hair girl. "Hi, I'm Mikala" she said introducing herself. "And this is my umbrella" she added giggling softly as she twirled her umbrella slightly. "I really like your hair it's so....blue you know? It has that.....special feeling." she said then burst into a fit of laughter. Mikala found it funny that she couldn't even describe her own thoughts! Now the girl would defintely know something was wrong with her! "Are you a....uhh Hybird? I always forget the types, there are so many! I think I might be the only vampire of the school. How fun is that?" she said, and put a hand over her mouth as she let out a muffled giggle. Of course, it was just rambling with Mikala, mostly to herself though. The girl had probably zoned out by now, anyone would when they listened to her endless talking. Mikala probably wouldn't stop talking, or notice until the girl said something though.

Rei stood sharply as the girl appeared in front of her. The girl started with a pretty quick introduction, and everytime Rei tried to speak she was interrupted by another random outburst. "H-.." Following the introduction to her umbrella, "Th-". This girl went off into a confusing short conversation about her hair color, confusing Rei if it was either a compliment or some kind of verbal attack. She was going to try and speak out to defend herself, but this girl went off laughing like some madman. But they fact she could tell Rei was a Hybrid in a matter of moments was strictly shocking. Though as this conversation began to continue her eyes would begin to spin in confusion.

"W-wow, slow down, slow down!" Rei placed a hand against her forehead, feeling a small headache coming along as she tried to keep up with the conversation. She said something about hybrid vampire, blue umbrella? She shook her head quickly, in attempt to recollect her thoughts. "Vampire, hates sunlight, so that is a sun umbrella, or so I would think." Letting out a deep breath she stared at the girl, trying for a minute to figure out what could possibly be wrong with this. Her thoughts too jumbled and mixed to even try and pick at the small details of what this girl was even saying. "Mika? Mika the vampire, and umbrella Blue?" That was about all she really collected from the chatter of things, why someone would name their umbrella blue was beyond her.

As Rei had never really met a vampire before, she had to wonder if all of them were like this. And if so, she new it would be too rude to start acting out because of it. Besides, the screws loose on this one made it seem like she would move to the next person and forget everything that would happen. "Okay, I will not lose! It is my turn to try and confuse the vampire in plausible tradition." Taking in a deep breath in preparation, she tried to quickly think over what she was going to say.

"Ohai, my name is Rei!" She attempted to start out just as swiftly as the vampire, thinking it would catch her a little off guard like herself before. "You have really nice hair, but doesn't it tear? I mean every time I tried to go pigtails I would lose this handful of hair. Sometimes I would wear a hat to try and cover up the thin spots." No good, she was already losing breath trying to speak as quickly as she could to avoid Mikala's process of thought. But she needed to change subjects faster, a lot faster. " Hybrid I am, Misfit I be. Pureblood are you? Red eyes you have?" Wait, how did it still seem like she was the one being confused instead of the vampire? "If a vampire bites a zombie, does it become a vampire zombie, or does the vampire become a zombie vampire? In that case, what about a werewolf, could it be a werewolf zombie vampire or a zombie vampire werewolf?"

She had to stop, her head was spinning too much. Her voice seemed to break just before she ended, her mouth wide open as she gasped for air. "That's right, be confused then move on like you forgot all about me."

Mikala closed her eyes and thought as soon as Rei finished talking. "Mikala, pronounced Mik-ay-la, my umbrella doesn't have a name silly" she said chuckling, her eyes still closed. Mikala was registering everything Rei had said so she could answer all her questions, and the only way she could do that was to concetrate. "Thank you and oh im sure they have a cure for that" she said, going in order of the comments and questions. "Pureblood, oh of course not, I couldn't handle a servant. I'm a noble. Yes, I was born with red eyes silly! Actually I think the first one, you may wanna ask a zombie just to make sure though. Again, ask a werewolf and maybe a zombie" she said as she opened her eyes. "I hope I answered all of your questions, gosh there were so many! I think we'll get along just fine, huh Rei?" she commented, a smile upon her face. It wasn't often Mikala had a stable conversation with someone, and she had to admit, she did enjoy it.

Rei's breath was finally come to a slow, normal pace, when Mikala said her name once again. A slight embarrassment that she thought this girl actually named her umbrella, but the silence afterwards seemed to be paying off. A small smile came to her lips at the silence, she had done it, the vampire was confused. "I knew it wouldn't be hard!" But as soon as this thought entered her head, it was forced out once again. The vampire actually started responding to comments and questions she did not quite remember completely herself. "Cure for what?" She blinked, staring at the girl, severely confused. "Huh?" Her voice seemed to fluctuate as she listened to Mikala go on with the answers. Infact, trying to think back on what she even asked was leading to a deeper confusion and a bigger headache.

However the girl's last comment froze her mind over completely, "W-wha... Uh.." Her voice was barely even a whisper. She had established a connection? A connection for the vampire to say they would get along fine? Wasn't that nearly as much as simply saying they were on the path to becoming friends? Now that she was thinking about this, she couldn't help but think that it was a little fun to have that random conversation. "No, no, no, no, no no, no no no no no." her mind was becoming frantic, she knew that this girl would eventually leave her. Thinking of forming any kind of bond was not problem, she didn't make a link, no the vampire would forget it! She got a headache from the conversation it wasn't fun, it wasn't fun at all.

"What room did you get pulled into?" Her voice leaked out while her mind was still in panic.

"Room one zero one" she said smiling. "You were in......room one hundread I think. Wow, finally i remember something!" she said chuckling softly. Mikala stopped talking and closed her eyes, listening to everthing around her. Talking had worn her out, and she was getting over excited. And that could lead to trouble with her. "Hey Rei.....close your eyes and be completely still" she said softly, her words barely audible. "Tell me what you hear" she said. Mikala guessed that most people had left the clearing, and it would be silent enough to hear even the slightest noise. It was comforting to know, that something was always moving evein if you didn't know. Mikala opened her eyes wide and grabbed Rei's hand. "Let's go inside!" she said laughing as she began to drag Rei up toward the academy doors, laughing. It was easy for Mikala to break any silence, and continue on as if nothing unusual happen because even the unusual was usual.

Nodded, Rei silently watched the girl seemingly drift off to a quiet trance. A small soft voice came from her in this state, one that seemed to overwhelm Rei in an odd way. "O-okay..." She spoke under her breath, hesitantly closing her eyes. "What I hear? The wind? Is the wind even blowing today?" She never bothered to look at the trees, and she had been either indoors or by walls all day. Maybe the vampire was hearing something abnormal? That was a likely little possibility. Straining her ears, Rei tried to listen out for anything that could have caused attention to be grabbed. But all that was grabbed was her hand.

A loud yelp erupted from her throat, the shock coming to her as an extreme until it was followed by the vampires voice. "You scared me half to death!" She whined as she was being drug off. Even more awkward, they were heading towards the academy doors. "Where are we going.. Mikala!?" She felt it odd to be drug around like this, it had never happened before. Other than the occasional demon grabbing her by the legs to drag her off somewhere and leave her. "Mikala!"

Somehow, Rei did end up leading Mikala through the halls looking for Room 100. The slight joke from early did put her a little on edge. Simply because, she was just reminded how all it really took was the bite of a vampire to fall to her knees. But, what put her even further on edge, was just how happy this girl was acting just by her company. "This isn't good... Why am I warming up to her..." Her thought process seemed to remain, she was in fear of making an actual friend. But her normal behavior was fighting against it.

"I personally think all the rooms would be bland..." Rei muttered, placing her hand on the room door. "So don't try to expect too much." Her voice did not give way, or lead to a smile. She was still capable of being passive, that much was at least clear. She took in a quiet breath before opening the door and walking inside, only to leave the door open for another. "This situation is awkward! Was I supposed to stay outside, letting her in first? Crap, technically speaking I am the misfit here, is there some way your supposed to act to higher rankings?."

"I-I still haven't met my roommate.. But she did leave a note.." Rei pointed to the right side of the room. "Apparently this side is mine.. Though all I really need is the bed and a couple of drawers...." Again, she stopped to think if that was even a normal conversation when showing somebody your dorm. Was it odd? The first person she talked to in this room wasn't even her roommate, is that bad?

The response coming from Mikala only proved that her room was just as plain. Rei nearly forgot that they were even next door to eachother with all the confusion. Taking a couple of moments to look around the room once again, she had to think, having someone else decorate her side might not really be the bad. "Okay, if-" Rei turned around to see that no one was there, the door still wide open. "Mikala?" She muttered before walking out the door to find her on the ground. "You shouldn't sleep there you know..." She waited momentarily to see what would occur. This girl was a vampire, so she would be alright alone, right? "U-uh.." Rei was somewhat confused by this situation as well. This girl was apparently pretty good at putting her in this state. "I-if you don't mind, I am going to go lay down myself, Mikala. Try not to stay laying on the floor too long.."

She slowly backed up into the room once again, both wondering if it was alright to do so, and if this was the end of it. Reluctantly, she edged towards her bed, first sitting down on it. After a couple of minutes she spun back around and buried her face back into the pillow.

Mikala nodded, her eyes beginning to close. She was worn out and growing tired but she forced herself to stand anyway. Mikala closed her eyes, holding onto the wall with one hand. I shouldn't have...." though her thoughts were cast aside as she shook her head. The vampire staggered toward her room and opened the door, shutting it loudly and making her way to her bed. She fell straight onto of it, umbrella sliding out of her hand. Mikala closed her eyes drifting off slowly. "Is that how Lacey felt?" she thought, her breathing slowing down. Within a few mintues, Mikala fell asleep, her mouth parted slightly, twitching a bit before going completely still.

-------------------

Kayla stared at Victor as he left. Her eyes narrowed as she muttered something under her breath. "The big softie......" she grumbled shaking her head. She had to admit she was surprised but at the same time, a tiny bit weirded out. Still, Kayla turned to Leanne waiting for her reaction to her idea. "I guess we're gonna let Victor do his own thing hmm? And then wait until everything goes wrong?" she said, a soft teasing smile on her face.

Kiran was immediately fixed with what was definitely the second scariest glare heā€™d ever seen and he involuntarily tightened the grip on his book as Darius began his rant. Kiran didnā€™t bother to respond verbally, so he settled for keeping his words to himself. "What gave you that idea? Do I look pissed to you?ā€ Quite. ā€Goddamn misfits...why can't everyone be the same?" Kiran furrowed his brows. What... what did he just say? After that, things just kept coming. Angry words spouted from Darius as though he didnā€™t give a damn what the hell he said; he just wanted to get it out.

"Do you have any idea what kind of shit I have to deal with as a pureblood?ā€ No, please do tell. ā€ I have to be the smartest, strongest mother fucker out there, I can't 'consort' with certain kinds of people,ā€ Iā€™d say thatā€™s pretty clear. ā€I have to act a certain way at all times, and on top of all that, heaven forbid I have any sort of fun whatsoever. Seriously, its ridiculous....and you goddamn misfits, what do you have to do? Nothing.ā€ Bullshit. ā€No one expects anything of you.ā€ Bullshit. ā€ You live your life freely,ā€ Bullshit. ā€without any responsibility or care in the world,ā€ Oh look. More bullshit. ā€ you betray others, hurt them, and leave scars....laughing it off all the while. It's disgusting." Kiran frowned. If only you knew, asswipe. The more Kiran looked at Darius, the more he began to feel that he wasnā€™t entirely there. Like he was thinking not of the present, but of events from long ago. There were slim tendrils of what appeared to be shadows curling about Dariusā€™ tightly clenched fists. A miniscule spatter of blood dripped from them, but Kiran was pretty sure he didnā€™t care. After a few tense moments, Darius finally seemed to have calmed himself. "...Sorry. I didn't mean to ramble like that. You probably didn't want to hear any of that either....misfit." He sounded sad. Sad and empty. Kiran felt a twinge of pity for the other guy, even though he knew he shouldnā€™t. When his eyes met Dariusā€™ once more, the bloody red was fading from defiance to normalcy. That was a good sign.

Darius selected a long-sleeved shirt from his dresser and proceeded to change right in front of Kiran. Before he could look away out of courtesy, he caught sight of Dariusā€™ back: a marred canvas of abuse. Lacerations and angry marks of all sorts covered the skin, and Kiran found that he couldnā€™t rip his eyes away. He was curious. Where the hell did those marks come from? A fight maybe? But some looked like theyā€™d been there longer than others... multiple fights? Something in his gut told Kiran that this was not so, and his features softened. Abuse, perhaps? Without meaning to, he thought of his own father. The only one of the four children heā€™d ever hit before was Canaan, and that was because he was a trouble maker and deserved every slap he got. But Kiran hadnā€™t pegged Darius as a mischeivous sort...

Darius turning back around interrupted his thoughts. "I'm going to breakfast, or class, or whatever. Sorry again for...you know. Just forget it happened," he said curtly before leaving the room, and Kiran stood there alone. Instead of going to the cafeteria himself, he sat down on his bed and set his book aside. He pulled his bag to his feet and rifled through it before gripping another, slimmer book. He pulled it out and looked at it. It was worn and starting to come apart at the seams. On it, scribbled in permenant marker, was a series of characters that made up a name: ĪšĪ¹ĻĪ±Ī½. Kiran in Greek.

He opened it up and leafed through the semi-tattered pages. It was his journal. But he never wrote normally; a few words in English or Greek here or there, describing important events. He took the pen from between the pages and scribbled down in the naturally-italicized hadnwriting of his: Darius rant. With that, he replaced the pen and was about to close the journal when he caught a glimpse of the picture that was taped to the inside cover. He flipped the other pages over to look at it, and he smiled. It was a photograph of four children.

The first, on the left, was obviously the oldest and most mature of the four. He stood with his back straight, his black hair was straight and immaculate, and his red eyes carried a certain seriousness and adult-like disposition although he looked no more than eight or nine years old. Eon. Next to him was a shorter boy, with golden-orange hair and eyes of a similar shade. His arms were crossed and on his face was a large grin. His scarlet eyes were smouldering with laughter. Canaan. Second to last was a girl, the only female in the photo. Her hands were folded delicately on her lap. She wore a big sunhat from which twin pink ponytails cascaded past her knees. She looked as though she were in mid-giggle, and her cheeks were red with glee. Karne. And last in the picture was a small boy, no more than four years old. His hair was plaitnum and a series of red lines criss-crossed about under his left eye. He looked at the camera with wide, almost confused eyes. The boy looked transluscent, as though he were just an apparition instead of a physical form. Kiran smiled. Me. He was more ghostly than demonic as a younger child; he didnā€™t start showing up in pictures until he was at least twevle months old. Kiran slowly closed the journal and replaced it back in the bag, then sighed. Time to get to the cafeteria, he supposed. He picked up his book, tucked it under his arm, pulled up his hood again, and left the room.

He eventually found his way to the cafeteria, following crowds of stragglers and such. He wasnā€™t very hungry. It wasnā€™t unusual for him to skip a meal or two a day. Kiranā€™s eyes scanned the large, crowded room. His eyes rested on a familiar face. Mikala. He smiled. Usually he would sit alone, but he might as well attempt to make some friends while he was here. He maneuvered around the occasional student until he reached her. He sat down in a chair next to her. ā€œGood morning Mikala,ā€ he greeted the girl heā€™d met before.

Kayla was sitting on a stool, in her small cabin, polishing her rifle. It was a cabin where she stored weapons that she never really used often. Each weapon hung on the wall, polished and loaded, ready to go whenever. It the corner of the cabin was a large window in front of desk full of cleaning supplies and a stool. Kayla held her weapon in the sunlight that shone through the window, and examined her work. She smiled to herself, satisfied.

Buzzzz

Kayla cursed to herself and set the rifle down gently on the desk. She began searching for her phone, opening up the dresser drawers. Of course, her phone was always on vibrate, and sense it was text, the phone would only vibrate once. Though Kayla had to admit, it was better than the ringing. She couldn't stand the constant ringing, god it was annoying. Kayla yanked open a drawer and a punch of papers fell out, along with two guns. Damn you!" she muttered, as she searched through the mess, finally finding her phone. After fiddling with it for a moment, she opening up the text message.

ā€˜Meet at Alinaā€™s workshop. Last minute briefing before we leave.ā€™

Kayla sighed after reading the words. Without even bothering to clean up the mess, Kayla left the cabin, closing and locking the door behind her. She began her short walk to headquarters and in a matter of minutes, she had arrived. Though it did take her a little longer to find Alina's workshop. After all, she rarely visited the place unless necessary. When Kayla finally reached the place, she knocked loudly twice, then opened the door, entering. It was a bit rude, but Kayla didn't notice much. "Glad you didn't start the tea party without me" she said, a soft grin on her teasing face.

"Oh, hello Kiran!" Mikala said, smiling. Mikala rested her chin on the palm of her hand as she looked around. "So how are things with your roommate?" she asked attempting to make conversation. Mikala's eagerness from yesterday was low, and she was even more distracted than usual. It wasn't because something had caught her attention, more like her head ache was still wearing off, slowly and it was interfering with her.

Kiran started, as the question caught hiim by surprise. ā€œUmā€¦ā€ he began, looking down at the book in his lap. Part of him was going, ANSWER HER YOU ANTISOCIAL TWAT! And the other part was all, How to put thisā€¦ So, he hesitantly responded, ā€œWell, I wouldnā€™t say weā€™re exactly friends, per seā€¦ā€ He leaned back and sighed, gaze scanning the large room. Kiran shrugged. ā€œI guess weā€™ll have to see what happens.ā€ Another sigh. ā€œAnyways, howā€™re things going with you, Mikala? You like it here so far?ā€
