IT ALL GOES WRONG EVERY TIME I TRY AND DO SOMETHING RIGHT β₯maccotango
If this were some modern fantasy novel, it wouldn't be hard to believe what Ruri claims to be; a vampire in modern society. Unfortunately, that's not the case and the teen has only deluded himself into believing he's a nightstalker. It even reached the point wherein he attempted to convince his parents to buy him a coffin, although thankfully his idea was firmly rejected. His family, while they don't encourage his ideas, don't exactly want to spend time and resources trying to get him to face reality. As a result, he continues to live contentedly in his little dreamland.
AND NOW CANβT HELP BUT HATE MYSELF FOR FALLING BEHIND β₯maccotango
Ruri finds it difficult to be around people. Living in seclusion will do that to anyone, but also because of the things he experienced as a child. When someone comes up to him for a hug, his first instinct is to evade, as he immediately assumes they'll hit or grab him. Other than to take out the trash, he has hasn't really left his apartment in the two years he's been living there. It's a lonely existence; even he acknowledges as much. But his distrust of people coupled with his "vampire" excuses have not given him much reason to go outside and experience the world.
I WANNA RUN AWAY FROM EIGHT MILLION OF THESE ACHING PAINS β₯maccotango
His childhood was not a happy time for Ruri and if he could erase them, he would. Memories of hiding from his classmates, being kicked where they wouldn't leave bruises, everyone avoiding him like the plague; he hated going to school. Sunburns from playing outside, an allergy to garlic, unusually sharp canines - at some point, he started believing that he wore long sleeves to protect himself from the sun, rather than to hide his numerous cuts and bruises. When others found out he believed he was a vampire, they called him a freak and the bullying grew worse, eventually backing him into a corner. His family caught him in time, and pulled him out of school. To this day, an extremely faint mark can be seen around his neck.
LOOKING FAR AND AWAY FOR JUST SOME WAY TO ESCAPE β₯maccotango
Nowadays, he spends most of his time on the internet, holding text conversations with others. Sure, he's a bit weird with the fact he believes himself to be a vampire and all that shit, but his online friends say he's a likeable person. He's prone to being immature and is, quite frankly, a coward, but when he finds something he loves he'll be 100% devoted to it. Art happens to be that thing and when he's not playing his games, he'll often be drawing fanart of them.
WHY WAS I BORN, WHY DID I EVEN HAVE TO ENDURE? β₯maccotango
Light manipulation may be appropriate to an incarnation of Amaterasu, but it's ironic to someone like Ruri, who believes himself to be a vampire. While light manipulation covers many things, his particular ability focuses on turning light into a tangible object. For someone who's terrified of sunlight, this is probably the worst power to have. He'll often need a source of light and while things like flashlights work, his power is strongest with the sun. Ruri can also generate his own to a lesser extent, but anything he makes with it is considerably weaker.
