Ashlen turned the delicate band on the finger nervously, the thin band slided loosely on her skinny finger. She stood looking at the door, she had struggled to come to terms with how the small band on her finger could stop the burning pain that the sun would bring to her skin. She wanted to test it out immediately. Her hand reached for the doorknob that lead to the rooftop. She heard voices outside but ignored them, they could just be in her head. Piper nodded at Ben and ran towards the net to follow through with a spike. She jumped up and did a somersault in mid-air, her timing perfect as she brought one foot out to deliver a powerful kick spike, sending the ball hurtling towards the ground on the other side of the net. She landed delicately on the net, with perfect balance. She still had the same smirk on her face knowing that her kicks would give her team the advantage.
