They say it's the perfect place to be. That the towns could have been plucked out of a magazine. They say that here, everyone is the same. Everyone's accepted and no one disregarded. No one is murderous, wicked nor cruel- no crime rates, no need for police stations or juvenile courts. No youth offenders team or social workers. A church and choir on every other street, god serving men and women with no intentions of immorality or anything but subservience. Medical research is so advance here, every baby is designed to genetic perfection, no sickness or ill health- no one will ever die young or too soon, the time will come at a respectable age- about 83 for most. But...how do they do it? Well it's not something the Officials will openly admit to but when a child is born in the City, it's contained until it's been injected with a carefully developed formula that changes it's whole nature and appearance- it's entire genetic make-up, is forcefully mutated in order to make them look like everyone else, behave like everyone and be everyone else. The only individuality shown by anyone is the barcode printed on the inner side of the left wrist. It's the only form of identification in anybody in the whole city has. Except, President but he's only known as President and nothing else. Even his side workers lack of identities. No one is anybody and everybody is no body. It's not a Utopia, don't be fooled by your TV but I guess it's too late now- welcome, to the city!

But as it's always known to occur- some body found out. A group of youths a generation ago put some of the pieces together when they witnessed the birth of a baby through the security unit window, the drapes had been left open and by pure coincidence some stray youths saw and watched the terror that poor innocent child was put through just in order to make him normal. It took them years but they put it together slowly, living in the shadows- pretending every day they knew nothing but barcodes and statistics. Eventually, when they couldn't find out enough to do something proper to take it all down, they gave up and had children- they continued their lives, simply giving up on taking the City down but they did one more trick. They had their children in secret and used an inside rebel to get them tattooed with a barcode without having them injected. Which means there is now twelve unregistered, free thinking, self-reliant, open minded and aggressive youthful teenagers on the loose who know a lot about a big secret and are far from being as weak willed as the generation before them. These kids are known as the 88's- the first of them had the barcode ending in 88 and they went up to 100 in their nine digit serial codes. They have no obedience, they have no born loyalty to the Officials. They're 17 and their parents have just been caught out and murdered. Now off of their backs, they need to crack the code, hunt down those responsible for the mass depersonalization of an entire district and raise the alarm but all the while- they've got to do so in hiding because the time bomb's ticking.

Image
1. The public outside of the HQ where the 88's are hiding, is based in a theoretical interpretation of 2020. So, technology is incredible and exaggerated for the effect of the role-play but please don't be obsessive, no laser guns, star ship enterprises, teleportation devices or anything overly random like that. We're talking Divergent kind of advanced if anybody has seen that, feel free to use that as an ideal reference. Except for the medicine technology which is practically limitless except for immortality- everyone has to die but it's well controlled.

2. Obviously outside of their compound, they stand out like a sore thumb because they have their own appearances. For the sake of simplicity it will be assumed everyone outside of the compound and group of 88's has been genetically engineered to ensure they are brown haired, Caucasian and brown eyed but in the 88's they can differentiate as much as one wishes.

3. Originality is key to interesting characters in this role play.

4. They are not prepared for this mass scale rebellion they are causing, they are teenagers who are trapped under ground knowing they need to change the world but not yet being capable. Of course they will be training and learning the things they need too but none of them are war machines ready for world domination. They need to time and tactics but more importantly- chance, luck and hope.

5. This is an RP that will explore violence, graphic/mature/offensive and sensitive themes, so please be prepared for this before signing up.
