The pace of her fluffy tail started to wane in energy as she waited for the Barlos to show up. It was so difficult to stay in one place while both her human and canine mind longed for her to explore or at least do /something/ that, well.. didn't involve staying. Darla huffed silently and dropped her bag to her side which contained: her traditional Japanese dress, face paints that she... didn't really want to use, several brushes, combs and moisturisers for her long, flowing brown hair and several other assorted items like her little good luck charm; a stuffed bear named Rosie.
Brown eyes peered down affectionately at the bag she wanted to rouse to get her little bear but no, it wasn't the time. She just had to stay put and wait until- !!! Pat,pat, pat. It was the sound of her tail lightly tapping the top of her duffel bag - her own spirits had raised upon seeing Ellra and, in addition to her tail wagging once more, she also beamed brightly when she stopped to introduce herself.
Darla didn't introduce herself, for the obvious reason, but dipped into her bag and fished out a small notepad. On the first page was her name written in bright, multi-colored cardboard cut-outs; she hadn't yet learned to read or write but Aestrith wanted to be sure she at least was able to recognize her own name and recognize numbers. She proudly held up the notepad, showing her name off to Ellra. Next would be stating that she were there to perform, not as a resident, but as a guest.
Ew, Mr. Saiforro. She wasn't looking forward to speaking to the man again so soon. But, well, it needed to be done. She couldn't just leave sweet Darla behind. "I hope you don't mind crowds. We have many guests here today."

The guard job didn't seem like a bad gig at first minus the cold and being outside but it paid for his bills and he was able to carry around a bow which was a job his previous employers never allowed. Though he figured the time would pass much more quickly while he was on watch possibly interaction from some of the residents or shooting intruders with his bow. This was the hand he was dealt, so he was forced to play with it.
His feet hit the ground with a heavy thunk and he almost fell forward but managed to catch his balance. Isamu folded his wings and slowly approached the bundled man who was leaning on the front door, "Are you here for the festival?" He asked in a dull tone. Normally Isamu would be more than happy to meet a new resident, guest, or employee, but today was just not his day and so Ehren was not going to be getting a very friendly welcome.
He didn't know what to make of the man that now floated down from the roof and almost fell over from his own lack of balance. So Ehren stood there now looking at the man his eyes narrowing a bit.
"I do however have a hunch that you may be the one I have to go to for my duties though." Ehren said slowly the words carefully coming out of his mouth as he extended a free hands towards the man.
The entryway to the mansion had red rugs on the floor and tapestries of silk hung on each wall. "The artwork in the mansion is not to be touched. This is pretty laid back place but there are rules of course. As a guard you will not be able to... have a relationship with any of the residents, professional relationships only. It is also a good idea to never be left alone with a resident, they could blame you for anything and get you into trouble..."
Isamu then began leading Ehren through the beautiful hallways.
The thought of paperwork however made him cringed. No matter where he went paperwork seemed to follow him like a ghost he couldn't escape it with his stint in the military and he couldn't escape it now it seemed.
As they approached the stairs he pointed at them, "These stairs go up to the second floor, obviously," he stated as he began climbing up them, "We are headed to the third floor. The only time you may go up to the third floor is if you are with me or one of the Saiforro's. The doors to those rooms remain locked at all other times. So you wouldn't be able to enter even if you tried..."
"So about this paperwork I have to do. Will I be constantly be doing paperwork?" Ehren asked slowly and somewhat cautiously as he followed the man. He already had a feeling he was going to love this job with the sense of humor the people seemed to have here. It seemed utterly perfect for him.
