Lillian looked out her window, and the clouds were dark, and it looked like it was about to storm. She turned on the tv to look at the weather, and a tornado warning appeared on the screen.
"That's just great," she muttered sarcastically, then a a loud crash of thunder sounded from outside, and it was so loud it caused her to fall off her bed, due to being startled.
"Lillian, we need to go to the tornado shelter, now," her mother said in a worried voice, and she quickly rushed Lillian out of her room, and out of the house to the tornado shelter outside, her dad followed close behind them.
They got inside the shelter, and her dad could barely keep the doors closed since the tornado was so strong.
Lillian didn't know what to think. It seemed that her mind had went blank, and it felt like she was dreaming. She had to be dreaming, right? Lillian never would have thought that a tornado would come near her home. She had never even seen a tornado, or saw a tornado warning on the news in all her life.
A few hours later, the storm had passed, and they got out of the shelter to come face to face with a big pile of what used to be her house. Now it's just a big mess.
Lillian felt tears prick in her eyes. She had lived in that house her whole life, she had so many memories in that house. So many things that she never wanted to lose, and she knew that all of it was gone.
What were they going to do now? They had no money now, they had nobody to rely on that lived here, since all her family lived in different states.
"What are we going to do, dad?" she asked her dad worriedly.
"Lillian, it's alright, my old high school buddy said that if I ever needed anything from him, he would be more than happy to help me. He owns a three story mansion, and he has a son that goes to your school, I believe he's in the same grade as well. Anyway, I'm sure he would let us stay until we can get back on our feet. Your mother and I still have our jobs to rely on, but we might need you to get a part time job, just to help out. We could rent an apartment or something, and then we'll be fine," my dad explained to me, and my mother just stood there, gawking at the pile of junk that I once called my house.
"I don't mind getting a job," I told my dad with a shrug.
He nodded before pulling his phone out of his pocket, and he dialed a number before putting the phone to his ear. A few seconds later he spoke, "Hey, Malcolm, you know how you said that if I ever needed anything, you would help me out? Yeah, well, my house just got torn down by a tornado, and we have nowhere to go. Do you think my wife, my daughter, and I could possibly live with you until we get back on our feet?" he paused for a moment as he listened to Malcolm talk into the phone, and a big grin appeared on his face, "Thanks so much Malcolm."
She looked at her dad expectantly, and he smiled, "Malcolm is coming to pick us up now."
Soon a nice car stopped on the road right behind them, and her dad smiled, "Hey, Malcolm."
The three of them got in his car, her mom and her sat in the back, and her dad sat in the front with Malcolm.
They drove off, down a few roads before arriving at the mansion, and they got out of the car.
"Welcome to my home," Malcolm smiled at the three of them as Lillian looked at the mansion in shock.
Malcolm lead them inside, where Lillian was greeted by none other than Jeremy Taylor.
"Jeremy," she muttered, her eyes narrowed slightly.
