"Arwen is well. She shines within Gondor as a light that my people look to in times of darkness. She is every bit the Queen that I knew she would be. She gave birth last year to our first, a son. As for myself, I have been restless. I do not know why but I believe that this quest is what I needed." he spoke of the dark haired elf that she'd know long ago, she nodded softly as she listened. "And you? How've you been? I would very much like to know how you came to be with Legolas. I do not imagine that he would allow just anyone to travel with his sister. He must place great trust in you."

He asked but she wasn't entirely sure how to answer the question, it was a simple enough question yet the last time she remembered being asked that question was the last time she'd seen the King of Gondor. Only he'd not been a king then and he'd been begging her to save the Marchwarden that traveled with them now. So instead of answering she waited as he spoke again regarding Legolas future queen.

She couldn't help but laugh lightly, his words of Valania were true all she'd done thus far was complain and bug the Elf King about their wedding. However, at the same time she could not understand what was holding Legolas back, sure they were still bound and as much as it would kill her if he asked it of her, she would not stop him from unbinding them. She turned her attention back to the King of Gondor, she felt at ease with him standing next to her.

"I am well. Weak, but well." she spoke openly with him and it was because of her visions she was weak. "As far as Legolas ad his trust in me, it is not by his doings that I accompany this fellowship." She said glancing to the Elf King before back to Aragorn. "If it was up to him, I'd be nothing more then his prisoner. Long ago before the fall of my people, I was in Valania's position, but things change." she said simply, she knew that Aragorn was well aware of the power she held.

The King of Gondor himself had bared witness to her healing powers and he'd been one of the few to realize just how dangerous and draining her visions were. "Still, despite our past, he lacks trust in what I am capable of." she sighed deeply. "No matter, I am glad to have you here My Lord." she said placing a hand gently on the side of his face. "If you should find yourself restless on this journey, I would not mind easing your mind." she said giving him a soft smile.

It was then that she turned from the king and made her way towards the others, not wanting to bother Aragorn. "Why don't you just tell her the truth Legolas. Tell her who I really am" she spoke in their language so that no one could understand her but the King himself, a wicked smirk on his lips as she passed the two of them. She'd over heard their argument and she knew exactly what Legolas was avoiding, she knew him far to well.

"And who are you?" the small voice of the small creature spoke up, he was quite bold and Haldir found him quite etertaining. He'd seen the Hobbit once before, he'd been a friend of Master Frodo's, however he'd not spent much time with him or spoke to him.

"I are Haldir, Marchwarden of Lothlorien." he said simply giving the Hobbit a soft nod. He quite like him, he knew the reason for his presence on the journey was to get around places when the rest of them couldn't. He'd more then likely be more use then he looked at the moment. "And you?"

"Peregrin Took, at your service! Though, all my friends call me Pippin. So..Lady Aeweth..she's Legolas's sister? I don't think I've ever heard him speak of her. At least not while we were all together last. Of course..we did have quite a bit on our plates at the time. She seems kind. That fellow she took off with..not so sure about him. Seems a bit odd to me. But then, I don't go around meeting too many Elves."

"I would not think The King would speak much of her, he keep her secret to keep her protected." The Marchwarden spoke in turn for the king, know that their were very few outside the race of the elves who knew Legolas had a sister. Pippin offered him his pipe however Haldir did not take it, he gave a polite no thank you shake of his head.

"Are you and the Princess a thing? I saw you wandering off after her." Haldir raised a brow quite surprised at the small beings question and maybe even slightly embarrassed that he'd actually been paying enough attention to see him wandering off. He sighed shaking his head.

"No. The Princess and I are merely friends and I am her keeper on this journey." he explained, keeping his yes on the Hobbit. "I have vowed my life to protect the young princess, for her future is very important." He spoke calmly. "I should think nothing to come of us." He said honestly, he was not of royal lineage and it would be expect of the princes to marry and carry on the royal bloodline. He glanced up to see the young princess and the young male elf coming back from the woods. He excused himself and made his way over to the two.

He quickly took the wood from the princess. Examining her for anything at all out of place, he still did not trust the younger elf around her and they'd been gone for sometime, which had worried him all though he'd pretended it hadn't. "I'm glad you are alright My lady, I was beginning to worry." he sighed.

As they entered into the camp, Aeweth was quickly met by Haldir. She smiled warmly up at the older Elf as he reached them. He took the wood from her and she could suddenly feel his gaze roaming over her. If she had to guess, he was most likely making sure that she was completely fine. Calemiron was quick to excuse himself from the pair, obviously not wanting to cross the Marchwarden. "I'm glad you are alright My lady, I was beginning to worry." She only continued to smile at him. Of course he'd worried for her. "Haldir, you should not worry so."

She hesitated for a moment before reaching up and placing a hand upon his face in a sign of comfort. "You should give me some credit. I would have called you should anything happened. I've no doubt that your keen hearing would have picked it up." She was smiling up at him, touched by his concern. She removed her hand from his face, allowing it to drop back to her side.

Aeweth suddenly led the way over to where Aragorn was currently working on getting a fire going. Pippin was sitting there with the Human, chatting quietly until they neared. She could suddenly feel the Hobbit's gaze upon her. The Princess looked down at him, smiling. He gazed up at her, as if trying to decide something about her. Though soon enough he was speaking. "My Lady, Peregrin Took, at your service." He bowed his head to her slightly as he continued to smoke on his small pipe.

"My brother has spoken of your before to me. It is an honor to meet you at last." She took a seat next to him and the poor hobbit just simply could not stop eyeing her. It wasn't a horrible look though Aeweth was unsure of why he was looking at her so. "What?" She asked the small being. Peregrin simply glanced at Haldir and then back to the Princess, smiling. "Just..you don't seem like a princess that would hold stock in doing what you're told." He shot another look at Haldir before laughing just as the Princess did.

However, their talk was cut short as Legolas and Sérëdhiel were suddenly arguing in a language that Aeweth could not understand. She turned her gaze to the pair, watching them. She was not surprised at how her brother was acting. As of late he'd begun getting a bit of a temper. The argument did not last long, something that the Princess was glad of, yet her brother left. She allowed him to remain gone for some time before she rose and made to go after him. She promised Haldir that she would call him if she had need of him though had decided that it would be best if she went alone.

The King had been making a beeline towards his sister who was sitting with Pippin, speaking. However, he never made it there. Sérëdhiel's voice sounded, she was speaking in their language. "Why don't you just tell her the truth Legolas. Tell her who I really am." Legolas stopped immediately, turning to Sérëdhiel. She was smirking at him as she moved by him and Valaina. He could not simply allow her to act so with him. He called out to her then, speaking in their language. He did not want Valaina to hear his words.

"Sérëdhiel! Leave it alone." His voice was suddenly harsh, the anger from Valaina's nagging and his frustrations regarding Sérëdhiel showing through. He took a step closer to the dark haired Elf. He continued in their language. "I will tell her when I wish it. No sooner. I will not have you going about acting in such a way."

He wanted nothing more than to remain bound to Sérëdhiel. Truly, she would be the only one to ever hold his heart. Yet, he had a duty to Valaina. For once in his life, Legolas was at a complete loss. However, he could not allow Sérëdhiel to know this. He shook his head, having noted Aragorn tensing at the Elf King's sudden anger. "You are acting a child." He finally fell silent, moving away from her..from Valaina.

He continued walking, once again leaving the camp. He did not go far, remaining close enough that he could return quickly if the need arose. He only stopped as he came to a smaller tree. He leaned his back against it, closing his eyes. Why couldn't he have a more simpler life? Between Valaina and Sérëdhiel he was going to go mad rather quickly. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Suddenly, he closed his eyes and sunk to the ground. He kept himself pressed against the tree.

The King was suddenly regretting bringing Valaina. Yet, he knew that she would have came either way. And then there was Aeweth. He was beyond angry with her for insisting on joining them. He'd nearly lost himself to the anger when she'd dared argue him. He knew, however, that Haldir would take care of her and so he was trying not to worry for her.

He was unsure of how long he'd remained by himself before Aeweth suddenly appeared by his side. She slowly sat down next to him though remained silent for a moment. "Should you not be with Haldir? That was the whole reason I wanted him to come." Aeweth simply glanced at her brother. "I do not need to be by his side every moment. No doubt he would tire of me rather quickly." She laughed lightly before continuing. "What is wrong, Legolas? It pains me to see you so."

The King hesitated, almost as if he was unsure of what to say to his sister. He glanced to her, suddenly dropping his head to her shoulder. "Valaina wishes to bind yet I do not wish it yet...especially right now with all of this going on. She just will not listen to me." The Princess thought for a moment before she spoke. "Perhaps if you only gave her a reason?"

Legolas though over his sister's simple suggestion. Perhaps that would work. It couldn't hurt, at any rate. He took his head from her shoulder and then nodded to her. Aeweth smiled and then rose. "I'd better get back before Haldir is cross with me. I've been gone too long." She parted ways with him, heading back towards the camp. Legolas watched as the young Elf left him. He would have to come up with a good reason to put off the binding so that Valaina would buy it. He placed his head into his hands, trying to think.

She could sense his stress as if was her own. She knew what he was putting of, they'd eventually have to break the magic that bound them. Not that Legolas didn't care for her, but she was almost positive that it would hurt her more then him, it might even kill her. She was well aware of this, the princess of the Misty Mountains had been doomed since her birth and there was nothing that could change that, not even love.

"Sérëdhiel! Leave it alone." he hissed, his voice harsh and she simply raised a brow. Surely she should be terrified of the king of Mirkwood, but she was the farthest thing from scared of him. He took a step closer and she simply held her ground refusing to back down. She held her head high as he continued. "I will tell her when I wish it. No sooner. I will not have you going about acting in such a way." Equinox stopped protectively and snorted angrily.

It was then that turned away from the camp and disappeared into the trees that surrounded their camp. Valaina glared at her and there was a silent moment where the future queen turned to go after her king, but Haldir politely stopped her trying his hardest to keep the group at peace, for Aeweth's sake. She spoke something in a low tone and it was only then that her black horse calmed himself.

She moved quickly, disappearing into the trees herself faster then anyone could stop her. Legolas didn't realize that he was only putting off the inevitable for his own selfish reasons. Not to mention that he refused to tell anyone who she really was and she hated him for that. She wasn't sure how long she walked, but she'd walked until she'd found a clearing. She could see the Misty Mountains covered in snow and it made her want to go home. A chill ran up her spine when she suddenly realized how eerie and silent it was around her and the mist that had settled in around her feet.

"Daciana...Fillin?" she breathed the names of two of her wolves in a language that only they could understand. There was nothing and she knew something was wrong they were never out of range that they couldn't hear her. Her hand flew up to her mouth when she saw the large two legged creature known as a Gobble-Wolf. They were thought to be only legend buried long ago with the Dragon Burzum himself. They were terrifying, in one bloody clawed paw he held Fillin the small alpha female of the wolf pack. She whined begging Sérëdhiel's help. The dark haired Elves eyes flicked to the rest of her pack as they came running out to her. Daciana's distinctive growl as he stood in front of Sera protecting her, despite Fillin being his mate.

The Gobble-Wolf let out a deafening shriek like howl, before he snap the small Alpha wolves spine killing her instantly. Sérëdhiel let out a painful scream, like she was the one who's spine had been broken in half, before falling to her knees. There was no doubt the others had heard. She'd had Fillin since the wolf was a puppy, she was strongly bound to her, making it hard for the Elf Princess to breath.

"Sérëdhiel, you have to go." Daciana growled, baring his teeth. "You are weak from loosing her, you can not fight this battle." his deep voice played in her head as he growled at the creature that grew closer and it wasn't alone others had started to emerge. Daciana was right, but she couldn't leave them there to fight alone.
She was not bound to these creatures they would kill her, unlike Burzum whom she was bound to by the darkness alone. He could not personally hurt her. She knew then he'd sent the Gobble wolves to kill her and he was well aware of her weakness of being bound to animals. She heard Daciana's growling get louder and she was frozen she couldn't will herself to move, she was still in pain from Fillin being ripped away from her.

She pulled herself together as quickly as she could there was no way she could run, but she had nothing to fight with. She stood slowly realizing just how close the creatures had gotten to her. She was too weak to fight and to weak to run. Blood seeped through the silk fabric of her dress, but it wasn't her own it was Fillin's. She let out a desperate noise, of fear. She'd never not been able to protect her animals, they'd never died other then from old age under her watch.

"Sérëdhiel! You have to go NOW!" Daciana practically screamed, growling and baring his teeth before lunging, but she was too numb from what had just happened to react.

"Haldir, you should not worry so." she breathed placing a hand upon his face and had it been anyone else he may have been irritated or pulled away quickly, but their was something about her touch that made him patient and calm. "You should give me somecredit. I would have called you should anything happened. I've no doubt that your keen hearing would have picked it up." he smiled lightly as she continued over to the rest of the group and he sighed. He wouldn't stop being worried about her no matter how much she told him it was going to be alright.

There was a small argument between the dark haired elf and the King, that seemed to be a growing issue between the two of them. However, no one could quite understand them, because they spoke in a language that was unknown to any of them. He'd never heard it before and it seemed as though neither had the others. The argument was not long though and Legolas disappeared into the woods. He gently grabbed the blonde Elves arms when she tried to go after her future husband.

"My lady perhaps it would be wise to let the King have a moment to clear his thoughts" he said camly. The young Elf did not seemed to please with Haldir stepping in. She seemed quite impatient and demanding, which irritated Haldir, but he knew better then to speak of it. Normally he would leave well enough alone and let Legolas handle his own problems, however, this was not just about Valania or Sérëdhiel...for the Marchwarden it was about keeping his ward, the Princess happy and safe.

Valania seemed to irritable as she disappeared into the tent that was set up for her and the king. Before he could stop her the dark haired elf had disappeared and he sighed irritated with the situation. He'd gone back to join the rest of the group, eventually Aeweth had left to find her brother and he'd allowed her to go without him shadowing behind her but that didn't stop him from worrying about her. He knew there was danger they had not yet come across or Celeborn would not have felt the need for another Fellowship. Haldir was constantly on guard.

He was keeping to himself, his senses well aware of everything that was going on in the distance around them. He wasn't paying much attention to the Hobbit or the Human, nor did he care much for Valania's crying alone in the tent. It wasn't until their seemed to be a small shift in the air that caught his attention and him feel on edge. He glanced up just as Aeweth was coming out of the woods and entering camp. He made his way to her.

"Where is your brother?" he asked concerned. He instinctively pushed Aeweth behind him when he heard the scream of the female elf far in the distance. He grabbed Aeweth's arm not giving her a choice as he pulled her towards Valania's tent and pulled her inside. "The two of you are to stay here." he ordered very sternly, however keeping his eyes on Aeweth because she was his number one priority. "Pippin" he called out towards the Hobbit, sure he wouldn't be much help if something happened, however he was better then noting and whatever danger Sérëdhiel was in seemed far enough away. "Watch over them." He ordered before glancing to Aragorn who already seemed ready to go, he was unsure of where Legolas was, however that did not matter.

As Aeweth entered the camp, Haldir quickly making his way to her. She stopped, looking up at the older Elf. "Where is your brother?" He asked her. "He is just a short distance from here. He just needs some time to himself." She said softly. A short moment later, the sound of a scream sounded. Aeweth froze as she glanced in the direction that it had come from. Haldir was quick to push her behind him and she did not protest.

He turned suddenly, pulling her along with him. She was forced to walk quickly in order to prevent him from dragging her along. She immediately realized where he was taking her. They reached Valaina's tent rather quickly. Entering, Haldir released her. She turned her gaze to him as he spoke. "The two of you are to stay here." The Princess nodded in understanding. She would do as he wished. "Pippin, watch over them." The Hobbit soon was by her side. "Of course." He said to the male Elf.

Aeweth suddenly took hold of Haldir's hand, forcing him to look at her. "Haldir, please..be careful." Worry was written clearly upon her. She suddenly turned, making her way over to Pippin and Valaina. She sat down next to Valaina. There was little else that they could do. The three of them...together they all had little experience in war. Suddenly two howls sounded rather close by. Aeweth felt Pippin sudden pressing closer to her side. It was easy to see that he was frightened.

Gently, she slid a arm about his shoulders. "Do not fear. Haldir will protect us. He is a very skilled warrior and will allow nothing to get into the tent. You will see Master Hobbit." Valaina was ignoring the two that were in the tent with her. She was still rather upset about the day's earlier events. As it were, she was eyeing Legolas's sister and the Hobbit. Pippin looked at Aeweth, trying to smile. "You would think that I would be used to all of this. But..I'm not very brave. Merry was always the brave one. How I wish he was here." "But you have me now. We will look after each other. Help to make sure that we do not back out of our Oath."

Aeweth was unsure what was happening outside of the tent. All she knew was that by the sound of it, something had found them. She feared for Haldir. She wanted nothing more than to help him. Though, she knew that there was little that she could do.

Shortly after Aeweth had left him, he heard Sérëdhiel's scream. He quickly rose from his seat and then turned in the direction that he'd heard her. He flew through the forest, running quickly but quietly. It did not take him long before he found the Elf. He came to a stop only a few paces from where she was. He took in the scene before him. Sérëdhiel stood, un-moving as a fearsome creature slowly neared her. It was not something he'd ever seen before. It looked to be some sort of strange cross of a Goblin and a Wolf.

He was quick to notch an arrow upon his bow, aiming at the creature. It was at that moment that Aragorn arrived as well, though closer to the female Elf. "Sérëdhiel?" The Mortal called to the Elf. She did not seem to react at all. Aragorn continued to try to reach the female. The creature was growling, the sounds coming from him low and threatening. It was easy to see that it wanted to kill. It moved, trying to get near the female Elf. Legolas reacted, the arrow flying. However it missed. Aragorn moved then as well. Together, they attempted to keep the creature away from the female.

Legolas finally became fed up with Sérëdhiel. He could not understand what was wrong with her. He spoke in their language, trying to reach her quickly. "Sérëdhiel, please. We need you..I need you!" He did not like this one bit. Already they'd run into trouble. The sudden sounds of a few more howls came from the direction of the camp. Legolas suddenly felt his heart drop. He, however, could do nothing in that moment. He would have to trust that Haldir would take care of his sister.

Suddenly, there was another of the creatures. This one cut Legolas off from the other two. He paid little attention to this. The creature moved slowly as it neared the Elf. Legolas kept his gaze on the creature. It radiated hatred and evil. It suddenly lunged at him and he dropped his bow, quickly pulling out his twin blades. He slashed at the creature as it attempted to rip him apart. He could not pay attention to Sérëdhiel or Aragorn. His focus completely on the creature before him.

Once Haldir had taken care of getting Legolas's sister and Pippin into the tent, the man excused himself. He knew that it had been Sérëdhiel who had screamed. He ran. So fast he ran that he reached the two Elves moments after Legolas had joined Sérëdhiel. He took in the sight before him. The creature that stood near the female was terrible looking and clearly something that should not be. "Sérëdhiel?" He called to her. Nothing. Aragorn continued to try to get through to her. He tried everything that he knew of though nothing seemed to help.

The creature lunged, Legolas loosing his arrow. It missed. Aragorn moved, then, making his way quickly to place himself in front of Sérëdhiel, attempting to keep her out of harms way. The Human simply swung at the creature, watching as it would back up and then move forward again. This went on for some time before Legolas yelled to Sérëdhiel though Aragorn had no clue what was said.

The sound of more howls came from the camp. Aragorn knew then that they were in trouble. These beasts were clearly built for war. A moment later, another creature joined them. It cut Legolas off from the female Elf and Aragorn. Aragorn fought hard, trying to get their small group back together. If something didn't change soon, they would not survive. That much was clear. It was amazing how agile the creatures were. They seemed to be just out of reach of their weapons. Something that Aragorn could honestly say...he'd never experienced before.

SĂ©rĂ«dhiel hadn’t even realized Legolas or Aragorn had come to aid her. In fact she was completely oblivious, even to the fact that the creature who’d killed Fillin was inching closer to her. Her body felt cold only because she was feeling the effects of her Alpha female wolves death, being tied to the animal she could feel everything as if she was it. The blood the seeped through her dress was a curl crimson. She touched her fingers to it needing to know that it was real and not a dream.

"SĂ©rĂ«dhiel?" she heard a voice but she couldn’t seem to match it with the face, because everything seemed to blur together. "SĂ©rĂ«dhiel, please. We need you..I need you!" the words were spoken in a language only Legolas knew and his words seemed to cause her to stir. Slowly the pain of Fillin’s death was being replaced with a dangerous rage. It was then that time seemed to catch up quickly and she couldn’t see Legolas and that only feed her anger.

Aragorn however was warding off one of the monster’s from attacking her. She was far from a damsel in distress and she wouldn’t have either one of the guys thinking that. Mountain elves were once known for being great warriors and that’s exactly what she was, only she wasn’t fighting because she wanted to, she was fighting for Fillin.

She moved, quick on her feet. She grabbed Aragorn’s sword from his grip almost too quickly for him to realize what had happened. She went for the creatures legs they were weaker than the rest of its body. It let out an awful scratch as she cut into it almost leather like skin, however she didn’t even flinch. She climbed up it’s back, effortlessly stabbing it through its head and riding it as the creature fell lifeless to the ground. It had been the one that killed Fillin. She tossed the blood cover sword back to the mortal a smirk on her lips.

“Aim for their legs first, that’s where they are weakest all of their strength is in their upper body.” she said completely calm about the situation. “Don’t touch the wolves, there on our side.” she breathed gesturing to the pack that was helping. She moved towards Legolas than who was still fighting the other wolf like creature. “Daciana, keep the human safe.” she breathed to the wolf and immediately the large gray wolf was at Aragorn’s side protecting him as intently as if he was SĂ©rĂ«dhiel.

She moved quickly to aid the other elf, she had murder in her eyes. She pulled her throwing knives that she always kept on her out quickly, tossing them with perfect aim into the back of the Gobble-Wolves head and she seemed to hit it in just the right spot to drop it completely dead. She walked over its body, blood soaked dress, dark eyes, her dark hair shadowing her face, she looked terrifying and it was clear in that moment how she’d have been mistaken for some horrifying witch for the past few ages.

She pulled her throwing knives from the back of the creature head hopping down and pausing in front of the Elven king a wicked smirk on her lips. “It’s a shame how you only need me when you feel as though you’re going to lose me.” she took a step closer, closing the space between them and the magnetic heat between them was so intense she had to force herself not to reach out and touch him. “Tell me my king, what will become of you when my light is gone and I am dead. Will you need me then, too?” she spat cruelly. She was the only one who was aware of her death that was to come, but she had no problem letting him know what her fate was.

Haldir let Aragorn go, he would not be foolish enough to leave the camp unattended. There was deep, dangerous howls coming from the dark woods around them. He was not scared, he gone against armies of orcs. Whatever was out there would be nothing compared to what he'd faced times before. His only job was to keep Aeweth safe at whatever cost. He was well aware he could loose his life, yet the Marchwarden was still fearless.

His guard was up and his sense were on high alert. He watched the creatures as they emerged from the woods three of them large and snarling. He knew what they were, he'd had a lot of spare time when he'd been recovering and Gobble-Wolves were ancient creature long ago forgotten. The first moved for the tent however Haldir moved quick coming up from behind the wolf creature gliding effortlessly up onto the creatures back and it seemed to notice right away.

Haldir meant to stab him, only the monster managed to grab him before he had the chance and toss him like a doll to the ground below. He groaned in pain, from his prior injury, however he blocked the pain and got up quickly. He shot arrow after arrow finally managing to kill the first one, before realizing the other two were headed straight for him. A small smirk lit his perfect features, he'd missed action and adventure and hadn't realized how badly he'd missed it until right then.

He moved quickly as one lunged at him, he was quick on his feet and it was clear just how experienced he was in battle by the way he moved expertly dodging the creatures desperate need to kill him. He finally managed to kill the second one, only he was so distracted that the last one charged him and he'd managed to dodge him, but the creature caught his arm with it razor blade teeth, sinking them into the elf's skin deeply.

As much pain as Haldir was in, he took the moment to finish the creature off before the wolf like being could kill him. The camp was silent now, however Haldir's arm was throbbing and badly maimed, while his old injuries that had yet to fully heal despite how much time had gone by were flaring up again. Hoped that there were no more of the monsters, because without back up the wasn't sure he could continue with only one good arm.

The sounds that were surrounding them only caused the Hobbit to try to disappear into Aeweth's side. The Princess had no idea what Valaina was doing nor did she care. Aeweth had not spent much time with the future Queen and did not rightfully like the older Elf's attitude. She was spoiled and liked to keep it that way. The Princess froze as the sound of something getting closer to the tent.

She hated not knowing what was happening. She feared for Haldir. After having discovered that his battle wound still bothered him, she had found that she had been watching him more than she usually did. And now..it was easy to guess that he intended on keeping her safe. Aeweth attempted to listen to what was going on. With her sharp hearing, it was rather easy. She heard Haldir's groan and then the sound of him loosing an arrow.

Pippin was hiding his face into her side. The Princess allowed her hand to rest upon the Hobbit's curly head in comfort. A few long and stressful moments passed. Aeweth had been able to tell that Haldir was fighting something. However, what it was she had no idea. It was only as the camp suddenly went silent that the Princess suddenly feared for the life of the Marchwarden.

Aeweth suddenly separated herself from the Hobbit. "Haldir said to stay here.." The Hobbit said, his voice shaking with fear though he tried to hide it. Aeweth turned her gaze to the small creature. "I know..but I need to see what has happened. Wait here, Pippin, with the Lady Valaina. I will be back shortly." The Princess said before slowly exiting the tent.

Her gaze immediately took in the creatures that lay slain upon the ground. She was quick to seek out Haldir's form. She quickly looked him over, taking in his obvious wounds. She approached him then, quickly closing the distance between them. "Haldir.." She gently placed a hand upon his cheek as she gazed up at him in worry. "I thought I told you to be careful.." It saddened her to see him injured.

It was then that Aragorn returned, looking slightly battle weary. He was quick to inform them what they had encountered though quickly realized that those remaining at the camp had faced the same. He soon set about fixing a warm meal, calling Pippin to join him. The Hobbit only too happily exited the tent to join the Human.

Aeweth suddenly took hold of Haldir's good arm. She gently began pulling him along with her to her tent. She led him inside, ignoring any protest the older Elf gave her. She instructed him to take a seat on the bedroll that was already lain out. Aeweth left him for a moment to gather the supplies that she would need. She returned to him, sitting the things out so as to easily be able to get to them.

"I need you to remove your tunic so that I can get to your arm." She waited patiently. They were alone and Aeweth knew that Legolas would not be pleased when he returned though she cared little. She imagined that Haldir was in pain though knew him well enough to know that he would not speak of it to her.

Once the male Elf's upper body was bare, the younger Elf set about her work. However, as she began cleaning the wound and his arm of blood, she began to sing. She did so in the hopes of distracting him from the pain. She was as gentle as she could possibly be. When she was done with the cleaning, Aeweth began to apply a healing salve that would help with the pain.

SĂ©rĂ«dhiel moved and though Legolas did not see it..he could hear her. He was quickly brought back to the present as the creature before him continued to try to get close enough to do damage. It was quickly becoming obvious to Legolas that these creatures were dark and powerful. A combination that never ended well. SĂ©rĂ«dhiel's voice suddenly spoke. “Aim for their legs first, that’s where they are weakest all of their strength is in their upper body. Don’t touch the wolves, there on our side.”

Legolas had no time to act on her words as the creature before him suddenly lunged quickly at him. The Elf was forced to jump out of the way. He hit the ground, quickly rolling and standing. As his gaze fell to the creature who had turned back to the male Elf, the creature suddenly fell dead to the ground. Legolas allowed his eyes to move, falling to Sérëdhiel as she approached. The way she looked..it was unnerving to the Elf King. He'd never seen her in such a state before.

The female Elf pulled her knives from the creature and then paused in front of him. She smirked though it was not one that he cared for. “It’s a shame how you only need me when you feel as though you’re going to lose me.” The woman said, taking a step closer to him. Her voice was cruel as were her words. “Tell me my king, what will become of you when my light is gone and I am dead. Will you need me then, too?”

The Elf King did not speak right away. He was aware of Aragorn nearby. "Leave us." He said and the Mortal was soon gone. He knew not to question Legolas. There was more to the story that what he'd been able to see. Only once they were alone did the King speak. "What are you speaking of Sérëdhiel? You are immortal, as are all of our kind. There are few ways that we can die. You cannot possibly know if or when you shall die. As for what would become of me...I would continue in the same way that I did when you were thought to be dead so long ago."

He went silent for a moment, simply regarding her. He did not understand her..at all. One minute she was acting much as she did so long ago and the next she was nearly ready to cut him with her words. "I will speak no more of this now. We need to return to the camp. I must check on Aeweth...and the future Queen." He seemed to like throwing in her face Valaina. Yet, at the moment he did not care. He turned, quickly walking in the direction of the camp. He did not know if Sérëdhiel would follow and he nearly didn't care. However, he could not simply leave her. He turned suddenly making sure that she was following. "Come. We need to regroup. We can speak later."

She could tell Legolas was confused by her words, he was unaware of the full power that she actually held, just how vivid her visions were and how draining they were on her and no one aside from Aragorn was aware that she could heal, but she could not heal herself. He ordered Aragorn to leave and there was a part of her that wanted to go with Aragorn. He treated her decently and she missed him more then she should. He gave her the comfort, Legolas had given her long ago.

"What are you speaking of Sérëdhiel? You are immortal, as are all of our kind. There are few ways that we can die. You cannot possibly know if or when you shall die. As for what would become of me...I would continue in the same way that I did when you were thought to be dead so long ago." she did not speak, he would realize in time just like everyone else what was to come of her and his words made her understand that he couldn't care less.

She hated that she still lived through him, but he looked right though her as if he'd never known her. He said something else however she did not hear the words. She was too hurt, that he seemed to care little. She had heard his words about needing to get back to Valaina and that hurt. She debated even following him, because the longer she was around him the longer she felt herself falling apart. He was being selfish keeping her bound to him, but keeping Valaina at arms length.

"Come. We need to regroup. We can speak later." she sighed, her sigh was tainted with a thousand regrets and the ultimate fight not to give into her broken heart. She glanced to Daciana and he hung his head the loss of Fillin finally settling in his heart and Sérëdhiel carried the heaviness of his morning on top her own.

She followed the Elven king in silence her pack was quick to keep up before they finally got back to the camp. There was no reason in hiding Daciana and the rest of the pack and so she ordered them to stay close and they settled down, the pack morning over the loss over there Alpha Female. Sera watched Legolas go to Valania and there was nothing she could do. She sat alone, away from the group whipping away a tear that had escaped her deep blue eyes. Daciana came to her nedging her gently before laying down beside her and resting his head on her leg.

"Haldir.." her voice was soothing to him as she drew his attintion with a hand upon the side of his face and he glanced to meet her eyes. "I thought I told you to be careful.." he could see the concern and the sadness in her eyes and he sighed.

She was going o have to get very use to him fighting for her and possibly being very injured. It was expected on this journey. She took his arm gently and began pulling along with her towards her tent and he argued with her momentarily that Legolas would not approve, but she didn't seem to be listening and so he simply gave up. He sat down and watched quietly as she gathered what she would need to take care of his wounded arm, before returning to him.

"I need you to remove your tunic so that I can get to your arm." she said and he hesitated for a moment, another thing Legolas would probably lecture him for later, however eventually he removed it.

As she started to clean his wound and care for it, she began to sing. He'd never heard her sing before and it was hauntingly enticing. He watched her soft features and for some reason she seemed more beautiful to him then he remember. He wouldn't remember when he'd looked at her as though she was other then a child. She'd turned into something more beautiful then her mother. He was strongly drawn to her, like her voice was pulling him in.

When she was finished he pulled his tunic back on over his head and his arm was still throbbing, but the pain was less no and if he was being honest he was too distracted by her to even remember what had happened. She was incredible and he was honored to be protecting her. He knew though that they couldn't stay alone much longer or her brother would murder him.

"Thank you." he breathed as he stood grabbing her arm gently and turning her to face him. He kissed her forehead as a small gesture thanking her. "You have a beautiful voice, Aeweth." he said pulling away and holding her eyes. "I could listen to it forever." he said offering her a gentle smile.

However before he had a chance to say anything else , Calemiron had made himself present cutting in between him and Aeweth, causing Haldir's jaw to clench tightly to keep from to keep from yelling at the younger elf. He was going on and on about how worried he was about the young princess. It was then that it had occurred to Haldir that Cale had been no where around to aid them. He did not speak of it because he did not wish for Aeweth to be angry with them so he simply kept his mouth shut.

"it would be wise of us to join the rest of the group outside." he interrupted however Calemiron did not seem to hear him and so he simply sighed stepping out of the tent himself.

As Aeweth finished with her task, Haldir pulled his tunic back on. She watched him, easily seeing that he was still in pain. However, her gaze drifted to his back. Her eyes rested on the quite obvious scar that ran along his spin. She felt terrible for him. There was no doubt in her mind that it was still painful. She wished that she had a way to take that pain from him..though she did not.

She stood then, tearing her gaze from his form. The male Elf was soon speaking, rising to join her. "Thank you." Haldir gently took hold of her arm and turned her so that they were facing each other. She watched as he leaned down and placed a kissed upon her forehead. She simply nodded to him, as if she would have helped him no matter who he was. "You have a beautiful voice, Aeweth. I could listen to it forever." At Haldir's kind words, Aeweth smiled brightly.

"Thank you, Haldir. Your words are too kind." She said, returning his smile. Immediately after she'd stopped speaking, Calemiron appeared. The Princess turned her gaze to the Elf, smiling at him. The younger male kept going on about how worried he'd been for her and she was quick to assure him that thanks to Haldir, she was perfectly fine. Haldir's voice soon spoke, "it would be wise of us to join the rest of the group outside." Aeweth had started to listen to the Marchwarden however Calemiron simply ignored the older Elf, continuing to speak to Aeweth.

It was not lost on the Princess that Haldir silently slipped away from the tent. She wanted to follow him but the younger male that was so intent upon spending time with her stole her attention. They remained for some time, the two of them simply happy to be spending time together. The Princess found herself enjoying the male's company.

As Legolas turned his back and began to walk out of the tent, Aeweth slowly sank to her bedroll, tears falling down her face slowly. She tried to be quiet and she doubted that any save a Hobbit of Elf would hear her. She curled herself, trying desperately to calm herself. She'd not been doing anything with Calemiron, they'd simply been talking. She'd not expected her brother to return and immediately seek her out.

She regretted coming now. If this was how the trip was going to be, then perhaps it would be best if she just turned around now. However, she suspected that Pippin would not be pleased with her. The thought caused her to smile slightly before another round of tears started. Why did Legolas have to be so harsh with her? She did not care for his biting words.

Legolas made his way from Sérëdhiel, heading back towards the camp. It did not take long for him to reach his destination. Aragorn and Pippin were at the fire, working on a meal, Haldir nearby as well. He did not see Valaina nor Aeweth. The King was quick to make his way to Haldir. He slightly bowed his head in greeting to the other Elf. "Haldir, I am glad to see that you are all right. And...Aeweth? Valaina?" He needed to make sure that his sister had been taken care of.

It wasn't that he doubted the Elf but he'd seen the power of the creatures that had attacked the group. Only once the Marchwarden had spoken did the King continue. "Thank you, my friend. They both mean the world to me and I would not know what to do without them. Where is Aeweth now?"

He suspected he knew but he wanted to hear it from his friend. He planned on first seeing to his sister before Valaina. He waited, allowing Haldir to speak. It was easy for him to see that Haldir was at least agitated. The words he spoke caused the King to suddenly feel anger. He turned immediately, heading straight for his sister's tent.

He entered without announcing himself, finding his sister with Calemiron...alone...in her tent. "Aeweth! What is the meaning of this?!" Legolas yelled as he came to a stop. It was clear that he'd interrupted them though he'd no idea what had been going on. The other male Elf was quick to excuse himself, the Elf King threatening him as he ran. Aeweth kept her gaze on her brother, eyeing. "Why did you have to do that?" She could not believe how the King was acting.

Legolas could not believe that his sister would even ask such a thing. "You know better, Aeweth. Atar would not approve. It is indecent. You're not..." The King's voice had kept rising. It came to a point that the Princess finally returned his words, tears and anger in her voice. "I'm not what, Legolas!? I'm not allowed to have friends, to spend time with anyone who is not you or Atar?! What I am supposed to do then? Sit inside, locked away from the world? To be kept a secret so that none know I exist? I am not some thing that you can simply do with as you wish nor am I a child. Now, leave me. I've no wish to see you."

The King hesitated. It was clear that he'd upset the Princess. However, he paid no mind. He exited her tent, making his way to Valaina's. Though not before swearing that he'd heard his sister beginning to cry.

Aragorn had been concentrating on the task at hand, happily chatting with Pippin as the two of them cooked. He'd not wanted to leave Sérëdhiel and Legolas alone but by the tone that the Elf King spoke in, he'd known better than to argue. He still could believe how much his old friend had changed in the short years that had passed since last they'd met.

The pair arrived and Aragorn glanced up, watching them. Legolas stopped with Haldir, more than likely asking about Valaina and Aeweth. He suspected that his friend would go to his future Queen first but was quickly surprised when he headed towards his sister's tent. Aragorn rose from his seat, quickly taking after Sérëdhiel. She'd gone off, a ways from the group and he did not wish her to be alone.

He found her rather quickly though slowed his pace as he came to her side, slowly taking a seat. "You should not be away from the group, Sérëdhiel. It is not safe. There could be more dangers waiting for us." He said softly, turning his gaze to the woman at his side. He gave her time to answer before he continued. "Do not let Legolas get to you. It is easy to see that he's lost his way. He is not the same as he was. Know that I am here for you...always." He gently allowed one of his hands to rest on Sérëdhiel's cheek for a short moment before moving it away from her.

Aragorn had always cared for the female Elf though he'd always been drawn back to Arwen. Even now, as he sat with the beautiful Elf, he felt emotions stirring within him. They'd been close..and he had missed her greatly. He offered her a small smile. "I must admit...that I am looking forward to being able to see you. I had missed you."

Sérëdhiel was used to being alone, so it was easy to find herself staying that way even when she was surrounded by so many she had not seen in too long. It was easy to stay in solitude, she could pretend forever that she was strong, but the truth was being around the King of Mirkwood was wearing on her. She had blocked out the memory of how much she loved him for so long.

"You should not be away from the group, Sérëdhiel. It is not safe. There could be more dangers waiting for us." his voice was soft and familiar as he sat at her side. She turned her head glancing to him and holding his eyes.

She wondered why he was so kind to her, when for so long she'd been treated much like the creatures they'd just killed. Then again the mortal king had always been kind to her, he'd stayed with her for sometime when he'd first brought Haldir to her, he stayed with her while she'd taken weeks to heal his friend.

"I do not fear being alone." she spoke softly. There was not much that the Mountain elf feared, she'd already lost everything that she was ever scared to loose.

"Do not let Legolas get to you. It is easy to see that he's lost his way. He is not the same as he was. Know that I am here for you...always." One of his hands touched her cheek gently and she closed her eyes as it lingered their for a moment, a shiver ran through her body, one he could not feel. His warmth was almost shocking, it had been so long since she'd been touched. He dropped his hand and she opened her eyes holding his once again. "I must admit...that I am looking forward to being able to see you. I had missed you."

She'd missed the king more then she realized. He'd always been much kinder to her then any other being. It was almost as if he could see who she really was. There were so many things about the mortal that reminded her of the Elf Legolas used to be. She let silence fall between them for a moment as she reached out gently letting her fingers trace Arwen's necklace that hung around his neck, before her eyes flicked back to his.

"You are a good man, she is lucky to have you." she breathed, her voice was a mere whisper because she was terrified if she spoke any louder she'd cry in front of him. "I've missed you too, your kindness has been ever present with me. Your are not easy to forget my king." her words were soft as she gently ran her hand along Daciana's thick fur. "Legolas is letting his selfish pride run him and it will destroy what he love." she said simply. "But, I will not dwell on what he refuses to see. I admire you though, for sticking by his side." She sighed softly. she allowed him to speak before she continued.

"I've been alone for so long. Even before we first meet when you brought the Marchwarden to me. It is nice to know that you think no different of me, then again to you I was never a monster." she said honestly.

"Haldir, I am glad to see that you are all right. And...Aeweth? Valaina?" The king asked and Haldir was less then excited about where the young princess was and who she was with. The younger elf was always frustrating him with his constent need to seek the blondes attention.
"They are both well. I saw to it that they were protected and out of harms reach." he said simply but it was clear in his body language that he was less then pleased.

"Thank you, my friend. They both mean the world to me and I would not know what to do without them. Where is Aeweth now?" he asked and it was clear in his tone that he was urgent to seek out his sister. Despite their differences he cared for her more then he let on.

"She is in her tent with the young master elf. He is very fond of her, too long in the same room as him, I feel as though I'm going to loose my mind." he said and there was a bitterness to his tone that was hard to miss. He was not fond of the younger male elf, mostly because he was very well aware that there was something off about him.

He made his way over to the fire after the King left him and sat there, exhausted from the fight. His body ached and his arm throbbed. He watched as the mortal king got up and made his way away from the group. He took to listening to the siblings arguing not because he meant to, but because it had caught his ear. Eventually Legolas had left the young princess alone and Haldir her crying softly.

He knew it wasn't his place to go to her and bother her. However, he could not help himself he was drawn to the young princess in a way he could not explain and hearing her upset or sadden, worried him. He got up and made his way to her tent. He wasn't sure if Legolas would be upset, he did not care much though. Legolas had brought him along to care for her and that's exactly what he intended to do.

He cleared his throat, making his presence known as he stepped into her tent. "My lady I do not mean to pry and if you wish I will leave you alone. I however do not wish for you to be alone while you are upset." he said softly. "You know your brother is only looking out for what he thinks is best, he loves you Aeweth and he does not wish for any harm to come to you."

Aeweth was unsure of how long she'd remained crying. Not nearly long enough, she decided. However, the Princess had sat up as she tried to calm herself. However, still tears fell. A short moment later, she heard the sound of someone clearing their throat. The sound startled her though she recovered quickly. "My lady I do not mean to pry and if you wish I will leave you alone. I however do not wish for you to be alone while you are upset. You know your brother is only looking out for what he thinks is best, he loves you Aeweth and he does not wish for any harm to come to you."

Haldir's voice was soothing. The Princess slowly rose from her seat. She had quickly tried to wipe the tears from her face. She did not want the older Elf seeing her in such a way. Only once she was certain that there was little remaining of her tears did she slowly approach the Elf. Within a short moment, Aeweth had reached Haldir. She looked up at him, her gaze filled with relief at seeing him. "I would have you stay." She said softly.

She hesitated for only a short second before she slid her arms about him loosely. She wanted nothing more than for him to hug her..to assure her that everything would be alright. She was silent for a long time, simply taking comfort in Haldir. She was unsure of how long had passed before she finally spoke up. She kept her head on Haldir's chest, remaining still. "Legolas acts as my Atar does. Though I know he loves me..he cannot see clearly. To him, I may be his sister though I shall never be anything more than that in his eyes. The moment we return, I've no doubt that I will return to Mirkwood..to disappear once again. I understand where he comes from..but that does not mean that I care for his actions."

She went silent once again, allowing the Efl to speak if he wished it. A few moments passed and then Aeweth moved. She got on her tip toes, placing a gentle kiss upon Haldir's cheek. It was not something she would have normally done, however, he'd come to be a big help so far on their journey. As she pulled away from the male Elf, Aeweth offered him a smile. "Thank you, Haldir. I do not know what I would do without you."

Aeweth hoped that he could see that she was being honest with him. Truly, Haldir was someone who Aeweth never wanted to leave her life. "Haldir..can I ask you something?" She paused only long enough for the male Elf to answer her before she continued. "Do you see me as a child?" She knew that he'd heard their argument. She simply wanted to know if everyone saw her as Legolas did.

Legolas made his way from his sister's tent, ignoring Pippin's questioning gaze. He would not indulge the Hobbit. The Elf breezed through the tent, coming to Valaina's tent. He did not announce himself, simply entering and closing the flap behind him. The woman rose, her gaze on him. She moved quickly, her hands cupping his face on bother sides. "I was so worried for you, my love. I feared that those creatures would be the death of you."

He took in her words, allowing himself to lean into her touch. He was fond of the woman though she would never hold his heart. Even if he and Sérëdhiel were to end their binding..he would always love her. He just couldn't understand why she was always intent upon fighting. He'd been so happy at seeing her well and alive. Yet, she'd not been as far as he could tell.

The King pulled his future Queen closer, placing a gentle kiss upon her soft lips. "You are unhurt?" She asked as they pulled apart. "I am fine. It was you I was worried about. I am glad to see that Haldir protected you. He is a good warrior. I do hope, however, that in the future you will keep at least a small weapon upon you. At least that way you can try to defend yourself should the need arise."

Valaina smiled up at the King. "Anything for you my love." Legolas remained near the woman. She'd been the last thing on his mind during the attack. A thought that bothered him. Sérëdhiel had been at the front..a place that she should not have been. He simply could not understand it. Valaina was speaking and it took Legolas a moment to realize that she was wanting to eat. He nodded, allowing her to take his arm. Together, they exited the tent and made the way to the fire where Pippin had been still working on a meal.

The Hobbit looked up as they approached smiling. "It's almost ready. Just a minute or two longer." Pippin said and then glanced back down to the pot he'd been stirring. Legolas helped Valaina to take a seat but he remained standing. Where had Aragorn gone? And Haldir? He did not understand how they could simply disappear after the attack they'd just suffered.

Silence settled between them and Aragorn allowed it. He did not care to interrupt the woman's thoughts for he could see that she was struggling with something and it had to do with Legolas. The feeling of Sérëdhiel lightly touching the necklace that was about his neck caused the Human to turn his gaze to her once again. Their eyes met and he held her gaze steadily.

"You are a good man, she is lucky to have you. I've missed you too, your kindness has been ever present with me. Your are not easy to forget my king. Legolas is letting his selfish pride run him and it will destroy what he love. But, I will not dwell on what he refuses to see. I admire you though, for sticking by his side." The Elf said. Aragorn was silent, still, for a moment before he spoke.. "Legolas will hopefully see what he is doing before the end. We must have faith in him. He is a dear friend to me and we have been through much together. I could not abandon him now."

Sérëdhiel continued after he'd stopped talking. "I've been alone for so long. Even before we first meet when you brought the Marchwarden to me. It is nice to know that you think no different of me, then again to you I was never a monster." Aragorn smiled gently at her words. "I could never think any less of you, Sérëdhiel. You are now as you were then. I shall always admire you. You are different than most."

He placed a gentle hand upon her shoulder before he rose from his seat. He then turned to offer her a hand up. "We should probably return. Pippin should be finishing up the meal soon. Food will do us all some good. Don't worry...I will remain by your side and the King shall not bother you this day. Besides, it is likely that his Queen will be demanding his full attention."

"I could never think any less of you, Sérëdhiel. You are now as you were then. I shall always admire you. You are different than most." he spoke kindly to her and she gave him a soft smile. He placed a hand gently on her shoulder and his touched warmed her. He rose then and offered his hand she took it without hesitation. "We should probably return. Pippin should be finishing up the meal soon. Food will do us all some good. Don't worry...I will remain by your side and the King shall not bother you this day. Besides, it is likely that his Queen will be demanding his full attention." she nodded understanding and thanking him.

She linked her arm with his and something about it felt right. A part of her almost wished that long ago before the mortal King met Aragorn, that she’d have meet him and he’d have fallen for her instead and filled the emptiness that Legolas left behind. Sure her heart belonged to the King of Mirkwood, but that didn’t change the fact that Aragorn calmed her and made her honestly happy. It was confusing to her the things that Aragorn made her feel, although she’d never act upon her feelings for him because his heart belonged to Aeweth and as much as she envied the Elf Queen, she would not intentionally hurt her so.

She knew Legolas would not be happy with her current closeness to the mortal man, but she did not care. He was on a kick of controlling the people around him and everything they did. However, she would not let him have the satisfaction of controlling her or her choices. As the two got to the camp, Daciana followed behind the two of them closely, she could already feel Legolas’s eyes burning into her and she merely smirked as she lend in kissing Aragorn’s cheek and letting them linger there a moment to long as a thank you to his kind words. She allowed the king to help her sit before he sat next to her and tiredly she lend her head on his shoulder. She pretended that the fight hadn’t affect her but the loss of Fillin was wearing on her spirit, because Fillin had taken part of Sera’s soul when she’d died.

"I would have you stay." she said gently and he nodded. Her arms came around him loosely then hugging him gently and like always he hesitated first before wrapping his arms gently around her. As he held her, his good hand ran gently up and down her spine as if trying to comfort her. They stayed like that for a long time and he did not want it to end. Holding her felt incredible, she belonged there in his arms he’d decided that, but he would not state it. “Legolas acts as my Atar does. Though I know he loves me..he cannot see clearly. To him, I may be his sister though I shall never be anything more than that in his eyes. The moment we return, I've no doubt that I will return to Mirkwood..to disappear once again. I understand where he comes from..but that does not mean that I care for his actions."

“Legolas will not lock you away again.” he said simply as if he had means to stop it. “Celeborn nor I would allow that to come upon you.” he said sternly however his voice was still gentle as he spoke.

She seemed to listen to his words, before leaning up on her toes to press her soft lips against his pale cheek and there was a spark in the kiss he’d never felt before. She pulled away from him then and he had the urge to pull her close and kiss her lips, but he did not. He knew that it was not appropriate. Nothing could become of them, she was the future Queen of Lothlorien and he was to be her Marchwarden for the rest of his days. She offered him a small smile and he returned it with one of his own.

"Thank you, Haldir. I do not know what I would do without you." he nodded at her words able to hear the honesty and it made him feel important that she looked to him when she was feeling vulnerable or needed help. "Haldir..can I ask you something?" she paused allowing him to answer but he was silent answering with a simple nod of his head. "Do you see me as a child?" She knew that he'd heard their argument. She simply wanted to know if everyone saw her as Legolas did.

He let silence fall between them for a moment as he thought of what to say. She was not a child although for much of the time he had spent with her she had been a child. Now, however she’d proved herself to him that she was no longer a child. Even if Legolas choose not to see how she’d matured he could see it simply in the way she spoke and handled situations. He held her eyes a smirk painting his elven features.

“You are not a child to me my lady.” he breathed. “You are strong minded, brave, and stubborn. Things you were not as a child. I would not think a child would be the first to volunteer her life for a world she has not yet seen all of.” he spoke honestly. “And, I would not think a child to be so beautiful. ” he said offering her a smile. “I hope to have eased your mind. Now, come your brother will not take well to you not showing up to eat something.” he offered his arm to her to escort her.

Aeweth watched Haldir as she waited for the Elf to answer her. He smirked at her and then answered. “You are not a child to me my lady. You are strong minded, brave, and stubborn. Things you were not as a child. I would not think a child would be the first to volunteer her life for a world she has not yet seen all of. And, I would not think a child to be so beautiful. I hope to have eased your mind. Now, come your brother will not take well to you not showing up to eat something.” She had seen the honesty that he spoke with. It warmed her heart.

She took his offered arm, "You've been too kind to me, Haldir." She took his offered arm, moving closer to him. "Promising that I shall not be hidden away again, and easing my mind when you did not have to..how ever am I to repay such kindness?" She smiled up at him as she allowed him to lead the way out of her tent. They were soon walking towards the others who had already began handing out food.

It was not lost on Aeweth that Calemiron was no where to be seen. Not that she was surprised. Legolas had been fairly harsh when he'd found them together. She decided not to dwell on the thought. As she and Haldir made their way to the group, the Princess could feel her brother's gaze on her. She knew fully well how it likely looked to him, seeing her leaving the tent with the older Elf.

Aeweth said nothing to Legolas, pointedly ignoring him. If he was going to act a fool, then she had nothing to say to him. Pippin glanced her way, a bright smile finding its way to his face at the sight of her. "Princess! You must sit with me and try this! I cooked it you know." It was easy to see that he was proud of himself. Aeweth pulled Haldir with her. She released him only as they neared the Hobbit.

She took a seat next to him and then glanced to Haldir as if waiting for him to join them. A moment later Pippin was stealing her attention, handing her a bowl that had been filled with soup. She passed it to Haldir, offering him a smile before another bowl was presented to her. As she was getting ready to eat, Legolas suddenly began yelling. His voice had nearly startled the younger Elf. She sent her gaze to him, watching him curiously.

Legolas was unsure of how long they'd waited for the others. He was quickly loosing his patience. His sister was still not with them. However, he was saved from having to hunt her down as she emerged from her tent with Haldir. He immediately took notice of their closeness and realized that they'd been alone within her tent. Anger suddenly came to his face though he was trying not to say anything.

As Aeweth and Haldir made their way past him, he realized that the younger Elf was not paying him attention. She was angry with him. He tried not to let it get to him. She joined Pippin and soon was served. It was then that Sérëdhiel and Aragorn returned. The Elf King turned his gaze to them, taking note of how close they walked together. Sérëdhiel took note of Legolas's gaze and placed a kiss on Aragorn's cheek.

A hot white burning anger suddenly flared through his being at the sight. However, he tried to hold it in. Aragorn and the female Elf took their seats and soon enough her head was on the Mortal's shoulder. Legolas's eye was nearly twitching in anger. He watched them for a long moment, truly fighting the urge to say something to them. Everyone around him was eating and enjoying the evening together. Even Aeweth seemed to be having a good time with the two she sat with.

It was as the meal began winding down that Legolas could no longer keep his mouth shut. Aragorn seemed to be giving Sérëdhiel his attentions. Not something a married man should be doing. Not that it could be seen as overly affectionate...it was just that the male Elf was engulfed in jealousy. He suddenly spoke to the female, using their language. "Sérëdhiel..What is it that you think you're doing?" His voice had slowly gotten a bit loud and he slowly rose from his seat, his pale gaze settling on her.

"He is married and here you are throwing yourself at him. It is demeaning. And more importantly...you are still bound to me. Do you not feel your body rejecting such a touch that is not mine? You had best remember your place..before you destroy someone's life." His words were cruel and he knew it. Though, he did not care. It hurt him every time he kissed Valaina though he'd gotten good at ignoring it. Though, that did not make it easier. He simply could not believe that Sérëdhiel was fine.

Dinner had been good everyone seemed to be getting along and seemed to be happy just to be around each other, everyone except the King of Mirkwood. His anger was so think in the air it could be cut with a knife. Because she was bound to the elven king she could feel his anger crushing her and she couldn't help but enjoy his jealousy. She was really doing nothing wrong with the king, he treated her good and she was simply being friendly with him, however she knew Legolas was fuming.

She was surprised when he lasted as long as he did, because it wasn't only her and the mortal getting under his skin it was his sister and the Marchwarden as well. They'd come out of the tent together when it was clear Legolas didn't want anyone alone with his sister. Finally thought, towards the end of dinner that he finally spoke up.

"Sérëdhiel..What is it that you think you're doing?" she did not like the tone he was taking with her and even before he continued she knew this would end badly. He eyes followed him as he rose from his seat as he continued to speak in their langauge so no one else could understand his words. "He is married and here you are throwing yourself at him. It is demeaning. And more importantly...you are still bound to me. Do you not feel your body rejecting such a touch that is not mine? You had best remember your place...before you destroy someone's life." his words were accusing and harsh and it pissed her off.

She stood from her seat then refusing to back down from him, almost as if she was challenging him to say something else. She knew that most would not stand up to the king, but she was fearless. She held his eyes a dark look in her deep blue eyes it was obvious he'd pushed her to her breaking point and he would be sorry.

"Remember my place?" she spat bitterly in a language everyone could her, if he was going to yell at her in front of everyone she would not let him hide like a coward hind their language. "I know my place, It's next to you. Why do you not tell them all the truth?" she said boldly, before turning her gaze to Valania. "The reason he refuses to bind to you, is because he is still bound to me. His Atar replaced me with you and told him I was dead." she said simply in front of everyone, her hatred for Thranduil was clear in her voice, she turned her eyes back to the king.

"You will not stand here and make a fool of me, like your Atar did." she hissed shaking her head as if she was disgusted with him. "I understand that I'm unimportant and insignificant to you Legolas, that is fine...I've numbed myself that is why I don't feel the rejection of another's touch. I'd die to know you loved me...but I see now that you never did." she spat in their language before disappearing into her tent.

"You've been too kind to me, Haldir." she said taking his arm and moving closer and he gave her a soft smile. "Promising that I shall not be hidden away again, and easing my mind when you did not have to...how ever am I to repay such kindness?" he nodded like it was nothing. He'd always be there for her, she meant more to him then she probably should. Not that he would speak of his feelings for the princess openly.

He led the princess out enjoying there closeness, however as her brother laid eyes on the two of them, Haldir could almost feel his anger just through his gaze. He did not fear the king, however he feared what he was becoming and although Legolas was a dear friend of his, he would not hesitate in hurting him if he had to protect the Aeweth. Haldir had already been weary of him since he had acted the way he had back in Lothlorien in front of everyone.

Everyone seemed to be having a good, except for the King of Mirkwood and it was clearly written all over his face. However, Haldir ignored him, making a mental note to speak with the king later. Dinner was coming to an end and Haldir was getting ready to excuse himself to head to his tent for the evening, he was exhausted from the having fought and being injured. Only before he had a chance Legolas's voice was angry and patronizing as he spoke to the dark haired elf in a language that he could not understand. It wasn't long though before the female Elf fired back but this time her words were clear enough for all of them to hear.

It was silent as she spoke of their past and it was hard for Haldir to believe that Thranduil would do such a thing. Before anyone could step in however, that dark haired elf disappeared into her tent.

"Legolas it is not my place to speak out, nor is it your place to bring such issues up on this journey." Haldir said clearly as if stepping in to defuse the situation before it got any worse. "This is not the time nor the place for any of this, especially not after the events of today." he said at it was clear that the Marchwarden's patients was wearing thin. he turned to the young princess then. "My lady, let me walk you to your tent. We should all get some rest." he breathed offering his hand.

Aeweth was surprised at Sérëdhiel's words. She had no idea that Legolas was bound to anyone, let alone this dark haired Elf. She knew to keep quiet as the angry words flew about them. It seemed like a short time passed before Sérëdhiel was leaving, heading to her tent. Haldir then spoke his mind to her brother before turning his attention to her. "My lady, let me walk you to your tent. We should all get some rest." Aeweth smiled at Haldir, taking his hand and allowing him to help her up.

Before moving any further, Aeweth bid Pippin a good night and the Hobbit did the same, smiling. "Mind you remember, Marchwarden, why you are here. That should be the only thing that you set your focus upon." Her brother's words caused Aeweth to eye him with annoyance. He was acting like a child.

Aeweth waited a short moment, allowing Haldir to reply to Legolas if he wished it before gently pulling him along with her and away from the angry King. Only once they were a bit away from him did Aeweth speak. "Do not allow Legolas to get to you. He does not like it when he's unable to control those around him. It's getting to him."

They arrived shortly at her tent and Aeweth turned to face Haldir, looking up at him. She offered him a smile. "Thank you for escorting me. Try to get some rest. I have a feeling that we will not be afforded this same luxury often once we are fully out in the world. Besides, you are wounded. It will help you to heal the more rest you get. Goodnight, Haldir." The Princess placed a kiss upon the Marchwarden's cheek before entering her tent. She waited, listening as he made his way from her.

Only then did she get ready for the night. Aeweth decided to leave her current outfit on, only removing her boots, and then laid down. She tried to get comfortable but this was her first time sleeping on the ground. She couldn't say that she liked it but she would not speak of it to anyone. She'd wanted to come and nothing was going to deter her.

Aeweth had to admit that she was rather excited at the thought of their first destination. Rohan. She'd never seen anything save for Mirkwood and LothlĂłrien. She wondered how the Human Realm was. She knew of it, of course, in her studies she had been taught of all of the major realms. She even knew that her own horse had come from the Realm. She was glad that, even though they'd run into some trouble along the way, that they were taking the longer route. She enjoyed seeing the world.

Haldir stayed near her most of the time unless she was with Calemiron. She had gotten very close to the younger male Elf. She was slowly beginning to spend more and more time with him. Of course, she made sure that her brother was unaware of her actions. She knew that the Elf King was not in the best of moods and so had stayed far from him.

Aeweth had taken to wearing her outfit that Celeborn had gifted her before they'd left. She loved it and it made her feel like she wasn't Legolas's little sister. That she was someone of importance. She'd said as much to Haldir on the first day that she'd worn it. She rode next to Haldir that day..that is, until Legolas decided that it was time for them to make camp.

The Princess brought her horse to a stop and dismounted. She straightened her clothing before turning her gaze to Haldir. She had wanted to speak with him however, Calemiron approached her, beginning to help her with unpacking the horse and then he began to put her tent up. Aeweth made sure to make sure her hair was still fixed in the fashion that she'd been wearing it since they'd left the Golden Wood. She knew that Haldir would likely find her later. But, for now, she went about speaking with Calemiron.

He watched as Sérëdhiel rose from her seat. Legolas allowed himself to watch her steadily. He couldn't say that he cared for the way that she was acting. She was angry, that much was clear. Her eyes spoke volumes..and for a split moment Legolas wished that he'd not allowed his anger to get the better of him. "Remember my place? I know my place, It's next to you. Why do you not tell them all the truth?" Sérëdhiel's voice was clear, easy for everyone to hear. Legolas felt his face go blank as he watched her. He decided not to speak, knowing that it was simply best to allow her to continue.

Her gaze turned to Valaina. "The reason he refuses to bind to you, is because he is still bound to me. His Atar replaced me with you and told him I was dead." Legolas could suddenly feel his future Queen's angry stare as she took in what Sérëdhiel said to her. It was likely that he would here more of this later. Sérëdhiel was suddenly looking at him again and the King met her gaze. "You will not stand here and make a fool of me, like your Atar did." Her anger was seeping through to her voice. His eyes narrowed dangerously, as if trying to warn her to back down.

Though, she did not pay him any mind. "I understand that I'm unimportant and insignificant to you Legolas, that is fine...I've numbed myself that is why I don't feel the rejection of another's touch. I'd die to know you loved me...but I see now that you never did." The female Elf did not wait around, heading to her tent. Legolas most likely would have followed her if Haldir had not spoken up. "Legolas it is not my place to speak out, nor is it your place to bring such issues up on this journey. This is not the time nor the place for any of this, especially not after the events of today."

The King was fuming by this time. He watched as his friend was speaking to his sister. Only after the young female had risen and bid Pippin a good night did Legolas finally speak. "Mind you remember, Marchwarden, why you are here. That should be the only thing that you set your focus upon." Though his words were not all that harsh, his tone was. The King turned immediately, heading off to his own tent.

It did not take him long to arrive and he was quick to enter. He knew that he needed to speak with Velaina but he couldn't bring himself to. Not yet. She would be asking questions..and he didn't really want to deal with that just yet. He was quick to ready for bed and was soon lying down.

Their first destination was the realm of Rohan. They had been traveling for nearly a month now. It was taking them much longer than they had expected. They'd been attacked, forced to take the Mountain Pass. It was a longer way to the Human Realm but it would be safer than the more direct route that they'd been planning on taking. That day, they had traveled for most of it. Legolas was not speaking to hardly anyone at the moment. During their trip, the King had spoken to a few of the others though it had been obvious that he was in a rather sour mood.

He still took the lead, allowing himself to slowly come to a halt. "We should make camp here." He said, sliding down from his horse. Legolas set about fixing up his tent and then helped Velaina with hers. She was still cross with him though she, at least, was trying to get over her anger. The future Queen stood, watching, as he went about his task. He knew that she wanted him to separate himself from Sérëdhiel though Legolas was still holding firm.

The month had passed by slowly as they traveled again they were attack and thankfully none of them feel to the enemy. She had not spoke to Legolas since the night they had fought, she refused to let him blame her for what his father had done to the both of them. He refused to see it and as much as the thought of it killed her she wished he'd finally come to terms with the fact that eventually he'd have to unbind from her, the longer he put it off the worse it would be. He was selfish and couldn't stand the thought of not being able to control those around him and he was becoming unbearable.

She'd become maybe a little too close with the mortal king. He was the only one who knew of her connection to the darker animals and he was understanding of her visions. He cared for her and it was hard not to feel drawn to him. She'd always felt drawn to him, it just wasn't as strong as her pull to Legolas, because no matter what he could always pull her back to him no matter what he did, not that she'd admit that.

Legolas had suggested that they stop for the night and she was not opposed. She dismounted effortlessly from Equinox, however she did not set up her tent. She hadn't for the past few camp sites because she had not slept. Instead she help Aragorn set up his tent. Eventually the camp was set up, they were set to arrive in Rohan tomorrow. She hadn't been since before her race was killed.

She'd known for some time now that the Marchwarden was still in pain from the wounds he'd gotten when Fillin ha died and she watched him now, struggling to set up his tent though he was good at hiding his pain from the others he could not hide it from a healer. She hesitated, because her touch would make him realize who she was, that she'd save him after the battle of Helms deep. She'd asked Aragorn to keep that from him, she knew though she had to help him. She excused herself from the human King before making her way over to the Elf.

The month had passed by somewhat slowly for the Marchwarden, because he'd had to stand by Aeweth's side and watch her grow closer to the younger, more able bodied elf. It was frustrating to say the least, but there was nothing he could do. It was worse when Cale would throw a cocky smirk in his direction and Haldir would simply have to bite his tongue. The group was becoming separated for the most part, they were all fighting over stupid thing and couldn't stand to be around each other. Haldir tried his best to keep the peace but they were all very clearly separated.

He kept to himself though, he refused to let his anger and jealousy get the best of him like the Elf king did. Aeweth already had him to deal with and Legolas was right, his focous was to protect the young princess, not fall for her and that's exactly what he had to keep reminding himself. Legolas had chosen a spot for them to stop and he was ready to ask Aeweth if she needed help but before he could the younger elf butted in and he sighed, grabbing his stuff and setting up his own tent, beating himself up for feeling so jealous of the younger elf.

"Haldir, let me help you." the dark haired elf breathed from behind him and he had to admit he was a little off put by her, they hadn't talked much mostly because he was very unsure of her. The only thing he knew about her was that she was bound to the king. He hesitated as he turned to face. He was unsure of what she meant by helping him, he was practically done with his tent. "I do not wish to harm you. Follow me." She breathed as if she could tell what he was thinking, it was very clear that she was used to people being scared and unnerved around her.

He glanced to Aragorn, because the two of them had gotten rather close and he was almost looking for some kind of reassurance. The mortal nodded his head as if giving him the okay and Haldir followed her to the fire that the Hobbit had started for them. The Mountain Elf gestured for him to sit beside her. She garbed his arm, slowly unwrapping the bandage Aeweth had wrapped around it to keep it clean. It seemed as though it had gotten worse. Haldir watched as she was silent, examining it.

Finally she very slowly ran her fingers across the wound that still looked fresh as if it had just happened. Flashes came to Haldir of being so near death at the battle of Helms Deep and then the face he couldn't quite make out every time he thought about what or who had saved him became clear it was Sérëdhiel who had saved him from death. He watch in amazement as his wound slowly healed before his eyes and the pain dissipated. He was unaware that healers even still existed.

"You are her." he breathed holding her eyes. "The one whom I owe my life to." he spoke gratefully, crossing one arm across his chest giving her a small bow. He had wondered for so long whom had saved his life and Aragorn had said that he'd known nothing. He was beyond grateful for the dark haired elf.

"You owe me nothing. I only did what your friend asked of me." she said simply glancing to Aragorn and Haldir's eyes followed her gaze before their eyes met again. "It is him whom you owe your gratitude to." she said honestly releasing his arm and he glanced to to see there was no trace of injury left.

Calemiron moved easily, putting up the tent. After he'd done that, Aeweth had thanked him before she'd taken notice of Sérëdhiel speaking to Haldir. The Older Elf, after a few moments, followed the other female towards the fire. The two of them sat and within a short moment Haldir's arm was being unwrapped so that Sérëdhiel could look at the wound. Aeweth was too far away to hear them as they continued to speak though she could not say that she liked the way that Haldir was looking at the female..nor his sudden change in body language.

She did not understand the feeling that was welling up inside of her. Only that she needed to get away from the scene. "Thank you for your help, Calemiron. But, I think that I need some time to myself." She said as she continued to watch those that were by the fire. The male Elf at her side eyed her for a moment before nodding. "As you wish, My Princess. I shall take my leave of you. Until later."

And like that she was standing at her tent alone. None seemed to be paying attention to her..save for the Hobbit. Though, she knew that he would not say anything unless pressed for information. She did not take her weapon with her, the though of protecting herself the farthest thing from her mind at the moment. Aeweth slipped out of the camp, slowly making her way to the stream that was nearby. She was not so foolish as to go too far from the group.

She wished that she knew why it had bothered her so to see Haldir with the other female Elf. She knew that nothing could come of it until Sérëdhiel was no longer bound to Legolas. And the way the King was acting..that wasn't going to happen any time soon. But still. She found herself feeling hurt..and even angry at the Marchwarden.

Aeweth had also been surprised to find that the dark haired Elf could heal. It was something that she'd never seen before. The Princess tried to push the thoughts from her mind but found herself struggling. She stood at the water's edge, simply looking out towards Rohan. It would only be a matter of time before someone realized that she was gone and so she decided to try to enjoy the time alone..for however long she was able..even with the feelings she was trying to push down about Haldir and Sérëdhiel.

Once Legolas had finished helping Valaina with her tent, the female Elf pulled him into the tent. He allowed it, moving easily. As they were now alone..for the most part, the female turned on him. "I am still angry with you. I cannot understand why you refuse to end the binding that you have with that creature. Do you still love her? Is that why you refuse?"

Her words were quiet and so it was unlikely that any would hear them. "I understand your anger, my love. I do not end the binding because it will keep her true to us. After this is all over with I will end it. You have my word. I love you..and that is all that should matter." He kissed her then, hoping that she'd bought his words.

It was as he pulled away that he suggested that they join the others. However, he was soon to notice that Sérëdhiel was sitting and speaking with Haldir. He did not care what it looked like. He made his way with his future Queen closer to the fire before taking a seat near Aragorn. Though he was still not really speaking much, Legolas was still glad that the Mortal did not seem angry with hi.

A few moments passed and that was when the King took notice that Aeweth was nowhere to be seen. "Where is Aeweth?" He suddenly asked Haldir, not caring if he was interrupting. His sister meant everything to him and he would not see her harmed. He turned his gaze to Haldir, eyeing him expectantly.

Sérëdhiel finished healing his wound before Legolas spoke up asking where the princess had gone. Haldir seemed to let reality catch up with him and without a word he slipped away into the trees to look for her leaving Sera alone and she smiled softly. It was very clear to her that the two were fond of each other in fact they reminded her a lot her when her and Legolas were young. If Legolas had the slightest feeling she was in danger he used to take off after her with the same worry Haldir had taken off after Aeweth.

The dark haired elf took the slight commotion of trying to find Aeweth to disappear herself. She could feel her vision starting to blur and the last thing she wanted to do was have one of her gruesome visions in front of everyone. They wouldn't understand and she didn't want to have to explain. Something had changed, that much she knew she could feel it. She was trying her hardest to fight of the vision, but there was only so much she could do and when she was finally alone she lend up against one of the trees and slide down the length of it.

She was watching this vision from third person. It seemed as though it was after Burum's raid. After they had defeated him and things returned to the way the should be. She watched as Aeweth was crowned The Lady of the wood, to watch of Lothlorien for the rest of her days and by her side it was Haldir, but not as her Marchwarden as her King.

She knew then something had changed the course of fate and it was Haldir. Before, her visions had been of Aeweth's death, because of her own brother. However, now that Haldir was growing fonder of her, he refused to let any harm befall her. Her death and Legolas's selfish pride however had not changed.

When she awoke from her vision Daciana's head lay on her lap as if to comfort her and she sighed exhausted. He hand ran along the wolves head. "My lady, he is wearing on your already exhausted mind." Daciana spoke but only the Mountain elf could hear him as he spoke of Legolas. "You have done your job and warned them of this darkness. We should go home." He spoke calmly.

She left it fall silent for a moment before she spoke. "I understand your worry, but I can not run from this Daciana and neither can you." she spoke calmly to the wolf.

Haldir had been taken by the elf, not because he suddenly loved her or because he thought she was beautiful. She was beautiful. but she clearly belonged to Legolas that much was clear simply by the fact that Legolas refused to break the binding that held them together. He was taken by her because fr years he'd wondered who it had been that had saved him, he knew it had to be someone of great healing power. He owed her a lot, yet she refused to take anything and that confused him. He was brought from his thoughts however when Legolas spoke up.

"Where is Aeweth?" he asked Haldir and his blue elven eyes glanced around the camp for a moment and when he could not see her no words were spoke he simply disappeared into the trees to find her.

Haldir had a pretty good sense about him when it came to Aeweth because he felt drawn to her and so where ever she was at that moment there was a soft pull to her and it didn't take long for him to find her. She was unharmed simply at the edge of the water and it looked as though something was bothering her. His steps were light and quite and he doubted she even knew he was there. He was a warrior, sneaking up on enemies was something he was probably something he was a little too good at, especially when he used it on others whom he did not consider his enemies.

He watched her for a moment, before he spoke. She was beautiful. "Aeweth, you scared me. Why did you take off without anyone's knowledge." he breathed concern clear in his voice. "Your brother would have had my head if something would have happened to you."he breathed honestly letting it fall silent for a moment before he spoke again. "May I be so bold as to ask what is bothering you my lady?"

Aeweth was unsure of how long she stood at the water's edge, alone. She was content simply gazing down at the water, allowing the near quiet to calm her. It was only Haldir's voice that suddenly caused the Princess to move, turning so she could see him. "Aeweth, you scared me. Why did you take off without anyone's knowledge. Your brother would have had my head if something would have happened to you." She regarded him only a short moment before she turned back towards the water.

"I am sorry, Haldir. It was not my intention to worry you so." She said, her voice more solemn than it usually was. It did not pass Haldir and he was soon speaking to her again. "May I be so bold as to ask what is bothering you my lady?" Of course he wanted to know what was bothering her. She did not answer him right away, debating in her head what to say to him. She was not pleased at seeing Haldir acting so with Sérëdhiel. It had hurt..badly. Though, she did not understand why.

Haldir was simply her guardian, nothing more. So why, then, did she care how he acted with another female Elf? "Nothing is wrong..I just wanted to be alone for a moment." She finally replied, refusing to look at the older Elf. She hoped that he would not push the question though she knew him well enough to know that he likely would. A short moment later he spoke again, clearly not believing her when she'd said that nothing was bothering her. The Princess suddenly spoke, her annoyance suddenly showing through. "Fine! Yes! Something is bothering me."

She turned to fully face Haldir, her gaze suddenly locking onto him. "What was that?" She asked him. Aeweth did not pause to think that maybe Haldir wouldn't understand what she was speaking of or that her words could possibly lead the male Elf to believe that she had feelings for him. "The two of you should have just went off to her tent..the way you were acting. Perhaps the two of you would be happy spending our trip together." Aeweth suddenly moved then, briskly trying to walk past Haldir though he stopped her. Her gaze shot to him once again. "You will release me, Marchwarden."

He watched as Haldir took off, looking for Aeweth. Legolas was not pleased that the Marchwarden had allowed the younger Elf to disappear. If anything happened to her..he would never forgive his friend. The King turned his attention back to those that he sat with. It was then that he saw Sérëdhiel had left them. He did not know why or where she'd gone nor did he care to find out.

The King soon rose from his seat, pulling Valaina with him. The female moved with him easily, allowing him to lead her back to her tent. They entered together, the female moving quickly to her bedroll. She took a seat, her blue eyes looking up at the King. "Thank you for escorting me back, my love. I know that I have been rather cross with you. Finding out that you're bound to that...creature was nearly more than I can bare. I implore you, Legolas, end the binding. It will only cause us pain the longer you leave it in place."

"Valaina..you know that it is not so easy to end such a tie. The magic that holds it in place runs deep and it has been in place for a long time. It will take.." Legolas suddenly went silent as her felt an intense pain ripping through his body. It was almost as if someone was trying to rip his heart out. Sérëdhiel. Could she really be foolish enough to try to end their bind on her own? It was impossible unless he was willing..which he was not.

Valaina was looking at him with concern though he paid her no attention. He turned and left the tent quickly. He tore through the camp, everyone immediately seeing that he was not pleased and so left him be. Legolas walked quickly, searching out Sérëdhiel. He allowed their connection to lead him to her. It did not take him long to find her. "Sérëdhiel! What did you do?" He already knew...he just wanted to hear it come from her. He looked at her with anger, awaiting her to speak.

She felt something burning her skin, it wasn't an unbearable burn, it was a stale ever present burn, that she'd been feeling for sometime now, she just refused to acknowledge it because she knew what it was, she just did not want to face it. She pulled the long silver chain that hung around her neck from underneath her clothing reveling the ring that Legolas had given her ages ago to bind them. She pulled the necklace that held the ring from her neck.

He was not going to end the binding willingly, she knew that not. What he didn't understand though is it was exhausting her, making her weak. Not mention having to see him pretend to love Valania, sometimes it was hard to believe he didn't. He was much kinder to the future Queen then he was to Sérëdhiel. He refused to see what his father had done to him and she refused to let him continue to be so selfish as to not let her go and let her move on when he was clearly moving on himself.

Daciana seemed to realize that she was doing something she shouldn't when she began to start a fire and he tried to stop her from whatever she was about to do, but she refused to hear him. The magic that bound them was in the ring he'd given her. The fire was small, but it was enough to melt the ring and unbind them. She hesitated as she held the ring above the fire, Daciana was begging her to stop and think things through, but she'd spent too much time thinking about it.

A pain surged through her body as she held the ring over the fire, causing her to drop the ring into the fire. Her chest burned and it felt as through someone was stabbing her. "Sérëdhiel! What did you do?" she head his voice and it didn't sound as familiar to her now as it always had.

She stood, pain raging through her body. She held his eyes and she hoped that she could distract him long enough to keep him from stopping what she started, because she knew it would take longer then a couple minuets to melt the ring back to is original form.

"I am doing what you have failed to do. I'm doing this for the both of us Legolas. We were never meant to be and that is clear to me now, more then ever." She said weakly and she fought the urge to break down, because she could feel herself loosing him, as if she was loosing herself.

He kept his full attention on the princess, he could tell just by looking at her that something was wrong. He'd been with her for sometime no and had developed a sensitivity to when her moods were anything but happy. he may be good at hiding it from everyone else but he was not buying it. "Nothing is wrong..I just wanted to be alone for a moment." she replied pulling him from his thoughts and he sighed, slightly irritated. He couldn't remember what he'd done to her or what anyone else might have done.

"Aeweth, I have known you since you were a child. There is something very clearly bothering you. I can't help you if you refuse to tell me." he breathed sounding a bit harsher then he'd meant to now that they were alone. He didn't even realize that his words sounded irritated, because he'd become that comfortable with her, he felt he could peak openly.

"Fine! Yes! Something is bothering me." the irritation was clear in her voice and he kept his eyes on her. SHe turned to face him and he met her eyes refusing to look away. "What was that?" she asked and it took him no time at all to realize exactly what she was refering to. "The two of you should have just went off to her tent..the way you were acting. Perhaps the two of you would be happy spending our trip together." she practically hissed at him and he rolled his eyes.

Normally the Marchwarden was very gentlemen like and poised when he was around others. He never faltered in his actions, but the young princess did something to him he couldn't quite explain, made him feel emotions he'd never felt and at the moment he couldn't control his frustration with her. She tired to slip past him and before he'd even realized, he'd stopped her grabbing her sternly by her upper arm and reusing to let her go as he held her eyes.

"You will release me, Marchwarden." She ordered but he did not listen, which was out of character for him as for as Aeweth knew, she'd known him as kind and gentle and always following the orders he was given.

"I will not." he breathed simply holding her eyes. "You have formed a conclusion in your head, that could not be farther from the truth my lady. If you think of me that low as to become entangled with some who still very clearly holds your brothers heart, you know nothing of me." he sounded honestly hurt. "My loyalty lies with you, the future Queen. Remember that, because whether you want to believe it or not, your heart is being blinded " he breathed without even realized what he'd said and referring to her ever growing closeness with the younger elf.

"She saved my life. If it wasn't for her, I would not be here. My apologize for showing my gratitude to her." he breathed releasing her. "You should get back to the camp before Legolas has my head." he said still clearly agitated with her accusations and honestly hurt by what she thought of him.

He didn't wait for her to go instead he started to head back himself. He wasn't sure what had come over him, but he couldn't find it in himself to turn around and beg for her forgiveness. If she was to become cross with him this time, he did not have it in him to care. He'd done nothing and he had never been as low as man. Nor would he be bold enough to become distracted by love while he was meant to protect Aeweth.

Aeweth was surprised when Haldir did not listen to her. However, she did not allow this to show. He'd never acted in such a way with her before. "I will not. You have formed a conclusion in your head, that could not be farther from the truth my lady. If you think of me that low as to become entangled with some who still very clearly holds your brothers heart, you know nothing of me." She allowed him to hold her gaze, refusing to look away as he continued to speak. "My loyalty lies with you, the future Queen. Remember that, because whether you want to believe it or not, your heart is being blinded "

The words he spoke then, confused her. She would never be a Queen. Not unless something happened to Legolas, which she would not allow. However, she was distracted as she realized that Haldir was also referring to Calemiron. She did not understand why he would say such a thing. As far as she was concerned, Aeweth did not believe that her heart was being blinded (as the male had said).

The Princess allowed her expression to remain blank, simply allowing the older Elf to continue without interruption. "She saved my life. If it wasn't for her, I would not be here. My apologize for showing my gratitude to her." It was then that Haldir released her and Aeweth took a step back from him. It was not that she thought that he would harm her..she'd just simply felt the need to put space between them. "You should get back to the camp before Legolas has my head."

It was easy to see that Haldir was agitated, he didn't even wait for her, simply turning and heading back towards the camp. Aeweth watched him for a long time, allowing him to disappear from her sight. Only then did she move from her spot. She walked slowly, not wanting to have to see Haldir again. She kept her senses alert though she doubted that she would come across anything.

Within a few short minutes she arrived back at camp. The Princess kept her normal appearance though said nothing to anyone that was still gathered, chatting together. Instead, she immediately went to her tent and pulled the flap closed behind her. Only once she was alone did Aeweth change into something to sleep in and then she undid her hair. Then, she went ahead and got into her bedroll, pulling her blankets up and around her.

She was suddenly fighting tears and forcing herself to be silent. She did not like Haldir being upset with her. She wasn't even sure why she'd thought that he and Sérëdhiel were acting so, now thinking on it. She'd been foolish and now she'd caused a rift between her and Haldir. Aeweth was far too proud to go to him..to apologize. He likely wouldn't even listen. It was likely to be a long next day. After having spent another couple of minutes trying to get her emotions under control she was finally able to calm down a bit though remained curled up in her blankets.

He watched as Sérëdhiel rose. Legolas continued to feel pain shooting through his body. Angry blue eyes gazed at the dark haired Elf. "I am doing what you have failed to do. I'm doing this for the both of us Legolas. We were never meant to be and that is clear to me now, more then ever." She said and it was clear to Legolas that she was suffering as much as he was. She knew that this sort of magic was hell to break. What had caused her to want to do such a thing?

He suddenly took hold of her arm, bringing her closer to him. Another sharp and stabbing pain suddenly ripped through his heart. "Sérëdhiel..you are being rash and foolish. Are you trying to kill us?" The pain was nearly crippling and the King was struggling to concentrate. He moved from her suddenly, ignoring her. There was only one way that she would have been able to try to destroy the ring. The fire...he'd paid no attention to it when he'd arrived.

The Elf suddenly began kicking dirt into the fire, trying to put it out. It took him a few short moments but as the flames finally went out, the pain let up though only slightly. He knelt down, taking a stick that was sticking out of the fire pit and began moving around dirt, looking for the ring. It took a few moments before he found it, picking it it up with the stick. The King looked at it, glad to see that it was still in perfect shape. He rose slowly, turning his gaze back to Sérëdhiel.

"Clearly, you cannot be trusted. I will keep the ring until this quest is done. Only then will I end the binding. My reasons are my own though I know you would never understand." He said, his voice stern. He pulled the ring from the wood, it was now cool to the touch. He then removed his necklace and placed the ring upon it. She would have to get quite close to him in order to get it back unless he willed it. He then placed it back around his neck and back under his shirt.

He was angry with her and that was clear. "There is another way to end the binding...one that is much less painful. However, now that you've already tried to rip our hearts apart, it will take me longer to get the required items and it will take a more powerful spell." His voice had suddenly lost the anger, changing to the kind voice he'd spoken to her with so long ago. "Are you alright?" He asked her with sudden concern. He knew that she was feeling the same pain that he was at the moment and though it was easing off it was still quite painful. He wanted things to go back to the way they had been so long ago..but with Valaina...it was impossible.
