Heterosexual

♦Coven or Pack?♦
The Dubois Coven

♦Role♦
Second in Commnd

♦Appearance♦
Remi is about 6'2" with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. He may look to be about twenty-four, twenty-six at the most, he's actually about One-hundred-and-six (It's not yet July to make it 107). Being second in command, he has to keep up a stern and serious face, but there's always a smile tucked in the corner of his mouth or a twinkle in his eye. If he was really angry or serious, you could tell. There would be no smile, no sparkle, and you certainly wouldn't walk away unharmed.

He has a pretty casual style of jeans and t-shirts, but from time to time he likes to dress it up a bit with a suit jacket or sweater and button down shirts. He's muscular in structure but thin. He has a very faint silver scar on his wrist and one on his neck. He has no tattoos and no piercings. Mainly because, as an immortal, permanent markings that make one identifiable make it difficult to move about undetected.

♦Personality♦
Rémy is the kind of guy who has seen so much darkness in this world that he prefers to shed light on the good. Sure he's a creature of the night who sucks the life from the veins of the living, but there are worse games to play. When in a fight, he would prefer to use his words. Provoke and evade until the enemy tires of the game. That's his strategy. When it comes to his pack, he's supposed to be stern, but he can't help crack a joke or a few sarcastic remarks. He likes to make better a grim situation. If a situation is truly doomed, you'll know. He's a huge flirt and often acts, but never anything serious or damaging. At least, not physically. He's left a few broken hearts behind him, but in his opinion they're better off without him. He's too dangerous. Or so he thought anyway.

He's also the kind of person who doesn't let himself be pushed around. Especially when it comes to his brother. Being second in command doesn't mean he just blindly follows his brother's orders. He acts as his brother's adviser in a way. He helps him see things that he wouldn't normally see on his own, or allows for brainstorming of strategies and other things to help him lead the coven the best he can. He provides for his coven in anyway he can. It's just the type of guy he is.

♦History♦
Rémy Dubois was born in 1882 in Paris, France. In those days, the Eiffel Tower was shiney and new and Russia and England were allied with France. For as long as Rem could remember it was just his older brother, his mother, and himself in their home. When Rem was four-years-old, his father left them for a young, beautiful actress. Their mother, who married their father young, had never worked a day in her life before then and suddenly found herself with nothing. She took on a job that allowed her to get quite a bit of money quickly. Even better yet, it chained her to someone else. She became an escort of sorts. Rem can still remember the times his mother came home with a man and his brother would take him, hide, and try to distract him. When he was younger, he thought nothing of it, but as he got older, he began to understand and came to resent his mother a little. Why would she allow men to use her in such a way, he wouldn't understand. There were other jobs... weren't there?

Unfortunately, leading such a life lead to her death and, for all her work, her boys were on the street. Remy learned to deceive and distract in order to have full stomachs or at least something in them in general. No matter how lost he seemed, he knew his brother would always be by his side. As soon as they were able, the boys took up jobs and soon found themselves a home-small as it was- and worked their way up.

Eventually, they were approached by a wealthy businessman with a proposition. He would give them jobs and experiences they would never dream of normally, and a family. He had been observing them and liked what he saw. He told them that these things came with a price: their lives. Or at least, their lives as they knew them. Rem was eager to accept to finally feel comfortable with his life, to have some control. Family was a bonus. He already has his brother, what more could he need? Who knew that blood could change the world?

To Rem, life was an adventure now. Things were clearer and brighter (though that often gave him headaches). Along with their new lives, those that come with blood and fangs, the boys were also given rings that allowed them to move about in the sunlight which definitely helped with business, but Rem still prefered the night. In 1912, he decided to join his adopted father across the sea in America. There was a ship meant to depart from England, to stop in France and Ireland before leaving for New York and, thanks to his acquired wealth, he was granted first class passage. He enjoyed the finer things that he could not have as a child. That is, until the ship began to sink. Woman and children here evacuated first, but before Remy himself was able to board one, the ship sank. The water was painfully cold and the shock of it paralyzed him. He sank, immortal and unable to die. He began to fear for a life lost under the ocean and finally began to fight to the surface. He was eventually rescued and made it to New York. He made his way to Pennsylvania, to his father, and recovered from the shock. To this day, he still isn't fond of the water.

While in America, he found himself becoming a soldier in World War I, a victim of The Great Depression, a soldier in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam war. He witnessed and fought for Civil rights, watched American's land on the moon, and saw many Presidents come and go. He had seen enough of war and violence in his life to make him a pacifist, but now that thins are heating up between werewolves and vampires, he knows that he'll soon have to face a war of their own. He would rather use words than weapons, but sometimes, you need a sharp edge to create peace.

Throughout his life, he's had people come and go, but it wasn't until met one vampire that he began to believe that people could stay.

The night air was cool and crisp as ever within the downtown area. It was a day of festivities all over the downtown area of Bellingstone and it was quite the spectacle every year. Today was the day that everyone within the town of Bellingstone, Pennsylvania have been waiting for. Founder's Day - A day of celebration and the day that the town was founded by the finding fathers. People have lined up to watch the parade, which was long as always and now people were within the town center, awaiting for their mayor to take the stage and give his normal speech about this fabulous day and now night.

Hidden within the crowd, dressed in a black leather jacket, pants and white t-shirt, stood the alpha of the Wolff pack - Nicholas. He had his arms folded over his muscular chest, blending in with the normal townsfolk. His eyes gazed around as he kept a close eye on his pack, making sure every single one of them behaved. Nicholas turned his head back towards the stage as Samantha was up there now, standing behind the podium and waited until the crowd hushed before speaking. "Welcome, people of Bellingstone to the Annual Founder's Day ceremony." A few people applauded as she waved her hand towards the mayor. "And allow me to introduce the mayor, Mr. Maxwell Carter."

The crowd roared as Samantha stepped aside and Maxwell stood up and took to the podium now, waving with a smile. Nicholas didn't bother applauding but he stood there motionless even. "I thank everyone that participated in today's events and organized everything. Obviously, it wasn't me because things would've been all over the place." There was scattered laughter along with his own as he continued speaking. "I stand proud before you today because of this magnificent display that brings a community together." Maxwell waved his hand towards something that was covered up, a statue more than likely.

"And now, my surprise." Once the sheet was ripped off to reveal the status, a body was also there hanging lifelessly with multiple bite marks and even a few scratches. People gasped, screamed and a few collapsed onto the ground while Nicholas stared at the body, noticing that the body wasn't the attack of a werewolf. The mayor walked closer to the display and broke down. "This is my nephew! Who did this?!" The mayor was in a furious rage and demanded answers as the authorities were starting to arriving. Most seemed like it was implemented by someone else. Nicholas' mind automatically went to one word - Vampire. Those vile and disgusting creatures of nature, well then again, so are werewolves but they do not require human blood to live.

Nicholas couldn't bare witness of this sight anymore as he stepped away, authorities all around investigating especially Angie and Christopher. Nicholas waltzed into one of the nearby restaurants and sat down at an outside table, pulling out his cell phone and sending out a massive text to his pack members.

To: The Wolff Pack
Meet me at Gino's Pizza now. Last one here buys dinner.

Nicholas sent the message while a waitress came up to him and asked what we wanted to eat. He licked his lips while staring at her up and down then shook his head while ordering two meat lovers pizzas. The waitress nodded her head and walked back inside. Nicholas even ordered everyone cups of water to go with their pizza. Nicholas sat there, pondering whether or not the vampires might've done this or not. If it was a war they want, a war they were surely going to get but how can two clans of supernatural being war with hunters also lurking in the mist. His eyes caught sight of the mayor on the phone. Nicholas used his enhanced hearing to listen in. "Desmond. It's time."

The air was full of the smells of a carnival--or festival as it was now referred to: popcorn and various fried treats. Rem wasn't much for the fried scene. The grease almost always made him nauseous. The smell wasn't any better. Thankfully they were close to the popcorn so it wasn't too awful. Up here, the wind was cool on his face and the view was the second most beautiful thing he saw. The first, was Eibhlin.

Her flawless pale skin seemed to glow in the moonlight and her grey eyes seemed to shine. The Ferris Wheel stopped with them at the very top and allowed them a few moments to enjoy the view. He hoped that he had timed it right and the fireworks would begin shortly. It was better to view up here anyway. It was far from the excited beating of the human hearts full of the ruby drink he craved, but no. He would never allow himself a taste of it. Or at least, never again. He had seen too much death in his life to bring about more. At least for humans. Vampire had to drink something and animal blood was the second best. Sometimes.

He wrapped an arm around Eva and pulled her close to his side. For the first time, he wished that his body produced heat. It was cool enough up here it could be considered cold. Especially for someone as thin as Eva. The best he could do was block the wind from one side. He leaned over and placed a soft kiss on the side of her head. Her hair smelled like roses. "A penny for your thoughts," he joked. "If I can guess what they are, can I get that penny back?" A smile spread across his face, but it was quickly wiped away by the screaming.

He moved his arm and leaned forward as far as he could in the ferris wheel car without tipping them too far. With his vampiric eyes, he found the source of the commotion. The mayor had revealed a new statue for today, the day they celebrated the founding of Bellingstone by his father, and the ancestor of Nicholas Wolff, and hanging from it, covered in blood and... bite marks? His jaw clenched slightly. It was a body. Someone he had seen a few times around town. Mayor Carter's nephew. If anyone in his coven was responsible for this, they were going to be in for some deep trouble. Especially once his brother found out. Merde!

He looked down below him as the crown scattered like ants. His eyes found Nicholas moving through the crowd before moving below them to see that the operator, because of their curiosity, abandoned the controls leaving the two vampires and the rest of the riders stranded. He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. "It appears we're stuck here for a moment, mon chéri."

The view of the fair was beautiful. Colorful fireworks lit the sky and the sweet smell of confectionery filled the air. The parade went on for the annual anniversary of Bellingstone's founding founders. Sitting beside her in the ferris wheel cart was her love, Remy Dubois.

The ferris cart stopped at the top and gave the two a view of almost everything below them. Many people crowded around the mayor as he gave his speech. She reminiscenced about fairs she went to as a child and all the fun rides she'd go on. After Rem's sweet line and peck on the side of her head, Eva giggled. She playfully slapped Remy's arm with the back of her hand. "That was so cheesy Rem! Did you come up with that yourself?" She smiled along with him but jumped a little as screams came from below. Remy leaned toward the cart window to see what was going on. He looked back at her with a slight change in his expression. He sighed as he ran his hand through his hair.

Eva looked confused and her voice was laced with slight worry. "What is going on down there? How bad is it?" She wanted to know what was going on so she could help, but she knew that it was probably inevitable, and they were stuck in a ferris wheel cart at the moment. "Well, I guess we'll have to wait it out. I'm sure we'll get down in a matter of time and patience. Beidh muid breá (We'll be fine)."

Rèmy's eyes watched out the window for a moment. He was debating whether or not to tell Eva what he was seeing, though he was sure she could see it for herself if she really tried. The fact she didn't meant she probably wouldn't want to know. So he did what he usually did in tense situations. Make it lighter. "Just trouble. Probably those blasted wolves." He leaned back and wrapped his arm around her once more.

"Well at least we have each other and this fantastic view. Although it makes me wish I had my paints." He rubbed her arm up and down as if to warm her. Although if we're stuck up here forever know that I will eat you." To further the joke he nipped at her earlobe once and backed off smiling. Outside the car, he watched the people out of the corner of his eye. He saw the flashing lights of the police cars and could hear the screaming in one of the cars. Probably someone who wasn't fond of tight spaces. He wasn't a big fan of them himself, but the view wasn't bad, the air wasn't stifling, and he had pleasurable company. One of things she had said moments ago finally registered in his brain. "Wait. Of course I came up with the penny thing on my own. I am French. You know how we love our cheese." He winked at her, but his eyes strayed to the statue once more.

First the tourist family and now this. Something strange was going on and he was sure no one in the coven was involved. They were all old enough to know the consequences. And such a public display... No it couldn't be them. Maybe the wolves were trying to frame them. Something hard twisted in his gut as he realized what was going to happen, soon if not already in progress.

The hunters were coming.

Nicholas looked up and saw the waitress bring the pizza out along with Pfeiffer entering the premise. His eyes scanned over her as she sat down beside him now. Nicholas stayed silent during the time she was sitting there until she spoke, saying something about him being worried. "Honestly, Fife, I am." He spoke then leaned over towards her. "I just heard the mayor telling someone that it is time. Meaning hunters." Nicholas whispered while leaning back over just as Anthony and Johanna made their way over.

With a slight eye roll as Anthony ordered a beer, he demanded that they both sit down this instance. "All right, you two, listen up, hunters might be coming into our town so we need to be prepared. Got it?" Nicholas said sternly while pointing directly at the duo. He grabbed a slice of pizza and started chewing on it then looked ahead and saw two vampires stuck on the Ferris Wheel. Nicholas wiped his mouth with his arm then stood up. "Excuse me." He said while turning heel and walked up to the door. "Let me know when Andrew and Urainie gets here." He spoke then walked through the restaurant then through the front door, walking over to where the Ferris Wheel was.

Once there, he looked up and saw Remy as he wiggled his fingers up at him. Nicholas watched as the person handling the ride returned and turned on the device, letting people off as their carts and he was happy to see Remy and his date, Eva on the ground. "Long time, no see, bud." Nicholas said while patting Remy on the back, waving towards Eva in the process.

"We need to talk." He pulled Remy into a nearby corner and spoke softly. "We had nothing to do with this. And I damn sure know your vampires didn't do it. It's too sloppy for your guys type of work." Nicholas mentioned but eyed Remy again. "I am hear to warn you, your brother and your coven. Hunters are coming. Be prepared." Nicholas said while leaning against a nearby building with a sigh.

Boy, just when you thought living in Bellingstone couldn't get any worse, it sure is fixing to. Nicholas waited there to hear Remy's responses towards him.

Eibhlin chuckled. "To be honest I doubt it's 'Just trouble.' I have a feeling it's something worse. There's also this feeling that something bad is going to come from this. But, it may just be me." Eva nodded, looking out at the beautiful view, agreeing with Rem's statement. She squeaked at the nibble on her ear. "You jokester! Keep those fangs of yours to yousrself." She smiled.

Eva watched as people, in a panicked manner, scattered down below. Whatever happened must have been worse than she thought. She still had that deep feeling in the pit of her stomach. Like.. something or someone was going to arrive soon. It was a familiar feeling of danger, and death. She recognized this particular sense. The hunters are coming. She could almost feel the same thought radiating off Rem in waves. Another scream dissapated from one of the police cars. She knew it must've been panic from the aftermath of the event. She really wanted to know what was going on, but at the same time, didn't. Eva looked back at Rem to hear his comment. "And that's what I love about you. You're original." She rested her head on his shoulder.

Eva was pleasantly surprised as the ferris wheel began to move again. Looks like their peace and quiet was cut short. When Eva stepped out of the cart with Rem, she was confused to see Nicholas Wolff, alpha to the Wolff pack, before them. She eyed him as he pat Rem's back, waving at her. She waved back awkwardly, muttering under her breath, "Bud?" She watched Nick pull Rem to a corner to talk. "Must be about the current situation."

While waiting, Eva turned toward where the speech by the mayor was held. What she saw shocked her. She watched as two men began to cover the mayor's nephew, who was covered in a few scratchs and many bites, with a white sheet. "So that's what this is about..." It was definitely the work of a vampire, but she knew it wasn't anyone in the coven. They knew that if they did something like this, there would be consequences. So, who did it? She contemplated this as she waited for Remy and Nicholas to finish their conversation. It was too late to unsee what she didn't really want to see in the first place.

She couldn't even begin to think who would do such a vile thing.

Rèmy smiled shyly. He loved when she said the word love. Especially about him. He leaned his head against hers, as much as he could for being so much taller than her. He gave another gentle kiss on the side of her head. Then her forehead and her cheek and nearly went in for a kiss--then the ride jolted as the operator returned and allowed them to disembark from the car. He nodded a thanks at the operator for no hard feelings and smelled something... kanine. Werewolves.

Right there, just outside the exit of the ride stood Nicholas Wolff. He wiggled his fingers at Rem and all he could think of was My that looks silly on a muscly guy like him. He tensed as Nicholas pat him on the back in greeting. He was not much use to the dogs touching him. Especially Nicholas. Nor did he expect the nickname "bud". Something was indeed wrong. "Um.. Hello to you too, Nicholas." He said, eyeing Eva. He barely got all the words out before he was pulled away.

He couldn't help but feel relieved that Nicholas knew none of his coven members would dare attack a human. Not from this town anyway and certainly not the mayor's nephew. His gut twisted again as Nicholas confirmed his fear. The hunters were indeed coming. "You're right. My people know better, and I'm sure yours are trained enough to know better." At least some of them, he thought with a smile. When it came to Pfeiffer and Johanna, there was bound to be some trouble, but if Nicholas said it wasn't them, it wasn't them. Or he was trying to cover for them and--subsequently--his own ass. However, Rèmy was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"You're positive they're coming? There's no doubt?" He needed to be sure. His eyes darted to Eva. he needed to be sure for her. And the rest of their family. He slipped his phone--probably his favorite invention of the new world--and sent a text to his brother:

Brother,
Assemble the family. There are things we need to discuss.

-Rem

With a sigh, he slipped it back into his pocket. Things were about to get very complicated.

Btw: I messaged Scarlet Loop and they said the coven leader should be done by tomorrow and they'll try to post before they get too far behind.

Anthony smiled as he watched the debate around the table. While his goal hadn't exactly been to raise any paranoia about the hunters, it was an obvious, well sort of, debate around the table as to the nature of the attack. At least none of the werewolves showed any signs of being the guilty one. "Thanks Andy" He said and raised the beer in an obvious statement towards the lower ranking male. "And don't worry about a rebellion through town, anyone with half a brain can see that SOB wasn't killed by some vicious beast. All the evidence we know of points towards the vamps" he continued after a sip. Then he turned his head towards the second in command "While I would love to see you kick Nick's ass, I'm going to be honest with you and say that he went for a talk with the vamps." He could see that Urainie was about to ask which one so he answered her question before it was asked; "That french bastard. Remí, Remuá... or something in those lines."

Grabbing another slice of pizza, Anthony took some time to study the company he had. While all of them seemed calm enough, he could almost smell the stress inside them. He felt it as well of course. They were way too easily confrontable at this restaurant. If the mayor, who somehow knew about the supernaturals in his town, wanted to he could easily round up a mob and come after them with pitchforks and torches. "I'm sorry about your interview" Anthony started aiming his words at Uraine as he looked around, feeling like anyone who looked in their direction wanted them dead. Unwillingly he had started to grow just as paranoid, or more so, as the others. " Its up to you of course; But, I think we should go get Nick and retire to my place for the night" he finally finished while taking a suspicious look around. If it was one thing Anthony hated it was actually caring about a situation, and unfortunately the one the pack found themselves in right now was a bit to flammable for his taste.

The last thing he wanted was to seem stressed out, especially around Jo, Anthony couldn't help his hand shaking as he took another sip trying to calm his nerves. It probably wasn't good for the rest of the pack to see him stressed out like this. With Nick gone Anthony was the highest ranking male amongst them, and while he hoped for Urainie to set the example, it wasn't out of the question that it might have a bad impact on the others if he seemed afraid. So with a deep breath or two Anthony managed to regain his cool. "There's a fair chance that I might be getting paranoid" he started in a tone that suggested he didn't really care much about the situation "But I think the handsome fella over there is shooting us daggers" he nodded towards a guy passing by the outside tables. Anthony hoped that none of the others had caught his brief moment of uncertainty, but he knew that the best he could hope for was that no one decided to point it out.

The waiter came back around and dropped off a cup of ranch for Jo who finally released Ryan. She picked up the slice she had been working on (and had dropped several times now) and dipped it into the ranch before taking a bite. Yes, perfect she thought. She nearly choked on the bite at the look on Fife's face. "I've always done it, Fife. Picked it up in middle school. Pizza without it just isn't the same. It's actually pretty good you should give it a try." She slid the small plastic cup towards Fife.

Her seat neighbors on either side seemed pretty tense as the conversation took on a darker tone as discussions on the hunters continued. She wanted to be skeptical like Tony and believe that maybe he was calling someone else. That the hunters weren't coming. That they wouldn't have to fight or fear for their lives. However, she trusted in Nick's abilities to read situations and if the Mayor called for someone after an attack, it was most likely the hunters.

Ryan's near squeak in response to the question about her interview made Jo pause. That only happened when she was either lying, or telling only half of the truth. She smiled sadly at her alpha and said, "I'm sorry, Peaches. I'd hire you if I could. They don't know what a mistake they made not taking you on."

She looked over at Tony and saw his eyes darting around, searching for a threat. She could see his hands beginning to shake. Oh boy. She reached over and tapped his leg, offering her hand palm up in case he needed something to ground him. To remind him that even if there is a threat, they're all here together and are pretty tough in a fight. They did need to retrieve Nick though. He was with Rèmy though which probably meant that Eibhlin was with him. The thought made her heart ache. She turned and saw her Alpha with the french twit and poor Eva standing off to the side, her hair blowing in the wind behind her. Sending Tony over there could be disastrous. Too much testosterone. Sending Ryan would be the better choice, but Jo wasn't sure how she'd react to the vampires after finding out about the body.

"I'll go," She said, wiping her mouth with a napkin. She stood, offered Tony a soft squeeze on his shoulder as if to say "It's alright" and walked towards her alpha and her past. As she left she heard Tony point out a man staring at the group and preyed she hadn't made a mistake and leaving her pack. At least she knew Ryan could kick some serious ass if she had to. Which helped... a little.

She approached the Alpha silently, as she was taught and cleared her throat.

"Alpha. The pack requests your presence at the table." She grinned mischievously. "Andrew's buying."

He had lived through enough of these that they eventually grew redundant. And so, as his brother and the coven and the rest of the town joined each other in Founder's Day, Matthieu had retired early and returned to the one thing he was still truly passionate about. His bookstore wasn't much, but it meant the world to him.

For a few months, back in the eighties, it had been a law office. But that was short lived - no one needed a lawyer in these parts. And so he had closed that down in the late nineties and the store had remained empty for quite some time. And then he had come home from Columbia and decided to use the space to start one of those hole-in-the-wall sort of bookstores that crop up in small, American towns. Perhaps a tourist would stop by once and a while, but truly, he owned it to have an excuse to own so many books. Matt was a romantic in that sense. Perhaps annoyingly so.

Matt sat on the front steps of the store, which was only a block or two from the festivities. In fact, from where he sat with his cup of coffee, he could watch the fireworks almost as well as if he had been there. He was close enough that he could hear the screams that went up. For a while, he could have mistaken them for excited screams, but no, he knew that sound.

"Putain..." he murmured to himself, standing up slowly and walking into the street. He attempted to look over the heads of the crowd, but they jostled around him, bobbing up and down just as he did, effectively blocking his vision. "Merde!" But now they started to hurry away, knocking into him as he weaved between people. Finally, he grabbed one of the townsfolk by the arm.

"What's the matter?" he asked sharply, jerking his thumb at the square.

"Mayor Cartwell's nephew, man," the woman replied, tugging her arm free. "I wouldn't go there." She continued walking as he stood there, finally able to see now as the crowds thinned out. He knew not how long he stood, staring at the corpse, but it was long enough that by the time he came to his senses, they had begun to cover the poor man. It was his phone that had startled him, and he grasped for it quickly to read what he knew was a message from his brother.

Matthieu could have asked for the details, but he found that to be unnecessary at this point. The Coven would have enough to tell him. And speaking of which, he started to draft a message on his phone, addressing his entire Coven -

Meeting ASAP at my place. Stay on the down low.

And with that, he started down the street quickly, looking about himself in concern. While the humans of the town might not jump to conclusions, he was certain the wolves had already started plotting, scheming. Hell, it could have been them for all he knew. And yet it could have been a vampire as well.

He turned on to his street in only a few minutes. It was a Victorian style place, standing noticeably among the other, slightly less impressive models. With ease, he unlocked his door and left it unlocked for the others. He put on as many lights as he could, set up tea and coffee on the stove, and sat down in his parlor to wait.

He waited politely for Nicholas to respond, but the look in the werewolf's eyes told him all he needed to know. He opened his mouth to bid farewell to him, but stopped short as a small figure walked towards them. She wore a jacket and jeans, ripped at the knees, and boots. Her short dark hair, blew gently in the wind carrying the scent of pizza and pine trees to him. He smirked, his eyes finding the grey of Eva's and took a step towards her. Without acknowledging the young werewolf, he pat Nicholas on his shoulder as he passed. "Looks like your mutts need you. Enjoy your pizza." He only used the insult (if it was infact an insult to them) to ruffle Jo's fur.

He stopped barely a breath from Eva, and tilted her chin up to him. "My apologies, mon chèri." He rested his forehead against hers, looking into those grey eyes that hold him captive every time. He closed his eyes and sighed as if savoring the moment of peace for as long as he can. "My darling, Eibhlin, I'm afraid things are going to be come very dangerous, very soon. I know you can handle yourself, but please don't be surprised if I try to protect you." There was a soft smile on his face as he opened his eyes once more, but there was no smile in there. He was serious, and a little worried. Things had apparently been at peace for far too long, and war was coming. He could hear gunfire, probably from guns containing silver bullets. It was all around them. It was... gone.

Instead, there was a soft vibration from his back pocket. His phone. Matthieu he thought and opened the text from his brother.

Meeting ASAP at my place. Stay on the down low.

He reached down and took ahold of Eva's hand with his free hand and stuffed his phone back into his pocket with the other. The seriousness in his eyes was gone, replaced by their usual amused sparkle. "Our great leader commands we make way for his castle." He bowed before her like a knight. "Come, my princess."

He took a large, "marching" step in the direction of Matt's home and resumed a normal walk. "I'm not sure I'm fond of festivals. It appears there is too much death to be had. Although, I always have a grand time when I'm with you."

Nicholas looked at Remy as he spoke then nodded his head at his questions. "Yes, I am sure." Nicholas responded a little violently then rolled his eyes at Remy when he pulled his cell phone out and started texting. A sigh escaped over his parted lips as Nicholas looked at him again. Within a few minutes, Remy was walking away with Eva. He watched them for a moment then looked at Johanna as she came up to him. Nick nodded his head then walked back over towards his pack with her, squinting his eyes and seeing Urainie there. "Uh-oh." He thought to himself, knowing the look upon her face wasn't pleasant.

Upon his return, he eyed everyone with a smile, showing his pearly whites before them now. "Alright, I heard that Andrew's buying, you guys. So, eat up." He said then looked at Urainie and she still at that look at him. Before she could say anything, he clapped his hands together and eyed everyone again. "Well, guys, glad to see you all alive and well. Especially our lovely Alpha female, Urainie. How did the interview go?" He waved his hand over there towards her then flashed another smile.

"Urainie, can we talk over here for a moment?" Nicholas asked then grabbed her arm while pulling her softly off to the side, not too far away from the pack. "Please behave." Nicholas said when he walked back over towards his pack, grabbing a slice of pizza then mainly eyed Andrew. He soon walked back over to where he left Urainie and took a bite out of his pizza before speaking.

"I know you're mad but I knew that they would've been safe. I wasn't that far away." Nicholas said while waving his arm to where he was standing just mere minutes ago talking to Remy then noticed how kind of far away it was from the pizza restaurant. His gaze turned back towards her as he took another bite from his pizza, throwing the crust into a nearby trash can. "Can you please stop that look of death? It creeps me out." Nicholas said while placing his hands up over his face to hide her stare.

Eva looked over to see Rem headed towards her. Her breath stopped when she saw Johanna, but she turned back to Rem. "You don't have to be sorry. It must've been important." I know it's important, she thought. "Yes, I know. But promise me that you won't interfere if I decide to save myself. Capiche?" Eva frowned a little at the worry in his eyes. She sighed smiled reassuringly at him. "As I said, we'll be fine. You have me, and the rest of our family." The silence stopped once something vibrated in Rem's pocket. Remy took out his phone and read a text. Shortly after, he put it away and took Eva's hand. Eva decided to play along with his little 'act'."He requires our audience? Very well, prince, let us continue home." Eva walked with him, hand in hand, as she smiled sadly, "Many deaths, indeed. All we can do is stick together and fight as a family."

Eva mummered, "Despite the circumstances, we may have to join forces with the wolves. For there is a larger enemy and battle ahead of us. Stronger in numbers isn't a myth, of course. We'll both need eachother's help and protection."

Rèmy squeezed Eva's hand once. "Hey, protecting and saving are two different things. But I promise." They continued their walk down towards the Dubois estate. The street was lined with old victorian style homes and quiet. Every home was dark, either because it was so late or because everyone was out at the festival. Authorities were probably detaining as many people as possible to get eye witness statements for their reports. Unfortunately, whoever killed the mayor's nephew and stuck his body to the statue, did it when they knew no one would see and did it for a reason.

Rem wasn't entirely sure he wanted to find out what that reason was. Eva murmured something about working with the wolves and he chuckled. "Don't mention that to Matt. Not sure how he'd take it. The others may not be interested either considering how things are with them. Not all of them had found a friend." He said the last of his words softly. He saw the look on her face when Johanna walked in. "While I agree that we should work together, that probably won't be happening. But we can fight hard as a family. Especially Henrietta."

They had reached the iron front gate of the house which Matt had, apparently, left unlocked. Hopefully he understood the risk involved. He might be strong, but if outnumbered... Rem shook his head sharply. No. He would not think of that. He held the door open for Eva saying,"After you, my lady," and allowed her by before shutting the gate behind them. Unlike the other homes, theirs was fully lit as if Matt was trying to keep the shadows from coming to life. He sighed, and opened the door. "Matt!" he called. turning off unnecessary lights, "If you want the hunters or even the werewolves to find us, you're better off with a big neon sign that reads 'here we are!'"

He made his way to the parlor, his brother's favored room besides his own (or that's what Rem figured anyway) and found him there waiting. He took a seat on the couch and left plenty of room for Eva to sit beside him if she chose to.

Truly, Matthieu didn't have to wait very long for his brother to appear on his doorstep. He'd just carried the teapot in from the other room and placed it on the coffee table to steep longer when the door opened and he heard Rem's shouting.

"Hm...what a shame," he said as he walked out of the parlor and back into the kitchen. "I believe I placed our sign in the attic." He meant for the remark to come off as humorous and lighthearted, but with the volume he had to add to project it through the downstairs level of the house, he ended up coming off as a bit too vitriolic. Not that he cared in the long run. Perhaps that was better in keeping with the situation's mood.

He grabbed the pot of coffee now and returned with a platter of mugs. Balanced along with the mugs were his creamer and sugar, carried in two antique vessels from some old set he'd acquired on his voyages around Europe. In fact, once, he had a whole set. But things break over time. Especially when they are hurled at the floor or tossed at the wall. So, in the end, his tea set really wasn't a set at all. It was more of a gaudy array of any fine kitchenware he could use.

Matthieu took note of the darkness that had reemerged in the house. God, he hated when Rem did that. But at least he knew how to counteract Matt's tendencies. He balanced the older vampire out well, complementing him in a way that made the brothers such an effective force. For example, Matt mentally noted, his brother had known to seat himself in the parlor. Or maybe he had noticed the tea. Regardless, they had business to discuss.

He sat himself in his armchair across from the couple as he picked up a mug and poured the tea into it. He went through the motions of preparing his tea in silence, unsure where to begin until he settled back into his chair and sighed.

"They think we did it, non?" he asked after some time, already knowing the answer. "Can not blame them, I suppose. They do not know any better." He paused and contemplated this statement.

"Now, explain to me what you saw... Matt started to speak again, but now he drifted off as he heard a knock on the door. "Excusez-moi." He set the tea down and stood again before walking towards the door.

A glance through the peephole revealed a woman by herself, and, assuming he would be fine if she happened to be a werewolf or (God forbid) a Hunter, he unlocked the door and opened it for her.

"Good evening," he greeted, inclining his head slightly in acknowledgement.

_____Ettie smiled beguilingly at the young man who answered the door. She was suddenly taken aback to years before, when she put herself to ground. She knew he was not Achilles, but goodness was he the spitting image of the old vampire. Seeing him here instead of his father was troubling to her, but the feeling left quickly. That was the reality for them, people came and go like the wind.
Achilles never allowed Henrietta near the boys, truth be told she wouldn't have been a good influence. Her years and experience shredded what humanity she had left, and the last hundred years hadn't done anything for it either. She decided that sugar, rather than spice, was the best way to become this man's acquaintance and to gain his trust, so she attempted to be genuine.
"We have not met Matthieu. But we know of each other. You were so young last I saw you. You're brother was too. How is Remy?"
She quickly remembered her manners and curtsied politely.
"Forgive me, My name is Henrietta Blackwood. I knew your father for many years and have been a resident of this house for quite some time. Resident as in glorifies garden accessory of course.", she punctuated her statement with a small laugh and smile, "I seem to have recently...sprouted."

Rèmy watched his brother move to answer the door, worried for a moment that it was a hunter. A werewolf wouldn't have been an enormous deal with the three vampires in one place even if they traveled in packs. When he saw it was a woman dressed in an old fashion and elegent. He stood and went to greet her as well. She smelled of earth and blood.

"Rèmy is just fine," he answered. He bowed slightly to the woman who had introduced herself as Henrietta Blackwood. He remembered their father saying something about the woman and the house, but it had been so long ago, he could not seem to remember what exactly it was. Apparently, it was that she was living below the Earth of their gardens for all this time. He shivered slightly, imagining being confined in a coffin down in the dark. He would rather be above with his darling Eva and his brother and the rest of his coven. But she was much older than he and she probably had her reasons.

At her attempt at a joke, he smiled and held out his hand to her in a gesture of greeting. If offered, he would place a light kiss on her knuckles. "Well then you have blossomed beautifully," he said, his charm on display for there was little else to fear than an angered ancient vampire. "Do come in. We have an important matter to discuss. My girl friend is also here," He gestured to the beautiful vampire in the room. "This is Eibhlin Canniff. Eva, this is Henrietta Blackwood."
