BIOGRAPHY
The couple of Jared and Brooke Green gave birth to a baby girl on October 1, 1988. Sydney is the couple's only child and they were tremendously proud to finally have a baby. Sydney grew up in a bisected city known as Bristol, which is in north half of Virginia and the south half of Tennessee. It was a very nice living because in the spring and summer, the family could go to the beach and just enjoy themselves while in the winter, they can go to the Rocky Mountains and enjoy the culture that the state of Tennessee has to offer. As a little girl, Sydney loved to travel with her family as they did so every single chance that they got. Growing up wasn't really hard for Sydney, as well. Whatever she wanted, she practically got and then some. Not to say that she was spoiled or anything but she totally was. She has always adored the finer things in life and she has her parents to thank for that.

Once her teenager years rolled around, she felt slightly different for some odd reason but he father, Jared, took her on a trip to the mountains and discussed what was happening to her. The changes she was going through wasn't because she was hitting puberty as a female, it was because she was becoming a full fledged werewolf. Jared and Brooke were werewolves, as well so it was pleasing to them to know that Sydney was a werewolf, too. Shortly after receiving such shocking news about her parents and herself, her father was tragically killed in a car accident. This devastated both her mother and herself as they both knew that they had to get away from Bristol and go live some place else.

Brooke did not hesitate to pack up some of her things along with Sydney's and drive well into the night to a town known as Bellingstone. There, Sydney was home schooled by her mother and rarely had any outside contact. But as time went on, Sydney managed to go outside and down the street to the market or something and there was when she met a guy named Albrecht. Of course, she was quite smitten by him and it was something about him that drawn her even closer to him. Sydney couldn't really put her finger on it but something about that male made him very attractive towards her. Soon, Sydney seen the male named Albrecht again and actually approached him, talking to him for a good solid fifteen minutes. Picking out his scent, she knew that he was a werewolf, too and that is why she was so taken by him.

After days and days of talking with Albrecht, the duo became an item and Sydney even shared with him that she was a werewolf, as well. Her mother, Brooke, felt a little bit weird about the whole matter and constantly told Sydney to be careful and to watch her back at all times. Unbeknownst to Sydney, Albrecht was an Alpha werewolf so whenever she became an item with Albrecht, that automatically made her the Alpha female of the pack, which is a title she holds near and dear to her heart. As years went by, Albrecht finally proposed to Sydney but when it came time for their wedding, Albrecht was no one to be found. Sydney was absolutely heartbroken and did not know what to think. Days, even weeks went by and there was still no Albrecht so his brother, Axel, had no choice to take the spot as Alpha. This really confused Sydney as she really wanted to know what happened with Albrecht and hoped that Axel had nothing to do with his disappearance just so that he could become Alpha.

It's been approximately six years now and there was still no sign of Albrecht or no one has heard a single thing from him. Sydney had no choice but to accept the fact that she was the Alpha Female to Axel now but it is definitely awkward between the pair because she still has deep feelings for Albrecht. She likes Axel, yes but she was in love with Albrecht the most.

As another year went by, it is 2017 now and with the previous mayor found dead, Sydney heard a little rumor that Albrecht of all people is running for mayor. She honestly hopes that Albrecht is back in town because she really wants to see him and find out what happened to him to the night of their wedding and within the last six years. Sydney also wants to give him the inside scoop on what has become of the pack since his disappearance, as well.

So begins...

For the first time in a long time, she hasn't been able to sleep at night. Her mind kept playing back certain rumors that was circulating around the town of Bellingstone and she just could not believe them. Sydney tried to tell herself that the rumors weren't true but something inside of her knew that the town's gossip was indeed true. After she did her usual routine in the morning, she got dressed for her shift at the diner in a few minutes. She let out a soft sigh as she tied her long, blonde locks of hair into a high ponytail and grabbed her cell phone, sending a text towards Axel.

To: Axel
I'll be there shortly. :)

Once she sent that message, Sydney grabbed her car keys from her dresser and rushed through the front, unlocking her vehicle and getting inside then cranked up the engine. As she began to drive off from her home, Sydney had started to wonder to herself where on earth could Albrecht be and how come he hasn't tried to reach out to her if he has come back to town. She wanted to shake these thoughts from her mind but that really wasn't happening anytime soon, which sucked because she doesn't like feeling this way. After she drove for a few more moments, she had finally made it to the diner but sat in her car for a moment while she wondered to herself if Axel has heard of Albrecht's return and if he did, why hasn't he said anything to her or the pack about it.

Sydney had to ask Axel about it to see if he really know anything or not. That was her ultimate goal whenever she was to enter the diner. She got out of her vehicle and closed the door behind her, locking her car with a simple click of a button. Sydney pushed open the door that led to the inside of the diner and immediately sought out Axel, who was wiping off the front counter. With intent in her eyes, she went behind the counter and stood beside Axel, arms folded over her chest and her left brow raised. "So, hear anything interesting lately, Axel?" She questioned him in a sort of sassy tone then adjusted herself so that she could walk away from him momentarily, placing her belongings in the appropriate area and grabbed her apron, pen and pad before she went back to stand beside Axel, once more. "Please tell me that the rumors are not true about Albrecht's return." She stated towards Axel as she proceeded to count the register, just to make sure they have enough money and change for the day. As she awaited for Axel to respond, Sydney leaned on the top of the counter that he had just wiped down, her eyebrows raised up towards him again.

The transition that came with moving to Bellingstone still had not settled down for Ember. Out of her family, she was the one who was probably the most resistant to the change, actually, even if she didn't dislike the town as a whole. She wasn't used to living around other supernatural beings. She had met other supernaturals before, but never had she and her siblings settled down in a town with them. They were more used to living on the outskirts of human towns, sometimes in isolated and minutely-populated places where the nearest neighboring house couldn't be seen for miles, or sometimes in more crowded areas where their arrival and departure wasn't given much thought. Small towns like this, where everyone seemed to know everyone, wasn't their thing, but Ember wasn't opposed to it. If anything, that was the one thing that her siblings were more fearful of, but when it came to her, she liked the socialization. What she disliked were the rules. Never before had she been expected to feed off of animal blood. The thought alone, she would tell you, was enough to make her sick to her stomach. That was why it wasn't a rule that she followed. It wasn't the only rule that she broke frequently, but it was probably the most serious. In her defense, she knew better than to feed off of any humans in Bellingstone, or even in the surrounding communities. She felt like it was dramatic, but most of the time, TJ insisted on driving them out of the state once a week just so that Ember could have her way and feed off of humans. By the end of the week, she was usually itching for more, but she never gave in to her siblings' pleas for her to just settle for animal blood while they were in Bellingstone. It was stubborn, illegal and immoral, especially when they were living in a town founded off of the idea that multiple species could co-exist without one killing the other, but Ember never felt remorse for her human victims. It was just something that had to happen, and though she personally didn't feel the need to keep it a secret, she did, just out of respect for her siblings who she knew weren't interested in having to move again so soon.

She always hunted at night, and only a couple of hours ago did she, Theo and Lucy arrive back home from their weekly out of state trip for her. Since sleep wasn't a necessity for vampires, all that Ember felt when they got home was re-energized. Walking into Felix's diner still meant that her eyes immediately fell upon the humans that were sitting there, some in booths and others at tables or at the counter, as it was impossible for her to ignore how sweet they smelled even when she wasn't hungry, but it was nothing she needed to act upon. "Good morning my little darlings," she sang in a voice that was overly sweet as she helped herself to a seat at the counter. Axel and Sydney were there, two people who Ember interacted with regularly on Saturdays. It was sort of a ritual for her to come to the diner for breakfast, and sometimes other meals throughout the week. Her brother refused to frequent the place because of his own personal issues with werewolves as a whole, so in part, the habit began simply as a way to annoy him. It had grown though once she realized that there was amusement in bothering the employees of the diner, and since Ember often found herself bored, getting under people's skin had become her favorite pastime. "I would like a menu and for you to let me know what you have that's gluten, GMO, sugar and fat free," she stated happily, knowing good and well that the werewolves across the counter knew that human food wasn't necessarily or beneficial at all to vampires. She was only pretending that she was on some strict diet, of course, but making their lives a bit harder only made hers more fun.

Felix's Diner

____________________________________

He had moved to the kitchen by the time Sydney's text came through. Axel's right hand held a pan over the stove, pushing an egg away from him before pulling sharply, flipping it over with ease. His left hand, however, he used to fish the buzzing phone out of his pocket. With a thumb, he punched out his response -

To: Syd
See u soon ;)

- and pocketed the phone after sending it her way. One step further, he told himself. The winky face wasn't inherently flirty, but it felt like something a real couple would send each other. But they were far from there - they had been for six years, and it would certainly still take ages for their relationship to be anything worth calling a "relationship". He knew they would never have what she and Albrecht had, and frankly, the idea of it was vaguely nauseating.

It was nothing against Sydney, of course. Perhaps in another life, they might have had something authentic, not bred out of some sort of mourning - she for the love of her life, he for his life. It was nauseating, instead, to think of the many ways in which he was becoming his older brother. Meeting expectations, following the unspoken guidelines Al had set - he should have lost his mind years ago.

He pushed his way through the swinging door and into the dining room, carrying the eggs he had just cooked along with a pot of coffee. Axel placed the eggs at the appropriate table, filling coffee mugs as he crossed the room.

"Look at that - reminds me of your dear brother," the dining patron remarked, stirring cream into her coffee as she looked up at Axel, smiling gently. "Thank goodness you never were as tall as him." He offered a smile of his own - albeit an awful, pained sort of smile - before he retreated to the counter once more.

It was while he dealt with a new smudge on his counter that he heard the door open, foretelling Sydney's entrance into the diner. Without looking up, he could tell from her tone that she had her arms crossed, brow cocked in that way of hers. Axel gave a soft sigh and stood up, pressing a hip into the counter as he crossed the towel over his shoulder casually.

"Anything interesting?" he parroted, blinking in feigned surprise as she turned from him to stow away her belongings. "Hon, I didn't think you took me for a gossip." Axel opened his mouth to speak again, but he cut himself off as she asked about Al. His throat caught for a moment, and he crossed his arms over his chest tightly.

"Haven't heard that one in a while...few years at least." How hard it had been those first few months with whispers of Albrecht returning, staying out West, living his life, dying. Axel gave a soft sigh and uncrossed his arms, forcing himself to calm down again. "Syd, it's been six years. It'll be a cold day in hell before I see that jackass again." He could have continued speaking, but that was when the door opened again, and Ember waltzed in. Her voice, sing-songy and laced with a sickeningly sweet tinge, filled the dining room of the diner and caught Axel's attention. He rested a hand briefly on Sydney's shoulder, rubbing his hand against the fabric of her blouse in an affectionate manner, as if trying to give her some reassurance. It was the least he could do.

He focused his attention onto Ember now, crossing his arms as a smirk of amusement caught in the corner of his mouth. Axel was quite used to this Saturday routine by now, and though Ember always managed to waste a fair amount of his time, it still managed to provide a moment of amusement before the day began to drag along.

"Morning, sunshine," he replied. "Lot of conditions you've got today. Sounds like you'd be looking for a glass of our finest tap water." Still, he slid a menu from behind the counter so that it rested in front of her spot.

Thank goodness for the semi-dimmed lighting in the diner, or Junsoo's flushed cheeks could have been spotted from a mile away. His dark eyes peered up at Andre, who not for the first time was a bit too close for comfort, wildly flustered with a sprinkle of clueless innocence. The image of Poppy having a go at dressing him up as she pleased ran through his mind causing the smallest of shivers. Both he and Andre know the ending of that would consist in a lot of unnecessary gushing on Poppy's end while June makes numerous attempts at locking himself in the bathroom to avoid further embarrassment. Still, the smaller boy quirked a semi-nervous smile, gently rubbing at the back of his neck.

"Anything for you, boss." he states, only half-joking, because as uncomfortable as he would be in such a scenario, he would agree to it if only for Andre's sake. He does make sure to leave out his conviction that a stunt like that would hardly do the grill any good.

"Gonna check on the kitchen staff. Hold down the fort for me." Being so caught up in his thought train, it takes June a minute to register what Andre is saying. His mouth opens to respond but it soon closes again once he realizes the man is already out of earshot. Ignoring the odd and not entirely new feeling in the pit of his stomach, which he attributes to the array of compliments and flirting he has been receiving this morning, June turns sharply on his heels to create the new order of martinis placed by a waitress. His hands move fluidly, mixing the sweet and sour juice in perfection with the rum, tossing in his signature smile as he hands them off to the girl. It's gestures such as those that brings some customers to accuse him of mild flirting, which usually means they don't know Junsoo Moon at all. The young wolf wouldn't know flirting even if it quite literally bit him in the ass. A more accurate accusation would be oblivious and disoriented.

Even still, there are certain things and people that Junsoo is subconsciously more attentive towards. One of them being Axel, his alpha, the man he has so desperately been trying to not have feelings for, and somewhat succeeding. But regardless of the status of his crush on the alpha-wolf, they are still like family, which is why the first thought to cross June's mind after hearing the town's gossip on the eldest Wolf brother was to check in and see how he was doing. Deciding it was probably unneeded, unwanted or uncalled for, opted him not to, but now the thought is back and gnawing at his insides. Taking advantage of a slow in restaurant traffic, June's right hand swiftly tugs a cell out of his back pocket, thumb hovering over two names for a few seconds before going for the safer option..

To: Syd
MSG: Gossip travels fast...are you okay?

Axel is a grown man, he can surely take care of his own emotions, and while June is well aware of his history with his older brother, he's also painfully aware of Sydney's history with said wolf. The blonde has always been there for Junsoo when needed, and now it was his turn to do the same. And once again guilty of spacing off, the small boy entirely misses Andre's tall figure walking back towards the bar. Were it not for the strength that comes from being a supernatural creature, the collusion between June's face and Dre's chest would have knocked the former off his feet. He takes a step back, immediately blurting out a "Gah- sorry!" -but almost as quickly adding a soft- "Ouch..." -and a- "What are you made of, titanium?" while the back of his hand gently rubs at his soon-to-be-sore nose.

Tap water truly probably was the only option at the diner that met all of Ember's requirements, but she scrunched her nose up at the suggestion. "Tap water? Really? Isn't it too early for you to be so... insulting?" she inquired, as if she were somehow way too good for tap water. It was obviously silly, because Ember didn't need anything from the diner. A drink packed with protein and vitamins would offer her no more nutritional value than tap water, because her body didn't absorb... anything. Barely anything, at least. The only thing that she needed to survive was blood, but she could still consume food, even if it didn't have much of a purpose. After being changed into a vampire, Ember actually struggled to let go of many of her human habits, including eating three meals a day. Even if she didn't need to eat, it still felt proper. Aside from that, she often got bored, and sitting down and eating was a way to kill time, if not give time a purpose. She ate meals regularly for at least twenty years or so as a vampire before the ritual faded out. Now, she liked to eat only as a purpose of socialization by frequenting the restaurants in Bellingstone. If she could have just come in, caused her trouble and left, she would have, but obviously that was only acceptable to do when she was a paying customer.

After a long and dramatic sigh, Ember's eyes scanned the menu, but she wasn't actually reading it. She pushed it to the side after only a few seconds, a smile returning to her face as she said, "I'm feeling spontaneous today. Surprise me." She looked to Sydney then, her smile widening ever so slightly. "You know, I read that Liam Neeson ate wolf meat a few years ago for some movie he was in. If anything ever happens to you, instead of having your ashes scattered in your favorite place like people do, you should give Axel permission to cook you and serve you here. I would pay to see what you taste like." Though she usually started her days off on a more innocently-annoying note, Ember was feeling energized today. She couldn't resist jumping to a more graphic, and yet equally humorous (in her mind) topic.

A few customers had walked into the diner now and Sydney could not just wait for Axel's responses. She really needed to know something and needed to know it now. She had let out a sigh with an eye roll then went over to take the customers orders and pinned them into the appropriate place for the cook to see but gathered up the drinks herself and delivered them. She told the customers that their food will be out momentarily then she walked back around the counter and eyed Axel, arching another brow towards him. Once his lips had parted to speak, she was on edge. She was really eager to hear what he was about to say and couldn't wait for him to spill something that would make her feel better, at least a little bit.

"First, don't ever call me hon. It's weird coming from you." She spoke in a honest tone then sighed. "I do not take you for a gossip, Axel. I was just hoping that you heard something about Al, that's all." Sydney said as her eyes flashed over towards Axel, who had just called Albrecht, her lover and his own brother, a jackass. She slapped his arm and scoffed slightly as the bell dinged that the orders she had taken were ready. She turned heel and went to grab the plates, delivering them to the table then went back by Axel's side. "I'm sorry. It's just that I miss him so much and these rumors about his return are really getting to me."

After she spoke those words, the door opened again and it was their usual chipper customer, Ember. She felt Axel's hand upon her shoulder then couldn't help but eye him with a soft smile. Of course, she liked Axel as Alpha but truly, she was in love with Albrecht. Her gaze then went to Ember, who had all of these terms and conditions about her order. With her brow raised, she was about to comment and respond but Axel had beat her to the punch already. Snickering at Axel and shaking her head, some more customers had walked in and she went over to serve them.

Upon her returning back around the counter, her phone had chimed in her back pocket as she couldn't really see who was sending her a text right now. Sydney grabbed the coffee pot then went over to fill up some mugs after giving another customer their coffee first. She delivered her customer food and thanked them then hoped that they enjoyed their meal. Sydney went over towards the counter again, looking at Ember with a smile. "So, is our finest tap water pleasurable enough for you? Or do you need another look at the other menu options?" Sydney joked as her gaze when down towards her phone, eyes locked with the device as she seen June's name stroll across the screen and read his message.

This was a sign of relief right here but then again, she honestly wondered what he had heard and what he knew. Before she had a moment to type out a response, Ember's words were targeted directly at her. "You know, if I didn't have these customers and you didn't look like a teenager, I would totally kick your ass. Plus, I have too much to think about right now so you're at the bottom of my list. When I get to you, you'll know it." Sydney said as the hairs on the back of her neck began to stand up. She spoke so that only Ember could hear her and knew that her comeback was not as good as she wanted it to be. She was really losing her touch because she had a lot of other emotions filling her up inside right about now.

Once she had regained her composure, she turned away from Ember and finally responded to June's text.

To: June Bug
Not really okay but what have you heard, Junie?

Sydney sent the message then turned back around, her elbows upon the counter as she leaned down now and sat her phone down not too far away from her, waiting for June to text her back.

She had only left her home moments before getting a phone call from her student's mother, Rebecca. Who constantly claimed as if Ophelia wasn't giving her daughter, Naomi 'the attention she deserved.' The vampire could admit, the girl had talent. Could she become as famous as Lia was when she was younger, no. Then again, very few ever impressed her enough for her to see herself in them. Which was the main reason Lia believed herself to be the best teacher in Bellingstone. She had gone through the ups and downs of being in the limelight with; film, music, dance, etc. She knew what she taught and didn't feel the need to prove her talent and experience to some mere mortal who couldn't shut her mouth for two seconds to hear the teacher's professional opinion. Ophelia was rubbing her temples, trying to control her temper as the tongue lashing continued. Leave to some dance mom to ruin her good morning. She took a deep breath looking towards her diamond rings, fixing them as she spoke disinterested to the mother. She wanted to "I--..M--...Madam Bishop. I understand. Now understand me, I have done this for decades, I have been the muse for composers, singers, artists for generations," Ophelia wasn't above bragging, anyone who spent an hour with her could tell you that. But, it was never out of the need to brag. She didn't need to do anything, she just enjoyed talking about the experience she had gone through in her life. "I know what I am talking about with your daughter, Naomi is very talented, and when I am with her I give her my undivided attention but I cannot just throw away my other students for her." Naomi was good, great every once and a while when she got out of her own head and truly listened to her teacher but not great enough for Ophelia to drop her other thirteen students. They were all talented, some with the potential to be phenomenal but those were the ones who didn't want to commit their lives to their craft like Lia has said to do time and time again. She continued to listen to the mother as she parked her car and fixed her cat eye sunglasses in the rearview mirror. Adding a small 'mmhm' every once and a while to let the woman believe she was listening. When really she just wanted her cup of coffee from the wolves' diner before going to deal with mainly entitled humans for the next few hours, wishing someone would just stake her with a silver pole already (jokingly, of course.)

"Madam, we can talk more about this when it is time for her session but, for now, this is where I am to end the conversation." Before the woman could protest her hanging up, Ophelia pressed the 'end call' button in her car and took a breath of relieving that she could finally relax once more. She had too good of a night and morning to let someone ruin it within minutes. She looked at herself for another moment in her mirror, fixing her flyaway hairs, her red lipstick, and necklace to make sure everything was perfect before she walked around town for the rest of the day. She had an image to uphold after all. Smiling at what she saw, the vampire locked her car, walking across the street to get to the diner. She needed her daily cup of black coffee even if the caffeine did as much for her as anything else, it was more of a taste thing for her. She smiled towards the group of men who held the door open for her but, kept her head forward. When she saw Ember at the counter speaking towards Sydney, someone Ophelia didn't know a lot about other than she was a wolf. Lia chuckled softly, taking a seat next to the younger vampire. "Ember, isn't a tad early for you to be harassing the townsfolk?" Her smirk grew as she slid glasses on top of her head before turning her eyes towards the adolescent looking girl.

Ember's remark only caused him to light up, the grin on his face broadening to expose beautiful teeth and crinkle his eyes. "Isn't it a little too early for you to be so snarky?" he countered. He considered throwing in a "young lady" for good measure, but they both knew she was already far older than he would ever hope to live to. "Or is bottled water more up your alley?"

He watched for a moment or two as she perused the menu before retreating to the kitchen once more. Axel continued cooking, working on some mixture of breakfast and lunch items as the time wore on. He glanced through the window separating the kitchen from the dining space to catch Sydney glancing down at her phone. Axel opened his mouth, as if to ask a question, but he was silenced as Sydney hissed to Ember, her voice to low even for his heightened senses to register from behind the window. But he could tell something was bugging her and bugging her greatly.

Axel loaded a few plates on a tray and brought them out to rest on the counter beside Sydney. One plate he picked up and slid gently along the counter to Ember. It bore nothing outstanding - an egg or two scrambled up with a hash brown next to it. But he had placed a large helping of ketchup along the edge of the plate. If one squinted enough, perhaps it could look something like a comical rendering of a blood splatter - certainly, that was what Axel had in mind when he placed it there, far enough away from the rest of the food that she couldn't request a new plate due to contamination.

"Looks to be to your liking," he remarked as he slid the tray towards Sydney. "Let me know if I can get you anything else, sunshine." Ophelia walked in as he finished speaking, and the wolf offered her a quick smile and a wave. Turning away from Ember now, he looked back at Sydney, who leaned against the counter, glancing occasionally at her phone.

"Everything okay, Sydney?" he asked, taking care to steer away from pet names for her for now. "Something the matter?" He could tell something was weighing on her - the pack had that sort of sixth sense when it came to each other. Her emotions were filling the air around her, pressing into Axel and causing him to grow vaguely anxious. He hated to see her like this, or any pack member like this. Perhaps these rumors about Al still got to her though Axel had long ago given up any hope of the prodigal son returning. Instead, he had been left in this shit town with the pack to look after. If Al were smart, he'd never come back.

"There's nothing I enjoy more on Saturday mornings than you and your empty threats," Ember replied, smiling in an innocent way that was indirectly devious as Sydney turned away from her. She had found a straw a few inches away on the diner counter and was nearly ready to wad up the paper wrapped that concealed it into a spitball to launch at Axel's head now that he had returned from the kitchen. He gave her a plate of food before leaving her with a sarcastically cheery comment about her needing anything else, but before she could act on her instinct to deploy the spitball, or question Sydney about what she was so busy thinking about, Ophelia had taken a seat next to her and was questioning her on whether it was appropriate to be bothering everyone so early in the morning. Ember was tempted to remind her that time was a man-made concept, and that the sun being newly-risen didn't dictate her behavior since she wasn't like these people who had just woken and were probably still grumpy and tired. She was also tempted to tell Ophelia that she got the best reaction out of people when they weren't fully awake and on their guard yet, but she didn't. Even if she unfairly felt like werewolves and humans and a few other supernatural subcategories were less superior than vampires, she didn't think that other vampires were inferior to her. In fact, Ophelia was far older than she was, and Ember could admit that she was far wiser too. While that didn't mean that she was immune from Ember's behavior, since it was basically ingrained in her personality at this point, it did mean that she was aware of who she was dealing with, and she tried to behave accordingly.

"I'm not bothering anyone important," she reasoned, glancing towards Axel and Sydney who were talking a few feet away. She was feeling quite inclined towards asking them what they were talking about oh-so privately, but she kept her attention on Ophelia for the moment. "Isn't it a little too Bellingstone-y around here for you to be looking like you just walked off of Fifth Avenue?" she countered then, as she used a fork to move around some of the food on her plate, shooting a glare at Axel's back when she noticed the purposely placed ketchup splatter on the plate. Ophelia always dressed well. She was a sophisticated woman in every sense of the word, so her superior fashion sense wasn't shocking, but Ember would still poke fun at it.

Image Johanna wiped the sweat from her brow with the back of her hand as she finished frosting another batch of cupcakes. It was still early enough in the day that the ovens were still running which tended to make the kitchen a bit warm in the bakery. She took a peak at her watch and nearly jumped out of her skin. It was almost time for the deliveries and she had yet to box anything or wrap anything. She whirled around the bakery collecting all the baked goods and loading them into the wagon she towed behind her bike. She normally walked or drove her small Ford Fiesta, but for deliveries, she biked. It was exercise, she saved on gas, and it allowed her to enjoy the small town she called home the past few years. She hung the sign on the back of the door that read "Off making deliveries. Be back soon" Complete with a smiley face emoji at the bottom.

The first place she wanted to stop was The Escape. She had made something special for June. It was a new recipe she had wanted to try out and June was well known for his sweet tooth. However, they were the farthest from her shop so she might have to chose the option to give it to him later on in the day when the pack got together. She stopped at the various restaurants and homes that ordered from Aunt Mae's before getting to the dinner. It was already busy with customers--most were members of her pack--and she could see Syd and Axel at the counter. "Hey, Syd," she called out to the alpha female as she walked by, two large boxes of treats in her arms. She was always happy to Sydney of all the people in the pack. She was like a big sister to her and she was the one who helped through the initial... shock of everything.

Image She made her way up to the alphas of their pack and placed the two boxes in front of them. "A dozen cupcakes, two layers of brownies, and a batch of cinnamon rolls all ready to be eaten." She said cheerfully, as she opened the boxes to present them. When there was no reply, she looked up and saw the tension in their shoulders. Her smile faded and was replaced with concern. "Syd? Axel? What's going on?" Her gaze traveled around the diner in search of a threat. She didn't see any vampires...Her mind went into overdrive and did something it does best. Jump to conclusions. "Who is it? Whose hurt? What's going on?"

It had become a habit, it seemed, for Junsoo to embarrass himself in front of his boss in some way shape or form. As much as customers claimed he was the bar's "selling point", Junsoo was beginning to think that sooner or later Andre would grow tired of his mishaps and toss him. Hasn't happened yet, but it very well could, after all the man had no obligation to keep him there. Realizing the impact might have raised a certain amount of suspicion from the unsuspecting human, June made sure to exaggerate how much pain his nose was in, which in reality had already disappeared all together. He vigorously rubbed at his nose, hoping that the action would create the red-nosed effect a collision with someone so much bigger than him should have caused.

His facial features wiggled slightly, as if to make sure nothing was broken though he was certain everything was in it's place. If there was one big pro to being a supernatural creature, it was certainly the tolerance for pain and quick recoveries. Maybe the gesture was over dramatic in itself, but June had always been known to be a dramatic boy. His theater act faltered, however, the moment he realized Andre's face and too-bright eyes were merely inches from his own. His pink lips formed into the shape of a lowercase "o" as he attempted to blink away the mild surprise.

"Ye- Uh- I'm fine!" he blurted, hands flying up defensively. Maybe not the subtlest of reactions, but it would do. "Are you?" a dumb question is probably what that sounded like, because in a normal world, someone the size of June wouldn't be able to so much as land a single scuff on someone like Andre. This, however, was not a normal world or anything even close to it and there's no doubt Andre must have felt pain to some extent. His eyes fluttered from curiosity as he mentally scolded himself for being quite so careless. Had he been walking with stronger force and knocked the man off of his feet, he would of had some serious explaining to do.

He intentionally ignored the buzzing device in his pocket until Dre distanced himself enough, making sure to respond to Sydney's message in record time so as to not be rude.

To: Syd
MSG: Probably the same thing everyone else has heard...did he really come back?

It was pointless to explain who exactly he meant by "he". Sydney knew, perhaps better than anyone else. Once the send key was pressed and the message on its way, June returned his undivided attention to Andre. Truly undivided as the small wolf's eyes followed the man's every movement. Had a new customer not taken his attention, Junsoo could have been accused of staring.

Sydney continued to lean upon the counter, her phone still in her hand as she started to twiddle the device between her hands now. She anxiously awaited for June to text her back as every time her phone, or someone else's would chime, her eyes would become locked with her own phone. Upon hearing Ember's response towards her, she did not bother to respond but made a scowling face towards her then looked up and saw Ophelia walking in. 'Oh, great, another vampire.' She thought to herself as two vampires inside of the diner was enough for her. She managed to get herself upright and walk over towards Ophelia, her gaze meeting hers. "Would you like tap water, as well? Or would you prefer a bottle?" Sydney asked towards Ophelia, mocking her rather sophisticated aura as she smiled towards her then handed her a menu anyway - Just in case.

As a few people left the diner now, Sydney wished them a good day and cleaned up the area that they were sitting. She piled the dishes up in the back, knocking over a few as she cursed to herself and picked up the broken dishes off of the floor. Sydney stood upright now and walked back through the doors, checking her phone and leaned back upon the counter. Axel's voice startled her slightly as she turned towards him and looked around before grabbing him by the arm and pulling him aside so no one could hear them speak.

"Well, June sent me a text about certain rumors going on around town. About what? I am not sure yet." She said just as Johanna, someone she looked at as a little sister and she offered a wave, came in with her usual goodies and then went to asking questions. Sydney sighed as she went to answer her but her phone chimed and it was finally June, who answered her previous message. Her eyes widened at his response and her mouth parted slightly as she gasped softly to herself.

Instead of typing a reply back towards June, her eyes gazed back and forth between Axel and Johanna as she muttered. "He's heard the same thing as everyone else, Albrecht's back in town." Sydney responded as she looked at Johanna now, who knew the look on her face all too well that they must chat later about this matter. "So, if he is back, what exactly does that mean for you, Axel? Why hasn't he contacted any one of us or me?" She questioned towards him now and bit her bottom lip out of nerves. As she awaited a response from Axel, she completely forgot to text June back but started to type a reply.

To: June Bug
I've heard the same thing! Not sure but there is a possibility.

Once she had hit the send button, her attention went back towards Axel as she sat her phone down now beside the register. She even grabbed the two large boxes that Johanna had brought them and walked into the kitchen with them before returning and standing before them once again.

Had anyone else joined the conversation, Poppy would have found a way to skip the fuck out of dodge and try again elsewhere. Somewhere far, far, far from here with Albrecht and even Adelaide, with whom Poppy had more pleasant memories and perceptions. She wouldn't go so far as to say that she and Albrecht had a definite past or anything of that nature, but not being close with someone - combined with the fact that your ex happened to be their little brother who didn't exactly have the greatest opinion of them, even if you guys never talked about said sibling often - and having to interact with them after so long was tiresome. Especially because despite their geographical location, Bellingstone citizens had a firm grasp on what everyone else knew to be Southern hospitality. Everyone wanted to be kind and almost doting to an extent, always helpful, always there - even when they were actually sneering down their noses or just trying to be nosy. And considering Poppy's newfound courageousness as it came to her social life - note the word new because it was still relevant - it didn't mean that she was particularly elated to be in their present situation. Having Ellis involved now didn't help matters at all.

Because Poppy knew that this was going to go one of two ways: she was either going to a.) wind up going to the diner and being inadvertently involved in a sibling spat that honestly didn't even sound like it was going to be pretty even from a distant standpoint, or b.) abandon Ellis to be dragged on to the diner and be inadvertently involved in a sibling spat that honestly didn't even sound like it was going to be pretty even from a distant standpoint. And Poppy was a lot of things, but she wasn't exactly petty nor cruel. So, when Ellis turned to her big, pleading dark eyes, she realized that there was no way she could just leave him to whatever his fate was going to be. She felt herself relaxing her frame - more like, slumping, really but she had had etiquette classes and she couldn't exactly say that she slumped in any way without thinking of Mrs. Levesque and that blasted ruler! - and painting on a softer smile, mostly for Ellis' benefit than either Adelaide or Albrecht's. She also didn't hesitate to whip out her cell phone as she spoke and looped her arm with Ellis', typing out a warning text after she finished speaking."Y-yeah, sure. I was planning on seeing Syd anyway today."

To: Syd

With her casting her eyes towards Ember with a small smile as the younger girl spoke to her. She couldn't do anything but chuckle a bit. She saw so much of her young self in Ember; a spitfire who didn't quell her opinions and remarks for anyone. Ophelia had to respect that and she couldn't help be remember how long ago that was but while she was a tad more eloquent than she was centuries ago, she still had a razor sharp tongue of her own. “Ember, please. Have you never heard the quote; you can never be overdressed or overeducated?” She raised her perfectly arched brows towards the girl after setting her purse down on the seat next to her. No need to get her favorite marooned colored Saint Laurent all dirty. She did have a reputation as a sophisticated, elegant 'fashionista' to uphold after all. Besides the floors look a tad... dingy if she was to say so herself but then again everything in this town as a tad dingy for the centuries old vampiress if it didn't belong to her or one of her close colleagues. “It's what I live by and either way, I'll take that little quip of yours as a compliment.” She winked towards the girl with a smirk growing bigger and bigger on her pale face. “Side, I could make you look like you just walked off Fifth Avenue too if you just let me dress you for once.” She was always trying to dress the girls in this town up, they were like her own personal dolls that she could pamper and dress as she pleased but, of course, either they didn't trust her enough to let her or they rather dress for 'function over fashion' or her favorite that 'that they didn't need fancy clothes to feel important.' Whatever the hell they meant by that. She didn't need her fancy clothes to feel important.

She knew she was important, the clothes just helped other realize just what they were dealing with. A woman with style, sophistication, but still had a darkness to her that people knew not to toy with. It was actually quite a shame that her 'favorite dolls' felt that way seeing that she didn't offer to dress just anyone so those she did extend the offer to had to be something special. She turned her attention from Ember to another blonde walked towards her. She grew usual inviting smile as the young girl's glare met with Lia's piercing eyes. With Sydney's response, she chuckled softly while shaking her head. “No thank you, darling. I don't drink tap and we both know you don't have bottled.” She took the menu from Sydney with a kind but condescending smile before looking at the pastries they had. She slid the menu to the other side of the counter away from her as she cleared her throat. She tried to wave Sydney or Axel towards her without having to seem like a complete asshole. “Excuse me. I'll just take a cup of your finest black coffee if you don't mind. And you know what, what the hell it's my cheat day I'll take a slice of that coffee cake as well. Thank you.”

faerie - #dc143c
Valerie smiled as Benjamin linked his arm with hers. The faerie wasn't one to feel comfortable casual physical contact with most beings, considering that she usually kept her distance from other creatures save those she knew a little better, but she had come to feel rather comfortable around the vampire. It was nice to have a closer friend, at least, even if it wasn't an earth faerie like herself. She did spend time with a limited number of Bellingstone citizens, but each of those people had a more defined type of activity and moment to be around.

When they finally reached the diner, Valerie could feel a level of tension that was not common at the family-friendly place. Her blue eyes glanced around and she spotted a few familiar faces, including that of Ember, the young vampire she spoke with at times. Valerie had loved the blonde's mischievous nature from the beginning and enjoyed hearing her stories. She also spotted Ophelia. Valerie wasn't familiar with the female vampire, but she had always appreciated the elegant style the vampiress took on. It always made the town look a little much more sophisticated than it was whenever she was around.

Well, there were certainly more vampires among the crown today than the usual, but Valerie doubted that was the source of tension. She looked over at Sydney and Axel. She would've normally gone up to greet Axel, but the pair was speaking. Valerie supposed that news of Axel had reached them by now; after all, news traveled awfully fast in towns like these.

Valerie had arrived during the time that Bellingstone was still recovering from the werewolf's disappearance, but she knew enough of the story. A jilted woman, a leader leaving without explanation. It was an ugly story and, although she would never tell anyone this, Valerie was angered at the thought that the werewolf had been willing to leave his family without even an explanation. Valerie had lost her clan to a fire and she would do anything to have gotten the chance to tell them goodbye before the fire destroyed every faerie she had cared for and the love resurrected so often in her dreams.

"Morning," Valerie said, smiling slightly as she came up to the booth that seated Ember and Ophelia. Her eyes turned to Ember for a moment longer; she had not sat down with the vampire to talk for some time and couldn't help but wonder what pranks she had been pulling off lately.

Valerie motioned towards the booth that sat behind where Ophelia had taken a seat, the only empty one since everyone usually went for the booths and there really weren't that many in the diner to begin with. Valerie avoided open tables if possible; it meant being more open and, with humans around, it was just a burden.

Ivan scuffed at he pavement gently as he matched Lucy's pace. Certainly, he was in no major rush to begin with. The library's patrons always came and went at a sluggish pace throughout the day. The vampire chuckled softly and pushed his thick-rimmed glasses further up his nose.

"She's resourceful," he commented, pulling his knapsack higher up on his shoulder. "The sheriff's office is in for one hell of a day if they do manage to take her in." He knew nothing of Ember's taste for human blood, but he would be lying if he said he had ceased consuming it all of those years ago - back when he and Felix first wrote the constitution for the supernaturals of Bellingstone. He often made time for a quite bite here or there when he left on his occasional trips outside of the town. It was easy for a werewolf to make those restrictions - they didn't need to consume human flesh at all and were sustained just fine on a normal diet. Vampires had not been created to live that way - animal blood worked, but it was like drinking grape juice in a vineyard. Or something like that - it was a difficult thing to equate to anything else.

"I think I will join you, as long as you don't mind. What does a few more minutes without books mean to this hick-town, right?" Ivan looked over at her, flashing a quick smile. "You sure an old man like me doesn't cramp your style?" Sometimes he wondered what it would have been like if he had been turned a decade or two earlier like some of the town's other citizens. Instead, he was stuck in a perpetually forty year old body with a mind that had never stopped trying to keep up with the latest trends. Hell, he looked like someone's dad who had gone crazy in Forever 21. At least he always looked put together.

"Have you been reading anything interesting as of late?" Of the two sisters, he found Lucy far easier to connect with, given their mutual love for books, especially fiction. He didn't mind any of the Paynes, in all honesty, but TJ seemed stand offish more often than not, and Ember was a bit too much of a handful for him.

Ivan held the door for Lucy as they arrived at the diner, ushering her in with one hand before he followed behind and let the door shut. The diner was hopping, full of far too many vampires and werewolves - and a faerie, he noticed. Ivan had no enemies, as far as he knew, and while he was never particularly close with any citizen in particular, he imagined they all knew him by now either from the library or from his wandering from shop to shop.

The tension today was palpable, and he could sense it in particular from the wolves, all of whom had gathered near the counter around Axel Wolff, the reluctant Alpha. A particularly unfortunate man, Ivan couldn't help but think, waving quickly to the young man and his pack as he followed Lucy to where Ophelia and Ember sat. He managed to come up just as Val stepped back, giving him the perfect opportunity to sidle in slightly, standing next to the faerie.

"Morning, ladies," he greeted, nodding slightly at the general direction of the group. "Fine day, isn't it?" Ivan slid himself into the booth Valerie had gestured at, figuring he might as well take his time now that he was already late to the library. "Although something's brewing, no? I can feel it in the air."

ImageJohanna's smile faded into a frown at Sydney's words. "Whose heard what?" Then the name "Albrecht" passed through Syd's lips and Johanna felt a growl rumble low in her chest. She quickly covered her mouth and shrugged. "Oops. Still don't have much control over that." She said, quietly. The cause of the growl, of course, was the fact that scum that... Omega was back in town. The alpha that left his pack. She could feel the hair on her arms bristling at the thought. When Sydney brought the boxes of Johanna's baked treats into the back, she turned to Axel. "Why now? It's been... what? Six years? And now he decides to come back? What's his end goal here?" Her eyes watched the door for her wolf sister, her alpha female. "If he tries anything with Sydney, I can promise nothing good will come of it. You know this pack." However...Axel was her alpha. "Of course, if you ask me to behave.. I will." She continued reluctantly.

When Sydney returned, she attempted to change the subject. "Have you heard from June? I have a special cupcake for him from a new batch I've been experimenting with. It's double chocolate Oreo. Chocolate batter, chocolate chips in the batter, an oreo on the bottom, and a handmade whipped frosting with crushed Oreos sprinkled on top." Her eyes widened as she finished explaining. "Wow that's a lot of sugar. I'm glad he's not diabetic." She smiled, "He's one of my best customers." And.. something in her seemed to float whenever he was around, but that was something for when her and Syd could spend some "girl time" together. She pulled out her phone and shot him a quick text:

To: Junie-

This shit was the kind of shit that made Axel wish he had skipped this shit hole years ago, before Al even thought to hit the road and leave him behind. He had never been one for pep talks and words of reassurance, but more often than not, his job as Alpha forced him into scenarios in which the only thing to do was talk it out like a high school counselor or something.

Sydney grabbed his forearm and pulled him away from the counter, holding him close enough that he knew something was horribly wrong. Axel's throat bobbed slightly in response, and for a moment, Sydney might have caught concern in his gaze. He hated this game of not knowing, for he couldn't help but worry if something had happened to one of his own wolves. Axel couldn't help but worry about Ellis, poor Ellis, and if he had managed to get himself into something. Perhaps he ought to call the pack in, have them check in with him lest shit hit the fan without him knowing.

But Johanna managed to clear the air in her perfectly timed arrival, catching Axel's attention as Sydney looked back to her phone.

"Hey, Jo," he started, walking towards the younger wolf. "No one's hurt, Sydney just got a text from June, and she's checking i-" Axel was speaking quickly, too quickly, probably, and so he almost missed it as Sydney spoke up again. Until, of course, he caught his brother's name.

The idea of Albrecht returning to Bellingstone was comical. Or, rather, it had been comical that morning when he first heard the rumors. But now? Axel was familiar with the way rumors spread through Bellingstone, but they had always been rumors of little importance. Albrecht's disappearance had rocked Bellingstone - and while rumors of his return had certainly sprouted during his early departure, it would have been like telling an old joke to spread a rumor like that now. Unless it had some sort of basis in truth.

As he processed the possibility of Al actually returning, Axel clenched his jaw slightly, wringing the dish rag in his hands slightly, and then more violently. Axel blinked quickly all of a sudden, forcing himself into the present. The pack needed him, now more than ever. And jeez, didn't that thought just nauseate him ever so slightly?

"If...if Albrecht is back," he started softly, leaning on the counter so that he could keep Johanna and Sydney close. "Nothing changes. He's still the asshole he was - there isn't a place for him in this pack." But, looking over at Sydney for a moment, he knew exactly what she meant. She wasn't worried about the structure of the pack, about keeping Al away - after all of these years, she still missed the bastard. Axel couldn't help but exhale sharply as she left to carry the boxes into the back. It was a relief Johanna broke the pressing silence.

"I couldn't even begin to think of why he'd show up now." He leaned on his elbows, still clenching the rag between his hands. "He's up to something - I don't care what it is, but I don't want him anywhere near this town - let alone the pack...or Sydney."

He straightened up once more as Sydney returned to the space behind the counter. The diner seemed packed now, and a sense of claustrophobia was weighing on him. By the door, Ivan gave him a slight wave, and Axel returned it half-heartedly.

"I need to call a meeting. Now." Axel was pulling out his phone as he spoke, punching a hurried message out to the group.

To: The Pack
i've heard the rumors. we need to talk. diner ASAP.

Something, probably the universe or whatever other greater force, told Junsoo to feel some sort of relief that Andre's attention was taken by someone else and the topic was averted all together. Knowing Dre, he would have gotten a kick out of watching him transform into the reddest fruit in existence, which would not have been that difficult considering he was already halfway there. He felt himself relax significantly as Andre's gaze was taken off of him and placed on the incoming customer. Luke...or something. Technically, according to Oscar, June should not use his cell phone while on the job and focus the entirety of his attention on the customers. Luckily, Oscar was not present at the moment and Andre never seemed to be a stickler about.

Taking advantage of the momentary pause in the flow of orders, Junsoo pulled the device out from his pocket. Both Jo's and Sydney's messages confirmed exactly what he'd feared. He bit his lower lip while pandering on what to respond to Sydney. As casually as she appeared to be taking this over text message, June was certain that the rumors alone were taking a toll on hear. He didn't dare to imagine if she were to come face to face with the root of the problem.

To: Syd
MSG: I'm sorry Syd but...for everyone's sake, I hope it's not true.

One didn't need to be a genius, only know Sydney well enough to know that she was the only one that was somewhat excited by the news. If he didn't already know the rest of the pack felt the same amount of excitement about Albrecht coming back, which is to say none at all, Jo's message would have confirmed it.

To: Jo <3
MSG 1: Yeah I heard...I don't like where this is headed.
MSG 2: I'll be getting off work soon, don't you dare give my treat to anyone else!

Instead of pocketing his phone, he placed it on the counter between him and Andre, making it easier to see the messages without needing to stop whatever it is he was doing. Maybe he was finished responding, but he thought it best to keep it close in case something came up. Which, considering the circumstances and the heavy tension flowing through the supernatural streets at the moment, something was bound to happen eventually. Heaven forbid that did not include someone from the pack getting seriously hurt. But it wasn't the time to think about that now. June had been hired by Oscar and Andre for being a diligent worker and that's what he should be focusing on now. Another regular customer came in as June reached for the Gin bottle near Andre, already knowing what the man would be ordering. The usual flirting came with it, except this time it was a welcomed distraction from everything going on around him. He even let out a hearty laugh at the man's teasing, the sound of it filling the bar area. It wasn't until the customer left and Axel's name came scrolling across his phone screen with a message directed to the entire pack, that Junsoo realized there was no possible way of avoiding this any more. It seemed he would have to owe Andre for leaving work earlier than expected.

"How upset would you be if I left early today?" Junsoo asked as sweetly as possible, making sure to wait until Luke was gone instead of interrupting the conversation. "Something really important came up." his dark almond eyes locked with Dre's and for a moment he forgot he was a supernatural creature because the man's presence made him feel so...tiny in comparison. Before the man could answer he added. "I'll make up for it however you want."

Her head was beginning to hurt because she felt really overwhelmed right about now. She sighed softly to herself and raised her fingers up to rub her temples, her eyes fluttered back over towards her phone as it chimed. Sydney waltzed over to grab her phone and saw Poppy's name stroll across the screen. 'Oh, great. What now?' She thought to herself with an eye roll after reading Poppy's message, which she began to type a reply to.

To: Poppy
Is today pick on Sydney day or something?

She hit send and placed her phone back on the counter top, trying her best to form a smile among her lips as a few more customers rolled inside. Luckily, some of the other employees were now handling the floor so that she could be beside Axel and Johanna for a little while longer. Sydney's eyes averted over towards Ophelia whenever she finally responded towards her about the water. She made a face, of course and went ahead to gather Ophelia's order, walking away momentarily.

Sydney placed the coffee cake in front of Ophelia, along with a fork and spoon then placed a mug beside it, pouring some coffee inside of the mug. "I hope you enjoy." She said then sat the coffee pot down back in place. Her eyes then went towards Valerie as she came into the diner and offered her a wave. She then saw Ivan, yet another vampire, walked in and went over to sit beside Valerie. She could not help but make a slight face towards him that signified her disgust for him.

Whenever Axel answered her questions, she looked at him. Sydney wondered to herself if Albrecht was actually back to regain some type of control over the pack once again. Her eyes cut towards Johanna as she could feel that she is worried about her. Sydney could not help but go over towards her, resting her hand on top of hers. "No need to worry about me. Both of you. I can handle myself." She had no choice but to remain strong in front of the alpha male and a member of the pack. Once Axel said that he needed to call a meeting and now, she did not know how to feel.

Every single time the door opened, she kept on looking over to see if the so called trouble that Poppy referred to had entered the premises. Her phone chimed once more and she walked over towards it, reading the message sent from June and did not bother to response since he was probably on his way towards the diner anyway. Sydney really had hoped that Albrecht had not returned to town because if he did, she certainly had some explicit words for him.

"Well, I guess all we do now is wait." Sydney muttered towards Johanna and Axel as she decided that she needed to take her mind off of things and needed some fresh air. "I need to step outside for a moment. Johanna, would you care to join me? I really need some girl talk right about now." She practically pleaded towards Johanna, walking towards the back and waving for Johanna to follow her out of the backdoor.

ImageJohanna held on to the small box that contained June's treat as she watched her alphas stroll about their business. She could see Syd getting more and more agitated with the situation as the texts came rolling in. It didn't help that their diner was filling with bloodsuckers...er...vampires. The idea to swipe Syd's phone and do...something with it crossed her mind. Hide it so she wouldn't be disturbed anymore or even just turning the sound or phone off. But in the end, Johanna's sense of privacy and the possibility that she wouldn't want anyone touching her stuff, even if she was trying to help, won out and Johanna just stood and waited.

Her own phone buzzed twice in her back pocket. She slipped it out and looked at the short preview before unlocking her phone and reading the full text.

From: Junie-
MSG 1: Yeah I heard...I don't like where this is headed.
MSG 2: I'll be getting off work soon, don't you dare give my treat to anyone else!

She found herself smiling softly at the response. June was always happy to try her treats and she liked to bake for him. She typed back a quick response:

To: Junie-
I wouldn't dream of robbing my best customer of the chance to try an exclusive treat from Johanna's personal recipes.

She had thought about adding a joke, but a good one didn't come so instead she added a winking emoji to the end and hit send. Once her attention was back in the diner, she noticed Syd making her way to the back, her eyes boring into Johanna as if trying to send a message telepathically. She knew full well what that look meant. Of course, it was then followed with an invitation to join her in the back and Johanna nodded her agreement to follow. She thought about leaving the treat on the counter for June, but she wanted to see the look on his face when he tried it so she took it with her. Axel would let them know when he had arrived. She slipped behind the counter and into the back. "What's up, Syd? I mean besides the obvious."
