Girl 1 has been dating Boy 1 for nearly two years, and from the outside, they are definitely thought to be the "it" couple. Between the cute Instagram posts, the way they act in public, and the fact that they're both model-status attractive, it's no wonder that everyone is convinced that they'll be sending out wedding invites in the near future. The only problem is that the foundation that their relationship sits on isn't as authentic as it should be. Girl 1 only started dating Boy 1 because she knew that her twin sister, Girl 2, had a crush on him, and after years of managing to beat her at everything, she couldn't even let her "win" at this one thing. Though she's grown to love Boy 1, it's not in the kind of love that will last forever, and the fact that she's cheated on him more than once with Boy 4 proves that, but she's too much of a perfectionist to let her relationship crumble in the public's eye. While Boy 1 always had real feelings for Girl 1, they've been dwindling lately as he's suspected that she's cheating on him (though he has no idea it's with his best friend, Boy 4), and he's found himself constantly turning to her sister, Girl 2, for support. Is it bad that he's beginning to want more than just support from his girlfriend's sister? Probably, but he can't find it in him to care lately, despite having a reputation for being one of the "good" guys out of the bunch.
Even though they aren't really, Boy 2 and Boy 3 have always been as close as brothers. They know each other inside and out, and that's why it was Boy 2 who was the first one that found out that Boy 3 wasn't heterosexual. Given that he's not straight either, he claims that it was easier for him to tell than the others, and he never pushed Boy 3 to come out, which was why it took the others three years to find out. He understood how hard it could be to come out, given that his own siblings, Girl 1 and Girl 2 and their parents had treated him differently originally, following him opening up about his sexuality, and he didn't want to push Boy 3 into something he wasn't ready for. Now that Boy 3 is out of the closet, Boy 2 was hoping that the relationship that they had behind closed doors was something that could become more open... more real, but he's been caught off guard by how distant and uninterested Boy 3 has been acting to him lately. To Boy 2, it feels like Boy 3 thinks that he can find better options now that he's open about his sexuality, and it hurts, given that he assumed they were on the same page that they could actually have a real relationship once Boy 3 felt comfortable with being open about his sexuality.
Girl 3 is Boy 1 and Girl 4's step-sister of ten years, and by now, they're as close as family can be. Because of that, even though she doesn't know for a fact that Girl 1 is cheating on her step-brother, she still is skeptical of her. It's just that gut feeling of protectiveness that family gets about people, and it's easier for her to have it, given that she's best friends with Girl 2, and therefore, knows at the very least that Girl 1 is shady for dating the boy that almost everyone knows her twin was in love with for forever. It's safe to say that Girl 3 and Girl 1 don't get along, and that's why it's also safe to say that no one's hoping to put too much alcohol into either of them this summer, unless they want a remake of the screaming match that ensued last summer between the two. Things have calmed down since then, but that's also because they've barely seen each other since then. Luckily (or not so much), Girl 3 will have her own problems to deal with this summer, like dealing with her ex, Boy 3, and maybe even confronting the feelings that she's recently had for Boy 4. She's not dumb enough to think the one night they shared together a few months back means much to him, since he's a known player, but she's also noticed that he's been acting differently towards her lately, and not just when he's drunk and trying to get into her pants.
Girl 4 is the youngest of the group, and because of that, she's always gotten away with being the most reckless, and ignorant, and troublesome. She likes stirring the pot, and has never been afraid of being problematic or offensive because she's never been forced to learn better. She knew she was going to cause trouble when she slept with Boy 4 on her eighteenth birthday a few months ago, but in the moment, she didn't care. Luckily, by the next morning she was sensible (and sober) enough to agree that they wouldn't say anything about it to anyone, since her brother, Boy 1 is his best friend, and would definitely kill him for him, but also secretly because Boy 4 knew it would ruin his chances with Girl 4 if she found out he slept with his sister, now that he's trying to become a better man.
Girl 5 is definitely the most relaxed out of the group. She's the wisest and most sensible, but also the most fun, when you get enough alcohol in her. Everyone thinks that she's now dating Boy 6, since they live together in New York, but it's truly just a platonic relationship... at least on her end. She recently got out of a two year relationship with Boy 5, and though things ended civilly, it's definitely likely that that's why she's always been oblivious to the signs that Boy 6 is really into her. Boy 5 and Boy 6 have used to be close friends, but as teenagers, got into a big physical brawl over Boy 5 drunkenly beating up Boy 2 after hitting on him, so it's safe to say that Girl 5 already was put in a weird spot knowing that her boyfriend and roommate hated each other, so a love triangle wasn't any kind of drama a girl like her would ever dream of considering. At the same time, Boy 6 also had a short fling with one of her closest friends, Girl 1 back in the day, so that's only one more reason for why she's resistant to even consider looking into anything deeper with the guy who's always been one of her best friends, in addition to being her roommate back in New York.
Girl 6 is the only one in the group who truly has any control over Girl 4, but it's something that only exists in the bedroom... for now. She knows that Girl 4 isn't entirely open about her sexuality at this point, but with her dominant and sometimes cold tendencies, it would just be against Girl 6's nature to not exploit that sometimes for her own benefits. She and Girl 3 have had beef for what seems like forever, and having a little bit of fun with her younger step-sister seems like a fun way to gain a little bit of power in getting back at her for a decade's worth of drama that no one other than her seems to remember the start of. It's not like she doesn't like Girl 4, anyway, and at the end of the day, she knows that Girl 4 likes the little arrangement that they have, too. She's definitely the most intelligent and confident out of the group, and no one can deny that she has the skills to really go places in life. The fact that she has a better side to her than she often shows is the only reason for why she's so close with Girl 5 and Boy 6.
