BackgroundBio: An classified military operative, tasked with handling the nation's most dangerous military missions. Referred to as the World's Greatest Soldier, he is relatively unknown to most of the world. Which is preferable to the Government who likes to keep their secret weapon under wraps. Before he was the Green Commando he was Lieutenant Arthur Massey O'Donnell. He started out as young boy who, along with his younger brother, wanted nothing more than to serve his country. Being avid fans of war films, the boys dreamed about being war heroes. To be beloved by the country they hold dear, what a magnificent feeling it must be! Both worked hard to enter the life of a soldier but once they did, things were not what was expected.
Arthur served tours in the Middle East after 9/11 began. He was eager to enter the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan in hopes to bring down the people responsible for the Terrorist attacks and become a hero. When he and his brother met actual combat, things weren't quite what they believed it would be. they faced incredible moral conundrums when it came to the actual war. It was difficult to tell who was their friends or their enemies, as the Terrorists blended in with civilians. Sometimes it was too late to distinguished until they opened fired. Even worse was when they were faced with having to shoot down kids who fired upon them. The choices and horrors of war were slowly tearing them apart.
Arthur's life changed however after a suicide bombing gone awry. A building in a city that was away from the fighting, Arthur's battalion of soldiers were waiting for further orders. There were civilians nearby as one of them suddenly explode after a shot was fired. The soldiers ran for the exit but one of the civilians was trapped between some rubble. He could be saved so long as he quickly frees him. Risking his own life, Arthur saved the life of another, little did he know that he just saved the enemy. Fate sometimes rewards a man for his good deeds, but sometimes Fate can be cruel. He was in a helicopter at the time, with his brother as it was shot down by an RPG. The one who had shot him down was the man he saved a few weeks back. He was too disoriented and too injured to do anything to resist being captured. The only thing he could see was brother's body laying amongst the wreckage, he couldn't believe that because of him, his brother was killed. The Terrorists kept him alive within a POW camp. Arthur spent the next many months with the Political Prisoners, other Soldiers, and people who crossed them. He found it strange that the Terrorists would keep so many people. He knew that Terrorists did capture Americans and Soldiers from time to time to leverage against his nation. Yet it seemed to be an unusual amount, little did he know that this cell was working for higher powers.
After suffering this brutality, his silver lining would appear during a prisoner transport. Apparently, U.S. Soldiers were approaching too closely to the camp and in order to keep their prisoners they had to relocate them to a more private location. Their prisoner caravan was assaulted however but it wasn't by the U.S. Military. Rocked and thrown around in a truck, Arthur was once again disoriented but he could tell from amongst the smoke and wreckage that they were attacked by unknown hostiles. They looked more like mercenaries with top of the line garb and weapons, these were not simple Terrorists, these guys were trained militants. He wasn't interested in being captured or killed so he did his best to sneak away from the wreckage. The Militants could have tracked him down but felt the desert would do their job. At first they would have been correct as Arthur collapsed from dehydration and fatigue from running for several miles. He would have died if he wasn't saved by a mysterious man who brought him to a hidden oasis.
The man healed him and nurtured him back to health. Arthur never got the name of the man, but he did tell him that he was just a simple shepherd. Arthur was confused on how he healed him or where he even was. The Shepherd told him that this was a secret garden, a remnant of the fabled Garden of Eden. He said deep beneath them was the Garden forever lost to the Deluge. Yet, a spring appeared and the waters which bore the Tree of Life, have come to the surface. Which is why there was so much life and vegetation in this one spot compared to death and desolation of the desert around them. Arthur was confused as to why he brought him here, how could this stranger trust him. He said he couldn't but he had been watching him for a long time. Ever since he saved his enemy from death and even how he treated his fellow prisoners in the camp, some of which, where evil men. He felt there was an inherent goodness about him, which is why he healed so cleanly from the waters. The Shepherd brought him back to civilization, from there he found a group of American Soldiers who brought him back to base. Secret Agents from the CIA, where curious about how he managed to escape and survive his ordeal.
They brought him back home for questioning. Arthur described his years he fought for his country, including his time as a prisoner, and him being assaulted by unknown hostiles. He left out the Eden Oasis and said he was healed by concerned citizens. His description conferred the Government's fears that Spite is behind the Terrorists in the Middle East. They offered to put him back in the field but not as Arthur O'Donnell, but as someone who could strike fear into their enemy's hearts, the Green Commando. He felt that he should tell his family that he was in fact alive, even though he was pronounced KIA. But the Government felt that no one would look for a dead man, making him perfect for their uses. That and he was a highly skilled soldier, becoming a Green Beret during his service having served multiple tours in the Middle East. Yet, what was the deciding factor was that their Intel believes that his brother did not die in that crash. His body was never recovered. He was still out there. Arthur listened intently, here was his opportunity to fix his greatest mistake. If he could rescue his brother then he could face the world again...he agreed. He was given a new uniform and a green eye mask, he said why did he look like some superhero? Apparently the Government was reinstating an old Spec-Ops program that used odd and extraordinary individuals to complete the most dangerous of military missions. The mask helped further a stigma of mystery amongst war legends, the legends of the unknown soldier. As the Commando, Arthur was charged with leading a group of quite extraordinary soldiers as they are tasked with uncovering the secrets of hostiles, especially secrets that pertain to Spite.
