Personality; Lara is a rather quiet and mellow girl with a very down to earth spirit. With how much her mom works she’s become rather independent and has had to grow up a lot faster than most girls her age. She’s rather wise and logically thinks about things before she does anything. In school kids call her a nerd since she exceeds in everything, but they also call her antisocial and weird. Kids claim that they see her talking to herself often. She has her reasons for this that she’s never spoken to anyone else about, not even her mother because she knows people will believe she’s crazy. Once you get her to open up, however, you find that Lara is rather enjoyable to be around. She inherited her mothers sense of humor, and though hers can be a little dark and twisted, it still makes people laugh. She’s the type of girl that once you get close to her she’ll do pretty much anything for you.
History; After Lara was born, she jumped around from daycare to daycare until she was old enough to go to school. Her mother tried to spend as much time with her as she could, but Lara was too little to understand why her mommy had to leave her all the time.
When she was about five years old she started talking about her "imaginary friend". Her mother at first thought it was cute, but as she got older it didn't stop. That's when her mother began to panicky a little and took her to a psychiatrist for a bit. Lara was a smart girl, however, and stopped talking about her "friend" even though she still heard the voice in her head. She knew she had to hide that now in order to keep people from thinking she's crazy, though every now and then when she thinks she alone she'll talk to the voice.
So as she grew older she came to resent her mother a little. By the time she turned ten she was taking care of herself after school while her mother worked another one of her jobs. She taught herself how to cook dinner for herself and would make some for her mother, but often knew she wouldn't eat it till long after Lara had gone to bed or even sometimes in the morning.
At the age of 12 her mother started leaving money for her and she would go down to the market to get food for dinner every day. She also began cleaning the house and keeping up with all the house work. Because of all this it caused her to mature faster than most of her peers and she found herself not making very many friends because she found them very immature.
When her mother began speaking of a man that she was dating it irritated Lara a little bit. She felt like her mother barely had enough time to spend with her own daughter as it was and now she was throwing a man into the mix and figured she'd throw the little time she had with her daughter into now spending it with this man. This caused Lara to develop a strong dislike for the man and whenever he was to meet her she would simply say hi and then busy herself with something else, even leaving the house at times. So her interaction with this man was extremely limited and Lara knew next to nothing about him.
When news of her mother getting married to this man reached her she was infuriated and thought her mother was just chasing a fairy tale. She grew even quieter at home, though she knew she'd have to interact with her new family more than she'd like. She also discovered she was gaining a step-brother and wasn't quite sure how she felt about that. In fact she was even a little curious about him, wondering if he harbored similar feelings as she did.
