"Life is a fleeting thing, but that's an obvious thing to say. Of course life is a fleeting thing. It's just as blatant to say that today is a fleeting thing, and yesterday's too far in the reaches of the past to brush it with the tips of your fingers, and tomorrow might as well be over already. Every second that passes us by is fleeting. Each moment is just a construct, an invisible, intangible, unrealistic thing. So, I guess, in the end, it's just the easiest thing to say that life is the thing that's fleeting, after all."

NICKNAME(S)
Ryou himself doesn't have any notable nicknames.

Father Time ~His best known title, well-renown amongst not only the other Gods, but also within the human world.

Seer of Fate ~Another popular title amongst the Gods, this nickname is most commonly brought up when he can be seen using his powers. There is a mix of wonder and fear in the tone of those words, as he has been known, in the past, to mess with the fates of others by lying to those who have relied on his insight.

REINCARNATION TYPE
Zurvan | God of Space and Time

GENDER
      Male

AGE
      17

SPECIES
Zurvan ~Not only the name of the God in question, but a species in and of itself. The Zurvan is a legendary creature in Persian/Iranian mythology, the one who controls over time and space, the one who holds the paths to light and darkness in the palm of their hands, and every individual path in-between. They may come in many forms, the most common one being human-like in appearance, with various characteristic warped by a type of mysterious matter, something formed through the rifts of space and time. This material overtakes their physical form.

SEXUALITY
Pansexual ~Ryou finds himself very easily attached to many people, both sexually and romantically. While he may be superficial when it comes to looks, he has no specific preference one way or another for the sake of gender or other things.

NATIONALITY
      70% Japanese | 30% Persian/Iranian

"Existence is an ethereal thing, an intangible concept sewn into our very beings. It is one thing to exist, it is another to live. There is not enough time in any life to sit and explain the difference between each purpose of the words. These are not the things that can be told, nor taught. These are the things that must be learned."

HEIGHT
      Human Form: 5'9"
      God Form: 6'2"

WEIGHT
      Human Form: 130lbs
      God Form: 190lbs

HAIR COLOR
Ryou's hair has always resembled the colors of the leaves in fall, the brown ones that drop from the sleeping trees and crunch underfoot. It's true that the leaves in fall have many colors, but his are only shades of brown. In the shadows, it's harder to tell, but in the light, many shades come to life, continually changing depending on what angle the light is hitting him. As he entered the god's world, the only feature of his hair that changed was, oddly enough, just a few simple strands. They became lighter than all the others, still brown, but more of a tan color. It bluntly sticks out in contrast to his otherwise dark hair. His god's hair is lighter in every way, longer than the strict neck-length Ryou is always careful to keep it at. It's wilder, like a mess of lightly colored leaves blowing in the wind, the same color as the few strands that were dyed when he came into the new world.

EYE COLOR
Before entering the world, Ryou's eyes were just as dull as the rest of him. They were as brown as the darkest bits of his hair, hardly with a gleam or glow. However, as he entered the new world, they brightened, just as his hair had done, and now have a more ruby-violet appearance to them. Their new, louder color is striking against the pale of his skin. His god's form has very similar eyes, only closer to bloody pools of red than simply auburn. It's said they can see the world and all that encompasses this life and the next.

SKIN TONE
His skin-tone is a very light brown, hardly noticeable as anything more than a natural tan considering the type of blood that runs through his veins. What changed the most when he came to the god's world was the appearance of his right arm. At first glance, from the tips of his fingers to his shoulder, it would seem as if he were only wearing a long, black glove, but upon closer inspection, one would notice that it's not a made of a sewn material, but some sort of mysterious, other-worldly mineral. It's rough to the touch, like a stone, and when he uses his powers, an intricate design coils around the entire arm. The skin-tone of his god form is a much darker brown.

GENERAL APPEARANCE
Ryou has the looks that are just above average, at the point where he can get attention if he wishes for it, but not so spectacular that there are people constantly crowding around to get his number. He's the type of person who can easily go from a background character to a spot-light prince in no time at all, simply with a change of mood and a snap of the fingers. Many people find his vaguely foreign looks intriguing, but he's never been one to brag about his origins. His overall appearance, from the way he presents himself, to the expressions on his face, and even to his clothes, can change on a daily basis depending on what type of mood he's in. Since he often goes from one to another, his looks follow suit. One day, he might parade around with his head held high, a smirk on his lips, wearing top-of-the-line clothing from pricey name-brand stores. The next, he can be seen wearing a hoodie and jeans, ghosting through the halls without so much as attracting a single glance in his direction, a faded look in his eyes. It only depends.

The appearance of his Godly form is quite impressive. He has the strange ability to be all and nothing all at once, which is a very strange thing for people to describe upon seeing him. It's as if he can hide himself easily if he so chooses, but can still easily make himself known at the drop of a pin not a moment later. He has the appearance of someone who should be listened to when speaking. There is an odd, almost resentful look in his glittering ruby eyes, something akin to an unsettling type of mischief, similar to the look of a trickster but not quite. His body becomes heavier only because of the other-worldly mineral that overtakes his entire form aside from a few areas around his face, which are colored brown. The mineral is black as the void of space itself, complete with intricate designs that are carved all through-out it, covering him nearly head-to-toe with only a few patches of skin in between. Truly, he seems to be a force to be reckoned with.

"There are certain things in this life that are meant to be taken for granted. Humans worry so much about scraping the line of a bare minimum life that they can hardly be considered living at all. What's a life worth if it only stands as a placeholder for a future corpse?"

PERSONALITY
      ✦ Resentful ✧ Enamored ✦ Dramatic ✧ Scattered ✦

The most important thing to note about Ryou is how full of love he is. He's bursting at the seams from it, his threads pulled taut with his cottony insides oozing out around him. While the love he holds for others may be as honest as it can possibly be, it can also be superficial, or even artificial. It can often leave a bad taste in the mouths of others, like the syrup they put in candies to make them taste sweeter. Too much of it can rot your teeth, fill the bones within your mouth with dark, ugly cavities. When it comes to matters of the heart, he will go for it with all he has. He's not at all shy about confessing his feelings towards another person as soon as they've developed. However, this is where the superficial part comes in. Due to him falling so fast and so easily for other people, the reasons for his falling in love with them tend to be very...shallow. It could be because he likes the way they smile, or because they have a pretty laugh, or because they said hello to him out of the blue one day with no prompting at all.

The good thing is that he falls out of love just as easily as he falls into it. -Well. Only if the person accepts his feelings, that is. If he's rejected on the spot, ignored, avoided, or given any negative response at all, Ryou will have a terribly poor reaction, causing him to do things that most people might consider a bit extreme, such as stalking them until he gets a proper answer, or scaring off those around them, or any other number of things. While his romantic tendencies seem to border on a level of unhealthy, he also harbors a great platonic love for those he makes friends with. When he considers someone his friend, he treasures them. Of course, they might do something from time to time that hits a bad note within him, causing him to lash out or shut himself away from them for some time, but if they're a good enough friend, these situations will always pass and Ryou will always come crawling back to their side, begging for their forgiveness and apologizing for his bad reactions.

Aside from his extreme interests in all things that are love and romance, Ryou has his own personality. He may not be the most intelligent when it comes to schoolwork, and can be quite lazy when it comes to doing any sort of work at all, he's surprisingly well-versed in other ways. He seems to have a natural talent for the stage, finding it easy to take on the role of another person. Of course, he tends to bring all of this off the stage, dragging this dramatic attitude with him wherever he goes. Sometimes, when it comes to him, it's hard to tell if he's joking or not, and really, even he doesn't know half the time. If he wishes to embarrass someone, he might drop to his knees in the courtyard and call their name and list a bunch of made-up embarrassing scenarios between them as they walk away.

For the most part, he usually does things for two central reasons: for attention and for affection. He knows that if he can get in the good books of those around him, get them laughing and make them feel good when they're around him, then he has a better chance of them not wanting to leave his side. It scares him when people fade out of his life, when friends become strangers, when people he once claimed to love become no more than static in the background and brief glimpses in a memory that's long passed. If he feels as if people haven't been paying enough attention to him, he may act out in a way that will have all eyes on him. This can go in many directions, from the simple act of tossing himself into a fountain for laughs, to starting an argument with someone for no real reason at all, and even to signing himself up to be the head of the project, even if he's not entirely capable of handling the task at hand, just so people can report to him.

Overall, Ryou is a friendly person. Despite his many faults, he would go above and beyond for his friends. When he's not being a brat or a tyrant or trying too hard, his company is actually quite enjoyable to have around.

LIKES
Romance - It's his favorite genre of all for anything and everything. Ryou can sit and read books about romance all day and all night, from novels to mangas of all types. He loves nearly all kinds of romance besides the kind of that consist of love-triangles. The idea that a third party member might not get their happy ending feels too much like a tragedy to him. He's absolutely against it. In real life, his love for romance tends to have him falling for anyone who gives him the attention he desires. He's a sucker for cliche's and sappy things.

Drama - Both on and off the stage, he can be quite the dramatic type. While he isn't a fan of tragedies, he's always had an interest for drama, especially the kind that ends with a happy ending. It's the dramatic story that he enjoys. He often chooses forms of entertainment where the main characters is an over-dramatic type. He feels they're the most relatable and often says they're just both misunderstood.

Books - Ryou could read for ages. He likes all types of books, with romance in the top percent. His room has gathered such a collection of all sorts of books that there's piles of them laying about in every room of his home, some in stacks on the kitchen table, others scattered about on the floor. He loves the "new book smell."

Technology - He can often be seen carrying his phone around or playing some sort of game on his newest portable gaming system. When he has the attention he desires face-to-face, he doesn't mind putting the phone away, but he can only stand to do so for short periods at a time. He always seems to be texting someone at all times of the day and night. He absolutely loves giving his number away and talking to people, even if they're complete strangers, so long as he has their attention on him in some way or another.

Intimacy - Not just in a sexual way. Ryou always feels the need to be close to someone. Whenever he's around another person, he may subconsciously touch them in some way, such as holding their hand, touching their hair, leaning against their arm. He has very little personal boundaries and isn't very aware that others may have their own. It doesn't matter if the person is a stranger or a close friend.

Attention - There's hardly anything he loves more than attention. In his mind, there's no such thing as too much attention, even taking into consideration the obsessive, dangerous kind. He often daydreams of having a stalker. It's very odd and definitely not romantic in reality, but he begs to differ. In any case, when he wants attention and feels like he doesn't have enough of it, he may go out of his way to have all eyes on him. Usually it's something dramatic, such as throwing himself into a fountain or calling someone's name as loudly as possible from across the room. It's rare that he does anything harmful, but it has been known to happen in the past when he's feeling exceptionally neglected.

DISLIKES
Neglect - Since he has such a great love for attention, Ryou absolutely can't stand it when he feels like he's being neglected, or if he feels like someone's not paying as much attention to him as they should, especially if it's someone he's romantically involved with or interested in. In these things, he can act completely irrationally, going as far as following the person around to see why they had to cancel their plans with him, or totally blowing up on them just because they forgot to text him back, or even cutting off ties with someone entirely and treating them with undeserved spite.

Tragedy - As in, the genre. Obviously, real life tragedy is something he dislikes. When it comes to tragedy in movies, books, or anything else, he gets over-emotional. It'll bother him for days, or even weeks, after the fact, long after everyone else has gotten over it. Even his spirits will drain and he'll start acting less enthusiastic about things, as if the tragedy was something that somehow affected him personally. It's annoying, but he gets over it after a while.

Fire - Considering the circumstances of his childhood, fire has always been something he's feared. Fires that come from the wick of a candle don't bother him, but things such as bonfires or lighters too close to him tend to make him anxious. The larger the fire, the more panicked he gets. He holds a large dislike for those who play with fire for fun or to simply look cool.

Chores - This one's a little obvious. I mean, who actually enjoys chores, right? Only weirdos, that's who. He would much rather spend his time lazing around or doing as he pleases than doing chores. He often goes out of his way to avoid doing any strenuous activities that might be considered a chore, such as eating take-out or fastfood to avoid cooking, or eating off paper plates with plastic utensils to avoid doing dishes, or even leaving his clean laundry in the basket after they've been cleaned, letting them wrinkle.

Criticism - Ryou is the type of person who can't deal with this sort of thing, no matter how honest or constructive it is. He equates criticism to outright hate and always lashes out at those who try to give any towards him. He may accept friendly advice, especially if he asks for it, but if someone tries critiquing his work, or something he's done personally, or even some part of himself, he'll grow to strongly dislike them, even if they were once a friend of his.

Orders - While he doesn't have a specific dislike for those in positions of authority, it's when they start giving out orders and bossing him around that his nerves start grinding down. Whenever someone gives him a direct order, he gets the greatest urge to rebel and do anything he can to go against carrying out whatever it was he was ordered to do. If the person tries to insist that he do it, he'll just end up snapping at them, even if they're a teacher or some other adult.

TALENTS
Acting - It's something that Ryou has always had a natural talent for. His acting abilities are not only for the stage, but also for his every day life, as well. He has the ability to make himself appear to be someone he's not and can easily go from having the dazzling spotlight shining on him to having all eyes diverted elsewhere while he takes the chance to blend in with the background. Although, he usually broadcasts his feelings to the world, that's just because he has no desire to hide them. If he ever did, it would be easy for him to make others believe that he's feeling a different way than he actually is, or even to mask a lie well enough to make it seem entirely believable.

Fighting - While he doesn't look like much, Ryou actually has a lot of experience in handling physical confrontation. He's been trained by the best and knows a variety of moves to not only defeat his opponent, but also to make sure they never bother him ever again. On his own, he could handle multiple people at a time, but he would have more trouble if the other people are more experienced. Sloppy fighters and thugs are practically nothing to him, not with the things he knows. He is quite capable of handling himself.

Writing - Another thing that many might find surprising, he is actually a pretty adept writer. He's not so good with the things he's forced to do, which would explain why he doesn't doing very well on essays for school, but on his own, with his own bursts of inspiration, he could write for hours on end. If anyone were to read any of the things he's written, they probably wouldn't believe it was written by him. However, he rarely shows off the things he's worked on to avoid the possibility of any criticism.

Techie - With his love and interest for all things electronic, he has a vast knowledge of the subject. In the past, some people have asked him to help set up their computer for him, or help them when they get a virus in one of their devices. He's always happy to help because it makes him feel needed, unless it's with something aggravating and tedious. He can pick up on new technological devices quite easily, even if it's something he's never used before.

FLAWS
Clingy - Once Ryou decides he's found someone he likes, he has a tendency to follow them everywhere, always one step behind or right at their side. He'll ask for their number, their email, any and all ways to contact them, and once he finds out where they live, he'll be at their doorstep every day either to walk to school with them (even if they're out of the way) or just to just to hang out on the weekends. If the poor person actually decides to accept his (probably artificial or superficial) feelings, then he'll grab onto their arm and tell the whole school and everyone he knows about it, regardless of whether or not the person wanted to keep it secret or on the down low.

Dramatic - He tends to have some adverse over-reactions to the littlest things. When it comes to sad or upsetting movies, books, or etc., he'll be in tears about it for days, dragging his feet about it long after everyone else already gotten over it. If someone says or does something to him that he doesn't care for, he'll decide immediately that he hates them. If he's criticized, he considers that a form of hate and will assume the other person has some sort of vendetta against him. He doesn't accept these negative things. The only exceptions he'll make is from friends, but even with them, he may ignore them for long periods at a time and talk bad about them behind their backs, and then probably want to make up with them through a 3am teary-eyed text message. On the less negative side, he can also act loudly and over-excitedly with the things he loves.

Fickle - Not only does Ryou fall in and out of love quite easily, but he also acts the same towards other things in life. One day, he'll claim that his favorite food in the whole world is salmon, and the next, he'll say it's cherry cheesecake. He may even pretend to like something for someone else if he thinks it'll make them like him more.

Yandere - When it comes to the ways of love and romance, Ryou takes these things very seriously. Maybe...maybe a bit too seriously. He falls for people easily, either because of their looks, or their charm, or even just because they smiled at him the right way one day for no real reason. When he falls for someone, it's not at all a graceful tumble down a grassy green hill in spring, but a sharp decline from a plane, speeding towards the earth without a parachute to catch him before he lands. It's painful, it's ugly, it's not at all recommended. In the beginning, he'll appear to be just like any love-struck teenager. If the other person goes along with it, he'll get over them pretty quickly and move on to his next person of interest. However, if he's rejected or ignored, he'll go to the extremes of following them around, sometimes even stalking them in secret, leaving piles of notes in their locker, monitoring all their social media accounts, and secretly blackmailing or intimidating anyone who he thinks might take them away.

FEARS
Abandonment - There's nothing he hates more than the thought of being abandoned. It's one thing he pushes the other person, or people, away first, but if it's done towards him, he would be absolutely crushed. He would go through many negative emotions, each worse than the last, from despair, to depression, to anger. He would do anything he could to avoid being abandoned, either by the people he loves, or even just by his friends. Once he decides someone is important to him, he never wants them to leave his side.

Fire - When he was a child, he watched flames erupt right before his eyes. He watched the fire burn away all his toys, his clothes, his every precious belonging. Obviously, he survived, and those involved claimed that he was never in any real danger in the first place. After all, the fire wasn't meant for him. But he still remembers how startling it was to wake up to it only feet away from him, the feel of the flames biting at his skin, taking away his things so that he could never get them back.

Disinterest - Due to him taking love so seriously, when Ryou decides he's liked someone, he doesn't very much appreciate being ignored or brushed off. Even if the other person politely turns him down if he confessed to them, he would still feel a fit of anxiety. In the beginning, he would go into a brief state of depression, wondering if it's something he did or something he said, or just something about him in general, but as time went on, he would reflect these feelings on the other person and start to believe that, rather, it's them, not him. It's his way of coping with their disinterest, but definitely not the healthiest reaction, especially since it's a denial of his low self-esteem. Deep down, knowing someone has no interest in him scares him.

"As human beings, our humanity is all we have in the end. When we are told that we are no longer the humans we once thought we were, what do we have left of ourselves to love? If I'm not human, what am I? There is no name."

POWER
      Space-Time Manipulation

      At it's full potential:
Time is merely an illusion when it comes to someone who can control it. With this power, Ryou can control nearly all aspects of time, as well as manipulate various features of it. For instance, the main point of this ability is being able to freeze time. This effects all people regardless of distance. In this frozen state, Ryou stands out on his own, giving him a chance to exist outside of the current temporal timeline so he can assess the situation and its possibilities. However, while he can move freely about as he pleases, he can not physically mess with anything during this frozen state of time. When he comes in contact with another living being, whether human, plant, animal, or otherwise, they will immediately join him in the space outside of time, conscious and unfrozen and able to speak, think, and interact with him. This only lasts as long as he maintains contact. If he lets them go, they will return to their frozen state.

When viewing the different outcomes, he can also narrow his results to specific living beings. In other words, if a person were to ask him what their outlook might be if they were to do a certain thing, he should be able to look into their future and see what will occur.

As an additional ability, while in this state (and only in this state), Ryou can view a variety of situational outcomes. Unfortunately, this power is limited, even in its full capabilities, as there are practically an unlimited amount of possibilities for each and every scenario, all of which can change into a multitude of even more possibilities from the most minuscule occurrence. Instead, he can choose to see a limited handful of outcomes that he can bring forth at random, like visions on television screens playing before his eyes. He would be unable to tell which event or outcome would be more or less likely with absolute certainty. While he can see which line of events can lead to which outcome, he can only see up to a certain point, and very rarely gets to see them through to their very end. Endings are just a concept. When it comes to matters of actual time, there is no such thing as a true ending.

      Drawbacks:
The issue with all of this is that yes, Ryou may know what might happen and how, and may have a chance to act on it to manipulate the situation to have the best outcome, but he could just as easily choose the wrong outcome without actually realizing it until it's either too late, or until he only has seconds to find a way to fix it. It's not as blinding as shooting a dart in the dark; more like being drunk, spun, and blindfolded with a material that is just barely see-through, and then told to make the shot. The key here is to be very good at bluffing.

As he is now, lacking control of his abilities, Ryou may accidentally see visions of the various events and possibilities flashing across his field of vision, even when he isn't in the frozen state of time. It can be distracting, loud, in his face, and frustrating. It would be like having countless images flickering before his eyes with him barely able to grasp the concept of what exactly is happening or what is going on. He may also freeze time around him without actually meaning to. At least, in this state, the visions are more controlled, set up like monitors, more easily displayed for his convenience. However, he may accidentally twist the outcome of a certain event, twisting or ruining the timeline of either the one he's currently residing in, or of another. This can also screw with his head, making him truly believe that something is going to happen when it actually isn't.

Along with this, whenever he has physical contact with another person, visions of their various outcomes, timelines, and futures will spark across his vision.

WEAPON
      Bahram ~Victory Over Resistance
The weapon Ryou inherited from his God is something akin to a sword. It doesn't seem to be any type that actually has a true name, made of the same glowing minerals that are carved in the strange material his arm became part of when he entered the world of Gods. The sword has become just as much a part of him as the rest of the mysterious, mineral-like substance. When he's not using it, it'll fade back into his arm, becoming the carved-in bits of luminescent blues, and when he wishes to use it, it's summoned for him, automatically falling into place in the palm of his hand. Its glowing blade is sharp, deadly, and nearly indestructible. It can not be removed from or knocked out of his hands since it's connected to him, just as much a part of him as his own flesh and bone.

"Love is the beginning of all things. That is the lesson I've been taught in life."

FAMILY
Father | Hideki Fujimoto | Deceased
Mother | Kimiko Fujimoto | Alive

BIO
Ryou's life was doomed to be unnatural from birth. He was born into a family of esteemed yakuzas, his mother and father split between two different clans, both of them the heads of those they ran. They were dangerous people, but kept true to their own, only making trouble when trouble needed stirring. His father favored pulling the strings in the backs of popular political figures, using his wide range of contacts to help build up those he favored, and then pulling out all the dirt he had on them whenever they started showing cold feet. Meanwhile, Kimiko kept quieter, dealing in the ways of money and jewels and less in the sticky business. Regardless of coming from differing clans, the two of them fell in love after meeting often enough. Their romance was one to be envied, full of fun and excitement and just enough danger to keep things involved.

Everyone thought they would last until the end of their days, but apparently it wasn't as meant to be as the fairytales foretold. Kimiko had an obsessive tendency and a bit of a crazy streak. When she didn't get what she wanted, she was known for the tantrums she threw, which got her in the place as the head of her clan in the first place. She didn't look like much, but she was feared by all those who knew her family name. Just speaking it could bring chills to any man. Ryou had already been born, and was around the age of eight, when Kimiko heard that her husband had been cheating on her with another woman of his own clan. She didn't even bother to demand an excuse before she stormed her way over to his home and set it aflame in the middle of the night. She did it all on her own, only using assistants to help get her child out of the home before he accidentally became a casualty in her ruthless act of revenge.

From then on, Kimiko raised Ryou on her own with the help of her subordinates. She kept him close at all times, raising him to be a true yakuza, dreaming of the day that he would eventually take her place at the top. She hated all men, but not her own son. She loved him more than anyone else, dragging him along with her on even her most dangerous, violent acts. There weren't very many of them in any case, but between her tick of rationality and all the violence he'd heard of in his short life, Ryou didn't exactly grow up to be the most sane of people. He never became crazy in any case. He has a pretty normal head on his shoulders despite his skewed views of romance, most of which come from his obsessive, violent mother.

Those in the clan took to him immediately. Since he's the son of their clan's leader, he's always been treated like a young prince. They've always looked at him with admiration in their eyes, more than delighted to tend to his every request or fall to the floor to kiss his feet. He grew up with a sense that he was something to be treasured, a prize to be won, so when he was enrolled in a private middle school, he was thrown by how little people paid any attention to him. Everything was going fine until they saw him getting into a fight with a few kids who cornered him outside of school. He used to wear flashy clothes and expensive accessories, so they wanted him for all the cash he had, and when he refused, they tried to start something physical. Someone saw him beat them down with a dangerous sort of ease and it only took a matter of days for the rumors of "yakuza" to spread throughout the halls. People averted their eyes, whispered whenever he entered the room, withered whenever he tried to speak to them. He became ignored, lonely, distanced from the attention of others.

When the schoolwork got harder and Ryou became less interested in his studies, his grades started to falter and his mother finally allowed him to join a normal high school. Since nobody there knew him, or at least, not enough people for it to matter, he decided to hide his yakuza traits, wearing more normal things and not flashing around all the money he had unless he genuinely wanted to buy something for someone. After he joined the drama class and got more involved in activities, he quickly took to the life of a kid fading in and out of popularity. People began noticing him and flocking to his side for a variety of reasons. He became happier, but more desperate, more fearful of losing what he felt he'd waited too long and worked too hard to finally have, making him show his more obsessive, clingier side more often. Regardless, he still believes his life, as it is now, is the ideal.

"Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning, just as forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future... But not everyone sees it that way.

Murder, deceit, pain, anger... These are all temporary cures until one must accept. One must heal.

Maybe it was fate when the young teens opened that book and fell into our world. The Depths. In blinding light, they had dissolved and become part of it. They had intertwined their ancient pasts with their modern lives, which is where we begin.

The land was coated in a fine, white powder of snow, the beauty of the landscape breathe taking as the teens stood on the fresh snow covered flowers. A meadow of pure eternity, some would say. The teens? Well, they had undergone a metamorphosis of their own.

At last, the 'heroes' have come!

And of the Gods being deceived? And the truest victim of all?

The Goddess of Ice and the God of War decided to embark on a stroll, the God of Misfortune, the God of Temptation, and the Goddess of the Sun and Moon staying behind within the village grounds, going about their day. "

The day had started normally, Yuuki had gotten up and showered in the hottest temperature her body could withstand, then had gone out to the backyard to practice her shooting. Her groupings were fine, but she was off today and it bugged Yuuki as she polished off her breakfast and finished last night's homework. She had a project due and was meeting with her partners after school today, it was for a final grade but their topic was something so boring that Yuuki figured it would take all of their brainpower to figure out how to make this an interesting presentation. Yuuki grabbed her school bag and slung it over her shoulder, adjusting the bow on her uniform before running out the door to meet the bus. "Shit, I'm gonna be late." Yuuki checked her watch and began to run to the street corner where she hoped the bus would still be waiting. Yuuki reached it just as the doors were closing and the driver opened them back up to allow Yuuki onto the yellow monstrosity with its pungent smell of student body odor and broken green leather seats. Yuuki sat down on a bench that was not occupied and closed her eyes, hoping that the day would pass quickly. Mercifully the day flew by and the amount of homework they had was limited to one or two classes.

She was to meet her project partners at the large library downtown after school ended. Yuuki had to skip archery practice today which she was not happy about because of her off session this morning but this assignment was more important. If she aced this project then that college scholarship was hers, not that she needed it, her family could afford full tuition but Yuuki wanted to prove that she could do things on her own and did not need to rely on her parent's wealth. She was not going to be a leech like her big brother who wanted nothing to do with the family business and simply wanted to sit at home and program computers.

At first the group had focused solely on their topic, then slowly they had drifted towards speaking about other things. Yuuki's mood picked up quite a bit as she sat between Sakura and Ryou, laughing about something ridiculous that Ryou had said. The idea of something so ludicrous brought tears to Yuuki's eyes and she held onto her side as she giggled, attempting to get herself under control so that they would not be kicked out of the library. That was when they decided to go look for books, it was a sort of contest to see who could find the most interesting read. Yuuki had picked out two on science fiction topics that had caught her eye in the new section and set them on the table upon her return. She wasn't sure who had place The Depths on the hard wooden surface but instantly all eyes turned the sleek dark cover with it's lovely cursive letters.

It was like magic, the room darkened and orbs of light surrounded them. Yuuki caught one in her open hands, at first in awe at the warmth it emitted, then it was as if the light was absorbed into her body and she began to glow, pain searing up her arms and snaking through the rest of her being. A scream ripped from her lips as it grew worse and the light turned to a darkness so thick it seemed to swallow Yuuki whole. Only one thought occupied her mind and it was whether her friends were going through the same thing, the terrible pain that felt as though your body was being ripped apart and put back together.

Then it was over. Everything was still and a light snow fell from the sky, Yuuki lay in a field of flowers dusted with the white powder, her body quivering from both the pain and the sudden absence of it. Yuuki reached up to run a hand through her hair, stopping when she felt something odd on top of her head. Yuuki sat up and touched the two things sticking out of her skull, then moved her hands down to confirm her suspicions. Ears; a set of fuzzy ears were poking out of her hair. "I must be dreaming, yes I'm passed out at the library and this is a dream." But Yuuki had never been aware of the fact that she was dreaming before.

"Mirror, I need a mirror." Yuuki stood, brushing frozen water off of herself and stumbling through the field. She stopped when she nearly tripped over a sleeping body; it was a man with long dark hair. He looked familiar but from where Yuuki couldn't quite place it. She stepped over him, wondering why he would be taking a nap in such a place and took a few steps, shivering from the cold. Her school uniform had been replaced by a white yukata the same color as the snow and it did little to protect her from the brittle weather. Yuuki had reached the edge of the field now and was looking at a strange, unfamiliar world. Something brushed against her and Yuuki turned in circles, trying to find what it was. The female grabbed it and yelped, looking at the tail in her hands.

"What the hell!?"
